Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to approach the issue of how organizational innovation can be accelerated with the support of leadership structures and the organizational climate, specifically taking into account the top innovative universities of the world, which has not been found in previous empirical studies. Design/methodology/approach A survey, based on a deductive approach, is adopted since the questionnaire for organizational innovation is designed for organizations in order to measure organizational innovation, widely used by experienced employees from senior managers to all kind of employees (Caird et al., 2013) facilitating the European Commission work, whereas for transformational leadership, a Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (Bass and Avolio, 1994) is utilized. A complete online questionnaire was developed for collecting data, and the PLS-SEM statistical technique is used for analysis and results. Findings Top innovative universities of the world mostly have a transformational leadership style directly triggering organizational innovation which is consistent with the previous studies, while transactional leadership is having a positive relationship with organizational culture and innovation, but the results were statistically insignificant. Research limitations/implications Based on this research and other previous studies, it is suggested that universities across the world ought to imply transformational leadership traits and style which have fostered organizational innovation in the top-ranked innovative universities in developed nations, whereas more factors needed to be studied so that comprehensive guidelines should be provided to universities and research institutes where innovation is stagnant and passive. Practical implications The finding has practical implications, suggesting that universities and research institutes should draft and implement guidelines where leaders with certain traits and norms can play a role to nourish an environment where stakeholders think outside the box, with learning and knowledge creation, and proactive contribution beyond responsibilities, obligations, and compulsion. Social implications This study has suggested that less innovative universities should draft and design leadership and cultural enriching plans so that society, organizations, and commercial firms could foster innovation, ultimately benefiting general public and society. Originality/value Very few of the scholars have investigated from the perspective of innovative universities, where knowledge is created and flows into organizations, either governmental or private, and society in general. As a result, this study aims to investigate how leadership has impacted the culture of knowledge creation and innovativeness in the top 100 innovative universities. So, this is among rare studies where universities are suggested to adopt innovation supporting culture and leadership.

Abstract:
Innovation has become a game changer in the competitive and social arenas, capable of boosting and maintaining the highest competitive levels. In this sense, the innovative business culture -a particular intangible asset- is shown as a sufficient condition to develop difficult-to-imitate and sustainable competitive advantages, and a key challenge that companies’ executives have today. In addition, SME are scattered all over the planet and represent a fundamental driver for economic growth and social development, especially in Argentina. The hypothesis of this work –which was corroborated- is that if an adequate innovative business culture is developed, it is feasible to promote an innovative performance improvement. As a result, one of the main findings of this study –a follow on of some previous ones- is that an innovative culture provides identity, generates commitment and facilitates control, stimulating innovative performance and proposing competitive advantages. Specifically, the studied Argentinean SME environment has shown some difficulty in order to exploit novel ideas and promote this kind of culture. It has been verified that the managerial role could be improved as it was limited due to different inhibitors that are pointed out in this work, and that novel avenues should be found to benefit more people of our society. The study is exploratory-descriptive, with a qualitative methodology. It is supported with a bibliographical and an empirical analysis.

Abstract:
Abstract How far have social theorists in Russia engaged with the international academic world since the era dominated by Soviet-style historical materialism? Mainstream theories in sociology and ‘culturology’ use new vocabulary but remain loyal to ideological interpretations of society and culture. A minority of Russian sociologists have translated, adopted and critiqued Western ideas. Works by three such authors are explored and compared. This leads to consideration of the institutional development of the social sciences in post-Soviet Russia and their relative isolation from international trends, especially in the regions. The discussion highlights the limitations of old institutional hierarchies and suggests that there is new demand for internationally-trained social scientists to analyze and interpret the post-Soviet experience in innovative ways.

College culture is the combination of college and culture with rich connotation and extension. There is an internal relation between college culture and development of economic society. A comprehensive understanding of the college’s role in the culture and a clear definitude of the college culture’s function in economic and social construction have a great significance for the establishment of an innovative country and a harmonious socialist society. To promote the cultural construction of Colleges, we must first clear the cultural connotation of college culture, that is, clear what kind of college culture is really needed by society, and then build the long-term mechanism for the construction of college culture.

