Abstract:
AbstractThis article analyses Aquinas's conception of divine impeccability, and replies to some contemporary objections to this view. The first three sections show that for Aquinas the proposition that expresses God's impeccability is necessary de re, since God's moral goodness is grounded in His ontological goodness. The fourth section presents the connection between God's will and God's power and explains the sense of Aquinas's claim that God cannot sin because He cannot will to sin. The last three sections address the objections based on the apparent incompatibility between omnipotence and impeccability, and between impeccability, free will, and praiseworthiness.

AbstractWhatever else a theory of impeccability assumes about the moral life of heavenly agents, it seems to imply something about the type of actions possible for such agents, along with the quality of their moral characters. Regarding these characters, there are many that have argued impeccable and heavenly agents must also be perfectly virtuous agents. Michael Slote has recently argued, however, that perfect virtue is impossible. Assuming Slote's argument is successful, a theory of impeccability that relies on the possibility of perfect virtue would be greatly harmed, even to the point of incoherence. My intent here is to defend the coherence of the doctrine of impeccability, at least as it applies to the moral life of heavenly agents.

Abstract:
Abstract. Christ's victory over trials is an example, comfort, and assurance of believers' victory over their trials. Regarding His human nature, it was clear that the trials which Christ experienced were real trials. Yet the doctrine of Christ's impeccability, based on His divine nature, affirms that Christ was not only sinless, but could not sin also. From the point the problem arises: how can these two concepts - the reality of Christ's temptation and impeccability - be harmonized? Through a literature review carried out by discussing various opinions, both those that support the impeccability and those that reject it, it was concluded that there was no contradiction between Christ's impeccability and the reality of the trials he experienced. The impeccability of Christ is the essence of his eligibility to be our High Priest.

Abstract:
This article draws on the Dutch neo-Calvinist dogmatician Herman Bavinck’s notion of conscience to explore the question of whether Christ’s assumed humanity is fallen or unfallen. It will demonstrate that, for Bavinck, Christ’s conscience was silent and did not accuse or exonerate him according to the moral law (the word of God) as occurs in the postlapsarian conscience. Such a unique conscience reflects the unfallenness of Christ’s humanity and his impeccability. Moreover, Christ’s impeccability is concomitant with Christ’s permanent response to God’s word in faith. This suggests that in the eschaton, the human conscience will become silent in a faithful trust in the word of God.

Abstract:
AbstractIt is in Jonathan Edwards's Freedom of the Will (1754) that he reconciles impeccability and freedom of the will in the human soul of Jesus Christ, even when Jesus is in a state of trial. But how does he shape a synthesis between these two attributes without duplicity, and at the same time avoid theological and christological barbs, whether Arminian or Hobbist, Nestorian or Apollinist? For Edwards, the Son of God did not surrender impeccability when he undertook to fulfil – in human nature, and in a state of trial – intra-trinitarian promises, promises made not only by the Father to the Son, but by the Son to the Father. Edwards views the habits of the heart of Jesus Christ progressing in holiness from the moment of his incarnation. He understands the excellencies that the Son of God brought to the human nature in the incarnation in no way to have added to nor to have diminished the impeccable holy disposition of his person. A key to interpreting the holy habits of Jesus’ heart is, according to Edwards, to view the source of the impeccability of the soul of Jesus as lying in its essence, not in a cause outside his person; it lies in the very disposition of his heart.

Abstract:
Classical Christology provides reason to reject the principle of alternative possibilities [PAP]. The Gethsemane prayer highlights an instance in which Jesus Christ performs a voluntary and morally significant action which he could not have done otherwise, namely, Christ’s submission to God’s will. Two classical Christological doctrines undermine PAP: (1) impeccability, and (2) volitional non-contrariety. Classical Christology teaches that Christ could not sin, and that Christ’s human will could not be contrary to his divine will. Yet, classical Christology also teaches that Christ’s death is voluntary and morally praiseworthy. First, I present the relevant elements of classical Christology: dyothelitism, impeccability, and volitional non-contrariety. Second, I define and disambiguate varieties of PAP. Third, I show that Christ’s prayer in Gethsemane disproves PAP. I respond to several objections along the way. Finally, I reflect on the implications of denying PAP.

Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the question of whether the clarifications of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation have binding force. According to the author, the obligatory conditions for their binding nature are relevance, consistency and theoretical impeccability. The paper provides examples of clarifications that have lost relevance due to changes in the criminal law, as well as clarifications that do not comply with the letter of the law (for example, on the classification of violent crimes and threats of violence against other persons during rape). The inconsistency of the legal positions of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is seen in the assessment of the use of defective, fake or toy weapons, on the one hand, in banditry and robbery, and on the other hand, in hooliganism, as well as in the assessment of the helpless state of the victim of murder and rape. The position of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on the subject of violation of labor protection rules, in the author’s opinion, does not correspond to the position of the legislator on the same issue. The clarification as to the qualification of giving and receiving a bribe in a significant, large or especially large amount as a completed crime according to the intent, if there were several stages planned for the transfer of such, but the crime was interrupted before it was finalized, seems inconsistent with the law and the doctrine of criminal law. Violation of the requirements of relevance, consistency and theoretical impeccability is incompatible with the binding clarifications of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

AbstractSennett (1999) and Pawl and Timpe (2009; 2013) attempt to show how we can praise heavenly agents for things they inevitably do in heaven by appealing to the notion of derivative freedom. Matheson (2017) has criticized this use of derivative freedom. In this article I show why Matheson's argument is inconclusive but also how the basic point may be strengthened to undermine the use Sennett and Pawl and Timpe make of derivative freedom. I then show why Matheson is mistaken to claim that the value of free choice depends on an agent retaining the ability to change their mind; in so doing I demonstrate that some choices which result in fixed outcomes – a feature of the choices leading to impeccability – can indeed be valuable even if they cannot be undone.

The problem of the legal formulation and notional content of an impeccable and effective civil service as one of the grounds of applying the measures of encouragement to civil servants is considered in the article. Evaluative character of this category creates the significant difficulties in implementation of encouraging rules of legislation about the state civil service. An impeccable and effective civil service is proposed to be considered as the ethical and professional standard of the civil service, including certain criteria for its impeccability and efficiency. The need to conduct research in this direction is due to the need for law enforcement practice to develop uniform criteria for qualifying service merit with a view to their subsequent application through the implementation of the appropriate procedure within the framework of encouraging production in the system of the civil service.

Abstract:
According to Aquinas, the souls in heaven (hereafter, the blessed) are both necessitated (i.e., determined) and free in their choice to love God. But if Aquinas is right, it may seem that we cannot give an incompatibilist account of the freedom of the souls in heaven to love God. Roughly put, incompatibilism is the thesis that free will is incompatible with determinism. In this paper, I take inspiration from Kevin Timpe and Timothy Pawl’s account of the impeccability of the blessed to argue for a more refined view of incompatibilism, consistent with some of the literature, according to which free will is compatible with a certain kind of determinism. I then modify Timpe and Pawl’s account along Thomistic lines, removing a problematic character-based contingency, to argue that anyone, regardless of character, is necessitated to love God in the beatific vision – necessitated in a sense consistent with incompatibilism.

Based on the application of the proposed methodology of the cognitive study of English-language aphorisms, it can be stated that the concept WISDOM has the following constituents: 1) conceptual, the scope of which is much wider than reflected in dictionaries: «wisdom is the possession of knowledge», «wisdom is common sense», «wisdom is the ability to make spiritual sense of life», «wisdom as freedom from feelings», wisdom is sophistication», «wisdom is the heritage of the age», «wisdom is an aphorism»; 2) figurative, which is represented by figurative metaphors: «wisdom is power», «wisdom is knowledge of the truth», «wisdom is self-demanding», «wisdom is moral impeccability», «wisdom is modesty», «wisdom is freedom»; 3) valuable, represented mainly by a positive and exalted assessment.

Researchers agree on ascribing the De incarnatione Christi contra Apollinarium and the De salutari epiphania contra Apollinarium to two different authors, who probably shared the same theological education. The latter not only uses a mature theological style but shows a better knowledge of Apollinarius of Laodicea and his disciples’ writings. Even though the two authors try to demonstrate the presence of a perfect humanity in Christ, against Apollinarian thought, we can find some important differences in their works concerning the topic of the impeccabilitas of Christ and the relationship between sin and freedom. They explain in a different way the theory of salvation according to Apollinarius: while according to the author of De incarnatione Christi contra Apollinarium the man can save himself through the imitation of Christ, for the other writer salvation has been accomplished only because Christ is devoid of any trace of sin.

