Abstract:
The toxigenic Inaba serotype of Vibrio cholerae O1 biotype El Tor reappeared in India in 1998 and 1999, almost 10 years after its last dominance in Calcutta in 1989. Extensive molecular characterization by ribotyping, restriction fragment length polymorphism, and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis indicated that recent Inaba strains are remarkably different from the earlier Inaba strains but are very similar to the prevailing V. choleraeO1 Ogawa El Tor biotype strains. The antibiograms of the Inaba strains were also similar to those of the recent V. cholerae Ogawa strains. These V. cholerae O1 Inaba strains appear to have evolved from the currently prevailing Ogawa strains and are likely to dominate in the coming years.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Development of Vibrio cholerae lipopolysaccharide (LPS) as a cholera vaccine immunogen is justified by the correlation of vibriocidal anti-LPS response with immunity. Two V. cholerae O1 LPS serotypes, Inaba and Ogawa, are associated with endemic and pandemic cholera. Both serotypes induce protective antibody following infection or vaccination. Structurally, the LPSs that define the serotypes are identical except for the terminal perosamine moiety, which has a methoxyl group at position 2 in Ogawa but a hydroxyl group in Inaba. The terminal sugar of the Ogawa LPS is a protective B-cell epitope. We chemically synthesized the terminal hexasaccharides of V. cholerae serotype Ogawa, which comprises in part the O-specific polysaccharide component of the native LPS, and coupled the oligosaccharide at different molar ratios to bovine serum albumin (BSA). Our initial studies with Ogawa immunogens showed that the conjugates induced protective antibody. We hypothesized that antibodies specific for the terminal sugar of Inaba LPS would also be protective. Neoglycoconjugates were prepared from synthetic Inaba oligosaccharides (disaccharide, tetrasaccharide, and hexasaccharide) and BSA at different levels of substitution. BALB/c mice responded to the Inaba carbohydrate (CHO)-BSA conjugates with levels of serum antibodies of comparable magnitude to those of mice immunized with Ogawa CHO-BSA conjugates, but the Inaba-specific antibodies (immunoglobulin M [IgM] and IgG1) were neither vibriocidal nor protective in the infant mouse cholera model. We hypothesize that the anti-Inaba antibodies induced by the Inaba CHO-BSA conjugates have enough affinity to be screened via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay but not enough to be protective in vivo.

Abstract C1ORF106, also named INAVA (Innate Immune Activator), was identified as a risk gene for the chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) by genome-wide association studies and targeted exome sequencing. INAVA is highly enriched in polarized simple epithelia, the cell type that lines the intestine and interfaces most directly with the outside world. We discover that INAVA provides a direct mechanistic link between mucosal barriers and inflammation. This is driven by INAVA’s signature Domain of Unknown Function DUF3338, which we newly defined as an enhancer of IL-1β-TRAF6 polyubiquitination cascades. Our work shows that DUF3338 stably binds the GTP-exchange factor cytohesin-2 (ARNO), in one case blocking the formation of INAVA stress puncta and its effect on ubiquitination, and in another case acting at lateral membranes where the INAVA-ARNO complex regulates cortical F-actin dynamics and epithelial barrier function. We thus rename the DUF3338 domain CUPID for Cytohesin Ubiquitin Protein Inducing Domain. We performed a high throughput small molecule screen to identify molecules that modulated INAVA function in cells. Compounds hits identified in the screen links INAVA’s role in barrier and stress response mechanisms involving actin dynamics and proteostasis.

