Abstract:
The goal is to identify the features and prospects for production of dietary meat in Kazakhstan, to reveal the problems that constrain it. Methods – statistical, sociological research, analytical. Results – the development of poultry and rabbit breeding industries is shown. Additional opportunities for expanding the dietary meat market are analyzed: growing ostriches, quails, turkeys, etc. The paper assesses the export and import of poultry meat and by-products, the dynamics of poultry farming indicators over a number of years. A comparative analysis of the efficiency of breeding cattle and ostriches has been carried out. The reasons hindering the expansion of production of dietary meat are summarized: competitive advantages of producing countries in CIS and abroad; historically developed mentality of the population; low level of advertizing; lack of veterinary certification for ostrich and rabbit meat, bird flu; insignificant interest from investors. Conclusions – there is a need for effective public support for the development of the industry on the basis of concessional lending to entrepreneurship, tax exemption for enterprises during the formation of this type of business, public assistance in the field of product certification; support for R&D by investor to empower the industry; its modernization, equipping with the latest equipment, improving technologies for obtaining environmentally friendly organic products. The production of dietary meat is economically profitable and has the potential for its comprehensive distribution on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Abstract:
The article aims to review studies of various aspects of the Russian innovation system, which were conducted under the auspices of the leading sociological centers of the Russian Federation, in order to identify and compare the heuristic potential of the methodical and methodological approaches and models applied, as well as to conduct a secondary analysis of the empirical data obtained through them. Materials of research conducted at the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Association of Innovative Regions of Russia are used in the present study. A secondary analysis of the considered empirical data and approaches to their analysis in the context of improving the heuristic potential of the narrative institutional analysis of the Russian innovation system is carried out. The paper demonstrates that the consistency of narratives and studied data, including indicators of official statistics, is ambiguous. The article considers the interrelation of indicators and narratives about certain problematic issues such as the volume and sources of innovation funding, the importance of intellectual property rights registration for the innovation implementation, the need for long-term planning for the implementation of innovations, the state's focus on stimulation of innovation, the most and least innovative industries and types of economic activities.

Abstract:
This article discusses some possibilities for a critical interpretation of Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory. On the one hand, this theory could provide a sophisticated new sociological account of well-known modern social pathologies, such as alienation and reification; on the other, it could be considered a crypto-normative model for the reciprocal mediation between system and environment in which neither blind tautologies nor colonizations would take place. I argue that as a normative model this theoretical matrix seems to resonate with aspects of Adorno’s negative dialectics between subject and object and that the involuntary promise it contains could be fully realized only under other social conditions. The article also presents a preliminary critique of neoliberalism reconceptualized in systems theoretical terms as a dedifferentiation machinery that aims at establishing the primacy of economic rationality and the formation of ‘industries’ in different social spheres.

Abstract:
Chernihiv is a large city in the north of Ukraine, which has been the center of socio-cultural and political life of Ukrainians since the times of Kyivan Rus’. Today, it is an industrial and cultural center, an important transport hub. In recent years, positive changes have been observed in the socio-economic development of Chernihiv. The article reveals the main features of urban development. Its tasks and main elements are described. The situation related to the state of air pollution, water resources, including in Chernihiv, was analyzed. The main sources of environmental pollution are described. The problem of solid waste management in the city is considered. Urban noise has been described as a factor in air pollution that adversely affects human health. The effect of insolation within the city is characterized, the consequences and requirements for its consideration in the planning of cities, districts or neighborhoods are indicated. The analysis of the aeration regime of the city territory as a factor influencing the comfort of living in the city is carried out. The role of green plantations is determined, which is an important element of the natural environment and improvement of urban space. Three types of comfort in the city (ecological, social and urban) are described and their main features are pointed out. Our vision of a comfortable city, which should be compact, convenient and polycentric, to provide equal access to benefits to different segments of society, is proposed. The industrial complex and the reasons for the decline in the pace and volume of industrial production in some previously leading industries are described. The main enterprises of Chernihiv that implement modern technological solutions are identified. The transport complex of the city and tendencies of its further development are considered. An analysis of health, education, culture and recreation facilities, as well as the situation in the social sphere of Chernihiv. An analysis of a sociological survey among the city’s residents on the improvement problems which concern residents the most has been carried out. This study showed that the most pressing issues for citizens are garbage removal and household waste management, the problem of heat supply and public transport. An analysis of respondents’ responses revealed that they support positive trends in the creation of new sports and children’s playgrounds, but want these facilities to be within walking distance of their place of residence. Most citizens are satisfied with the work of the city authorities to address the issues of improvement and comfort of Chernihiv, hoping for further positive changes. The paper identifies the priority areas of development of Chernihiv for the coming years. Among them: improving the living standards of the population, improving the environment, further economic growth, increasing employment in the city, updating and creating new quality infrastructure, supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

