Abstract:
Editorial note: Pain management is rapidly expanding field of medicine, and it now boasts to have overlapped almost every other medical specialty. A good pain specialist needs to understand the pathogenesis of every single pain condition, which he or she might come across. Only then he might be able to address the route-cause and thus offer comfort to his patients. Apart from medicine and surgery, a pain specialist must have fair knowledge about radio-diagnostics, rehabilitation and physiotherapy, human psychology and psychiatry as well as complimentary medicine. To draw the attention of our emerging pain specialists. the current topic was offered to the renowned Turkish author Özge BAYKAN ÇOPUROĞLU, which she happily accepted. The editorial board acknowledges her contribution with thanks and gratitude.

Abstract:
In 1961, MacRobert in his very popular, useful and interesting research paper obtained a new type of finite integrals and used the integrals to evaluate integral involving E-functions which he had developed and is a generalization of hypergeometric and generalized hypergeometric functions. The main objective of this short research paper is to find an exciting integral associated with a generalized hypergeometric function by using the integrals obtained by MacRobert. The beauty of our results is that they appear on the product of the ratios of gamma functions. It is clear that the integral associated with gamma functions, the results are very useful from the perspective of the point of view of applications. In terms of parameters, one can easily derive the known integrals due to Rathie and the integral given in Mathai and Saxena's book. It is no exaggeration to mention here that, for other integrals, the transformation and summation formulas involve generalized hypergeometric function.

Abstract:
Abstract Italian mathematicians Girolamo Cardano and Raphael Bombelli made the initial dis covery of complex numbers somewhere in the 16th century while attempting to solve a algebra icquestion. The relevance of complex analysis in mathematics, physics, and engineering is incre asing now after hundreds of years of growth, particularly in the areas of algebraic geometry, flu id dynamics, quantum mechanics, and other relatedtopics. This paper discusses three aspects of integration of complex functions, properties and valuation of complex line integral, and Cauchy’s Theorem and its applications. It mainly gives a detailed definition of complex integrals, clarifies the properties of operations such as indefinite integrals and integral paths, and briefly lists several applications of Cauchy’s theorem and proves them. Several theorems are proved from Cauchy’s theorem, Local existence of primitives and Cauchy’s theorem in a disc, and Cauchy’s integral formulas.

Abstract:
This dissertation is based upon interviews with physicians about the advance of lifestyle medicine in Brazil, a holistic contemporary therapeutic that spreads between professionals of health in the whole World. To a specific current of medicine of our days, such actions of the physicians make them socially authorized \"carriers\" (Weber) of changes against unhealthy lifestyles. The mean through which it happens is the medical consultation which uses a methodology more and more valorized in the formation and practice of those professionals. Their effects induce on a renewed conception that presents a hegemonic trend -- health as a consumption good. The challenge of medical practice nowadays is seen as related to the implantation of this kind of medical care which demands a kind of consultation that allow an evaluation of the individual in order to advise him or her to self-care. The development of the so-called \"care of the self\" allows an approximation to the idea of \"promotion of a good health\", a set of programs that end up directed toward the lifestyle, made of advises more individual than collective, but always integral. In this sense, the purpose of the physician is to wake up in the individuals their interest in a \"will to not to die\", in enjoying life, and in living with quality of life.

Abstract:
Dissatisfaction with medical practice is related to the discrepancy between the reality of the practice and the physicians expectations of working like a dedicated priest and like a well-trained scientist. I investigated how the ideals of caring compassionately for the patients and of using all knowledge about disease and cure are presented in modern medicine. In this intent, I read a sample of the Big Five medical journals, from 1990 to 2009. I privileged themes about medical knowledge and care in relation to clinic and not to public health. I began by reading a systematic sample, and then I extended it, studying some points I considered to be special or illustrative. My commentaries are intercalated with citations of articles from the journals, to offer the reader the bases of my impressions. I observed that the discourse on knowledge was given a bigger space, and it is more complex and elaborated than that on care. Beside the impressive advances in medical science, and the optimistic positivism in most papers, the journals show the uncertainties, the contradictions, and the limitations of methods and theories. There is a tension between the faith in science, the efforts to turn medicine into a science, and the logical and methodological difficulties to adequate single medical decisions to the scientific evidence. Medical knowledge appears as a mosaic, permanently reconstructed, and not capable of producing certainties. And the production and divulgation of knowledge are influenced by the beliefs and interests of researchers, supporters and editors. The discourse on care shows consistency; but gains prominence only where knowledge is lacking, as when discussing terminal care. The medical scientists, imprisoned in a labyrinth of guidelines and statistics, do not care about care. But, whenever they get sick, they complain about lack of care. There are also proposals of joining scientific evidence and narratives from patients and doctors in the construction of a knowledge-and-care practice that may be curative for both. But these proposals get no attention, not even from other authors of the same journals.

Santaeugènia, i.

