Abstract:
Information and communication technologies have become an integral factor in the daily lives of people over the last decade. Although their usage allows significant advantages, there are still a lot of people in the world who do not use such technologies. In industrialized countries, the reason for this is not in economic factors, but age seems to be a significant determinant of the digital divide. Recently, however, the number of older adults taking advantages of the Internet has been growing. Numerous authors state that a key aspect of successful aging is to remain actively involved in life in old age. In this regard, it is pointed out that online communication and new media present many new opportunities and challenges for the social inclusion of older people. The aim of this paper is to examine the attitudes and opinions of older people towards the use of the Internet and the reasons for its use. The research was conducted using the 2019 survey method on a sample of 240 people over the age of 65 residing in the Šibenik-Knin County in the Republic of Croatia. The results of the survey show that, although more than half of the respondents have an Internet connection, only a fifth own a computer or a laptop. One third of the respondents uses the Internet every day, and most of them did not attend a course to help them use it. They point out that they easily mastered the rules of the network, in which their family members gave them a support and help. Respondents most often search the Internet for the purpose of informing, especially about daily events, then for the entertainment, cultural education and communication with others. More than half of them have a profile on social networks, mostly on Facebook. Despite all this, they do not emphasize the great impact of the Internet on their lives, and believe that the Internet often takes up a lot of free time. Also, more than half of the surveyed population does not use the Internet because they are not interested in it, do not have the financial means to buy a computer. The reason is that they are suspicion of endangering their own security and privacy. However, those not using the Internet state that their accessing to information is not limited because of that. They also point out that the only motivation for starting using the Internet would be the necessity of communicating with their families.

Abstract:
The article is based on the author’s speech at the 14th International Sociological Readings of memory of N. V. Panina in Kyiv on December 10, 2020 and is an extended version of this speech. Paper presents reflections on the specifics of the relationship between globalization and the pandemic, and the possible configurations of this relationship in different types of societies. The author suggests that the interaction between globalization and COVID-19 is a separate case of glocalization in current conditions and identifies the coronavirus features that pose a direct threat to humanity. It is emphasized that there are no unambiguous forecasts for future developments. There are several scenarios for the possible development of a pandemic of this virus, the probability of realization of which largely depends on such a feature as the wave-like development of the exponent. These features and characteristics of coronavirus infection outline several new challenges for sociological science, among which the main is to understand the sharp narrowing of the traditional subject of its research – social relations and human interactions in objective reality, transferring their growing part to the Internet and explosive growth of virtual reality. This radically intensifies sociologists’ scientific research in the virtualization field and the multiplicity and hybridity of its forms and the cycle of realities in general. In the pandemic conditions, such spheres and directions of research appear as tertiary socialization on the Internet, forming virtual identities, forming a network person, etc. The priority trends of modern societies development in coronavirus pandemic conditions, such as radical renewal of economy and other spheres based on revolutionary technologies and introduction of artificial intelligence, are considered individually. It is emphasized that the coronavirus’s global spread has led to a reassessment of values, forcing people to reconsider existing constructs (e.g. D. Rodrick’s trilemma), in search of compromises. The article concludes with an appeal to Ukrainian sociologists to multiply efforts to understand new realities, considering new global, regional and local trends.

Abstract:
The study argues for the need to analyze the activities of religious confessions in the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet, which is a fundamentally new communication mechanism. Having studied that new type of communication of a religious organization and its followers through a detailed description of the structure of the sites, one can give a general description of the resources, which together can become the basis for further religious studies and sociological studies of the quality of the assimilation of the virtual space by religious confessions. The statistical method of information analysis is used as the leading method. The authors analyze the content of the official websites of various religious denominations in the sphere of the Russian-speaking Internet; provide a general description of the rating lists leaders for the sites with religious topics from which it can be concluded that they all have the necessary cultural and legal authority, which legitimizes their use and access to them in the minds of network users. In addition, it is argued that sites have the necessary information content, contain relevant information, and they are able to satisfy the interests of users with minimal effort. With all that in mind, it may be said that the study can supplement the area of knowledge devoted to the study of the involvement of religious organizations in the modern life of the information age.

Abstract:
The paper presents an overview of the main tendencies in modern discourse studies in German-speaking circles, further referring to the problem of communicative self-presentation strategies used by the participants in virtual conflict discourse and their usage in certain conflict situations. The linguistic, sociological and psychological aspects of conflict communication play an important role in the research of discourse in German-language discourse studies. The research groups such as the Vienna circle and the Duisburg school of discourse analysis integrated theories on conflict discourse, inter alia the hegemony theory developed by E. Laclau and Ch. Mouffe or the theory of conflict discourse of J. Habermas into their research, focusing mainly on the problem of racism and right extremist discourse in the German-speaking public sphere. The modern research includes also sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic aspects of racist discourse research. Scientific works published in the last ten years focus mainly on problems of hidden racism within public and social institutions and racist discourse within teenager groups. The study of different sociological and psychological factors of communicative behavior are aimed at reconstructing social crises and forecast of future tendencies in order to avoid further cases of discrimination in society. With the growing importance of media as source of knowledge and instrument of influence, virtual communication becomes an integral part of discourse formation and articulation. On the one hand, such special features of the Internet, as spontaneity of communication, anonymity of the users, as well as the unlimited number of potential participants, provide a free choice of instruments of self-presentation. On the other hand, however, they involve certain limitations of the communication process itself: such features as social status, social or physical power can no longer be source of influence on the opponent. Thus, participants of conflict discourse have to defend their own and their social group's positive image by choosing suitable communicative strategies of self-presentation and presentation of the opponent. Positive self-presentation in conflict discourse includes a strong division of communicative space into oppositional categories, such as ME (US)-YOU (THEY), GOOD-BAD or RIGHT-WRONG, where the ME (US) group is credited with positive qualities such as good, intelligent, experienced, rightful etc, whereas such negative qualities, as bad, stupid, inexperienced, wrong are attributed to the opponent group. The analysis of such self-presentation strategies and categorization processes allows making conclusions about the mental aspects of discourse practices in separate social and ethnocultural groups basing on psycholinguistic features of intercultural and interpersonal conflict discourse.

