Abstract:
The paper tries to analyse what impact of didactics studies and pedagogical practice has on such abilities of prospective teachers as link sciences and mathematics teaching in practice. The aim of the research is to investigate the inter-subject links applying abilities of prospective sciences and mathematics teachers and to figure out characteristics of their vocational training in the context of the development of competencies to plan subject content and control teaching process. The general opinion of surveyed students was that application of inter-subject links in educational practice is important in order to engage pupils in sciences and mathematics as well as develop their creativity. Students also thought that the best way to implement links between subjects is to use problem-oriented education method which encourages pupils to both collaborate and individually solve given tasks. The research also revealed that students feel a lack of versatile readiness for science subjects’ integration in their practical work. The connection between sciences and mathematics subjects is tight. Processing of data achieved via experiments and solutions to exercises in natural science classes give sense to mathematics and enriches its learning and teaching experience. Such situation implies that more focus should be given for sciences and mathematical education of students.

Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to study how requirements management could be utilized in connection to a service performance measurement system. Public private partnership (PPP) in Finnish Defence Forces’ (FDF) catering operations is studied as a case example. There are two research questions, which are studied: Firstly, do catering operations create KPI’s, which enable inter-functional co-operation and service development? Secondly, do these KPIs support both efficiency and effectiveness of PPP catering operations? Evidence from the previous studies on the subject indicates that there should be a single “power-by-the-hour” metrics unit, which enables a transparent follow-up of the performance-based operations. This research highlights requirements value in creation of economic efficiency and effectiveness from the end-user point-of view and reciprocal value creation between inter-functional service systems. This research’s results show that focus on portion control can produce information, which enhances inter-functional co-operation between PPP stakeholders.

The all-Russian population census, scheduled for 2020, has been officially postponed to 2021. The article, in connection with the upcoming census, examines the situation with labor migration of the population from the Altai Republic. The subject of research is labor migration from the Altai Republic. It should be especially noted that the spatial mobility of the region's population is becoming characteristic, first of all, of the rural population. The Altai Republic is the only region in Siberia with a predominantly rural population. The purpose of the article is to pose a problem in connection with the upcoming population census, the results of which, among other things, will form the budget of the social sphere. Education and health problems, amid the well-known restrictions caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic COVID-19, affect every Russian family. These acute problems today may worsen in the next inter-censal period (2021-2030) due to the expected low population of municipalities in the Altai Republic.

Abstract:
Abstract. This study is the first attempt in the literature on the subject of comparing water balance components for floodplain lake basins, depending on the type of a lake connection to the parent river. Research was carried out in the Bug River valley in 2007–2011 water years. Four types of connections were distinguished in the area under study. Simple water balance equation could only be used with regard to the lakes connected to the main river via the upstream crevasses. Detailed and individual water balance equations were developed with reference to the other types of lakes. Water gains and losses varied significantly in the lakes under study. Values of horizontal water balance components (inflow and outflow) of the floodplain lake in Wola Uhruska considerably prevailed over the vertical ones (precipitation and evaporation). Inflow of the Bug River waters was diverse during the time period under study and amounted from 600 000 to 2 200 000 m3 yr−1. Volumes of precipitation and evaporation were rather stable and amounted to approx. 30 000 m3 yr−1. The lowest disparity between horizontal and vertical water balance components was observed in the inter-levee lake. Both upstream inflow of rivers water and outflow from the lake (ranged from 0 in 2008 to 35 000 m3 yr−1 in 2009) were usually an order of magnitude higher than precipitation and evaporation from the lake surface (700–800 m3 yr−1). Study showed that the values and the proportion between aforementioned vertical and horizontal water balance elements were determined by the type of a lake connection to the Bug River. Storage volume showed no relationship to the type of connection, but resulted from individual features of the lakes (location within the valley, precipitation and evaporation volume, difference between water inflow and outflow).

Abstract:
Aim. In Turkey, in connection with the Bologna process, German is also taught in Turkish universities as an elective course. There is an important relationship between the selection of the subject in the elective German courses, detailed planning of the courses, and the implementation of the appropriate method. In this study, the subject of professions was planned for the elective German courses. The purpose of this study is the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a sample lesson to describe the selection of the subject of professions for the German course taught as an elective course in the universities. Concept and Methods. This study was conducted by qualitative research. The document research technique was used in the study (Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2008). During the 2018/2019 academic year, I taught about the subject of profession selection in my German courses. I prepared, implemented and evaluated the subject of professions according to the lesson planning model I had previously developed (Coşkun, 2018). I prepared the materials used in this course according to this model. Result and Conclusion. The success of the lesson planning model mentioned above was also observed in the activities conducted earlier. It was also seen that the students who attended German courses in connection with the Bologna process exerted efforts in establishing contact with the instructor and the students attending the class. It was observed that the participants introduced themselves, mentioned the field or the branch in the university where they were studying, and were interested to gain experience abroad in order to be successful in their professions. In addition to the subject discussed in the class, the method implemented in the lesson and the planning of the lesson according to the method, play an important role in the continuation of this interest. Therefore, effective lesson planning models and unique methods should be developed. Origin. Students from all the departments of the university may attend the elective German language classes opened in connection with the Bologna process. The condition for participation in the courses “German for Erasmus” and “German for Communication” which I teach, is to learn German at the A1 level. It is frequently observed that the participants speak German at different levels. The overseas experience of the participants, the quality of the German and other language education they had received from primary to high school and university play an important role in this. In the recent years, the number of participants from German and other foreign language speaking countries has increased. The students who had been in German-speaking countries under the Erasmus program participate in the German courses also to maintain their fluency in the German language. In order to execute the German courses effectively for different purposes, for different fields and participants coming from different countries and students with different levels of fluency, a suitable method should be developed. It is believed that this inter-disciplinary study will contribute to the active German courses.

