Abstract:

Abstract:
1988), I tre cosmonauti (1966, rev.

Abstract:

Abstract:

AbstractDoctor of Philosophy, Medicine and Divinity, Nobel laureate (1953), Albert Schweitzer embodied an indisputable ethical and intellectual authority that was universally admitted. However, in his book,Indian Thought and its Development(1936), the so-called “good doctor” engaged in an incredible eulogy of Western superiority at the expense of Indian thought. The pieces of evidence he used to support this argument can now be compared to the thoroughly ambiguous attitude he displayed toward the Africans among whom he had lived in Lambaréné.

Abstract:
Abstract: People who are visually impaired face great difficulties in recognizing banknotes for day-to-day transactions as the texture and shape of many banknotes are very similar. Also, the Indian currency system does not have a separate banknote in circulation that might help people who are visually disabled. This paper presents a real-time Indian currency detection system for visually impaired persons. The proposed work makes use of the vision-based system to facilitate the visually impaired people to prosperously recognize banknotes. In this paper, a recognition system is implemented by making use of various machine learning and deep learning approaches which can produce an accuracy of up to 90%. In this system, totally two experiments are carried out on the banknote’s image. The first one is the analysis of the different regions of the banknote, the second experiment is the examination of the banknote image which was captured using a camera in a regulated environment. Our system is extended to support the visually impaired people by executing a “Voice-based assistance system” which would help us in giving the voice output. This system can identify all the seven banknotes used in India and exhibit the result with both textual and auditory output. People who are visually impaired will be able to easily use it in daily transactions.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Any power system network is subjected to disturbances at any time and place. It is considered as one of the most stochastic system ever seen by the human beings. To enhance the power system reliability, System Protection Scheme (SPS) is an effective tool for utilizing the power grid during rare contingencies. This method is often employed as secondary protection schemes. SPS is also termed as Special Protection Scheme. SPS is referred with different names by different users such as IEEE as System Integrity Protection Scheme (SIPS), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) as Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) and WECC and others as SPS. In India, only in late 90s, the concept of SPS was introduced to solve the above problem. In Indian power grid different SPS has been designed and implemented successfully. This paper presents a complete knowledge, need , general structure, characteristics and a brief description of the major SPS employed in various Indian Power grids. Post - commissioning performance of these SPS has also been analyzed briefly. Finally, highlights of major issues involved with the employment of SPS in the Indian scenario.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The sign language is the essential communication method between the deaf and dumb people. In this paper, the authors present a vision based approach which efficiently recognize the signs of Indian Sign Language (ISL) and translate the accurate meaning of those recognized signs. A new feature vector is computed by fusing Hu invariant moment and structural shape descriptor to recognize sign. A multi-class Support Vector Machine (MSVM) is utilized for training and classifying signs of ISL. The performance of the algorithm is illustrated by simulations carried out on a dataset having 720 images. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach can successfully recognize hand gesture with 96% recognition rate.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Many Indians were taken by surprise, anger, and dismay by severalthousand South Indian untouchables when they converted to Islam in 1981-82.Hindu chauvinists violently reacted and formed the Vishva Hindu Prishadwhich later occupied the famous mosque built by the first Mughul ruler ofIndia, Babur. Since then many attempts have been made to analyze the causesof the mass conversion which still continues, although not in large numbers.Abdul Malik's book carefully examines the regional and local causes as wellas the consequences of this mass conversion to Islam. Malik explains theelements of the complex social matrix in which the untouchables usedconversion as a "conscious and articulate protest" against a cruel and unjustcaste system. This unique study provides a thorough sociological perspectivethat deepens our understanding of more than 200 million untouchables of India.Malik explains, in the first chapter, the methodological and theoreticalbasis as well as the framework of his study. He raises relevant questionsthat have been answered in the latter part of the book, questions such as:Why did the untouchables resort to the extreme measure of conversion? Werethe conversions isolated cases or were they part of a long-term strategy? Whywas Islam as a religion chosen? Malik suggests that the main variables inthe process of conversion were the untouchables’ “aggressive and assertivebehavior.” While developing his own thesis, Malik carefully examines similarstudies by political sociologists such as Feierbend, Gum, Grimshaw, Niebuhrand others. He critically evaluates their work and draws meaningful similarities.Yet he establishes a more comprehensive framework by redefining many termssuch as violence and psychological violence in the context of the untouchables’conversion to Islam. The second, third, and fourth chapters provide a detailed understandingof the caste system that is the core of Indian politics, the economic, social, political, and cultural milieu of the untouchables, the pervasiveness ofuntouchability in the Indian society, the nature of violence against theuntouchables, and the helplessness of ’the untouchables in dealing with thepolitical power that is embedded in the caste hierarchy of the social systemin India ...

Abstract:
Indian economy depends heavily on its agriculture system. Horticulture sector has a major share in Indian agrarian economy. Therefore for agriculture industry to grow, the effective growth and improved yield of fruits is necessary. Diseased fruit production lays down various sensitive issues that can create various crises including reduced exports. To tackle such situations farmers need manual monitoring of fruits in all the development phases till harvest. But manual monitoring may not always give satisfactory results, owing to the subjective nature of the process. In order to reduce this stress, the technological support for such monitoring of fruit diseases was introduced. Image processing is one of the widely accepted areas for fruit disease detection and classification. With accurate disease diagnosis, the proper control actions can be taken at appropriate time. This paper is intended to aid in the analysis of various techniques and methodologies used in fruit disease detection so far.