Abstract:
In the context of the increasing influence of the products of the Internet field (social media, blogging) on social everyday life, media education is becoming especially relevant. The symbolic status of the audience is changing, which becomes not only a consumer, but also a producer of media content. The current stage in the development of media communications can be considered unique with some reservations. However, in the history of the XIX-XX centuries, there was a precedent, since in society periodically there were periods of a large-scale surge of interest in media literacy as the main category of media education, depending on a number of socio-cultural factors. This increase in the importance of media literacy is wave-like. The subject of this article is the waves of media education, which are considered from the standpoint of synchronicity and diachrony. A complex of methods is used: historical and cultural analysis; structural analysis; contextual analysis; secondary analysis of sociological and statistical data. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the modern media communication conditions in which the new media develop are similar to those that were in the formation of the audience of cinema and television. The Internet and, in particular, social media are no less rapidly conquering the audience. At the same time, the modern mediated world requires a high level of media competence and the development of critical thinking from society.

The article deals with the clinical and psychological aspects of including minors in terrorist and extremist activities. In the historical perspective, it was traced how the views on the role of mental disorders in the genesis of such crimes changed. It is shown that terrorist and extremist activity must be viewed as a complex multi-factor phenomenon, in which socio-psychological components play a leading role. It is noted that the psychopathological process can act as a prerequisite for inclusion in such radical groups. Psychoanalytic, sociological, cognitive approaches, theories of social learning and the concept of diffuse ego-identity making attempts to explain the mechanisms of terrorist and extremist activity in minors are analyzed. The problem of insufficient study of the influence of the Internet and social networks on the formation of readiness for admission to adolescents in radical organizations is posed.

According to the results of their own sociological research carried out in the metropolitan metropolis, there are presented: channels for finding vacancies, reasons that impede the employment of young people, difficulties in communicating directly with employers, and willingness to retrain. The greatest problems in the employment of young people (including graduates of universities and colleges) are the lack of necessary experience and an appropriate level of education. It is revealed that the most effective ways of finding jobs for young people are special sites on the Internet and contacting the city employment service. The structure of young unemployed by level of education in the Russian macro-regions is considered. Comparison of the situation in the regions of the Far East and inMoscowshowed the presence of similar problems, including an oversupply of trained specialists in the professions lawyer, economist, manager. The imbalance between the needs of the labor market and the supply of young labor requires decision-making at the federal and regional levels.

Abstract:
Some theoreticians support notions of the Internet as a media that makes the social differences of those who use it irrelevant or at least less important. The Internet is also often regarded as a medium that improves the free expression of thoughts and wishes of marginalised groups that cannot express themselves in face-to-face relationships due to several normative obstacles. The article deals with the question of gendered normativity related to expressions of femininity in the case of building of intimate romantic partnership within Internet dating. It is based on data gathered by qualitative research. 66 in-depth semi-structured interviews with 34 men and 32 women with Internet dating experiences were conducted in Slovenia in order to get insight into several sociological aspects of internet dating, among which question of gendered expectations related to partnership and family building will be discussed in article. Results show traditional expectations of gender roles are more pervasive as could be expected. Traditional normative understandings of gender were identified especially in the field of expectations related to women and womanhood and were revealed in men?s hierarchical positioning of women regarding their status, in women?s endeavours to present themselves as respectable and in men?s disapproval of women?s sexualities.

Abstract:
Classical sociological theories have enormous potential for explaining social objects, phenomena, and processes, including those taking place in a modern informational society. Among these classics is owned Umberto Eco - an Italian scholar, literary critic, publicist and writer, is among those classics. Some aspects of the scientific heritage of Umberto Eco about semiotic analysis, signs and interpretation of their meanings, mass communication in relation to the tasks of studying virtual communications, the Internet, network society and the digital economy have been revealed. The phenomenon of “visual communication” has been considered in detail: in natural language, the value is predetermined, in the visual it is generated as the message is received. It is assumed that not all communicative phenomena can be explained using linguistic categories. Separately, a description of the methodological components of the concept of mass communication of the scientist has been made: it is argued that by means of mass culture a certain cultural code opposite to the transmitter code can be formed at the receiving instance. The results of the interpretation of the primary data of the sociological research project of the State University of Management have been presented, on the basis of which it can be concluded, that young people go beyond the important sociocultural norms of communication, which can cause distortion of signs and image codes of the virtual interlocutor and lead to a dangerous situation. The conclusion about the possibilities of using the scientific method of Umberto Eco in digital sociology for social diagnostics of the content and specificity of communications on the Internet, which allows to represent different aspects of your real or desired “I”, to create identities through many virtual characters, has been substantiated.

