Abstract:

Objective: In the United States, interest in quality of life and social disabilities associated with mental illne intensified in the wake of the deinstitutionalization of the late '60s abd '70s. Although mental health professionals in the United States have begun to recognize the importance of quality of life considerations to patient management and treatment outcomes, review of the literature shows there is minimal research in mental health on this important topic. As a result, little theoretical or methodological progres has been made. Quality of life has not been clearly conceptulized or defined and there are no agreed-upon standards or criteria for measurement. This presentation will; (a) review important conceptual issues in quality of life research, (b) discuss the benefits of and obstacles to incorporating consumer values in judgments of quality of life, and (c) present data from Wisconsin Quality of Life Index (W-QLI; Becker et al., 1993) to illustrate the usefulness of a consumer responsive model of quality of life and the importance of incorporating consumer values in the assessment of quality of life of persons with schizophrenia. Methods: The W-QLI was administered to a convenience sample of psychiatric outpatients with a DSM-IV diagnosis of schizophrenia. The W-QLI is a self-administered individually preference-weighted index that measures nine separted domains encompassing quality of life. The W-QLI scoring method results in spearted scores for each domain and allows for the relationships among separate domains to be studied. The mine separted domains include; (a) satisfaction level for different objective quality of life indicators, (b) occupational activities, (c) psychological well-being,(d) physical health, (c) social relations, (f) economics, (g) activities of daily living, (h) symptoms, and (i) goal attainment. Results: study findings are consistent with previous theory and empirical domains. Results show that while consumers' and clinicians' judgments of outcome corelated, there were important differences. Clincians systematically rated functiion higher and social relations lower that did consumers, and there were significant differences in consumer and provider goals for improvement with treatment. Overall ratings of quality of life and funciton are only weakly correlated with psychopathology. The findings support the importance and feasibility of incorporating consumer values and judgments of quality of life in outcome measurement.

Abstract:

Abstract This paper deals with the distribution of adnominal ille in Late Latin. While the literature on the topic is substantial, the aim of the paper is not to seek attestations of ille which foreshadow its article or article-like function, but simply to look for some functional properties that allow for its future development as a marker of definiteness. Moreover, this paper aims at considering the distribution of ille in the context of the propositional structure taken as a whole. The Peregrinatio Aetheriae is first analysed, as a privileged text for looking at a redundant use of adnominal ille. In this text, the frequency of occurrences of adnominal ille appears to be linked to the frequency of presentative structures: in particular, ille is often found within post-verbal noun phrases which, even while fulfilling the subject function, combine a predicative and/or rhematic function with the argumental one, precisely as in existential and presentative structures. The hypothesis may thus be suggested that ille occurs as a marker of nominative nominals which occur in “atypical” combinations of syntactic and pragmatic functions and in correlation with a marked linear order. In a second step, this analysis is checked against a further corpus, drawn from St. Augustine’s Confessiones where, again, ille is found either as a marker of nominals which, in addition to functioning as arguments, have a predicative and rhematic value, or as a marker of nominals which occur in propositional structures where other nominal (or adjectival) elements are involved as predicates as well.

Abstract:

Antropolinguistik menempatkan bahasa sebagai kajian utama dan keberadaannya dalam berbagai aspek kebahasaan. Jika dalil tersebut digunakan, lirik sebagai aspek kebahasaan bergayut dengan musikalitas nyanyian “Ille Le” ‗nyanyian tidur‘ masyarakat Melolo. Secara lebih spesifik ditetapkan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana kajian antropolinguistik bentuk lingual umbu nyanyian tidur “Ille Le” pada masyarakat Melolo, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Berdasarkan kajian pustaka diperoleh research gap yaitu penelitian spesifik antropolinguitik kajian nyanyian budaya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah semiotik kognitif berdasarkan prinsip semiotik de Saussure. Metode penelitian menggunakan ancangan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi.. Hasil penelitian 1) lirik patriarkat terlihat dalam struktur syair “Ille Le” pada kata umbu ‗anak laki-laki‘; 2) lirik ini dinyanyikan berulang dalam ambitus nada pentatonik. Nyanyian “Ille Le” menceritakan kehidupan masyarakat Melolo pada seorang bayi laki-laki „umbu‟.. Kebaruan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kajian antropolinguistik yang berkaitan dengan lirik nyanyian budaya. Bentuk lingual yang khas tidak dapat dipisahkan dari bentuk musikalnya. Anthropolinguistics places language as the main study and its existence in various aspects of language. Anthropolinguistics in this study relates to the lyrics and musicality of the song “Ille Le” „sleep song‟ of the people of Melolo, East Nusa Tenggara. The problem in this research is how the anthropolinguistic study of patriarchal lyrics in „“Ille Le”‟ sleep songs in the Melolo community, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Based on the literature review, it was obtained research gap are specific anthropolinguistic research on cultural singing studies. The song „“Ille Le”‟ can be grouped into oral literature, the linguistic aspect is influenced by a unique ethnic music style. The theory used in this research is cognitive semiotics based on de Saussure semiotics. The research method used a qualitative design with a fenomenology approach. The results of the study 1) patriarchal lyrics can be seen in the poetry structure “Ille Le” in the word umbu 'boys'; 2) these lyrics are sung over and over in ambitus pentatonic tones. The song “Ille Le” seeks the life of the Melolo community in a baby boy 'umbu'. The distinctive lingual form cannot be separated from the musical form.

