Abstract:
This article discusses the practical issues of compiling controlled multilingual thesauri for the purposes of industry-specific translation (IST). In the multilingual, transnational and globally connected Kazakhstan, IST is a much-needed translation service. IST is an interdisciplinary field between terminology, computational linguistics, translation theory and practice. Most of the professional guides, dictionaries and glossaries are systemized in alphabetical order and contain multiple variants for the terms searched. Therefore, there is an urgent need to create a systemized controlled multilingual thesaurus of industry-specific Kazakh, English and Russian terms in order to provide multilingual users with an interoperable and relevant term base. Controlled multilingual thesauri for industry-specific terms are the most effective tools for describing individual subject areas. They are designed to promote communication and interaction among professionals, translators and all Automated Information System users of specific fields irrespective of their location and health conditions. Unlike traditional dictionaries, controlled thesauri allow users to identify the meaning with the help of definitions and translations, relations of terms with other concepts, and broader and narrower terms. The purpose of this research is to unify and systematize industry-specific terms in Kazakh, to provide Russian and English equivalents, and to classify the terms into essential rubrics and subjects. Based on the Zthes data scheme to create a controlled multilingual thesaurus of industryspecific terms, the major rubrics have been formulated, and about 10,000 Kazakh mining and metal terms approved by the Terminological Committee of Kazakhstan have been structured.

Abstract:
Countries have been shown to be competitive in specific industries. This paper contends that this industrial specialization can be understood in terms of an affinity between national `models of capitalism' and the characteristics of industrial task environments. Put differently, industry-specific competitiveness is conceived to arise out of a fit between patterns of national business systems and patterns of industrial task environments. Specifically, the paper will propose a relationship between the communitarian or individualistic nature of national business systems and the organization-specificity of knowledge in an industry. More communitarian business systems are thought to enjoy a competitive advantage in industries with a high organization-specificity of knowledge, i.e. in industries that rely more on the long-term accumulation of organization-specific knowledge within tightly-knit corporate communities. More individualistic business systems, on the other hand, are thought to enjoy a competitive advantage in industries with a low organization-specificity of knowledge, i.e. in industries that thrive more on the speedy dissemination or reallocation of company-unspecific knowledge through a constant reconfiguration of social relationships. The paper will offer some illustrations of these proposed relationships in terms of the competitive profiles of the United States, Japan, Germany and Britain.

The article deals with the features of the location of agricultural production in the spatial dimension. It is established that the main indicators illustrating the level of regions’ socio-economic development are: the region’s share in the gross domestic product formation, the region’s share in national production (certain types), the concentration ratio, gross output at constant per capita prices population, employment rate in terms of sectors of the economy etc. It is proved that the highest level of development is mainly in the industrial regions of Ukraine (the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Kharkiv region, the Zaporizhia region, the Kyiv region and Kyiv itself). It is determined that the largest share of agricultural industry in the of gross regional product structure have traditional agricultural regions of Ukraine – the Vinnytsia region , the Kyiv region, the Poltava region, the Cherkasy region. It is calculated the generalizing coefficient of district specialization of agricultural production, according to which 9 regions of Ukraine have a high degree: the Vinnytsia region, the Zhytomyr region, the Kirovohrad region, the Sumy region, the Ternopil region, the Kherson region, the Khmelnytsky region, the Cherkasy region, the Chernihiv region.

Abstract:
The present article focuses on the peculiarities of the usage of colour terminology in advertisements. We live in a colourful world and there are great many colour words to describe it. We also live in a world where advertisement has become an accompanying phenomenon of our everyday life. It is obvious that the language of advertising has its specific features and it seems worth trying to reveal the role and the meaning of the colours used in advertisements. Colour terms are known to be linguistic universals which have certain associations attached to each of them. We may suppose that the colours that are mostly used in the advertisements are the basic colour terms. The spheres where we expect to find wider usage of colour terms should be the ones connected with fashion industry.

