Abstract:
IntroductionAlthough antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance in the Netherlands is comparatively low, inappropriate prescription of antibiotics is substantial, mainly for respiratory tract infections (RTIs). General practitioners (GPs) experience pressure from patients with an immigration background to prescribe antibiotics and have difficulty communicating in a culturally sensitive way. Multifaceted interventions including communication skills training for GPs are shown to be most effective in reducing antibiotic prescription. The PARCA study aims to reduce the number of antibiotic prescriptions for RTIs through implementing a culturally sensitive communication intervention for GPs and evaluate it in a randomised controlled trial (RCT).Methods and analysisA non-blinded RCT including 58 GPs (29 for each arm). The intervention consists of: (1) An E-learning with 4 modules of 10–15 min each; (2) A face-to-face training session in (intercultural) communication skills including role plays with a training actor and (3) Availability of informative patient-facing materials that use simple words (A2/B1 level) in multiple languages. The primary outcome measure is the number of dispensed antibiotic courses qualifying for RTIs in primary care, per 1000 registered patients. The secondary outcome measure is the number of all dispensed antibiotic courses, per 1000 registered patients. The intervention arm will receive the training in Autumn 2021, followed by an observation period of 6 winter months for which numbers of antibiotics will be collected for both trial arms. The GPs/practices in the control arm can attend the training after the observation period.Ethics and disseminationThe study protocol was approved by the Medical Ethics Review Committee of Erasmus MC, University Medical Center Rotterdam (MEC-2020-0142). The results of the trial will be published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and will be disseminated through national and international congresses. The project is funded by The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw).Trial registration numberNL9450.

Abstract:
A part of international congresses programs are professional visits (trips). Foreign publications pay a special attention to professional trips, which considers them as an instrument of cultural diplomacy. In Russia there are a few examples of organizing professional (or study) trips for students. Publications dedicated to this theme are usually of descriptive character. The experience of St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, as well as other Russian and non-Russian universities, confirms that educational trips should be regarded as a form of independent study activity. This article attempts to determine how the tasks of study trips for students of library departments correlate with competences of the educational standard. The paper considers the experience of organizing independent student work at the Library and Information Sciences Department of St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture within the framework of educational trips to other countries. It highlights the trips objectives in the context of library and information science education as the following: establishing and developing professional and interpersonal contacts between foreign and Russian educational organizations and libraries; involving students in intercultural communication; getting professional knowledge by visits to institutions, informational conversations, excursions to organizations and institutions of professional interest; exchanging professional knowledge in the field of librarianship and the experience in library practice; meetings with foreign students, scholars and specialists; acquainting with the economic, political and cultural life of foreign countries. By providing information about educational trips «The role of the book in Gutenberg’s homeland (Germany)» and «Baltic libraries as centers of science, culture, and education (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania)», the author demonstrates how these tasks are correlated with the competencies required by the Russian educational standard of higher education «51.03.06. Library and information activities (bachelor's level)»; outlines the stages of study trips followed by a description of the professional tasks and competencies required by the federal state educational standard of higher education mentioned above. Thus, students develop competencies through independent work. The article sums that study trips as a form of independent activity accomplish professional tasks required by the Russian educational standard of higher education, such as research and methodological work, information and analytical work, management.

Abstract:
Identities and intercultural communication: Thematic map of the 14th Congress of Nordic Network for Intercultural CommunicationRenata Matkevičienė SummaryThe issue of identity in the context of intercultural communication is quite rare in scientific researches. There could be found only several discussions in the field. The aim of the paper is an analysis of a thematic discourse in intercultural communication on the basis of the scientific presentation of the 14th Congress of Nordic Network for Intercultural Communication “Changing Identities in Globalized World” organized in 29 November – 1 December 2007 in Vilnius. The author tries to present the items that are articulated in the analysis of intercultural communication, and lays focuses on the thematic map of the conference, based on the content analysis of abstracts of the presentations made by participants of the conference. The study has showns that the thematic spectrum of intercultural communication is quite stable and reflects the basic aspects of intercultural communication: interpretation of culture, questions of cultural differences and conflicts, intercultural competence in interpersonal communication, international corporate communication, etc. Also, presuppositions are made regarding a qualitative correlation between the topic of the conference and the main items presented in the abstracts. The present investigation could serve as a start-line for a deeper analysis of scientific communication as part of intercultural communication.

