Abstract:
AbstractWe test the luxury consumption hypothesis of Ait-Sahalia, Parker, and Yogo (2004), using a unique international art price, import/export flow, and stock market data set. We find that the demand for art by Japanese collectors is positively correlated with art prices and Japanese stock prices. This correlation is magnified during the “bubble period” of the Japanese economy (the mid-1980s to the early 1990s) and gains even further strength for works of art typically favored by Japanese collectors. Our results suggest that Japanese investors (or Japanese asset markets) indeed affect international art prices—especially during the bubble period and its aftermath.

Abstract:
The article considers the problem of the introduction into the educational process of art-therapeutic technologies as a means of psychological and pedagogical adaptation of the individual in the conditions of society globalization. The role of musical art in influencing the emotional and sensual sphere of revealing and development of natural abilities, creative expression of personality is revealed, the expediency of using varieties of music therapy in music-creative activity of younger students is clarified. Music education, vocal therapy, receptive perception of music, rhythm therapy, which contribute to overcoming psychological discomfort in students' educational activities, encourage the creative expression of personality, the child's knowledge of the art world. The education system in Ukraine requires updating and enriching the content of the pedagogical process on the basis of humanization, which will contribute to the full development of the individual, the formation of vital competences for the maximum disclosure of his or her natural inclinations and creative potential. It is in the primary school that the foundations for the formation of the experience of educators (younger students), their needs, which motivate learning, knowledge and skills, which are formed in different educational environment, different social situations and condition the formation of attitude to them, are laid. The state normative document (The Law of Ukraine "On Education") emphasizes the need for students to acquire key competences that enable the development of successful learning, self-expression, self-knowledge, social adaptation and preservation of their physical and mental state. Such development of education in Ukraine makes it necessary to actively introduce into the educational process the innovative technologies and modern pedagogical approaches, among which artpedagogy is a new trend that integrates theoretical knowledge and methodological developments in psychology, art and pedagogy. With the help of music, drawing, fairy tales, theatre teachers can unite the class, identify problems of the child in time, form their life values, motivate them to study. The professional activity of a music art teacher in the context of educational reform and the introduction of inclusive education as a form of providing equal access to quality education for children with special educational needs, presupposes the need to master innovative technologies for the use of musical art as a method of comprehensive and multidimensional stimulation of personality development, child's condition, behavioural abnormalities, and also as a form of art treatment. One of the effective ways of solving the set tasks before the educational industry is the introduction of innovative, art-therapeutic – humanistic-oriented technology in the educational process, which involves the creation of a psychologically-comfortable educational environment by updating the pedagogical potential by means of art education (vocal therapy, art therapy, music therapy, (etc.)

Abstract:
With the rapid development of Chinas economy, contemporary Chinese art has also achieved unprecedented breakthroughs. With the expansion of globalization and as a socialist country with the unique nature of Chinese characteristics, how do the curatorial practices of Chinese contemporary art develop in a complex social environment? This research explores the influence of dominant groups on Chinas art collectors and contemporary art curatorial practice based on the Frankfurt Schools critical theory. Furthermore, the research expands this theory to a broader context of China. The curatorial practices of Chinese contemporary art are deeply controlled by monopoly capital, which influences the aesthetic preferences of the public through the monopoly of popular culture. It borrows the hands of wealthy collectors to manipulate the art market. Political parties set boundaries for artistic creation through strict censorship. On the positive hand, censorship promotes the inheritance of traditional culture. By understanding that there is an invisible hand behind human cultural and artistic activities, to warn that the self-consciousness people believe is usually the result of being influenced by others language and behavior.

Abstract:
The significance of this paper lies in the analysis of medieval religious art in China and Europe, which sheds light on how the intersection of religion and art reflects cultural and societal values. To understand the delicate balance between artistic expression and religious influence, this study delves into the development and evolution of religious art during the medieval period. The comprehensive comparative analysis is conducted using an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural approach that integrates perspectives from art history, history, religious studies, and aesthetics. The findings reveal that while initially, art in both regions was predominantly influenced by religious ideals, it gradually asserted its independence and shifted from a God-centered to a human-centered approach. The results of this study imply that despite its oppressive origins, religious art managed to harness religion as a catalyst for innovation and enrichment, showcasing the resilience and adaptive capacities of art.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore new constructs related to organizations, art and physical environment. Further, an intention was to explain and discuss whether investments in the physical environment in the form of art, design and architecture do have an effect on employees. Design/methodology/approach – To conclude whether aesthetics had an impact on employees in terms of job satisfaction, motivation and their self-perception of their own ability to provide customer service, the authors undertook a quantitative study of 222 employees in seven companies. The authors subsequently commenced five in-depth, semi-structured interviews with four accessible corporate art buyers and one curator to identify the main motivations for purchasing art and placing it in the work place. Findings – With regard to perceptions of art, design and architecture, the physical environment is perceived as a whole and seems to play a significant role in organizational life for employees in companies that have invested in art. The research implies, however, that the companies that invested in art, design and architecture, despite the positive influence on employees’ self-perceived service ability, did not accumulate benefits on service ability relative to employees in companies without art. Practical implications – Managers should cautiously reflect on their motivations for investing in art, design and architecture. Useful motivations might include projecting a desired external image or decoration or expressing connection to a community. Investing in art, design and architecture independent of what the organization is trying to do strategically will create cosmetic solutions that lack any wider purpose. Originality/value – Despite increased corporate interest in aesthetics, little research has been done to determine the effect on employees. The research shortage may be due to the challenge of understanding the meaning of the visible expressions. This paper is a contribution to strengthen the knowledge of the impact of workspace aesthetics on employees (the authors subsequently undertook five in-depth, semi-structured interviews with four accessible corporate art buyers at Storebrand (insurance and banking corporation), Telenor (mobile operator), Hydro (aluminium company), Nordic Choice Hotels and one curator).