Abstract:
For many years Australia has been known for its all-white policy, but in recent years the government has undertaken a series of radical measures to improve ‘access' and ‘equity’ of all groups living in Australia — a process which has involved improving the ability of government bodies to understand the intricate relations which arise within a multicultural society so that they can better attend to the different values and needs of the various groups. In this paper, the authors look at an innovative, proactive programme entitled ‘Policing in a multicultural community’ set up by the Western Australian Police Service, the Department of Multicultural Affairs, the Ethnic Communities Council and Edith Cowan University, in coordination with the Northern Suburbs Migrant Resource Centre. The programme is based on the premise that ‘only through understanding people's needs, expectations and fears can compatibility between police and society be achieved’. The findings of this comprehensive evaluation showed that by fostering a sense of partnership it is possible to achieve significant impacts in terms of promoting an understanding of cultural diversity among police officers, and overcoming issues which in the past have prevented ethnic minority groups from accessing police services.

Abstract:
A characteristic feature of the XXI century is the emergence of the digital society phenomenon, which significantly changes all processes in higher education. The implementation of innovations into university activity, creation of its digital culture, and digital environment are the key features of an innovative-active university (IAU) and factors of its development. The paper aims to develop a strategy and innovative-indicative measures for digitalization of IAU activities based on the study of society’s digital maturity. Index, rating, comparative analyzes, and decomposition method were used. It is determined that Ukraine has a significant gap in comparison with the developed countries in terms of digital maturity of society and occupies lower than average positions in international informatization indices. To assess the state of digitalization processes in Ukraine, government measures for the development of digital culture were analyzed, the limitations and triggers of society digitalization are identified. It is proved that the digitalization of education has a dominant impact on the overall level of digital competitiveness. That is, the introduction of information and communication technologies in the IAU activity is an urgent task of its management. The digitalization strategy of S.Kuznets KhNUE in accordance with its educational, scientific and technical, marketing, and international activities was created. The proposed strategy is based on a systemic understanding of digitalization processes, which makes it possible to increase the degree of their controllability. A set of innovative and indicative measures was developed, which constitute the tactical contour of IAU digital process management. Disruption becomes a social phenomenon that occurs in society in the industrial revolution 4.0 era. However, the educational system in Indonesia has yet to reach education 4.0 standards, which causes more complexity in education-related problems in Indonesia. Moreover, the inequality in education quality and standards has become a tough challenge in building educational system in this era of disruption. Here, the culture-based education to face the challenge of the disruption era can be designed by integrating character education and multicultural education to develop four competencies of students in the education 4.0 era: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Furthermore, in the proposed education system, teachers must be able to change the fixed-mindset to growth-mindset as a capital to change the paradigm of education to successfully adapt to the era of digitalization and the internet of thing. This is supported by the characteristics that must be possessed by teachers in this era: creative & innovative, able to conduct multiliteracy pegagogical method, high personal quality, optimal competence, professional, resilient, never give up attitude, honest, discipline, high tolerance, and self confidence. With those characteristics teachers will play a greater role in educating students who are ready to face the disruption era, and making disruption as the future and opportunity to innovate and improve the quality of education.

Despite the numerous pieces of research that have been undertaken to aid understanding of the innovative activities of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), only a few have dealt with the interaction between innovation activity and the finance-related attitudes, literacy, and knowledge (competencies) of these companies. The current research focuses on specific aspects of the innovation activities of SMEs in a post-communist society (Hungary) by taking into consideration elements of both entrepreneurial financial culture and the social-economic environment. Our analysis is based on a national representative survey, 2017. Results show that the presence of a creative financial culture, and the grounding of management decisions correlate with company innovation. We found that subsidies as external financial sources contribute to a larger extent to the innovation activities of SMEs than other external and internal financial resources. Moreover, the study explores the effects of some economic and social competition-related factors.

