Abstract:
This study aimed at analyzing the use of code mixing on Instagram by the students of English Language Education Department which covered the types and the reasons of using code mixing. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative study which only focused on describing Indonesian-English code mixing used by ELE students. The participants of this study were the fourth semester students of English Language Education Department at Ganesha University of Education. The data were collected by observing the participants’ Instagram account and interviewing the participants through Google Form. The data were analyzed using the combination of some theories. Hoffman, Ho, and Muysken’s theories were combined and used to analyze the types of code mixing. Meanwhile, to analyze the reason of using code mixing, Hocket, Hoffman, and Saville-Troike’s theories were used. The result showed that most of the participants used intra-sentential type of code mixing with 107 occurrences (56%) from the total of 191 data. The result also showed that need filling motive was the reason mostly chosen by 21 (43,8%) out of 48 participants.

Hager, Ed. "Marine seismic triple source case studies from the Asia–Pacific region." APPEA Journal 58, no. 2 (2018): 816. http://dx.doi.org/10.1071/aj17131.

Abstract:
There has been a rapid uptake on the idea of using multiple sources in marine seismic data acquisition because of the additional flexibility the technique offers in survey design based not only on geophysical quality, but also for health, safety and environment (HSE) and efficiency. This paper examines three case studies conducted in Australia and Indonesia covering aspects of the advantages. An important consideration in survey design is efficiency, and multisource designs improve this by allowing wider spreads to be towed, so more data is acquired per vessel pass. In turn, HSE exposure is decreased by reducing survey times and by reducing the amount of in-sea equipment. The Trepang Survey carried out for Ophir Energy offshore West Papua was designed for efficiency, but the HSE aspect came to the fore when large amounts of floating debris (several hundred tree trunks) were found in the path of the survey vessel. By reducing the acquisition time, the risk the timber posed was minimised. The Cygnus survey in the Vulcan sub-basin is an example of where the multisource technique increased quality by improving the cross-line resolution and increasing fold without decreasing efficiency. Bianchi and Hockey were two surveys in the same area and, because the surveys were small, they were inefficient to acquire because much of the time was spent on line changes. The operator Quadrant used the fact that a triple-source design would allow for symmetrical bins to be acquired and joined the two small surveys together: effectively two sets of line change times were turned into acquisition time.

Abstract:
Abstract The aims of this thesis are to figure out the techniques and process of translation of English idiom into Indonesian Language. The data were taken from a Novel by Sidney Sheldon entitled “Bloodline” and its translation Garis Darah. The collected data was analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative methods. The data of this study were collected by identifying and classifying the data based on the idioms and translation procedures by using Hocket (1958). Another theory is from Vinay & Dalbernet’s (1995) and also supported by a theory proposed by Catford (1978). Through classification based on the theory there are three types of idioms, they are English phrasal compound that is divided into three parts such as the close form, the hyphenated form and the open form; figure of speech that is divided into four parts such as simile, hyperbole, metaphor, and personification; and slang. All types of idioms are applied in this thesis and it is found there are 289 data. The close form is 3, the hyphenated form is 16, the open form is 11, simile with 42 data, metaphor and personification are 26, hyperbole is 33, and slang is 132 data. On the other hand, there are seven techniques of translation according to the theory, they are borrowing, calque, literal, transposition, modulation, adaptation, and equivalence. All techniques are applied in this thesis. The most dominant translation technique that is applied in this thesis is adaptation with the percentage of 33,5% (97 data), the second is literal with 33,2% (96 data), modulation and equivalence has same percentage as 10,3% (30 data), transposition is 9,3% (27 data), borrowing with 2,76% (8 data), and the last is calque with 0,34% (1 data). Keywords: techniques of translation, idiomatic expression, languages

Abstract:
This study discusses the variation of Malay isolects in South Sumatra dealing with phonological and lexical variation. This sudy used diachronic dialectology approach. The data were gathered by the method of conversation with interview techniques using the questionnaires of Research on Cognates and Mapping of Regional Language in Indonesia. The interview was conducted on informants from 21 villages. The vocabulary evidences are described in the form of sound variations and correspondences as well as the types of sound changes based on the framework as performed by Lehman, Hock, and Crowley. Dialectometry and lexicostatistics were used to determine the status of language and cognates between the isolects. The research findings showed that there were phonological and lexical correspondences in vocals and consonants. Sound variations found in this study were caused by morphophonemic and nasalization processes. Sound changes in the form of metathesis, mergers, epenthesis, aphaeresis, syncope, and apocope were also found along with Van der Tuuk correspondence rules in the form of sound variation r~l, d~l and other variations, such as l~t, h~l, d~n, and h~s. The sound correspondences and variations showed the riches of dialectal variation as a characteristic of Malay isolects in South Sumatra, which derived from the same language, i.e. the Malay. The result of lexicostatistics and dialectometry analysis strengthened the interdialect cognates and the same language status between the isolects.

Abstract:
There are many methods to measure the physical fitness of athletes, including tests that can be applied in the field or in the laboratory. Much of the recent research with regard to fitness of team sport players has been undertaken using laboratory testing to measure aerobic power, anaerobic power and capacity, strength and flexibility. Field tests are an alternative method to measure the fitness of players without the expense, time and expertise required for the laboratory testing, especially in developing countries. The purpose of this study is to establish procedures for the application of contemporary sports science practice for Indonesian female field hockey players, including determination of the precision of field tests of the physical and performance characteristics of field hockey players in Indonesia; determination of the physical and performance characteristics of Indonesian female field hockey players; identification of the performance demands and distance covered during competitive field hockey at the national level in Indonesia; comparison of the physical and performance characteristics of national level female field hockey players in Indonesia with those of club level players in Australia; and determination of the relationships between field and laboratory tests of physiological performance capacity for field hockey. Due to conversion problems, five paragraphs have been omitted. For full abstract, see 01front.pdf. In conclusion, the present study found that the Indonesian female field hockey players (at the national level) were comparable to the Australian female field hockey players (at the club level) in some physical and performance test results. However, they were also different on other physical and performance characteristic measurements, with the Indonesian players generally have lower values, for other performance measurements.

Abstract:
Chapter 7 discusses a second berimbau orchestra: the Dainho Xequerê Orchestra of Tuned Berimbaus (OBADX), led by the capoeira Contramestre Dainho Xequerê. With a more eclectic and inclusive approach than the Nzinga orchestra, OBADX keeps a greater distance from capoeira aesthetics, fuses various genres, including pieces of the so-called common practice period (e.g., Ravel’s Bolero), and, crucially, tunes its berimbaus to create melodies in hocket, much in the same way as British and US American handbell choirs, the Central African Republic’s banda linda horn ensembles, or Indonesian angklung groups function. In doing so, OBADX challenges the themes of African rhythmicity and percussiveness, asserting the importance of African melody and harmony in diasporic creation.