Abstract:
We focus on the anthropology of art from the mid-1980s to the present, a period of disturbance and significant transformation in the field of anthropology. The field can be understood to be responding to the destabilization of the category of “art” itself. Inaugural moments lie in the reaction to the Museum of Modern Art's 1984 exhibition “Primitivism” in 20th Century Art, the increasing crisis of representation, the influence of “postmodernism,” and the rising tide of decolonization and globalization, marked by the 1984 Te Maori exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Changes involve boundaries being negotiated, violated, and refigured, and not simply the boundaries between the so-called “West” and “the rest” but also those of “high” and “low,” leading to a re-evaluation of public culture. In this review, we pursue the influence of changing theories of art and engagements with what had been noncanonical art in the mainstream art world, tracing multiple intersections between art and anthropology in the contemporary moment.

Abstract:
Political beings as we are, our work often becomes a looking glass through which the world sees. Try as liberal theory might to separate the public from the private, they exist only as oppositional forces and thus necessarily influence and shape each other. Thus, a person’s politics influences the art he creates. And yet, with the audience, the art begets a life of its own, changing and growing with the audience’s politics. The problem arises when the audience accepts the art but rejects the person – the separation of the artist from his art is a question that has important ramifications across disciplines; be it the bifurcation of judges’ private lives and their actions in Court or the allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of an otherwise prominent and efficient bureaucrat. This paper shall deal with the question of misdemeanours on the part of artists – filmmakers, musicians, authors because of the magnanimous influence they have in shaping the sociopolitical attitude of the people. The question of the separation will always remain important but its relevance in evaluating the art independently become less important as space is permitted for opposing narratives from the marketplace of ideas as facilitated by social media today.

Toma, Marianna Heorhiivna. "«Trading in influence» or «abuse of influence» is a problem of qualification." Herald of the Association of Criminal Law of Ukraine 2, no. 20 (December 19, 2023): 195–209. http://dx.doi.org/10.21564/2311-9640.2023.20.292359.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the legislative tools designed to combat corruption, Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine «Abuse of influence» occupies a special place. On the one hand, this prohibition is actively demanded in practice, on the other hand, its inclusion in the Criminal Code increased the casuistic nature of the latter, partially created an excess of legislative description of criminal behavior related to corruption, and due to non-compliance in this case with the principle of legal certainty, seriously complicated the application of Criminal Law of Ukraine in practice. The criminal offense provided for in Art. 369-2 «Abuse of influence» of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is quite difficult to understand and apply. In addition, there are certain problems with the proper criminal-legal qualification of criminal behavior at the junction of such corruption components of criminal offenses as Art. 369-2 and Art. 368 «Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official», Art. 368-3 «Bribery of an official of a legal entity of private law, regardless of the organizational and legal form», Art. 368-4 «Bribery of a person providing public services» of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The norm of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is the result of the implementation of Article 12 of the Criminal Convention of the Council of Europe on the fight against corruption and Art. 18 of the UN Convention against Corruption. However, this implementation is far from perfect, which always creates problems for law enforcement. The origin of the concept of «abuse of influence» is interesting. Most likely, it is the fruit of creativity of the Ukrainian legislator. After all, the concept of «trading in influence» is used in international acts, which in translation means trading in influence, but not abuse. Thus, the specified composition of the criminal offense was permanently problematic in qualification and, accordingly, in understanding. For a long time, difficulties arose with the application of the note, which has lost its validity, and, accordingly, with the definition of the person authorized to perform the functions of the state. And although this problem was later settled by the legislator, the question of the nature of the influence still remains debatable: whether it must necessarily be connected with the official position or whether it is possible to use friendly, family and other ties - the appropriateness of fixing as a separate qualifying sign of extortion, as well as the type of subjects of the specified crime.

