Abstract:
This article reveals the relevance of the study of intrapersonal constructive conflicts, as well as the essence of the socio-psychological approach to understanding this type of conflict. It analyzes the difficulties that occur in defining the concept and structure of intrapersonal constructive conflicts. This type of conflict is associated with a positive model of success, career growth, and personal development. If an intrapersonal constructive conflict, its positive model is associated with an honest model of success, career and development, rather than a deformed one, then we can talk about success, career and development. The value of conflicts is related to their role in professional activities in science, medicine, judicial practice, sports, etc. Indeed, truth is born in a dispute, i.e. in the course of constructive conflicts. It is impossible to imagine scientific activity outside of discussions, discussions, and opposition. Constructive conflicts help to make a diagnosis during medical consultations, prove the truth in court competitions, and set records in sports competitions. It is not by chance that the most important task is to create a full-fledged theory of intrapersonal constructive conflicts. Without this, it is impossible to talk about effective settlement and resolution of social conflicts. The theory of intrapersonal constructive conflicts is an integral part of social conflictology. There is still a lot of work to be done, both in theory and in application, for its full implementation. At present, there is an urgent need to develop conflict-related competence not only for professionals, but also for various groups of the population.

Abstract:
An essential characteristic of pedagogical activity is its conflict potential. Such specific features as high social and normative expectations and significant overloading of roles in combination with individual psychological characteristics of teacher's personality lead to the emergence or exacerbation of various intrapersonal conflicts. Unsettled conflict usually becomes a constant source of discontent with yourself and the environment, causes a high level of anxiety, starts devastating processes of emotional burnout. Therefore, it is important to provide timely assistance to teachers in situations of intrapersonal conflicts. The purpose of the article is to highlight the results of empirical identification of intrapersonal conflict factors of primary school teachers. To achieve this goal it is necessary to solve the following tasks: 1) to investigate the factors of teachers conflict behaviour at the empirical level; 2) to determine the specifics and nature of the relationship between the level and characteristics of conflict and creativity, between the motivation of achievement and development of subjective qualities of a primary school teacher.Research tools: adapted methods of K.Thomas (N.Hrishyna) on the diagnosis of the style of behaviour in a conflict situation; methods of diagnosis of personality motivation for success (T.Ehlers); methods of studying frustration reactions (S.Rosenzweig); methods of diagnostics of interpersonal relations (L.Sobchyk); A.Rukavyshnikov’s methods for the definition of mental burnout; Drawing Apperceptive Test (DAT); methods of self-actualization A.Maslow adapted by Gozman, Kroz & Latinskaya. The total number of respondents - 32 primary school teachers of secondary schools in Drohobych, Lviv region. The analysis of the obtained results showed that: 1) there are specific characteristic connections between the level and features of conflict, creativity, between the motivation of achievement and development of subjective qualities of a person; 2) internal conflict as an interpersonal phenomenon is both a personal characteristic and a determinant of social interaction. It has been found that rivalry, low verbal creativity, lack of communicative competence in combination with extrapunitive type of reactions cause increased conflict. According to the results of the researches, a significant number of primary school teachers under study (32%) have increased intrapersonal conflict. Of course, this alarming indicator prevents the establishment of optimal pedagogical communication and provokes conflict among children of primary school age.

Abstract:
Working mothers who just had their first child face major changes in aspects of their life. Workingmothers have two roles that must be fulfilled in their daily life, being a mother and a worker. Thedemands of these roles often create pressures that cause conflict within the mother herself.Conflicts that occur within herself are called intrapersonal conflicts. This study aims to overviewintrapersonal conflicts and perceived social support in mothers who return to work after havingtheir first child. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with semi-structuredinterview methods involving two participants who work professionally and have their first childaged 0-18 months. The results of this study indicate that there is an intrapersonal conflict in theroles of mother and worker. The type of conflict that arose in the two participants was the type ofmultiple/double approach-avoidance conflict in which the two alternative choices, working andcaring for children, both had negative and positive values for the participants. Both participantsstated that the existence of social support from people around them, can help participants dealwith intrapersonal conflicts when they have to work leaving their children.

Abstract:
Athletes* success and failure have often been linked to certain personality characteristics. Although previous results in this area were equivocal, many researchers concluded that athletes often drop out of competitive sport because of conflicts of interest, or because they fail to demonstrate high ability in sports. This investigation assessed the importance of intrapersonal conflicts to athletic performance and to dropping out. Swimmers competing at three different levels of performance filled out a conflict questionnaire. Some had indicated that they planned to discontinue their swimming career soon. High performers showed less conflict and a more intensive use of cognitive conflict reduction mechanisms than did medium performers and low level swimmers. Dropouts, on the other hand, had higher conflict scores in areas directly related to athletic performance than did continuers. Intrapersonal conflict was interpreted to be an important mediating variable in sport and personality research.

