Abstract:

Abstract:
(Clinical_Management)

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The paper deals with problematic nature of measuring of process performance. It includes a designed procedure of process performance monitoring, evaluation of logistic processes quality, and also measuring of the impact of marketing activities on the profitability of process output, i.e. a product, by means of appropriate indicator. There are several performance indicators that companies use to monitor the performance of their processes and business strategies with respect to their objectives. To monitor these indicators, enterprises rely on dashboards that present one or more indicators along with contextual information to help decision makers identify deviations and their root causes. Associated benefits related to the process performance measurement system can be seen, for example, in better decision-making, flexible human resource management and process management structures. By using rolled steel sheets in a large metallurgical plant as an example, there will be shown how the performance of the rolling process can be improved by monitoring the tangible financial indicator. Subsequently, the experience was from case management companies presented to further incorporate a practical view of implementation and related issues. Finally, the reasons why the organization prefers the observed indicator during implementation of the process performance of measurement system is explored in order to understand the causes and consequences.

Despite advances in the sexual violence (SV) prevention field, practitioners still face challenges with identifying indicators to measure the impact of their prevention strategies. Public data, such as existing administrative and surveillance system data, may be a good option for organizations to examine trends in indicators for the purpose of program evaluation. In this article, we describe a framework and a process for identifying indicators with public data. Specifically, we present the SV Indicator Framework and a five-step indicator review process, which we used to identify indicators for a national SV prevention program. We present the findings of the indicator review and explain how the process could be used by evaluators and program planners within other developing topic areas. Tracking indicators with public data, in conjunction with other evaluation methods, may be a viable option for state-level program evaluations. We discuss limitations and implications for practice and research.

Abstract:
The technological efficiency of the coal washing process is traditionally assessed by the correlation between the practically achieved results of this coal washing at a coal dressing plant and the theoretically possible ones defined by the laboratory testing to define the coal washability. However, the laboratory assessment of coal washability is a labor-intensive process and cannot be used for on-line control. The article considers the possibility of introducing a performance evaluation indicator using parameters traditionally defined in operational control schemes. This indicator is based on the well-known function of qualitative process evaluation based on several parameters, i.e. the Harrington's desirability function. The proposed efficiency indicator was calculated based on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of washing thirty different coals using the conventional processing scheme. Evaluation of the proposed efficiency indicator was made by comparing it with the traditionally used efficiency indicators. The evaluation results showed that the proposed indicator is more informative, because it also allows to take into account the compliance of the ash content during washing with the specified parameter, as well as to evaluate the efficiency of the washing process more objectively than the traditionally used clean coal yield indicator. Within a given ash content of the clean coal there exists a correlation with the performance indicators recommended for assessment of the washing efficiency. Given the specific features of the desirability function, the indicator makes it possible to qualitatively assess the coal washing process and determine the optimal value..

Abstract:
Sustainable manufacturing has renewed attention among researchers to address various sustainability challenges in manufacturing industries. Sustainability assessments of manufacturing organizations help minimize the negative environmental impact and enhance reputation among public and regulatory agencies. To assess the sustainability of the manufacturing process; it is indispensable to investigate the structured set of triple bottom line (3BL) indicators. Moreover, there is no comprehensive and structured set of 3BL indicators that can effectively assess the sustainability of any organization’s manufacturing process. This research aims to identify and prioritize experts’ consensus structured set of 3BL indicators. The 3BL indicators were identified through an open-ended questionnaire. The prioritization was performed through the Best-Worst Scaling (BWS) approach. Further, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) method was utilized to draw the consensus ranking of sustainability indicators in manufacturing. The findings indicated that the release of greenhouse/harmful gas is the best indicator in the perspective of environmental criteria followed by the rate of contribution to society and operational cost are the most important critical indicator in the case of social and economic sustainability criteria. The outcome of the present study will facilitate researchers and practitioners in developing suitable readiness and operational plans for the sustainability assessment of the manufacturing process.