Abstract:
The mediatization of social reality, which confidently declared itself in the early 2000s, is clearly presented as a new digital dimension of religion. Religions of the historical heritage of Russia actively master modern media and digital space of the Internet, create their own media environment of religious network interactions and events, discourses concerning society. The mediatizationof religions has the effect of changing the communicative profile of religions, promoting their topics in a broad public discussion on a par with the political and economic agenda. Modern sociological analysis of religion as an integral part of society now involves the search for answers to the question about the correlation of offline measurements of religious interactions, organizations and communications with their online presentations. One of the actual directions of sociological research of the digital space of religious interaction and discourses was the concept of mediatization of religion, developed by the joint efforts of scientists of the international team "Scandinavian research network". In line with this concept, the author refers to the study of the communicative aspect of the confession of the Orthodox faithful in its offline-online dimensions. As a basic and minimal unit of religious participation, confession as an interaction presents aspects of affiliation, religious-worldview and activity involvement. Central to the consideration in this article is the problem of studying the formats of confession representation in a variety of communicative themes of the digital environment of Orthodox parishes. The study in its full volume was carried out in several stages in 2017– 2018 years. For two years the author has been conducting an offline structured observation of confession in the Orthodox churches of Ekaterinburg, processing and analysis of the results; consequently we carried out operationalization of observation units in relation to online communication confession, collected, processed and analyzedthe data. Abstract:
The main characteristics of the structure of network communication are revealed. The features of network interaction, the behavioral strategies of its participants are indicated. The influence of various social factors on the manifestation of aggression in network interaction is considered. As a theoretical basis, the approaches developed both within the framework of the sociological paradigm and within the framework of an interdisciplinary approach are presented. Special emphasis is placed on the theory of social roles by D. Myers and the concept of cyber aggression by D. Chabrot. On the one hand, network communication is presented as the possibility of a more complete, more intense interaction of individuals than in the case of physical presence. On the other hand, as a factor in the emergence of destructive forms of communication, such as trolling, cyberbullying, etc. The features of network communication are the expansion of time boundaries due to slower communication, a more detailed study of the information provided by the interlocutor, selectivity in self-presentation, and the creation of one's own image on the network. The importance of an integrated approach to understanding aggressive behavior in network interaction is indicated. The results of an empirical study of social factors of manifestation of aggression in Internet communication are presented. Communication in the Internet space itself becomes aggressive, as users feel impunity for their aggression. The aggressor often hides behind various social roles that are not characteristic of him. The accumulating aggression, which cannot be expressed in real life, so as not to contradict the role attitudes, is poured out in the form of comments, messages, both written and voice. The insults themselves are one of the external factors in the manifestation of aggression. Users themselves reduce the amount of aggression on the network by ignoring provocateurs. The main social factors of the manifestation of aggression in network interaction include the features of the communication skills of the users themselves and the pressure from the society about the expected behavior corresponding to the social roles of the individual.

Abstract:
The article analyzes a topical topic dedicated to changing the Internet practices of urban youth in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The purpose of the study is to identify changes in Internet practices and their components among young people living in the city of Novosibirsk in a pandemic. The relevance, as well as scientific novelty, of research is caused by such a phenomenon as a pandemic, as a result of which there has been a change in the preferences of using the Internet among young people. Talking about the relevance, it should be mentioned that in a pandemic, the Internet provides the basis for the emergence of new and transformation of old Internet practices. In addition, the number of sociological studies studying the life of people before and after the pandemic and the role of the Internet in the changed living conditions under the influence of the pandemic has increased recently, since this is one of the relevant and important topics for discussion in the scientific community. Based on the data from the RCSPO polls for 2018 and 2020, the context of the situation under study was described. Through a series of face-to-face and online interviews (conducted in 2021) with young people aged 18– 24 living in Novosibirsk, the most subject to change were identified aspects of the implementation of Internet practices in the context of the pandemic. The study revealed a change in the structural elements of Internet practices after the pandemic and the emergence of new goals for using the Internet. The results of the study confirm the thesis about the emergence of a “new reality” and show how young people adapt to it.

Abstract:
The twentieth century was marked by a large number of various kinds of changes that affected almost all spheres of society. New phenomena began to appear in sociological science, the explanation of which caused difficulties and required sociological theory to rethink the methods and analytical models used by it. Among the factors that have had an active influence on the evolution of the network concept, first of all, we should include the development of transport infrastructure, telephone networks and the Internet. The concept of a network has been increasingly used to explain social phenomena. This approach in modern sociology is called "network", which, according to many researchers, is quite productive, as it has a high potential in solving existing problems and in forming a response to the emerging tasks of modern sociological science. It should be noted that in the domestic sociological tradition and in applied research, the possibilities of using the "network approach" remain poorly understood. Many Russian sociologists do not include this approach in the focus of their attention. This article presents a comparative theoretical analysis of the existing areas of the network approach. The main aspects of comparison are: the time and context of appearance, the main provisions, the methodology and methods of empirical research. Common features and differences between the analyzed areas are highlighted. At the end of the article, a conclusion is formulated about the autonomy of each of the designated areas. Based on this fact, it is assumed that the term "network approach" is used solely as a collective name for different theories and approaches that operate with the concept of a network in different senses.

Abstract:
This paper analyses historical, sociological and normative aspects of the cyber violence in international relations and international law, aiming to assess the adequacy of the extant international norms for its regulation. It results with the knowledge on the lack of international cooperation and a universal approach, the instrumentalisation of the internet as a means of warfare, lacunae in the relevant legal framework, and the peril of compromisation of the international law. Since the social jeopardy of activities in the cyberspace is hardly measurable and subjected to highly arbitrary interpretations, the problem of the uncertain peacetime or belligerent legal qualification of cyber activities is exposed. The other serios problem is a high risk from potentially disproportional responses of states to the cyber violence. Especially due to the lack of universal international institutions in the field of cyber, it must be concluded that the international lege lata applicable to the cyber violence is not adequate and sustainable. The progressive development of international cyber law is thus suggested, through the pacification of the internet and the international criminalisation of cyber violence.

