Abstract:
Studiens syfte är att undersöka vilka resonemang som gymnasieelever använder när de löser integraluppgifter efter Lithners (2008) ramverk för matematiska resonemang. Fyra elevers resonemang har undersökts genom en kvalitativ analys av videobservationer där eleverna individuellt löser integraluppgifter. Majoriteten av resonemangen i studien kategoriserades som imitativa och saknade ofta matematisk grund. Matematiska resonemang som kännetecknas av matematisk grund och en rimlig argumentation förekom i mycket begränsad utsträckning. Ett av resonemangen som urskiljdes i analysen kunde inte kategoriseras inom Lithners ramverk för matematiska resonemang. Resonemanget kategoriserades med inspiration av Haegermark Lundins (2011, s.28) definition för Kreativt begränsade resonemang (KBR).

Das neutronenkinetische Programmodul von DYN3D wurde von den russischen Experten genutzt, um den im IPPE verwendeten Thermohydraulikcode um die Funktion der 3D Neutronenkinetik zu erweitern. Zur Modernisierung der bisher bei Störfallanalysen verwendeten makroskopischen Wirkungsquerschnitte wurde mit dem Programmcode WIMS/D4 eine neue Datenbibliothek generiert, welche auch die bereits in WWER-Reaktoren umgesetzten Konzepte zu modifizierten Kernbeladungen (abbrennbare Absorber unterschiedlicher Borkonzentration) berücksichtigen kann. Diese Querschnittdatenbibliothek wurde an DYN3D angeschlossen und in ersten Vergleichsrechnungen auf seine Funktionstüchtigkeit sowie Genauigkeit überprüft. Für das unter Beteiligung von IPPE erstellte integrale Reaktorkonzept ABV-67 wurden sowohl mit DYN3D als auch mit dem gekoppelten Programmkomplex erste ATWS-Analysen durchgeführt. Abstract:
Denna studie är en litteraturöversikt där elevers begrepps- och procedurkunskaper om bestämda integraler samt hur undervisning bör utformas för att elever ska få förutsättningar att utveckla dessa kunskaper undersöks. Resultatet diskuteras i relation till framförallt Hiebert och Lefevres definitioner och beskrivningar om dessa kunskapsformer. Studien visar att elevers begreppskunskap är bristande och att de har svårt att se de relationer som finns mellan begreppet bestämd integral och andra närbesläktade begrepp så som area, summation och analysens huvudsats. Elever kan därför inte ge en meningsfull förklaring av den bestämda integralens innebörd. Däremot kan elever genomföra grundläggande beräkningar och besitter en typ av procedurkunskap där både input och output består av symboler. Elever har däremot svårare att hantera problemlösningsuppgifter där den bestämda integralen inte är utskriven. För att utveckla elevers begreppskunskap bör undervisningen utformas för att de ska kunna utveckla relationer mellan olika informationsenheter, exempelvis genom att olika representationsformer och typer av exempel används. För att elever ska utveckla procedurkunskap bör problemlösningsuppgifter som leder till meningsfullt lärande användas.

Gemit Solutions is a company that develops web based solutions for geographical analysis on pollution. One of the solutions is called EnvoMap, which is a map based tool for analyzing pollution on the water and sewage system. The assignment that this project will be working on is to implement a new functionality to EnvoMap. The idea is that it should be possible for the user to choose an area on the map and get the underlaying data for that area. To solve this an iterative method for development will be used. The result will be a prototype that meets the desired functionality. This assignment also provides the opportunity to study an interesting topic about the usage of geographical data in software development. Methods that will be used for the study is literature study, implementation, documentation and analysis. The given result includes theories, experiences and recommendations from working on the project and will try to answer the thesis question about usage of geographical data in software development.
Gemit Solutions är ett företag som utvecklar webbaserade lösningar för bland annat geografisk analys av föroreningsbelastning. En av lösningarna heter EnvoMap och är ett kartbaserat system för analys av föroreningsbelastning på VA-nätet (vatten och avlopp). Uppgiften det här projekt skall lösa är att Gemit vill ha en ny funktionalitet på EnvoMap. Tanken är att det skall gå att välja ett område på kartan och få ut underliggande data för det området. För att lösa detta kommer en iterativ utvecklings metod att användas. Resultatet av detta är tänkt att ge en prototyp/lösningsförslag som möter de funktionella kraven. Den här uppgiften medför också möjligheten till en intressant frågeställning om användning av geografisk data vid mjukvaruutveckling, som rapporten kommer undersöka. Metoder som litteraturstudie, implementation, dokumentation och analys kommer användas för undersökningen. Resultat som ges av undersökningen innefattar teorier, erfarenheter och rekommendationer från arbetet och kommer att försöka besvara frågeställningen om användning av geografisk data vid mjukvaruutveckling.

