Abstract:
Automatic Identification System (AIS) has recently become the leading issue in maritime navigation and traffic management worldwide. The present AIS solution, based on a VHF data communications scheme, provides AIS functionalities for SOLAS (AIS Class A) vessels only in a limited environment defined by radio propagation properties. Here we present a novel approach in AIS development based on current mobile communication technologies. It utilises existing mobile communications equipment that the majority of targetted end-users own and are familiar with. A novel AIS concept aims to offer a transition of AIS data traffic to mobile Internet. An innovative AIS architecture supports AIS data processing, storing and transferring to authorised parties. This enhances not only the operational area, but also provides the global AIS with data transfer security and an improved aids-for-navigation service, with all legally traceable vessels (both AIS Class A and AIS Class B) included in the system. In order to provide the development framework for Internet AIS, a set of essential four use-cases, a communication protocol and the first Internet AIS prototype have been recently developed and are briefly introduced in this article.

Abstract:
Recent years have seen a rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the growth of autonomous robotic applications which are using network communications. Accordingly, an increasing advancement of intelligent devices with wireless sensors (that means autonomous robotic platforms) operating in challenging environments makes robots a tangible reality in the near future. Unfortunately, as a result of technical development, security problems emerge, especially when considering human–robot collaboration. Two abnormalities often compromise the basic security of collaborative robotic fleets: (a) Information faults and (b) system failures. This paper attempts to describe the methodology of a control framework design for secure robotic systems aided by the Internet of Things. The suggested concept represents a control system structure using blocks as the components. The structure is designed for the robots expected to interact with humans safely and act connected by communication channels. The properties of the components and relations between them are briefly described. The novelty of the proposed concept concerns the security mechanisms. The paper also categorizes two different modes of network attacks summarizing their causal effects on the human–robot collaboration systems. The issue of standardization is also raised. In particular, the works of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and European Parliament (EP) on the security templates for communication channels are commented.

Abstract:
Enabling haptic communication as well as voice and data over the future 5G cellular system has become a demand. Tactile Internet is one of the main use cases of the 5G system that will allow the transfer of haptic communications in real time. Latency, availability, reliability, and security are the main design challenges of the tactile Internet system and haptic based bilateral teleoperation systems. An end-to-end latency of 1 ms remains the main challenge toward tactile Internet system realization, not only for the processing and coding delays but mainly for the limitations of light. In this work, we analyze the key solutions to overcome the light limitations and enable the tactile Internet over any distances with the required latency. Building a virtual model or model mediated for the remote environment at the edge cloud unit near to the end user is the main solution. By means of AI, the virtual model can predict the behavior of the remote environment and thus, the end user can interact with the virtual environment with a high system experience. This literature review covers the existing work of the model mediated bilateral teleoperated systems and discusses its availability for the tactile Internet system. Furthermore, the security issues of tactile Internet system and the effect of model mediated system on the required security level of tactile Internet applications are discussed. Finally, a structure for the tactile Internet system, with the deployment of model mediation, is suggested.

Abstract:
IoT-based applications operate in a client–server architecture, which requires a specific communication protocol. This protocol is used to establish the client–server communication model, allowing all clients of the system to perform specific tasks through internet communications. Many data communication protocols for the Internet of Things are used by IoT platforms, including message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT), advanced message queuing protocol (AMQP), MQTT for sensor networks (MQTT-SN), data distribution service (DDS), constrained application protocol (CoAP), and simple object access protocol (SOAP). These protocols only support single-topic messaging. Thus, in this work, an IoT message protocol that supports multi-topic messaging is proposed. This protocol will add a simple “brain” for IoT platforms in order to realize an intelligent IoT architecture. Moreover, it will enhance the traffic throughput by reducing the overheads of messages and the delay of multi-topic messaging. Most current IoT applications depend on real-time systems. Therefore, an RTOS (real-time operating system) as a famous OS (operating system) is used for the embedded systems to provide the constraints of real-time features, as required by these real-time systems. Using RTOS for IoT applications adds important features to the system, including reliability. Many of the undertaken research works into IoT platforms have only focused on specific applications; they did not deal with the real-time constraints under a real-time system umbrella. In this work, the design of the multi-topic IoT protocol and platform is implemented for real-time systems and also for general-purpose applications; this platform depends on the proposed multi-topic communication protocol, which is implemented here to show its functionality and effectiveness over similar protocols.

