Abstract:
The business activities of any enterprise are conducted in the international market, which is influenced by various factors such as international politics, the economy, and so on. An enterprise environment can create opportunities for a business and can also pose a threat to a business. Therefore, in order for an enterprise to develop for a long time, it must study the environment and actively adapt to it. This article examines the environmental problems of clothing companies and analyzes the degree to which different clothing companies implement the environment on their websites, with the aim of providing effective measures for enterprises to adapt to the environment and long-term development. To analyze and evaluate the environment of a garment enterprise, first of all, it depends on the physical environment of the enterprise, clothing materials or the implementation effect of external publicity. The second is to analyze the enterprise environment. Enterprise environment analysis includes macro-environment analysis and micro-environment analysis. For the macroenvironment of an enterprise, it is necessary to grasp the political, economic, technological and social and cultural aspects.

Abstract:
The article deals with a current trend of the global energy market, which is characterized by rising tension in relations between the performers of the energy market regulation mechanisms, and it leads to the emergence of alternative energy sources. The article is called to identify the causes of renewable energy markets nascence, to make comparative description of Ukrainian and European Renewable Energy Markets attractiveness, and to characterize the state policy change in a renewable energy market. Different interpretation of nature and classification of the field of renewable energy in foreign and Ukrainian approaches shows the problem of legal criteria of renewable energy markets regulation. It is proved the existence of double barrier penetration of the European market for renewable energy for Ukrainian companies, which includes compliance with the accepted EU Directives and compliance with the Rules of each member individually. The presence of clearly defined standards and certificates of quality for the European market allows producers to show the competitiveness of Ukrainian products in the international market and stimulate Ukrainian manufacturers. The presence of clearly formulated laws, stable and balanced political and legal environment of the EU allows Ukrainian producers of renewable energy to develop such a strategy that considers the time factor, as the primary parameter of competitiveness in international business. The market of solid biofuels in EU is under formation, its development timeframe and uncertainty of environmental risks becoming is especially important for Ukrainian producers.

Abstract:
Global cities arebecoming increasingly important players in the global system. They bring together different cultures, ideas and business opportunities. Understanding their role and functions in global economic governance and international information exchange is key to developing strategies for economic growth, creating favourable conditions for doing business and increasing the competitiveness of countries. The study of this problem has been based on the consideration of various aspects, such as economic activity, transnational governance, information communications, technological development and political participation, which determine the role of global cities. Using methods of comparative analysis, sociological, geographical research and other approaches, the article offers a deeper understanding of the functions of global cities and their impact on the world economy and international information communications. The functional significance of global cities as centres of global economic governance is determined mainly by the scale of their gross regional product, huge economic potential, as well as management and control of the global economy, which is due to the level of concentration of headquarters of large multinational companies, key institutions of the international financial market, mainly transnational banks, advanced business services companies, etc.Global cities are the backbone of the global economic and political system, leading global financial and economic processes, managing global financial flows, and having developed infrastructure and access to a wide range of services. Multinational enterprises actively use the advantages of the transport, political, social and economic position of global cities. In turn, these enterprises have a significant impact on global economic and political processes, contributing to the globalisation of city functions.Since the functional significance of global cities is expressed in many aspects, based on the analysis of available data, reports and studies, they are systematised into two groups: centres of global economic management and centres of international information communications. The characteristic of global cities according to these groups is due to the constant development and expansion of strong ties between countries and the destruction of existing barriers through technological communications and networking.

Abstract:
In modern conditions, obtaining information about market dynamics, trends in demand, and alternative offers from competitors is vital to support the effective operation of enterprises. It is also common business practice to discuss legislative initiatives, non-confidential technical information, quality and safety standards, and various aspects of the industry. However, the direct or indirect exchange of information may be accompanied by various wrongful intentions of economic entities (for example, elimination of competitors, creation of entry barriers, agreement on price levels, certain discounts, sales volumes, and the market's geographical distribution, etc.). In Ukraine, there are currently no analogues of a full-fledged guide to information exchange between competitors, which determined the relevance of this study. The purpose of the study is to establish regulatory, economic principles for assessing the exchange of information between enterprises operating in the relevant market, in the context of compliance with legislation on protection of economic competition; analysis of the progressive international practice of cessation of violations in the form of information exchange, which leads to distortion of economic competition. In Ukraine, it is necessary to adopt the Guidelines for the Exchange of Information between Competitors (from now on referred to as "the Guidelines"), raising awareness of the business community (including associations and chambers of commerce), lawyers, and society in general regarding the main aspects of the competition compliance with competition law in order to promote fair business activities, protect the competitive environment and, as a consequence, improve consumer welfare.

Abstract:
Small innovative and venture enterprises face significant financial and managerial difficulties in the early stages of their development, which makes it necessary to provide them with sufficient support at the start. Different governments choose different ways to solve this problem. In Russia, in the 2010s, an emphasis was made on creating business incubators as SME support infrastructure and key players (as well as a potential driver) of regional entrepreneurial ecosystems. Nevertheless, the latest official data shows that the number of business incubators in Russia has gradually declined over the past five years, making it a critical phenomenon to analyze. We conducted a comprehensive survey among a selection of Russian business incubators.Comparing the world BI average characteristics (secondary data from InBIA, International Business Innovation Association) and UBI Global (the data obtained through Surveys conducted in 2012, 2016, and 2020) helps us understand the actual state and dynamics of business incubation in Russia. The surveys contain a wide range of questions covering essential aspects of business incubators' activities, including BI program, clients, environment, effectiveness, and finance. The study shows that business incubators in Russia have undergone several external positive changes, including increased square space, staff quantity, the average annual number of residents, the annual budget, etc. At the same time, the total number of business incubators also significantly dropped, which means that all of the above positive changes do not reflect the growth of the business incubation market and the scaling of the most effective structures; on the contrary, it is an optimization. As a result of the study, we formulate several additional questions for future research and study to understand better the challenges business incubators currently face in Russia, the reasons for their recent consolidation, and possible ways out.

Abstract:
AbstractBusiness negotiation support systems (NSS) are slowly entering the market, although they lack a clear theoretical basis as of yet. Negotiation is a complicated process with many aspects that have only partially been described with the formal rigidity needed to build support systems. Most theories about negotiation are descriptive and not prescriptive, which, among other things, prevents their use as a basis for negotiation support systems. Complicating matters is that a negotiation process consists of several distinct stages, each with its own characteristics. Furthermore, there are many types of negotiations, depending on the domain. This suggests that we should not strive for one general negotiation support system, but for a set of domain-specific tools. To ground the development and application of these tools in different scenarios, we propose an integrated theoretical framework. After presenting an overview of existing negotiation support approaches, we construct a business negotiation support metamodel for NSS analysis. The metamodel is illustrated by analyzing the MeMo project, which concerns contract negotiations in small and medium enterprises in the European construction industry. The MeMo system is one of the first business NSS with an explicit international orientation.