Abstract:
The majority ofin vivoapplications of near-infrared spectroscopic (NIRS) monitoring use continuous wave instruments that require a fiberoptic cable connection between the subject and the instrument during monitoring. In studies of muscle physiology where subjects are exercising, and particularly in those who are engaged in sports activity, a wireless instrument with telemetric capacity provides obvious advantages. Having access to reliable telemetric NIRS technology will also increase the practicality and scope of this biomedical monitoring technique in clinical settings. We report the feasibility of using a wireless continuous wave NIRS instrument with light emitting diodes, spatially resolved configuration, and Bluetooth®capability to study skeletal muscle oxygenation and hemodynamics during isometric contraction and ischemia induction. In ten healthy subjects comparable patterns of change in chromophore concentration (oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin), total hemoglobin and muscle oxygen saturation were observed during 3 sets of isometric voluntary forearm muscle contraction at 10, 30 and 50% of maximum voluntary capacity (MVC), and a period of ischemia generated subsequently. This small series indicates that data with good intra- and inter-subject reproducibility that is free of movement artifact can be obtained with the wireless NIRS instrument described. The validity of these muscle studies demonstrate a basis for applying wireless NIRS monitoring to publisher-id biomedical applications.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to study the diachronic aspects of the supertext functioning as a semiosphere on the example of the estate supertext in Russian literature. Each fragment of the estate semiosphere, due to its iconic nature, is organized in accordance with the semiosis levels: semantics (a myth, a system of oppositions, motives and toposes), syntactics (linear connections between semantics components) and pragmatics (a communication system in the text, a subjective structure). In the iconic organization of the supertext, semantics refers to the paradigm level and composes an invariant system of values, which ensures the integrity of the supertext and the meaning continuity. The semantic components are concretized at the syntactic level in different contexts (the context of syntagma, the context of the author’s work, the historical context) and the plots (a consistent connection of motives and images). Out-of-text and in-text communications are reflected at the level of pragmatics (an author’s dialogue with tradition, various forms of quotations, involvement in aesthetic polemics of the era, inter-semiotic translation into different literary languages. Thus, syntactics and pragmatics refer to peripheral fragments that belong to the semiotic field of the estate text and they are primarily subject to changes in the diachronic development of the supertext. This semiotic model can become a universal one for studying the dynamic aspects of large supertext (overtext) formations/

Abstract:
The article dealt with the modern system of education used in secondary schools and one of its fundamental principles - integration. In our time, as in other spheres, integration is one of the most important stages in education. Integration is a special requirement in educational programs used during the current period in secondary schools. The Azerbaijani education system needs to integrate into the world and European education, continue and develop global educational trends. Integration into the education system was recognized as an important principle and lay on the basis of activity in the field of education. The role of integration is to interest the student not in one science, but in several, to attract his/her attention and encourage active learning activities. In the opposite case, there can be no successful outcome. Ensuring proper integration in the lessons of mathematics is a real creative work for the teacher and for the correct understanding of the students of this science. Integration was studied on the basis of the curriculum topics for grades V-VI of secondary schools in the subject "Mathematics". As in other classes of the secondary schools, a link between all subjects was created to improve the level of education in grades V-VI and to improve results, and the importance of co-education was noted. It was pointed out that mathematical knowledge is necessary to become an active member of modern society and that it is important to give preference to their connection with life. The importance of integrations used during training - inter-subjectional and intra-subjectional integrations - was emphasized, referring valuable sources. Examples were given concerning both integrations – intra-subjectional and inter-subjectional integration. We investigated the integration capabilities of some of the topics (sets, the smallest common factor, symmetry, adding data, scale, coordinates, etc.), both in V class and in VI class.

Abstract:
Conversion a peculiartort,1 boasts an equally idiosyncratic measure of damages. Other torts—and this includes torts involving interference with property, such as trespass or negligence—are about compensation: at least in principle, the plaintiff recovers, and recovers only, his loss 2 and even this he only gets subject to the principles of mitigation of damage and (normally) contributory negligence. Conversion, by contrast, seems to break all these rules. The claimant generally recovers not his loss 3 but the worth of the thing converted, 4 losing in the process, by virtue of a rather clumsy balancing rule, any inter rest he may have had in it. 5 Contributory negligence is disregarded, even in the case of claims for special damage (indeed, this is confirmed by stature 6); there is no general requirement of mitigation of loss; and even the normal rules of causation are substantially modified, 7 in that—at least in some cases—there is apparently no requirement that the plaintiff show a causal connection between the defendant's act of conversion and any loss suffered by him.

Abstract:
The concept of practice occurs frequently in current research about the visual. However, the term remains problematic as it cannot always clarify the complexity of the topic. Following an initial discussion of the subject area and central questions of a sociology of visual communication, I proceed to show that visual practices are embedded in many different social structures that condition forms of practice. This aspect is reflected on theoretically with reference to the concept of artifacts outlined by Herbert Simons in Sciences of the Artificial. As Simons does not seek to establish any connection to sociology, his thoughts must first be developed for the discipline. This is achieved, inter alia, by taking up the structural concepts of Giddens and Luhmann. Having established this background, the notion of practice is reconsidered in relation to the structures of social realities and to a concept of the sociology of visual communication. In the discussion, methodological and methodical conclusions are drawn from these conceptual considerations, which are important for the further development of the analysis of the visual.

Ethnolinguistic complexity may manifest itself in the presence of groups of significantly different sizes or in the presence of two or more roughly similar groups in terms of size. Coupled with their uneven spatial distribution within the boundaries of the region, it is a potential factor influencing not only the practices and structure of inter-elite relations but also the politicization of ethnicity. The presented research is based on R. Brubaker's approach to understanding ethnicity as a discursive result of situational actions, design and implementation of various political projects, not necessarily related to the sphere of ethnolinguistic regulation, and even random events. The author, also, uses N. Mukharyamov's idea of the interconnectedness of "language politics" and "language policy". The article presents you with an explanation of the connection between the structural factors of the scale of recognition of the minority language and the subject composition of the language policy, as well as the strategies of language conflicts at the regional level in Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia and the Perm region.