The article discusses the current problems of the introduction and implementation of digital education in an inclusive university. Analyzed concepts of digitalization, digital culture and digital technologies. Presented results of an empirical study aimed at identifying the impact of the Internet on students of an inclusive university. The study uses diagnostic methods aimed at studying the activity of a person in a virtual social network, as well as methods of mathematical statistics. The diagnostic results indicate that the majority of students are quite dependent on Internet resources, but this does not prevent them from socializing in society, meeting their needs in interests and communication. There is a direct correlation between the level of quality of education received by students with disabilities and the degree of their participation in society. So, the creation of a digital educational environment in the university provides an opportunity to receive high-quality professional education, which is a socially significant factor affecting the innovative development of the country.

Abstract:
Formation of financial institutions in society, development of the financial services market and effective financial relations is impossible without formation of a developed financial and economic culture. Today, such a financial and economic system can be viable, which will take into account the social aspects of society's life, its factors and prerequisites, as well as values that really contribute to the survival, preservation and development of humanity, strengthening its unity, expanding its potential. Taking this into account, formation of a financial and economic culture based on universal principles in the context of new trends in the socio-cultural development of the country is one of the most acute modern problems. Each financial and economic system corresponds to a special basic model of financial and economic culture and values, which is manifested in national specific forms in each country. There are no «good» and « bad» cultures, but there are functional or dysfunctional cultures relative to the financial and economic system. According to the criterion of the essence, financial and economic culture is a type of social culture of society that provides for the needs of multidimensional human activity in specialized types of financial and economic activity. In modern society, there is a tendency to raising the cultural level of production. It finds expression in use of the latest technology and technological processes, advanced methods of labor organization, progressive forms of management and planning, scientific achievements. The direction of this development is determined, on the one hand, by the opportunities contained in the set of conditions that define the boundaries of economic culture, on the other hand, by the degree and ways of realizing these opportunities in the conditions of changes in the innovative economy. In view of this, analysis of patterns of financial and economic culture and creation of mechanisms for influencing them is an important managerial task, no less important than creation of an innovative economy and construction of a rule-of-law state. Based on the study of factors affecting the formation of the financial and economic culture of Russians, the authors developed classification, which includes the factors of the Russian cultural archetype; of the socio-economic context; of vertical and horizontal socialization.

Abstract:
Beyond the Bologna Process key objective of achieving a common structure of the European tertiary educational format is the fundamental issue of the changing content of higher education. The highly specialized curricula of the Industrial Society no longer fully meet the needs of an emerging Knowledge Society that requires citizens with entrepreneurial and inter-cultural capabilities to innovate and respond to change in an increasingly inter-connected world. In this article we propose an innovative approach to undergraduate education called the Novum Trivium, comprised of (i) academic specialization, (ii) innovation and entrepreneurship, and (iii) a language and culture in addition to one’s own, as a new higher-education paradigm for the Knowledge Society. This vision of undergraduate education aims to contribute to the realization of the Bologna Process objective of better integrating education, research and innovation. The Novum Trivium brings together three diverse, yet complementary, educational skill sets, in a modern version of the Tripos degree introduced by Cambridge University in the 17th century as an honours degree in mathematics that eventually became a format that encompassed three closely related disciplines such as politics, philosophy and economics. The Novum Trivium is also inspired by the medieval Trivium of grammar, rhetoric and dialectics (logic), the essential elements of education for all.