Abstract:
Introduction. Based on empirical research, the author makes a qualitative analysis of the relationship between students' leadership qualities and interpersonal conflicts as well as discusses the features of student intrapersonal conflicts and their relationship with students' leadership potential. Aim. To explore the relationship between the humanities and engineering students' leadership qualities and intrapersonal conflicts. Methods. The study of the impact of intrapersonal conflicts on the development of humanities and engineering students' leadership qualities was conducted using the Lauterbach Intrapersonal Conflicts questionnaire. Results. According to the structure of leadership qualities proposed by the author, intrapersonal conflicts are a personal leadership potential development factor, which is a personal psychological characteristic. The author discusses in detail four types of intrapersonal conflicts (the conflicts between the needs for dominance and subordination, the conflicts between the need for achievement and the fear of failure, the aspirations-and-achievements conflicts, and the trust-and-self-sufficiency conflicts), which affect the development of the humanities and engineering students’ leadership potential. Conclusions. Intrapersonal conflicts indicate the presence of contradictions between the individuals' leadership qualities such as purposefulness, motivation, integrity, confidence, developed personality, and adequate self-esteem. Intrapersonal conflicts can both promote individuals' leadership skills and decrease them. Therefore, further research into personal leadership skills development is necessary to create developmental and training methods to control intrapersonal conflicts, which could help students in their future careers.

Abstract:
The effect of intrapersonal conflict is investigated with respect to an initial choice among alternative strategies for management of interpersonal conflict. In this study 140 members of an academic institution were asked to consider an hypothetical situation in which a candidate for a position has to be selected and their personal preference among the candidates is in opposition to that of another senior member of the organization. The choice of a strategy for management of interpersonal conflict was affected by inner conflict associated with one's own preference among the candidates. When the set of available candidates induced inner conflict, the respondents were more inclined to use avoidance, accommodation, collaboration, and compromise, and less likely to use competition.

Abstract:
India has created economic opportunities and provided economic liberalization to Indian women by empowering them through entrepreneurship prominently since the Sixth Five Year Plan (1980-85). The male dominated society has since then seen a pronounced reduction of socio-cultural tax paid by women and a widespread improvement in women literacy, employment, financial independence and government’s entrepreneurial development schemes. Yet, the representation of women entrepreneurs in the economy especially from the urban sector is considerably low. Among the problems a woman entrepreneur encounters, a crucial challenge that hinders decision making and repels her natural success gene is her conflict with self; the intrapersonal conflict. There has not been much probe into this particular aspect that works slowly within and may eventually extinguish the urge of economic independence. Hence this theoretical study is an effort to highlight the fact that, while psychological traits such as aspiration, confidence, self-worth, self-esteem, self-actualization and internal locus of control stimulate women to dart towards economic independence, the conflict among them can also hold them back from it, creating the “autoimmune system” in the process. Reviews from various research and e-books and secondary data from Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI), National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), 6th Economic Census have been used to substantiate the facts.

AbstractEmpirical evidence suggests that anger and anxiety are associated with essential hypertension. This study attempts to unearth not just the psychological conflicts but also the type and quality of conflicts that lead to these emotional factors and to explore homoeopathic remedies matching the conflicts. For instance, internal conflict was seen in all patients with essential hypertension. The type of internal conflict was intrapersonal conflict, and the quality was suppressed anger/hostile impulses or sudden outburst of anger towards persons/things and unacceptable dependency in most patients. Unconscious conflicts expressed as ego-defences also were seen in all patients with essential hypertension, of which somatisation and suppression were seen in most patients. Homoeopathic similimum matching the conflicts helps in enhancing our knowledge of remedies.

Abstract:
The article views intrapersonal proneness to conflict as a personal disposition. We have made an attempt to interpret proneness to conflict from the point of view of traits theory. The article overviews opinions of Russian psychologists that deal with proneness to conflict from the perspective of consciousness problem. Proneness to conflict is viewed through the idea of a personality that possesses an in-born set of dispositions, which allow it to react in a steady and certain way in different situations. The article presents Gordon Willard Allport’s statement that the quality of personal maturity is opposed to inner proneness to conflict. The article examines the point of view, which states that threat is closely interconnected with experiencing anxiety, emotional strain, and personal anxiety is a thorough personal characteristic, that acts as a predictor of a neurotic conflict and psychosomatic disorders. The article presents Hans Jürgen Eysenck’s research results that prove that emotion of fear is fixed at the physiological level and can be consistent in emotionally unstable persons. We view Karl Leonhard’s personal accentuation concept, which shows that certain personal formations, notwithstanding hereditary determination can be developed under the influence of certain types of psychological traumas or difficult life situations.