The article considers the issue of narrative sociocultural orientation as a way of translating general cultural norms and values, mechanism of social interaction organization. The author substantiates relationship between narrative texts structural-content characteristics and the corresponding sociocultural context. A method of researching a narrative text is proposed. It involves study of narration event structure and reflected value and role models in social relations organization, correspondence of the narration main plot to traditional archetypical plots and presence of the storyline narrative transformations is revealed. Empirical material of the study is the Victorian era narrative texts. Analyzing narrative forms of that time, the author reveals sociocultural changes influence on textual characteristics. Compositional and plot construction of narratives represents the Victorian era heterogeneity. The narration reflects social contradictions between conservative system of values inculcated by church and the state and search for relevant spiritual guidelines by progressively thinking individuals. Rapid growth of science and new industrial relations undermined faith in the biblical truths stability, the Victorian system of values impeccability. These sociocultural tendencies find expression in the motifs of open or veiled satirical criticism of the Victorian society hypocritical morality, assertion of human rights to boldly express their own assessment of social issues through narrative storyline event blocks inversion.

Abstract In his article, “Between History and Exegesis: the Origins and Transformation of the Story of Muḥammad and Zaynab bt Ǧaḥš,” published in Arabica, 65/1-2 (2018), p. 31-63, Andreas Görke argues that the reference in Kor 33, 37 to Muḥammad’s marriage to the former wife of a man named Zayd “seems to refer to an historical event” and that later exegetical expansions of the episode are based on an “historical kernel.” He adds that these exegetical expansions were modeled on the encounter between David and Bathsheba in II Samuel 11-12 and that the connection between the Islamic and biblical episodes stands at the beginning of the Muslim “preoccupation” with v. 37. Building upon Görke’s scholarship, I show how the early Muslim community created a plausible Sitz im Leben for the episode; establish with greater precision the starting point of the Muslim “preoccupation” with the connection between Muḥammad’s marriage to Zayd’s former wife and David’s marriage to the wife of Uriah the Hittite; and suggest that the qurʾānic treatment of the episode contains a seed of what would become the doctrine of ʿiṣma or the impeccability of prophets. Finally, I propose that the important question for historians is not the event to which the episode purportedly refers but rather the larger geo-political context for the emergence of the qurʾānic proclamation that Muḥammad is ḫātam al-nabiyyīn or the Seal of Prophets. To this end, I seek to shift the scholarly gaze from a domestic crisis in the household of Muḥammad in Medina ca AH 5 to early Christian polemics against Islam and its Prophet and to Byzantine imperial ideology.

Abstract:
The article discusses the reasons that cast doubt on the beliefs about the impeccability of state lawmaking, carried out in logic: law — rights — freedom. Protests related to the “struggle of citizens for their rights and freedoms”, especially aggravated in connection with COVID-19, even began to pose a threat to the integrity of individual states. An example is the January events of 2022 that took place in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A retrospective analysis of ideas about the interdependence of influence that exists between civil society and the state made it possible to identify their main trends. In antiquity, the state regulation of the life of citizens of the policy was carried out in the logic: freedom — duties — rights. In the Roman Empire, the rationing of the life of the state and its citizens begins to take on a pronounced legalized format. The evolution of ideas in this format clearly demonstrates that in the future various kinds of natural law concepts are united in that any artificial social formation has no right to alienate the rights that are given to the individual by nature itself. Since that time, in the lawmaking of states, unconditional priority has been given to rights. In the teachings of representatives of German classical philosophy in the relationship between civil society and the state, a return to the importance of parity between duties and rights is still visible. Subsequently, the logic: law — rights — freedom became the defining attribute of the lawmaking of states that today are classified as legal. As a result, the functioning of civil society, directly or indirectly, came under their direct patronage

<P>Background: In the presence of Cloud Environment and the migration of Electronic Health Systems and records to the Cloud, patient privacy has become an emergent problem for healthcare institutions. Government bylaws, electronic health documentation, and innovative internet health services generate numerous security issues for healthcare conformity and information security groups. To deal with these issues, healthcare institutes must protect essential IT infrastructure from unauthorized use by insiders and hackers. The Cloud Computing archetype allows for EHealth methods that improve the features and functionality of systems on the cloud. On the other hand, sending patients’ medical information and records to the Cloud entails a number of risks in the protection and privacy of the health records during the communication process. </P><P> Aim: In this paper, a solution is proposed for the security of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in cloud environment during the process of sending the data to the cloud. In addition, the proposed method uses biometric images that allow for unified patient identification across cloud-based EHRs and across medical institutions. </P><P> Method: To protect the privacy of patients’ information and streamline the migration process, a watermarking-based method is proposed for health care providers to ensure that patients’ data are only accessible to authorized personnel. Patients’ information, such as name, id, symptoms, diseases, and previous history, is secured in biometric images of patients as an encrypted watermark. Results: Quality and impeccability analysis and robustness were performed to test the proposed method. The PSNR values show that the proposed method produced excellent results. Conclusion: The robustness and impressibility of the proposed method were tested by subjecting the watermarked images to different simulated attacks. The watermarks were largely impermeable to varied and repeated attacks.</P>