Abstract:

Device-to-device (D2D) underlaid cellular networks are regarded as an emerging network structure in the 5G systems. We study the covert communication of such networks consisting of a base station BS, a cellular user Alice, a D2D pair with a transmitter Dt and a receiver Dr , and a warden W illie. To conduct the covert communication, Alice adopts the truncated channel inversion power control (CIPC) to hide itself from W illie, where the received signal power at BS is fixed avoiding channel estimation for decoding Alice’s signal. Meanwhile, the interference generated by the D2D pair reusing the spectrum of Alice is exploited to confuse W illie. To understand the fundamental covert rate performance in the considered network, we first provide a theoretical model for characterizing the detection error probability of W illie as well as the effective covert rate at BS under the truncated CIPC scheme. Based on the main results, we then explore the effective covert rate maximization under the constraint of the detection error probability to identify the optimal truncated CIPC scheme designing and interference management. Finally, extensive numerical results are presented to illustrate the impacts of the truncated CIPC and interference from Dt on the covert performance.

Summary:Does the system of anaphorics and deictics already change in the first part of sixth century? In this study we have examined the uses of is, ille and ipse in a few of the Admonitiones of Caesarius Arelatensis. The data have been compared with these of Cicero's Pro Milone. Caesarius uses all the forms, but we note that ille is more frequent. This deictic is expanding to the detriment of is. Also it appears that the use as attributive adjective is much less frequent in Caesarius than in Cicero. What is the reason why the use of ille will develop in late common Latin? The meaning of this deictic is very extensive: it points out to a breaking, an innovation or an opposition. It's true when the speaker continues to say words he hopes he expresses something new. Furthermore the meaning of ille is not very far from ipse which means: “He /she /it and nobody /nothing else”.

Abstract Adopting a multistate life table approach, this study estimates number of years the very old in China expect to live in an independent living arrangement (alone or with spouse only)—an estimate we term “independent living life expectancy” (ILLE)—as opposed to in coresidence with adult children or others. We also estimate how ILLE and proportion of total life expectancy (TLE) residing independently has changed over time. The backdrop for this study is a society experiencing both increasing longevity and social changes that influence the tendency to live in an independent living arrangement. The study concentrates on assessing whether changes in ILLE match or surpass gains in TLE experienced by oldest-old Chinese adults. Data are from the 2002–2014 Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey, and estimation is conducted using the Stochastic Population Analysis for Complex Events software. Results suggest that on balance, gains in ILLE are proportionately greater than gains in TLE, indicating an expansion of ILLE for most Chinese elders. Males, septuagenarian females, and disabled septuagenarians are the most likely to be living proportionately longer lives in an independent living arrangement. In contrast, extremely old (nonagenarian and centenarian) females and extremely old disabled individuals are least likely to have experienced dramatic changes in proportion of life residing independently. The findings imply some support for the hypothesis that given the maintenance of family solidarity in China, those in greatest need are least likely to encounter the most extreme changes toward independent living arrangements.

Abstract:

Catalepton 10 (Sabinus ille) is a unique survival from antiquity: it is the only parody of an entire poem to reach us, and is written in pure iambic trimeters, a near intractable metre. Addressed to Sabinus, an upstart muleteer, the poem launches a stinging attack at him, and draws attention to his status as a parvenu. It remains incredibly close to its charming model—Catullus 4 (Phaselos ille)—in structural, lexical, stylistic and metrical terms, but rather different in purport. In attempting to reassess a number of problems in the text of the poem, the textual critic ought largely to be guided by the relationship of Sabinus ille to its model, as it is clear that the author of Catalepton 10 was an incredibly close reader of the Catullan text and sought not only to imitate through parody but also to subvert and deflate his predecessor's poem.

