Abstract:
Conventionally, information quality or IQ used in most researches and also in practice as dimensions of characteristics which inherent in valuable information. IQ is characteristic measures based on information production processes. As a result, it may not be a valuable for its users and even for enterprise value. Our approach is to define a new information characteristic based on process of information consumption or usage, called IU as complement to IQ. The characteristics in IU consists of two dimensions ie: (i) conformity on repackaging and (ii) originality on exchange information for users. Parameters for this dimensions acquired using features extraction from IU process in each layer of enterprise management. The paper also describes how to apply the new characteristics practically to provide a higher information values for enterprise.

Abstract:
To identify series of residential burglaries, detecting linked crimes performed by the same constellations of criminals is necessary. Comparison of crime reports today is difficult as crime reports traditionally have been written as unstructured text and often lack a common information-basis. Based on a novel process for collecting structured crime scene information, the present study investigates the use of clustering algorithms to group similar crime reports based on combined crime characteristics from the structured form. Clustering quality is measured using Connectivity and Silhouette index (SI), stability using Jaccard index, and accuracy is measured using Rand index (RI) and a Series Rand index (SRI). The performance of clustering using combined characteristics was compared with spatial characteristic. The results suggest that the combined characteristics perform better or similar to the spatial characteristic. In terms of practical significance, the presented clustering approach is capable of clustering cases using a broader decision basis.

Abstract:
Statistical characteristics of deep network representations, such as sparsity and correlation, are known to be relevant to the performance and interpretability of deep learning. When a statistical characteristic is desired, often an adequate regularizer can be designed and applied during the training phase. Typically, such a regularizer aims to manipulate a statistical characteristic over all classes together. For classification tasks, however, it might be advantageous to enforce the desired characteristic per class such that different classes can be better distinguished. Motivated by the idea, we design two class-wise regularizers that explicitly utilize class information: class-wise Covariance Regularizer (cw-CR) and classwise Variance Regularizer (cw-VR). cw-CR targets to reduce the covariance of representations calculated from the same class samples for encouraging feature independence. cw-VR is similar, but variance instead of covariance is targeted to improve feature compactness. For the sake of completeness, their counterparts without using class information, Covariance Regularizer (CR) and Variance Regularizer (VR), are considered together. The four regularizers are conceptually simple and computationally very efficient, and the visualization shows that the regularizers indeed perform distinct representation shaping. In terms of classification performance, significant improvements over the baseline and L1/L2 weight regularization methods were found for 21 out of 22 tasks over popular benchmark datasets. In particular, cw-VR achieved the best performance for 13 tasks including ResNet-32/110.

Abstract:
This study proposes a symmetrized dot pattern (SDP) characteristic information fusion-based convolutional neural network (CNN) fault diagnosis method to resolve issues of high complexity, nonlinearity, and instability in original rotor vibration signals. The method was used to conduct information fusion of real modal components of vibration signals and SDP image identification using CNN in order to achieve vibration fault diagnosis. Compared with other graphic processing methods, the proposed method more fully expressed the characteristics of different vibration signals and thus presented variations between different vibration states in a simpler and more intuitive way. The proposed method was experimentally investigated using simulation signals and rotor test-rig signals, and its validity and advancements were demonstrated using experimental analysis. By using CNN through deep learning to adaptively extract SDP characteristic information, vibration fault identification was ultimately realized.

Abstract:
AbstractSpeaker recognition is the process of automatically recognizing who is speaking on the basis of speaker specific characteristics included in the speech signal. These speaker specific characteristics are called features. Over the past decades, extensive research has been carried out on various possible speech signal features obtained from signal in time or frequency domain. The objective of this paper is to introduce two-dimensional information entropy as a new text-independent speaker recognition feature. Computations are performed in time domain with real numbers exclusively. Experimental results show that the two-dimensional information entropy is a speaker specific characteristic, useful for speaker recognition.