Abstract:
Relevance of research topic: Cross-sectoral balance is a tool with unique qualities for analyzing and designing economic development. The evolution of economic systems also affects the very balance and attitude of researchers to it. Formulation of the problem: For this reason, the opinion of one of the famous economists – Prof. Karaganov regarding the basic assumptions of Leontief's model is of interest. These are the baseline indicators examined with the model whose nature is not subject to change. The purpose of this study is to substantiate the inconsistency of criticism of Leontief's cross-sectoral balance model by Professor Sergei Karaganov. Method or methodology for conducting research. Scientific literature analysis method and the method of comparison were used. Presentation of the main material (results of work). At the very beginning of the article by Prof. Karaganov an incorrect presentation of the structure of the model of Leontief is made. The balance of inter-branch connections simultaneously reflects each of the branches in a dual role – a producer of production and a supplier of own manufactured products for other industries to meet their production needs. Prof. Karaganov demonstrates a clear lack of knowledge of the balance of cross-sectoral links (input-output model) by misrepresenting each of the branches of a national economic system. According to him, the branches of the national economy are divided into producing and consuming industries. It is beyond the view of Prof. Karaganov that in the balance of inter-sectoral links, the industries are not divided into producing and consuming products. At each point in time, each industry is represented both in its role as a producer of production and in its role as a recipient of production from other industries in connection with the production of its own production. Conclusions according to the article. At present, Leontiev's model is used solely from its analytical capabilities. And the main reason for this is the presence of many methodological and informational problems. But it is particularly important to make it clear that these problems, existing outside and independently of the model, do not make the model itself wrong or inadequate to use. The circumstances presented by Prof. Sergey Karaganov are just some of the examples of misunderstanding the capabilities of the model, leading it to impute problems that do not actually exist.

Abstract:
Understanding the historical experience of relations between peoples affects the political, economic and cultural sphere of peoples lives. Ethno-cultural and inter-confessional dialogue in the multi-ethnic space is always in the spotlight of researchers. Over the past two and a half centuries more than 50 thousand scientific works devoted to the history of Kazakhstan of the pre-revolutionary period were published in different regions of the former USSR and abroad. Historians of Russia and Kazakhstan, using an extensive documentary base, study all aspects of the interaction of their peoples. As before, the subject of discussion is a multifaceted problem of Russian-Kazakh relations, in particular, the entry of Kazakhstan into the Russian Empire in the early XVIII century. The paper deals with the nature of this connection in the context of cross-border region relations. The author relies on an approach that is free from emotional influence and reflects both negative and positive consequences of the Empires national policy. Colonization of the Kazakh steppe began with the territory of the southern Urals; the paper demonstrates the conflict potential, the confrontation of tsarism and Kazakh society. The author shows on the materials of Orenburg Region that despite all the vicissitudes of history the Kazakhs and the Russian people have developed sincere relations of good neighborliness and cooperation.

Abstract:
The article examines existing approaches and different opinions of scholars-penitentiaries regarding the legal nature of separation of prisoners sentenced to imprisonment. The legal analysis of positions of scholars in the field of criminal executive law, who investigated the essence of separation of prisoners sentenced to imprisonment in various aspects, made it possible to highlight following approaches: 1) principle of institution of execution of punishment in the form of imprisonment; 2) means of ensuring the regime; 3) condition for implementation of principle of differentiation; 4) special classification issue; 5) type of classification; 6) intrageneric institution; 7) criminal-executive means of preventing crimes in correctional institutions. The authors come to the conclusion that separation of convicts is an inter-sectoral institution (in a broad sense), and also belongs to the category of internal penal means (in a narrow sense). Arguing this point of view, the general constant and special features of legal institutions and legal means and their application to the subject of research are considered. The authors identify and substantiate the main tasks of separation of prisoners and its functions, which are an external manifestation of its essence and determine the social and legal purpose, functional connection with other phenomena. As a result of study of the legal nature, the author’s definition of separate maintenance of those sentenced to imprisonment is proposed, its goals are highlighted and argued.

The object of study is the series, which were shown on various Ukrainian TV channels: “Merezhivo Doli” (“Inter” TV channel), “Boronene kokhannya” (“Inter” TV channel), “Forget & Zgadai” (“Ukraine” TV channel), “Slid” ( TV channel "Ukraine"), "Bezsmertnik" (TV channel "Ukraine"). Subject of research: lack of subtitling as a way of audiovisual translation, as well as analysis recorded in Ukrainian subtitles, made in the course of working with Russian-language TV shows. Objective: to prove the need for more thorough and competent editing of Ukrainian subtitles, received in text form on the air of the leading domestic TV channels based on specific examples from subtitled films. During the work the following methods were used: observation, descriptive, comparative, analysis and synthesis, as well as generalizations. As a result of the research, it was established that it is the poor quality work of the editor that leads to the fact that Russian-language TV shows are superimposed on low-quality Ukrainian subtitles, and this plays an important role in shaping the general literacy of Ukrainians. The analysis of errors requiring the response of the professional community and recipients has a social and cultural significance. Visual perception of incorrectly written words or unedited sentences and phrases is one of the ways to popularize illiteracy among the population of our country. Today, representatives of the media community, having the necessary arsenal of knowledge and relevant technical equipment, are sometimes disregarding the performance of their professional duties, and this indicates a low level of their skills and special training. Conclusions: working on subtitles for an audiovisual product, the editor or subtitle covers not only all textual material, but also draws attention to other aspects of media art (working with monologues, dialogues, sound effects, images, and the general atmosphere of the frame). Professionalism involves not only creating a high-quality text product for the viewer / reader, but also an appropriate and adequate connection between non-verbal and verbal elements of the original and the translation.

Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze muscle oxygenation dynamics during repeated sprint ability (RSA): (8 sprint × 20 s recovery) by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The sample was made up of 38 professional women soccer players. To measure the external load, the best time, worst time, average time, individual speed, sprint decrement, and power were assessed. In connection with the internal load, the desaturation (sprint) and re-saturation (recovery) rates, as well as the oxygen extraction (∇%SmO2) in the gastrocnemius muscle and maximum heart rate (%HRmax) were measured. A repeated measures statistic was applied based on the inter-individual response of each subject from the baseline versus the other sprints, with linear regression and nonlinear regression analyses between variables. There was an increase in the SmO2: desaturation rate after four sprints (Δ = 32%), in the re-saturation rate after six sprints (Δ = 89%), and in ∇%SmO2 after four sprints (Δ = 72.1%). There was a linear association between the rates of desaturation and re-saturation relationships and the worst time (r = 0.85), and a non-linear association between ∇%SmO2 and speed (r = 0.89) and between ∇%SmO2 and the sprint decrease (r = 0.93). The progressive increase in SmO2 during RSA is a performance limitation to maintain a high speed; it depends on the capacity of fatigue resistance. Therefore, monitoring the muscle oxygenation dynamics could be a useful tool to evaluate the performance in women soccer players.