This study aims to see how user satisfaction with website services in terms of aspects of web design and quality of information. The first hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive and significant influence between web design on user satisfaction with website services at the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi INABA Bandung. The second hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive and significant influence between web design on user satisfaction with website services at the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi INABA Bandung. The population in this study were students in Class A of the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi INABA Bandung, amounting to 39 people. The sampling method was carried out by total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression methods. The results showed that web design has a positive and significant influence on user satisfaction with website services at the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi INABA Bandung. Ultimamente surgiram trabalhos que mostram que Kant fundamenta os direitos humanos a partir da liberdade inata, como único direito inato que o homem possui em virtude de sua humanidade. Contudo, a liberdade inata não permite justificar uma teoria dos direitos humanos porque constitui apenas um direito inato sobre o meu e o teu interior que possibilita a posse empírica, ademais, embora um direito humano seja inalienável, deve-se renunciar a ela para ingressar no estado civil; além disso, as quatro derivações analíticas da liberdade inata geram consequências incompatíveis com uma doutrina dos direitos humanos, pois, enquanto direitos humanos se referem à todos, a igualdade inata e a independência inata se aplicam a um número restrito de pessoas; finalmente, há uma diferenciação na interpretação da fórmula da humanidade no direito e na ética, porque, subjetivamente, tratar a humanidade como um fim exige que o agente considere que o fim da humanidade seja o móbil de sua ação na ética, mas, no direito, exige-se apenas que o seu comportamento externo seja conforme o fim da humanidade, e, objetivamente, no direito, tratar a humanidade como um fim produz uma legislação penal contrária aos direitos humanos e o direito da humanidade exige que a integridade inata seja suspensa durante o período da condenação, ademais, esta diferenciação na ideia de humanidade torna-se explícita na imprejudicabilidade inata, pois, na ética, a mentira é a maior violação do dever da humanidade em sua pessoa, mas, no direito, somente viola o direito da humanidade se causar prejuízo para outros.

Previous studies suggesting a greater functional role of cardiac Na+/Ca2+ exchange at birth were performed using tightly buffered free cytosolic Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i). Because Na+/Ca2+ exchange current (INaCa) is influenced by physiological fluctuations in [Ca2+]i, we used conditions of minimally buffered [Ca2+]i to simultaneously record INaCa and cell contractions in single ventricular myocytes isolated from 1 to 27-day-old and adult rabbits. With conventional Cl(-)-containing solutions. Ni(2+)-sensitive outward and inward charge movements were unbalanced, suggesting the presence of a contaminating current (presumably the Ca(2+)-activated Cl- current). Removing Cl- abolished this discrepancy in all age groups and allowed for the accurate quantitation of INaCa. Under Cl(-)-free conditions, outward and inward charge movements were high at birth (4 days: 0.42 +/- 0.03 and -0.38 +/- 0.04 pC/pF, respectively) and decreased postnatally (adult: 0.08 +/- 0.01 and -0.07 +/- 0.01 pC/pF, respectively). Newborn but not adult myocytes contracted during depolarizations in the presence of nifedipine, ryanodine, and thapsigargin. The magnitudes of outward charge movement (Ca2+ influx) and cell shortening exhibited similar voltage dependence, consistent with INaCa-mediated contractions. These results indicate that INaCa can directly support contraction in newborn rabbit ventricular myocytes.

Vibrio cholerae O1 serotype Ogawa and serotype Inaba isolates from the cholera epidemic that occurred in 2001 and 2002 in South Africa were compared with isolates of V. cholerae O1 serotype Inaba from the epidemic that occurred between 1980 and 1987. PFGE using NotI digestion was used to compare stored isolates received during the 1980s epidemic with those received during the epidemic in 2001/2002. A selected number of these isolates were then sequenced to compare the sequence of the wbeT gene in the V. cholerae O1 Ogawa strains of 2001/2002 with that in the V. cholerae O1 Inaba strains of the 1980s and 2001/2002. Isolates from the recent epidemic were shown to be related, irrespective of serotype, and had comparable banding patterns on PFGE, using NotI. They were distinctly different from those from the previous epidemic. Sequencing of the wbeT gene showed that the gene was highly conserved between the two epidemics. A single deletional mutation of an adenine residue was observed in the V. cholerae serotype Inaba isolates from the 2001/2002 epidemic, resulting in the serotype switch between the V. cholerae O1 strains from the recent epidemic. The distinct differences in PFGE patterns among isolates from the first and second epidemics exclude the possibility that the Inaba strain from the 1980s became dormant in the environment and mutated to serotype Ogawa, causing the 2001/2002 epidemic, despite the apparent consistency in the site of mutation in the Inaba serotypes between the two epidemics.