Abstract:
The success of intercultural communication depends largely on how accurately the communicative goal of the speaker is expressed. Means that contribute to the communicative goal are nationally specific, so they can vary significantly in the texts of intercultural communication. The object of scientific observation in this article is textual repetitions of different types and ways of their expression in the translation and the original text. The aim of this study is to identify the communicative functions and the specificity of textual repetitions, used in the Chinese and Russian texts of the journalistic genre. The material of this research was the report delivered by the Chinese Presi-dent Xi Jinping at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on October 16, 2022, and its Russian version. The article focuses on the intercultural features of the elements of cohesion in the texts of intercultural communication in Chinese and Russian. The result of the study is to identify the types of communicative tactics in the transfer of comparable information in the texts in Chinese and Russian: correspondence, incomplete correspondence and inconsistency. It is demonstrated that in the translation of the repetitions the Russian-speaking text to a large extent corresponds to the original, preserves the text-forming connections created by these repetitions, but has national specificity in the stylistic processing of the original.

Abstract:
This article presents an analytical overview of the critical modernisation features of Socialism with Chinese characteristics doctrine in the new era, which was proposed at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The authors reconstructed and systematically represented the central philosophical and political principles of the doctrine of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the context of the fundamental principles of Chinese Marxism. The authors also analysed and presented in a systematic form the essence and basic theoretical principles of the concept of Socialism with Chinese characteristics following Xi Jinping's works and reports. The study includes a comparative analysis that concludes with the critical features of the modern concept of socialism with Chinese characteristics. These features embrace the need for constant modernisation of the very doctrine of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the state management system, as well as social and cultural practices, which are possible through the implementation of innovations and the integration of modern philosophical thought with traditional Chinese philosophy and culture. The article concludes that the main feature of the modernisation of Socialism with Chinese characteristics at the current stage reveals in the development and implementation of a system of creative practices at the level of everyday culture, high-tech sectors of social production and the practice of intercultural communication within the framework of China's Belt and Road Initiative. In the discussion, the authors argue that implementing creative practices and creative industries could become an effective tool for developing China's Belt and Road Initiative in European countries and improving mutual understanding in the intercultural communication practices between China, European countries, and Ukraine.

Burlina, Elena Ya. "University of the XXI century: philosophy, everyday life, future. To celebrate the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant." Aspirantskiy Vestnik Povolzhiya 19, no. 7-8 (April 7, 2020): 54–58. http://dx.doi.org/10.17816/2072-2354.2019.19.7-8.54-58.

Abstract:
In 2024, the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant will be celebrated. The Kant society of Germany has already announced the decision to hold the anniversary Kant Congress in Kaliningrad. The jubilee Kantiana brings with it the possibility of promoting not only scientific and pedagogical issues, but also has significant chances of becoming an event that will positively affect the international image of various Russian cities and universities. In connection with future events, the interpretation of the legacies of the great philosopher of the Enlightenment in university audiences of the 21st century is of particular relevance. The author of the article puts forward a new methodological and methodological hypothesis. Presentation of Kant for a modern student audience fits into the chronotope: past-everyday life-future. This matrix affects not only the construction of lectures and seminars within the university. This also refers to the creation of new urban images and communicative spaces: theatrical productions, world exhibitions, city holidays. The author widely quotes famous directors who created actual daily life in their performances or city projects. Our contemporary Shakespeare, Our contemporary Kant these are the conditions of modern culture. A similar actualization is seen in innovative educational and methodological texts, in the so-called Kantian, on the website of the Kant Baltic Federal University. The article also presents another thematic turn, relevant for modern students of a medical university, in which the author of the article directly teaches. The article claims that Kants interpretations of consciousness; space-time; transcendence and transcendence up to certain boundaries diverge from the concepts of modern physiologists and psychiatrists, which does not remove the significance and evidentiary power of the great philosopher of the Enlightenment. Based on the above, the following conclusions are formulated in the article: the modern Kantiana contains a variety of scientific heritage and is rooted in everyday culture. Kants legacy is used in university lectures, seminars, and websites, which does not remove the inevitability of expanding the urban Kantian. The strategies of the universities of the 21st century require the actualization of the past and relations with the future of the city. Under these conditions, the anniversary of the great German philosopher I. Kant in the Russian city of Kaliningrad can become another platform for intercultural communication with students from different cities and countries.
