Abstract:
The article analyzes the most important psychological preconditions of a conflict situation on the basis of which the strategy and tactics of people's behavior in case of differences of their interests are formed. The main psychological models of conflict are presented in the study, which is used to interpret sociotypes that highlight the psychological portrait of the individual in the perspective of modernity. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the causal dysfunctions in the implementation of conflict situations and highlight ideas for avoiding conflict demonstrated by the individual. The study used the Keirsey questionnaire to assess the temperament of participants and K. N. Thomas' methodology to determine their typical ways of responding to a conflict situation, which identified the tendency of sociotypes to rivalry and cooperation, the desire for compromise, conflict avoidance and flexibility in decision making. The article considers a concept of personality types and their interaction in the structure of interpersonal relationships. According to the methodology of D. Keirsey, which is based on the typology of Carl Jung and the theory of information metabolism of A. Kempynsky, there are 16 types of information sharing between individuals. The formation of a sensitive image of a person as an adequate information subject characterizes the problem of defining a person’s personality in a continuous flow of information, communicative perceptions, innovative competencies and different value systems. Having followed the method of K. N. Thomas that is designed to determine the typical ways of individuals’ responds to conflict situations, we determine an inclination of the above mentioned sociotypes to competition and cooperation, as well as desire to compromise and avoid conflicts, and flexibility in decision making. In the framework of the Socionic model, the subjects of information influences make adequate assessment of their potential, find appropriate ways of self-realization, competitively and objectively perceive the abilities of others in order to form a harmonious relationship with them. The problem that arises in a conflict always stands in the way of the implementation of goals, which refer to both the interests and fears of person. Barriers that work against the implementation of needs and interests in a conflict are always associated with communication, since other people’s activities are often perceived as a dissonance of individual and his/her environment. A mixture of contradictions caused by different types of experience and behavior, character traits and other factors of interpersonal interaction provide the basis of conflict. The conceptual importance of personality covers a wide range of internal mental processes that determine the features of human behavior in different situations. The objective conflict management is the only way that leads to positive dynamics in the conflict of interest, with the main criterion being the ability to compromise, based on the understanding that contradictions can give ground to the development that, in its turn, can bring about effective cooperation.

Abstract:
This article studies the reception of the Bhagavad Gita within circles of Perennial Philosophy scholars and examines how the Gita is interpreted to the extent that it influenced their thoughts. Within the Hindu tradition, the Gita is often read from a dualist and/or non-dualist perspective in the context of observing religious teachings and practices. In the hands of Perennial Philosophy scholars, the Gita is read from a different angle. Through a critical examination of the original works of the Perennialists, this article shows that the majority of the Perennial traditionalists read the Gita from a dualist background but that, eventually, they were convinced that the Gita’s paradigm is essentially non-dualist. In turn, this non-dualist paradigm of the Gita influences and transforms their ontological thought, from the dualist to the non-dualist view of the reality. Meanwhile, the non-traditionalist group of Perennial Philosophy scholars are not interested in this ontological discussion. They are more concerned with the question of how the Gita provides certain ways of attaining human liberation and salvation. Interestingly, both traditionalist and non-traditionalist camps are influenced by the Gita, at the same time, inserting an external understanding and interpretation into the Gita.

Abstract:
Bhagavad Gita Devata Song, is one of the Vedas. He often refers to it as the fifth veda, the Pancamo Veda. It is not clear why it was named so, because when viewed from the aspect of the codification of the Hindu religious scriptures called the Vedas, it is traditionally called Vedic chess. Structurally the content of the Bhagavad-gita is more focused and is a collection of the previous Vedas. This is one step in the development of the history of thinking in Hinduism. The Bhagavad-gita appears as part of the Mahabharata which consists of 18 parvas, and 700 slokas. Learning the Bhagavad Gita is a necessity that must be carried out by Hindu students. Every day, even every time students should take their time to learn to read the Bhagavad Gita. A good learning process is a learning process that can make it easier for students to understand the Bhagavad Gita material being taught. In this study, the information provided by the application includes an understanding of the Bhagavad Gita, the contents of the verse from the Bhagavad Gita, assistance on how to read the sloka properly and correctly according to the existing recommendations. Abstract:
The Bhagavad-Gita, as a multivalent text, has been a source of inspiration for all areas of Indian thought. This paper identifies elements in the Bhagavad-Gita which may have influenced the formation of Nyaya philosophy in the centuries after it was written. Part one of the paper reviews Nyaya epistemology as a whole, focusing on aspects that play an important role in the Bhagavad-Gita: perception (pratyaksa), inference (anumana), ‘syllogism’, verbal utterance (sabda) and the practical orientation of knowledge. The second part shows how those aspects appear in the text of the Bhagavad-Gita. In praticular, Krishna relies on a number of techniques in convincing Arjuna of his obligation as a ksatria which would later be formalized in Nyaya philosophy as pramana or methods of knowing. As a whole, the Bhagavad-Gita also emphasizes the Nyaya view that knowledge is only useful insofar as it helps the knower achieve a particular goal. This paper does not, and has no pretention to prove the existence of a direct line of influence connection the Bhagavad-Gita and Nyaya philosophy; readers will instead gain an appreciation of the shared cultural context which gave rise to both of these forms of Indian thought.