Abstract:
This research assesses the relationship between intercultural exposure variables—the length of time spent in the United States, the length of previous experience outside Saudi Arabia, the length of time studying English as a second language, and the frequency and nature of interactions with Americans—and intrapersonal identity conflict. To assess this relationship, the researcher conducted a survey of Saudi Arabian students studying in the United States, which collected information on exposure variables, as well as employing Leong and Ward’s (2000) Ethno-Cultural Identity Conflict Scale (EICS). A Pearson correlation test was conducted to examine the relationship between the Saudi sojourners’ intercultural exposure and their identity conflict scores to conclude that there is not a relationship between exposure and identity conflict.

Abstract:
Conflict that arises due to culture clash could not be avoided. One of the Slum area that once known as the area of prostitution, Kalijodo, were being transformed by the local government into an area of green open space and also child friendly integrated public spaces. This transformation has a significant impact toward the Kalijodo merchant. These merchants face many and serious conflict. The conflicts due to culture clash and its management that were being faced by Kalijodo merchants are the focus of this research. This research uses a qualitative approach by gathering data and information through observation and in-depth interview. The concept of personal and interpersonal conflict and conflict management model by A.Devito (2011) is used in order to get a comprehend understanding of the conflict that rise, and ways to manage it. This research shows that the Kalijodo merchants faced intrapersonal conflict because they were forced to choose between two difficult option, and also interpersonal conflicts that occurs in two waves. The first wave was during the eviction and renovation (conflicts between Kalijodo merchants), and the second wave was from the moment that the renovation is completed until this present time (conflicts between Kalijodo merchants and newcomer merchants from other district). Furthermore, the conflict management that was applied is the conflict management model of accommodation (I lose, You Win). Kalijodo merchants put aside the personal interests in order to make the local government mission accomplished.

Abstract:
In the literature, little attention has been paid to the specific impact of child-related versus adult-related inter-parental conflicts on children’s intrapersonal processes and adjustment. Aimed to advance knowledge on this topic, the cross-sectional study explores: 1) the predictive effects of the two forms of inter-parental conflicts on: a) children’s internalizing/externalizing behaviors and b) children’s cognitive appraisals, emotional distress, and triangulation; 2) the mediating role of children’s cognitive appraisals, emotional distress, and triangulation, in the association between adult-related vs child-related conflict and children’s adjustment. Seventy-five school-aged children and their parents completed measures of inter-parental conflict, cognitive, emotional and behavioral processes and child adjustment. The results indicated that: 1) higher levels of adult-related inter-parental conflict promoted children’s internalizing behaviors, through the mediation of perceived threat; 2) higher levels of child-related inter-parental discord promoted both children’s internalizing/externalzing behaviors, through the mediation of perceived threat and self-blame.

Abstract:
The study focuses on extroversion personality trait and inter- and intrapersonal skills among Front Desk Agents in the hospitality industry in Hungary and Spain. The first aim of the study is to examine participants’ extroversion level. The second aim is to research what the soft skills are that Front Desk Agents find important to possess to be a successful employee. International comparison is important in both focus points. Findings are based on the results of an online survey. Participants are Hungarian and Spanish Front Desk Agents from various types of accommodations. The results suggest that both, Hungarian and Spanish participants consider themselves extroverted, on a fairly high level. Both Hungarians and Spanish participants find communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, stress management and empathy very important to be successful. They use similar skills at their everyday work like communication and customer orientation. Hungarians more often use practical skills like problem solving, Spaniards rather use skills that are related to creating a good atmosphere, such as friendliness and positive attitude. Both groups would teach communication, problem solving, empathy and customer orientation at tourism courses. Hungarians would add stress management, independency and conflict resolution; Spaniards also mention flexibility and patience. The results of this study can be used as a base for trainings for front desk agents at the hospitality industry and could be useful information for designing and organizing university courses.

Abstract:
A potent way of designing for emotion is to design for concerns. However, people have multiple, and often, conflicting concerns. Such conflicts create emotional dilemmas: One may need to spend a Sunday afternoon working to meet a deadline, and at the same time, wish to attend a birthday party. In this paper, we consider conflicting concerns as a design opportunity: Any of the concerns can be a starting point for designing products or services that appeal to the users. However, we propose that the tension created by the conflict can be more inspiring than the involved concerns in isolation. In this paper, we present an analysis of 109 existing products through which we identify three directions these products seem to use to address users' dilemmas. These directions are resolving dilemmas, moderating dilemmas, and triggering dilemmas. We discuss the similarities and differences between these directions and their potential contribution to design fields such as designing for emotions and designing for subjective wellbeing.