Abstract:
The article continues the collection of the author’s publications that devoted to studying of lexical-semantical peculiarities of Ukrainian terminology of ceramics. The phenomenon of polysemy in terminology studied in his works Ukrainian and foreign scientists. Ukrainian ceramic terminology is also no exception for the research of this lexical-semantic process. In the article attention is paid to finding out the causes of appearance of the meaningful terms of the researched vocabulary. The main factors of appearance of polisemantic units in the terminology of ceramic can be considered terminologization of common vocabulary, terminologization based on metonimical of and metaphorical transfers of meanings, savings the linguistic resources. As for being of the meaningful terms in terminology the thoughts of the researchers are polar divided. Exploring the ceramic vocabulary, note that should avoid the polisemantic terms, especially within one terminology system. In the analyzed article outlined the types of meaningful units in ceramic terminology and the classification of the analyzed polisemantic words of the field of use, structure, morphological affiliation and origin. There are three types of terminological polysemy of the field of use within the ceramic terminology: interconnect, interconnection and externally system polysemy. Polisemants of ceramic industry are mostly provided with one-word terms expressed derivative and non-derivative nouns for structural expression. Ceramic terms-polisemants are separately analysed for the origin. Among them defined borrowed and specific (mostly at externally system polysemy) units. During the study of meaningful terms of Ukrainian ceramics industry was found synonyms connections within polysemantic terms. Determined that synonyms phenomenon can occur in pairs of words where synonims variants of each other provided with specific and foreign language equivalents. We consider the existence of possible polysemy of terms within the contiguous terminological systems, that can be a means of saving language resources, and deny the possibility of using the same term for different concepts within the same terminology.

Abstract:
The article deals with means of construction terminology translation from English into Russian language. The paper presents semantic and structural differences of construction terminology in the English language and their Russian equivalents. The research of methods used for translation of English construction terminology shows that the most commonly used methods of simple terms translation are the search of equivalents, transcription and transliteration, while multicomponent terms are commonly translated with the help of different lexical transformations, transposition and grammatical substitution. Translation transformations make it possible to account for typological differences of the English and Russian languages and also to adequately convey the meaning of a term. Translation of multicomponent terms may present some problems as for delivering their precise meaning it is important to correctly define their boundaries and also to elicit nuclear and determinative components. It is worth noting that the number of components in a translated term may differ from that of the original term.

Abstract:
Purpose – This study aims to examine the relationships between a firm's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and its performance and risk. The authors hypothesize that industry-level effects are highly determinant of the sign and magnitude of these relationships to establish a ranking of industries to identify the position of the most prominent tourism-related industries: hotels and airlines. Based on the cybernetic model of decision making and the heuristics thereof, shareholders base their investment decisions derived from CSR announcements on the idea that the industries behave differently; their fixed costs being a relevant factor. Design/methodology/approach – The authors estimate the industry-specific effects of CSR initiatives on firms' performance and risk using a sample of 583 announcements from the Spanish Stock Market. Findings – The results show that while CSR announcements have a positive effect on performance when the authors do not account for industry-specific factors, once the authors incorporate these factors into the analysis, the authors find that firm performance and risk vary quite substantially as a function of the industry to which the firm belongs. Interestingly, while the hotel industry presents an average behavior (standing at 9th position in returns, 15th in terms of risk, and 8th according to the ratio returns/volatility), the airline industry presents the worst situation of all industries: last in performance and last in risk. Practical implications – The results help managers assess their decisions and allocate CSR resources optimally. Originality/value – This article is the first attempt to empirically test and comprehensively detect the different relationships between CSR and firm performance across industries.

The article presents the assessment results of the current state and existing problems of the functioning and development of the Russian food industry based on the analysis of scientific, practical and legislative materials in the field of fisheries, fish farming and fish processing. The analysis was carried out in accordance with key indicators specified by the State Program for the Development of the Fisheries Complex of the Russian Federation, such as the volume of production (catch) of aquatic biological resources, the development of aquaculture, per capita consump-tion of fish and fish products by the population, the share of domestic agricultural, fishery products and food in the total volume commodity resources of the domestic market. The priority task is the transition from the export-raw material to the innovative type of development of the fisheries complex based on the conservation and rational use of aquatic biological resources, the introduction of new technologies, increasing the of domestic fish products ratio in the domestic and foreign markets and raising the competitiveness of the Russian fish products. Changes in the intensity and structure of fish and other aquatic biological resources production in the Russian aquaculture over the past decades are analyzed. Both negative and positive trends in the industrial development have been identified. A significant role in the sustainable development of fish industry is given to integration associations. The types of integrated fisheries business structures that are most prevalent in Russia are considered. To solve existing problems and improve the competitiveness of the fishing industry, it was recommended to consolidate the efforts of the main industry partners in terms of responsibility and economic trust, development of associative and regulatory framework tools.