The need for science to master the new reality inevitably involves a radical change of philosophical, methodological patterns and mechanisms of cognition. This poses a number of problems that are difficult to solve only on the basis of sound scientific methods. Required is also the use of new cognitive mechanisms, including psychological protection of man and his ability to influence the processing of the incoming information on the merits. Traditional scientific mechanisms are limited in their capabilities and therefore require an intuitive getting into the known and innovative thinking. Abstract:
Entrepreneurship as a style and way of thinking and working has century’s long history in the human society. Thanks to creative and open-minded people in the past and today, the human societies ensured rapid growth and improved the living standards. Innovative ideas triggered higher level of economic development in the world through new technologies, which has led to improving the quality of life. Unfortunately, not all countries in the world enjoy the same social progress, due to many problems in the areas of economic and political domain, access to natural and human resources, demographic issues, low level of education, etc. The history of economics has shown that in the countries with open market economy, the entrepreneurial spirit is developed on the higher level. The entrepreneurial culture provides many opportunities for implementation of more innovative business ideas, new technical solutions, advanced technologies, new working methods and continued life-long education aimed to improve the life of the society. Creative people and their ideas are crucial for the development and cultivation of the entrepreneurial spirit and culture in every country, which is closely connected to the education level gained through the formal and informal education systems, which depend of the country’s economic development. A good education system plays an important role in creating good economic policies in each country, has influence on the economic development, business performance and the progress of the whole human society. Innovation is a unique path to prosperity and well-being. Therefore, the economic scientists recognize entrepreneurship as a dynamic factor of production, in addition to labor, capital and land. The European Union (EU) recognizes and promotes many strategies and polices that focus on teaching entrepreneurship from early ages, starting within primary and secondary education, and continuing at the university levels. Developing new education curriculum in formal and informal education systems is a priority in the government’s policies of the developed countries. The curriculum might include compulsory courses in entrepreneurship, continuous learning, and tailored courses with specific task to teach people how to be creative and innovative, regardless of their cultural differences and traditions. Universities should play an important role in educating young people how to do business to work and succeed in the global market economy. The universities in many developed countries such as the USA, Japan, and Germany, have opened business centers, supported technological incubators and parks, and established specialized agencies that provide help and support to entrepreneurs. All these activities contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial society, where creative people can easily find their place for business and life. Thus, education is one of the key factors of economic development. The knowledge-based economy is a modern economy that makes the goal of many countries of today’s world. The less developed states should strive towards the modern trends in the education processes as well as business and entrepreneurial behavior, which is the critical factor in the development of economic and social welfare. They should make more efforts to support the business environment through progressive and modern education systems that would facilitate the development of entrepreneurial spirit and culture. Additionally, they should follow the new trends in the global economy that lead to social cohesion and better economic prosperity.

Abstract:
During the 1987 Iran/Contra hearings, Senator George J. Mitchell of Maine spoke eloquently about the importance of the rule of law in a culturally pluralistic nation like the United States:Most nations derive from a single tribe or a single race. They practice a single religion. Common racial, ethnic, and religious heritages are the glue of nationhood for many. The United States is different. We have all races, all religions, a limited common heritage. The glue of nationhood for us is the American ideal of individual liberty and equal justice. The rule of law is critical in our society. The law is the great equalizer, because everybody in America is equal before the law.The students we teach live in what is certainly one of the most culturally pluralistic cities, and nations, in the world. They are increasingly part of a society in which this pluralism affects them either as members of cultural minorities, or as members of the so-called dominant culture who interact with many different cultural groups. As a cultural anthropologist and a political scientist teaching in a college with a focus on law and justice, we felt it important to bring to our students a deeper understanding of the possibilities and problems of cultural pluralism in a democratic, constitutional society. While Senator Mitchell's words surely express a fundamental ideal in American society, how closely these words express the reality experienced in American society is a question that had long interested us.

Abstract:
The article examines current aspects of the development of human potential, both in economic and cultural contexts. The author links L. Vygotsky’s conceptualization of social development dynamics with M. Max-Neef’s development model based on the research into producers’ fundamental needs. Such combination has helped to identify a correlation between cultural and physical needs of a person with the dynamics of person’s intellectual potential growth, as well as the former’s key role in alleviation of poverty. With the modern development of innovative economy, there is inevitably a need for a new cultural vision of the market role in accordance with the needs of harmonious development of the individual. This vision should be focused not so much on the increase in additional value, but on the presence of the necessary signs in public life caused by the level of quality of life of the employee. It is revealed that the modern international economic order is the source of human poverty, and at the same time various social problems, and the source of problems related to the individual, given the triad of economy-society-culture. Without the dialectical unity of economic development of society and the development of the employee's personality, the chances of survival of the individual and society become infinitesimal and at the same time there is a tendency to degrade the cultural heritage of mankind. Thinking and rethinking the design of any social development-oriented tool, especially in the community, should be multidimensional in nature and include well-connected control phases. Failure to do so can lead to imbalances and gaps between the scientist's theoretical vision and the contextual reality that is changing. The article shows various aspects of the role of dialectical unity of economic development of society and development of the employee's personality, without which the possibility of survival of a person and society becomes infinitely small and at the same time there is a tendency to degrade the cultural heritage of mankind.

