Full textIn the automotive industry, several robots are required to simultaneously carry out welding sequences on the same vehicle. Assigning and coordinating welding tasks between robots is a manual and challenging phase that must be optimized using automatic tools. The cycle time of the cell strongly depends on different robotic factors such as the task allocation among the robots, the configuration solutions, and obstacle avoidance. Moreover, a key aspect, often neglected in the state-ofthe- art, is to define a strategy to solve the robotic task sequencing with an effective robot-robot collision avoidance integration. This thesis is motivated by solving this industrial problem and seeks to raise different research challenges. It begins by presenting the current state-of-the-art solutions regarding robotic planning. An in-depth investigation is carried out on the related existing academic/industrial solutions to solve the robotic task sequencing problem, particularly for multi-robot systems. This investigation helps identify the challenges when integrating several robotic factors into the optimization process. An efficient iterative algorithm that generates a high-quality solution for the Multi-Robotic Task Sequencing Problem is presented. This algorithm manages not only the mentioned robotic factors but also aspects related to accessibility constraints and mutual collision avoidance. In addition, a home-developed planner (RoboTSPlanner) handling six-axis robots has been validated in a real case scenario. In order to ensure the completeness of the proposed methodology, we perform optimization in the task, configuration, and coordination space in a synergistic way. Compared to the existing approaches, both simulation and real experiments reveal positive results in terms of cycle time and show the ability of this method to be interfaced with both industrial simulation software and ROS-I tools

Full textIndustrial production is currently determined by global competition and the need to adapt the production quickly to changing market demands. These requirements can only be met by radical advancements in the current manufacturing technologies. Industry 4.0 is an interesting approach based on the integration of business and manufacturing processes. The objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology of maintenance 4.0 to break the trade-offs of old strategies by allowing companies to maximize the useful life of their production equipment while avoiding unplanned downtime, by combining vibration analysis and pattern recognition methods to detect and track the degradation of a defect. Two methodologies proposed IRT-OPTICS (Improved Real-Time Ordering Points To Identify the Clustering Structure) and AOC-OPTICS (Automatic Online Classification monitoring based on OPTICS), based on the unsupervised pattern recognition method. These methods should lead to autonomous surveillance. They aim to detect the malfunctions of rotating machines and to monitor the evolution of this malfunction. This starts with the extraction of three types of indicators (scalar, time-frequency, time-scale), followed by a dimensional reduction in a visual space, representing the presence of defects in the bearing. The next step is to follow the evolution of the degradation using five parameters: Davies-Bouldin index, Calinski-index, jump from the centre of the class, density, contour

Full textTextile manufacturing plays an important role in the world economy. While the globally increasing competition is stressing the textile companies to promote the manufacturing flexibility, as a trend of intelligent manufacturing in Industry 4.0, the future development of the textile manufacturing process will increasingly rely on shorter cycle and higher quality. However, the complicated intricate relationship between the large-scale parameter variables from a variety of textile processes makes it seem incredibly difficult. In order to overcome these issues, intelligent techniques are employed in this thesis to promote textile manufacturing from the process modeling and optimization. In this Ph.D. research, a thorough investigation and literature review regarding the previous studies on modeling and optimization of the textile manufacturing process using intelligent techniques. A series of the summarizations were determined in pros and cons, which provided a theoretical foundation and research direction for the subsequent studies. Three sub-studies thus were developed: A specific case study on textile ozonation process modeling using extreme learning machine (ELM), support vector regression (SVR) and random forest (RF) was developed, where the SVR models and RF models were found that both can well address the uncertain interrelationships of variables in the textile process modeling with less training data, but their requirement on training time is different. On the basis of the established RF models, a novel multi-criteria decision support system was then developed for textile optimization with the collaboration of the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and the Deep Q-networks (DQN) algorithm, where the textile process is formulated as the Markov decision process (MDP) paradigm, and the application result showed that it can master the challenging decision-making tasks in the textile manufacturing process. To better address the growing complexity in this issue, the application of this developed system is further integrated into a multi-agent system for multi-objective optimization in the textile manufacturing process. The developed systems can optimize the textile process and help companies maintain competence in the trend of intelligent manufacturing in the textile industry

Full textFor flexible job-shop and pharmaceutical flow-shop scheduling problems resolution, two optimization methods are considered: a genetic algorithm one using a new proposed coding and a particle swarm optimization one modified in order to be used in discrete cases. The criteria retained for the considered packaging lines in pharmaceutical industries multi-objective problems are production cost minimization and total stopping cost minimization. For the flexible job-shop scheduling problems treated, the criterion taken into account is Makespan minimization. These two methods have been applied to various work-shops with distinct complexities to show their efficiency. After comparison of these methods, the obtained results allowed us to notice the efficiency of the based particle swarm optimization method in terms of convergence and reaching optimal solution