Abstract:
The article reveals the main features of the development of the urban environment. The structure of the urban economy, the environmental aspects of the development of modern cities are considered. The economic progress of any city is closely related to the territory in which it is located. Prioritization of use by individual territories depends on changes in the socio-economic sphere. The main factors of transformational changes in the urban economy are highlighted, among them – the development of human society, which stimulates the emergence of new industries and technologies, the gradual loss of the cities industrial function due to the increasing influence of the services sector, concentration in the cities large numbers of the population, which causes the renovation of the infrastructure, development of service, cultural and entertainment facilities, the environmental degradation, which encourages cities to refuse dirty production and road transport. The ecological state of Chernihiv and the dynamics of its changes are characterized. Chernihiv belongs to the type of cities with relatively high level of industrial development. Industrial complex of the city, having significant share in the real sector of economy of the city, considerably influences the level and quality of life of city inhabitants. Industrial enterprises of the city went through a deep economic crisis, and beginning since 2002, stood on the way of post-crisis development, that means stabilization and rebirth of production. One of the peculiarities of industrial infrastructure of the city is that most of industrial facilities are located outside residential areas of the city. Analyzed the results of a survey among residents of the city on the idea of sustainable (balanced) development. According to the data, the population is characterized by insufficient information about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The results of a sociological study record the trend of the gradual spread of eco-regulatory practices among the population. First of all, it concerns energy conservation, cycling and rational use of natural resources.

Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to analyse the impact of e-paper on many existing industries including paper, publishing, book distribution, display, handheld device manufacturers and content service providers. Flexible display has been studied by many institutes, firms and market research companies. Some believe that e-paper is an exceptional application for flexible display, and the need for flexible display development for handheld devices and cloud-based e-book content is indisputable. Design/methodology/approach This study uses the Delphi technique and STEEP (Sociological, Technological, Economic, Environmental and Political aspects) with a panel to analyse a business model and the opportunity for the development of e-paper in Taiwan up to the year 2020. Findings The study concludes that e-paper content and customised digital services are an essential part of e-paper development, while hardware and cloud data are no more than a mechanism to show, compute and store data. Thus, whether the screen of a handheld device is flexible may not be of importance. Although e-paper will affect the display industry, it will not substitute for handheld devices and traditional bookstores. Originality/value This research can be used as a reference for government, academics, industry and international investors.

Abstract:
Purpose Drawing on sociological theories of Giddens, Bourdieu and Goffman, the purpose of this paper is to explore how different relationships are characterized between actors in interaction and determine whether social theories of practice resonate as being practical to managers. Design/methodology/approach In the empirical investigations, the authors employ the Delphi method whereby the authors “elevate” six highly experienced marketing practitioners in Dubai and Bangkok, each in different industries and from different cultural backgrounds, to designated “expert” positions in exploring the practical relevance of the practice-based theories of Bourdieu, the dramaturgy of Goffman and the structuration theory of Giddens in understanding practical experiences of managing in business-to-business networks. Findings The results show that aspects of these theories are consistent with practitioners’ experiences in many ways but the theories themselves do not appear to resonate with the modernist practical consciousness of the participants as being particularly pragmatic or practically useful except as resources they could selectively borrow from as bricoleurs of changing action. Originality/value Social practice theories appear rather too abstract and complex to practical actors. It is therefore paradoxical that social practice theories do not appear as sufficiently “handy” or “ready to hand” in Heidegger’s (1962) terms; being in need of translation into practical usefulness. It would appear that social practice theories can be a useful analytical vehicle for the academic analyst but cannot resonate with the modernist consciousness of the practical actor.

Abstract:
Introduction: along with major civilizational revolutions, the past 50 years have seen advances of the biotechnological, or genetic, revolution. It has resulted in the development of industries such as transplantology, pro-creative technologies, gerontology, etc., which led to a sharp change in the anthropological situation and transformation of human corporeality. Due to the biotechnological revolution, people learned how to diagnose and treat hereditary diseases, life expectancy increased, and birth control became possible. This revolution gave rise to a new conceptual language, in the structure of which the concept of ‘genomic information’ occupies the most important place. Purpose: the article is devoted to the analysis and substantiation of the areas of legal impact on the results of genomic research, which is caused by technological modernization and new information processes occurring in chemical, biological, and medical science and practice. To achieve this goal, the authors study the problems arising from the circulation of genomic information and analyze the directions of legal impact on new objects appearing as a result of advances in genomic research. Methods: the methodological framework of the research is based on universal (philosophical), general scientific, specific (including special legal) scientific methods: dialectical, logical, concrete historical, sociological, comparative legal and formal legal. The specificity of the research subject determined the use of the systems approach. Results: we can distinguish three aspects in the analysis of the concept of ‘genome’: functional, informational, axiological. The genome is defined in different ways depending on which of the aspects is chosen; accordingly, different legal means and elements of legal impact are used within each of the aspects. Legal relations being the focus of the legislators' attention have a significant influence on the choice of means of legal impact. Conclusions: today it is necessary to seek solutions on how to legally ensure the establishment, regulation, protection of social relations in the field of genomic research. It is also necessary to supplement the current legislation of the Russian Federation with norms of protective nature that would prohibit employers or other organizations from demanding or requesting genetic tests as a condition for being hired or receiving social benefits.