Abstract:
Past research shows that democracy is valued more in affluent societies with challenging climate than in other societies. Building on this finding, the present study examines how the amount of institutional and value support for cultural pluralism in a society is related to its climate and level of innovation performance. Cultural pluralism is defined as the societal condition in which minority groups within a society can maintain their distinctive cultural identities, values, and practices provided that they are consistent with the laws and values of the wider society. Institutions and values that support cultural pluralism include political democracy, tolerance for uncertainty, prioritization of secular-rational values, and openness to foreign cultures. I hypothesize that institutional and value support for cultural pluralism is stronger in societies with more challenging climate and higher innovation performance. I tested this hypothesis using society-level measures of harshness of climatic condition and innovation performance as predictors. The results showed that in societies with demanding climate and high innovation performance, their citizens tend to support democracy, are more tolerant of uncertainty, prioritize secular-rational values, and take more leisure trips outside of their home country. These results illustrate that innovation, through its moderation effect on climate, predicts the amount of institutional and value support for cultural pluralism, highlighting the reciprocal effects of culture and innovation.

Abstract:
Innovative development is a defining characteristic of developed societies. At the moment, innovations remain an issue demanded not only by the economy, but also by the entire society. In recent decades in Ukraine, several conceptual models of innovative development were determined in the normative documents; however, they have not succeeded in achieving their implementation. The purpose of the article is to study the evolution of conceptual models of innovative development in Ukraine, to form their classification according to the criteria of linearity and integration and to develop directions for their improvement. To achieve the goal of the research, the basic principles of the proposed models of innovation development in the relevant normative documents (concepts and strategies) are summarized and a conceptual configuration of innovation development is proposed in order to activate it and introduce new organizational approaches. The author used content, descriptive analytical and graphic research methods. The article describes the features of linear / nonlinear and integrated / non-integrated models and identifies the four main stages of the development of innovation models in Ukraine: (i) till 1999 – the formation of a linear model, (ii) 1999-2009 – interactive, (iii) 2009-2012 –functionally integrated, (iv) 2012-present – system-integrated, networking model. The conceptual scheme of interaction in the innovation process is proposed. It is substantiated that the effectiveness of innovative models can only be realized through appropriate motivation – the awakening of business (or social - in the case of social innovations) interest in innovations, since they are the demanders and recipients of innovations. Such motivation can be formed / raised through the wider and deeper interactions of the participants in the innovation process in the case of non-linear and well-integrated models of innovation development. Implementation of the models should take place through appropriate organizational formats, favourable to and generating regular interactions, as well as viable relationships. Important tools for implementation of advanced innovative models are smart specialization, funding multilateral engagement of NIS’s participants in the joint research projects and development of innovative culture and improvement of managerial approaches.

The topic of the article is relevant as the present-day developments of social and economic changes in our society pose new challenges for pedagogical science in terms of innovative changes based on the international scientific and practical experience of many countries of the world - the USA and also countries of Western and Eastern Europe, representing a new stage of education development complying with the globalization epos, formation of socially oriented economy which requires implementation of radical reforms in education. The purpose of the article is to characterize and theoretically substantiate the features of innovative approaches to creation of contemporary education; to discover pedagogical technologies in the process of achieving the innovative goals of education. The article defines the content of theoretical ideas about education in the knowledge society in the context of appearance of its social reality. The research methodology is built in terms of cultural and historical epistemology, which is based on the analysis of socio-economic attitudes to knowledge and cognition using a comparative review of theoretical developments with the real situation. Changes in politics and social priorities introduced a fundamentally new paradigm of higher education in Ukraine, based on the ideas of the growth of spiritual and intellectual potential of each young person, comprehensive development of one’s personality by introducing a humanistic type of thinking, forming a new mentality, awareness of the multicultural perspectives of the human society development, as well as understanding, recognition and ensuring the culture common to all mankind. The new paradigm of education and upbringing is aimed at transferring from the upbringing of a citizen of a particular country to the upbringing of a citizen of the world, i. e. a person with a sense of responsibility whose education and morality correspond to the complexity of tasks to be solved. This approach means gradual replacement of the causal, deterministic principle of cognition of reality within each discipline with modern methodological approaches.