As conceived by its author and his followers, this concept is able to accommodate all the positive aspects and overcome all the shortcomings inherent in the classical forms of democracy. An important aspect of the presentation of this concept in the Ukrainian and Russian language discourse was the analysis of the terminological diversity that defines this phenomenon in modern scientific literature — flexible, moving, transparent, fluid, smooth, negotiable, liquid, fleeting, unstable, delegative, cloudy, self-organizing democracy etc., as well as the search for the most informative, given the social context, terminological definition of this concept in the Ukrainian and Russian language sociological scientific environment. The article analyzes the differences between the new form of democracy proposed by B. Ford and previously known delegative democracy. The need for such an analysis was due to fact, that in his early works B. Ford designated liquid democracy precisely as delegative, which entailed a certain scientific and terminological confusion in scientific discourse. The article discusses the features of a new form of democracy that are associated with the possibilities of using modern information and communication technologies and make liquid democracy an attractive element of the democratization process. The article also defines democratization potential of information and communication technologies.

Abstract:
In spite of the crucial role that conference interpreters play in the world of international affairs and diplomacy, the concept of conference interpreters as an elite has not attracted significant academic interest to date. Building on the author’s previous work (Hoyte-West, 2021), which examined the historical and theoretical aspects of the intersection between conference interpreting and elite sociology, this article reports on the findings of an empirical study with practising conference interpreters. Given increasing interest in sociological aspects of the translational professions, this study is both necessary and timely. In terms of data gathering, snowball sampling was used to disseminate an internet-based survey among professional conference interpreters, with the aim of determining whether conference interpreters viewed themselves as members of an elite. The internet-based survey received 120 responses from freelance, staff, and retired conference interpreters. Using an overwhelmingly quantitative approach, the data was analysed and tabulated, before being subsequently discussed and compared with Khan’s (2012) framework of elite resource areas (political, economic, cultural, social network, and knowledge-based), which had previously been applied to the professional sphere of conference interpreting by the author. As such, it was noted that conference interpreters generally did not view themselves as members of an elite; however, further qualitative research in this area remains both desirable and necessary.

Abstract:
Based on the concept of digital turn in sociology proposed by Professor S.Kravchenko, the authors use the example of specific sociological studies of Russian research centers to conduct a correlation analysis between the digital literacy of the population and its activity in social network communications. Network communications of the population in digital format displace analog formats and contribute to active digital transformations in society as a whole. Digital literacy is considered as an integral indicator that includes information, technical, communication and innovation components. In addition to age and gender differentiation, the level of digital literacy is also influenced by settlement and territorial factors, confirming the existence of an urgent problem of digital inequality. The situation with the ethical side of information literacy is also not clear. This indicator shows how deeply a person reflects on the information found and used. The mass transition to digital technologies observed and actively implemented in the last few years, including their application in network communications, increases not only the innovative, spatial and technological, but also the cognitive distance between generations, not only within the framework of family and interpersonal communications, but also on the scale of industrial, industry and institutional interactions. In today’s digital world, the structural elements of social networks include platforms, online services, or websites designed to build, reflect, and organize people’s social connections. It is the presence of an almost limitless number of information exchanges in social networks that forms a certain system of cybernetic power (cyber power). Cyber power is a complex system of resources structured around the production, exchange, and control of digital information. The cyber power is gradually transformed into a powerful hegemony, i.e., the power of the Internet. a superpower that is not limited to controlling purely cybernetic resources that include structural levels of cyberspace. Not only the communication system is changing, but also the way of thinking, which is becoming an actual subject of research not only for sociologists and psychologists, but also for representatives of many related scientific fields. The concept of a digital turn in sociology, which assumes a humanistic basis for the ongoing transformations, could become a methodological basis for a comprehensive study of the social aspects and consequences of digitalization of modern society.

Information and communication technologies, the Internet in particular, have a significant impact on all the aspects of social life. Therefore, it is necessary to study the problems, consequences, and scale of such influence in the sphere of different scientific disciplines (sociology, psychology, and cultural studies) as well as in the sphere of interdisciplinary discourse. There is a need for research adequate to the current situation of transition to a new technological mode, a digital society, which actualizes the demand for the formation of a new type of personality, a new elite. The new elite will be the bearers of the socio-cultural code of deep and systemic information processing, the owners of electronic culture on the basis of critical digital literacy and reflexivity. At the same time, specific empirical studies of recent years abroad and in Russia demonstrate the predominance of competences of information and communication technologies user, which is absolutely insufficient in the digital society. This research aims to analyze the value-reflexive attitude of Russians to the Internet based on the results of a specific sociological survey among the residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, implemented under the guidance and direct participation of the authors of this article during the period of social restrictions imposed by state authorities in connection with the new coronavirus infection from April to November 2020 by online questionnaire. The research tools included a block of questions on the digitalization of the region, including a number of statements showing the value-reflexive attitude of the respondents to the Internet. The results show that the number of respondents, who regard the Internet as one of the modern civilizational values, exceeds the share of respondents who recognize the dangers of Internet addiction. The authors have revealed that an even smaller percentage of those aware of the relationship of Internet addiction and anonymity on the Internet with the destruction of moral and moral systems, the erasure of the boundaries of personal and public space, psychological problems. A significant proportion of those who exhibit dangerous symptoms of alienation from the real, physical and social world was recorded. It was determined that for the majority of respondents, the Internet space has not become a platform of freedom, creative fulfillment, a friendly environment. The article assumes that economic conditions could become the foundation for bringing people together in the Internet space. Intergenerational differences in the value-reflexive attitude to the Internet space are revealed. The authors draw attention to the fact that the elderly, as the bearers of the deep meanings of traditional cultural forms, reflect the risks and dangers of the Internet space to a greater extent than the young people and adults. The authors link the prospects for further research with the sociological monitoring, which will allow studying the dynamics of digitalization processes in the region, the impact of age characteristics of identity on the attitude to the Internet, and the formation of electronic culture.