Diese Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit einer systematischen Organisation der epistemologischen Dimension des menschlichen Wissens in Bezug auf Perspektiven und Methoden. Insbesondere wird untersucht inwieweit das bekannte Organisationsprinzip der integrativen Ebenen, das eine Hierarchie zunehmender Komplexität und Integration beschreibt, geeignet ist für eine grundlegende Klassifikation von Perspektiven bzw. epistemischen Bezugsrahmen. Die zentrale These dieser Dissertation geht davon aus, dass eine angemessene Analyse solcher epistemischen Kontexte in der Lage sein sollte, unterschiedliche oder gar konfligierende Bezugsrahmen anhand von kontextübergreifenden Standards und Kriterien vergleichen und bewerten zu können. Diese Aufgabe erfordert theoretische und methodologische Grundlagen, welche die Beschränkungen eines radikalen Kontextualismus vermeiden, insbesondere die ihm innewohnende Gefahr einer Fragmentierung des Wissens aufgrund der angeblichen Inkommensurabilität epistemischer Kontexte. Basierend auf Jürgen Habermas‘ Theorie des kommunikativen Handelns und seiner Methodologie des hermeneutischen Rekonstruktionismus, wird argumentiert, dass epistemischer Pluralismus nicht zwangsläufig zu epistemischem Relativismus führen muss und dass eine systematische Organisation der Perspektivenvielfalt von bereits existierenden Modellen zur kognitiven Entwicklung profitieren kann, wie sie etwa in der Psychologie oder den Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften rekonstruiert werden. Der vorgestellte Ansatz versteht sich als ein Beitrag zur multi-perspektivischen Wissensorganisation, der sowohl neue analytische Werkzeuge für kulturvergleichende Betrachtungen von Wissensorganisationssystemen bereitstellt als auch neue Organisationsprinzipien vorstellt für eine Kontexterschließung, die dazu beitragen kann die Ausdrucksstärke bereits vorhandener Dokumentationssprachen zu erhöhen. Zudem enthält der Anhang eine umfangreiche Zusammenstellung von Modellen integrativer Wissensebenen.
This dissertation is concerned with a systematic organization of the epistemological dimension of human knowledge in terms of viewpoints and methods. In particular, it will be explored to what extent the well-known organizing principle of integrative levels that presents a developmental hierarchy of complexity and integration can be applied for a basic classification of viewpoints or epistemic outlooks. The central thesis pursued in this investigation is that an adequate analysis of such epistemic contexts requires tools that allow to compare and evaluate divergent or even conflicting frames of reference according to context-transcending standards and criteria. This task demands a theoretical and methodological foundation that avoids the limitation of radical contextualism and its inherent threat of a fragmentation of knowledge due to the alleged incommensurability of the underlying frames of reference. Based on Jürgen Habermas’s Theory of Communicative Action and his methodology of hermeneutic reconstructionism, it will be argued that epistemic pluralism does not necessarily imply epistemic relativism and that a systematic organization of the multiplicity of perspectives can benefit from already existing models of cognitive development as reconstructed in research fields like psychology, social sciences, and humanities. The proposed cognitive-developmental approach to knowledge organization aims to contribute to a multi-perspective knowledge organization by offering both analytical tools for cross-cultural comparisons of knowledge organization systems (e.g., Seven Epitomes and Dewey Decimal Classification) and organizing principles for context representation that help to improve the expressiveness of existing documentary languages (e.g., Integrative Levels Classification). Additionally, the appendix includes an extensive compilation of conceptions and models of Integrative Levels of Knowing from a broad multidisciplinary field.

Abstract:
In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden elementare, plasma-relevante Ion-Molekül-Reaktionen in der Gasphase mit einer Guided Ion Beam (GIB)-Apparatur untersucht. Es werden Geschwindigkeitsverteilungen und absolute integrale Reaktionsquerschnitte für die Produkte der Reaktionen 40Ar+/36Ar+ + 40Ar und N2+ + CH4/CD4 für Stoßenergien zwischen 0.1 und 3.5 eV angegeben. Die Ergebnisse lassen Rückschlüsse auf die Dynamik der reaktiven Stöße zu. Bei dem resonanten, symmetrischen Ladungstransferprozeß können 40Ar+-Primär- und Produkt-Ionen aufgrund ihrer unterschiedlichen Flugzeit getrennt nachgewiesen werden. Bei der quasi-resonanten, nicht-symmetrischen Reaktion wird ein isotopenselektierter 36Ar+-Ionenstrahl verwendet, um den Nachweis von 40Ar+-Produkten nicht zu beeinträchtigen. Die Geschwindigkeitsverteilungen dieser Produkte zeigen einen zusätzlichen Anteil von Ionen, die im Schwerpunktsystem vorwärts gestreut werden. Alle Ausgangskanäle der Reaktion N2+ + CX4 (X = H, D) wurden experimentell nachgewiesen. Aus den gemessenen integralen Querschnitten ergibt sich CX3+ als das häufigste Produkt mit einem Anteil von über 85%. Protonierte Produkte werden gegenüber deuterierten bevorzugt. Geschwindigkeitsverteilungen zeigen, daß die Produkte sowohl aus dem Zerfall eines langlebigen Zwischenkomplexes als auch durch einen direkten Prozeß gebildet werden. Oberhalb einer Stoßenergie von 0.5 eV überwiegt der direkte Prozeß. Es wird kein Unterschied im Reaktionsmechanismus von protonierten und deuterierten Produkten gleicher Art festgestellt.

Los problemas que estudiamos en esta tesis se encuentran en el área de Análisis Armónico y Teoría de la Medida Geométrica. En particular, consideramos la conexión entre las propiedades analíticas de operadores integrales singulares definidos en $L^2(\mu)$ y asociados con algunos núcleos de Calderón-Zygmund y las propiedades geométricas de la medida $\mu$. Seamos más precisos. Sea $E$ un conjunto de Borel en el plano complejo con la medida lineal de Hausdorff $H^1$ finita y distinta de cero, es decir, $00$ es una pequeña constante absoluta. Es importante que, para algunos de los $t$ que acabamos de mencionar, el llamado método de curvatura comúnmente utilizado para relacionar $L^2$-acotación y rectificabilidad no está disponible, pero todavía es posible establecer la propiedad mencionada. Hasta donde sabemos, es el primer ejemplo de este tipo en el plano complejo. También vale la pena mencionar que ampliamos nuestros resultados a una clase aún más general de núcleos y, además, consideramos problemas análogos para conjuntos $E$ Ahlfors-David-regulares.
The problems that we study in this thesis lie in the area of Harmonic Analysis and Geometric Measure Theory. Namely, we consider the connection between the analytic properties of singular integral operators defined in $L^2(\mu)$ and associated with some Calderón-Zygmund kernels and the geometric properties of the measure $\mu$. Let us be more precise. Let $E$ be a Borel set in the complex plane with non-vanishing and finite linear Hausdorff measure $H^1$, i.e. such that $00$ is a small absolute constant. It is important that for some of the $t$ just mentioned the so called curvature method commonly used to relate $L^2$-boundedness and rectifiability is not available but it is still possible to establish the above-mentioned property. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first example of this type in the plane. It is also worth mentioning that we extend our results to even more general class of kernels and additionally consider analogous problems for Ahlfors-David regular sets $E$.

La formulazione della meccanica quantistica che fa uso dell' integrale funzionale è un approccio intuitivo che ben complementa la formulazione standard. Le applicazioni sono presenti in molti settori, come per esempio in teoria quantistica dei campi, in meccanica statistica e nella fisica dei sistemi condensati. Partendo da una generalizzazione dell' esperimento della doppia fenditura di Young vedremo, dopo aver esplorato le più immediate applicazioni del concetto, l'applicazione a due dei casi più comunemente trattati come primi approcci alla teoria quantistica. Poi esamineremo la connessione esistente tra questo strumento matematico e la topologia. Vedremo come l'integrale funzionale può essere utilizzato per rappresentare la matrice di densità di un sistema, e infine affronteremo come risolvere un problema che emerge nella teoria perturbativa standard tramite l'uso degli istantoni nell'integrale funzionale.