Abstract International business research is usually focused on various aspects of foreign direct investment (FDI) by non-European emerging-market multinational enterprises (EMNEs) without attention to non-traditional factors pulling them into host countries. The objective of this paper is to examine the investments of EMNEs from two source countries, China and Russia, within the Visegrad Four (V4) economies. Based on interviews and a qualitative document analysis, it explores the main characteristics of their investments into the V4, including host-country determinants by focusing on macroeconomic, institutional and political factors. The paper finds that these factors do influence EMNEs’ investment practices, and that they correlate with the changing quality of political relations, but this influence needs to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Abstract:
AbstractSignificant progress has been made in recent years in the development of enterprise policy in the Western Balkans. Issues remain, however, in the support provided for innovative enterprises. In this paper we use data from the 2005 Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey to identify the determinants of innovation in locally-owned firms in the Western Balkans and compare these to the other CEEE countries and the CIS. Based on an econometric examination of the innovation production function in each area we observe marked differences in the determinants of innovation. First, in the Western Balkan countries (WBCs) R&D and higher-level skills have little impact on firms' innovation outputs, a result which contrasts strongly with results for the CEEE, CIS and other more developed economies. Second, we find no evidence of innovation benefits from urban locations in innovation in the WBCs or that public support is having any positive effect on innovation outcomes. Again, this experience is at odds with evidence from other regions. Third, innovation outputs in the WBCs are being negatively influenced by aspects of the business environment. These results suggest a need for an active and rather interventionist innovation policy in the WBCs to address these system failures. A range of policy options are developed.

Abstract:
A number of international organizations have published recently the forecasts concerning aspects of economic impact exerted by corona-virus pandemic. In July update of economic outlook for 2020 the IMF forecast a drop in global GDP by 4.9% in 2020, which is lower by 1.9 per cent point in comparison with the April forecast, which will be followed by partial restoration and growth by 5.4% in 2021. The report on global investment for July 2020 shows a downfall in global foreign investment to 40% in 2020 and later its further decline by 10% in 2021. MOT estimates the COVID-19 impact, which will cause an increase in global unemployment by 5.3 m (a low scenario) and 24.7 m (a high scenario). It proves that support of business activity will be especially difficult for small and medium enterprises. The article shows how COVID-19 pandemic influences entities of small and medium entrepreneurship (SME) and demonstrates first evidences and estimations of its impact. It also provides a list of political steps aimed at raising SME sustainability in 60 countries. Taking into account the fact that the situation is changing very fast, the review of possible steps is not exhaustive, in some cases it includes political measures only planned for implementation that are being still discussed or considered. The latest surveys of enterprises showed a certain improvement of the situation connected with serious political efforts aimed at elimination of liquidity deficit at small and medium enterprises and suspension of local restrictions in some countries. In this context political perspective is slowly shifting from measures of supporting liquidity for SME entities, which are still a priority in the majority of countries, to measures of supporting restoration.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to study the theoretical and methodological aspects of defining the definitions of "safety", "economic safety" and "economic safety of a construction enterprise". It is proved that the security of the society is characterized as an interrelation of three components: political stability, economic prosperity and defense capability of the state, which depend, in turn, both on certain internal and external parameters. Summarizing the understanding of the essence of security, the authors claim that security is a category that characterizes the state of security for the subject and the ability to resist threats. Seven stages in the development of the definition of "security" have been identified and characterized, starting from ancient times and up to our time. Carrying out a comparative analysis of the definitions of scientists regarding the essence of the economic security of an enterprise, two main approaches to its understanding are highlighted, according to which it is possible to systematize the definition: the first is a narrow one, according to which economic security is considered from the standpoint of the enterprise's security and ability to eliminate threats; the second is much broader, which includes definitions based on the established goals of the enterprise's operation. The authors proved that the formation of a system for evaluating the economic security of a construction enterprise requires studying the specifics of the industry. The specificity of the construction industry lies in its influence on other branches of the national economy of the country. It is the priority basis of economic growth; it forms the structure of the economy by implementing part of the investments in the fixed capital of other branches of production. It is substantiated that the formation of a system for evaluating the economic security of a construction enterprise requires the study of the specifics of the industry. The specificity of the construction industry lies in its influence on other branches of the national economy of the country. It is the priority basis of economic growth; it forms the structure of the economy by implementing part of the investments in the fixed capital of other branches of production. In the author's understanding, the methodological essence of the economic security of the construction enterprise is defined as the state of security of the enterprise that ensures stable functioning and achievement of the enterprise's goals in the current activity and its development in the future, taking into account the interests and interaction of interested parties. Summarizing the existing approaches to determining the components of economic security, in particular, taking into account the peculiarities of the production and commercial activity of enterprises in the construction industry, with the aim of ensuring their economic security, six of its components are identified: financial, technical and technological, personnel, market, legal, environmental. The proposed list of components not only makes it possible to take into account the sectoral features of their activity, but also makes it possible to outline the factors of the internal and external environments that affect each of them and can exert both a stabilizing and a destabilizing influence on the activity of construction enterprises in the course of their economic activity.

Abstract:
Despite the inescapable relevance of public enterprises in the world's economies, the researchers who have devoted themselves to their study coincide in pointing out a historiographic and conceptual void around the subject and stress the importance of promoting research that will allow the accumulation of a considerable base of empirical studies to overcome generic interpretations and develop specific bodies of theory. In this sense, considering the aforementioned vacancy and the relating degree of dispersion in the contributions, this article proposes to comprehensively review the emergence of a recent and prolific research agenda, particularly located in Europe and Latin America, with substantial findings for the study of public enterprises and whose systematization allows identifying common aspects that, so far, have been disarticulated. Among the main conclusions is the origin of public enterprises with the emergence of the Nation-States stands out. This is central to an assessment of privatizations, because the projects that defended market solutions were based on the false postulate that state-owned enterprises originate and grow only with the left-wing or interventionist governments. In addition, they provide empirical evidence that shows there is no strict coincidence between political cycles and the evolution of the growth of firms; on the contrary, their development responds to very heterogeneous factors. Based on this “ideological stigma” attached to public enterprises, a series of myths about their supposedly inefficient operation are sustained. However, the studies examined show that ownership is just one more element within the multiplicity of factors involved in business performance and highlight central aspects of public administration, such as governance, state capacities, or what that some authors call entrepreneurship, although these are still open debates, the nuances of which are systematized throughout the work. These approaches are linked to analyses of the new formats of the 21st century, very different from the traditional state monopoly, in which public and private capital appear combined and competing in liberalized international markets.