Abstract:
LoRa, Sigfox, and Narrowband-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) are some of the long-distance, low-power wireless communication technologies developed in the recent past. The proposed system consists of mainly nodes and a gateway as the fundamental system architecture. Nodes only communicate with the gateway individually and the gateway communicates with all the nodes separately and wirelessly. System in this proposed study, uses long range low power RF wireless communication technique for primary data communication, where an Internet connection will not be required for the communication between the gateway and the nodes. Any number of nodes can be paired with the gateway, and the gateway can individually communicate with each and every node. Furthermore, gateways have the ability of storing real-time data. Due to its unique design, the proposed system in this study, can achieve addressable, bidirectional, and continuous data communication even without the Internet connection. The bidirectional communication design of this proposed system facilitates real time and uninterrupted simultaneous handling of monitoring/sensor devices and controller devices without the need of a separate controlling system. As this system consists of those unique features, it is recommended to use in the rural areas underserved by current internet and telecommunication technologies. With the in-built option to get connected to the Internet, this system can be further expanded to an IoT based addressable data communication, processing, and visualization systems by eliminating the major technical problems in typical IoT systems such as interrupted communication and data losses during an Internet connection failure, power concerns and customization issues.

Abstract:
To successfully establish a unified and standardized Internet of Things (IoT) system, a specific scheme based on the bandwidth and quality of service (QoS) analysis as well as the third generation mobile communication system is given. The basic architecture of the IoT is introduced, the technical requirements of each level on the network are put forward, and the application of the IoT system in different industries is established. At the same time, a congestion control algorithm based on the application layer is proposed. This algorithm can greatly enhance the adaptability and controllability of the communication network of the IoT. Moreover, when the system is in normal operation, the algorithm can reasonably allocate and optimize bandwidth resources, thus greatly saving network traffic. The algorithm tests the current network state through the network test module, and then determines whether the data is sent according to the test results to ensure that the system has sufficient resources to respond to the sudden situation.

Abstract.Canadian political parties have been using the Internet as a campaign tool since the 1997 election.Rebuilding Canadian Party Politicsby Carty, Cross and Young (2000) presents one of the first analyses of Internet-based communications during a Canadian election. It is also one of the most important assessments of Canadian party systems. The book outlines the components that characterize the fourth party system, which they argue, began after the 1993 election. Regionalization is the defining characteristic of this emerging system. The book argues that the Internet, like other communication technologies, is important in this latest party system. Consistent with the notion of regionalized campaign communications, the authors suggest that Canadian political parties use the Internet to target campaign messages to different regional and sociodemographic groups and enter into private conversations with voters. Using original data collected from the 2004 federal election, this paper reflects on these claims. The paper builds the case that the use of the Internet as a campaign tool is not consistent with their argument. Internet-based campaign communications in Canada by the major parties is neither regionalized nor targeted. Rather, this technology makes campaign communication more transparent and centralized.Résumé.

Abstract:
In the current Internet-based systems, there are many problems using anonymity of the network communication such as personal information leak and crimes using the Internet systems. This is because the TCP/IP protocol used in Internet systems does not have the user identification information on the communication data, and it is difficult to supervise the user performing the above acts immediately. As a solution for solving the above problem, there is the approach of Policy-based Network Management (PBNM). This is the scheme for managing a whole Local Area Network (LAN) through communication control of every user. In this PBNM, two types of schemes exist. The first is the scheme for managing the whole LAN by locating the communication control mechanisms on the course between network servers and clients. The second is the scheme of managing the whole LAN by locating the communication control mechanisms on clients. As the second scheme, we have been studied theoretically about the Destination Addressing Control System (DACS) Scheme. By applying this DACS Scheme to Internet system management, we realize the policy-based Internet system management. In this paper, we show the DACS system theoretically.

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is the most recent technology platform. We may regulate our daily routine work, such as home applications, control, and simple communication systems, using IOT, and improve our digital services. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system that intelligently adds everyday content information to the internet in order to facilitate communication between objects and humans, as well as among themselves. In this study, we demonstrate how IoT can improve home automation. The relay, Node MCU, which is a network access component, is used in our suggested system. We can control that equipment using an IoT-based system technique. Mobile phones, computers, and tablets are used as user interfaces in home automation systems. They can connect to the home automation network through a wireless internet connection. The user will interact with the system directly via the control interface, while home appliances will be controlled remotely via a mobile app. An additional aspect of the home automation system is that it may be protected remotely. This redesigned design concept provided a home automation system that could be controlled efficiently. Keywords: IOT, home automation, smart home, relay, response time, Node MCU (ESP8266)

Abstract:
We present the fundamentals of a cryptographic method based on a hyperchaotic system and a protocol which inherits some properties of the quantum cryptography that can be straightforwardly applied on the existing communication systems of nonoptical communication channels. It is an appropriate tool to provide security on software applications for VoIP, as in Skype, dedicated to voice communication through Internet. This would enable that an information packet be sent through Internet preventing attacks with strategies similar to that employed if this same packet is transferred in an optical channel under a quantum cryptographic scheme. This method relies on fundamental properties possessed by chaotic signals and coupled chaotic systems. Some of these properties have never been explored in secure communications.