Abstract:
The Feynman path integral is used to describe paraxial, scalar wave propagation in weakly inhomogeneous media of the type encountered in passive integrated-optical communication devices. Most of the devices considered in this work are simple models for graded-index waveguide structures, such as tapered and coupled waveguides of a wide variety of geometries. Tapered and coupled graded-index waveguides are the building blocks of waveguide junctions and tapered couplers, and have been mainly studied in the past through numerical simulations. Closed form expressions for the propagator and the coupling efficiency of symmetrically tapered graded-index waveguide sections are presented in this thesis for the first time. The tapered waveguide geometries considered are the general power-law geometry, the linear, parabolic, inverse-square-law, and exponential tapers. Closed form expressions describing the propagation of a centred Gaussian beam in these tapers have also been derived. The approximate propagator of two parallel, coupled graded-index waveguides has also been derived in closed form. An expression for the beat length of this system of coupled waveguides has also been obtained for the cases of strong and intermediate strength coupling. The propagator of two coupled waveguides with a variable spacing was also obtained in terms of an unknown function specified by a second order differential equation with simple boundary conditions. The technique of path integration is finally used to study wave propagation in a number of dielectric media whose refractive index has a random component. A refractive index model of this type is relevant to dielectric waveguides formed using a process of diffusion, and is thus of interest in the study of integrated optical waveguides. We obtained closed form results for the average propagator and the density of propagation modes for Gaussian random media having either zero or infinite refractive-index-inhomogeneity correlation-length along the direction of wave propagation.

Abstract:
This research focuses on the potential convergence between the 'form' of corporate sustainability (CS), represented by selected South African companies' integrated reports (IRs), and the underlying 'substance' of CS, being the integration of sustainability into companies' strategy and operations. The research also explores the extent to which organisational culture and management systems underpin and operationalise integrated reporting (IR) and CS. The research is approached from two perspectives: firstly, the research investigates the strategies and implementation of IR and CS independent of one another, and aims to reveal contemporary IR and CS practice and challenges; secondly, the research focuses on the potential relationship between IR and CS by seeking to identify any synergies between the IR and CS, and aims to provide insight into whether IR can further a company's CS ambitions, and if so, how this occurs. The research follows a case study research methodology, which is considered suitable for research into new fields given its predisposition to theory building. The cases were selected from those included in Ernst & Young's Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards for 2012 (EY 2012 survey), which reviewed and rated the IRs of the top 100 companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The sample includes a total of six companies selected from the above-mentioned top 100 companies, being two companies from each of three JSE super-sectors. Of the two companies in each super-sector, one company was recognised by the EY 2012 survey as having produced a superior integrated report and the other company had not achieved such recognition. A detailed review of each company's two most recent IRs and sustainability report was undertaken to inform and facilitate meaningful and insightful interviews with appropriate personnel from various departments within each company, including corporate affairs and communication; environmental; strategy and business development; finance; sustainability; human resources; governance, risk and compliance; and corporate social investment. Primarily open-ended questions were posed to allow for the collection of qualitative, company- specific information on companies' IR and CS strategies and implementation. The broad-based adoption of IR in South Africa, in response to the JSE regulation requiring listed companies to produce an integrated report or explain why they have not, has provided a sound platform for revealing the early stages of IR practice. Although CS is not a new corporate discipline, it remains a somewhat contested corporate practice, evident from the broad spectrum of companies' approaches to CS: these range from a basic compliance standpoint to more holistic synergistic strategies aimed at integrating CS into all parts of the business. Given the differing approaches to, and appetites for, IR and CS amongst the researched companies, the findings identify certain dominant themes of contemporary practice, and reveal opportunities for expanding and improving IR and CS. Indications are that management systems play an important role in the implementation of IR and CS strategies. IR, a relatively stand-alone corporate function, shows limited dependence on organisational culture, which is a key determinant for CS given its extensive reach within companies and reliance on employee buy-in for engaging with CS. The findings also uncover other key insights into the multi-faceted relationships between IR, CS, organisational culture and management systems. Finally, although there are some synergies between IR and CS, these represent a more subtle, constrained IR and CS relationship. To conclude, although the findings recognise that IR can stimulate a focus on CS in companies that have yet to seriously engage with CS, succeeding in IR does not appear for the most part to provide an indication of proficient CS capability, reflecting a decoupling of IR practice and success from that for CS.

També proposem alguna aplicació a l’estudi d’EDPs el·líptiques. En primer lloc, es caracteritza la regularitat de les corbes planes de Jordan corda-arc que tenen transformades maximals de Cauchy associades que es poden afitar puntualment per la iteració de segon ordre de la funció maximal de Hardy-Littlewood a la corba, assumint una condició natural de fons de conformitat asimptòtica. En particular, resulta que aquestes corbes no necessàriament tenen tangents a cada punt, però es poden diferenciar gairebé pertot amb derivades en VMO. En el segon capítol estudiem les propietats d’una mesura que determinen si la seva transformada de Cauchy defineix un operador compacte a L ^ 2; determinem que la compacitat es pot caracteritzar per una convergència uniforme a zero de la densitat superior de la mesura. A continuació, investigem un equivalent en el context d’equacions el·líptiques de dos resultats importants i recents importants sobre la transformada de Riesz i la rectificabilitat uniforme. The thesis investigates the relation between the geometric properties of measures in Euclidean spaces and the behavior of certain associated singular integral operators. We also show some application to the study of elliptic PDEs. First, we characterize the regularity of the planar chord-arc Jordan curves whose associated maximal Cauchy transform can be pointwise dominated by the second-order iteration of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function on the curve, assuming a natural background asymptotic conformality condition. In particular, it turns out that this curves do not necessarily have tangents at each point but they are differentiable almost everywhere with derivatives in VMO. The conditions on a measure that determine whether its associated Cauchy transform defines a compact operator on L^2 are studied in the second chapter; we determine that the compactness can be characterized by a uniform convergence to zero of the upper density of the measure. Then, we investigate an equivalent in the context of elliptic equations of two important recent results on Riesz transform and uniform rectifiabilty. Under a Hölder continuity assumption for the matrix defining the uniformly elliptic operator in divergence form we prove, in collaboration with Laura Prat and Xavier Tolsa, that the gradient of the single layer potential associated with a compactly supported n-Alhfors-David regular mesaure in R^(n+1) is bounded on L^2 if and only if the measure is uniformly n-rectifiable. This result extends the important article by F. Nazarov, X. Tolsa and A. Volberg on the solution of the so-called co-dimension 1 David and Semmes’ problem and we apply it to a one-phase problem for the elliptic measure. Under the same hypothesis for the elliptic equation we establish a local rectifiability criterion for Radon measures which are not necessarily regular. The theorem is formulated in terms of a control of the mean oscillation of the gradient of the single layer potential. This generalizes a recent result by D. Girela-Sarriòn and X. Tolsa. This study constitutes an important step to achieve a rectifiability result for a two-phase problem for the elliptic measure.