Abstract:

This paper examines the status of the Latin demonstrative ille and the intensifier ipse, which are the sources of definite articles in modern Romance languages. My analysis is based on the text of the Itinerarium Egeriae from the end of the fourth century AD. Using the approach of cognitive linguistics, I suggest how the articloid could be defined and how it could be distinguished semantically from its source element. I argue that both ille and ipse are used as articloids in the text. However, the original demonstrative meaning of ille and the original intensifying meaning of ipse are also attested, and in certain cases; though redundant, their use can be caused by the specific stylistics of the text. Furthermore, ipse has developed an additional meaning that establishes identity through similarity, and which might have led the path to its further grammaticalization. Therefore, both ille and ipse have a spectrum of interrelated meanings that range from those attested in Classical Latin to grammatical usage as articloids. However, as definiteness markers, their usage is not extended into contexts reserved for definite articles in languages with fully grammaticalized definiteness markers and hence its use as an articloid in the Latin of the fourth century AD could have been typologically equivalent to that of the articloid in the Baltic languages.

Abstract: This article addresses the issue of referential choice in Latin, more in particular the anaphoric use of the demonstrative pronoun ille (‘that’, ‘that one’). Ille is usually considered as a relatively ‘heavy’ anaphoric device, which is typically used in environments of participant interference and topic discontinuity, i.e. in cases of problematic accessibility. On the basis of a corpus of Classical Latin narrative texts, it will be argued that this is too simplistic a view, and that in order to explain a considerable number of ‘deviant’ instances of ille, it is necessary to take not only the linear structure of the text into account, but also the global, hierarchical discourse structure. In this context the article will focus especially on the type of structure that is imposed on a text by the alternation of so-called discourse modes. More in general, it shows how ille’s specific deictic value of ‘remoteness’ can be traced in all of its anaphoric uses.

Por otra parte, se identifica como testimonio seguro de Fortleben de Tuseredo el anónimo tratado Serpens ille veternosus, confirmando así una propuesta aducida en su momento por Madoz. El asunto da pie a proponer una datación más precisa para el Serpens ille veternosus, discutir sus posibles autorías y analizar el contexto en el que éste pudo haber sido escrito.

Bu çalışmanın amacı Adana iline bağlı Türk, Muhacir ve Arap köylerinde yaşayan ve tarımsal faaliyetlerle uğraşan ailelerdeki tarımsal ve toplumsal değişme eğilimlerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla kuşaklararası analiz yapılarak elde edilen veriler kuşaklararasında karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın ana materyalini; Adana iline bağlı Türk, Muhacir ve Arap köylerinde yaşayan çiftçilerden bireysel görüşme yoluyla elde edilen birincil veriler oluşturmaktadır. Bireysel görüşme ile birlikte, araştırma konusu ile ilgili her köyde derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmış, gözlemlerden yararlanılmış ve diğer kişi ve kurumlar tarafından yapılmış ikincil verilerden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma alanındaki kuşaklararası farklılıklar değerlendirildiğinde, birinci kuşaktan üçüncü kuşağa doğru gerek demografik gerekse tarımsal yapıda önemli değişmeler olduğu saptanmıştır. Tarımsal yapı ile ilgili olarak ortalama çiftçi yaşının yükselmesi ve üçüncü kuşağın tarımı terk etme eğiliminin yüksekliği bu araştırmanın en önemli bulguları olarak saptanmıştır. Buna bağlı olarak bu araştırma sonucunda, üçüncü kuşağı kırsal alanda tutmaya yönelik sosyo- ekonomik ve tarımsal politikaların uygulanması önerilmektedir.

In the English Reformation, led by the king, the bishopric was reformed, and in Hungary, too, the office of bishop survived. Did reformers like John Calvin fundamentally reject this office, or did they primarily attack its abuse? Investigation of the early work of Calvin shows a focus on the meaning of the biblical term ‘overseer’ and on preaching as the primary function of the episcopacy. While the title of bishop is reserved for the one head of the church, the office of the preacher is brought to a higher level. As moderator of the Company of Pastors in Geneva, Calvin would have a standing in the city comparable to the ousted bishop.

This study evaluates the economic outcome of a study on confined lamb crossings for meat production taking into account two weaning ages and two slaughter weights: weaning age of 60 days with two slaughter weights respectively of 32 and 38 kg, and weaning age of 90 days and 32 and 38 kg slaughter weights. The genetic groups used in the study were Dorper, Ille-de-France, Santa Inês, Texel crossed with the Brazilian Santa Inês breed. Economic performances expressed as average profit per head varied depending on genetic groups and slaughter ages and weights. The Dorper was more profitable at 60 days of weaning age and slaughter weight of 32 kg (profit R $ / head = 37.14). Under the experimental conditions prevailing in the study for the 60-day weaning age and 38 kg slaughter weight, Ille-de-Fance had the highest profit (R $ / head = 67.72). Santa Inês obtained the best economic result with weaning at 90 days and slaughter weight of 32 kg (profit R $ / head = 59.46). The highest average profit per head fell to the genetic group ½ Ille de France and ½ Santa Inês (profit R $ / head = 105.03), with 90 days of age at weaning and slaughter weight of 38 kg.