Abstract:
Purpose While the COVID-19 virus has been spreading worldwide, some studies have related the pandemic with various aspects of accounting and therefore emphasized the importance of accounting research in understanding the impact of COVID-19 on society as a whole. Recent studies have looked into such an impact on various industries such as retail and agriculture. The current study aims at applying a sociological framework, sociology of worth (SOW), to the gaming industry in Macau, the largest operator of state-allowed gambling and entertainment in China, which will allow for its development during the COVID-19 pandemic to be charted. Design/methodology/approach The study uses the theory of SOW as a framework and collects data from various sources, such as the government, gaming operators and the public, to create timelines and SOW frameworks to analyze the impact of the virus on the gaming industry and the society as a whole. Findings Detailed content analysis and the creation of different SOW matrices determined that the notion of a “lonely economy” during a time of a critical event may be ameliorated in the long term through compromises of the different worlds and actors of the SOW. Practical implications Though largely theory-based, this study offers a thorough account of the COVID-19 incident for both the government and the gaming industry to reflect on and to consider new ways to fight against degrowth caused by disasters or crises. Social implications The SOW framework divides society into different worlds of different worths. The current study shows how the worths of the different worlds are congruent during normal periods, and how cracks appear between them when a sudden crisis, such as COVID-19, occurs. The article serves as a social account of how these cracks are formed and how could they be resolved through compromise and reconstruction. Originality/value This study is a first attempt to apply SOW to a controversial industry (gaming) while the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are ongoing. It offers a significant contribution to the social accounting literature through its consideration of the combination of unprecedented factors in a well-timed study that pays close attention to analyses and theoretical elaboration.

Abstract:
Purpose: This article aims to apply to the case of Avianca Airlines the Analytical Model for the Assessment of Airline Expansion Strategies developed by Moreira (2014) in order to explain the rationale of the expansion strategy followed by this airline and indicate other possible expansion strategies. Design/methodology/approach: This article is a case study in the sense that it aims to arrive to broad generalizations based on the collected evidences, focusing on one of the most traditional airlines in the world. This article is a positivist case study, based in the positivist understanding; because it is supported by objective facts of the situation which are informed by the researcher’s interpretive understanding according to it is recommended for this type of study.Findings: The application of the Analytical Model for the Assessment of Airline Expansion Strategies above referred was successful, considering that the model was able to explain a wide range of complex aspects of the Avianca’s development. Thus, being one of the oldest airlines in continued operation in the world, the expansion process of this airline is connected to many political, sociological and economic facets - ie., its general environment - of its mother country, Colombia. The analytical model offered the opportunity to explore these issues in a detailed manner, adding a broader comprehension of this airline that goes beyond its operating and economic analysis.Originality/value: They reside on the fact that this is the first time that this analytical model is applied to study extensively an actual situation. Besides, airlines in Latin America have not been widely covered by the academia and this is an opportunity to begin to fill this gap. Furthermore, the referred analytical model is applicable to organizations or firms that operate in other industries if the proper adjustments are made.Implications: The implications for the academic research are to understand that the reasons for the success or failure of an airline in an expansion process may be explained by the suitability between the expansion strategy followed by this airline, its business model, its operating environment and its general environment. Moreover, this article demonstrates that the analysis of the suitability of the expansion strategy followed by a specific airline may be made in the light of a solidly founded analytical framework.

The objective of this article is to present one of the lineages of human resource management in Poland—industrial sociology. It was within the framework of this subdiscipline that research devoted to the social aspects of industrialization was carried out in the nineteen–sixties and seventies. Studies conducted within the circle of the Cracovian sociologist, Kazimierz Dobrowolski, looked at the industrial centers of Lesser Poland. The primary research question involves the process of the shaping of industrial company personnel in connection with the migration of rural population to industrial centers. The research demonstrated the social and cultural conditions behind this process, not only the impact of the culture of rural communities on shaping work culture in companies, but also the influence of industrial work experience on the life and cultural aspirations of rural communities.

Abstract:
Information and communication technologies have become an integral factor in the daily lives of people over the last decade. Although their usage allows significant advantages, there are still a lot of people in the world who do not use such technologies. In industrialized countries, the reason for this is not in economic factors, but age seems to be a significant determinant of the digital divide. Recently, however, the number of older adults taking advantages of the Internet has been growing. Numerous authors state that a key aspect of successful aging is to remain actively involved in life in old age. In this regard, it is pointed out that online communication and new media present many new opportunities and challenges for the social inclusion of older people. The aim of this paper is to examine the attitudes and opinions of older people towards the use of the Internet and the reasons for its use. The research was conducted using the 2019 survey method on a sample of 240 people over the age of 65 residing in the Šibenik-Knin County in the Republic of Croatia. The results of the survey show that, although more than half of the respondents have an Internet connection, only a fifth own a computer or a laptop. One third of the respondents uses the Internet every day, and most of them did not attend a course to help them use it. They point out that they easily mastered the rules of the network, in which their family members gave them a support and help. Respondents most often search the Internet for the purpose of informing, especially about daily events, then for the entertainment, cultural education and communication with others. More than half of them have a profile on social networks, mostly on Facebook. Despite all this, they do not emphasize the great impact of the Internet on their lives, and believe that the Internet often takes up a lot of free time. Also, more than half of the surveyed population does not use the Internet because they are not interested in it, do not have the financial means to buy a computer. The reason is that they are suspicion of endangering their own security and privacy. However, those not using the Internet state that their accessing to information is not limited because of that. They also point out that the only motivation for starting using the Internet would be the necessity of communicating with their families.