We introduce renormalized integrals which generalize conventional measure theoretic integrals. One approximates the integration domain by measure spaces and defines the integral as the limit of integrals over the approximating spaces. This concept is implicitly present in many mathematical contexts such as Cauchy's principal value, the determinant of operators on a Hilbert space and the Fourier transform of an L^p function. We use renormalized integrals to define a path integral on manifolds by approximation via geodesic polygons. The main part of the paper is dedicated to the proof of a path integral formula for the heat kernel of any self-adjoint generalized Laplace operator acting on sections of a vector bundle over a compact Riemannian manifold.

Els principals objectes d'estudi d'aquesta memòria són les integrals singulars. Per l'elaboració d'aquesta memòria, trobem una especial motivació en tres articles originats a partir de la idea d'acotar la norma de l'operador maximal d'una integral singular per la norma de la integral singular. En el primer article, de J. Mateu i J. Verdera del 2006, [MV], s'hi proven desigualtats puntuals pels casos particulars de la j-èssima transformada de Riesz i de la transformada de Beurling. Es fa notar per primer cop que les acotacions són diferents degut a la paritat del nucli de les respectives transformades. A posteriori, en els articles de J. Mateu, J. Orobitg i J. Verdera de 2011, [MOV], i en [MOPV] de 2010 dels mateixos autors més C. Pérez, s'han provat acotacions puntuals com les esmentades per transformades de Riesz d'ordre superior. En el primer treball es tracta el cas d'operadors amb el nucli parell i en el segon es fa el mateix pels de nucli senar. Aquí, la desigualtat de Cotlar pren protagonisme, ja que es fa notar que la desigualtat puntual pel cas parell és una millora d'aquesta. En [MOV] es demostra que, per les integrals singulars de Calderón-Zygmund de grau parell i amb nucli prou regular, l'acotació puntual de l'operador maximal pel mateix operador és equivalent a l'acotació en L^2 i al mateix temps a una condició algebraica sobre el nucli de la integral singular. En el cas de les integrals de grau senar, en [MOPV], es veu que succeeix el mateix però en la desigualtat puntual necessitem la segona iterada de l'operador maximal de Hardy-Littlewood. Ja s'havia vist en [MV] que l'acotació sense iteració no funcionava en el cas de la transformada de Riesz. A partir d'aquí, en el treball que ens ocupa, ens hem dedicat a estendre aquestes acotacions. En el primer capítol es resol una pregunta oberta que es planteja a [MOV]. Es demostra que l'acotació en L^p (i en L^p amb pesos) és també equivalent a la desigualtat puntual, no només amb p=2. Aquests resultats estan reflectits en [BMO1]. En el segon capítol es treballa una altra pregunta plantejada al mateix article. Es tracta de veure si es pot relaxar la regularitat del nucli i que segueixi passant el mateix. Quan ens trobem al pla, donem una bona resposta fixant una diferenciabilitat inicial que ha de tenir el nucli. En el cas de que la dimensió és més gran que 2, tenim una resposta parcial, en el sentit de que aquesta regularitat inicial depèn del grau d'un cert polinomi que depèn del nucli. Això podria fer que s'hagués de demanar una diferenciabilitat molt gran. Però, això sí, finita. En el tercer capítol donem un exemple pel qual no tenim acotació de la norma L^1 feble de la funció maximal en termes de la norma L^1 de l'operador. Presentem el cas d'un polinomi harmònic de grau 3 en el pla i expliquem com es pot generalitzar al cas d'operadors de qualsevol grau senar en el pla. Tot i això, degut a la difícil caracterització dels polinomis harmònics en dimensions superiors, ens ha quedat obert el problema a R^n, per n>2. En l'últim capítol considerem el mateix problema d'acotar puntualment l'operador maximal d'una integral singular pel mateix operador, però en aquest cas definim una nova maximal on trunquem amb cubs en lloc de boles. Treballem el cas de la transformada de Beurling i veiem que per poder acotar ho hem de fer utilitzant la segona iterada del maximal de Hardy-Littlewood, i que no ho podem reemplaçar per la primera iteració. The main objects of study of this dissertation are the singular integrals. We find an special motivation in three papers originated from the idea of bounding the norm of maximal operator of a singular integral by the norm of the singular integral itself. In the first one, of J. Mateu and J. Verdera from 2006, [MV], they prove pointwise inequalities for the particular cases of the j-th Riesz transform and the Beurling transform. For the first time, one notice that we obtain different bounds depending on the parity of the kernel of each operator. A posteriori, in the papers of J. Mateu, J. Orobitg and J. Verdera from 2011, [MOV], and in [MOPV] from 2010 from same authors plus C. Pérez, they prove pointwise inequalities as the aforementioned for higher order Riesz transforms. In the first work they treat the case of operators with even kernel, and in the second one, they do the same but for odd kernels. Here is when Cotlar inequality takes shows of, because we can notice that the inequality for the even case is an improvement of this one In [MOV] they prove that, for even Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals with smooth kernel, the pointwise inequality of the maximal operator bounded by the operator itself is equivalent to the L^2 estimate and also to an algebraic condition on the kernel of the singular integral. For the odd operators, in [MOPV], it's proved the same result, but in the pointwise inequality we need the second iteration of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator. It was proved before, in [MV], that one cannot bound without this iteration in the case of the Riesz trasnform. From here on, in this dissertation we have been working on this kind of estimates. In the first chapter we give a positive answer to one open question in [MOV]. We prove that the L^p estimate (and the weighted L^p) is also equivalent to the pointwise inequality, not only with p=2. This results are reflected in [BMO1]. In the second chapter we work on another open question from the same paper. We deal with the same estimates but relaxing the regularity of the kernel. When we are in the plane, we give a good answer, setting an initial differenciability for the kernel. For higher dimensions, with n bigger than 2, we have a partial answer, in the sense that the initial regularity depends on the degree of a polynomial depending on the kernel. This means that we may should ask for a very big differentiability, but a finite one. In the third chapter, we give an example for which we can't bound de weak L^1 norm of the maximal function in terms of the L^1 norm of the operator. We give the case of a harmonic polynomial of degree 3 in the plane and we explain how we can generalize to all polynomials with odd degree in the plane. However, because of the difficult caracterization of the harmonic polynomials en higher dimensions, the problem in R^n, for n>2, is open. In the last chapter, we consider the same problem of pointwise estimating the maximal operator of a singular integral by the same operator, but in this case we define a new maximal where we truncate by cubes instead of balls. We work with the Beurling transform and we prove that we need the second iteration of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, and that we can't replace it for the first iteration. Ces deux notions ont des variantes radiales, variationnelles et non-tangentielles ou on fait la distinction entre les differentes approches dans la definition de la limite. Nous demontrons plusieurs resultats abeliens deduisant l'existence de la limite du quotient d'integrales de poisson de la derivabilite relative. Ces resultats etendent un resultat classique de j. Doob. Dans l'autre direction nous demontrons un theoreme tauberien qui donne la derivabilite relative a partir de la connaissance de la limite du quotient d'integrales de poisson. Mais notre demonstration n'est pas valable que quand la mesure positive de base est homogene. Les cas particuliers des mesures positives et des mesures ayant une densite bmo par rapport a la mesure de lebesgue sont etudies en plus de details. Les resultats pour les integrales de poisson sont etendues a une classe plus generale de convolutions qui contient, outre les integrales de poisson, les integrales de gauss-weierstrass et les transformee de laplace. Ce travail est une extension naturelle des investigations menees par j. Brossard et l. Chevalier et par w. Ramey et d. Ullrich