Abstract This paper explores the idea of disagreement with oneself, in both its diachronic and synchronie forms. A puzzling case of synchronie intrapersonal disagreement is presented and the paper considers its implications. One is that belief is a genus that comes in two species: as disposition and as commitment. Another is that self-deception consists in a conflict between one’s beliefs as dispositions and one’s beliefs as commitments. Synchronie intrapersonal disagreement also has implications for the condition that needs to be fulfilled in order to have genuine disagreement tout court, and for the different ways in which it can be satisfied.

Abstract:
The article substantiates a need to develop a common conceptual and categorical apparatus of conflict resolution. Statistical data on the number of doctoral and master's theses defended in 17 branches of conflict resolution are given. As a possible variant of the general conceptual scheme for describing conflicts, groups of concepts are proposed that characterize: the essence of conflicts; their classification; structure; function dynamics; evolution; genesis; information analysis; prevention and prevention; completion principles and methods of diagnosis (research); indicators, criteria, assessment indicators. The role of risk is described as one of the important characteristics of the interaction of the warring parties. Briefly substantiates the need to study intrapersonal conflicts and zooconflicts as additional components in the object of conflict management, in which social conflict is central. The destructive and constructive functions of social conflicts are revealed. The nature of the evolution of the annual number of dissertations defended on conflict issues from 1949 to the present is described. It is concluded that the rapid reduction in the number of defended dissertations after 2005 is probably due to the exhaustion of the explanatory potential of the primary paradigms of conflict research in the branches of conflict management in the 20th century. The hypothesis is formulated that the development of a general conceptual scheme for describing conflicts can contribute: firstly, to a qualitative leap in the creation of a general theory of conflicts; secondly, a noticeable increase in the theoretical and applied level of training of conflictologists; thirdly, a significant increase in the effectiveness of their work in managing real conflicts. A proposal is made to hold an interdisciplinary discussion on the issue of a general conceptual framework for describing conflicts on the pages of the journal “Conflictology”.

Abstract:
Using latent growth curve modeling and data from a sample of 308 middle-aged husbands and wives over a 3-year period, this study examines the influence of work control experiences on marital processes, specifically focusing on changes in conflict management behaviors, perceived spousal support, and depressive symptoms, and the connection between these attributes over time. Consistent with human ecological and work socialization perspectives, our findings suggest that adults’ positive experiences at work serve as a resource for developing personal and interpersonal skills that transfer to behaviors exhibited in their marriages and this process consequently contributes to individual depressive symptoms. Husbands’ and wives’ positive work experience such as control over work increases their use of positive conflict management behaviors and spousal support through personal control, which in turn decreases their depressive symptoms over time.

Abstract:
So far, relationship research has only considered an intrapersonal perspective on links between adult attachment, conflict resolution and relationship satisfaction. This study investigated the mediating effects of partner–reported conflict resolution styles among the attachment dimensions of avoidance and anxiety, and relationship satisfaction in a sample of 207 heterosexual couples. Dyadic and structural aspects of mediation were tested using the Actor–Partner Mediator Model with latent variables. Few significant partner–related meditational pathways were found indicating compensating effects of positive problem solving and compliance. More frequent positive problem solving could improve relationship satisfaction, even when the partner showed higher scores on anxious attachment. In addition, the use of compliance could suppress the negative effects of attachment avoidance on partner's relationship satisfaction. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:
I argue that utilitarianism requires us to tolerate intrapersonal disagreement for the same reasons that it requires us to tolerate interpersonal disagreement. I begin by arguing that multiplicity has the same costs and benefits as multiculturalism: It causes conflict, but it also allows us to perform experiments in living, adopt a division of labour, compartmentalize harm and learn from ourselves. I then argue that, in light of these costs and benefits, utilitarianism requires us to adopt a liberal system of individual self-government, according to which we should not try to impose a unified set of beliefs and values on ourselves. Finally, I argue that we should apply this policy of liberal toleration to intrapersonal disagreement about utilitarianism too. If we want to maximize utility, then we should tolerate inner conflict not only about how to maximize utility but also about whether we should be maximizing utility in the first place.