Abstract:
The question of balanced redistribution of tax revenues generated in the territory of a subject of the Russian Federation is becoming more urgent. Their value depends largely on the tax burden on the regional economy, which in turn is determined not only by the system of taxes and fees currently in force, but by the sectoral structure of the economy as well. It is against this background that the peculiarities of sectoral taxation are studied on the example of such a subsidized subject of the Russian Federation as the Chuvash Republic, which is the purpose of the study. Such research methods as analytical, comparative methods of study, the grouping method, graphic images are applied. The dynamics and structure of tax revenues and gross regional product based on types of economic activity are examined and compared. It is revealed that the first place in terms of the share in the gross regional product in the Chuvash Republic is taken by manufacturing, the second place falls on trade, the third – to agriculture. At the same time in 2018–2019, manufacturing enterprises provided 47% of all tax payments of the Chuvash Republic, the second most important was trade activity (12.7% of all payments in 2019), construction accounted for 7.3% of all tax payments. Due to the fact that the tax burden on the regional economy is a criterion for assessing the impact of taxation on the socio-economic development of the region taking into account the regional tax policy and its sectoral structure, the authors present calculation of the level of actual tax burden as the ratio of mobilized tax payments to gross regional product by major types of economic activities in the Chuvash Republic. As the calculations showed, activities such as manufacturing, mining and construction bear a significant tax burden. Agriculture provided only 0.4% of received tax payments in general for Chuvashia for all activities and carries the lowest tax burden due to the peculiarities of taxation in this industry. Thus, the tax burden is extremely unevenly distributed by the types of economic activity.

Abstract:
One of the modern tools to improve the efficiency of businesses in the Western countries is engineering services. However, in Russia engineering services are not welcomed by the tax authorities and arbitration managers. A new National Standard of the Russian Federation ‘Engineering. Terminology and basic concepts in the field of engineering’ was introduced in 2017. The current task is to create an extensive application practice of this standard in order to close the remaining numerous gaps related to definition of criteria and concepts that govern the procedures of conclusion and execution of contracts for engineering services, confirming the delivery of such services with due account for the specific nature of the industry and the tasks to be solved. In addition, it is necessary to develop universal algorithms for their cost assessment. This paper describes the tasks of engineering, outlines the history and research in the field of engineering, explains the specific features of engineering services in the coal industry, and provides a detailed analysis of provisions of this standard. The author states that the scope of terms in this standard is limited only to the most genera concepts and does not contain any indication of the industry-specific features of engineering work and services. The author participated in successful implementation of engineering services and its elements in more than 20 projects in the Russian coal industry.

Abstract:
According to the IPCC, a global carbon budget of 400 GtCO2 is required to limit the temperature rise to 1.5 °C with a 67% likelihood by 2050. The finance industry is increasingly committed to ambitious climate targets. In this article, we describe the detailed methodology and energy model architecture of a MATLAB-based integrated energy assessment model for industry-specific 1.5 °C pathways, with a high technical resolution of target parameters as key performance indicators (KPIs). The additionality of OECM 2.0 is the high technical resolution in terms of the level of detail of industry-specific energy demand and supply parameters that can be modeled—a prerequisite to define industry-specific KPIs. We found that a database of industry-sector-specific energy demands and energy intensities, with a consistent methodology, is required to improve the accuracy of calculations in future research. We supplement the technical documentation with the results for a transport scenario.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to identify factors that affect the pricing policy in Slovenian manufacturing firms in terms of the markup size and, most of all, to explicitly account for the possibility of differences in pricing procedures among manufacturing industries. Accordingly, the analysis of the dynamic panel is carried out on an industry-by-industry basis, allowing the coefficients on the markup determinants to vary across industries. We find that the oligopoly theory of markup determination for the most part holds for the manufacturing sector as a whole, although large variability in markup determinants exists across industries within the Slovenian manufacturing. Our main conclusion is that each industry should be investigated separately in detail in order to assess the precise role of markup factors in the markup-determination process.