Abstract:
The friction torque of rolling bearings belongs to an information poor system with unknown probability distributions and trends. This counteracts dynamical assessment for the characteristics of the rolling bearing friction torque as a time series. For this reason, the chaos theory is employed to recover the original dynamic characteristics of a friction torque time series by means of the phase space reconstruction theory. The dynamical Bayesian probability density function of the characteristic parameters of the friction torque is constructed by the information poor theory based on the phase space. The method for point estimation, interval estimation, and trend estimation of the characteristic parameters is proposed in this paper. The investigation shows that the error between the calculated result and the experimental result is very small.

Abstract:
Background Citizen monitoring programs using acoustic data have been useful for detecting population and community patterns. However, they have rarely been used to study broad scale patterns of species traits. We assessed the potential of acoustic data to detect broad scale patterns in body size. We compared geographical patterns in body size with acoustic signals in the bat species Pipistrellus pipistrellus. Given the correlation between body size and acoustic characteristics, we expected to see similar results when analyzing the relationships of body size and acoustic signals with climatic variables. Methods We assessed body size using forearm length measurements of 1,359 bats, captured by mist nets in France. For acoustic analyses, we used an extensive dataset collected through the French citizen bat survey. We isolated each bat echolocation call (n = 4,783) and performed automatic measures of signals, including the frequency of the flattest part of the calls (characteristic frequency). We then examined the relationship between forearm length, characteristic frequencies, and two components resulting from principal component analysis for geographic (latitude, longitude) and climatic variables. Results Forearm length was positively correlated with higher precipitation, lower seasonality, and lower temperatures. Lower characteristic frequencies (i.e., larger body size) were mostly related to lower temperatures and northern latitudes. While conducted on different datasets, the two analyses provided congruent results. Discussion Acoustic data from citizen science programs can thus be useful for the detection of large-scale patterns in body size. This first analysis offers a new perspective for the use of large acoustic databases to explore biological patterns and to address both theoretical and applied questions.

Abstract:
In the course of recommending locations for establishing new facilities on urban planning or commercial programming, the location prediction offers the optimal candidates, which maximizes the number of served customers or minimize customer inconvenience, therefore brings the maximum profits. In most existing studies, only the spatial-temporal features are recognized to evaluate the location popularity, where social relationships of customers, which are significant factors for popularity assessing, have been ignored. Additionally, current researches also fail to take capacities and categories of the facilities into consideration. To overcome the drawbacks, we introduce a novel model of Multi-characteristic Information based Top-k Location Prediction (MITLP), it captures the spatio-temporal behaviors of customers based on historical trajectories, exploits the social relevancy from their friend relationships, as well as examines the category competitiveness of specific facilities thoroughly. Subsequently, by drawing on the feature evaluation and popularity quantization, MITLP will be implemented within a hybrid B-tree-liked recommending framework, Constrained Location and Social-Trajectory Clustered forest (CLSTC-forest), which can not only produce better performance in practice but also address the facility service constraints. Finally, extensive experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate the higher efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed model.

In order to diagnose the health status of aircraft effectively, a health diagnosis method based on D-S evidence theory is proposed. Firstly, this method apperceives the healthy information of a real aircraft stabilizer with real time by using AE(Acoustic Emission, AE) detecting system. Secondly, use the wavelet transform to extract feature of the AE signal, including three characteristics of maximum value (MA), singular value (SVD), standard deviation (STD) to set up characteristic vector, then using GRNN and BP neural network to classify the characteristic vector. Finally, D-S evidence theory is used for decision reasoning. Therefore, The Health State of aircraft can be diagnosed. Abstract:
The goal of inductive classification approaches is to infer the correct mapping from test set to labels, while the goal of transductive inference is to predict the correct labels for the given unlabeled data. Hence, the increased unlabeled samples can’t be classified by transductive classification. In this paper, we focus on studying the inductive classification problems in heterogeneous networks, which involve multiple types of objects interconnected by multiple types of links. Moreover, the objects and the links are gradually increasing over time. To accommodate characteristics of heterogeneous networks, a meta-path-based heterogeneous inductive classification (Hic) was proposed. First, the different sub-networks were constructed according to the selected meta-path. Second, the characteristic paths of each sub-network were extracted via the specified minimum support, and were assigned appropriate weights. Then, Hic model based on characteristic path was built. Finally, the Hic scores of each classification label for each test sample was calculated via links between test samples and sub-networks. Experiments on the DBLP showed that the proposed method significantly improves the accuracy and stability over the existing state-of-the-art methods for classification in dynamic heterogeneous network.