The paper deals with the problem of water pollution in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Considerable water resources are concentrated on the territory of this subject of the Russian Federation. However, providing the population with high-quality drinking water is one of the main regional problems. Water sources are negatively affected by industrial enter-prises. Natural and climatic features of Yakutia also play a significant role. As a result, there is a negative impact of water consumption on human health, pri-marily children’s health. The author of the paper analyzes how this problem manifests itself in urban and rural settlements. It is concluded that ensuring water security is an important component of the security of Yakutia and the national security of Rus-sia. Solving this problem requires an integrated ap-proach and comprehensive research.

Abstract:
The unprecedented increase in the intensity of cross-border interactions in the modern world is emphasised, and the necessity of sociological monitoring of these processes is substantiated, the precondition of which is the creation of an appropriate methodology and methods. The stages of formation of theoretical sociology with particular attention to the genesis of cross-border interactions are considered. It is found that the main milestones in the formation of modern methodological principles of sociological analysis of this phenomenon are the post-classical stage of development of theoretical sociology (according to G. Zborovsky’s periodisation), the methodology of social constructivism, spatial turn and mobility in social development. The work of J. Urry’s sociology of mobility is considered, and its application to the Ukrainian realities is offered. Models of state regulation of cross-border mobility as one of the types of cross-border interactions, defined as the model of “gardener state” and “forest state”, are analysed. It is emphasised that these models had an explanatory power concerning the nation-states of the modern industrial era, but in the era of globalisation distort the understanding of central social processes and phenomena. The author analyzed the views of foreign and Ukrainian researchers on the methodological aspects of research on cross-border interactions. The systematic methodology of cross-border research, proposed by S. Ustych, is used and proposals for its improvement and implementation in research practices are formulated. The author’s position on methodological bases of sociological study of cross-border interactions as a differentiating and solidifying factor is offered.

Abstract:
Abstract The article deals with the issues of technogenesis and the evolution of relations with the environment through the example of the industrial development of the Arctic. The economic, environmental, and social aspects of the behavior of the indigenous population, the migration sentiments of the young people in connection with the implementation of investment projects for the development of the territory are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to identifying the relationship between the migration processes and the industrial development of the Arctic, substantiating the participation of mining companies to improve the socio-economic development of the Russian Arctic, and promoting employment. The subject of the study are the economic and social relations, migration attitudes of the local population, and youth, which arise in the process of the industrial development of the territory in the Arctic. Abstract:
This study aims to analyze gender mainstreaming in student organizations from the basic aspects, student understanding, and policy implementation in several Islamic religious universities. This research is normative-empirical. This study found that implementing gender mainstreaming in student organizations was not optimal from the legal aspect, student understanding, and implementation. From the legal aspect, they have not included a philosophical foundation with the value of gender justice and equality, have not made a wise local academic culture the basis for sociological considerations, and have not included a juridical basis related to the acceleration of gender mainstreaming. From the aspect of student understanding of gender, it is still very low, which is indicated by the composition of the Intra-Campus Student Organization (OMIK) in strategic positions dominated by men. And from the aspect of implementation, it has not been optimal due to among others the commitment of the academic community to the enforcement of gender-responsive policies is still low and the activities in the field of student affairs that are carried out are not based on gender analysis.

Abstract:
The article provides a descriptive characteristics and classification of media support theories as a factor of external influence in conflict situations. In accordance with this goal, groups of neo-Marxist, poststructuralist, and socio-behavioral theories are identified. It is determined that the set of general theoretical postulates of the first group is, firstly, the postulate on the usurpation of media power by political and economic elites who are behind the financing and social patronage of cultural industries. Secondly, the postulate of information distortion, which consists in the fact that monopolizing classes are interested in forming a distorted picture of social reality. Thirdly, the postulate of forming a unified strategy of influence in the media space by power and economic elites, in respect of which media actors are considered mainly as repeaters of discourses. It is determined that a set of general theoretical postulates of the second group is the recognition of linguistic (rhetorical and linguistic) factors of media support as the key ones. Secondly, the consideration of media actors as relatively independent producers of discourses, which have an independent meaning in the sphere of influence in comparison with social groups and institutions. Thirdly, the postulate regarding the positioning of supranational identities through language and the use of a specific (globalistic) vocabulary is of great importance for poststructuralism.

Abstract:
The features of media framing of ideas about the strategically important industrial region for Russia in the American media is discussed in the article. A noticeable increase in foreign journalistic publications covering the problems of the Chelyabinsk region in the period from 2010 to 2021 determines the relevance of studying the generation of meanings about the South Urals as a subject of an open global society. In theoretical and methodological terms, the study is based on the achievements of foreign and domestic discourse studies, cognitive linguistics and the theory of cognitive-discursive world modeling. The material for the analysis was 271 texts selected by continuous sampling from 82 American editions of the last eleven years. The sociological interpretation of frame structures as interpretative schemes is taken as a basis. The concept of representational structure is refined and used to designate the discursive world as a conceptually complex unit of analysis, correlated with the processes and results of representing an industrial region in American media. The frame structures constituting the discursive world are revealed. It has been established that they determine the perception of the region through the prism of a limited set of characteristics included in the macroframes CULTURAL IDENTITY and SECURITY AND PROTECTION. The study contributes to media linguistics, discourse studies, and philological urban studies.