Abstract:
International trade is a system of international commodity-monetary and economic relations, consisting of foreign trade of all countries of the world. International trade is the central link of the link of global economic relations, mediating almost all types of international division of labor and connecting all countries of the world into a single international economic system. The purpose of the article is to highlight the problematic aspects of the modern theory of international trade. Methods used in the research: comparison, comparative analysis, systematization and logic, etc. The hypothesis of the study was the assumption that trade is a means by which countries can develop specialization, increase the productivity of their resources and, in general, increase the total volume of production (develop as a whole). Presenting main material. Economic and political risks in international trade are determined by geographic, political, and demographic factors. Modern international trade is dynamic. The structure and volumes of exports and imports of the turnover of various countries and regions of the world are rapidly and continuously changing. Originality and practical significance of the research. Modern theories of international trade either develop the principles of classical theories, extending them to a larger number of goods, countries and factors of production, or study certain aspects of international trade that for some reason remained unexplained by classical theory. Conclusions. The competitiveness of large national firms is certainly oriented towards national ones. To analyze their activities, Porter's concept of the value chain (value chain, production chain) is used, i.e. the set of business operations of the firm during which it creates added value. Concentration on the company's most expensive links of this chain (for example, R&D and sales) and the transfer of other operations to partner firms (foreign or domestic small and medium-sized enterprises) allows TNCs to maximize the production of added value. For example, the American company Nike dominates the world market of sportswear and shoes, but it almost does not produce them itself, because it distributes orders mainly to foreign partner companies and specializes in design and logistics.

Abstract:
Purpose The paper aims to extend deliberation on legal and political aspects of debate over globalisation versus cosmopolitanism into the field of jurisprudence – philosophy of law. It gives particular attention to questions of the legitimacy of international law and emerging forms of economic governance for business enterprises, soft law, rule of law, accountability and human rights. Design/methodology/approach In terms of research method, the paper proceeds from normative, as opposed to empirical studies. The paper develops arguments connected with cosmopolitan jurisprudence, a value-based frame of reference for corporate social responsibility. In legal and moral philosophy, normative statements derive from arguments concerning what states of affairs ought to be, how they are to be valued, which things and actions are good or bad. Normative claims contrast with positive (descriptive or explanatory) claims with respect to types of theories, beliefs or propositions. Value is both independent of fact and, at the same time, of an objective nature. Findings A cosmopolitan jurisprudence frame of reference for economic governance treats human communities as interdependent and takes seriously the human rights obligations and ethical and legal responsibilities of international business enterprises presupposed by international rule of law. In contrast to globalisation jurisprudence, the cosmopolitan philosophy of international law seeks justificatory ground, not only exclusively for traditional forms of centralised governmental authority but also for decentralised, polycentric, private and hybrid public–private forms of authority. Research limitations/implications The paper demonstrates the insufficiency of just describing, as political science and economics does, the emergence of new arrangements for global economic governance. As well, it is insufficient for management theory to propose instrumental strategies for managing various stakeholder interests at play in emerging forms of governance. Efforts of empirical researchers in documenting, classifying and providing empirical analysis of power shifts do not provide moral justifications or groundings of legitimacy from human rights and rule of law. The paper shows how a cosmopolitan jurisprudence standpoint is a fertile theoretical source for addressing such justificatory issues. Practical implications In the context of a rapidly globalising economy, the justification of responsible business conduct across borders and cultures is more and more becoming a pressing practical concern. Increasingly, private actors are operating in authoritative positions, fulfilling governing functions once perceived to be the exclusive domain of nation-states. Social implications The paper suggests that more important than focusing exclusively on descriptive, coercive and instrumental features of law, and seeking some overarching sanctions system that would necessitate pledging allegiance to a global super-sovereign, is cultivating social awareness of the importance of non-instrumental internal dispositions of actors to respect the normative obligatory nature of norms. The intrinsic value of rule of law and human rights provides a vital intellectual pathway for surmounting legitimacy gaps in global economic governance. Originality/value The paper breaks new ground by developing a cosmopolitan jurisprudence as an alternative to globalisation jurisprudence. This new articulation of cosmopolitan jurisprudence serves to provide analysis of philosophical justifications for emerging soft law syndicates that purport to establish obligations for business enterprises and other participants towards soft law regimes touching upon sustainability and human rights responsibilities.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: Regarding the growth of public policies fostering rural entrepreneurship, the primary objectives of this work involve examining the concept of rural entrepreneurship, identifying key aspects that differentiate it from non-rural entrepreneurship, and assessing the role of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in supporting the initiation and growth of rural ventures. To achieve these goals, the study adopts a novel approach by integrating an analysis of rural entrepreneurship features with an exploration of the entrepreneurial ecosystem’s impact. METHODOLOGY: After a review of the previous academic literature, the characteristics of rural entrepreneurship have been delimited, distinguishing it from non-rural. The research results have been obtained using a questionnaire, after a descriptive analysis of the sample, and an analysis of the difference in means by contrasting hypotheses using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. FINDINGS: This article explores the factors that contribute to rural entrepreneurship, challenging the notion that geographic location is the sole defining characteristic. Through the conducted investigation, it has been determined that a company’s classification as rural is not solely based on its geographical location in rural areas or involvement in primary sector activities. Other aspects, such as a strong connection with the local community or the ability to create value, are also essential in defining a rural enterprise. Additionally, it examines how business ecosystems can foster the growth and success of rural entrepreneurship. IMPLICATIONS: This study provides an analysis of how rural entrepreneurship can drive endogenous development in rural areas. It also offers insights for government entities and policymakers to implement effective support measures and strategies in business ecosystems within rural environments. This study highlights that the resources found in rural entrepreneurial ecosystems may not be sufficient to support rural entrepreneurship. It’s important to acknowledge that rural entrepreneurship requires specific resources that may not currently be available in business ecosystems. To increase the number of viable rural businesses, new resources tailored to rural entrepreneurship must be created, leveraging the area’s endogenous resources and growth models. ORIGINALITY AND VALUE: This study examines the distinctive attributes of rural entrepreneurship, with a deliberate departure from exclusive emphasis on geographical location or primary economic sector. Drawing upon empirical research conducted among a cohort of rural enterprises, the analysis reveals that neither physical location nor primary sector affiliation substantially contribute to the establishment of these rural businesses. Instead, a profound connection to, and a heightened sense of belonging within the rural milieu emerge as pivotal determinants. Furthermore, rural entrepreneurship emerges as a promising avenue for the development of the region, offering substantial growth prospects. The investigation encompasses a scrutiny of the resources within the rural business ecosystem and their capacity to stimulate rural entrepreneurial activity. This emerging focal point represents a novel field of concern for governmental bodies and political institutions operating in rural areas.