Abstract:
248 Background: Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast accounts for ~30% of new breast cancer diagnoses. Measuring quality of DCIS treatment is problematic due to its distinctively different clinical behaviour from invasive breast carcinoma, where standard outcomes such as mortality are not relevant. Therefore, we sought to develop clinically relevant quality indicators to evaluate treatment of DCIS. Methods: A Delphi consensus process was undertaken using a multidisciplinary panel of nine clinical and methodologic experts from Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. Panel members were nominated based on membership in provincial breast tumour site groups. Four criteria for a good quality indicator were used; the indicator measures a treatment that benefits the patient, there is support from scientific literature or professional consensus for benefit; the indicator is under control of the health care provider, the indicator is extractable from the medical record. Candidate indicators were identified from published clinical practice guidelines in North America. Three iterations of ratings using Likert scale rankings were utilized to identify final quality indicators, which were then prioritized. Results: A total of 10 candidate indicators were identified from four clinical practice guidelines encompassing the diagnosis, surgery and adjuvant treatment components of DCIS. A total of eight indicators were identified and prioritized (Table). Conclusions: We successfully developed practical quality indicators for evaluating the treatment of DCIS, which can be used in any jurisdiction to measure key performance benchmarks and identify variations in care warranting intervention or improvement. Abstract:
The article considers the main approaches to the rehabilitation ability of construction companies, which should be identified based on a set of individual aspects of the construction company as a participant in investment and construction project and identification of synergetic properties to restore financial stability based on a holistic approach to such assessment. The purpose of this article is to identify the factors that should ensure the rehabilitation ability of the enterprise in the long run. Four groups of indicators can signal in advance the rehabilitation ability state of the construction company. These are indicators that characterize: rehabilitation ability of staff (rehabilitation ability of the project team, rehabilitation potential of staff) (К1); rehabilitation ability of the existing business model for the period of evaluation of the construction company (К2); rehabilitation favorability of environment of the investment and construction project (К3); rehabilitation potential of the construction company (К4). Identification of construction companies rehabilitation ability level is proposed to be carried out based on the calculation of the cumulative indicator, which is determined in six stages: 1) analysis of the dynamics of individual indicators of enterprise activity; 2) calculation and analysis of pairwise correlation coefficients between each of the cumulative indicators of rehabilitation ability and a set of indicators; 3) forming of four local correlation-regression models of the cumulative indicators’ dependence on the most influential explanatory factors from the set formed at the previous step; 4) creating a comprehensive cumulative indicator of the rehabilitation ability of the construction company I; 5) calculation and analysis of pairwise correlation coefficients between each of the cumulative indicators of rehabilitation ability as an explanatory factor and the cumulative indicator of rehabilitation ability I; 6) construction of a correlation-regression model of dependence of I on indicators from the set. Then all created models are combined into a single tool that can detect the threat of bankruptcy of the construction company, taking into account the functional-informational, financial, operational links between the participants of the construction in investment and construction projects. Assessing the rehabilitation ability of construction companies based on four aspects of development success (staff, business model, development project environment, and competitiveness factors) not only identify the strengths and weaknesses of participants of construction project but also identify areas of priority for control, correction and other rehabilitation actions for participants in development projects.

Abstract:
Companies that implement Integrated Management Systems (IMS) require approaches that optimize resources and results. In the case of IMS of a new or emerging nature, the use of dynamics risk analysis approaches and the integration of real-time monitoring data in the risk assessment process offers news perspectives. The objective of this work is to identify and classify leading indicators that facilitate the dynamic analyses of emerging risks in an IMS for quality, environment, and safety. For it, such indicator analysis has been based on a bibliographic analysis. Regarding results, firstly, a structure of indicators emerges configured of three categories organized in two levels. At the first level, it is established by the indicators of the IMS which can be integrated. The second level is configured of two categories of interrelated indicators, that is, process integrity indicators and occupational risks indicators. In turn, each of these three categories has two dimensions. The first dimension represents the direction of the indicator, leading or lagging indicator. The second dimension represents the risk nature, emerging or traditional risk. Secondly, a classification of the leading indicators is derived according to the categories of the indicators and the risk nature. This classification shows the direction of the leading indicators as well as qualitative graduation of the potential associated consequences. Said theoretical framework has been applied to a case study configured by a manufacturing process. Thus, a conceptual scheme has been developed that represents the first step towards a more in-depth and detailed development that allows the identification and definition of specific leading indicators within an IMS from a dynamic and emerging risk perspective.