Abstract:
The article studies an inter-vention focusing on explicit teaching and implementation of writing frames in upper secondary school. The aim is to investigate the students’ perspectives regarding the teaching and their evaluation of writing competencies. These results are analysed in connection with the teachers’ experiences from teacher learning groups across disciplines. Our data are based on observations and surveys from both students and teachers. The results show that in general, the students have benefited from explicit teaching and a common approach across the disciplines. However, they also report on the difficulties regarding dis-cursive writing. The results for the teachers are similar. In addition, they report that teachers’ learning communities are valuable. The most interesting finding of this study was that the explicit teaching initiated meaningful discussion concerning learning and student writing. Keywords: teacher learning communities, explicit teaching, writing frames, five paragraph essays

Abstract:
When considering the challenges for sustainable business, companies implementing cross-border reallocation of capital by means of mergers and acquisitions should take into account the context and evaluation of attributes of their future implementation. The main aim of the paper is, therefore, to identify and specify the key attributes of sustainable cross-border mergers or acquisitions (M&As) influencing the considerations about their future implementation. On the basis of the views of managers from 120 companies (international corporations selected from the Zephyr database) located in 45 countries within the European area that had previously been the subject of a cross-border merger or acquisition, significant attributes were extracted in connection with their experience from their implementation. These attributes are taken into account when considering the implementation of a cross-border merger or acquisition in the future. A factor analysis of the data obtained allowed the extraction of three key attributes of implementation of a potential merger and acquisition process as an important tool of business sustainability—aims, concerns, and reasons. This paper further presents the basic parameters of the Attributes of Future Mergers and Acquisitions (AFM&A) methodology: eigenvalues, Cronbach’s alpha values, the percentage of the variance explained, inter-correlations of the extracted factors, and the results of an analysis of differences in the assessment of the extracted factors by managers. At the same time, no statistically significant differences were found in the assessment of the extracted merger and acquisition assessment factors. The study fills in the research gap in the area by identifying and specifying the attributes of considering the future implementation of M&A management in terms of the broader concept of this issue.

Abstract:
Aim. In Turkey, German ranks second after English as a foreign language in private courses, schools, and universities. There is an important relation between the selection of the subject of German courses, i.e., the detailed planning of the courses, and the implementation of the appropriate method. In this research, the subject of cuisine was planned for teaching German at universities. The purpose of this research is the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a sample lesson focused on the selection of the subject of cuisine for German courses taught in the universities. Methods. This research on cuisine was qualitative in nature. The document analysis technique was used in the research (Kuş, 2007; Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2008). During the 2018/2019 academic year the researcher taught on the subject of cuisine selection in his German courses. The implementation and evaluation of the subject of cuisine are developed by Hasan Coşkun (2020) in accordance with the lesson planning model previously prepared. The materials used in this lesson are prepared according to the model developed by Coşkun (2020). The unit on cuisine has been revised for this article. Result and Conclusion. The success of the lesson planning model mentioned in this article was also observed in the activities conducted earlier. It was also seen that the students who attended German courses in connection with education or work in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland exerted efforts in establishing contact with the instructor and with other students attending the class. It was observed that participants talked about the Turkish, German, and Chinese cuisine in their families, peer groups, restaurants, and snack bars. In addition to the subject discussed in the class, the method implemented in the lesson and the planning of the course according to the method, play an important role in the continuation of the students’ interest. Therefore, effective lesson planning models should be developed. This lesson model is also applicable to other languages. Originality. German is offered as a foreign language in Turkish schools in the second grade. Consequently, German is usually chosen as a second foreign language after English. Students from all the departments of the university may attend the elective German language classes to study or work in Germany. The condition for participation in the courses “German for Erasmus” and “German for Communication,” taught by the researcher, aims to prepare the students to read and speak German at the A2 level. It is frequently observed that the participants speak German at different levels. The overseas experience of the participants, the level of their German and their knowledge of other languages play an important role in this respect. In recent years, the number of course participants from Germany and other countries have increased. The students who had been in German speaking countries within the Erasmus program participate in German courses to maintain their fluency in the German language. To conduct the courses effectively, a suitable method should be developed and such an approach will help the participants who come from different countries and students with different levels of fluency. It is believed that this inter-disciplinary research will contribute to the use of the active method during German lessons.

Abstract:
Pervasive collaborative computing within the Internet of Things (IoT) has progressed rapidly over the last decade. Nevertheless, emerging architectural models and their applications still suffer from limited capacity in areas like power, efficient computing, memory, connectivity, latency and bandwidth. Technological development is still in progress in the fields of hardware, software and wireless communications. Their communication is usually done via the Internet and wireless via base stations. However, these models are sometimes subject to connectivity failures and limited coverage. The models that incorporate devices with peer-to-peer (P2P) communication technologies are of great importance, especially in harsh environments. However, their power-limited devices are randomly distributed on the periphery where their availability can be limited and arbitrary. Despite these limitations, their capabilities and efficiency are constantly increasing. Accelerating development in these areas can be achieved by improving architectures and technologies of pervasive collaborative computing, which refers to the collaboration of mobile and embedded computing devices. To enhance mobile collaborative computing, especially in the models acting at the network’s periphery, we are interested in modernizing and strengthening connectivity using wireless technologies and P2P communication. Therefore, the main goal of this paper is to enhance and maintain connectivity and improve the performance of these pervasive systems while performing the required and expected services in a challenging environment. This is especially important in catastrophic situations and harsh environments, where connectivity is used to facilitate and enhance rescue operations. Thus, we have established a resilient mobile collaborative architectural model comprising a peripheral autonomous network of pervasive devices that considers the constraints of these resources. By maintaining the connectivity of its devices, this model can operate independently of wireless base stations by taking advantage of emerging P2P connection technologies such as Wi-Fi Direct and those enabled by LoPy4 from Pycom such as LoRa, BLE, Sigfox, Wi-Fi, Radio Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Likewise, we have designed four algorithms to construct a group of devices, calculate their scores, select a group manager, and exchange inter- and intra-group messages. The experimental study we conducted shows that this model continues to perform efficiently, even in circumstances like the breakdown of wireless connectivity due to an extreme event or congestion from connecting a huge number of devices.