Abstract:
Based on online observation of communication in a web-based weight loss forum, this article identifies the relevance of confession and absolution as characteristics of online interactions. Our close study of forum messages, arranged as web diaries open to comments from participants, shows that self-blaming posts elicited absolutional replies. With a primary interest in those personal posts which had a confessional character, we identified three aspects of absolution in replies: collective, prospective and supportive. Of special sociological interest is how online interaction in the forum challenges the concept of ‘civil inattention’ (Goffman, 1971) as a basic social norm for interaction in public spaces. Rather, absolutional attention defines the interactional order within the forum, in which diary authors receive feedback on their accounts of challenges, problems and failures. Studying online communication in detail may contribute to an important theoretical refinement of interactionist sociology, which currently strongly rests on studies from pre-Internet times.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological problems of conceptualizing a new branch of sociological knowledge — digital sociology. The transfer of various aspects of human life to the virtual space (to social networks and new media) has created a number of challenges for the classical social sciences that have never been faced before. The main one is the assessment of the impact of social processes taking place in virtual space on the reality around us. Today, the phenomena emerging on the Internet are invading our “physical” world with increasing intensity, the so-called “real virtuality” is being formed. At the same time, an important aspect is the reverse effect on the virtual world of the processes taking place in social reality. The response to the virtualization of social life was the emergence of a new branch of sociological science — digital sociology. Having originated in the mid-2000s, it is actively developing: the problem Jeld is being clarified, its subject is being concretized, and the methodological toolkit is expanding. At the same time, there are also problems, “bottlenecks” that require comprehension and scientific overcoming.Within the framework of this scientific article, the processes of virtualization of public life, the essence and features of an electronic social network account are considered, the author’s definition of digital sociology is formed, the methodological toolkit is characterized, and the advantages and challenges of digital sociology are identified.

Abstract:
Taking into account great educational potential of historical subjects in the process of personality moral culture development, we define the goal to analyze the experience of distance technologies use connected with pedagogical education development tendencies in the multilevel system of aviation specialists’ training in FA NAU. In the academic year of 2020-2021 the author of the article made an initiative sociological analysis among education applicants – students of Flight Operations and Air Traffic Service Faculty as for the distance technologies use in the educational process in FA NAU. The survey showed that the students of the first year of FA NAU were not ready for the abrupt transition to the distance format of training. The target groups faced technical, organizational and psychological difficulties. Inability to plan and to time, to work on their own appeared for the students to be a serious problem in mastering teaching material. The main problem was educational process technique. Some students do not have necessary technique (the uninterrupted Internet, a web-camera, their own laptop or computer). It is also necessary to emphasize positive aspects of the abrupt transition to the distance format of training. Teachers were forced to master quickly the work on Internet platforms, to learn to develop online courses of academic subjects, to be in active search of effective forms of interaction with students and colleagues using distance technologies. Students had also to study in new environment, to develop communication skills, to time effectively. It became quite obvious that distance education technologies use is not a remote prospect but our day. Studying experience of distance technologies use in FA NAU and other institutions of higher education in Ukraine, it is necessary to aim that LMS MOODLE would contribute to rise level and quality of methodological, didactic, information support of educational process management of education applicants, educationalists and managers of Flight Academy of NAU. Abstract:
This article discusses the protest activity of Russian youth in social media as one of the aspects of the concept of “digital citizenship”. The relevance of the study is due to the expanding influence of digital communications, the possibilities of initiating, disseminating, coordinating and mobilising protest actions in social media. The author outlines the main approaches to the study of the “ageing” of the mood of protest in the digital environment. Based on sociological research, the areas of interest of young users of digital communication are determined, and civic activity of young people is compared online and offline. In the course of the study, the intensity of protest messages on the Internet and social media was established, and the topics of protest content in the digital environment were determined. The study allowed us to identify the most common patterns of behaviour as the reaction of young Internet users to calls for protest actions. The author conducts a role differentiation of the protest audience by gender and age groups, in the direction of training and time spent on the network, as well as ways to receive online news. The research data obtained are correlated with current trends in civic activity in modern societies. Finally, the author indicated the underlying factors contributing to the growth of protest moods.

Abstract:
The social networking influences all areas of society and stimulates the activity of the social networks communities. Later the importance of social networks revised the researches of the sociological aspects of social solidarity. Solidarity of modern society intensifies according to a sharp increase of possibilities to communicate with the help of the social networks that has become tools of forming the online communities. The authors suggest a new term for characteristics of a new solidarity at network communities – online solidarity. This term shows the connotation with the Internet; it also shows that online solidarity arises on micro level of the interpersonal relations. In the article authors analyze the term and characteristics of online solidarity in network communities and represent the results of the original research (questionnaire, 2019) “Students on Social Networks”. The authors come to conclusion that users with lots of “friends” at social networks feel more successful and socially demanded. Despite of its flexibility and lightness online-solidarity plays an important role in the society and has an influence on the macro level of society.