Abstract:
The article covers the study of industry-specific vocabulary in Ukrainian translated lexicography of the early twentieth century (post-revolutionary era). The analysis is based on the “Moscow-Ukrainian Dictionary” (1918) written by V. Dubrovskyi. Sector-specific vocabulary in the analyzed source has its remarks as most lexicographical works have. We selected all marked units with the help of a specially created lexicographic system. The previously published article has its detailed description. The studied material thus, counts around 4 % of industry-specific words. According to our calculations, the most numerically predominant dictionary units are the units of both biology (including botanical, zoological and anatomical terms) and medicine. The most numerous nomenclature is the botanical one. To one Russian word, we can find multiple Ukrainian equivalents including various dialectal, regional, folk names, etc. Generally speaking, synonymy is a prevailing phenomenon to many fields of knowledge. The zoological nomenclature is quite frequent in the analyzed dictionary too. There are many names of animals (mostly non-local) that cannot be found in the Ukrainian language today. They are absent in modern lexicographical works too. Many of them even cannot be found in the dictionaries of the post-revolutionary era. Many little-known, colloquial, dialectal and even stylistically reduced names are can be found in the field of anatomy. Numerous names of diseases that are recorded in the “Moscow-Ukrainian Dictionary” are not part of the common medical terminology. Comparing to the above mentioned fields, the analyzed work presents fewer terms from the field of grammar, mineralogy, mathematics, chemistry, music, military affairs, and technology. The biggest number of words that belong to the modern Ukrainian scientific language can be found in the fields of grammar, mathematics and chemistry. Few single terms that were mentioned in the dictionary belong to such sciences as veterinary medicine, hunting, construction, etc. Consequently, the “Moscow-Ukrainian Dictionary” contains a number of industry-specific vocabulary that is not registered in the modern Ukrainian scientific language. Moreover, synonymy is considered to be a prevailing phenomenon, despite being not typically used in all industries. Largely as a result of the analysis made, the author indeed desires to choose Ukrainian terms that would be as different as possible from the Russian equivalents.

Abstract Every employer is responsible for ensuring safe and hygienic working conditions. According to the Labor Code and the relevant regulations, the elements of safe and hygienic working conditions in each enterprise are very similar. Differences arise when a specific industry or special psychophysical needs of an employee are taking into consideration. There is a specific group of employees for whom the working conditions organized by the employer in terms of occupational health and safety differ from the average working conditions. In the paper the needs, limitations and psychophysical possibilities of professionally active employees with sensory integration disorders are analyzed. In this purpose the direct interview with elements of open observation was used as the research method. The results presented in this paper are the small part (initial diagnosis) of the large project. Preliminary conclusions confirm the difficulty of adapting employees with sensory integration disorders to a universal work environment and the great need to organize special working conditions for them.

Abstract:
Textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. It has a high importance in terms of its environment impact, since it consumes a considerably large amount of water and produces highly polluted discharge water. In this work, characterization of toxic organic compounds is proposed. Based on gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC/MS) screening analysis, organic micropollutant diversity of textile effluents from a local textile processing factory was investigated. In the present work, physicochemical characterization of the studied textile effluents showed considerably high values of principal pollution parameters above the prescribed discharge water limits. Heavy metals like zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), and lead (Pb) were found to be present within the permissible limits. The results of GC/MS revealed the presence of various organic compounds belonging to a wide range of chemical classes. Main groups of chemical compounds detected in these effluents were aromatic carboxylic acids, alkanes, aromatic amines, phthalates, aliphatic carboxylic acids, and linear aliphatic alcohols. The results of this study allowed significant contributions to the chemical characterization of textile industry contaminants and identification of indicators that can be considered an important tool for assessment of the potential impact of textile activities to the contamination of aquatic environment and health hazard.