Abstract:
This article presents an analysis of names of diseases that appear in Russian imprecations. The disease is one of the most sought-after malicious characters (actors) of the imprecations; the constant recourse to this character in order to harm somebody is clear: many diseases are characterized by terrible symptoms and consequences; the nature of diseases is irrational for the naive consciousness; the ailments are often anthropomorphous, endowed with the properties of an active subject; in many cases, the images of diseases “merge” with the images of demons — the main contenders for the role of a source of evil; diseases are recipients of various genres of verbal magic, which contributes to the accumulation of an arsenal of magical formulas and inter-genre exchange of these formulas. The authors set out to determine what disease names are the most popular in the texts of imprecations and why. The analysis showed that the names of the following groups of diseases can be seen in Russian imprecations: any sickness, disease in general; external wounds, injuries and skin diseases (as well as internal diseases, aff ecting the condition of the skin); fever; acute pain syndrome; mental and nervous ailments, loss and clouding of consciousness; blindness; intestinal and stomach diseases; strain; “infl icted” diseases. The choice of these types of diseases is due to: a) expressiveness and disruptiveness of their symptoms; b) appraisal of these diseases as “low”, impure, humiliating, associated with the untidiness of the addressee; c) prevalence of these diseases among the people; g) connection of these diseases with the demons, etc. In the study, the authors establish the origin of a number of names of diseases with unclear semantics, as well as classify the names of ailments in accordance with their motivational characteristics.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to develop a framework to assess the reliability of structures subject to a fire following an earthquake (FFE) event. The proposed framework is implemented in one seamless programming environment and is used to analyze an example nine-story steel moment-resisting frame (MRF) under an FFE. The framework includes uncertainties in load and material properties at elevated temperatures and evaluates the MRF performance based on various limit states. Design/methodology/approach Specifically, this work models the uncertainties in fire load density, yield strength and modulus of elasticity of steel. The location of fire compartment is also varied to investigate the effect of story level (lower vs higher) and bay location (interior vs exterior) of the fire on the post-earthquake performance of the frame. The frame is modeled in OpenSees to perform non-linear dynamic, thermal and reliability analyses of the structure. Findings Results show that interior bays are more susceptible than exterior bays to connection failure because of the development of larger tension forces during the cooling phase of the fire. Also, upper floors in general are more probable to reach specified damage states than lower floors because of the smaller beam sizes. Overall, results suggest that modern MRFs with a design that is governed by inter-story drifts have enough residual strength after an earthquake so that a subsequent fire typically does not lead to results significantly different compared to those of an event where the fire occurs without previous seismic damage. However, the seismic damage could lead to larger fire spread, increased danger to the building as a whole and larger associated economic losses. Originality/value Although the paper focuses on FFE, the proposed framework is general and can be extended to other multi-hazard scenarios.

Abstract:
The subject of the research is an analysis of the decentralization impact on Ukraine local budgets formation. The purpose of this study is to find a solution to the problematic aspects of the formation of self-sufficient, financially wealthy communities by analyzing the impact of decentralization on the formation of local budgets and the budgets of the combined territorial communities. Method or methodology for conducting research. The study used a set of general scientific methods and techniques, namely: comparative analysis and synthesis, abstraction, the method of induction and deduction, idealization, generalization, analogy, modeling, as well as special - expert survey, grouping, forecasting. Results of work. Decentralization today is the most effective and efficient way to ensure the financial autonomy and sustainability of local authorities by transferring to them the powerful sources of budget revenues previously assigned to the central government, and expanding the financial base of administrative-territorial formations. That is, the introduction of a new model of financial support for local budgets consists in expanding the rights of local authorities, the sources of their formation, giving them full budgetary independence and creating real ground for the exercise of their powers. And in connection with the amendments to the Budget Code on the introduction of medium-term planning, the issue of reporting and evaluating the effectiveness of budget programs is relevant for financial services workers. The field of application of results: territorial communities of Ukraine. Conclusions according to the article. One of the important problems in the formation of local budgets is to ensure balanced socio-economic development of the regions and the formation of inter-budgetary relations in order to increase the level of financial self-sufficiency by strengthening budgetary decentralization. In order for the community to be able to carry out its tasks, it must have adequate financial resources to cover its own expenses. It is likely that the formation of financially self-sufficient administrative-territorial units requires changes not only in tax and budgetary legislation, but also in the territorial size of communities, districts and regions.

Abstract:
Introduction: the article examines the development of the Finno-Ugric phoneme *ä of the non-first syllable in the Moksha language, the representatives of which are represented by different inter-dialect and intra-dialect correspondences, depending on the specific phonetic position. The subject of the research is the dialects of the Moksha language. Objective: to research the representative potential of the Finno-Ugric non-first syllable *ä in the Moksha dialects in accordance with the phonetic environment; to determine its correspondences and to map the distribution areal. Research materials: the data collected during dialectological expeditions by the graduate students and employees of the Linguistics Sector of the Research Institute for the Humanities under the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, as well as by students of the National Department of the Philological Faculty of the Mordovian State University in the period from 2000 to 2015. Results and novelty of the research: in the result of our research, we came to the conclusion that the reflexes of the Finno- Ugric phoneme *ä of the non-first syllable are represented in all three dialects of the Moksha language. The historical vowel has survived only in the so called ä-dialect. It is observed in the position of a closed syllable in the presence of the same vowel in the first syllable (in several words), as well as in the position of an open syllable with front vowels in the first syllable, where it alternates with a back vowel a; in the other two dialects it corresponds to the vowel of the middle rise e. In the absolute outcome of most of the words *ä was realized into Ч, ə and ě, ə, which in the auslaut of names after a single consonant, being in a weak position, is dropped out. The vowel elision at the morphemic junction continues to the present day. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the history of the development of the Finno-Ugric phoneme *ä of the non-first syllable has not been sufficiently considered. The relevance of the chosen topic is dictated by the need to study the unique features of the vocalism of the Moksha dialects in connection with the deep assimilative processes occurring in the language.