Abstract:
This M.A. thesis presents a rhetorical analysis of the Indian philosophical and religious text, The Bhagavad Gita. Utilizing Kenneth Burke's Pentad of act, scene, agent, agency and purpose as a primary interpretive lens for uncovering universal human motivations, this rhetorical critique conceptualizes the idea of rhetorical agency as a model for action in the Gita's dialogical progression between Krishna and Arjuna. Rhetorical agency in the Gita differs from a traditional understanding of agency in that the former amalgamates competing yet co-existing pragmatic and consummatory agencies that Arjuna may utilize to act in the here and now but also relinquish the control on the fruits of his act, to ultimately transcend all human action by breaking the cycle of birth and death. In that sense, by virtue of rhetorical agency, the Gita may be considered in Burke's words Equipment for Living, because it provides a template for life across the universe.

Stroud, Scott R. "Through illusion into transcendence : a narrative criticism of the Bhagavad gita." Scholarly Commons, 2000. https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/uop_etds/540.

Full text
Abstract:
This study examines the ancient Indian religious work, the Bhagavad Gita. This work of Hindu religious thought describes a mythic dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna, in which the issue of Arjuna's fighting against his family is discussed. Topics ranging from caste-bound duty to the metaphysical structure of reality are covered in this relatively short text. Whereas previous inquiries have focused solely on the philosophical doctrine of this work, this investigation examines the use and form of narrative elements within this dialogue to determine how they contribute to its potential effectiveness and message construction. Previous research has indicated that story telling is an integral format for the transmittal of Indian transcendent knowledge. Using the critical theory of narrative as expounded in the modern rhetorical tradition, this narrative is examined in regard to its internal structure and the meanings it invites the audience to extract. After situating this study in the stream of modern scholarship, a detailed explication of the narrative method of rhetorical criticism is offered, along with its subsequent application to the artifact in question. Various research questions are discussed in light of this application, with results being analyzed. Through narrative, this religious work is found to construct issues of "self," "others," "duty," and "reality" in interesting and unique ways. This study advances an understanding of multivalent narratives, such as the Bhagavad Gita, that use ambiguity in the text to open the audience to possibilities not experienced under their value system. This inquiry observes four main elements that must be present in order for a text to inspire possible value system change and novelty in audience members: these texts must contain differing value structures and hierarchies, they must not immediately or conclusively resolve the tensions between these value structures, the value structures implied in the text can admit to differing actions in relation to audience perception, and the various value structures within the narrative must not be so determinant that they cannot be reconciled. Through these means, narratives such as the Bhagavad Gita can expose temporally and spatially distant audiences to novel value hierarchies.

The main focus of this work is the description of the translation notes found in the Brazilian editions of the sanskrit text Bhagavad-Gita, using a computerized corpus composed of 1.005 notes. The epistemological framework is composed of the idea of translational activity, as presented by Nord (2001), and of the Descriptive Translation Studies approach as presented by Toury (1995) and Chesterman (1997). Concepts of norms, memes, translation problems, paratexts (mainly from Genette, 1997) and translation notes are also used. The methodology of the research details the corpus selection and structure, and the development of the taxonomy used. These taxonomy are used to analyze the subject of the note in each edition separately, including comparison to the corpus average and with the set of other paratexts into the same edition. A general analysis of the corpus as a whole is also presented, including the variation of the content on the different editions and chapters where they occur, as well as analysis of the notes on the most annotated verses, including discussion on the statistical probability of these occurrences. The main results show memes of translation and translation problems.