Abstract:
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to analyze the role played by general technical terms in the nomination of technical artifacts in the sphere of mining industry. The general technical vocabulary includes words that signal the scientific and technical nature of the text as well as its production and technical nature. The object of the analysis is the Russian nominative system, which is contained in the texts of the production and technical profile, which provide a description of mining equipment, as well as provide specific and clear information about certain mining devices. The subject of the study is Russian general technical terms denoting mining artifacts. The purpose of the study has defined the range of the tasks: 1) to form the body of the researched terminological units; 2) to determine the types of general technical terms denoting mining artifacts; 3) to illustrate the importance of general technical terminology for the formation of the subsystem of the mining industry artifacts names. Methods. The body of the research has been formed using the method of continuous sampling from the encyclopedic reference book on Mining, polytechnic dictionaries of the Russian language, textbooks and manuals on Mining, mining machines, mining complexes for open and underground mining, etc. Besides, analytical and formal-structural methods have been used. As a result of the research the types of general technical terms for the designation of mining artifacts were determined and the significance of general technical terminology for the formation of the subsystem of the artifacts names in the mining industry was illustrated. Denotative general technical terms (like винт, конвейер, транспортер, манипулятор, экскаватор, самосвал, etc.) are singled out, as well as a significant group of terms whose semantics makes them occupy an intermediate position between denotative and significant terms and therefore can be defined as denotative-significant ones (устройство, аппарат, прибор). It is determined that the general technical terms of both types are actively used in the formation of compound terms denoting mining artifacts, for example: центробежный воздушный сепаратор с вращающимися тарелками, стяжной болт, натяжной винт, башенный экскаватор, шнековый загрузочный аппарат, прибор фильтрующего действия, загрузочное устройство ленточного конвейера. The conclusions show that general technical terminology in the subsystem under investigation is represented by the terms of both denotative and denotative-significant type. In addition, it is concluded that general technical terms of both types are actively used in the building of compound term-names of mining artifacts.Key words: nomination, mining artifact, general technical term, denotative term, denotative-significant term.

Abstract:
AbstractThis study estimated and specified a model of corporate reputation, its social performance, and firm-level variables in the context of an emerging country. Corporate reputation is the overall estimation of a firm by its stakeholders expressed by the demonstrative behaviors to its customers, employees, investors, business partners, and general public. The social performance of the firm has been conceptualized in terms of its demonstrative responsible behavior toward community, environment, and employees. Organizational variability has been captured in this study through the representation of firms from various industries as the relationship between corporate reputation and firm’s social performance was contingent on the type of industry and expectation of industry-specific stakeholders relevant to the firm. Data were collected from 220 organizations representing 11 different industry verticals. The findings supported that corporate reputation is determined by the conjoint influence of a host of firm specific as well as its social performance factors. In addition, the reputational effect of firm’s social performance was found to vary both across and within sectors, according to the various types of social performance activities the firm was engaged in. This study demonstrated the comprehensive measures of the firm’s reputation, social performance, and the associative relationship between them conditioned by firm-specific attributes and nature of the industry. The study has far reaching implications in terms of managing the firm’s boundary spanning activities and relationships in the perspective of emerging markets.

Abstract:
The article examines the current problems of production diversification by the example of a specific defense enterprise. One of the main concerns here is the preservation and reproduction of outdated principles for constructing organizational management structures. This is one of the extreme difficulties in the transition of defense industry enterprises towards free market economy. Instead of the existing linear-functional management structure, the paper proposes a new business approach to its construction as one of the options for restructuring the organizational structure, providing for the correct description of all business processes of the enterprise both in cost and in technological sections. For a particular enterprise, it is proposed, within the framework of using the process approach, to consider the general production process as the unity of two main subprocesses: operational and innovation, with the operational process being a solution to the current production and sale issues whereas innovative, respectively, to all challenges for the future production. The model of interaction between the services of innovation and operational management is built, which provides for the setting up a technical support service and an innovation center to improve the organizational structure of the enterprise.

Abstract:
This paper presents a literature review of recent research on introducing the Industry 4.0 approach to improving energy efficiency, especially in the wood industry. While researchers focus on processes, service, and customer concepts, the effect on energy consumption is less addressed in these studies and applications. This paper focuses on previous works that discuss how to apply Industry 4.0 concepts to energy issues, such as to achieve better efficiency and performance for the industry in general and the wood industry in particular. The complexity of the study requires a multistep development. First, we define each concept separately and the relationships between them. Second, we apply a search algorithm to find related articles with specific terms, and then use the PRISMA method to select the most important ones, eliminating duplicates and excluding articles that do not mention energy efficiency and Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing or wood industry. Third, we explain and categorize the results and consolidate the study with brief examples from other industries. Finally, we conclude the study by mentioning the limitations and perspectives.

