Abstract:
In order to increase the spectrum of machining processes in machining centers, intelligent tools (so-called cyber-physical modules) which need an additional supply of data, energy and media are being used. By the integration of additional transmission elements to the hollow shaft taper interface it is aimed to realize a transmission via the spindle itself. Based on that, a new standard will be established, making it possible to use intelligent tools from all manufacturers in future.

Abstract:
In this study, to address the problems of multiple dimensions, large scales, complex tension resource scheduling, and strict quality control requirements in the tensioning process of cables in prestressed steel structures, the technical characteristics of digital twins (DTs) and artificial intelligence (AI) are analyzed. An intelligent tensioning of prestressed cables method driven by the integration of DTs and AI is proposed. Based on the current research status of cable tensioning and DTs, combined with the goal of intelligent tensioning, a fusion mechanism for DTs and AI is established and their integration to drive intelligent tensioning of prestressed cables technology is analyzed. In addition, the key issues involved in the construction of an intelligent control center driven by the integration of DTs and AI are discussed. By considering the construction elements of space and time dimensions, the tensioning process is controlled at multiple levels, thereby realizing the intelligent tensioning of prestressed cables. Driven by intelligent tensioning methods, the safety performance evaluation of the intelligent tensioning process is analyzed. Combined with sensing equipment and intelligent algorithms, a high-fidelity twin model and three-dimensional integrated data model are constructed to realize closed-loop control of the intelligent tensioning safety evaluation. Through the study of digital twins and artificial intelligence fusion to drive the intelligent tensioning method for prestressed cables, this study focuses on the analysis of the intelligent evaluation of safety performance. This study provides a reference for fusion applications with DTs and AI in intelligent tensioning of prestressed cables.

Wang, Gang Alan. "Entity Matching for Intelligent Information Integration." Diss., The University of Arizona, 2006. http://hdl.handle.net/10150/195089.

Full text
Abstract:
Due to the rapid development of information technologies, especially the network technologies, business activities have never been as integrated as they are now. Business decision making often requires gathering information from different sources. This dissertation focuses on the problem of entity matching, associating corresponding information elements within or across information systems. It is devoted to providing complete and accurate information for business decision making. Three challenges have been identified that may affect entity matching performance: feature selection for entity representative, matching techniques, and searching strategy. This dissertation first provides a theoretical foundation for entity matching by connecting entity matching to the similarity and categorization theories developed in the field of cognitive science. The theories provide guidance for tackling the three challenges identified. First, based on the feature contrast similarity model, we propose a case-study-based methodology that identifies key features that uniquely identify an entity. Second, we propose a record comparison technique and a multi-layer naïve Bayes model that correspond respectively to the deterministic and the probability response selection models defined in the categorization theory. Experiments show that both techniques are effective in linking deceptive criminal identities. However, the probabilistic matching technique is preferable because it uses a semi-supervised learning method, which requires less human intervention during training. Third, based on the prototype access assumption proposed in the categorization theory, we apply an adaptive detection algorithm to entity matching so that efficiency can be greatly improved by the reduced search space. Experiments show that this technique significantly improves matching efficiency without significant accuracy loss. Based on the above findings we developed the Arizona IDMatcher, an identity matching system based on the multi-layer naïve Bayes model and the adaptive detection method. We compare the proposed system against the IBM Identity Resolution tool, a leading commercial product developed using heuristic decision rules. Experiments do not suggest a clear winner, but provide the pros and cons of each system. The Arizona IDMatcher is able to capture more true matches than IBM Identity Resolution (i.e., high recall). On the other hand, the matches identified by IBM Identity Resolution are mostly true matches (i.e., high precision).

Abstract:
Development and research on Artificial Intelligence have increased during recent years, and the field of medicine is not excluded as a target audience for this top modern technology. Despite new research and tools in favor of medical care, the staff is still under heavy workloads. The goal of this thesis is to analyze and propose the possibility of a chatbot that aims to ease the pressure on the medical staff. To provide a guarantee that patients are being monitored. With Artificial Intelligence, VOIP, Natural Language Processing, and web development, this chatbot can communicate with a patient, which will act as an assistant tool that conducts preparatory work for the medical staff. The system of the chatbot is integrated through a web application where the administrator can initiate call and store clients onto the database. To ascertain that the system operates in real-time, several tests have been carried out to tests concerning the latency between subsystems and the quality of service.

Abstract:
Multimodality requires the integration of heterogeneous transportation data and services to construct a broad view of the transportation network. Many new transportation services (e.g. ridesharing, car-sharing, bike-sharing) are emerging and gaining a lot of popularity since in some cases they provide better trip solutions. However, these services are still isolated from the existing multimodal solutions and are proposed as alternative plans without being really integrated in the suggested plans. The concept of open data is raising and being adopted by many companies where they publish their data sources to the web in order to gain visibility. The goal of this thesis is to use these data to enable multimodality by constructing an extended transportation network that links these new services to existing ones. The challenges we face mainly arise from the integration problem in both transportation services and transportation data

Abstract:
Considering the redundancy and the irrelevancy of current search engines in the World Wide Web (WWW), this thesis explores an alternative web-based method of Internet search and retrieval of information via an Intelligent Agent. The Intelligent Agent retrieves the information back to users and it inserts this information automatically into the users' database. There are three components in this system: (1) Multiple User Dungeon (MUD) as a front end, (2) dynamic database management system, and (3) Intelligent Agent as a back end. The front end is a web site open to all the users of this system. It allows different users to access the system simultaneously from different PCs inside the same Intranet. The DBMS database system is designed using Microsoft Access. It is the reservoir of all the data. It provides information to the front end when the users query the database. Intelligent agent (back-end) is implemented using Visual C++ 6.0. It takes advantage of the technique of Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) to connect to the DBMS. The Intelligent Agent searches the Internet through the search engine of Google and then inserts the records into the database based on the user preference. The Intelligent Agent can also update the database by deleting the obsolete records automatically. In order to test and implement this application system, it is applied two business cases: (1) Fisheries Resource Conservation Council (FRCC) and (2) Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) database system. DBMS and back-end are transparent to users. Users simply need to manipulate the front end interface that links the user to all database review and modification functions, as well as to the search and automatic retrieval options. Results of the implementation of the applications are presented and future research applications for Internet information search and retrieval processes are discussed.

Abstract:
Flying cars—as a new type of vehicle for urban air mobility (UAM)—have become an important development trend for the transborder integration of automotive and aeronautical technologies and industries. This article introduces the 100-year history of flying cars, examines the current research status for UAM air buses and air taxis, and discusses the future development trend of intelligent transportation and air-to-land amphibious vehicles. Unsettled Topics Concerning Flying Cars for Urban Air Mobility identifies the major bottlenecks and impediments confronting the development of flying cars, such as high power density electric propulsion, high lift-to-drag ratio and lightweight body structures, and low-altitude intelligent flight. Furthermore, it proposes three phased goals and visions for the development of flying cars in China, suggesting the development of a flying vehicle technology innovation system that integrates automotive and aeronautic industries.