Abstract:
Based on the analysis of official documents of the European Union, the article considers the lat-est trends in determining the main directions of the EU's activities in the field of cultural policy. It is established that despite the absolute importance and attention to the classical European cultural herit-age, the information age makes significant adjustments to management paradigms that today require innovation even in the most traditional areas. It is shown that the heritage of classical culture today exists and develops as a contradictory unity of traditional and innovative, and the role of the latter is steadily growing, obeying the logic of the development of information society. In the process of achieving these goals, economic benefits be-come inseparable from social benefits, primarily aimed at improving the quality of life. The author argues that the phenomenon of heritage, which is the Foundation of the EU's cultural policy, is still a system-forming one, but the post-industrial society certainly makes adjustments to the approaches that have been established for decades. And today, the European Union's activities in the field of cultural policy are no longer possible outside of digitalization. The latter, on the one hand, appears as a completely Autonomous entity, but in relation to cultural heritage, it undoubtedly acts as a means for preserving and expanding the latter in the context of information realities. The scale of the use of digital processes to optimize the functioning of the European classicist heritage is currently so large that there is every reason to assert that the basic direction of the European Union's cultural policy has been differentiated into heritage as such and its digitalization. The study reveals that in the process of its non-existence in the space of cultural heritage, digital-ization itself has acquired new functions, becoming a kind of intermediary between the presentation of new forms of vision of European classics and modern culture in its innovative and industrial hyposta-ses. Digitalization equalizes and unites heritage and cultural industries on a new level, as well as pro-moting modern creativity and stimulating innovation in this area. The legacy of classical culture today exists and develops as a contradictory unity of traditional and innovative, and the role of the latter is steadily growing, obeying the logic of the development of information society. It is established that if today in the official documents of the European Union heritage and digi-talization are postulated as the main directions of the cultural policy of the Association, then there are good reasons to believe that in the future, initiatives to promote the dynamics of cultural industries and expand innovations in the field of culture will take their proper place in the system of basic manage-ment actions of the EU. In conclusion, the author emphasizes that this will in no way detract from the role and place of traditional European cultural heritage, but will only expand the space of its potential possibilities.

Abstract:
The operation of organizations is very much influenced by their culture. Organizational culture (OC) has been defined as a pattern of basic assumptions that are manifested by the behavior of an organization. Positive OC is considered to be catalytic to performance enhancement. As construction aspires to be an efficient industry, this study aims to contribute in this regard by examining the relationship between organizational culture and the performance of construction organizations. Artifacts corresponding to OC identifiers and Performance indicators are short-listed from a literature review. These artifacts are arranged into constructs. The eight OC constructs are: Goal Clarity, Coordination and Integration, Conflict Resolution, Employee Participation, Innovation Orientation, Performance Emphasis, Reward Orientation and Team orientation. The performance indicator constructs are; Financial, Internal Business Process, Custom and Innovation & Learning. The artifacts were elaborated and operationalized for data collection. The constructs, as well as the OC-Performance relationship framework, were then analyzed and tested using Structural Equation Modeling. Innovation was found to be the most critical OC as far as performance of construction organizations is concerned. In today's knowledge based society, innovative organizations have proved to be the performers. This timely finding highlights the need for a culture that fosters creativity and supports innovation.

Abstract:
The problem of communication is considered as a phenomenon existing in the context of the interrelationship between the similarities and differences. The differences are connected with legitimation of interest in the subject of communication practices within the socio-cultural society (the similarities). It is revealed that the communication society culture exists as a unity of closely interrelated aspects — subjective and personal. The need for approval of the communicative model of personality as a multicultural entity creates prerequisites for radical changes in life strategy, the key points that make up the skills to be included in the growing complexity of communication networks, including the ability to create a new system of relationships (self-organization). All this does not only make the differences in culture explicit, but also stimulates the next stage of the socio-cultural development. It is concluded that the position of the subject, which has new communicative consciousness, may be changed. The basis for the mechanism of personal comprehension of the world is an innovative activity of the multicultural subject.