Ce mémoire de thèse présente mes travaux sur la détermination de la susceptibilité et de la résistance des intégrases (INs) du virus de l'immunodéficience humaine (VIH) aux inhibiteurs de transfert de brins de l'IN (INSTIs) ainsi que le développement de fragments d'anticorps simple-chaîne (sdAbs) ciblant l'IN du VIH. Tout d'abord, car les études antérieures ont suggéré que les variations significatives de l'IN de souche CRF02_AG pourrait avoir des effets consécutifs sur l'interaction entre l'inhibiteur et l'IN, la susceptibilité de l'IN de souche CRF02_AG du VIH-1 aux dernières INSTIs a été déterminée. Accord avec l'étude in silico, nous avons mis en évidence que l'activité de 3'-processing et de transfert de brin des INs de souche B et de souche CRF02_AG sont comparables. La susceptibilité des INs recombinantes de souche CRF02_AG aux INSTIs utilisés (Raltégravir-RAL, Elevitégravir-EVG et L-731, 988) est similaire à celle de l'IN de souche B, malgré les variations naturelles qui se produisent dans les INs de souche CRF02_AG. Le polymorphisme de l'IN de CRF02_AG n'a pas d'effet significatif sur la susceptibilité aux INSTIs. Dans un second temps, la résistance de l'IN du VIH-2 au RAL, l'unique INSTI approuvé, a été confirmée in vitro avec des enzymes mutées portant des mutations de résistance. Les mutations aux positions 155 et 148 jouent un rôle similaire pour les VIH-1 et VIH-2, en rendant l'IN résistante au RAL. La mutation G140S confère peu de résistance, mais compense le défaut catalytique dû à la mutation Q148R. À l'inverse, Y143C seule ne confère pas de résistance au RAL excepté si la mutation E92Q est également présente. De plus, l'introduction de la mutation Y143C dans le mutant résistant N155H baisse le niveau de résistance de l'enzyme contenant la mutation N155H, ce qui pourrait expliquer l'absence de détection de ces deux mutations ensemble dans un seul génome. Enfin, des anti-VIH sdAbs avec nombreuses propriétés intéressantes ont été sélectionnés pour développer des agents antirétroviraux. Après la sélection de sdAb ciblant l'IN du VIH, nous avons obtenu des qui sdAbs qui reconnaissent spécifiquement une vaste gamme d'INs in vitro, y compris le mutant G140S/Q148R résistant aux INSTIs. Néanmoins, l'activité inhibitrice des sdAbs n'a pas été observée. Les sdAbs ciblant l'IN du VIH peuvent être utilisés pour d'autres applications, telles que des réactifs ciblant des nanocapteurs. À l'avenir, en raison des avantages uniques des sdAbs, le développement de sdAbs anti-IN du VIH qui bloquent la réplication du VIH reste attractive pour l'obtenir des inhibiteurs efficaces de l'IN.

Since the time of Cauchy, integration theory has in the main been an attempt to regain the Eden of Newton. In that idyllic time [. . . ] derivatives and integrals were [. . . ] different aspects of the same thing. -Peter Bullen, as quoted in [24] The theory of integration has gone through many changes in the past centuries and, in particular, there has been a tension between the Riemann and the Lebesgue approach to integration. Riemann's definition is often the first integral to be introduced in undergraduate studies, while Lebesgue's integral is more powerful but also more complicated and its methods are often postponed until graduate or advanced undergraduate studies. The integral presented in this paper is due to the work of Ralph Henstock and Jaroslav Kurzweil. By a simple exchange of the criterion for integrability in Riemann's definition a powerful integral with many properties of the Lebesgue integral was found. Further, the generalized Riemann integral expands the class of integrable functions with respect to Lebesgue integrals, while there is a characterization of the Lebesgue integral in terms of absolute integrability. As this definition expands the class of functions beyond absolutely integrable functions, some theorems become more cumbersome to prove in contrast to elegant results in Lebesgue's theory and some important properties in composition are lost. Further, it is not as easily abstracted as the Lebesgue integral. Therefore, the generalized Riemann integral should be thought of as a complement to Lebesgue's definition and not as a replacement.

