Abstract:
In this paper, we propose STCM, a context-aware secure traffic control model to manage competing traffic flows at a given intersection by using secure messages with real-time traffic information. The vehicle is modeled as a virtual sensor which reports the traffic state, such as its speed and location, to a traffic light controller through a secure and computationally lightweight protocol. During the reporting process, a vehicle’s identity and location are kept anonymous to any other vehicle in the system. At an intersection, the traffic light controller receives the messages with traffic information, verifies the identities of the vehicles, and dynamically implements and optimizes the traffic light phases in real-time. Moreover, the system is able to detect the presence of emergency vehicles (such as ambulances and fire fighting trucks) in the communication range and prioritize the intersection crossing of such vehicles to in order to minimize their waiting times. The simulation results demonstrate that the system significantly reduces the waiting time of the vehicles in both light and heavy traffic flows compared to the pretimed signal control and the adaptive Webster’s method. Simulation results also yield effective robustness against impersonating attacks from malicious vehicles.

Abstract:
In view of the need of automation and informatization in water-saving irrigation, the development in short message remote control system for automatic irrigation is carried on based on SMS via communication network. According to the remote control information received by SMS (the opening and closing commands of the valves, remote irrigation inquiry commands, etc), binary codes needed by the terminal unit are generated by the remote control system to perform irrigation control or state inquiry. The information fed back by the system is firstly processed into PDU strings that conform to the format of SMS, and then are transmitted to the client (mobile phone, computer, etc) by a wireless transmission module through communication network to display the executing state in the field and the inquiry results of the system. With its stability in running, convenience in operation and being workable in use, this system is suitable for wide application in large areas.

Abstract:
IoT-based applications operate in a client–server architecture, which requires a specific communication protocol. This protocol is used to establish the client–server communication model, allowing all clients of the system to perform specific tasks through internet communications. Many data communication protocols for the Internet of Things are used by IoT platforms, including message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT), advanced message queuing protocol (AMQP), MQTT for sensor networks (MQTT-SN), data distribution service (DDS), constrained application protocol (CoAP), and simple object access protocol (SOAP). These protocols only support single-topic messaging. Thus, in this work, an IoT message protocol that supports multi-topic messaging is proposed. This protocol will add a simple “brain” for IoT platforms in order to realize an intelligent IoT architecture. Moreover, it will enhance the traffic throughput by reducing the overheads of messages and the delay of multi-topic messaging. Most current IoT applications depend on real-time systems. Therefore, an RTOS (real-time operating system) as a famous OS (operating system) is used for the embedded systems to provide the constraints of real-time features, as required by these real-time systems. Using RTOS for IoT applications adds important features to the system, including reliability. Many of the undertaken research works into IoT platforms have only focused on specific applications; they did not deal with the real-time constraints under a real-time system umbrella. In this work, the design of the multi-topic IoT protocol and platform is implemented for real-time systems and also for general-purpose applications; this platform depends on the proposed multi-topic communication protocol, which is implemented here to show its functionality and effectiveness over similar protocols.

Abstract:
Accidents are the major causes of death, be it in today's most technologically advanced world. Road accidents and traffic congestion are the major problems in urban areas. Currently there is no technology for detection of accidents. Also due to the delay in reaching of the ambulance to the accident location and the traffic congestion in between accident location and hospital increases the chances of the death of the victim. There is a need of introducing a system to reduce the loss of life due to accidents and the time taken by the ambulance to reach the hospital. Yearly lots of visually impaired people lose their lives by being victims of such accidents. To overcome the drawback of existing system we will implement the new system in which there is an automatic detection of accident through sensors and it will send the location of the accident to the Nearest Hospital, Police station and to the family members which will rush an ambulance from a nearest hospital to the accident spot. This will minimize the time of ambulance to reach the hospital. To achieve this we are using like MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) (MPU6050), And using GPS module we will get the location where the accident took place and by using NODEMCU and IFTTT messaging protocol we will send the message of obtained location. Along with this there would be control of traffic light signals in the path of the ambulance using RFID TECHNOLOGY. This system is fully automated, thus it finds the accident spot, controls the traffic lights, helping to reach the hospital in time.

Abstract:
With the growing popularity of social networks and collaboration systems, people are increasingly working with or socially connected with each other. Unified messaging system provides a single interface for users to receive and process information from multiple sources. It is highly desirable to design attention management solution that can help users easily navigate and process dozens of unread messages from a unified message system. Moreover, with the proliferation of mobile devices people are now selectively consuming the most important messages on the go between different activities in their daily life. The information overload problem is especially acute for mobile users with small screen to display. In this paper, we present \PAM, an intelligent end-to-end Personalized Attention Management solution that employs analytical techniques that can learn user interests and organize and prioritize incoming messages based on user interests. For a list of unread messages, \PAM generates a concise attention report that allows users to quickly scan the important new messages from his important social connections as well as messages about his most important tasks that the user is involved with. Our solution can also be applied in other applications such as news filtering and alerts on mobile devices. Our evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of \PAM.

Abstract:
Information sharing is essential for autonomous driving supported by communications and smart traffic driven by big data. It enables the acquisition of knowledge in cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), which ultimately increases the integrity and accuracy of road environmental data and thereby improves the efficiency, safety and comfort of the traffic system. Moreover, many cloud services and applications, such as self-healing HD Maps, demand massive information sharing by means of vehicle-to-X (V2X) communications. In this paper, we review two existing frameworks for information sharing in C-ITS, which are open, standardized and commonly accepted: SENSORIS primarily targets at data sharing with and among clouds, specifically for digital maps. V2X-Messaging focuses on road safety and traffic efficiency based on ad hoc communications among C-ITS-Stations (C-ITS-S), including vehicles, the roadside infrastructure and backends. Then, we analyze both frameworks considering various technical criteria and involved use cases. Finally, we propose a hybrid software architecture that combines both information sharing approaches and facilitates interworking between SENSORIS and V2X-Messaging in order to enhance C-ITS application.

Abstract:
“What is an simple yet effective method to improve the mental health of individuals?” is the question that we chose to tackle [7]. The solution that we came up with was having a deep conversation with another person. From personal experiences, having deep conversations with another person seemed to be one of the most effective ways to keep someone's mental health issues under control and maintain a more positive outlook on life. Sharing similar experiences with another person can demonstrate to people that they are not alone and there is always someone who can relate to them and lead them down the right path. In order to provide people with an easier method to have deep conversations with one another, we decided to create an application called Affinity, which was developed using Flutter [8]. In this application, users with various mental health issues will be able to talk with other users who have shared similar experiences. Users can connect to each other based on similar mental health issues, and they can engage in deep conversations with one another through a chat messaging system. We tested the results by providing twelve participants with two surveys. One survey measured a self-given score regarding the participant’s levels of stress and anxiety before using Affinity as well as after one week of using Affinity, and the other survey asks participants to tally the number of conversation partners that shared at least one mental health issue or experience with them compared to the total number of conversation partners. The results we have found are that daily usage of this application will generally reduce levels of stress and anxiety, and the majority of the individuals that the application will offer as conversation partners will be able to connect to a user through at least one additional similar shared experience or mental health issue.