Abstract:
Straipsnis analizuoja Edmundo Husserlio, Jeano-Paulo Sartre’o ir Maurise Merleau-Ponty požiūrį į kūno vaidmenį intersubjektyviuose santykiuose. Jeanas-Paulas Sartre’as atmeta dvigubų jutimų sampratą. Phenomenology of Intersubjective Body: the Experience of TouchDalius Jonku Summary The article deals with the conception of intersubjective body in Edmund Husserl’s, Jean-Paul Sartre’s and Maurice Merleau-Ponty philosophy. Jean-Paul Sartre rejects the conception of double sense, i.e. he denies the possibility to have bodily experience as a subject and an object at the same time. He argues that we can know Other visually only as an object. Husserl and Merleau-Ponty are in search of connection with the Other on a new plane. They investigate the preconditions of the openness to the Other. Their attention is focused on the bodily self-awareness in the experience of touch. Both philosophers develop the conception of bodily quasi-reflection. They transform the traditional conception of selfhood and show its paradoxical alienation from itself. The one’s own body is revealed as insisting on the otherness. The analysis of double senses in the experience of the sense of touch reveals the experience of “my” body as an inter-corporality. That’s because both philosophers can reject the prejudice of immanence and transcendence. The experience of a living body is always a relation with “myself”, with the other and with the world. Abstract:
AbstractRelying on three inter-Asian colonial debates from French Indochina, this paper attempts to widen our analytical approach to the study of colonialism in Indochina beyond the ‘colonizer’–‘colonized’ opposition by factoring in the relationships among the diverse Asian colonized living within the colonial state without downplaying the important role Western colonialism played in transforming those very relationships or being affected by them. The French Indochinese case is helpful, for it suggests that inter-Asian connections did anything vanish, but rather intensified because of the colonial experience. Numerous Lao, Khmer, Vietnamese and Chinese subject elites continued to engage each other and the French in fascinating and sometimes heated debates about the political, legal, cultural and economic place each group held in French Indochina – or did not want to hold. This directly affected how they came to interact with one another in new ways, essential to understanding the complexity of the colonial encounter at the time and can provide new insights into post-colonial and international history. Lastly, this wider approach to studying the colonial encounter allows us to view the French side of the colonial equation from a new vantage point.

Therefore, the line of intersection of the tangent plane and the surface, or two touching surfaces, has a special point at the tangency point. It is known from differential geometry [1] that this point can be nodal, return, or isolated one. In turn, this point’s appearance depends on differential properties of the surface(s) in this point’s vicinity. That's why, for the competent solution of the considered positional problem account must be also taken of the inter-subject connections for descriptive and differential geometry. In the training courses of descriptive geometry tangent planes are built only to the simplest surfaces, containing, as a rule, the frames of straight lines and circles. Therefore, the tangent plane is defined by two tangents drawn at the tangency point to two such lines. In engineering practice, as such lines are used cross-sections a surface by planes parallel to any two coordinate planes. That is, from the standpoints for the course of higher mathematics, the problem is reduced to calculation for partial derivatives. Although this topic is studied after the course of descriptive geometry, it seems possible to give geometric explanation for computation of partial derivatives in a nutshell. It also seems that the study of this topic will be stimulated by a story about engineering problems, which solution is based on construction of the tangent plane and the normal to the technical surface. In this paper has been presented an example for the use of surface curvature lines for programming of milling processing for 3D-harness surfaces.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the connections and interdependences of criminal and procedural provisions in deciding matters of exemption from criminal liability; particular procedural limiters (filters) are highlighted and their influence on the application of substantive provisions is demonstrated. Additional (synthesized, criminal procedural) rules of application of the provisions on exemption from criminal liability are proposed, which are subject to be considered in practice. At the expense of inter-sectoral aspects the possibility of quality improvement of the criminal and criminal procedural law enforcement is justified.

Abstract:
This article is an attempt at a comprehensive legal analysis of current problems of civil law in the fields of contemporary law of Ukraine. With regard to cross-industry links, legal doctrine is defined as relations of interdependence, conditionality and commonality between different legal sectors, including their individual parts. In particular, the problems of correlation of civil law of Ukraine with other branches of law, such as labor law, business law, administrative law, criminal law, information law, financial law, are considered. Considering the problems of civil law in the context of modern law, the connection between private and public in civil law of Ukraine was highlighted. It has been concluded that scientists have for many years regarded civil law as a basic component of private law, and in some cases even identified it. At the same time, both the branches of private law and the branches of public law are recognized as components of the unified system of law of Ukraine, and, accordingly, they cannot exist completely autonomously from each other. All areas of law interact and interact. It was possible to distinguish the civil law of Ukraine from other basic branches of the system of Ukrainian law, and to draw some conclusions about the recognition of the civil law of Ukraine as a complex branch of law. Civil law terms and concepts used in other areas of law, relevant industry codes or other regulatory issues were also considered. The cross-sectoral links of civil law, which are not only limited to the legislative sphere, but also the cross-sectoral links at the level of enforcement are highlighted. This article stated that in order to achieve a stable and efficient functioning of the legal system, as a component of the domestic legal system, it is possible, subject to fruitful cooperation of the legislator, theorists and practitioners, their main task – to justify and develop a single organic complex of balanced branches of law. That is why special attention should be paid to the interaction of civil law with other branches of Ukrainian law, in particular, to determine the points of their contact, permissible situations and limits of mutual influence. The tendency to expand the sphere of civil law is reflected in the domestic law enforcement practice, which is reflected in the actual extension of civil law structures to public rights, the judicial protection of which affects the rights and obligations of a private nature (in particular, it concerns a tax lien, financial credit, etc.). It is concluded that the system of civil (private) law should be characterized as clear criteria for boundaries of action and separation from related fields (industries). Public law, defined by the codes of the relevant sphere (branch) of law, and take into account the tendencies of development of relevant spheres of public relations by means of norms capable to create inter-sectoral links with public-law norms in the framework of complex legislative acts.

