Laqua, Daniel. "Transnational intellectual cooperation, the League of Nations, and the problem of order." Journal of Global History 6, no. 2 (June 13, 2011): 223–47. http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/s1740022811000246.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article examines the political and cultural contexts of the International Committee on Intellectual Cooperation and the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation. These two League of Nations bodies were charged with fostering international understanding through the promotion of educational, scientific, and cultural exchange. Whereas previous studies have revealed the institutional and diplomatic processes that shaped these bodies, the present article considers their intellectual genealogies and trajectories. Adopting a transnational perspective, it argues that the multi-layered quest for order is central to understanding intellectual cooperation in the interwar years. This concern was reflected in the role of cultural relations within the post-war order, and in the aim of strengthening intellectuals’ position in the social order (both through legal instruments and through new tools for ‘intellectual labour’).

Abstract:
Key words: Euro-Atlantic integration, intellectual property, objects of intellectualproperty rights, infringement of intellectual property rights, scientific and technical cooperation,military-technical cooperation Some issues concerning the protection of intellectualproperty in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration are considered, in particularthe peculiarities of the protection of intellectual property in the implementation of internationalcooperation of Ukraine and the protection of national interests in theprocess of this cooperation. The legislation of Ukraine regulating activities related tointernational scientific and technical and military-technical cooperation is analysed. The importance of intellectual property protection at all stages of international cooperationof Ukraine and the need to improve the legislation on the regulation of intellectualproperty protection in the process of this cooperation is determined. It is suggested totake a number of measures to address issues related to the protection of intellectualproperty in the process of international cooperation of Ukraine and the protection of nationalinterests regarding the use of intellectual property rights in the process of thiscooperation. The protection of intellectual property in international cooperation should be ensuredprimarily by bilateral agreements on this issue, which should be concluded at thebeginning of cooperation in any field, as well as agreements on the protection of classifiedinformation. These agreements should define the basic principles for concludingagreements (contracts) and be aimed at mutual protection of information, prevention ofinfringement of the rights for the results of intellectual activity when using them in thecourse of cooperation. To deal with this issue, it is necessary to systematically and comprehensively approachthe improvement of legislation on intellectual property in the defence sector, especially on the protection of national interests in the implementation of cooperation inthe process of Euro-Atlantic integration. It is necessary to clearly define in the legislationthe obligations of all subjects to ensure the protection of intellectual property at allstages of cooperation, as well as expanding the list of violations and responsibility fortheir implementation, especially for actions that threaten infringement of intellectualproperty rights measures to ensure the protection of intellectual property rights.

Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the intellectual structure of coopetition through utilizing a citation and co-citation analysis of scholarly articles focusing on coopetition.Design/methodology/approachThe authors conducted bibliometric analyses of citation and co-citation analysis. The units of analysis were original research articles and research notes retrieved from journals indexed by well-known databases. Keywords used in the search were “co-opet, co-opet, coopetition, coopetition, simultaneous cooperation and competition, simultaneously cooperate and compete, coexistence of cooperation and competition, coexistence of cooperation and competition, cooperate and compete simultaneously, coopetitive relationships, coopetitive relationships, coopetitive networks, horizontal alliances, cooperate with competitors, cooperation with competitors, cooperative relationships with competitors, cooperative competition and competitive cooperation.” Regarding the time period for publication of the sample articles, the authors did not place any restrictions.FindingsThe research findings provide evidence that coopetition demonstrates multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary characteristics. Subfields of the coopetition field were identified based on the components of coopetition, which are relation, process and strategy. The component dealing with relationship management and innovation as strategy become prominent. Although coopetition literature has emerged as a relation view of strategy, it is still fragmented and diverse. Additionally, the robust subfields generated from the analysis were super-positioned with low degrees.Originality/valueThis is one of the few studies offering a critical review of coopetition research via quantitative research approach.

Abstract:
This paper studies the behavior of intellectual property pledge loan based on a specific social network and uses the method of experimental research to analyze the impact of factors on the comprehensive trust of intellectual property pledge loan. The results show that if direct cooperation records between enterprises and banks are complete, the larger the scale of cooperation, the higher the trust of intellectual property pledge loans, and the nearer the cooperation record to the present time, the greater the credibility of enterprise cooperation. If there is no direct cooperation record between enterprises and banks, or cooperation record is incomplete, in accordance with the trust evaluation of the recommended members on the intellectual property pledge loan enterprise, the smaller the degree of trust at a certain recommendation node, the lower the credibility of enterprises at this node correspondingly, and the lower the perceived risk tolerance of banks, the lower the cooperation satisfaction in the intellectual property pledge loan enterprises.