AbstractThe Sumerian tale of Inana and Shukaletuda recounts how the goddess Inana is raped by a homely gardener upon whom she seeks and ultimately finds revenge. Though this general plot has long been understood, certain elements of the story have remained largely unexplored. Previous scholarship has often suggested that within Inana and Shukaletuda, the goddess Inana is often described in her astral manifestation (e.g. S. Kramer 1961, 117; K. Volk 1995, 177-179 and 182-183; B. Alster 1999, 687; J. Cooper 2001, 142-144). Nevertheless, to date there has been no systematic treatment of this assumption and this study seeks to fill this gap. It is my thesis that certain events of the story (i.e. Inana's movements) can be related to a series of observable celestial phenomena, specifically the synodic activity of the planet Venus. This also explains the heretofore enigmatic climax of the story, in which Inana crosses the entire sky in order to finally locate her attacker, as a celestial miracle required by the planet Venus' peculiar celestial limitations. Furthermore, since in ancient Iraq the observation of astronomical phenomena was often done for the purpose of celestial divination, I suggest that certain events within the story may be illuminated if situated within that undertaking.

We study production functions with capital and labor as arguments that exhibit positive, yet diminishing marginal products and constant returns to scale. We show that such functions satisfy the Inada conditions if (i) both inputs are essential and (ii) an unbounded quantity of either input leads to unbounded output. This allows for an alternative characterization of the neoclassical production function that altogether dispenses with the Inada conditions. Although this proposition generalizes to the case of n > 2 factors of production, its converse does not hold: 2n Inada conditions do not imply that each factor is essential.

Both sensitivity tests (MIC , MBC and wells method ) against these bacteria were performed by using the aqueous of leaves extract of Marjoram plant. The results cleared that the values of MIC for Vibrio cholera serotypes Ogawa and Inaba were 100 mg/ml , while the value of MBC was 200 mg/ml. The value of the Inhibition zone at 100 mg /ml concentration for both Ogawa and Inaba were 13 mm and 9 mm respectively. Our results showed that the three types of Salmonella didn’t show any inhibition zone at 200 mg/ml .

Isolates of Vibrio cholerae O1 biotype El Tor serotype Inaba associated with an outbreak of cholera in Trivandrum, southern India, were characterized. PCR testing revealed that all five isolates examined carried the TCP pathogenicity island, the CTX genetic element and the RTX toxin, and produced cholera toxin (CT). RFLP analysis revealed that these Inaba isolates possessed a single copy of the CTX element flanked by two tandemly arranged copies of the RS element upstream of the core region. The isolates were resistant to ampicillin, nalidixic acid, trimethoprim, sulfamethoxazole, streptomycin and the vibriostatic agent 2,4-diamino-6,7-diisopropylpteridine (O/129). Ribotyping of these Inaba isolates revealed a hybridization profile similar to a strain of serotype Ogawa prevalent in southern India.

Inaka Coffee is one of the coffee shops located in Cimahi City. The existence of this coffee shop is becoming a trend as evidenced by the increasing level of coffee consumption in Indonesia. This research aims to determine the service attributes needed and desired by Inaka Coffee’s consumers, to find out the service performance of Inaka Coffee compared to other competitors as well as to find out the service attributes that must be prioritized to improve service quality in fulfilling Inaka Coffee’s customer satisfaction. This is done by implementing the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method which aims to improve the service quality on aspects deemed less eligible at Inaka Coffee. This Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method is integrated by SERVQUAL. To find out the consumers’ needs, interviews were conducted with 30 respondents regarding the desired attributes while being at the Coffee Shop. In addition, this research involved 120 respondents, namely coffee shop’s consumers in an assessment regarding expectations and realities of the service quality. This research did not only involve consumers as respondents but also involve experts in assessing the needed technical response and the relationship between the provided technical response provided and the desired consumer’s needs. There are 24 main priorities that need improvement seen from the Pareto diagram analysis. This technical response needs to be done in order to reduce the gap between the value of realities and expectations which means it can increase customer satisfaction of the existing service quality.

This new type is based on the combination of minimum weighted velocity norm (MWVN) and INAM criteria, and thus is called the MWVN–INAM–BCM scheme. In formulating such a scheme, joint-angle, joint-velocity, and joint-acceleration limits are incorporated. The proposed MWVN–INAM–BCM scheme is reformulated as a quadratic programming problem solved at the joint-acceleration level. Simulation results based on the PUMA560 robot manipulator validate the efficacy and applicability of the proposed MWVN–INAM–BCM scheme in robotic redundancy resolution. In addition, the physical realizability of the proposed scheme is verified in practical application based on a six-link planar robot manipulator.