Abstract:
The connections between men, masculinity and management remain understated if not largely concealed, despite a critical spotlight being increasingly cast on masculinity by many academic and other writers. In a similar vein, numerous commentators on organisation have charted the rise of new organisational forms and structures, and the management practices which flow from them. With few notable exceptions, however these bodies of work deny or downplay the complex linkages and inter connections between masculinity and the activities of management. By drawing on the case of UK further education (FE), and more particularly, the management practices therein, an aim of this article is to draw attention to this inter-relationship of masculinities and men managers. In so doing, we suggest that the term ‘masculine subject’ best exemplifies those men, and women, who seek to invest their sense of being in mas culinist discourses. The empirical basis is taken from research undertaker across a number of FE colleges wherein 24 men managers were interviewed as part of a larger project concerned with the management and regulation of the sector. In exposing the intensified and increasingly uncertain work conditions now typifying the new FE work culture, this article draws attention to practices of oppression and bullying by managers underplayed or overlooked by writers elsewhere.

Abstract:
Background. Abnormalities in white matter integrity and specific functional network alterations have been increasingly reported in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, little is known about the inter-hemispheric interaction in PD.Methods. Fifty-one drug naive patients with PD and 51 age- and gender-matched healthy subjects underwent resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) scans. We compared the inter-hemispheric resting-state functional connectivity between patients with PD and healthy controls, using the voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity (VMHC) approach. Then, we correlated the results from VMHC and clinical features in PD patients.Results. Relative to healthy subject, patients exhibited significantly lower VMHC in putamen and cortical regions associated with sensory processing and motor control (involving sensorimotor and supramarginal cortex), which have been verified to play a critical role in PD. In addition, there were inverse relationships between the UPDRS motor scores and VMHC in the sensorimotor, and between the illness duration and VMHC in the supramarginal gyrus in PD patients.Conclusions. Our results suggest that the functional coordination between homotopic brain regions is impaired in PD patients, extending previous notions about the disconnection of corticostriatal circuit by providing new evidence supporting a disturbance in inter-hemispheric connections in PD.

Abstract:
This article deals with general and specific aspects of how Romanian media covered the African swine flu crisis between 2014 and 2018. The analysis was mainly based on the available ground of media framing theory. The mediatic tone of reporting the African swine flu predicament complies with the pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis stages, as identified in the literature. Concerning the Romanian media approach on the African swine flu subject, the economic consequences and the mediatic leadership frames proved to be strongly related to similar inter-human and zoonotic diseases. The Romanian coverage of epizootics' main frames indicates a detached approach to the subject with exciting variations regarding the connections between information units and the general norms of mediatic content. This research suggests a few remarkable aspects that hint at current changes in the journalistic paradigm and the need to acknowledge crisis communication's significance when dealing with epizootic diseases.

Abstract:
The subject of the article is the study of the structure of low-bit binary adders for an arbitrary modulus of the residual class system (RCS). The purpose of this article is to develop an algorithm for synthesizing the structure of the adder of two residuals of numbers by an arbitrary value of the RCS module, by organizing inter-bit connections between the binary digits of the adder, the combination of which determines the structure of the adder modulo. Tasks: to investigate the possibility of performing the operation of addition of two residuals in RCS based on positional binary adders; to analyze the influence of additionally introduced interdigit connections into the positional binary adder on the value of the contents of this adder; to develop an algorithm for the synthesis of an adder by an arbitrary RCS module. Research methods: methods of analysis and synthesis of computer systems, number theory, coding theory in RCS. The following results were obtained. It is shown in the work that the introduction of additional interdigit connections in a positional binary adder allows changing the contents of this adder. The rules for the introduction of these additional links are formulated, on the basis of which an algorithm for the synthesis of an adder by an arbitrary RCS modulus is obtained. Specific examples of the synthesis of structures of binary adders for various values of the RCS modules are given. Conclusions. Thus, the paper proposes an algorithm for the synthesis of an adder by an arbitrary RCS module, which is based on the use of positional binary adders, by introducing additional inter-bit connections. The application of the considered algorithm expands the functionality of positional binary adders

Abstract:
Presently, visual and quantitative approaches for image-supported diagnosis of dementing disorders rely on regional intensity rather than on connectivity measurements. Here, we test metabolic connectivity for differentiation between Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Positron emission tomography with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose was conducted in 47 patients with mild Alzheimer’s disease, 52 patients with mild frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and 45 healthy elderly subjects. Sparse inverse covariance estimation and selection were used to identify patterns of metabolic, inter-subject covariance on the basis of 60 regional values. Relative to healthy subjects, significantly more pathological within-lobe connections were found in the parietal lobe of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, and in the frontal and temporal lobes of subjects with frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Relative to the frontotemporal lobar degeneration group, more pathological connections between the parietal and temporal lobe were found in the Alzheimer’s disease group. The obtained connectivity patterns differentiated between two patients groups with an overall accuracy of 83%. Linear discriminant analysis and univariate methods provided an accuracy of 74% and 69%, respectively. There are characteristic patterns of abnormal metabolic connectivity in mild Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Such patterns can be utilized for single-subject analyses and might be more accurate in the differential diagnosis of dementing disorders than traditional intensity-based analyses.