In this article the idenfication of a fashion product, its variability and the analyses of fashion as an industrial design will be discussed within the framework of fashion product marketing. The process of product creation is closely related to the economic, sociological and psychological factors considered, hence, sociologists and trend setters are working together because the concept of fashion product should be viewed as a determiner of status and power of a certain community. Each group within the community should be defined within a certain status and therefore each status corresponds to a relevant fashion concept. The survival of the fashion designers within the industrial sector could only be plausable if fashion is firstly analyzed conceptually and then applied separately to each group of the community.

Abstract:
AbstractFor a long time, sociological analysis of professional work has differentiated professionalism as a special means of organizing work and controlling workers and in contrast to the hierarchical, bureaucratic and managerial controls of industrial and commercial organizations. But professional work is changing and being changed as increasingly professionals (such as doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers) now work in employing organizations; lawyers and accountants in large professional service firms (PSFs) and sometimes in international and commercial organizations; pharmacists in national (retailing) companies; and engineers, journalists, performing artists, the armed forces and police find occupational control of their work and discretionary decision-making increasingly difficult to sustain. This paper begins with a section on defining the field and clarifying concepts. This is followed by a second section on the concept of professionalism, its history and current developments. The third section discusses convergences between Anglo-American and Continental European systems of professions and the general, wider applicability of particular explanatory theories and analytical concepts in the field. Section four examines internationalizing processes affecting professions. Markets for professional services are increasingly international and professional regulation is now a matter for international professional federations as well as national and regional states. The final section provides summary and considers consequences for aspects of professionalism as an occupational value in the global world.

Abstract:
Declared in 1985 by the Soviet leadership headed by Mikhail Gorbachev, the policy of «perestroika» was based on a pecu- liarly understood return to the principles of the reign of V. I. Lenin. The reforms included the process of introducing industrial democracy along the lines of the Yugoslav economy. The election of the management staff of state-owned enterprises should 1) contribute to improving the efficiency of the national economy; 2) extend electoral procedures to the sphere of economic corporations, thus supporting the reform of the political system in the area of transition to competitive elections. The concept of «industrial democracy» is extremely policemen. Western researchers include in its framework very diverse phenomena and processes, from the right of employees to speak out on important management issues, to participate in the management of the enterprise and receive a share of the company's profits. The Soviet reformers of the perestroika period were based on the Yugoslav experience, embodying the philanthropic prin- ciple of «class cooperation» in the process of socialist construction. Moreover, the results of attracting employees to the en- terprise management process were very contradictory. The article considers one of the aspects of this process – sociological research conducted by Soviet researchers at state- owned enterprises. Sociologists studied 1) the attitude of employees to the system of elective leadership; 2) the reaction to the introduction of institutions of industrial democracy; 3) the compliance of the results with the stated goals of the party leadership. As a result, the following main positions were identified: the unwillingness of employees to accept innovations «from above» as an urgent need; the incompetence of employees, including candidates for managers of enterprises and institutions; the preservation of relative inviolability of forms of state ownership, which did not allow the introduction of a new system for managing this property.

Abstract:
This chapter explores Citizenship Education in Malaysia in the context of its current experiences as we approach the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution. As a cultural discourse, the problematic conception of citizenship is a product of social fragmentation in Malaysia. Citizenship can carry two meanings - legal and sociological. The legal simply refers to a subject’s right and duties to be recognized as a legally permanent inhabitant of a state. Secondly, the development of citizenship, understood in sociological terms, would involve a transformative process in which individuals come to see themselves as part of a wider citizen body, to which they owe obligations involving duties as well as having rights. As such, ‘citizenship’ in this chapter refers to an educational process: learning and teaching to improve or achieve the aims inherent to the legal meaning. The objective of this chapter is to pull together citizenship and education as central themes, - not legal but the sociological aspects, with the ‘nations-of-intent’ as a conceptual framework. Nevertheless, the present effort of citizenship education in Malaysia is based on a particular form of ‘nation-of-intent’ (Bangsa Malaysia). As nation-building in Malaysia is a state without a nation (and it has many nations-of-intent), the present effort does not include ideas to the nation when promoting citizenship education- the notion of ‘equality in diversity’ and not only ‘unity in diversity’. The concept of citizenship and citizenship education in Malaysia is prompting only one form of ‘nation-of intent’ available in the country, whereas, there are other nations as well, apparently. An implication of it is that the concept of citizenship and thus, nation-building in Malaysia is still fraught with confusion. The presence of plurality of ‘nations-of-intent’ in contemporary Malaysia demonstrates the fact that dissenting voices are present and heard, within and without government. To some degree, it is necessary, for the underlying reason that the identification and sense of belonging of individuals and communities themselves are fragmented, not necessarily conducive to the knowledge of national unity. Hence, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is a need to clarify and explore the meaning of citizenship in diverse and democratic Malaysian as a nation-state, the multiple views of citizenship and the dimensions of citizenship education.