Abstract:
The article analyzes the right of citizens to an effective assessment of the quality of medical care and the prospects for the use of standards for the provision of medical care, it is noted that they can serve as a tool for determining the quality of medical care. In this article, the purpose of the study is to determine effective methods for identifying the level of medical care in modern conditions, and the tasks are: to determine the criteria for assessing the quality of such care and identifying their official approval, as well as what are the methodological recommendations for the provision of medical care in the Russian Federation and whether it is possible to retreat in the interests of the patient. The article uses generally accepted methods, such as: analysis, synthesis, generalization, as well as private scientific research methods: comparative legal, dogmatic legal method of interpreting the law. The problem of determining the legal nature of the standards for the provision of medical care, their impact on the assessment of the quality and impeccability of their content, how in the future the availability of standards for the provision of medical care will affect the assessment of the behavior of medical personnel in court, and what to use in the absence of a standard for a specific disease are described. It is concluded that the standards are an effective tool in assessing the quality of medical care and allow the realization of the rights of a citizen to protect his health, but they are not a guarantee of the success of the treatment and diagnostic process in a particular patient, which requires changes in the legislation to ensure the flexibility of their application, taking into account constitutional law citizens for health care.

"Academia" Publishing House (1922–1937) books are an example of high publishing culture. For many years, the products of the publishing house have been the subject of close attention on the part of bibliophiles and collectors in many countries of the world. The reason for this interest is literary impeccability and excellent decoration. To reach unprecedented artistic heights became possible thanks to the work of the best Soviet professional artists. All the existing printing methods, the best printing houses, and graphic art techniques were used while creating these books. The history of the publishing house, covered in rare publications, alongside with triumphal events, victories at international book competitions, is full of dramatic and even tragic pages. It can be called the publishing house of repressed editors, authors, and books.Almost all the managers of Academia, many employees were subjected to repressions, were sentenced to capital punishment. Their names were extorted from the output of the entire book circulation; introductory articles were cut out, publications were discontinued, sometimes, entire print runs of books were destroyed. In modern libraries, copies of such "repressed" books have been miraculously preserved. That is why it is difficult to overestimate their historical and cultural value – genuine documentary witnesses of historical events of almost a century remoteness. The history of the Academia Publishing House is intertwined with Irkutsk, since the stuff included people whose fate related to the city on the Angara: the last head of the “Academia”, Yakov Davidovich Yanson, after the October revolution held leadership positions in the government in Irkutsk; the founder of the Soviet school of folklore and anthrax studies, Irkutsk professor Mark Konstantinovich Azadovsky also collaborated with the publishing house “Academia”.The article is the first to observe the questions of valuable collections formation and preservation in the Irkutsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I. I. Molchanov-Sibirsky (IRSUSL), the former library of the Irkutsk Pedagogical Institute and the library of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V. P. Sukatchev (IRAM). Collecting bit-by-bit book masterpieces, librarians study, popularize them at exhibitions, presentations, lectures, showing the authentic Russian book art culture.