Ettevõtlikkuse ja ettevõtluspädevuse toetamiseks on loodud mitmeid programme (Junior Achievementi õpilasfirmade programm, ettevõtlusteater, ettevõtlike koolide võrgustik, ettevõtlusõppe valikaine), mis on eri rõhuasetusega ning milles kasutatakse eri meetodeid. Seetõttu on oluline kirjeldada programmide tähendust ja erisusi ettevõtlikkuspädevuse arendamise kontekstis. Artiklis võetakse vaatluse alla enamik Eesti ettevõtlusprogramme, käsitledes neid vähe uuritud perspektiivist: milline on programmide mõju arenguuskumustele ning sotsiaalsetele oskustele? Uuringu valimisse kuuluvad üldhariduskoolide 8. klasside õpilased, kes kas osalevad (sekkumisgrupp, N = 198) või ei osale ettevõtlusõppe programmides (kontrollgrupp, N = 125). Õppijaid hinnatakse arenguuskumuste ja enesehinnanguliste sotsiaalsete oskuste alusel enne ja pärast ettevõtlusõppe programmis osalemist. Tulemused viitavad, et arenguuskumustes ja enesehinnangulistes sotsiaalsetes oskustes ei ilmne erinevusi ei enne ega pärast programmis osalemist, eri programmide ega sekkumis- ja kontrollgrupi vahel. Samuti ei ilmne eri võimekusega õpilaste rühmade vahel uuritud näitajate puhul statistiliselt olulisi erinevusi. Üks võimalik selgitus tulemustele on, et motivatsiooni või sotsiaalsete oskustega seotud alapädevusi ei teadvustata ettevõtluspädevuse osana. Tulemused osutavad võimalustele, kuidas saaks ettevõtlusprogrammide õpetajaid ja õppijaid senisest veelgi paremini toetada, näiteks aidates ettevõtlikkuspädevust alapädevuste kaupa mõtestada. Tingginya minat kunjungan birdwatching dalam objek hutan, tentunya harus didukung dengan adanya keragaman jenis satwa burung yang dapat menunjang minat kunjungan dan lama tinggal wisatawan dalam lokasi objek. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui jenis dan keragaman satwa burung di kawasan hutan Wae Illie Resort Masihulan untuk dikembangkan sebagai objek daya tarik birdwatching. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, dan wawancara. Metode pengumplan data burung menggunakan metode point count yang dibuat dalam 7 plot. Pengamatan setiap titik hitung berbentuk lingkaran dengan jari-jari 50 meter, waktu pengamatan setiap titik hitung adalah 10-20 menit, jarak antar titik sejauh 250 m, waktu pencatatan dilakukan mulai jam 05:30 sampai 18:30 WIT. Penentuan responden menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data daya tarik burung sebagai obejk birdwatching berdasarkan persepsi dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi jenis burung yang ditemukan sepanjang jalur pengamatan Kawasan Wae Illie sebanyak 33 jenis dari 14 famili, jenis yang mendominasi dari famili Psittacidae 10 jenis. Persepsi daya tarik burung berdasarkan responden menunjukkan bahwa jenis endemic, dan dilindungi dari famili Psittacidae memiliki nilai skoring tertinggi dengan kategori sangat menarik 90%. Rata-rata skoring penilaian burung untuk minat birdwatching berkisar 2,66-3,00 (sangat menarik). ABSTRACT The high interest in birdwatching visits in forest objects, of course, must be supported by the diversity of bird species that can support the interest of visiting and the length of stay of tourists in the object location. The purpose of this study was to determine the species and diversity of birds in the forest area of Wae Illie Resort Masihulan to be developed as an object of attraction for birdwatching. Methods of collecting data using the method of observation, and interviews. The bird data collection method used the point count method which was made in 7 (seven) plots. Observation of each counting point in the form of a circle with a radius of 50 meters, the observation time for each counting point is 10-20 minutes, the distance between points is 250 m, and the recording time is from 05:30 to 18:30 WIT. Determination of respondents using an accidental sampling technique. Data analysis of bird attractiveness as a birdwatching object based on perception was carried out descriptively. The results showed that the potential of bird species found along the observation path of the Wae Illie area were 33 species from 14 families, with the dominant species from the Psittacidae family of 10 species. Perceptions of the attractiveness of birds based on respondents indicate that endemic and protected species from the Psittacidae family have the highest scoring value with a very attractive category of 90%. The average bird rating score for birdwatching interest ranges from 2.66 to 3.00 (very interesting).