Along with the development of the tourism industry in Bali, competition in hospitality industry also getting tighter, especially in Nusa Dua region. One of the five-star hotels in Nusa Dua area is Inaya Putri Bali Resort Nusa Dua. This study aims to know the factors that determine the decision of tourists and the dominant factors that determine the decision of tourists to stay at Inaya Putri Bali. Sample determination techniques used purposive sampling method. The respondents of this study were 100 tourists who stayed at Inaya Putri Bali. The results then analyzed with factor analysis techniques used SPSS version 21.0 for Windows. The analysis obtained 4 factors which explain 76.980% of the total variance factor. The factors that determine the decision of tourists to stay consist of 4 factors, namely: excellence, surplus value, supporting and marketing mix factors. The dominant factor that determines the decision of tourists to stay is the factor of excellence with an eigenvalue 10.142 and variance factor 50.709%. This study gave an overview to management of Inaya Putri Bali to improve excellence factors adn innovate factors outside of excellence factor in order to attract tourists to stay in the future.

Phospholemman (PLM) belongs to the FXYD family of small ion transport regulators. When phosphorylated at Ser68, PLM inhibits cardiac Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX1). We previously demonstrated that the cytoplasmic tail of PLM interacts with the proximal intracellular loop (residues 218–358), but not the transmembrane (residues 1–217 and 765–938) or Ca2+-binding (residues 371–508) domains, of NCX1. In this study, we used intact Na+/Ca2+ exchanger with various deletions in the intracellular loop to map the interaction sites with PLM. We first demonstrated by Western blotting and confocal immunofluorescence microscopy that wild-type (WT) NCX1 and its deletion mutants were expressed in transfected HEK-293 cells. Cotransfection with PLM and NCX1 (or its deletion mutants) in HEK-293 cells did not decrease expression of NCX1 (or its deletion mutants). Coexpression of PLM with WT NCX1 inhibited NCX1 current ( INaCa). Deletion of residues 240–679, 265–373, 250–300, or 300–373 from WT NCX1 resulted in loss of inhibition of INaCa by PLM. Inhibition of INaCa by PLM was preserved when residues 229–237, 270–300, 328–330, or 330–373 were deleted from the intracellular loop of NCX1. These results suggest that PLM mediated inhibition of INaCa by interacting with two distinct regions (residues 238–270 and 300–328) of NCX1. Indeed, INaCa measured in mutants lacking residues 238–270, 300–328, or 238–270 + 300–328 was not affected by PLM. Glutathione S-transferase pull-down assays confirmed that PLM bound to fragments corresponding to residues 218–371, 218–320, 218–270, 238–371, and 300–373, but not to fragments encompassing residues 250–300 and 371–508 of NCX1, indicating that residues 218–270 and 300–373 physically associated with PLM. Finally, acute regulation of INaCa by PLM phosphorylation observed with WT NCX1 was absent in 250–300 deletion mutant but preserved in 229–237 deletion mutant. We conclude that PLM mediates its inhibition of NCX1 by interacting with residues 238–270 and 300–328.

AbstractA recent study of Early Formative Mesoamerican pottery by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) yielded surprising results that prompted two critiques in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The INAA study indicated that the Olmec center of San Lorenzo was a major exporter of carved-incised and white pottery and that little if any pottery made elsewhere was consumed at San Lorenzo. The critiques purport to "overturn" the INAA study and demonstrate a more balanced exchange of pottery among Early Formative centers. However, the critiques rely on a series of mistaken claims and misunderstandings that are addressed here. New petrographic data on a small sample of Early Formative pottery (Stoltman et al. 2005) are potentially useful, but they do not overturn INAA of nearly 1000 pottery samples and hundreds of raw material samples.