Abstract:
The main argument to be developed in this article is that such phenomena as war, vandalism and urban ‘terrorism’ are not isolated events, but reflect the values and beliefe embedded in the deep institutional structure of advanced industrial societies. It will be argued that in such societies, however politically patterned, there is a universal, and virtually unequivocal, acceptance of economic growth and expansion as the prime objective to be pursued. As such economic expansion depends on advances in scientific and technological knowledge the control and manipulation of nature is given full legitimacy. This attitude towards nature is seen as a central feature of the industrial culture as a whole and reflects the dominance of material over other human values. And it is the asymmetry between these value systems which predisposes the industrial culture to violence and instability: in short it gives ideological support to the use of violence in the resolution of problems, whether these be of a political, social or economic nature. It will be contended that there is a clear need to go beyond the traditional marxist analysis of capitalism in order to show how the institutional structure of advanced industrial societies plays a part both in stimulating and reproducing the ideology of violence notwithstanding considerable differences in the political arrangements in such societies. It follows from this that what is required is a broad theory of industrialization, rather than specifically of capitalism. As Illich argues, Our present ideologies are useful to clarify the contradictions which appear in a society which relies on the capitalist control of industrial production; they do not, however, provide the necessary framework for analysing the crisis in the industrial mode of production itself. As the writer has argued elsewhere the formulation of such a theory could be enhanced through the establishment of continuities between the thought of radical humanists such as Illich and that of the critical theory of the Frankfurt School. This article reflects an initial attempt to achieve a synthesis of such ideas. In the concluding paragraphs the article will address itself to a key question – what new modes of thinking, what kinds of institutions, are necessary if the ideology of violence is to be transcended? It will be argued here that the possibility of such transcendence depends on the establishment of a new organizing principle – ‘deep ecology’3 – as a basis for the construction of an alternative social reality. In contrast to the prevailing attitude in advanced industrial society which legitimizes humankind's assumed position of dominance and control over all aspects of nature, ‘deep ecology’ lays stress on oneness and interdependence with humankind no longer at the centre of the stage. Through the exploration of the concept of ‘deep ecology’ an attempt will be made to develop an ecological perspective in sociological thought. The consistent failure of sociological theorizing to encompass the ecological debate is a serious disciplinary weakness at a time when there is evidence of a mounting ecological crisis of global proportions. Whilst it is accepted that the thesis presented here cannot claim more than tentative status at this stage, the writer's minimum aims will have been achieved if it acts as a catalyst for the further discussion and development of these ideas within the discipline.

Abstract:
Based on the concept of digital turn in sociology proposed by Professor S.Kravchenko, the authors use the example of specific sociological studies of Russian research centers to conduct a correlation analysis between the digital literacy of the population and its activity in social network communications. Network communications of the population in digital format displace analog formats and contribute to active digital transformations in society as a whole. Digital literacy is considered as an integral indicator that includes information, technical, communication and innovation components. In addition to age and gender differentiation, the level of digital literacy is also influenced by settlement and territorial factors, confirming the existence of an urgent problem of digital inequality. The situation with the ethical side of information literacy is also not clear. This indicator shows how deeply a person reflects on the information found and used. The mass transition to digital technologies observed and actively implemented in the last few years, including their application in network communications, increases not only the innovative, spatial and technological, but also the cognitive distance between generations, not only within the framework of family and interpersonal communications, but also on the scale of industrial, industry and institutional interactions. In today’s digital world, the structural elements of social networks include platforms, online services, or websites designed to build, reflect, and organize people’s social connections. It is the presence of an almost limitless number of information exchanges in social networks that forms a certain system of cybernetic power (cyber power). Cyber power is a complex system of resources structured around the production, exchange, and control of digital information. The cyber power is gradually transformed into a powerful hegemony, i.e., the power of the Internet. a superpower that is not limited to controlling purely cybernetic resources that include structural levels of cyberspace. Not only the communication system is changing, but also the way of thinking, which is becoming an actual subject of research not only for sociologists and psychologists, but also for representatives of many related scientific fields. The concept of a digital turn in sociology, which assumes a humanistic basis for the ongoing transformations, could become a methodological basis for a comprehensive study of the social aspects and consequences of digitalization of modern society.

The aim of the article is to demonstrate the relevance of the usage of sociological knowledge for the development of aviation safety culture through the safety and security, Sociology of Safety and Sociology of Transport as an integral part of applying a systematic approach for strengthening the aviation safety. In the situation of globalization of the world, the structure of sociological knowledge in the XXI century is very branched. However, Ukraine has its own popular list of special and branch sociologies, which meets the specific challenges of the time of modernization of Ukrainian society. The goals of the industrial stage of its development stimulated the formation of Sociology of Labor, changing the focus of the goals of the economy from the basics of planning to market. That gave a powerful impact on the formation of Sociology of the Economics, the market, the individual, and so on. There were not identified the conditions, circumstances that should determine the application of the potential of sociology to comprehend any direction of human activity. Sociologists strive not to lose the integrity of reflection, as social science always gains more power, accumulating both empirical material and theoretical generalizations on significantly different aspects of social life, which can be taken into account in the development of each sociological industry. Therefore, security contains resistance to the Sociology of Safety, Sociology of Technology, Sociology of Transport, etc. Accumulation of such knowledge with necessity leads to synergistic effect and the growth of a culture of safety in aviation.