Morton, Sherry L. "The Divene Devotee Hierarchy in the Theology of Râmnuja: Where the Master Becomes the Servant." Digital Archive @ GSU, 2007. http://digitalarchive.gsu.edu/philosophy_hontheses/1.

Full text
Abstract:
In The Theology of Râmânuja, John Braisted Carman carefully examines the south Asian philosopher Râmânuja’s concepts of the Supreme Person, and the relational dynamics between the Supreme Person and the devotee. Carman sees in Râmânuja’s discussion of the master (úesî)/servant (úesa) relationship the most important understandings concerning the hierarchy between the Supreme Person and the devotee. Carmen argues that in this devotional relationship there is a point at which the distinction between the master and the servant is dissolved, and mutual dependence is revealed. This paper focuses on the point where the roles in the relationship between the divine and the devotee are reversed. In this reversal the master takes on the role of the servant and the servant the master. It is argued here that this role reversal is the action that illuminates the ultimate dissolution of the hierarchy that Râmânuja recognizes and results in spiritual empowerment for the devotee.

Patel, Vinay. "Svāminārāyaṇa’s interpretation of 'Dharma' as it appears in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita." Thesis, Lancaster University, 2017. http://eprints.lancs.ac.uk/89334/.

Full text
Abstract:
Parabrahman Puruṣottama Bhagavān Svāminārāyaṇa offered novel contributions to the Vedānta philosophical tradition by presenting the principles of the Akṣarapuruṣottama Siddhānta (doctrine) and establishing the Akṣarapuruṣottama Darśana, an independent Vedāntic school of thought. In addition to revealing the darśana’s (school of thought) princi-ples, he also presented distinct readings of sacred texts. Among these readings, in “Va-canāmṛta Gaḍhaḍā Madhya 9” he put forth a unique interpretation of ‘dharma’ as it appears in verse 2.40 of the Śrīmadbhagavadgītā. Based on this reading and the Svāminārāyaṇabhāṣyam’s corresponding exposition, this work offers an analysis of Bhagavān Svāminārāyaṇa’s interpre-tation of ‘dharma’ as it appears in the Gītā. Unlike the classical commentators, Bhagavān Svāminārāyaṇa interprets ‘dharma’ as conviction in the present form of God (pratyakṣaparamātmasvarūpaniṣṭhā). This interpretation is signifi-cant in terms of its distinct content, its associated philosophical and theological commitments, and the hermeneutical and exegetical insights it offers. By elucidating Svāminārāyaṇa’s inter-pretation and the Svāminārāyaṇabhāṣyam’s corresponding exposition, this work presents (1) an unoffered discussion of Svāminārāyaṇa’s understanding of the nature and content of con-viction in the present form of God, (2) Svāminārāyaṇa’s relevant philosophical, theological, and hermeneutical principles, (3) an alternative reading of the Gita in light of Svāminārāyaṇa’s interpretation, and (4) cross-disciplinary darśanic insights that are characteristic of Svāminārāyaṇa’s interpretive move.

Abstract:
Within the framework of the interdisciplinary noetic system of concepts developed by us, “metaphysics of an act” as a term implies one of Besht’s constant concepts determined by two basic principle maxims: “Nothing is in vain” and “To save everything.” We refer to the spiritual as noetic (following V. Frankl and C. Geertz), but not in the theological sense, but in the anthropological one. Specifi c ways of implicit exemplifi cation and translation of these principle maxims are revealed in the behavioral realities of several generations of a Jewish family from Chisinau as exemplifi ed in Gita Govinda (Song of the Shepherd), a memoir analytical novel by Elena Cușnir. To examine this narrative, the interpretative ethnological noetic model titled Th e Decalogue: Th e Aspect of Upbringing (the Case of an “I-Document” as a Literary Work) was applied. As a result, the forms in which the principle maxims “Nothing is in vain” and “To save everything” can be present in the consciousness and /or the unconsciousness of a modern person are demonstrated; in addition, behavioral realities, due to which they become the object of translation, are revealed. Th e anthropological noetic content of the concept of “ethics”, which corresponds to the ideas by A. Schweitzer, E. Fromm, and V. Frankl, is specifi ed.