In cardiac cells, evoked Ca2+ releases or spontaneous Ca2+ waves activate the inward Na+/Ca2+ exchange current ( INaCa), which may modulate membrane excitability and arrhythmogenesis. In this study, we examined changes in membrane potential due to INaCa elicited by sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) Ca2+ release in guinea pig ventricular myocytes using whole cell current clamp, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Inhibition of INaCa by Na+-free, Li+-containing Tyrode solution reversibly abbreviated the action potential duration at 90% repolarization (APD90) by 50% and caused SR Ca2+ overload. APD90 was similarly abbreviated in myocytes exposed to the Na+/Ca2+ exchange inhibitor KB-R7943 (5 μM) or after inhibition of SR Ca2+ release with ryanodine (20 μM). In the absence of extracellular Na+, spontaneous SR Ca2+ releases caused minimal changes in resting membrane potential. After the myocytes were returned to Na+-containing solution, the potentiated intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) transients dramatically prolonged APD90 and [Ca2+]i oscillations caused delayed and early afterdepolarizations (DADs and EADs). Laser-flash photolysis of caged Ca2+ mimicked the effects of spontaneous [Ca2+]i oscillations, confirming that APD prolongation, DADs, and EADs could be ascribed to intracellular Ca2+ release. These results suggest that Na+/Ca2+ exchange is a major physiological determinant of APD and that INaCa activation by spontaneous SR Ca2+ release/oscillations, depending on the timing, can account for both DADs and EADs during SR Ca2+ overload.

Colloidal gold, conjugated to ligands or antibodies, is routinely used as a label for the detection of cell structures by light (LM) and electron microscopy (EM). To date, several methods to count the number of colloidal gold labels have been employed with limited success. Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA), a physical method for the analysis of the elemental composition of materials, can be used to provide a quantitative index of gold accumulation in bulk specimens. Given that gold is not naturally found in biological specimens in any substantial amount and that colloidal gold and ligand conjugates can be prepared to yield uniform bead sizes, the amount of label can be calculated in bulk biological samples by INAA. Here we describe the use of INAA, LM, transmission EM, and X-ray microanalysis (EDX) in a model to determine both distribution (localization) and amount of colloidal gold at the organ, tissue, cellular, and ultrastructural levels in whole animal systems following administration. In addition, the sensitivity for gold in biological specimens by INAA is compared with that of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The correlative use of INAA, LM, TEM, and EDX can be useful, for example, in the quantitative and qualitative tracking of various labeled molecular species following administration in vivo.

AbstractMany literary texts portray the Mesopotamian netherworld as unrelievedly bleak, yet the archaeological evidence of grave goods suggests that there may also have existed an alternative way of thinking about the afterlife. An analysis of the types of objects found in burials indicates that many people may have anticipated a less harsh form of existence after death. Furthermore, iconographic allusions to the goddess Inana/Ishtar in certain burials raise the possibility that this deity may have been associated with the descent of human dead to the netherworld. The occasional presence of her image and iconography in funerary contexts does not necessarily imply a belief that Inana/Ishtar would personally grant the deceased a happy afterlife, but it may provide an allusion to her own escape from the undesirable netherworld of literary narrative. Inana/Ishtar's status as a liminal figure and breaker of boundaries also may have encouraged Mesopotamians to associate her with the transition between life and death.

Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) is a measurement technique of high metrological level for the determination of chemical elements. In the context of BIOTA/FAPESP Program, leaves of trees have been evaluated by INAA for biomonitoring purposes of the Atlantic Forest. To assure the comparability of results in environmental studies, a leaf sample of Marlierea tomentosa (Myrtaceae family) showing the lowest concentrations of chemical elements was selected for the evaluation of analytical quality of the determination under unfavorable conditions. Nevertheless, the homogeneity of chemical concentrations of sample at the 95% of confidence level has been achieved and INAA has presented repeatability of 2% for the determination of Br, Co, Cs, Fe, K, Na, Rb and Sr, the uncertainty could have been overestimated. For the evaluation of uncertainty due to the variability of chemical concentrations in the sample, Jackknife and Bootstrap methods were used to estimate the maximum expected percent standard deviation. The uncertainty budget was considered adequate for the reporting chemical concentrations of environmental samples determined by INAA.

In this study, we used alanine (Ala) linker scanning to pinpoint the residues in the proximal linker domain involved in regulation of NCX1 by PLM. Transfection of human embryonic kidney (HEK)293 cells with wild-type (WT) NCX1 or its Ala mutants but not empty vector resulted in NCX1 current ( INaCa). Coexpression of PLM with WT NCX1 inhibited INaCa. Mutating residues 248–252 (PASKT) or 300–304 (QKHPD) in WT NCX1 to Ala resulted in loss of inhibition of INaCa by PLM. By contrast, inhibition of INaCa by PLM was preserved when residues 238–242, 243–247, 253–257, 258–262, 263–267, 305–309, 310–314, 315–319, 320–324, or 325–329 were mutated to Ala. While mutating residue 301 to alanine completely abolished PLM inhibition, mutation of any single residue 250–252, 300, or 302–304 resulted in partial reduction in inhibition. Mutating residues 248–252 to Ala resulted in significantly weaker association with PLM. The NCX1-G503P mutant that lacks Ca2+-dependent activation retained its sensitivity to PLM. We conclude that residues 248–252 and 300–304 in the proximal linker domain of NCX1 were involved in its inhibition by PLM.