Precarious employment is becoming more and more widespread in the world and inRussia. It is the destruction of the traditional standard model of employment, labour and social rights of workers to secure and sustainable employment. This is one of the problematic areas of modern social relations, exacerbated by the industrial revolution 4.0, globalization of global relations in all areas and their use in the interests of national and world capital. In the article, the author characterizes the essence of precarious employment and presents the results of a sociological study of precarious employment in a representative group. It allowed expanding the sociological tools of its study and the use of sociological indicators to identify groups of workers in relation to precarious employment. The author also studied the parameters of the specified representative group, clarified the indicators of precarious employment and their quantitative values that identify certain aspects. As a result, the author identified four profiles of contemporary employment inRussia, characterized by increasing signs of precarious employment and gave their comparative characteristics. Further, the author described the differences in socio-demographic, socio-labour and economic characteristics of workers belonging to different profiles of employment. On this basis, the author justified the need to transform labour, civil and other legislation, which would allow more fully using the advantages of standard and flexible employment for employees of various segments of the Russian labour market, ensuring, at the same time, compliance with their labour and social rights.

Many experts believe that in the sociological paradigm an order of community life is dynamic in nature, in accordance with the factors that shape the social construction of the community itself. These factors include those contained in the social order itself, ethnicity, race, religion, culture, type of work, level of education, social status, and other elements. These elements will be an important factor in shaping cultures in society. Included in it is the mainstay culture between elements of society, which is then known as the culture of communication. In terms of general aspects, the classification of society is very diverse. Some are known as peripheral communities, border communities, industrial societies, laborers, even including the academic community. However, in terms of geography or demography, there are two classifications of society, namely rural communities and urban communities. Where in between, inspiration certainly has differences and characteristics of each, especially in the cultural aspects, namely the culture of communication.

Abstract:
The article considers the history of formation of qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches in sociology. The historical reconstruction of the fundamental ideas of representatives of these areas makes it possible to better understand their relationship, to determine the possibilities of their interaction in the study of social reality. In this regard, the article analyses the qualitative and quantitative strategy of sociological research taking into account their ontological, epistemological, axiological and methodological principles. A meaningful analysis of the three «waves», the stages of sociological cognition makes it possible to understand the specifics of the development of sociological knowledge, determine central ideas and values, and better understand the dynamics of the interaction of existing approaches and paradigms. Qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches in social sciences arose almost simultaneously, but their further development was extremely uneven, and their use to study and explain social reality for a long time was not based on the principles of parity interaction. The expansion of the practice of sociological research in a situation of high dynamics of social processes made it possible to increase the level of research culture, the understanding of values and cognitive differences in qualitative and quantitative methodologies made it possible and necessary to use them together. The basis for combining qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches is their functional additionality, which is expressed in the ability to most fully represent various aspects of the study of the same subject area. We are talking about methodological, conceptual triangulation as a strategy for the interaction of qualitative and quantitative approaches in the study of social problems using qualitative and quantitative methods for collecting and analysing sociological information. Such a technique increases the completeness and reliability of the received information, expands research capabilities.

Abstract:
Dominant sociological interpretations of the economic structures of industrial societies have long neglected the role of small scale economic activities. However, current rethinking, stimulated by attempts to explain economic restructuring in the 1980s, appears to offer petty capitalism and self-employment a more important role in the economy. Several versions of economic restructuring theory are examined critically and argued to continue to offer an inadequate account of the role of small scale enterprise in the economy and especially of the social reality of small scale enterprise ownership, organisational patterns and employment. Conceptual and theoretical issues relevant to a more direct focus on small scale economic activities are explored together with a review of studies of a wide range of aspects of such activities. The paper ends by arguing for the continuing importance of small scale economic activities in industrial societies and the need for analyses of economic restructuring and, more fundamentally economic sociology generally, to incorporate a proper recognition of small scale economic activities and self-employment.

Abstract:
In this article presented was the substantiation of the methodology of studying the work environment factors among parents, particularly the mothers, and their influence on the development of allergic diseases in children taking into account the specifics of the working conditions in the agricultural sector. The proposed study algorithm includes investigation of sanitary conditions of labor and adverse industrial factors in women of the reproductive age, employed in the agricultural sector, as well as investigation of the incidence of disease, including allergic disease, among their children. Analysis of variance allows us to quantitatively determine the significance and share impact of the industrial environment factors and of the working process of parents, as well as the of the social and hygienic conditions on the incidence of allergic disease of their children. Complex studies make it possible to determine the clinical and immunological features of allergic diseases in children of agricultural industry workers, to develop and validate the criteria for long-term effects of the factors of professional activity of parents of the agricultural industry on the formation of allergic diseases in children, as well as to determine the proportion of the effect of individual risk factors on the parameters and structure of allergic diseases of preschool children with their isolated and combined effects. The study of the relationship «professional female hazards - allergic diseases of the child» is based on the usage of a united methodological approach, which includes hygienic, sociological, allergological, immunological methods of investigation and makes it possible to determine the significance of occupational exposures of parents in the implementation of mechanisms of allergic diseases development in children and to develop a model of priority measures for improving prevention of allergic diseases in children of agricultural workers.