In the review of research on financial information from 1980 to 2016, Pham (2016) found that characteristics of useful financial information are relatively diverse with as many as 15 attributes being identified. In addition, he also found that all research in any period has employed the characteristics published by professional associations such as American Institute of Accountants, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB as theoretical basis. Research on the quality of financial information is diverse yet have many things in common, above all is the Relevance characteristic which considered to be the basic qualitative component of the quality of financial information in financial statements. Conceptual Framework officially issued by FASB & IASB in 2010 (FASB & IASB 2010) has further confirmed Relevance is the basic quality component of financial information. Compared with previous announcements, there has been a considerable change in the criteria and attributes used to evaluate the appropriateness of Relevance characteristic of financial information in financial statements. This study aims at confirming the importance of the Relevance component in evaluating the quality of financial information, clarifyingg the characteristics of Relevance measurement before and after Conceptual Framework 2010 and constructing relevant scales as well as measuring the qualitative characteristic of Relevance among enterprises in Vietnam.

Abstract:
In recent years, returning farms are attracting attention as a new way of life from urbanites who are about to retire. Returning farming means that the population living in the city leaves the city and continues a new form of life in rural areas. In other words, the fever of returning farming and returning villages is increasing, and the present is called the era of returning farming. As interest in returning farms increases, it is essential to provide accurate information for a successful return to farming life. Therefore, in this paper, a set of returned farmers database was constructed to provide information related to returning farmers with improved reliability and accuracy. To this end, personal characteristic information of returnees and local environmental information were linked. In addition, a set of databases for returning farmers was constructed using population movement statistics and agricultural management database. In this paper, data necessary for service development were selected and collected. In addition, a total of three types of service scenarios were created according to the type of use of returnees, and information on customized policy projects for returnees were constructed. Finally, an exploratory analysis of the collected data was conducted. In other words, refinement work was carried out to build the utilized database set, and the database set was constructed according to the purpose of use. As a result, the agricultural support information and the agricultural management body database were used based on the basic characteristic information of the returnees to provide selective customized information and establish a database set to improve reliability. Through this, it is possible to provide a customized service for anyone interested in returning to farming to easily access the farming information database set and obtain related information.

Abstract:
In order to adapt to the actual scene of a stereo satellite observing the same area sequentially and improve the accuracy of the target-oriented 3D reconstruction, this paper proposed a building DSM fusion update method based on adaptive splines and target characteristic guidance. This method analyzed the target characteristics of surface building targets to explore their intrinsic geometric structure information, established a nonlinear fusion method guided by the target characteristics to achieve the effective fusion of multiple DSMs on the basis of maintaining the target structural characteristics, and supported the online updating of DSM to ensure the needs of practical engineering applications. This paper presented a DSM fusion method for surface building targets and finally conducted DSM fusion experiments using typical urban area images of different scenes. The experimental results showed that the proposed method can effectively constrain and improve the DSM of buildings, and the integrity of the overall construction of the target 3D model structure was significantly improved, indicating that this paper provides an effective and efficient DSM constraint method for buildings.

Abstract:
The main purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of situational characteristics on the relationship between communication strategies and information choice strategy of the Arab tourists in Malaysia. The study adopted a cross-sectional design with a quantitative survey approach. Overall, the study finds that situational characteristics significantly mediate the influence of information source on the information choice strategy of the Arab tourists but not on the relationship between information source and information choice. The study therefore concludes among others that situational characteristic can only explain the influence of information channels on the information choice strategy but not on the influence of information source on the information choice strategy.