Abstract:
A Review of: Williams, D. and C. Wavell. “Secondary School Teachers’ Conceptions of Student Information Literacy.” Journal of Librarianship and Information Science 39.4 (2007): 199-212. Objective – To examine school teachers’ understanding of student information literacy and to look at the implications of the findings for developing information literacy in students. Design – Qualitative research design (group discussions; verbal and written reflections). Setting – Secondary schools in the United Kingdom. Subjects – Secondary school teachers with various subject specializations. Methods – The study initially involved 31 secondary school teachers; 24 from seven schools in Scotland and seven from two schools in England. Participant teachers were self-selecting. The study took a phenomenographic approach. Teachers’ perceptions of their students’ abilities and their experiences and perceptions of their role in developing these abilities were examined through data collection in three stages. During the first stage, group discussions established the teacher’s initial conceptions of information literacy. Participants also filled out an information task grid which, together with focus questions, ensured that discussions were kept in the realm of practice. During the second stage of data collection, teachers observed and reflected on their students’ use of information in classroom activities. This was accompanied by informal site visits during which 26 of the participants were introduced to information literacy frameworks and definitions in order to contextualize reflections and discussions. Field notes were used to record these informal meetings. Six participants provided written feedback on reflections. In the third and final stage, a summary of themes from the first two stages was sent to 23 of the participants prior to a second group discussion in order to try to stimulate further reflection. Discussions were audio recorded and transcribed. The transcribed data were analyzed for the dimensions of variation of teachers’ conceptions of student information literacy and key elements associated with each category of description were determined. Main Results – The data revealed six main conceptions of student information literacy among the teachers: “finding information,” “linguistic understanding,” “making meaning,” “skills,” “critical awareness of sources,” and “independent learning.” There was no particular hierarchy in their conceptualization, although independent learning seemed to be the ultimate goal. Teachers’ conceptions in the beginning of the study focused on the ability to find information, whereas after a period of reflection and further discussions, a broader and more complex understanding of information literacy appeared. Table 1 simplifies some of the data from the table in the article and shows conceptualizations as well as some of the contextual elements. [Table 1] Teachers felt that they had at least some control over the development of student ability to find information, develop skills, and critically appraise sources, even though these were not the highest learning priority outcomes. However, in the three areas of ability which the teachers regarded as of high learning priority (linguistic understanding, making meaning and independent learning), they felt that they had little control over the development of these abilities in the students. Conclusion – The teachers’ conceptions of student information literacy overlapped with the ideas in existing models and frameworks for information literacy. However, some areas of information literacy were not addressed by the teachers, i.e., ethical issues in the use of information. In the categories of description of high learning priority, the main reason for the low sense of control by the teachers seemed to be curricular pressures – “our content is prescribed and time allocated doing each of these things is prescribed so we have got limited room for maneuvering” (206). The teachers tended to regard information literacy as process and skills-orientated, with little connection to learning. The authors note that other research also suggests that school librarians also have difficulty relating information finding to learning in specific subject disciplines. There is a clear gap here as the authors point out that “there is a danger that students will not understand the significance of learning with information for academic achievement or for independent learning” (209). The authors suggest that the way forward for further development of information literacy in the classroom and library is through dialogue and that “librarian-teacher collaborations needs to be founded on shared understanding of the complex inter-relationship between information and learning” (209).

Abstract:
The authors establish a set of six new theta-function identities involving multivariable R-functions which are based upon a number of q-product identities and Jacobi’s celebrated triple-product identity. These theta-function identities depict the inter-relationships that exist among theta-function identities and combinatorial partition-theoretic identities. Here, in this paper, we consider and relate the multivariable R-functions to several interesting q-identities such as (for example) a number of q-product identities and Jacobi’s celebrated triple-product identity. Various recent developments on the subject-matter of this article as well as some of its potential application areas are also briefly indicated. Finally, we choose to further emphasize upon some close connections with combinatorial partition-theoretic identities and present a presumably open problem.

Abstract As an attempt to compare Lǐ Hè, a Chinese poet from the Táng Dynasty, and the French 19th century poet Arthur Rimbaud (in spite of a total lack of any traceable historical, cultural and inter-textual connections), this paper focuses on linguistic and stylistic phenomena serving as a proof for a striking resemblance between the two authors. Thus the first part of the article deals with effects of focalization, a specific conception of the metaphor as well as the status of the lyrical subject, establishing a theoretical basis for the concrete comparison presented in the second part. The conclusion is concerned with the question if the poems of Lǐ Hè can be translated into French by ‛adopting‟ Rimbaud‟s poetic language.

Abstract:
AbstractA range of geographical, political, legal, economic, scientific, environmental, and other inter-connections can be drawn between the Falkland Islands and Antarctica. One common element concerns the fact that both areas remain the subject of long-standing dispute between Argentina and Britain. In the past, various attempts have been made to present Antarctic experience as the basis for action in the Falklands question, most notably, as part of the search for a resolution of the Anglo-Argentine impasse regarding sovereignty over the Falklands/Malvinas. A number of proposed linkages are examined, although, admittedly, it is easier to pose questions than to provide answers. Nevertheless, the proposals articulate the merits of viewing the Falkland Islands in a wider regional context, defined as covering the archipelago, South Georgia, the South Sandwich Islands, Antarctica, and possibly South America.

Abstract:
AbstractLinking teaching with research in any stream is the need of the hour. Homoeopathy, being an integral part of health care delivery system in India and many other countries, goes no exception to it. Both teaching and research are inter-related, dependent and complementary to each other. Without quality teaching, research is like learning without curiosity, or like cataract surgery without restoring visual equity, or like studying Materia Medica without knowledge in Organon of Medicine. Similarly, sans high standard research, teaching in any medical discipline is like searching without direction, or like operating upon a human subject without knowing anatomy. In spite of the fact that some of the teaching institutions have taken up research projects and the outcomes of such research studies have been published in reputed medical journals, yet the quality of such articles needs further improvement. Many homoeopathy research organisations as well as the researchers, on certain aspects, have failed to update with the recent advancements in the field of education. Absence of mandatory provision for conducting research in teaching curriculum at undergraduate (UG) level and lack of proper training on research methodology and biostatistics at postgraduate (PG) level have led to the non-involvement of academicians and students in research studies. As a result, a void has been created in scientific publications by the faculty and students of homoeopathic colleges. The latest progresses in the field of research are useful for teaching of the individual subjects of UG and PG courses. The academicians as well as the researchers have to sit and discuss across the table the modalities of meaningful integration of teaching and research for mutual benefit. Hence, different facets of connecting teaching and research need to be deliberated upon to find out mutually acceptable solutions.