Abstract:
AbstractThe doctrine of the incarnation suggests that Christ is necessarily like us in some respects, and also unlike us in others. One long-standing debate in modern christology concerns whether Jesus’ human nature ought to be regarded as ‘fallen’ – as conditioned by the effects of the Fall – despite the fact that he himself remained without sin (Heb 4:15). Is fallenness a condition which is necessary in order for Christ to sympathise with human beings, to represent them, and so to reconcile them to God? Is fallenness logically separable from sinfulness? Recent literature has suggested an increasing intractability on both sides of this debate. This article seeks to bring clarity to the question of the fallenness of Christ's human nature by identifying areas of common ground between advocates and opponents of this position. It engages the work of representatives from both sides – Oliver Crisp in opposition and Karl Barth in support – in order to determine the different ways in which they approach the matter of Jesus’ fallenness and impeccability, and to locate points of potential consensus. Crisp argues that fallenness cannot be detached from sin and guilt – i.e. Augustine's notion of both original sin and original corruption, in which sin is an inevitability. Barth, on the other hand, is critical of the Augustinian view and takes as his point of departure Jesus’ unity and sympathy with fallen creatures. Yet the fallenness of Jesus’ humanity does not mean that sin was a real possibility for him.In this article the christological doctrine of anhypostasis – a way of speaking exclusively of human nature apart from its hypostatic union with God the Son – is suggested as the primary way forward. Advocates of the fallenness position seem to have this qualifier in mind when describing Jesus’ human nature as ‘fallen’: it is true of the assumed nature only when considered in itself, apart from the hypostatic union. There are logical and historical grounds for opponents to accept fallenness strictly on these terms, as well. Beyond this, I argue that anhypostatic fallenness should be acceptable to both sides because it is never without a corresponding sanctification of Jesus’ human nature by its encounter with God. Though Jesus’ humanity was conditioned by the fall, by virtue of the communicatio gratiarum it was not left in a state of peccability.

Abstract:
SummaryMore and more theologians are giving up the doctrine of Christ’s impeccability. This has a great deal to do with how one construes certain metaphysical assumptions about human nature. For some theologians of the Reformed tradition, in particular, Christ’s human nature consists of an immaterial soul and a material body, so much so, that this so-called ‘mind-body dualist’ structure of human nature has become seemingly indispensible to maintaining an impeccable Christ. In this paper, I explore how an alternative metaphysical story about Christ’s human nature, put forward by the American Reformed theologian, Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758), offers both a coherent Christological account of Christ’s human nature and at the same time, offers some ancillary promise for maintaining Christ’s impeccability by virtue of its being able to overcome the challenge to mind-body dualist metaphysics known as ‘interactionism’.

Abstract:
Abstract Supposing that Christ is impeccable – that, necessarily, Christ does not sin – what explains that impeccability? While there have been multiple theories of how the operations of Christ's human will could be fully free while Christ's sinlessness is nevertheless guaranteed, such accounts cannot be exploited to provide the requisite explanation. And not all of the divine purposes sufficient for becoming incarnate would also be sufficient to explain why Christ must be sinless. We should instead explain Christ's impeccability normatively, in terms of the reasons that God has to respond appropriately to God's own perfection by refraining from taking on a human nature with a will that ever opposes the divine will. Such reasons are reasons of divine holiness.

Abstract:
The following study seeks to investigate the impeccability of Christ from a historical-theological point of view. Two camps emerge on either side of the debate. The one camp is those who hold to the posse non peccare view, which is to say the ability not to sin, otherwise known as the peccability view. The other camp holds to the non posse peccare view which is to say inability to sin, otherwise known as the impeccability view. While both camps affirm the sinless perfection of Christ they oppose each other about whether he could have sinned if he had wanted to. It boils down to a case of ‘could have but did not’ or ‘did not because He could not have’. It is the view of this article that the non posse peccare view squares with historical theology. By surveying church councils up to the present time, we aim in the introduction to prove that the history of this issue matters in that it establishes the relationship between Christology and history in relation to the origin of sin. In the first section of the main body we survey and evaluate the position from a peccability viewpoint while, at the same time, proposing and validating our points of departure. In the second section we assess and acknowledge the argument for impeccability by proving the necessity of it for the exoneration of Christ’s Person.

Abstract:
In this rapidly changing global environment, the need for communication skills (CS) and emotional intelligence (EI) has become important to today's leaders, in addition to knowing other technical and conceptual skills. Although many universities and management institutions around the world have studied the impact of CS and EI on organizational performance, there are still numerous gaps in the research approach, results and conclusions. Most people are confused due to complex information that lacked impeccability in past studies. This study aims to identify the significance of CS and EI that influence leaders and organizational performance and examine how the contributions, evaluations, opinions and ideas of previous researchers have been related and biased. This is an independent article based on a literature review conducted using the electronics databases such as EBSCO, DOAJ, RESEARCH LIFE, EMBASE and Google Scholar. The variables explored in the present review include effective communication skills, leadership emotional intelligence and organizational performance which are also the guiding framework of the review. The present review shows that CS and EI may be combined rather than separated to develop the potential of a leader to achieve organizational efficiency and success. Both CS and EI are the prerequisites of an effective leader to manage others and build long-term relationships. The review recommends that leaders receive the appropriate training in public speaking, negotiation, emotional management, and organizational efficiency to improve their CS and EI.