Abstract:
The article deals with the relevance of studying the phenomenon of motherhood in modern society in various aspects. It is assumed that the features of the level of psycho-emotional tension can be considered as an indicator of the actual functional state in women during pregnancy. The presence of two competing dominant foci in the perinatal period, represented as: motherhood and career, motherhood and independence, motherhood and life support of the family, motherhood and selfdevelopment, lead to the development of intrapersonal conflict. Resolution of intrapersonal conflict leads to an increase in psycho-emotional tension. Quantitative determination of the vegetative coefficient and the total deviation from the autogenic norm allows you to identify the level of psycho-emotional tension. Significant differences in the severity of the vegetative coefficient and the total deviation from the autogenic norm in women who consciously refused medical support during the period of pregnancy are described.

Abstract:
The subject of study in the article is the process of socio-economic conflict management. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the theoretical provisions and methodological approaches in the management of labor conflicts as a form of social and labor relations based on Ukrainian and foreign experience. The following tasks are solved in the article: to investigate the essence and place of social and labor conflict in the system of social contradictions; provide a classification of conflicts in the social and labor sphere; to study the forms and methods of resolving social and labor conflicts: to analyze the success of conflict prevention in Ukrainian and foreign practice. The following methods are used: method of analysis and synthesis, classification-analytical method, abstract-logical method, historical-retrospective analysis and generalization. The following results were obtained: the concept of socio-economic conflict is clarified. The classification of conflicts is carried out, which gives an understanding of the nature and essence of conflict relations on the following grounds: the method of conflict resolution (antagonistic and compromise conflicts); spheres of conflict (political, social, economic, organizational conflicts); direction of impact (vertical and horizontal conflicts); degree of conflict confrontation (hidden and open conflicts); the number of participants in conflict interaction (intrapersonal, interpersonal, intergroup); needs (cognitive and interest conflicts). Structural and interpersonal methods for resolving conflict situations are defined. An analysis of the current state of resolution and prevention of labor conflicts in 2020 was conducted according to the National Service for Mediation and Reconciliation. Foreign experience in resolving labor disputes has proved the feasibility of developing the following ways to resolve labor disputes in Ukraine: with the help of special courts on labor and social security (sectoral justice); through civil proceedings in general courts; through conciliation and arbitration procedures. Conclusions: The analysis allowed to determine the essence of social and labor conflict as a form of social and labor relations at the micro, meso, and macro levels, which is manifested in the opposition of the subjects of the socio-economic sphere. Applying the gained world experience it is possible to reduce social tensions and to strengthen social and economic safety of the state. Abstract:
The conflict is a disagreement within oneself or differences or dispute among persons that has potential to cause harm. It is inevitable and may occur in any profession including healthcare. It could be among any group of healthcare professionals or healthcare team between different group of healthcare professionals or between patient and any of the member of healthcare team. The conflict has a critical effect on the competence, confidence, and morale of healthcare professionals. Consequently, it affects patient care too. To prevent or limit the conflict, emphasis must be focused on proper and impartial implementation of a professional code of conduct, ground rules and discipline. The sources of conflict could real or imagined differences in values, dissimilar goals among individuals, improper communication and personalization of generic or organizational issue. Generally, there are four types of conflicts, intrapersonal, interpersonal, intragroup and intergroup. The conflict usually goes through four phases, frustration of one or more parties involved in conflict, conceptualization or rationalization of cause, expression of behaviors and behaviors resulting in negative outcome. Thomas and Kilmann postulated a matrix explaining five distinct responses or styles to conflict resolution or management varying along the axis of assertiveness and cooperativeness. These five styles are avoiding, accommodating, compromising, competing and collaborating. The issue in conflict is not its existence, rather its management. When it is managed poorly, the outcome will be uncomplimentary with counterproductive results and if managed properly, it encourages competition, recognize legitimate differences and becomes powerful source of motivation. Keywords: Conflict, healthcare, management of conflict, source of conflict, type of conflict.

Abstract:
The article considers new criteria for quantitative assessment of value contradictions — value oppositions and an indicator of value-intentional coherence — that develop Schwartz’s ideas about harmonious, neutral or oppositional relationships of values in the structure of value consciousness. Using statistical analysis, the informative character of the criteria in predicting the success of the formation of professional competencies and assessing the effectiveness of human adaptation to unfavorable socio-psychological conditions is shown. A hypothesis is formulated about the possibility of applying the criteria of value contradictions as a measure of intentional competence, the intensity of an intrapersonal conflict, the success of the formation of professional competencies and the integration of the identity of a person. The obtained results testify to the prospects of using the developed psychodiagnostic criteria in the practice of psychological and personnel counseling, psychological support of the educational process, and also to assess the intensity of social and psychological adaptation.