Abstract:
Contemporary art, like modern design, cannot define a period scientifically, we can only understand it from a general period. Both contemporary art and modern design came into people's view gradually after the Second World War, and both actively explored and interacted with the whole world in their own ways of development under the great cultural environment after the Second World War. Although contemporary art and modern design have their own development characteristics, they have certain commonalities. Even in a certain sense, contemporary art and modern design are interchangeable. Due to the influence of science and technology and production factors, designers are different from artists. Art is a pure personal feeling, while design needs to take into account the preferences of the market, consumers and customers. Therefore, designers cannot be compared with artists in the pursuit of beauty. Therefore, in the design process, designers often draw inspiration from works of art, and the design thus develops in a good way. However, this does not mean that art and design are good or bad. Art and design are independent and interdependent, and art and design can only develop through mutual learning. Since the emergence of the Bauhaus Institute, modern design has undergone groundbreaking changes, from the pursuit of cumbersome and gorgeous design only for the aristocracy to the public design, simple style has become the dominant, which is a big step in the design industry. With the development of productivity level, design has changed from meeting people's basic life needs to meeting people's means of enriching daily life and improving the quality of life.

Abstract:
The ideological trend of contemporary art originated in the west, namely the ideological trend of contemporary art, can also be called "postmodernism". In the western art in the history of language, "after" (post) represents the meaning of "anti", which is the behavior of expressing personal style in the tide of modern art. This reminds people of was born in the 1950s in Britain pop art, born under the background of pop art, closely related to the consumer society, under the unique background gradually mature, British pop art pioneer Richard Hamilton, his masterpiece " what makes today's life so different, so attractive? It is a reflection, reflection and rebellion advocating elitism. These artists provide new design ideas for the development of artistic design, and apply more open and inclusive elements to artistic design, including poster design, which greatly enriches the expressive force of artistic works.

Abstract:
Purpose: The general objective of this study was to explore the influence of public art on urban revitalization. Methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Desk research refers to secondary data or that which can be collected without fieldwork. Desk research is basically involved in collecting data from existing resources hence it is often considered a low cost technique as compared to field research, as the main cost is involved in executive’s time, telephone charges and directories. Thus, the study relied on already published studies, reports and statistics. This secondary data was easily accessed through the online journals and library. Findings: The findings reveal that there exists a contextual and methodological gap relating to the influence of public art on urban revitalization. Preliminary empirical review revealed that public art exerted a multifaceted influence on urban revitalization, transforming cityscapes aesthetically and culturally while stimulating economic activity. By creating landmarks reflecting community values and histories, public art fostered a sense of place and belonging among residents. It also catalyzed economic growth through cultural tourism and creative industry development. Moreover, public art promoted social equity by empowering communities and fostering inclusivity through dialogue and engagement. Overall, the study underscored public art's pivotal role in contemporary urban planning, advocating for continued investment and community involvement to sustain its benefits in revitalizing urban spaces. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The Social Capital Theory, Place Attachment Theory and Creative Class Theory may be used to anchor future studies on public art on urban revitalization. Theoretical advancements included refining Social Capital Theory to explore how public art fosters community trust and cohesion. Practical recommendations emphasized participatory approaches in project planning and promoting diversity to reflect urban cultural richness. Policy suggestions focused on integrating public art into urban planning frameworks, allocating dedicated funding, and incorporating art into economic stimulus initiatives. These efforts aimed to enhance urban environments by leveraging public art for economic growth, community engagement, and cultural enrichment.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the modernization of art in Thailand on the reflection of the construction of the Thai national monument range in the 1930s to 1940s. The method used in this research is qualitative, with data sources coming from direct observation, interviews, and scientific documents. The result of this research shows that, the influx of western influence in Thailand indirectly influenced the modernization of the country's art culture. One of the triggers was the number of national academics who were sent to Europe to study, and returned to Thailand with a new artistic ideology. In addition, the influence of Italian artist Silpa Bhirashi also contributed to the modernization of Thai fine art. As it is known, he is one of the curriculum designers in Thai fine art schools and Silpakorn University. On the other hand in the political world, the modernization of Thai fine art was also influenced by the political policies of Marshall Phibunsongkhram who used art as a propaganda tool to unify the ideology of all Thai people.

Abstract:
Due to ecological and sustainability constraints, in late years we see great achievements in green technology in the field of materials science. The development of high-performance biocomposites (made from natural resources) is increasing worldwide. The challenge in working with natural fiber reinforced composites is the large spectrum of possibilities for making them.Biocomposites properties are influenced by a number of variables, including the fiber type, environmental conditions (where the plant fibers are sourced), processing methods, and any modification of the fiber. It is well known that recently exists a large interest in the industrial applications of composites containing biofibers reinforced with biopolymers. The characteristics of reinforcing fibers used in biocomposites, including source, type, structure, composition, as well as mechanical properties, will be reviewed. The variety of biocomposite processing techniques as well as the factors (moisture content, fiber type and content, coupling agents and their influence on composites properties) affecting these processes will be discussed.Techniques for processing the natural fiber reinforced composites will be discussed based on thermoplastic matrices (compression molding, extrusion, injection molding, and thermoforming), and thermosets (resin transfermolding, sheet molding compound). Their influence on mechanical performance (tensile, flexural and impact properties) will be evaluated. Finally, the work will conclude with recent developments and future trends of biocomposites.