We find that, net of industry-specific effects, companies in common law countries score higher in corporate governance and community involvement, while those in countries belonging to the French legal tradition of civil law do better in human resources. We also observe no significant differences in terms of environmental protection among companies in civil and common law countries, which we attribute to a progressive convergence towards common industry sustainability standards.

Abstract:
Hybrid material systems are designed by the specific combination of different materials. As a result, expanded property profiles can be achieved, which would not be possible with monolithic material solutions. For lightweight, high strength and high rigidity, complex shaped structural components, which are used in the automotive industry and in aerospace, hybrid material systems offer an outstanding potential. A comprehensive understanding regarding the interaction of the individual components of the hybrid material is of great importance for a more efficient design of future structures. In this work, existing hybrid solutions for industrial applications and those, which are subject of current research, are analyzed and categorized first. Intrinsic and extrinsic material combinations are considered at different levels, ranging from hybrid laminates on shell level to complex hybrid structures on component level. Based on the situation analysis, different hybrid solutions are evaluated and compared considering the requirements of the automotive industry. Furthermore, the associated physical mechanisms which are responsible for the respective property profile are considered and explained systematically. The long-term objective of the work is to establish a methodology to derive the necessary physical mechanisms and, based on that, to derive optimal hybrid solutions for desired property profiles.

Abstract:
The economic shock represented by the Covid19 crisis has been showing the limits of industrial policy choices such as that of the chosen globalisation model, a model characterised in particular by the relocation of “key” manufacturing activities away from EU countries and towards low-cost emerging countries. In relation to the Covid19 crisis, relocation emanates from industrial policy choices that have weakened the health filière (encompassing the chemicals & pharmaceutical manufacturing industries and the health service industry). The specific case of Ireland shows a strong manufacturing specialisation in the relatively resilient pharmaceutical industry, a strength undermined by a relatively inefficient health service industry. National policy responses have taken the form of a large number of schemes estimated to amount to some €5bn. Questions arise in terms of the ability of the EU, and of Ireland therein, to secure its health sovereignty in the future, and in terms of the implications of growing indebtedness, particularly in the euro-area.

Abstract:
The aim of the text is to present various approaches towards personnel management in the building industry. The difference in the analysed approaches is partially caused by the fact that sectors within building industry also differ substantially. The paper is divided into five sections dealing among others with personnel management and its efficiency, tools used to measure and improve personnel management efficiency and characteristics of specific problems of personnel management. The principle methods of inquiry used in the text include literature study and case study. The author stresses the fact that construction industry is demanding in terms of personnel management, as it has to deal with special requirements stemming from employment area, including: the seasonal nature of the building works, spasmodic nature of works on individual projects, required qualification of workers in the building industry, building technology and system operations. The author concludes that due to constantly changing environment the building industry uses flexible personnel work systems and that the challenge is to adapt the personnel management system efficiency to the variable environment and make the building industry personnel management flexible.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this study is to expand on the existing literature by specifically examining data security incidents within the hospitality industry, assessing origins and causes, comparing breaches within the industry with those of other industries and identifying areas of concern. Design/methodology/approach A sample of data breach incidents is drawn from the Verizon VERIS Community Database (VCDB). Statistical comparisons between hospitality and non-hospitality industry firms are conducted following the Verizon A4 threat framework. Findings The results reveal that breaches between hospitality and non-hospitality firms differ significantly in terms of actors, actions, assets and attributes. Specifically, proportions of breaches in the hospitality industry are larger in terms of external actors, hacking and malware, user devices compromised and integrity violations. Additionally, compared to other industries, point-of-sales (POS) system breaches occur at a higher rate in the hospitality industry. The study finds that company size, hacking and malware predict the likelihood of a POS breach. Research limitations/implications The study uses secondary data and does not include the entire universe of data breaches. Originality/value In the quest to reduce data breach incidents, it is imperative to identify and assess the nature of data breach incidents between industries. Doing so permits the development of targeted industry-specific solutions rather than generic ones. This study systematically identifies differences between hospitality and non-hospitality data security incidents and then suggests areas where hospitality companies should focus future attention to mitigate breach incidents.