Abstract:
Introduction. Access to social capital allows older people to lead productive, independent and fulfilling lives. Thus, the study of the importance of social capital in an aging population acquires special significance. It identified tasks, among which one of the main is to develop tools and conduct a survey on the level of social capital among the elderly in Ukraine, including from the standpoint of quality of life. Goal. The aim of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and applied aspects of assessing the role of social capital in improving the quality of life of the elderly population. Social capital is one of the resources that can be used to improve the quality of life in old age. Research methods. To solve this scientific problem, structural methods, comparative analysis, empirical data, abstract-logical generalization, statistical and sociological methods were used. Results. The article analyzes current trends, changes in the gender and age structure of the population and assesses the level of population aging compared to other countries. Approaches to the essence of social capital, its components are generalized. A methodology was developed and a sociological survey of elderly people was conducted (250 respondents from Ternopil region were interviewed. The sample was random, stratified by gender and type of settlement). The survey found that older people with strong family, cultural and social ties value their quality of life higher and have better health than people who are socially isolated. It is also important to have access to communication channels, in particular the Internet, which remains insufficient in Ukraine. Conclusions. The consequences of aging are already significant for the Ukrainian economy, which is unable to meet the needs of an aging population. One of the priority areas that will improve the quality of life of older people is the development of social capital. The results of the author's sociological study confirmed that active social connections and social contacts are important for the psychological health of the elderly. However, many of them are single with low social involvement and need social assistance (material and moral).

Abstract:
The genesis of socio-humanitarian and sociological knowledge, namely: understanding and studying the phenomenon of human life, its biological, vital, informational and social aspects has been revealed. The regularity of the transformation of anthropocentrism under the influence of the development of science and technology, the emergence of the concept of post-humanism has been substantiated. The examples of man-made disasters, the use of weapons of mass destruction, as social facts, that had a significant impact on the development of mankind, have been adduced. The conditions for the emergence of object-oriented sociology and the sociology of things have been shown, some scientific approaches have been disclosed within the framework of this concept of Graham Harman, Brun Latour and his followers. Separately, the methodological approaches of the actor-network theory have been disclosed, the main one has been highlighted. Separately, the methodological foundations of cognition of the world of things have been described within the framework of object-oriented sociology, related to the rejection of opposing pairs of the concepts “society and nature”, “truth is non-truth”, “structure and process” and others. The connection of this theory with the sociology of translation has been shown. The characteristic of the problems of development of the scientific and methodological base of digital sociology in the context of changing the content of social relations “man – machine” on the example of the information and communication network Internet has been given. Among them, have been allocated the problems of delegation to digital technologies, more and more powers in solving complex socio-technical problems, the global centralization of digital resources management, the emergence of virtual actors of social interaction. The author reduces specific examples of the use of actor-network theory to interpret the processes and phenomena of interaction between users of Internet resources with individual components of the Internet. Separately, promising areas of research in this area, related to the phenomena of the Internet of things and neuronet, have been highlighted.

Abstract:
On the basis of qualitative sociological surveys, the article presents certain aspects of public opinion of students of the Khabarovsk territory about the activities of the police, real and potential forms of interaction between the police officers and youth, directions of harmonizing relations between these social groups. The study showed that assessments of young people in these aspects are not uniform. In the collective consciousness of young people, the police mostly evoke positive associations. This is due, first of all, to the experience of personal positive interaction of students with the police officers, including as victims, or the experience of friends, acquaintances, relatives of respondents. Presence of similar experience, but substantively negative predetermined the spread of skeptical assessments of the activities of this law enforcement body in the student environment. The media, the Internet, and rumors also have a significant impact on the negative opinion of the police. Despite the presence of an unfavorable perception of the police, many respondents acted in cooperation with the police not only as victims or offenders, but, above all, in the role of those who assisted the police in solving the tasks facing it. The overwhelming majority of respondents expressed their readiness to help the police if necessary. The respondents see the main directions for optimizing interaction between young people and the police and increasing confidence in the latter in transforming the police as a social institution, but not in the society as a whole or Russian youth in particular.

Abstract:
In 2017, the digital revolution reached a new global milestone: every second inhabitant of our planet was connected to the Internet. The Digital Economy Program approved by the Government of the Russian Federation in July 2017 aims to address ambitious tasks dictated by new requirements to the public administration system and the organization and structure of the state apparatus of the Russian Federation. The mission of implementing digital technologies in public administration should involve improving the quality of the latter, primarily the quality of public services and management of the implementation of national projects (programs) aimed at ensuring Russia’s economic growth.Aim. The presented study aims to determine priority areas and directions of public administration in the context of the implementation of digital technologies at the federal and regional levels.Tasks. The authors rank the constituent entities and federal districts of the Russian Federation by the extent to which the potential of digital technologies is realized in all aspects of national economic activity and identify the leading constituent entities and federal districts of the Russian Federation in terms of the implementation of digital technologies in public administration.Methods. This study uses general scientific methods of cognition and the scientific sociological quantitative method for ranking the constituent entities and federal districts of the Russian Federation in terms of the implementation of digital technologies in public administration.Results. The authors conclude that regulatory and legal acts need to be specified at the federal level in matters of project implementation in the context of digital technologies. With respect to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the study identifies factors that affect the uneven development of digitalization, particularly the under-qualified staff, lack of project funding in regions, digital divide, and problems of creating a new regulatory environment.Conclusions. The development of digital technologies requires close cooperation between public bodies across all levels of the executive branch. It should be noted that the methodology of forming a digital government itself facilitates the establishment of the necessary conditions for addressing national economic challenges, including those associated with strategic planning based on unified digital information platforms. This aspect is crucial for the development of the Russian economy. Thus, digitalization should lay the groundwork for the further implementation of results-based management by the government.