Abstract:
The ongoing digital transformation is being undertaken by the financial institutions on the upgrade in China. The risks are accumulated synchronously in the middle of establishing differentiated competitive advantages through information technology innovations by the new fintech institutions. In this study, a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process is adopted to figure out the risk evaluation of the new fintech institutions in China, identifying those at risk as early as possible. Firstly, several level 1 indicators of the risk evaluation system of the new fintech institutions and corresponding subordinate level 2 indicators are determined, followed by rating the level 2 indicators of each new fintech institution ready for risk evaluation ranking, which leads to the risk evaluation matrix of each level 1 indicator. Secondly, the new fintech institutions are classified into the theoretically ideal “optimal,” “medium,” and “worst” categories by establishing the membership matrix of each level 1 indicator in the application of linear transformation formula. Thirdly, the degree of proximity is exploited in comparison of the fuzzy sets in pairs to form the fuzzy recognition model of each level 1 indicator in pursuit of the new fintech institutions least risky regarding each level 1 indicator. Finally, the fuzzy recognition models of each level 1 indicator are integrated into the construction of the fuzzy recognition model regarding the whole risk evaluation system to achieve the risk ranking of the new fintech institutions. This study aimed to provide a theoretical ground and an applied method for national regulators to monitor the fintech risks, which are prone to be avoided by the enterprises and individuals.

Abstract:
Introduction:In decision-making processes, health technology assessment (HTA) plays an important role ensuring the adoption of effective technologies and translating scientific evidence into decisions. Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital developed a new method which integrates EUnetHTA Core Model with multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) enabling decision makers to make a more informed decision between different alternatives. This approach quantifies assessment parameters, which are defined by literature evidence, or by expert opinion when lacking such evidence. MCDA results (i.e. decision tree of assessment elements, weighting systems and numerical values of technology’ performance) are derived from expert judgement. This means that indicators are weighed by the same weight system; either they are supported by strong literature evidence or otherwise based on expert opinion. The objective of this work is to use the GRADE approach to weight the relevance of each indicator starting from its source of information because different level of evidence should result in different weights. Methods:A GRADE level was associated with each judgement value of performance indicators and a normal probability function was built with the standard deviation inversely proportional to GRADE level to describe the possible dispersion of the judgement due to the different levels of evidence that support each indicator. The higher the GRADE value, the lower the associated standard deviation. A Monte Carlo simulation was carried out to evaluate the expected value of technology’ performance modulated by GRADE level. Results:Four Gaussian distributions were built and associated to four GRADE levels. When an indicator has a low GRADE level, its performance value will vary in a broader way according to the linked Gaussian distribution. Conclusions:This study showed the importance of applying the GRADE system to indicators’ sources of information because this can modify the overall computation of parameter weights and performance, proportionally to their robustness.

Abstract:
Production process sustainability refers to a manufacturing system in which manufacturing industries produce products in a sustainable way. In recent years, sustainability has become a major concern and challenge for manufacturing systems because of growing consciousness of the effects of their activities on the environment, society, and economy. Different organizational reports and the academic literature have proposed indicators of sustainable manufacturing that help to measure product and process sustainability. However, little of the previous research is related to employee-activity based indicators for production process sustainability. To bridge the gap, this study identified a set of indicators of production process sustainability based on direct and indirect impacts of manufacturing activities on employees, who are key resources in the entire production process, for efficiently applying a sustainability perspective. In addition, the paper provides an evaluation model for selecting relatively important indicators based on expert opinions. A fuzzy Delphi method was applied for the screening process of the decision makers (experts). A Delphi questionnaire prepared with a nine-point linguistic scale corresponding to respective linguistic variables was utilized to assess expert opinions on the importance of each indicator. These expert opinions were aggregated for each indicator by using an adopted algorithm that considers the degree of importance allocated to the decision makers, and the similarity and distance among decision maker opinions. Lastly, the key employee-activity based indicators were chosen based on the threshold value set.

Abstract:
This driver behavior assessment model discusses the expertise of public transport drivers based on the national Work Qualification with graduate competency standards (SKL). Graduate competency standards have parameters, namely competence, competency elements and graduation indicators. From these three parameters, the competency unit is abbreviated as UK, the competency element is abbreviated as EK, and the graduation indicator is abbreviated as IK. Assessment of the first competency unit is upon attitudes and values, the second competency unit is upon the ability in the field of work, the third competency unit isupon the area of knowledge mastered and the fourth competency unit is upon the rights and responsibilities. The first competency unit has 6 competency elements and 6 graduation indicators, the second competency unit has 27 competency elements and 41 graduation indicators, the third competency unit has 6 competencies and 11 graduation indicators, the fourth competency unit has 2 competency elements and 4 graduation indicators. The first unit is abbreviated as UK1, the first competency element is abbreviated as EK1, while for the first indicator of graduation is abbreviated as IK1. The combination of UK1, EK1 and IK1 becomes UK1EK1. The combination of the first competency unit becomes the first competency element and combined to become the first graduation indicator then becomes UK1IK1, and so do the next competency unit up to the fourth competency unit. The completion stages of this discussion is carried out in four steps, namely problem identification, model design, implementation and system evaluation. The calculation process uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).