Abstract:
The authors analyze the state of international banking business before and after the global economic crisis of 2007-2009, and make predictions on potential future effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on transformation of international banking and bank strategy. The analysis focuses on trends and changes in the two most important forms of trade in banking services, namely, cross-border banking flows, which include direct cross-border banking flows and local banking flows of international banks’ subsidiaries abroad, and foreign bank presence. It has been concluded that direct cross-border banking flows are more volatile than local banking flows of foreign banks during economic and social upheavals. The period under study has witnessed large increase in foreign bank presence, both in terms of number and local market share. The study determines changes of leading international banks and their home countries, highlighting the weakening position of banks from advanced countries and increase in the role of banks from emerging markets and developing countries. The authors review international expansion strategies of major banks from the post-Soviet states, that are influenced both by the opportunities and goals of banks going abroad, and by the institutional features of their banking systems; countries which these banks are targeting are predominantly comparable to the post-Soviet states in terms of economic development, and are chosen by criteria of their attractiveness, such as high level of trade and political relations with the bank’s home country, the presence of diaspora, the degree of saturation and growth dynamics of the banking market in the host country. The reasons behind the banks’ geographical expansion decision include, among many others, the dramatic growth of their economies, stimulated by the involvement in globalization processes, and liberal banking reforms. Obstacles of economic and non-economic nature that are hindering this expansion, encompass high level of competition in external banking markets, expensive financial resources of domestic banks, low level of expansion of the post-Soviet states-based enterprises to the non-post-Soviet states, discriminatory qualification requirements for personnel and composition of management bodies, problems related to banking licensing procedures and requirements, aspects of culture and communication; their transformation from local banks, operating in the local market, to banks with a clear manifestation of the tendency of their international expansion amidst changing global environment and uncertainty.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of a study of the tourism and recreational potential of small and micro-enterprises in the sphere of rural green tourism in the Zakarpattia Oblast in the context of crisis and instability. It analyses the social factors influencing the development of this sector of the state economy, identifies problematic aspects in their activities that may negatively affect the development of tourism in general, as well as the impact of such crisis phenomena as COVID-19, its consequences and martial law. The authors have identified the factors that have a destructive impact and the factors that would contribute to overcoming the crisis. The aim of the research is to conduct a socio-economic study of the development of tourist and recreational potential of rural green tourism in the region and identify ways to unlock the potential of this sphere of the region's economy, which will be effective for their practical implementation in the activities of accommodation and catering enterprises. Methodology. The study was conducted on the basis of a survey of managers and owners of rural green tourism enterprises through a personal questionnaire, as well as an analysis of statistical indicators of the performance of temporary accommodation enterprises, based on official statistics of the Zakarpattia Oblast for 2020 and 2021 and provided by the Main Department of Statistics in the Zakarpattia Oblast. The monitoring covered private peasant farms in the region, namely 90 owners of such tourist farmsteads, of whom 70% were middle-aged (36-55 years old), 58% of them combine employment in the tourism sector with their main job in the public sector, and 6% have their own business other than the service sector. The results of the study demonstrate that the activities, development and general existence of rural green tourism in the region are affected by such destructive processes as crisis phenomena such as COVID-19, political instability, martial law and other macro- and microeconomic factors, which can be overcome or at least minimised by their impact on the tourism services sector to increase the viability of small businesses, which, as is known from international practice, is one of the elements of overall economic growth in the region and the state as a whole. According to the results of the study, the factors influencing the activities of enterprises, the behavioural patterns of owners of rural green tourism institutions in the context of the crisis were identified and mechanisms for minimising and overcoming the consequences of the crisis were developed, such as: diversification of business and expansion of the types of services that can be provided to potential consumers, introduction of an effective management and marketing system, adoption of European experience in the field of green tourism and proposals for improving the legislative framework for businesses to leave the shadow economy.

Abstract:
Introduction/Main Objectives: This research aims to empirically show the positive influence of the board of directors' characteristics on company performance, proxied by female directors, political connections, economic and/or business educational backgrounds, and education levels. Background Problems: Essential characteristics are required to produce quality strategies because they directly affect the performance of SOEs, and Regulation PER-8/MBU/08/2020 of the Minister of SOEs restructures the BOD to increase the proportion of women. Novelty: This research measures SOEs' performance from their financial, administrative, and operational aspects. It comprehensively assesses the dual function of SOEs as public servants and producers of state profits. Research Methods: A total of 245 Indonesian state-owned enterprises were examined between 2014 and 2019 using panel regression with the random effect model. The companies’ performance data were obtained from the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) of the Ministry of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). Finding/ Results: The results show that female directors and political connections positively influence the performance of SOEs. According to the robustness test, directors with economic and/or business education backgrounds positively influence the financial performance, and the higher the education level is, this negatively influences the performance of SOEs. Conclusion: Essentially, this research supports the plan of the Minister of SOEs to increase the proportion of women on the boards of directors. The findings also prove that political connections strengthen the personal qualities of SOE directors, whether they are female or not.

Abstract:
With immense pleasure and pride, the new edition of the Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management, and Innovation (JEMI) is presented to our esteemed readers. The latest issue of JEMI promises a unique assortment of novel research papers on diverse topics in entrepreneurship and management studies. In this issue, national and international authors have contributed considerably and shared their meticulously written research papers for publication in the journal. The latest issue of JEMI emphasizes research studies on areas including entrepreneurial development, human resource management, marketing & financial management and other related subjects. Moreover, most of the papers in this issue have highlighted the entrepreneurial concerns, challenges, and unexploited opportunities from the developing world perspective. With the changing world business dynamics, business analytics not only foresee a tremendous shift in business processes and operations, but also a massive disruption in business ecosystems is predicted. For entrepreneurial ventures and small start-ups, which are seen as more prone to these shocks, it is essential for managers to adopt pro-active and resilient approaches, for survival and longevity. Resisting and surviving external shocks such as economic, climatic, ecological, catastrophic, and socio-political disasters has been a centre point of the literature in organizational studies. Economies and organizations alike have limited ability to resist sudden shocks which change their usual course of the working mechanism. In general, in the aftermath, the repercussions and rigours of the endured shocks yield businesses the strength to endure the changes constructed by the tremors, help them understand their potency, and provide them with the agility to resist against the tenacity of the shocks. Thus, the papers in this issue, in their unique way, highlight the issues concerning business ventures and provide some useful insights on the constructive perspectives to address those concerns. To conclude, it is important to keep in mind that the articles published in this journal represent the collective thinking of a group of innovative individuals with whom I am privileged to interact and work meticulously during the publication process. The editorial team at JEMI strives hard to make the journal a premier academic journal in the national and international academic community and thus tries to be diverse and dynamic in all aspects. As JEMI aims to strengthen relationships between the knowledge communities, professional institutions, and industries in the corporate world, we, from the next issue, intend to dedicate an entire section to specific industry-related research. For this, the editorial team has decided to call the papers relating to the scope of this journal with tourism enterprises and businesses, for our next issue.