Abstract:
The research aimed to find out the intrinsic meaning and pragmatic interests of the concept of Compulsory Company Manpower Report (CCMR) and how the principle basis of Law Number 7 Year 1981 affected philosophical validity in realizing industrial relation in accordance with Pancasila. The research applied a qualitative method with textual analysis. The media of research was CCMR, which was one of the minimum macro aspects (work norm) in labor inspection as regulated in Law Number 7 Year 1981 aiming to implement the policy of work opportunity expansion and work protection as mandated by Article 27 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution. The results report the conditions of employment within a company having historical and meaningful substances as the 1945 Constitution states the existence of equality in law and government for every citizen, and each citizen shall uphold the law and government as a manifestation of an active role of citizenship. The applicability of a positive norm cannot be separated from its juridical, sociological, and philosophical requirements. Many opinions reveal that CCMR is only for operational administrative fulfillment. Meanwhile, there is a philosophical basis of CCMR that reaches to the idea about conceptions in work opportunity and labor protection to realize harmonious, dynamic, and fair industrial relations in accordance with Pancasila.

Abstract:
The rise of working-class movements has recently been subjected to a great deal of historical scrutiny. Although this literature treats a variety of topics, much of it is devoted to different aspects of socialism: the radical, reformist, or utopian nature of socialism, the sociological roots of the movement among artisans and industrial workers, and the creation of an alternative, or socialist, subculture. One reason socialism has been investigated so intensively is that historians have assumed that socialism represented the authentic working-class ideology. Implicitly or explicitly, scholars have conveyed the idea that socialism alone promoted class consciousness, that socialism led workers to realize that they formed a distinct group and had to act together to defend their interests. Other movements among workers have been considered to be conservative and, as such, have been discounted as unrepresentative of workers' interests.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article indicates the relevance of the study of media practices of the population with the exit to the formation of relatively stable models of media consumption in the conditions of the reflexive growth of the impact of such a player in the information field as new media. The characteristics of the features of the typologisation and classification of social subjects are given, possible approaches to typologisation and classification are reflected, as well as those contradictions that may arise during the implementation of the designated research procedures. A two-stage scenario for the implementation of the study of media consumption of the population of Belarus with the derivation of social portraits of consumers of traditional and new media finds its justification, the content of these constructs is reviewed. Using a practical example of an independent representative sociological research, the possibilities of factor and cluster analysis in empirical typology using software are demonstrated with a detailed description of the implementation of procedures and proposals for ways to resolve possible difficulties in the course of their application. The author presents and interprets the author’s five-component typology of media consumption models with an exit to the possibility of its application in wide practice with the available array of primary sociological information on the basis of calculating a number of additional indicators. The results obtained can find their application in the sociology of mass communication and the media and are addressed to specialists in the field of sociology of public opinion, theories of the information society, as well as the theory and methodology of sociology.

Abstract:
The ideological foundation of artificial intelligence as a scientific and applied field is an exact epistemology (EE), which is the study of the interaction of the cognizing subject and the corresponding object of cognition through heuristics and reasoning logics that generate new knowledge and its acceptance. Formal means of exact epistemology – languages of knowledge representation and logic of reasoning – and their practical implementation in computer systems provide constructive imitation and strengthening of some aspects of human intelligent activity. The formalization of cognitive activity is extremely in demand in the humanities, in particular, in the sciences of human and society. From the point of view of exact epistemology, a sociological poll – a traditional form of sociological research – is the interaction of the theoretical intelligence (one of the key concepts of EE) of the researcher and the respondents’ common sense. For a correct description of social reality, the question of the respondents’ rational perception of the elements of the questionnaire and the measure of rationality of individuals and their groups is not the last one. The scientific and constructively implemented apparatus of exact epistemology is the JSM-method of automated research support. The method has logical means for presenting opinions, as well as the formal presentation of a closed sociological poll. The instrumental capabilities of the JSM method provide a reasonable acceptance of new knowledge based on an expanded concept of rationality, including rationality as an argued opinion and argumentation, supported by formalized heuristics and the transformation of unclear ideas into precisely defined concepts.

Abstract:
The article was prepared as one of the formats of the review of the monograph “Sociology of Digital Society” (Vasilenko & Meshcheryakova, 2021) as part of the implementation of a comprehensive sociological study conducted with the financial support of Russian Fond for Basic Research, grant 20-011-00694 “Public Administration”. The authors consider interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological foundations for the formation of a digital society. The defining feature of the new stage of social development is hybridization, which implies the interpenetration of the real and virtual worlds, in which the existence of a significant part of society has become equivalent. They justify the fundamental changes that are taking place in a digital society in all key aspects of public life: the transition to a platform economy, a change in the social structure characteristic of industrial society, a new nature of production attitudes and management styles.