Presently, most enterprises have transformed into a link of the whole supply chain by means of forming groups, dummy enterprises or strategic leagues of the industry chain established by joint shares, etc. These enterprises are able to maximize the whole profit of the industry chain while providing the maximum value for each of their clients in accordance with their demand. The management of the industry chain endows logistic management with new significance and functions. The thesis probes into the general strategies for logistic management under the conditions of industry chains by using a specific model so as to integrate logistics or material flow, capital flow and information flow. It describes a subdivided information-oriented enterprise that is based on the industry chain. Such enterprises emphasize particularly on the coordination among the participating enterprises in terms of goods, information and funds. This would be a win-win situation for enterprise.

Abstract:
Network slicing is widely studied as an essential technological enabler for supporting diverse use case specific services through network virtualization. Industry verticals, consisting of diverse use cases requiring different network resources, are considered key customers for network slices. However, different approaches for network slice provisioning to industry verticals and required business models are still largely unexplored and require further work. Focusing on technical and business aspects of network slicing, this article develops three new business models, enabled by different distributions of business roles and management exposure between business actors. The feasibility of the business models is studied in terms of; the costs and benefits to business actors, mapping to use cases in various industry verticals, and the infrastructure costs of common and dedicated virtualization infrastructures. Finally, a strategic approach and relevant recommendations are proposed for major business actors, national regulatory authorities, and standards developing organizations.

Abstract:
The study contributes to cyber-physical system (CPS) modelling during a building life cycle. The framework through which systems engineers could design and construct these CPS requires an ontology and a structure of terms. Thus, the structure of terms for modern information system, including approaches, concepts and terms, is proposed as the basis of ontology. The task of the study was to present the model of CPS management structure in accordance with the Industry 4.0 program. In order to construct it the dynamics of the relationship of terms has been given. An infographic modeling method has been used in the study. The subject of research is one of the model levels, responsible for knowledge conversion from machine-digital to human-oriented form, which will be the basis for the operator’s understanding of the knowledge accumulated by the CPS, and will help to make non-trivial management decisions. The structure of terms including approaches, concepts and terms, is proposed as the basis of ontology. The dynamics of the relationship of terms is given. Model of CPS management structure is presented in accordance with the Industry 4.0 program. The “Infographic models management” level specific to the CPS is defined. Three types of infographic slides which can be issued by CPS within the domain area of construction and design are proposed.

Abstract:
Purpose – This paper aims to examine the global competitiveness of an emerging market multinational (EMM) from China through the case of a major European acquisition, in Italy, in the heavy construction industry. Country- and firm-specific factors are considered. Horizontal integration in this oligopolistic industry changes the industry dynamics, with significant implications for its players. Design/methodology/approach – The paper follows case study methodology and triangulates data through a literature review, an examination of available company data and interviews of key personnel. Firm- and country-specific factors, both advantages and disadvantages, including the business environment in the construction industry, globally and regionally, are analyzed. Findings – The paper identifies several key success factors at the firm level, including the integration of research and development, marketing and sales; the development of extensive communication and trust among the managers of both companies; the exploitation of the Chinese market as a source of demand; and the shifting of selected production lines to the Chinese market. Research limitations/implications – The traditional models of country-specific advantages/disadvantages and firm-specific advantages/disadvantages are augmented by examining the host market and industry task environments. Host country-specific factors for successful integration include favorable local conditions, both in terms of endowments and institutions, and an industrial cluster with supporting firms and services. Practical implications – Following the case study, managers can refer to the key success factors to emulate “best practices”. The paper concludes with a heuristic developed by the Chairman of Zoomlinon, Chunxin Zhan, underlining five principles for a successful EEM acquisition: understanding, sharing, responsibility, compliance and coordination. Originality/value – This paper develops a deep case study analysis and provides useful theoretical and practical implications with reference to Chinese acquisition in the Western markets.