ABSTRACTImmunity againstVibrio choleraeO1 is serogroup specific, and serogrouping is defined by the O-specific polysaccharide (OSP) part of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Despite this, human immune responses toV. choleraeOSP have not previously been characterized. We assessed immune responses againstV. choleraeOSP in adults with cholera caused byV. choleraeO1 El Tor serotype Inaba or Ogawa in Dhaka, Bangladesh, using O1 OSP-core–bovine serum albumin (OSPc:BSA) conjugates; responses targeted OSP in these conjugates. Responses of Inaba-infected patients to Inaba OSP and LPS increased significantly in IgG, IgM, and IgA isotypes from the acute to convalescent phases of illness, and the responses correlated well between OSP and LPS (R= 0.86, 0.73, and 0.91, respectively;P< 0.01). Plasma IgG, IgM, and IgA responses to Ogawa OSP and LPS in Ogawa-infected patients also correlated well with each other (R= 0.60, 0.60, and 0.92, respectively;P< 0.01). Plasma IgM responses to Inaba OSP and Ogawa OSP correlated with the respective serogroup-specific vibriocidal antibodies (R= 0.80 and 0.66, respectively;P< 0.001). Addition of either OSPc:BSA or LPS, but not BSA, to vibriocidal assays inhibited vibriocidal responses in a comparable and concentration-dependent manner. Mucosal IgA immune responses to OSP and LPS were also similar. Our study is the first to characterize anti-OSP immune responses in patients with cholera and suggests that responses targetingV. choleraeLPS, including vibriocidal responses that correlate with protection against cholera, predominantly target OSP. Induction of anti-OSP responses may be associated with protection against cholera, and our results may support the development of a vaccine targetingV. choleraeOSP.

Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini berupa ada novel Panggil Aku Layung terdapat lima bentuk ikon, dua bentuk indeks, dan tiga bentuk simbol.

Introdução: Apresenta-se, como objeto de análise, a produção de artigos científicos afiliados ao Instituto Nacional da Mata Atlântica (INMA), nova denominação do Museu de Biologia Professor Mello Leitão (MBML). Objetiva-se reconhecer a visibilidade, o impacto e as relações temáticas e colaborativas estabelecidas pela pesquisa do INMA ao longo de dez anos (2009-2018). Parte-se da seguinte questão: como se configura essa produção científica no que tange a áreas temáticas prioritárias, periódicos, autores, instituições e países mais produtivos e, ainda, qual seu impacto pelas citações recebidas? Método: Adotam-se os estudos métricos da informação como metodologia de coleta e análise, identificando-se um corpus de 73 artigos vinculados ao INMA pela afiliação institucional de seus pesquisadores no período de dez anos. Utiliza-se a base de dados Scopus para identificação dessa produção e, também, a base de dados Scival como instrumento para geração de indicadores. Resultados: Destaca-se que a produção afiliada ao INMA apresenta índices de internacionalização expressivos, visto que está publicada em 72% de periódicos internacionais. Além disso, o corpus recebe uma média de citações elevada (4,22 citações por artigo). As pesquisas com maior número de citações apresentam impacto superior à média de citação dos periódicos em que estão veiculadas. As relações interinstitucionais e entre autores constroem-se alinhadas ao escopo temático e histórico do Instituto, consolidando áreas e tendências de pesquisa nos domínios da zoologia e da botânica. Conclusão: O perfil da produção científica retratada contribui como elemento estratégico para a consolidação da memória de pesquisa do INMA.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of obsidian characterization analyses for Middle and Late Postclassic sites in the Yautepec Valley of Morelos, central Mexico. A large sample (N = 390) of obsidian blades from excavated domestic contexts at the site of Yautepec and from surface collected contemporary sites were assigned to a quarry source using X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and a subsample was also analyzed with instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). The use of XRF allowed the authors to expand the number of artifacts initially analyzed by INAA. These larger samples of sourced material prove essential to answering research questions regarding regional economies, particularly with regard to issues such as production and exchange. This study demonstrates the complementarity of XRF and INAA and the specific advantages inherent in each of these techniques.