Under den idylliska perioden [. . . ] var derivator och integraler [. . . ] olika sidor av samma mynt.-Peter Bullen, citerad i [24] Under de senaste århundradena har integrationsteori genomgått många förändringar och framförallt har det funnits en spänning mellan Riemanns och Lebesgues respektive angreppssätt till integration. Riemanns definition är ofta den första integral som möter en student pa grundutbildningen, medan Lebesgues integral är kraftfullare. Eftersom Lebesgues definition är mer komplicerad introduceras den först i forskarutbildnings- eller avancerade grundutbildningskurser. Integralen som framställs i det här examensarbetet utvecklades av Ralph Henstock och Jaroslav Kurzweil. Genom att på ett enkelt sätt ändra kriteriet for integrerbarhet i Riemanns definition finner vi en kraftfull integral med många av Lebesgueintegralens egenskaper. Vidare utvidgar den generaliserade Riemannintegralen klassen av integrerbara funktioner i jämförelse med Lebesgueintegralen, medan vi samtidigt erhåller en karaktärisering av Lebesgueintegralen i termer av absolutintegrerbarhet. Eftersom klassen av generaliserat Riemannintegrerbara funktioner är större än de absolutintegrerbara funktionerna blir vissa satser mer omständiga att bevisa i jämforelse med eleganta resultat i Lebesgues teori. Därtill förloras vissa viktiga egenskaper vid sammansättning av funktioner och även möjligheten till abstraktion försvåras. Integralen ska alltså ses som ett komplement till Lebesgues definition och inte en ersättning.

The shopping mall branch has estimated that the turnover of e-commerce will double within the upcoming ten years (NSCS, 2013). The growth can thus stop for shopping malls and there is a risk that some shopping malls end up being "dead-malls", completely losing their turnover. The thesis starts off with presenting the background for the factors of trade, i.e. e-commerce and shopping malls. This is followed by a presentation of which integration possibilities there are in Sweden today and by examples from the British market. Thereafter follows a section on integration possibilities that shopping malls can use in order to integrate e-commerce instead of regarding it as a threat. This can be done in several ways, e.g. by virtual shopping malls, portals, click and collect, check and reserve, showrooms or a virtual shopping wall. The thesis also considers the question of how one can evaluate integration possibilities efficiently. E-commerce will have an impact on shopping malls and some of these consequences are taken up and discussed. The consequences are amongst others a change in shopping space, rental contracts, tenant mix, the shopping mall visit experience, service, image, multi-channel strategy, lower in-shop prices etc. Then, some of the latest trends are revealed, gathered from a workshop that we organized together with WSP. That workshop was taken part in by some experienced guests within the shopping mall branch, e.g. JLL, Vasakronan, ElinderSten Arkitekter, NCSC and Centrumutveckling. The Thesis is concluded with a vision of how a typical shopping mall will look like in 2025.
Köpcentrumbranschen har uppskattat att näthandelns omsättning kommer att fördubblas inom de tio kommande åren (NCSC,2013). Tillväxten kan då komma att stanna upp för köpcentrumen och det finns en risk för att vissa köpcentrum kommer att bli "dead-malls" och tappa sin omsättning. Arbetet börjar med en litteraturstudie och bakgrundsavsnitt om handelns faktorer samt historia och fakta om e-handeln och köpcentrummet. Detta följs utav en kartläggning av vilka integrationsmöjligheter som finns i Sverige idag och exempel på hur det kan se ut i England. Efter det kommer ett avsnitt om integrationsmöjligheter som köpcentrumen kan använda sig av för att integrera e-handeln till köpcentrumen istället för att se e-handeln som ett hot. Detta kan göras på flera sätt, några utav dessa integrationsmöjligheter är till exempel, ett Virtuellt köpcentrum, en Portal, "Click and Collect", "Check and reserve", ett Showroom och en "Virtual shopping wall". Arbetet behandlar även hur man skulle kunna bedöma integrationsmöjligheternas lönsamhet. E-handeln kommer att påverka köpcentrum och några utav dessa konsekvenser tas upp och kartläggs. Konsekvenserna är bland annat en förändring av butiksytan, hyresavtalen, hyresgästmixen, betydelse av upplevelsen i ett köpcentrum, servicen, imagen, Multi-kanal-strategin och ett lägre pris i butiken mm. Några trendspaningar redovisas ifrån en Workshop som vi anordnade tillsammans med WSP. Denna Work shop gästades av erfarna inom köpcentrumsområdet ifrån Jones Lang Lasalle, Vasakronan, ElinderSten Arkitekter, Nordic Council of Shopping Centers och Centrumutveckling. Arbetet avslutas med en Vision om hur ett typiskt köpcentrum kommer att se ut 2025 och ett kapitel innehållande slutsatser och tips för vidare studier inom området.

In this thesis, the propagation characteristics of the biological optical waveguides, considering the materials as lossy in the optical frequencies, have been analysed. It has been found that the losses present in the biological materials in optical frequencies are not negligible, and the loss values have significant effects on the propagation characteristics of these waveguides. In biological optical waveguides, each waveguide is surrounded by parallel waveguides so that the propagation characteristics would be different from that of single waveguide present in a homogeneous material. In this thesis, the impacts of the presence of the neighbouring waveguides on the propagation characteristics of a waveguide are studied in details. Dispersion characteristics of the waveguides have been investigated, and the effects of the material loss, presence of the neighbouring waveguides and the presence of multi-layer W-fibre like structure on the dispersion characteristics have also been studied. The modal characteristics, the time-domain evolution of the signal and the diffraction characteristics have been integrated to explain some of the still unanswered questions in the visual systems. An attempt has been made to explain the Stiles-Crawford effect of human retina in light of the findings of this thesis. A full-vectorial H-field based finite element method (FEM) is used for the modal solutions, Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) is used to study the time evolution of the signals through the waveguides, and the Diffraction profiles have been obtained by Rayleigh-Sommerfeld(RS) diffraction integral.