Abstract:
The article deals with the actual issue of arranging the process and the system of cartographic support. The authors generalize production and publication of cartographic products only. Within the framework of issuing, the process of production and publishing cartographic products is considered as functioning of a purposeful cartographic support system. During these studies, the vector of production process quality indicators results and publishing cartographic products is justifi ed. The proposed indicators enable predicting the results of the process under consideration. Based on the vector of quality indicators, the operational functional connecting the performance indicator with the cost of resources and time is justifi ed. The purposeful process’ of producing and publishing cartographic products deterministic model is proposed. With its use the simulation was performed. The results help determining the mapping support system contents based on the tasks set.

Abstract:
Most research on wastewater treatment efficiency compliance focuses on physicochemical and microbial indicators; however, very little emphasis has been placed so far on determining suitable indicator organisms to predict the discharge level of pathogens from treatment plants. In this study, raw wastewater, activated sludge, and the resulting final effluents and biosolids in four municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs A, B, C and D) were seasonally investigated for human-virulent water-borne pathogens Cryptosporidium parvum/hominis and Giardia duodenalis, and microsporidia (e.g. Encephalitozoon hellem, E. intestinalis, and Enterocytozoon bieneusi) between 2008 and 2009. A suite of potential microbial indicators for human-virulent protozoa and microsporidia was also determined. A combination of multiple fluorescent in situ hybridization and immunofluorescent antibody assays were applied to detect Cryptosporidium oocysts, Giardia cysts, and microsporidian spores. Escherichia coli, enterococci and Clostridium perfringens spores were cultivated in selective media. Positive correlations were found between the abundance of enterococci and E. coli and abundance of Cryptosporidium oocysts (rs > 0.47, p < 0.01) and Giardia cysts (rs > 0.44, p < 0.01) at WWTPs A–D. Cryptosporidium perfringens spores were positively correlated to Cryptosporidium oocysts (rs = 0.40, p < 0.01) and Giardia cysts (rs = 0.46, p < 0.01). There was a strong positive correlation between abundance of Giardia cysts and that of Cryptosporidium oocysts (rs > 0.89, p < 0.01). To sum up, a suite of faecal indicator bacteria can be used as indicators for the presence of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts in these activated-sludge systems (WWTPs A, B and C). Overall, Giardia duodenalis was noted to be the best Cryptosporidium indicator for human health in the community-based influent wastewater and throughout the treatment process.

Abstract:
The article presents possibility of defects detection from milling time series using nonlinear methods: recurrence plots and recurrence quantifications. The defects are modeled as the holes with different diameters and depths. This allows estimation of the minimal size of defect possible to detect. Based on the conducted research, it has been shown that some of the recurrence indicators enable detection of defects. These recurrence indicators have been tested on the reals damage. Additionally, we show influence of the defect depth on the recurrence indicator values.

Abstract:
City growth and its resulted environmental issues are promoting a citywide application of sustainable steel structures. However, designers and constructors often hold conflicting perspectives on the sustainable construction of steel structures, which has been identified as a barrier to achieve sustainability in this area. Given that the existing sustainability indicator systems of steel structures are either design-oriented or construction-driven, this study aims to develop a new one by synthesizing both designers’ and contractors’ opinions in the development of such indicators. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to identify potential indicators. A questionnaire survey was then used to collect the viewpoints of designers and constructors on the identified indicators. Finally, a fuzzy set algorithm and hierarchical clustering were employed to detect the indicators’ relationships. The results present a three-dimensional indicator system composed of social-technical sustainability, greenness, and economic sustainability. Furthermore, it is found that designers and constructors have discrepant opinions on social-technical sustainability and greenness, while their views on economic sustainability are similar. The research findings provide managerial hints to the attainment of sustainable steel structures and enhance stakeholders’ understanding of design-and-construction integration in steel structure projects.