Abstract:
The article examines the factors influencing the non-active participation of Moscow students in the political life of society. It is noted that, as a rule, passive and active political absenteeism is distinguished in the worldview of the capital's youth. The results of the study conducted by the authors showed that the majority of respondents are interested in political events in the country and the capital, but only a small part of them purposefully follow the changes and dynamics of political life in Moscow and Russia. The Internet as the main source of information of the capital's students, other popular channels provide many opportunities to gain the necessary knowledge about politics in a digital society, but a large information flow and its lack of consistency, and often frankly "fake", distorted information do not allow students to fully understand various aspects of political life, respondents often demonstrate the superficiality of their political views. The purpose of our work is to study the nature of political absenteeism in the worldview of Moscow students. The consideration of the problem was based on the results of an initiative targeted political and sociological study among students of three Moscow universities conducted through the Internet platform Google Forms. A sociological survey in the form of an online questionnaire was chosen as the most representative method of collecting empirical data. The sample is a target, quota by gender (N=210). To analyze the results obtained, the following general scientific methods were used: description, analysis, synthesis, classification. The analysis of the survey results showed that municipal elections arouse the least interest among respondents, federal elections are the greatest, but at the same time every third respondent is subject to absenteeism. Among the main reasons was the lack of confidence in the institution of elections, as well as the predictability of their results. The upcoming presidential elections of the Russian Federation in 2024 arouse considerable interest among students. The respondents' protest potential was also studied. The majority of respondents prefer conventional forms of protest and have a sharply negative attitude to various manifestations of extremism. The novelty of the study is to identify the features of the manifestation of absenteeism of student youth in a megalopolis. The prospect of further research is to consider the dynamics of the attitude of students to political participation, as well as regional differences in the types and manifestations of absenteeism in the worldview of the younger generation of Russia.

The empirical basis of the article was the results of a sociological survey conducted among the students of Togliatti State University in 2021 (N=287).The analysis of the survey results shows that the students’ views on distance learning in history are divided. About half of the students are positive about this mode of study, and the other half are negative. There were more respondents among young males, as well as technical students, who described the history distance learning sessions positively. The students are attracted by the extensive use of Internet sources and visual materials. Among girls, as well as humanities students, there are more of those who have a negative attitude towards distance learning in history. The negative aspects are related to technical problems, as well as the lack of direct communication with the teacher. The respondents who do not have a high level of interest in studying history are more likely to express a positive attitude towards distance learning. In contrast, the respondents who are interested in history are more likely to have a negative attitude towards this form of training.

Abstract:
On the basis of the latest research and data of sociological sources, the article examines the revival of religious institutions in Russia in the late 20th – early 21th century. The relevance of scientific research is due to the important role of religious institutions in the process of development of civilization, culture, ideological education and social consciousness. Religion has been and remains the basis of an ideological instrument in any state since its inception. The evolvement and development of a rule-of-law state largely depends on the level of civil society development and on the ideological orientation of the population, which, in turn, is an objective social basis of a democratic state. In the last few decades, the issues of religion have been very actively covered in the media, religious programs have been appearing on TV, clerics are invited to talk shows, and the internet is filled with religious sites. The relationship between the existence of religious associations and changes in the socio-political situation in the country in individual confessions, including by changing the dynamics of their number is shown. Like any social institution, religion has its own special cultural symbols, which in an extremely concentrated form create a religious picture of the world in public consciousness. The level of civil society development is largely determined by the existence of autonomous public associations that unite the society and ensure its effective interaction with the state. The conclusion about the development of a certain system of institutional norms in the change of ideological standards in the modern Russian Federation is formed. Special attention is paid to the regional aspect of the problem on the materials of the Mari El Republic.

Abstract:
Summary Vaporwave grabs the attention of internet voyager with harsh collages glued together in a technically primitive manner. It’s a cultural phenomenon which both originated and is active solely on the internet. In the context of general internet culture Vaporwave is exclusive in its aesthetics due to the domination of violet and pink colors, technically primitive quality of texts, fetishization of 8th and 9th decade mainstream commodities and acute nostalgic undertones. Vaporwave has been mostly explored as a music genre or sociological phenomenon, while its visual aspect has mostly remained unattended. This article seeks to analyze the conceptual aspects embodied within Vaporwave visuals, to briefly compare them with music, and to unpack the mechanism of nostalgia as an affective entry point to the movement. The interpretation is mainly lead by Jean Baudrillard’s theory of hyperreality, and interpretational principles of hermeneutics. Five Tumblr blogs were analyzed. Hermeneutic inquiry into the texts yielded seven distinct symbol categories differentiated by the affect they generate: nostalgic commodities, idyllic classics, melancholic landscapes, harsh distortions, gentle geometry, depressive texts, and ecstatic brands. Each of these categories here are elaborated in detail finally summarizing the multilayered symbolism of the movement. It can be described as nostalgically challenging visual conventions through harsh technical quality and opposing codes of behavior through open expressions of depression and melancholy, thus exposing the doubts of individual imprisoned in postmodern society. ’80s and ’90s here become hyperreal fantasy lands of the past where a nostalgic individual can find refuge. In comparison to music, the visual aspect of Vaporwave highlights the technology as central artefacts of nostalgia, introduces new ways to analyze late capitalist consumer culture, and brings an intimate dialogue with hyperreality to the front. The article suggests that Vaporwave is a post-ironic art movement which both celebrates and criticizes capitalism, finally remaining vague whether there are ways to escape the system, and whether these ways should even be looked for.