Abstract:
Over the past decades, there has been a trend towards privatisation in Europe. However, surprisingly little has been published in the finance literature on the industry effects of privatisation on non-financial firms’ capital structure. Talberg, Winge, Frydenberg, and Westgaard (2008) demonstrate that capital structures are industry-specific, and the literature on privatisation and leverage claims both a positive and a negative effect. Using a large sample of privatised firms in Europe, this paper analyses the impact of privatisation on firms’ capital structure. Our results provide no evidence that privatisation impacts firms’ capital structure. Instead, the level of leverage remains largely the same a few years after privatisation. These results remain unchanged even after controlling for certain characteristics, such as the type (asset sale or share issue) of privatisation and the percentage of privatisation. However, additional tests reveal that industry specificities are relevant in explaining capital structure variations following privatisation. When considering industry-specific characteristics, we found substantial statistical evidence that firms in capital-intensive industries experience a greater leverage level after being privatised. Our findings also suggest that governments may optimise privatisation processes after considering what capital-intensive firms may require in terms of funding long-term assets.

Abstract:
Investor has cognitive limitation in the form of limited information-processing capacity relative to the amount of information available to them. This limitation force investors to optimize their valuable resources by focusing only to a specific set of information based on their unique preference. Since different industry have different information complexities, different industries will have different investor segment in terms of investor number, investor sophistication, and investor speed to gather and to comprehend information from other industry. We investigate the prevalence of investor’s limited information-processing capacity in Indonesian stock market using autoregressive model. We used monthly data from 31 December 1999 to 30 September 2015 to identify whether there are industries that consistently lead other industries. We find only mining industry return, with small market capitalization only 3.3% relative to total Jakarta Composite Index market capitalization, which consistently leads Jakarta Composite Index return for one to two months.

Abstract:
Exceeding the approved budget is often an integral part of the implementation of construction projects, especially those where unforeseen threats may occur. Therefore, each construction investment should contain elements of risk forecasting, mainly in terms of the cost of its implementation. Only a small number of institutions apply effective cost control methods, taking into account the specifics of a given industry. Especially small construction companies that participate in the structure of the implementation of large construction projects as subcontractors. The article presents a method by which it is possible to determine, with certain probability, the final cost of railway construction investments carried out in Poland. The method was based on a reliable database of risk factors published in sources. In this article, the main presumptions of the original method are presented, which take into account the impact of potential, previously recognized, risks specific to railway investments, and enable project managers to relate them to the conditions where the implementation of a specific object is planned. The authors assumed that such a relatively simple method, supported by a suitable computational program, would encourage teams that plan to implement railway projects to use it and increase the credibility of their schedules.

Abstract:
PURPOSE Despite the well-understood benefits of biomarker and genetic testing in precision medicine, uptake remains low, particularly for patients with low socioeconomic status and minority ethnic backgrounds. Patients report having limited familiarity with testing terminology and may not be able to accurately explain testing's role in treatment decisions. Patient confusion and lack of understanding is exacerbated by a multiplicity of overlapping terms used in communicating about testing. A LUNGevity Foundation–led working group composed of five professional societies, 23 patient advocacy groups, and 19 industry members assessed and recommended specific terms for communicating with patients on testing for tumor characteristics and germline mutations. METHODS Members completed a precision oncology testing framework analysis (biomarkers, germline variants, testing modalities, biospecimen, and commonly used testing terms) for nine solid tumors and blood cancers. The evaluation was segmented into terms that distinguish between somatic and germline testing. Additional data were captured in a comprehensive survey (1,650 respondents) led by FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) on patient preferences on germline testing terms. RESULTS Thirty-three terms were noted in patient education related to biomarker, genetic, and genomic testing. Biomarker testing was selected as the preferred term for testing for somatic (acquired) alterations and other biomarkers. Genetic testing for an inherited mutation and genetic testing for inherited cancer risk were selected as the preferred terms for testing for germline variants. CONCLUSION Democratizing comprehension about precision oncology testing through intentional use of plain language and common umbrella terminology by oncology health care providers and others in the oncology ecosystem may help improve understanding and communication, and facilitate shared decision making about the role of appropriate testing in treatment decisions and other aspects of oncology care.