Abstract:
In the present study, a total of 35 stool samples were collected in the Central Health Laboratory of Babylon Province from patients presenting invasive cholera disease. The period of collection was from November 2017 to December 2018. Identification of Vibrio cholerae species was carried out by conventional methods, biochemical tests, diagnostic kits and then confirmed by PCR-based assay targeting the ompW gene. The results of this study reported that O1 serogroups were the predominant serogroup among all clinical samples with a high rate of 94.3% (N = 33), while only two isolates of non-O1/non-O139 (NAG) (5.7%) were documented as a causative agent to cholera or cholera-like disease. The phylogenetic relationship among all 35 studied strains elucidated by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based fingerprinting assay (ISSR-PCR). The results of this assay showed grouping of Inaba strains into different clusters indicating that these strains were genetically diverse. Furthermore, V. cholerae El Tor O1 Ogawa strain (OG1) was closely related to strains of Inaba serotype. In contrast, NAG strains (NAG1 and NAG2) were not genetically similar to any of Inaba or Ogawa strains indicating different clone origin.

SummarySince 1977,Vibrio choleraeO1 has been isolated from the Australian aquatic environment and periodically cholera cases have occurred following exposure to these environments. To study the relationships between clinical isolates and environmental isolates from rivers and aquatic life, widely distributed throughout the country, a wide range of molecular typing methods were employed. In this paper we report the analysis of the 180 Australian isolates (10 clinical and 170 environmental) using ribotyping. Seven ribotype patterns were observed among the Australian inaba isolates, 2 of which included all clinical inaba isolates and 84% environmental inaba isolates collected from 9 rivers and creeks in eastern Australia during an 8-year period. Isolates from epidemiologically related clinical cases, asymptomatic household contacts and sewage were indistinguishable. The ogawa isolates were more diverse, with 9 ribotypes observed among 24 isolates from 8 rivers during the same period. Ribotype patterns were not shared between the serotypes with the exception of one ogawa isolate which could be distinguished using PFGE. Ribotyping has been useful in confirming an association between epidemiologically related clinical isolates and the aquatic environment and the persistence of several clones of the O1 serovar in the Australian environment during an 8-year period.

By strengthening the connectionbetween emotion/affect literature and labour theories, the article suggests the mood of my working asan academician is a desire to believe the world could be different and explores this mood by focusingon the main parts of my working history: arrival to the working place, transforming it and fulfillingthe requirements of working. These titles explore not only how such a mood is constructedhistorically but also how it is reconstituted in daily life. I hope that the article, which provides adiscursive analysis about women’s paid employment by drawing on the studies on the mood, willcontribute to the debates on the relationship between mood, labour process and gender ideologies.

Abstract:
Dietary intake of specific nutrients or food groups during pregnancy could influence fetal growth, but scant evidence is available on effects of dietary patterns. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of Mediterranean diet (MD) adherence during pregnancy on fetal growth in two population-based mother–child cohorts in Spain and Greece. We studied 2461 mother–newborn pairs from the Spanish multi-centre ‘INMA’ study (Atlantic area: INMA-Atlantic; Mediterranean area: INMA-Mediterranean), and 889 pairs from the ‘RHEA’ study in Crete, Greece. Maternal diet during pregnancy was assessed by FFQ and MD adherence was evaluated through an a priori score. Fetal growth restriction was based on a customised model, and multivariate log-binomial and linear regression models were used to adjust for several confounders. MD scores differ significantly between the cohorts with women in INMA-Atlantic reporting higher intakes of fish and dairy products, while women in the Mediterranean area reported higher intakes of cereals, vegetables and fruits. Women with high MD adherence had a significantly lower risk of delivering a fetal growth–restricted infant for weight (risk ratios: 0·5; 95 % CI 0·3, 0·9) in the INMA-Mediterranean cohort. Stratified analysis by smoking revealed that higher MD adherence increased birth weight and birth length in smoking mothers, whereas this effect was not apparent in non-smoking mothers. The results of the present study show that several types of MD exist across European Mediterranean regions. High MD adherence may modify the detrimental effect of smoking on birth size, but overall effects of diet were not universal for the studies in this analysis.