Full text
Abstract:
The gradual aging of the population and the increment of care complexity, make it necessary to develop new health care models. Integrated care programs are emerging as a way of medical attention improvement for such people worldwide. This doctoral thesis considers possible to apply an integrated care model (on the basis of the “British Intermediate Care”), based on integrated care pathways, in order to improve geriatric health care performed in the same geriatric unit of an integrated healthcare organization in Catalonia. It is a quasi-experimental pre-post study with non-synchronous control group, developed between 2006 and 2012, including 2377 patients. The control group was developed between 2006 and 2007 based on the existing usual geriatric healthcare model in Catalonia. After development of an integrated care model and the clinical care pathways, between years 2008-2010 (washout period), the intervention group data were collected (years 2011-2012). The results show that this Integrated care model focused on elderly people has a superior effectiveness compared to the prior model. New model is more effective and more capable in treating patients with higher clinical complexity, achieving significant reduction in hospital length of stay, greater rehabilitation efficiency, better functional profit and a reduction in hospital readmissions without an increment of length of stay or mortality in geriatric rehabilitation units.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: The type of study was clinical randomized controlled trial (RCT). The object of study is the patients with HFMD. There is no limit to gender and race. In the case of clear diagnosis standard, curative effect judgment standard and consistent baseline treatment, the experimental group was treated with pure oral liquid of traditional Chinese medicine(A: Fuganlin oral liquid, B: huangzhihua oral liquid, C: Lanqin oral liquid, D: antiviral oral liquid, E: Huangqin oral liquid, F: Pudilan oral liquid, G: Shuanghuanglian oral liquid.)and the control group was treated with ribavirin or any oral liquid of traditional Chinese medicine. The data were extracted by two researchers independently, cross checked and reviewed according to the pre-determined tables. The data extraction content is (1) Basic information (including the first author, published journal and year, research topic). (2) Relevant information (including number of cases, total number of cases, gender, age, intervention measures, course of treatment of the experimental group and the control group in the literature). (3) Design type and quality evaluation information of the included literature. (4) Outcome measures (effective rate, healing time of oral ulcer, regression time of hand and foot rash, regression time of fever, adverse reactions.). The seven traditional Chinese medicine oral liquids are comparable in clinical practice, but their actual clinical efficacy is lack of evidence-based basis. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to use the network meta-analysis method to integrate the clinical relevant evidence of direct and indirect comparative relationship, to make quantitative comprehensive statistical analysis and sequencing of different oral liquid of traditional Chinese medicine with the same evidence body for the treatment of the disease, and then to explore the advantages and disadvantages of the efficacy and safety of different oral liquid of traditional Chinese medicine to get the best treatment plan, so as to provide reference value and evidence-based medicine evidence for clinical optimization of drug selection. Condition being studied: Hand foot mouth disease (HFMD) is a common infectious disease in pediatrics caused by a variety of enteroviruses. Its clinical manifestations are mainly characterized by persistent fever, hand foot rash, oral herpes, ulcers, etc. Because it is often found in preschool children, its immune system development is not perfect, so it is very vulnerable to infection by pathogens and epidemic diseases, resulting in rapid progress of the disease. A few patients will also have neurogenic pulmonary edema Meningitis, myocarditis and other serious complications even lead to death, so effectively improve the cure rate, shorten the course of disease, prevent the deterioration of the disease as the focus of the study. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has played an important role in the research of antiviral treatment. Many clinical practices have confirmed that oral liquid of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively play the role of antiviral and improve the body's immunity.

Status of perennial tree germplasm resources in India and their utilization in the context of global genome sequencing efforts. World Agroforestry, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.5716/wp20050.pdf.

Abstract:
Tree species are characterized by their perennial growth habit, woody morphology, long juvenile period phase, mostly outcrossing behaviour, highly heterozygosity genetic makeup, and relatively high genetic diversity. The economically important trees have been an integral part of the human life system due to their provision of timber, fruit, fodder, and medicinal and/or health benefits. Despite its widespread application in agriculture, industrial and medicinal values, the molecular aspects of key economic traits of many tree species remain largely unexplored. Over the past two decades, research on forest tree genomics has generally lagged behind that of other agronomic crops. Genomic research on trees is motivated by the need to support genetic improvement programmes mostly for food trees and timber, and develop diagnostic tools to assist in recommendation for optimum conservation, restoration and management of natural populations. Research on long-lived woody perennials is extending our molecular knowledge and understanding of complex life histories and adaptations to the environment, enriching a field that has traditionally drawn its biological inference from a few short-lived herbaceous species. These concerns have fostered research aimed at deciphering the genomic basis of complex traits that are related to the adaptive value of trees. This review summarizes the highlights of tree genomics and offers some priorities for accelerating progress in the next decade.

Abstract:
Aus der Einleitung: Given two ontologies/terminologies collections of terms and their 'meanings' as used in some universe of discourse (UofD), our general task is to integrate them into a single ontology, which captures the meanings of the original terms and their inter-relationships. This problem is motivated by several application scenarios: • First, such ontologies have been and are being developed independently by multiple groups for knowledge-based and other applications. Among others, medicine is an area in which such ontologies already abound [RZStGC, CCHJ94, SCC97]. • Second, a traditional step in database design has been so-called 'view integration': taking the descriptions of the database needs of different parts of an organization (called 'external views'), and coming up with a unified central schema (called the 'logical schema') for the database [BLN86]. Although the database views might be expressed in some low-level formalism, such as the relational data model, one can express the semantics (meta-data) in a more expressive notation, which can be thought of as an ontology. Then the integration of the ontologies can guide the integration of the views. • Finally, databases and semistructured data on the internet provide many examples where there are multiple, existing heterogeneous information sources, for which uniform access is desired. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to relate the contents of the various information sources. The approach of choice has been the development of a single, integrated ontology, starting from separate ontologies capturing the semantics of the heterogeneous sources[Kas97, CDGL+98]. Of course, we could just take the union of the two ontologies, and return the result as the integration. However, except for the case when the ontologies had absolutely nothing to do with each other, this seems inappropriate. Therefore part of our task will to be explore what it means to 'integrate' two ontologies. To help in this, we will in fact assume here that the ontologies are describing exactly the same aspects of the universe of discourse (UofD), leaving for a separate paper the issue of dealing with partially overlapping ontologies.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