The relevance of the topic “Teaching of Differential and Integral Calculation Basics in Lithuanian Schools in 3 – 4 Decades of the XXth Century” is based on the assumption that analysis of teaching of differential and integral calculation in the interwar Lithuania (1918-1940) would actually enable better understanding of advantages and drawbacks of teaching differential and integral calculation in Lithuanian schools nowadays. The final thesis is important for it thoroughly analyses teaching of differential and integral calculation (curricula, textbooks) before the teaching reform in mathematics (in 1918 – 1928) and after the reform (in 1929 – 1940). Abstract:
Der Strahlungstransport stellt eine von drei Arten des Wärmetransports zwischen Gebieten unterschiedlicher Temperatur dar. Eine der einfachsten Formen bildet der Strahlungstransport im Vakuum, ein Vorgang, der im kosmischen Umfeld, beispielsweise bei der Energieübertragung von einem Stern auf seine Planeten, beobachtbar ist. Hierbei ist es hinreichend, sich auf die Betrachtung von Oberflächen zu beschränken. Strahlungstransport kann jedoch auch in semitransparenten Medien, wie biologischem Gewebe oder Glas, beobachtet werden. Das Medium, in dem der Strahlungstransport erfolgt, wirkt sich durch Vorgänge wie Absorption, Emission, Reflexion oder Streuung auf den Strahlungstransport aus. Für die Modellierung des Strahlungstransports in einem solchen Umfeld können verschiedene Modelle, darunter das Strahlenmodell, genutzt werden. Dieses Modell beschreibt den Wärmetransport anhand einer skalaren Größe, die Strahlungsintensität genannt wird. Betrachtet wird die Strahlungsintensität in diesem Modell entlang eines Strahls in eine vorgegebene Richtung. Die mathematische Darstellung des Strahlenmodells des Strahlungstransports in partizipierenden Medien führt auf eine richtungsabhängige Integro-Differentialgleichung. Ist die Richtungsabhängigkeit nicht von Interesse, so kann der Übergang zu einer winkelintegrierten Form erfolgen. Dieser Übergang führt schließlich auf ein System schwach singulärer fredholmscher Integralgleichungen zweiter Art. Dieses charakterisiert nun nicht mehr die erwähnte Strahlungsintensität, sondern beschreibt die sogenannte Einstrahlung sowie den Strahlungsfluss. Das System singulärer Integralgleichungen kann mittels eines Galerkin-Ansatzes numerisch gelöst werden. Geht man von einer hinreichenden Glattheit des Randes aus, kann die Kompaktheit des Operators der Integralgleichungen gezeigt werden. Dies wiederum erlaubt Rückschlüsse auf die Existenz und Eindeutigkeit einer Lösung. Ein Augenmerk bei der Ermittlung der Galerkin-Näherung ist auf die Bestimmung der singulären Integrale der Galerkin-Diskretisierung zu richten. Für die Bestimmung multidimensionaler, singulärer Integrale stellt die Arbeit das Verfahren der hierarchischen Integration vor. Basierend auf einer Zerlegung des Integrationsgebietes, erfolgt die Beschreibung singulärer Integrale durch ein Gleichungssystem, dessen rechte Seite nur von regulären Integralen abhängig ist. Können diese regulären Integrale sowie die Lösung des Gleichungssystems exakt bestimmt werden, so sind auch die singulären Integrale exakt bestimmt. Bei einer numerischen Bestimmung der regulären Integrale ist die Fehlerordnung ausschlaggebend für den Fehler der singulären Integrale. Als Integrationsgebiete werden Hyperwürfel beliebiger Dimension sowie Simplizes bis einschließlich Dimension 3 als Integrationsgebiete betrachtet. Als Voraussetzungen an den Kern des Doppelintegrals sind nur die Eigenschaften der Translationsinvarianz sowie der Homogenität zu richten. Kann ein nicht translationsinvarianter oder nicht homogener Kern eines Integrals in Summanden zerlegt werden, die selbst translationsinvariant und homogen sind, ist auch die Bestimmung solcher Integrale möglich. Darüber hinaus stellt die Arbeit Verbindungen zu dem Begriff des Hadamard partie finie her. Auf diese Weise lässt sich das Verfahren der hierarchischen Integration für beliebige Dimensionen und beliebige Singularitätsordnungen anwenden. Die Strahlungstransportgleichung ist im Allgemeinen mittels eines Galerkin-Ansatzes lösbar, führt jedoch auf eine voll besetzte Systemmatrix. Numerische Beispiele beleuchten daher Methoden der Matrixkompression mittels hierarchischer Matrizen sowie der direkten Erzeugung schwach besetzter Matrizen über regulären Gittern und Gittern mit hängenden Knoten und skizziert Ansätze zur Parallelisierung auf entsprechenden Computersystemen.

A presente dissertação se propôs a indicar caminhos possíveis, aos gestores de municípios de pequeno porte, para integrar educação básica ao desenvolvimento local. A metodologia utilizada foi casos de ensino que permite o pesquisador transformar situações reais da administração pública em narrativas a fim de ampliar o conhecimento de estudantes de gestão fomentando assim a capacidade e criatividade para resolver problemas do setor público. O trabalho apresenta como tema central a capacidade da educação integral em desenvolver o ser humano em todas suas dimensões e assim contribuir para o desenvolvimento do seu território a partir da implantação de um currículo integrado às especificidades locais e cuidadosamente estruturado para este fim. A base teórica está ancorada no legado de Jonh Dewey, filósofo norte-americano, orientador de Anísio Teixeira, mentor intelectual da Escola Nova, defensor da escola enquanto ambiente de prática da vida social. A pesquisa deu-se em dois municípios de realidades distintas, um município baiano de nome fictício Xaperé e outro (real) do estado do Ceará de nome Eusébio. O produto deste trabalho, a Tecnologia de Gestão Social – TGS, é uma publicação que reúne estratégias para implantação e implementação da Educação Integrada ao Desenvolvimento Local – EIDL direcionada aos gestores municipais que desejam impulsionar o desenvolvimento e acreditam que a educação é uma ferramenta de transformação social. This dissertation proposes to indicate possible paths, the managers of small municipalities to integrate basic education to local development. The methodology was teaching cases that allows the researcher to transform real situations of public administration in narratives in order to expand knowledge of management students thus fostering creativity and ability to solve public sector problems. The paper presents as its central theme the ability of comprehensive education to develop the human being in all its dimensions and thus contribute to the development of its territory from the implementation of an integrated local and carefully structured curriculum for this specific purpose. The theoretical basis is rooted in the legacy of John Dewey, American philosopher, advisor Teixeira, mastermind of the New School, defender of the school while the practice of social living environment. The research took place in two cities of different realities, a bahian city of fictitious name Xaperé and other (real) state of Ceará Eusébio name. The product of this work, the Social Management of Technology - TGS, is a publication that brings together strategies for deployment and implementation of the Integrated Education Local Development - EIDL directed to municipal managers who want to boost development and believe that education is a tool for transforming social.