Abstract:
In order to control the risks of Chinese enterprises in infrastructure investment in developing countries, the corresponding evaluation system is constructed through a structural equation model algorithm to analyze these risks, so as to achieve risk prediction and risk controllability. Structural equation modeling is a method to establish, estimate, and test causality. It can replace multiple regression, path analysis, factor analysis, covariance analysis, and other methods and clearly analyze the effect of individual indicators on the population and the interrelationship between individual indicators. It is a multivariate statistical modeling technology mainly applied to confirmatory model analysis. Due to the guidance of national policies, there are more and more opportunities for Chinese enterprises to invest abroad. However, due to the influence of political, economic, and environmental factors, overseas investment is facing many difficulties. This paper analyzes the risks from four aspects: bilateral policy risk, legal difference and litigation risk, international economic risk, and technical risk through structural equation model algorithm. Aiming at these risks, the simulation software of the algorithm is constructed in MATLAB big data analysis software, and the risk control measures are put forward. Finally, with the support of China’s policies, in order to ensure the investment income, we should carry out risk intervention for the foreseeable risk and reduce the impact of risk on the investment income as much as possible, so as to improve the risk prevention and management awareness of overseas investment business. By analyzing the characteristics of venture capital and the various kinds of risks affecting venture capital, the risk structure model estimation of risk sneak attack is established by using the principle of structural equation model, and the impact of various risks on investment risks can be analyzed, so that the risk measurement and control of venture capital provides the basis of theoretical knowledge.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this research was to identify and create a decentralized development system specific for the whanau (family) and hapu/runanga (sub-tribe) members of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. In New Zealand, a number of Maori tribes have negotiated compensation with the New Zealand Government for past injustices. These assets are typically centralized within iwi (tribal) corporate structures to protect and grow the asset base on behalf of tribal constituents. This centralization of assets has caused political tension within tribes. Design/methodology/approach – This paper provides a case study of whanau/hapu-level businesses facilitated by the post-settlement iwi – Ngāi Tahu – to demonstrate how each level can work synergistically to encourage multi-level economic development in a way that matches cultural patterns and expectations. Participant action research theory and practice was utilized by researchers from Toitu Te Kainga (Regional Development Unit of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu) between 2008 and 2012. This was informed by an Enterprise Facilitation person-centred perspective and a Kaupapa Māori philosophy of respect and empowerment of the participants needs. Findings – This paper argues that while a certain level of centralization is required, to ring-fence and protect tribal assets at an iwi (tribal) level, the benefits gained by that centralization can then be utilized to provide a springboard for decentralized economic development at the whanau (family) and hapu (sub-tribe) levels. Originality/value – This new indigenous development system is referred to as the symbiotic development model and is an original outcome of this research paper. The paper concludes that tribal economic development in the post-settlement era in New Zealand needs to combine aspects of both centralization and decentralization.

Abstract:
The article highlights the geopolitical aspects of the international tourism development in Ukraine as a global phenomenon that carries out economic, social and international and political action. In today's world, tourism has become a powerful industry, a huge complex in which the economic and social spheres are connected. The importance of tourism in international economic activity is constantly growing, and the market itself is acquiring new trends and features, affecting trade, transport and communications, agriculture and construction. The processes of globalization in the tourism market are characterized by changes in technology, modernization of transport infrastructure, internationalization of business activity and the creation of a regulatory mechanism. The potential of world tourist flows as factors of geopolitical influence is revealed, the structure of which reflects and influences the tendencies of international interaction. The main geopolitical factors influencing the dynamics and spatial organization of international tourist flows are structured. The world market of tourist services has a clear segmentation character. The main criteria for segmentation are motivational, age and regional ones. The general tendencies of development of the international tourism, a role and a place of Ukraine in the international tourist market are characterized. It is predicted that China will become the most popular tourist country in the near future. It is determined that due to the growth of intercontinental ties, which is based on the rapid development of vehicles and, above all, jet aircraft, as well as the desire of a significant number of people to visit the most remote and exotic corners of the Earth, tourism exchange between regions will develop more intensively than within regions. However, there is a growing tendency to increase the exchange of tourists between neighboring countries under conditions of normal relations between them and between countries with related languages. The main world events that have affected tourist flows in recent years are listed: Brexit, COVID-19, military actions in Eastern Ukraine and others. The analysis of international tourist flows in Ukraine was done, in particular their dynamics and spatial structure during 2010-2019 in the context of military-political aggression by Russia and the aggravation of Ukrainian-Russian interstate relations. It is established that the current dynamics of the international tourist flow in Ukraine is characterized by a sharp decrease in international visitors, slowing down the development of tourism and reformatting the spatial structure of the incoming and outgoing tourist flow. It is also noted that among the main factors hindering the development of the Ukrainian tourism industry are the unsatisfactory state of development of infrastructure and logistics of tourism, high prices, environmental and criminal risks, low innovation activity of tourism enterprises. It is concluded that international tourism is not only a passive participant in international relations, but also an active political actor who is able to act as a channel for establishing international trust and cooperation, a factor in maintaining political stability.

Abstract:
Purpose Small-scale forestry-based enterprising communities are particularly associated with their territory and, therefore, are very conditioned by the local culture. This paper aims to explore the relationship between culture and competitiveness in small-scale Latin-American forestry-based enterprising communities. Design/methodology/approach This study used 212 surveys in companies linked to the production, industrialisation and commercialisation sector of the forestry industry in the province of Misiones (Argentina), using partial least squares to analyse the relationships thereof. Findings Culture and competitive advantages improve the growth of small-scale timber businesses and growth, in turn, increases financial performance. However, culture does not have an impact on competitive advantage and no interaction effect of culture on competitive advantage was detected. The results can indicate that there might be a need to incorporate other concepts and operationalisation that are better suited to the geographical and industrial contexts in developing countries. Research limitations/implications The literature and measures used to operationalise variables in the survey did not necessarily succeed in capturing the culture in the studied small- and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the design of the sample and subjective measures may partially condition the results. Practical implications For business managers and consultants, this study indicates that they must take into account the local culture to improve performance. Entrepreneurs must reorient the company strategy towards the long term, integrating local culture into their strategy to generate competitive advantages. Social implications Political authorities and social agents should also take into consideration the cultural aspects of the territory when implementing regulations and specific actions to improve the industry and strengthen the sense of community. The results highlight the vitality of animators and development agencies and of any factor that fosters social cohesion. Originality/value The paper shows a new approach to the relationship between culture and competitiveness in small-scale forestry-based enterprising communities, combining performance in a formal sector with the bazaar model.

Abstract:
The shadow economy, along with macroeconomic imbalances and limited resources, will become a key global risk for the next decade. Withdrawing cash flows from the shadow sector and directing them to the legal economy solves numerous political, social, and economic problems of a country. That's why assessing the level of the shadow economy and solving problems of legalizing cashflows in any country has theoretical and practical significance. The purpose of this study is to assess the level of the shadow economy in Ukraine and to identify the problems, which give rise to it in the context of new challenges of the crisis phenomena both in Ukraine and around the world. The paper presents a comprehensive study of the shadow economy phenomenon, examines the root causes of its occurrence. The specificity of the study consists in assessing the level of the shadow economy in Ukraine according to the existing methods, namely: the unprofitableness of enterprises “household expenses – retail sales and services”, electrical and monetary. According to the review of scientific works, it is necessary to use a comprehensive indicator of the shadow economy assessment. Thus, considerable attention is paid to deepening the methodological aspects of assessing the shadow economy based on multi-criteria methods. The result of the study is the calculation of the shadow economy's level, considering the shadow currency turnover, based on the fact that Ukraine is a dollar-dependent country. A large proportion of the capital withdrawal into the shadow circulation is associated precisely with currency fraud. The obtained results confirm that the legalization of currency cash turnover should be mandatory in the process of foreign exchange regulation's transformation in Ukraine. Achieving this goal is associated with the deregulation of the foreign exchange market and the banking sector on the basis of moderate liberalization, warning the country's economy against the deployment of credit booms, improving the institutional provision of financial intermediation, developing a full-fledged market for derivatives, harmonizing national legislation with the best world experience and international standards of regulation, supervision and reporting, continuous monitoring of public opinion on the actions of monetary authorities and the consequences of these actions for the welfare and economic stability of corporate business and households.