Abstract:
Abstract This article reflects upon a mobile art ethnography that sought to understand and rethink some of the tensions around regional/rural experiences of the digital. Using creative practice-based methods, it provides new insights into this regional/urban divide through the motif of working mother commuter as digital wayfarer, a term used to define on/offline digital entanglement through the lived experience of quotidian wayfaring. It contributes to debates around mobile communication and mobile media studies by connecting conceptual analysis of mobilities and its relationship to regional commuting with a creative approach to movement, play and a sense of place. Much of the academic research on mobile media and internet studies stems from an urban focus rather than engaging in the unevenness of the online as is much of the experience in the rural region of North Central Victoria, Australia. Being a working mother commuter for almost a decade, the researcher also took an autobiographical approach to aspects of this project through the lens of digital wayfaring. The artefact used ethnographic case study methods and is a creative non/ fiction sound and moving imagery work made using the mobile phone, within the context of the regional Vline train. Utilising sonified global positioning system (GPS) data as part of the soundscape, it addressed problems in the production of this train activity (i. e. work, creativity, play, rest and playbour) regarding social and material participation of the commute infrastructure and overlaid internet connections. It showed how multisensorial art-making highlights the commute to be a journey to and from - and of - work, within the ecology of the Vline train, and therefore provides new ways of perceiving this copresent, mediated and entangled digital experience.

Abstract:
The emphasis on youth in the information and propaganda space allows the use of new improved methods of influencing consciousness (including through ICT), to form stable patterns, socio-political attitudes that have a prolonged effect. The article analyzes certain aspects of the information and propaganda counteraction to terrorism in Russia, describes the theoretical and methodological foundations of its study. The empirical part was the analysis of the results of the author's sociological research of the opinions of the youth of the Kursk region. The ideological motive for the spread of terrorism is the most multifaceted and difficult to eradicate. Information and propaganda counteraction to terrorism, according to the authors, is a complex of interrelated information and propaganda measures aimed at the objects of influence in order to change and block antisocial behaviors based on the ideology of terrorism, and the formation, preservation and reproduction of significant patterns of behavior for the sustainable development of society. Indicators of measuring the level of information and propaganda counteraction to terrorism in Russia are the basis of an empirical study. There is a widespread opinion among the youth of the Kursk region that ideology is closely linked to terrorism, and that Russian society needs an anti-terrorist ideology. The presence in Russian society of common goals, national ideas and awareness of past achievements can form its basis. According to young respondents, the information impact should be of a complex nature, ranging from the presence of important competencies of representatives of authorities and law enforcement agencies to the creation of an effective system of limiting information through various communication channels. Young respondents are more convinced that there should be a state body in Russia that counteracts extremism and terrorism in the information space. Young people pay special attention to professional training in countering terrorism. The work on carrying out propaganda anti-extremist actions in the Internet space with the involvement of bloggers, among others, will contribute to such counteraction. The younger generation is confident that social networks and virtual space contribute to the spread of terrorism to varying degrees. In general, sociological measurements have shown the presence of a number of risks and factors that worsen the work of the system of information and propaganda counteraction to terrorism. The first aspect is associated with the low efficiency of the communication channels used. According to the Kursk youth, such work should not be limited to actions in one area of communications. The system of information and propaganda counteraction to terrorism should combine a whole range of multidirectional measures using traditional channels and methods of communication in combination with ICT. Working with bloggers can become an effective method and channel of informational influence on young people. The second problem is based on the low level of Internet literacy of some Kursk youth. Some young people do not see the threat of terrorism in the Internet space. This category can become potentially vulnerable and influenced by the ideology of terrorism. The third aspect is related to the formation of a culture of countering terrorism in Russia, which should be based on rejection of the ideology of terrorism, increasing legal responsibility, the general level of education and a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract:
In recent years, there has been an increased interest in research into religiosity of different generations, especially Millenials. In this paper, we will examine the relationship of Generation Z to religion. As the most numerous population, characterised by insecurity and concern for the socio-economic and security aspects of the world in which we live, by digital mediation and socialisation accompanied by the availability of the Internet, by racial and ethnic diversity, and by supporting individual freedom and sexual amorphousness, they are the first post-Christian generation as well, shaping the world like no other generation to this day. Given the aforementioned, the subject of our research is the religious and spiritual values that this generation cultivates. The paper uses secondary data derived from the Pew Research Center research, as well as studies based on qualitative and quantitative research comparing different generation cohorts. The paper consists of three parts, with the first part presenting the sociological characteristics of Generation Z, the second one explaining the popular concepts of modern religiosity together with the respective pieces of criticism, and the final one observing Generation Z as representatives of the post-Christian world. Considering the overall social transformation that accompanies this generation, in conclusion we find that Generation Z treats religion and elements of religion as trends, that there is a search for 'religious shortcuts', i.e. that it channels its spirituality through rituals and ceremonies that meet their current needs and are not necessarily related to one religion.

Abstract:
The article presents the theme which is connected with programme and syllabus of the department of teacher education and create a question what place the anthropology of child and childhood may take in Polish studies of the 21st century. After many years of laborious research on children’s culture, children’s folklore, ethnography of childhood, sociology of childhood, and children’s pedagogy and psychology, after the discussions about “childhood reinvented” and many “breakthroughs” in studies about the interdisciplinary nature of such research (from Ellen Key’s work, to Janusz Korczak, to Philippe Ariés and Paul Hazard), knowledge of children and youth’s literature and of children’s culture, eventually became a part of Polish studies’ programmes at the university level. In modern times, an additional source of materials are journals and memoirs, which help understand both traumatic and ludic experiences of the child better. Traumatic experiences often appear to be taboo. A special place is reserved for children’s reports of the Holocaust. Our times, which bring many threats to the young (crisis of family, drugs, sexual abuse, child prostitution, homelessness, religious sects, exploitation at work, excessive consumerism, Internet addiction, etc.), are a domain for sociology of childhood and adolescence. Therefore, it seems that a new field of knowledge about childhood is needed, a field that takes into consideration the following, previously neglected aspects: historical, sociological, political-scientific, and ethnographic with the context of children’s folklore, also indeterminacy of child’s social role.