The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to empower traditional villages by combining traditional village programs with innovative local government programs, by making innovations and creations, both in the fields of creativity, taste, and initiative, by involving the participation of the community so that people's love for culture grows. There have been changes in the social, cultural, and economic fields of society, lifestyles, and economic systems that continue to develop following the flow of globalization. Modernization causes changes in various fields of values, attitudes, and similarities to the realities faced by traditional villages, objects that were previously converted into something that has an exchange value, innovation and commercialization are carried out for tourism connoisseurs, social changes that always change society from one level to another other level, by innovating and creating.

The importance of innovation is widely considered to be of peak importance for today´s enterprises. However, the understanding of one key element leading towards innovation seems to be neglected in scientific research: The innovative work behavior of individuals. Since Scott and Bruce investigated the determinants and introduced a path model of individual innovative work behavior twenty years ago (Scott and Bruce, 1994) much time has passed. New and upcoming trends in management, society and culture therefor could not be considered but influence the concept. This conceptual literature review therefor identifies, evaluates, aggregates and classifies the developments and trends from 2020 and 2021 regarding innovative work behavior. This study analyzed 41 journal articles, which further cited 3,609 publications as references, in EBSCO and Elsevier. The focus of the literature review was studies published in 2020 and 2021 and analyses that covered the topic of individual innovative behavior. The defined research objectives were framed by setting conceptual boundaries. Data was collected by using inclusion/exclusion criteria to then validate and manually review the research results. The results of this review suggest that firstly there is a change visible of the definition of the term itself, which has also influenced the scales being used to be reviewed or shifting. In addition the review shows how changes in working and managing enterprises effect innovative work behavior. They can be grouped into the three areas: role and impact of culture, societal trends and new management trends. Thus the effects of mindfulness, transformational leadership, usage of social media, or corporate social responsibility on innovative work behavior are better understood. This conceptual literature research connects and aggregates the various tendencies and supports new measurement models introduced which might help to identify possible causes of these discrepancies and provide direction for further research. Thereby this conceptual literature review thus sheds light on what otherwise seems to be a familiar concept.

Abstract:
The article touches upon the issues of several problems. Firstly, we attempt to determine the methodology of a sociological analysis of culture which is adequate for modern realities. Secondly, we will apply this methodological basis to the cultural specifics of modern Russian students in a transitive, transitional society. It is stressed that the formation of a global innovative society results in a permanent crisis with the destruction of the old sociocultural forms and the emergence of new ones, with the result that culture becomes not a “guardian of the foundations”, but an active “fermenting” power of society. In these nonlinear processes, a special importance is acquired by subjective culture. Based on F. Tenbrook’s ideas, an analysis of monostylism and polystylism of a student’s representative culture is carried out. It is noted that these processes of representation are contradictory and hybrid. Highly-valued by student youth, the values of independence, individuality, and freedom of the post-materialistic plan are represented primarily in the sphere of leisure and free-time activities. The presented typology of students’ lifestyles in the field of educational activity (“professionals”, “ritualists”, “public men”, and “conformists”) fixes a predominantly adaptive strategy of behavior based on the adoption of a paternalistic attitude on the part of the administration and the teaching staff of universities. The article is based on the materials of the authors’ interregional sociological research, conducted in the Southern Federal District in 2006, 2011, and 2016.

Raj A. Arokiasamy, Anantha, Khanh-Linh Nguyen, and Hoa Thi Nhu Nguyen. "The Impact of Knowledge Management on Firm Innovativeness via Mediating Role of Innovative Culture – The Case of MNEs in Malaysia." Interdisciplinary Journal of Information, Knowledge, and Management 16 (2021): 435–57. http://dx.doi.org/10.28945/4873.

Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: This paper aimed to examine the impact of knowledge management on firm innovativeness of multinational enterprises (MNEs) via the mediating role of innovative culture in Malaysia. Background: Inadequate management practices and growing competition among MNEs operating in developing nations, notably in Malaysia, have hindered their organizational success. Although several studies have shown that knowledge management has a substantial impact on MNEs’ success, it is not apparent if innovation at the company level has a direct impact on their performance. Thus, there is no definitive evidence between knowledge management with business innovativeness and organizational success. Methodology: This study adopted a quantitative approach based on a cross-sectional survey and descriptive design to gather the data in a specific period. A convenient sampling approach was used to select 296 respondents from Malaysia-dependent MNEs of different industries. One of the advantages of this study methodology is that the sample targeted many fields. Afterward, SPSS AMOS 24.0 software package analysis was performed to test the hypotheses. Contribution: The study contributes to knowledge management and firm innovativeness literature through advancing innovative culture as a mediating factor that accounts for the link between these two constructs, especially from an emerging economy perspective. The research findings also offer managerial implications for organizations in their quest to improve firm innovativeness. Findings: The results support that innovative culture significantly affects MNEs’ performance. Innovative culture enhances the capability of MNEs to be innovative that finally leads to the superior performance of firm innovativeness. Recommendations for Practitioners: According to this research, companies that exhibit an innovative culture, the acquisition of new information, the conversion of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge, the application of knowledge, and the safeguarding of knowledge, all have a positive effect on their innovativeness. This means that for organizations to run an innovative MNE in Malaysia, a creative culture must be fostered since the current study has shown how it is seen as a catalyst that facilitates learning, transformation, and implementation of relevant knowledge. Recommendation for Researchers: Future studies should be carried out in other sectors aside from the manufacturing sector using the same scales used to measure knowledge management. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of knowledge management and firm innovativeness using innovative culture as a mediator should be researched in other developing economies. Impact on Society: While the main aim of this study was to better understand how and why MNEs operate the way they do, it had an indirect impact on the business and political tactics taken by CEOs and managers working in MNEs in developing countries, as this research has shown. Future Research: Future research should employ the methodology presented in this study and pursue this in other sectors, such as emerging and developed nations’ major businesses, to validate the results and further generalize the conclusions. Other methods should also be incorporated to investigate the other dimensions of MNEs’ performance, including market orientation, technology orientation, and entrepreneurial orientation.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Category of mentality has additional heuristic capabilities as compared to traditional categories of the mental life. Firstly, it serves as an integral characteristic of the uniqueness of the man’s mental world, and secondly, gives an understanding of the specific type of perception of the world by the subject, thirdly, it explains the distinct way of subject’s activity – his behavior, communication, performance. Because the mentality determines the mode of activity of a social group or an individual; the human activity orientation and it’s specificity, so the mentality can be interpreted as a core for the group and personal culture, also as a strategic cultural program of the subject. One of the basic clashes of society has the form of a contradiction between the mentality, containing new cultural forms, and the social relations. In the course of the individual cultural creativity development as a response to the multiple challenges of history, new mental characteristics are generated in the mentality of the intellectual elite representatives. They represent innovative programs of human being activity – performance, behavior, communication. The new mental characteristics spread in society and become components of group mentalities. This accrued contradiction between the mass mentality and the old social relations generates a constructive tension; negotiation the tension through the reproductive activity of subjects can establish the more progressive social relations. Old elements of mentality, in turn, inherent social inertia and conservatism. They can obstruct the new social relations establishment. Therefore, mentality has the contradictory nature, embodying the dual opposition of tradition and innovation. In the same time mentality is a social progress stimulating factor, and a factor that holds back excessively large and excessively rapid social changes. There is a difference between the mentality of the creators of innovative cultural meanings and the mentality of the masses. In the mentality of the creators that make up the intelligent elite of the society, the innovational component is more intense than the traditional. In the mentality of the masses is vice versa - the traditional component dominates over the innovational. There are many driving motives of the society development: changes in a way of material production, in the culture in general and in education in particular, in engineering, in science. But the most significant force, apparently, displays the changes in mentality that generate new forms of reproductive activity of the subject in the economic, political, social and mental spheres.