Abstract:
This article posits that gendered militarized labour, women’s everyday entrepreneurialism and political mobilizations around subnational autonomy are intricately linked. To understand the relationship between these entities, one needs to zero in on the generational dynamics of women’s collective engagement in upholding the martial identity of Gorkhas, and the consequences of such preoccupation on the legibility of Gorkha subjects vis-à-vis the Indian state. To locate the specificity of women’s collective engagements with Gorkhaland, I propose a de-essentialized intersectional perspective in drawing up my framework of ‘subnational enterprise’. I draw from Black Feminist scholarship on the nuances of mothering and community work, strains of Feminist International Relations perspectives that attend to the invisibility of gendered labour in situations of conflict, and the emerging feminist work on entrepreneurialism which emphasize its socio-psychological aspects. My framework of subnational enterprise draws on 16 years of longitudinal ethnographic work in urban and rural areas of Darjeeling, and in this piece, I draw on life history interviews as well as unstructured interviews with men and women in Darjeeling. I advocate for grounded explorations of the relationship between militarization, discourses of belonging and gender identity to explain how right and left agendas jostle within a regional autonomy movement.

Abstract:
At the current stage of the development of the national and world economy, the problem of the quality of products and services, as well as the functioning of enterprises in general, has become particularly relevant, which is caused by the action of the objective economic laws of the development of society. The effectiveness and efficiency of the functioning of business entities largely depend on the level of quality they achieve, which ensures their competitiveness in a highly dynamic business environment. All of the above attracted the attention of scientists and practitioners, which led to the appearance of a significant number of works on this problem. However, the results of the study of the scientific literature indicate the existence of differences in the views of scientists regarding the theoretical, methodological, methodical and practical aspects of the quality problem. This complicates the process of quality management, makes it impossible to form an effective approach to improving quality in existing business conditions. Therefore, further thorough research is necessary, first of all, of the essence of this category, which will make it possible to form a theoretical basis for this problem in the future. By conducting a theoretical analysis, systematization and generalization of existing scientific and regulatory provisions, the essence of the category "quality" was clarified. Philosophical, social, ecological, technical, economic and legal positions regarding the essence of the "quality" category, as well as provisions of international and domestic standards of the ISO series, were applied in the research process. It was established that quality is the result of compliance of the object's own characteristics with the requirements that constantly progress and shape these own characteristics. The reasons for changing the requirements for the object can be not only the influence of environmental factors on them, but also the influence of the object's own characteristics. This interpretation of the essence of the "quality" category is, in our opinion, more complete compared to those available in the scientific literature. It reflects two sides of quality: as a result of meeting requirements with the object's own characteristics and as a result of forming the object's own characteristics according to progressive requirements. In addition, the interpretation of quality in the proposed edition makes it possible to form an approach to ensuring and improving quality - as a continuous process, on the one hand, meeting requirements that are constantly changing (progressing) by the object's own characteristics, on the other hand, as improving its own characteristics of the object based on the discovery of new, more complex (progressive) requirements.

Abstract:
Introduction. The amount of energy resources generated from the introduction of alternative energy is increasing every year, nevertheless this problem is increasingly being researched by scientists, economists and ordinary people seeking to improve the environment around the world. This is a very pressing issue for European countries. As a potential member of the European Union, Ukraine also intends to significantly increase its energy resources from alternative energy. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has been acting in the same direction since 2003 when the Law of Ukraine «On Alternative Energy» was adopted and has constantly been amending them, the last of which is dated July 11th, 2019 [1]. However, accounting for alternative energy is a new topic of research, therefore it requires a systematic approach to the formation of accounting policies; a number of interconnected accounts of the Charts of Accounts of assets, capital, liabilities and business operations of enterprises and organizations; and application of appropriate software. Analysis of recent research and publications. Problems of alternative energy development were considered in the works of Ishchuk L., Kinash I., Lishchuk V., Lishchuk M., Moskovchuk A., Nikolaeva A., Pyrih S. and accounting and analysis are investigated in the works of Derii V. A., Zadorozhnyi Z.-M. V., Krupka Ya. D. However, the accounting aspects weren’t considered in detail, thus, in this regard, the topic of our study is relevant. The purpose of the study is to formulate a systematic approach to accounting and its automation in alternative energy enterprises in order to develop proposals for improving the efficiency of their activities. Methods. The article uses general scientific and specific research methods to study the systematic approach to accounting and its computerization in alternative energy enterprises. A situational analysis of alternative energy development is carried out. The graphical method was used to reflect the ratio of energy from the sun, biomass, wind (in percentage terms) for ten years in Ukraine. Topical problems of energy in Ukraine and in the world through the use of induction and deduction methods are revealed. The modeling method for the formation of the accounting system in small enterprises of alternative energy production has been applied. Results. A systematic approach to accounting for alternative energy is very important as it’s a significant segment in the set of activities. The Law of Ukraine “On Alternative Energy” and International Standards or National Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting Standards do not refer the specificities of accounting and reporting on energy receipts from alternative energy sources. In this regard, we propose in the Law of Ukraine “On Alternative Sources” to separate the section for accounting and reporting, as it is done in Article 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Electricity Market” [2]. In our opinion, in the Chart of Accounting it is advisable to replace the name of the sub-account 203 «Fuel» with the name «Natural and energy resources» with the corresponding analytical accounts 2031 «Cold water», 2032 «Hot water», 2033 «Electricity of own production», 2034 «Electricity purchased» , 2035 “Natural gas purchased”, 2036 “Biofuels”, and 2037 “Other renewable natural and energy resources” [3]. In addition, we believe that the government should encourage the development of small businesses, consulting and design services that would provide individual homeowners with the opportunity to equip themselves with alternative energy facilities. In this regard, it is necessary to develop an optimal model of accounting system for small alternative energy enterprises. In the segment of accounting and reporting automation, we propose companies to search for new software that will replace the Russian software “1 C Accounting”, because this software requires additional modules. In addition, this software is very risky due to the political situation in Ukraine. Hence, we believe that it is necessary to give priority to the improvement of domestic software. Prospects. Further scientific research can be developed to detail the features of accounting, reporting and control in small alternative energy enterprises. The level of readiness for the use of Ukrainian accounting and reporting software products, in particular in the alternative energy segment, as well as the formation of a unified network with the bank and investors, should be discovered.

