Abstract:
Seit der Veröffentlichung des Friedensaufrufes der “Akademiker für den Frieden”-Initiative im Januar 2016 wurde die Wissenschaftsfreiheit in der Türkei einem massiven Angriff ausgesetzt. Obschon die AKP-Ära einen erneuten autoritären Eingriff in die Sphäre der intellektuellen Produktion darstellt, der durch den Aufstieg des neoliberalen Populismus verstärkt wird, ist die staatliche Kontrolle über die Universitäten und die Unterdrückung von Andersdenkenden kaum ein Novum in der Türkei. Das Erbe der zentralistischen Modernisierung und die historische Fehde zwischen der säkularen Intelligentzija und der religiös-konservativen Wählerschaft der AKP fügen nur eine zusätzliche Rachsucht zu der bereits verwurzelten antiintellektualistischen Staatstradition in der Türkei hinzu.

Abstract:
The words fundamentalist (as both a noun and an adjective) and fundamentalism were coined in 1920 within the Northern Baptist Convention when that and other American Protestant denominations were experiencing theological turmoil due to the advance of theological modernism. It is argued in the present article that both terms initially had positive meanings when used by defenders of orthodoxy. However, within weeks of their birth both were criticised by less conservative Christians. Like many other theological terms they underwent semantic change – in this case pejoration and lexical extension. Moreover, by 1923 ‘fundamentalist’ had been extended into political journalism to refer to strict adherents of one ideology or another. The greatest change, however, and one that fixed these neologisms in the public mind in both North America and the United Kingdom, came with the widely published ‘Scopes monkey trial’ of 1925, when the association of ‘fundamentalists’ and ‘fundamentalism’ with anti-intellectualism and obscurantism reached its apogee.Die terme fundamentalis (as ’n selfstandige sowel as byvoeglike naamwoord) en fundamentalisme het binne die Noordelike Baptiste-tradisie ontstaan toe hulle en ander Amerikaanse Protestantse denominasies onrus op teologiese gebied beleef het as gevolg van die opkoms van teologiese modernisme. Die betoog in hierdie artikel is dat albei hierdie terme aanvanklik positiewe betekenis gehad het toe dit deur die beskermers van die ortodoksie gebruik is. Albei terme is egter binne weke na hulle ontstaan deur minder konserwatiewe Christene gekritiseer. Soos vele ander teologiese terme, het hierdie woorde ook semantiese veranderinge ondergaan, in hierdie geval met ongunstige betekenis en leksikale uitbreiding. Boonop is die term fundamentalis teen 1923 ook in die politieke joernalistiek gebruik om na die rigiede navolging van een of ander ideologie te verwys. Die grootste verandering, en een wat hierdie neologismes algemeen in Noord-Amerika sowel as in die Verenigde Koninkryk gevestig het, het egter gekom met die wyd gepubliseerde ‘Scopes monkey trial’ in 1925 toe die assosiasie van fundamentalis en fudamentalisme met anti-intellektualisme en verkramptheid ’n hoogtepunt bereik het.

Abstract:

Hiphop och Rap är en kultur med stark genomslagskraft över hela världen och även bland ungdomar i Sverige.  Syftet med detta examensarbete är att, genom kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer med fem stycken respondenter, undersöka hur ungdomarna som ägnar sig åt Rap i sitt musikskapande kan skildra sin omvärld samt att undersöka hur de beskriver att deras skildringar behandlas i skolan. För att operationalisera syftet valde jag att ha en grupp högstadie- och gymnasieelever som ägnar sig åt Rap som undersökningspersoner. Resultatet visar på att ungdomarna via sitt musikskapande skildrar en ambivalent inställning till det egna bostadsområdet, där interaktioner med polisen, droger och våldsamheter kan vara en del av vardagen. Samtidigt skildras även förorten som en kärleksfull plats där barndomsminnen och de närmaste vännerna även beskrivs. Återkommande teman i respondenternas musikskapande är genomgående livet i förorten.  Vidare visar resultatet att uppfattningen om hur skolan behandlar den värld som skildras genom musiken skiljer sig mellan respondenterna beroende på vilket stadie de studerar vid.  Slutsatserna visar på att olika socialisations processer spelar en stor roll i valen av teman hos respondenterna. Samt att högstadieskolorna på ett mer användbart sätt behandlar den omvärld som respondenterna skildrar i sin musik.


Hip Hop and Rap is a culture with a strong appeal worldwide and also among young people in Sweden. The purpose of this thesis is that, through qualitative research interviews with five respondents, to examine how young people that are engaged in the RAP in its music creation can depict the world around them and to examine how they describe their depictions are treated in school. To meet the purpose of this essay, I chose to have a group of junior high school students and high school students that are engaged in RAP as study subjects. The results show that the respondent through their music creation depicts an ambivalent attitude towards their own neighborhood, where interactions with police, drugs and violence can be a part of everyday life. At the same time also depicted suburbia as a loving place where childhood memories and closest friends are also described. Recurring themes in respondents' music-making is consistently the life in the suburbs. Furthermore, the results show that the perception of how the school treats the world as depicted through the music is different between respondents depending on which stage they are studying at. The findings suggest that different socialization processes play a major role in the choice of themes among respondents. And that secondary schools in a more useful way deals with the outside world as respondents depict in their music.

In dieser Arbeit werden vier zwischen 1712 und 1755 entstandene Kritiken von Leibniz’ Optimismus-Lehre der ‚besten aller möglichen Welten‘, wie diese in der Theodizee (1710) vorgestellt wird, dargestellt und kritisch untersucht. Nach der Meinung etlicher Kommentatoren wurde Leibniz’ philosophischer Optimismus erst nach dem Erdbeben von Lissabon 1755 und Voltaires Angriffen zum Ziel gewichtiger Kritiken seitens Philosophen und Theologen. Gegen dieses geläufige Bild zeigt diese Dissertation, dass jene Kritiken sehr bald nach der Veröffentlichung der Theodizee kamen, und dass zentrale Thesen des Leibniz’schen Optimismus schon in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jh. Gegenstand philosophiegeschichtlich bedeutender Polemiken waren. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Kritik an Leibniz’ Gottesbegriff – der in dieser Arbeit als ‚intellektualistisch‘ bezeichnet wird – eine fundamentale Rolle spielt, und dass ein beträchtlicher Teil des Konflikts zwischen dem Optimismus und dem frühen ‚Gegen-Optimismus‘ durch den Konflikt zwischen Intellektualismus und Voluntarismus erklärt werden kann.
This work describes and examines four critical reviews, all of them written between 1712 and 1755, of Leibniz’s theory of optimism or the system of ‘the best of all possible worlds’, as it is presented in the Theodicy (1710). Several commentators state that the first important criticisms of Leibnizian philosophical optimism by philosophers and theologians came only after the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755 and Voltaire’s subsequent attacks. In opposition to this standard picture, this dissertation shows that criticisms emerged very soon after the publication of Theodicy, and that central theses of Leibniz’s optimism were already the target of significant philosophical criticisms in the first half of the eighteenth century. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the criticism of Leibniz’s concept of God – a concept described here as ‘intellectualist’ – plays a fundamental role, and that a considerable part of the conflict between optimism and early ‘counter-optimism’ can be explained by referring to the conflict between intellectualism and voluntarism.