Abstract:
“CyberCut™” is a testbed for an Internet-based CAD/CAM system. It was specifically designed to be a networked, automated system, with a seamless communication flow from a client-side designer to a server-side machining service. The creation of CyberCut required several new software modules. These include: a) a Web-based design tool in which Design-for-Manufacturing information and machining rules constrain the designer to manufacturable parts; b) a geometric representation called SIF-DSG, for unambiguous communication between the client-side designer and the server-side process planner; c) an automated process planning system with several sub-modules that convert an incoming design to a set of tool-paths for execution on a 3-axis CNC milling machine. Using this software-pipeline, a CyberCut service, modeled on the MOSIS service for VLSI chips, has been now been launched for limited student-use at a group of cooperating universities.

Abstract:
Summary Objectives: We developed a new telediagnosis system to securely transmit high-quality endoscopic moving images over the Internet in real time. This system would enable collaboration between physicians seeking advice from endoscopists separated by long distances, to facilitate diagnosis. Methods: We adapted a new type of digital video streaming system (DVTS) to our teleendoscopic diagnosis system. To investigate its feasibility, we conducted a two-step experiment. A basic experiment was first conducted to transmit endoscopic video images between hospitals using a plain DVTS. After investigating the practical usability, we incorporated a secure and reliable communication function into the system, by equipping DVTS with “TCP2”, a new security technology that establishes secure communication in the transport layer. The second experiment involved international transmission of teleendoscopic image between Hawaii and Japan using the improved system. Results: In both the experiments, no serious transmission delay was observed to disturb physicians’ communications and, after subjective evaluation by endoscopists, the diagnostic qualities of the images were found to be adequate. Moreover, the second experiment showed that “TCP2-equipped DVTS” successfully executed high-quality secure image transmission over a long distance network. Conclusions: We conclude that DVTS technology would be promising for teleendoscopic diagnosis. It was also shown that a high quality, secure teleendoscopic diagnosis system can be developed by equipping DVTS with TCP2.

Abstract:
The evolution of the Internet of vehicles and growing use of mobile devices has created a demand for new wireless communication technologies. Optical camera communication, which uses light-emitting diodes as transmitters and cameras as receivers, has emerged as a promising alternative. Since light-emitting diodes and cameras are already exploring in traffic lights, vehicles, and public lightings, optical camera communication has the potential to intelligently handle transport systems. Although other technologies have been proposed or developed in both academia and industry, they are not yet mature enough to uphold the huge requirements of the Internet of vehicles. This study introduces a new intelligent Internet of vehicles system based on optical camera communication combined with convolutional neural networks. Optical camera communication is a promising candidate for maintaining interference-free and more robust communication, for supporting the Internet of vehicles. Convolutional neural network is introduced for precise detection and recognition of light-emitting diode patterns at long distances and in bad weather conditions. We propose an algorithm to detect the interested light-emitting diode signals (i.e. regions-of-interest), measure the distance using a stereo-vision technique to find out the desired targets, and simulate our proposed scheme using a MATLAB Toolbox. Thus, our system will provide great advantages for next-generation transportation systems.

Abstract:
The article reveals the features of word-formative development of new English lexical units in online communication. As is known, syntheticity is typological feature of Ukrainian word-formation. Contact of two typologically different languages – English with Ukrainian is leading to increased of the class of indeclinable nouns in the Modern Ukrainian. Indeclinable nouns are bases in compound words in Ukrainian. Indeclinable nouns and adjectives create problems in the creation of compound words. Differentiation bases indeclinable adjective from the noun is impossible without context. Also, the accumulation of vowels (медіа–аналіз) or consonants (бізнес–структура) is a violation of typological features of the Ukrainian language. Proved that incomplete adaptation of new English borrowing in the grammatical system of Ukrainian is cause of problems writing new compound words. To solve the problem of spelling compound words, words should be properly qualified as composites (should be write together) or yukstapozytes (should be write with a hyphen). Composites also formed without binders interfiks so-called half composite (арт–школа, медіа–арт). English are influenced on such qualitative changes in the structure of compound words. An important practical recommendation is the need to adapt the new English borrowing in Ukrainian grammatical system. It is necessary to adapt the lexical units of analytical language according to the requirements of the Ukrainian: provide the category of gender, number, case. Also not recommended to expand the class of indeclinable nouns and adjectives. These phenomena reflect the trends of the modern Ukrainian lexicon updating.