Abstract:
The rise in talent management complications led organizations to rely on the latest technologies to automate their routine HRM tasks through AI. This study proposed to examine fundamental aspects of AI in talent acquisition (cost-benefit, opportunities, and risk factors) from the context of strategic analysis and decision-making. 52 respondents from HRM and the information technology departments from fifteen large dairy enterprises, each with more than one thousand employees, were included in the focus group discussion. Both departments were included in the focus group discussion as they heavily employ AI in talent acquisition. The opinions were collected in multiple rounds based on the cost, benefit, opportunity, and risk criteria using the analytical hierarchy process, a multi-criteria decision-making framework. The findings demonstrated that most respondents opinioned AI supports talent acquisition with many opportunities (38.7%) that involve the identification of the best applicants (18.7%) and different benefits (33.2%) to the organization in the form of saving time and cost (16.1%) leading to higher efficacy. The study infers that the application of AI in HRM significantly contributes to talent acquisition, streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing decision-making. The study recommends that implementing AI in talent acquisition requires a strategic approach, and organizations need to consider factors such as data privacy, ethical use of AI, and ongoing training to ensure successful integration into their hiring processes. Additionally, regular monitoring and adjustments are essential to optimize the effectiveness of AI tools in talent acquisition. Abstract:
The subject of the research. The level of the economy of any country depends on its scientific, technical, innovative potential. It determines the country's place in the global economy, the competitiveness of industries and enterprises. One of the important factors of innovative growth of the country's economy is the development of the field of intellectual property. The subject of the research is the analysis of the main indicators of the national intellectual property system of Ukraine and the study of the main trends of its development. The purpose of the article is to study the economic, market, legal aspects of the functioning of the field of intellectual property that form its potential, development and scientific substantiation of the directions of development of the national intellectual property system of Ukraine. The methodologyof the work. A systematic approach and methodologies of economic, statistical, economic and mathematical analysis are used to study the trends of the main factors influencing the potential and development of the intellectual property system of Ukraine. The results of the work. The article describes the dynamics of the main indicators of the functioning of the intellectual property sphere, the country's ratings in the international system for the protection of intellectual property rights. It has been determined that the effectiveness of such a system depends on many factors, the main of which are: compliance of the regulatory framework; development of the infrastructure of national and international systems of intellectual property legal protection; effectiveness of training and advanced training of specialists; level of financial support for its activities. The field of application of the results of the study of the main trends in the global, national innovation market and the national intellectual property system will allow for a more accurate adjustment of the direction and strategy of the development of the sphere and also identify the most problematic issues to bring the domestic legislation closer to the provisions of the association agreement with the European Union. Conclusiins. An effective structure for the protection of intellectual property rights is a solid foundation for the innovative development model of Ukraine, its modernization and global competitiveness. The study revealed, on the one hand, a significant growth potential in the field of intellectual property, on the other hand, an insufficient level of growth compared with the leading countries of the world. The key constraints for the development of innovation in Ukraine are the political and business environment, as well as the weak infrastructure of the market for innovation and creative work. The following are the next areas of development strategy for the field of intellectual property of Ukraine: the scientific and technological development of society; the implementation of European standards in the field of intellectual property with national legislation; elimination and systematization of existing contradictions. The results of the study indicate that the problem of using the potential of intellectual capital in the formation of an innovative development model has considerable scientific interest and requires further research.

Abstract:
Relevance of the research topic is explained by the need to develop and implement effective measures to respond to economic losses caused by the military actions of the aggressor country. Targeted attacks by the enemy are aimed at destroying Ukraine as an industrialized state, not only to affect the civilian population but also to destroy the industrial potential. As a result, Ukraine has suffered irreversible losses of industrial potential, which amount to about 30%, destruction of manufacturing and logistics chains, loss of access to resources (both raw materials and human resources), complications in doing business due to interruptions in energy supply and communications, etc. Although the Ukrainian economy is currently in a state of uncertainty during the war, the prospects for the development of industrial enterprises and their ability to conduct business, create high-paying jobs and conditions for normal operation require strategic planning for post-war recovery based on European principles. Formulation of the problem. Finding answers to today's military challenges and justifying tools for preserving existing and developing new machinery production will help the country fulfill its most important functions by strengthening the ability of Ukrainian machinery enterprises to occupy market niches for the production of climate-friendly energy technologies for the EU's green and digital transition (wind turbines, heat pumps, solar panels, renewable hydrogen); machinery products of russian and belarusian origin, etc. Analysis of recent research and publications. The importance of industrialization and industrial policy for the development of industrial sectors, including machinery, is widely discussed in academic and political circles. Various aspects of the development of the machinery are reflected in many scientific works of foreign and domestic researcherss, as well as numerous publications of international organizations such as the World Bank, the UN, the European Commission, UNIDO, etc. At the same time, most publications do not provide answers to the military challenges to recovery the industrial potential of the machinery, which makes this study relevant. Selection of unexplored parts of the general problem. The lack of justification for strategic initiatives to facilitate the adaptation of Ukrainian machinery to the global challenges of the future (military, political, digital, financial, investment, environmental, technological, social, etc.) widens the gap between Ukraine and the developed world and only increases the effect of deindustrialization of the country's economy. Economic recovery and economic sustainability cannot be achieved without strategic development planning based on the joint efforts of all economic actors, including representatives of business, science and the state. Setting the task, the purpose of the study. The purpose of the study is to formulate strategic tasks for post-war reconstruction with the identification of perspective types of Ukrainian machinery, based on the pan-European vector of integration and ensuring national interests. Method or methodology for conducting research. The study uses general scientific methods: abstract and logical, induction and deduction, systematic approach; analysis and synthesis, as well as special research methods: statistical comparisons, grouping, sampling (to assess the dynamics of sales of machinery, foreign trade indicators and the number of employees as basic indicators of development trends); structural and functional analysis, expert assessments in developing recommendations for effective support tools for Ukrainian machinery. Presentation of the main material (results of work). The machinery provides an economic multiplier effect for related sectors of the economy, united by a single technological chain. The hostilities led to a 70% loss of Ukrainian exports of machinery products from the level of 2021 (6107.56 million USD in 2021 vs. 4216.9 million USD in 2022). The loss of production capacity is offset by significant imports of machinery products in the amount of 15983.54 million USD in 2022, which confirms the high import dependence of the domestic market for machinery building products. The machinery industries are strategically important for socio-economic development, as they concentrate a significant number of jobs (almost 15% of industrial workers in 2021) with a fairly high level of wages. The field of application of results. Strategic directions of the machinery post-war recovery are an important component of strategic planning and selection of effective industrial policy instruments for the Ukrainian manufacturing recovery and opposition of negative manifestations of military challenges with the realization of opportunities associated with changes in the global geopolitical space. Conclusions according to the article. The preservation of existing and development of new machinery production facilities, as well as the realization of opportunities to occupy market niches in the European and world markets of machinery products vacated by the sanctions against Russian and Belarusian manufacturers, as well as to diversify its own production and become a member of global machinery value chains for the aviation, rocketry, medical, and military industries of the world industry depend on the implementation of industrial policy instruments proven in other countries such as networks of industrial parks, stimulating cluster movement, promoting partnerships with foreign manufacturers), supporting export activities and diversification of production, introducing incentive and compensation mechanisms at the state, regional and local levels; expanding domestic demand for domestic engineering products in the post-war recovery.