O presente estudo discorre sobre o Programa Escola Integrada, implementado pela Prefeitura Municipal de Belo Horizonte, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Educação. Implantado em 2006 em experiência piloto em sete escolas, é validado no ano seguinte, com o início de sua expansão. O Programa se alicerça nos princípios de inclusão social, educação integral e cidade educadora. Nesse sentido, a educação não se restringe ao espaço escolar e reconhece o potencial educativo das diversas instituições da comunidade e da cidade. O Programa amplia a jornada escolar para nove horas diárias e incorpora novos atores no contexto escolar que compartilham a tarefa de educar. Este estudo pretende analisar a implementação do Programa pelos gestores de duas escolas municipais identificadas como Escola A e Escola B. Adotou-se como metodologia de pesquisa a entrevista semiestruturada, recurso mais indicado para a coleta de dados de cunho qualitativo, o aporte teórico por meio de debates acadêmicos e a análise documental. A pesquisa revelou vários dilemas no contexto de implementação da política que se desdobram em desafios para os gestores escolares. Dentre eles, o de construir um currículo integrado, articulando as atividades do Programa com as atividades planejadas pelos professores, a partir de um consenso construído no Projeto Político Pedagógico das unidades estudadas. Outro desafio é a baixa adesão dos professores e a efetiva compreensão das finalidades do Programa. A análise dos dados coletados em campo e dos referenciais bibliográficos consultados permite, ao final deste trabalho, apresentar uma Proposta de Ação Educacional tendo em vista a melhoria do Programa Escola Integrada na perspectiva de potencializar as ações empreendidas pelos gestores escolares.
This research discusses the Integrated School Program, implemented by the Municipality of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, through its Department of Education in 2006. The Program is based on the guiding principles of social inclusion, integral education and on the concept of an Educative City. Therefore education is not limited to the school environment and recognizes the educational potential of multiple institutions in the community and city. The program extends the school day to nine hours, incorporates to the educational environment new actors who share the task of teaching. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the program by managers from two municipal schools of Belo Horizonte, here named Schools A and B. The adopted research methodology is the semi-structured interview, as the most suitable resource for collecting data for qualitative research, and theoretical foundation by means of academic discussion and documentary analysis. The research reveals dilemmas in the context of the policy implementation and its unfolding challenges to school managers. Among others, the challenge of setting an integrated curriculum that articulates the program activities with those planned by the teachers, based on consensus built in the Political-Pedagogic Project of the schools covered in the study. Another challenge is the low uptake and comprehension of the program by the teachers. The analysis of the field and bibliographical research enable to present, at the end of this paper, an Educational Procedure Proposal, in order to improve the Integrated School Program and optimize the efforts undertaken.

Abstract:
O presente trabalho tem a finalidade de analisar os componentes curriculares no ensino fundamental na condução à Educação Integral. Considerando a oferta de atividades diversificadas e identificando em que medida este currículo compreende as múltiplas dimensões que envolvem a formação humana. O objetivo é identificar como a escola desenvolve Educação Integral envolvendo diversos espaços, tempos e atores educativos, favorecendo a melhoria do ensino e aprendizagem. Para isso, é realizado um percurso pela história da Educação Integral no Brasil, resgatando as propostas para o ensino público, a partir das concepções do educador Anísio Teixeira, percorrendo ainda algumas experiências de escolas de tempo integral que foram implementadas no país a partir da década de 1950. Atualmente, o Brasil passa por um contexto de reformas educacionais, iniciadas com a Conferência Mundial sobre Educação para Todos, realizada na Tailândia, em 1990 que resultou na Declaração Mundial de Educação para Todos. Em seguida, surge a Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional (LDB), (Lei n 9.394/96), no tocante ao Ensino Fundamental, prevê a implementação da educação em tempo integral, destacando a extensão do tempo, ou seja, escolas de tempo integral. Também na perspectiva da ampliação do tempo escolar, o Plano Nacional de Educação (PNE), (Lei n 10.172/01), detalhou a oferta de Educação Integral através do estabelecimento de metas e sobretudo a partir do Plano de Desenvolvimento da Educação (PDE), (Decreto n 6.094/07), que por sua vez instituiu o Programa Mais Educação (Portaria Normativa Interministerial n 17/07). Trata-se, portanto, de uma estratégia do Governo Federal para promover a ampliação do tempo escolar e a organização curricular da Educação Integral. Para a realização deste estudo, a metodologia utilizada consta de dois instrumentos: levantamento bibliográfico, pesquisa de caráter documental e observação da rotina escolar. Por meio desses instrumentos foram analisados aspectos legais e normativos da legislação educacional, documentos oficiais da Secretaria de Estado da Educação do Piauí (SEDUC-PI) e do Ministério da Educação (MEC). O estudo bibliográfico e a análise dos documentos oficiais permitiram concluir que a história da Educação Integral no Brasil sempre foi marcada por um caráter de descontinuidade, em razão da falta de políticas públicas efetivas e também que o discurso oficial dá ênfase a inclusão de diferentes atores educacionais bem como a intenção da ampliação dos espaços e tempo escolar. O que se constitui em possibilidades para novas aprendizagens e para o exercício da cidadania em uma sociedade marcada pela desigualdade.
The goal of the paper is to analyze the curricular components of elementary education in leading to Integrated Education. Considering the offer of diversified activities and identifying to what measure this curriculum includes the multiple dimensions which involve human formation. The goal is to identify how the school develops Integrated Education involving various spaces, times and educational actors, favoring the improvement of teaching and learning. For this a trajectory through the history of Integrated Education in Brazil is carried out, recovering proposals for public education based on concepts of the educator Anísio Teixeira, passing also through some experiences of full time schools that were implemented in the country as of the decade of the 1950s. Currently Brazil is going through a context of educational reforms which began with the World Conference on Education for All, carried out in Thailand, in 1990 which resulted in the World Declaration of Education for All. Shortly afterward, the Law of Guidelines and Bases for National Education (LDB), (Law n. 9.394/96), emerges regarding Elementary Education, which prescribes the implementation of full time education, highlighting the extending of the time period, that is, full time schools. Also in the perspective of increasing school time, the National Education Plan (PNE), (Law n. 10.172/01), detailed the offer of Integrated Education through the establishment of goals and above all based on the Development of Education Plan (PDE) (Decree n. 6.094/07), which, in its turn, instituted the More Education Program (Interministerial Normative Bylaw n. 17/07). Therefore, this is about a strategy of the Federal Government to promote the increase of school time and the curricular organization of Integrated Education. To carry out this study, the methodology used is made up of two instruments: bibliographic survey and documental research and observation of school routine. Through these instruments legal and normative aspects of the educational legislation, official documents of the State Department of Education of Piauí (SEDUC-PI) and of the Ministry of Education (MEC) were analyzed. The bibliographic study and the analysis of the official documents permitted the conclusion that the history of Integrated Education in Brazil was always marked by a characteristic of discontinuity, due to lack of effective public policies and also that the official discourse emphasizes the inclusion of different educational actors as well as the intention of extending the school spaces and time. This constitutes possibilities for new learning and for the exercise of citizenship in a society marked by inequality.