Abstract:
This paper aims to explore the current aspects related to Electronic Marketing (E-Marketing) adoption and implementation in developing countries through examining and investigating the case Egyptian small business enterprises. The paper methodically reviews E-Marketing adoption and implementation by small business enterprises related literature in general and in developing countries (e.g. Egypt) in particular. Building on the results of such a review, two stages methodology (namely survey and case studies) are used to explore the current aspects related to E-Marketing adoption and implementation by Egyptian small business enterprises. The findings indicated that there is a very few research that was conducted in the related literature to examine and/or investigate E-Marketing adoption and implementation in general and in Egypt in particular. The findings also indicated (although through a small response rate of the Egyptian small business enterprises) that Egyptian small businesses owners, marketing managers and sales managers have an immature and inexperienced knowledge of E-Marketing aspects as well as the different tools or forms related to it. It was found that the size of business, type of products, available resources, the knowledge of the owner and/or manager, customer's orientation towards E-Marketing, and government support are the most important factors that might have a great impact of the decision of adopting E-marketing or at least one of its tools or forms by Egyptian small business enterprises. Meanwhile, international orientation or competing globally was not one of the factors affecting E-Marketing adoption as most of the small business enterprises depended totally on the Egyptian international trade points in conducting E-Marketing without trying to gain the needed experiences to conduct these activities independently. Moreover, Egyptian small business enterprises owners, marketing and sales managers did not find any positive impact for E-Marketing adoption on the marketing performance of their small business enterprises. The findings also reinforced that Egyptian small business enterprises had only conducted partial narrow-minded E-Marketing activities.

Abstract:
Purpose The South African listed property market has changed its legal basis from property loan stock companies and property unit trusts to adopt the more familiar international structure, real estate investment trusts. The main distinction is how shareholding is structured and investment returns are paid out to shareholders, which results in a different tax treatment. It is hoped that this change would attract more foreign investment, but it is questionable if this is sufficient to convince global investors who, amidst a seeming worsening of the stability in the political and economic environment, would probably need more insight into aspects such as investment decision making within these South African organisations. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach Using a balanced scorecard (BSC) framework, this study investigates the relevance of investment decision-making frameworks in South Africa. A survey using a sample of institutional investors that are included in the South African Property Market Index was conducted. Findings The study found similarities in decision-making priorities of South African institutional investors to those of previous studies. With the focus on retail property, tenant mix and secondary to that, quality of the centre management team is found to be important for forecasting expected returns in a retail investment decision environment. Diversification strategies were found to have similar results to previous studies, leaning more towards geographic location than economic location. Further, the study suggested the use of a BSC framework, linking the financial information and different financial ratios to nonfinancial aspects that need specific consideration in a retail investment environment. Research limitations/implications Retail property is considered to be of particular concern due to the business enterprise value that could be created if superior management techniques are applied. The investment decision stage concerned with forecasting expected returns relies on financial and quantitative models such as those derived from Modern Portfolio Theory. In a shopping mall environment, however, future performance is driven by nonfinancial factors, for example, tenant mix and superior customer experience. Therefore, forecasting expected returns in a retail environment requires a nuanced approach relative to other commercial property sectors. Originality/value The paper is considered to be original in its analysis of the retail real estate market in South Africa. This offers new insight into retail properties specifically, but also how investors in South Africa react to decision-making practices. This adds value in the internationalisation of the property market and the consistency and transparent practices applied globally.

ABSTRACT:Little theoretical attention has been paid to the question of what obligations corporations and other business enterprises have to the four billion people living at the base of the global economic pyramid. This article makes several theoretical contributions to this topic. First, it is argued that corporations are properly understood as agents of global justice. Second, the legitimacy of global governance institutions and the legitimacy of corporations and other business enterprises are distinguished. Third, it is argued that a deliberative democracy model of corporate legitimacy defended by theorists of political CSR is unsatisfactory. Fourth, it is argued that a Rawlsian theoretical framework fails to provide a satisfactory account of the obligations of corporations regarding global justice. Finally, an ethical conception of CSR grounded in an appropriately modest set of duties tied to corporate relationships is then defended. This position is cosmopolitan in scope and grounded in overlapping arguments for human rights.

The article takes stock of developments in domestic and international law concerning the regulation of adverse human rights impacts by global business enterprises, one decade after the adoption of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the Maastricht Principles on Extraterritorial Obligations of States in the Area of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (Maastricht Principles). It discusses these soft-law instruments in the light of long-standing systemic obstacles to holding business enterprises legally accountable for their global human rights impacts. The article argues for a new legal consensus on business and human rights, grounded in the increasing recognition by States that corporate respect for human rights should be brought under the purview of (international) human rights law. This consensus builds on the gradual convergence between the regulatory models that underpin the UNGPs and the Maastricht Principles, such that States’ domestic regulation of business enterprises with extraterritorial effect becomes anchored in international legal obligations towards foreign victims of business-related human rights violations.

The global knowledge-based economy is driven by innovation which is the leading force of competitiveness, growth, and profitability. The rapid changes in the requirements of consumer needs, as well as those in the technological field are drivers for disruptive and incremental innovations, which can be considered as new or improved products, processes, technologies, and managerial decisions (or a combination thereof), that have been introduced on the market or brought into use by the firm. The paper aims to systematize the key elements and factors that influence the competitiveness of innovation-active enterprises. According to international statistical guidelines and recommendations, an innovation-active firm can be defined as a company that is engaged in one or more activities to develop or implement new or improved products or business processes for an intended use. Based on a literature review, the definition of the competitiveness of an innovation-active firm as an economic category is proposed, as well as the main dimensions and prerequisites for effective management of competitive capacity of innovation-active enterprises are highlighted, that should be primarily taken into account from a management decision-making viewpoint to embed the innovation development principles into business practice in order to improve the organizational performance and strengthen the competitiveness of a company in a fast-changing business environment. As a result of the study, through an integrated approach a descriptive overview of the key components of an innovation-active firms competitive capacity is presented, namely the innovation, the organizational, the managerial, the information, and the marketing capacity.

Abstract:
Introduction. The issues of management of production costs of the enterprise have become important for domestic businesses after the transition of the economy to market principles of doing business. In the command-administrative system of management, pricing was the prerogative of state authorities, ministries and departments and was based on the implementation of a cost approach, which involves the inclusion in the cost of products of the full cost of its production and sale. Methods. During the research general and special methods of research of processes and phenomena in their interrelation and development were used, namely: monographic (at formulation of the purpose, tasks, subject and object of research); method of comparative analysis (in the study of the concepts of strategic cost management). At the stage of observation of business transactions, collection, measurement, design, registration, systematization and processing of information for research, the inductive method was used, and the deductive method was used in the process of theoretical understanding of the problem. Results. We believe that the main characteristics of the cost management system of an agricultural enterprise should be: phased implementation of the process; inclusion in the general process of enterprise management; establishing the impact of the external environment of the business entity; determining the characteristics of the internal environment; availability of feedback. Discussion. At the stage of reforming the domestic accounting system, the issue of terminology should be given special importance. It is advisable to use in regulations the definition of costs and expenses, limiting the scope of these categories and providing the possibility of their unambiguous qualification by enterprises that prepare reports for interested users, both external and internal. Prospects for the application of IFRS in Ukraine in terms of cost accounting require understanding of the basic ideas and meaning of international standards and research, the results of which will approximate, and further bring the guidelines and rules of cost accounting in Ukraine in accordance with international financial reporting standards. Keywords: production, management, costs, expenses, accounting, prime cost.
