Abstract:
Information plays an important role in the development of every field. Therefore a brief knowledge regarding information sources is necessary to function in any field. There are many information sources about scientific and technical subjects. In this context there are many reference sources in Chemistry too. Chemistry is one important part of the science which deals with the study of the composition of substances and the chemical changes that they undergo. The purpose of this report is to present at least 25 reference sources in Chemistry with brief information about each source. Reference sources in chemistry are best organised than other subject's literature. This report's first two chapters deal with the background, definition, need and utility, categories, criteria of evaluation of reference sources. Chapter three list 27 reference sources, with brief evaluation of each reference source.

Abstract:
The Academic library plays an important role within the organisational mission of the university, since it helps in the development of its inner values and contributes to the achievement of the pedagogical and scientific plans. In the above context the reference librarianship is no longer an information provider, he becomes an assertive and pro-active part of scientific knowledge growth. In this dissertation, the intention is to examine and evaluate the intermediary role played by the health area reference librarianship. This evaluation will be done under an academic and medical perspective. The reference librarianship should have the users‟ needs at the centre of his role. He should always use the information and communication technologies available; however, the ethical part of the process cannot be forgotten. In this dissertation, the study approach used was similar to the one usually used on case studies. Our case study basis is the 250 health area teachers of Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa. The inquiry was the method used in order to obtain the data for this research. Our case study conclusions may give some idea about the new profile of the reference librarianship of the academic context within the health area, which are as follows: 1) the reference librarianship has to co-operate with the students and teachers in the classes, in other words, they have to start working in the field instead of being „closed‟ in the academic library; 2) within the library, the reference librarianship should support the increase of information consultancy; the librarian should have the capacity to use his skills in order to help the user; 3) the user would prefer the librarian to assist/guide in the research process rather than using the librarian‟s skills to provide the research material; 4) the user should be aware that a fee may be payable if he requires an urgent and quality research service which is/can be provided by a skilled professional (reference librarianship); 5) the reference librarianship can be helpful in the field, when working with a health care team (hospital) based on their access and capacity to have the latest news on health research discoveries and being able to resolve medical doubts due to their capacity to deal with problem-based learning.

Abstract:
Implementation of a project pilot of the Electronic Reference Service of the Pedro Grases Library of the Metropolitan University in Caracas, Venezuela. The paper evaluates the performance of the reference service in the first five months of year 2006 (January to May) from the statistics for information requests received by electronic mail and some by telephone route. These requests were classified into different types of services: book acquisition orders, article search, bibliography elaboration, password requests, requests for tutorials, classes and tours, and interlibrary loans. Also the requests are classified chronologically, by type of user, area of knowledge, and language required for the response. A series of series of recommendations for the definitive establishment of the Service is presented, and activities to complement and expand the project.

Abstract:
The scientific documentation looms, together with access to information and management of their tools is fundamental in the training and development of professionals that enable scientific and technological progress. Particularly in the health sciences and medicine precisely this development is one of the most remarkable, considering the medical documentation the most complex of all. The highly computerized technological equipment and diagnostic techniques applied in the development of this discipline makes the accumulation of this information and run forward at high speed, requiring an information technology supports this development. Another reason is that doctors do not have the time to search, access, and read as much information circulating, not to have the resources and skills to track, making the documentary and the protagonists informationists direct access and selection information. This is why the demands and requirements of the Librarian Specialized Health Medicine area must be consistent with the requirements and demands of the discipline. It examines how the documentary preparation have when entering the workforce specialized in medicine and the difficulties faced when it comes to search, select and retrieve this type of information, to provide its users an accurate document, according to the professional requirements requested. Mastering English, managing databases, medical vocabulary, knowledge of anatomy, and highly specific subject of the documentary require preparation and specialized academic training. Whereas to enter the labor market does not have these essential tools for good performance, higher education should be largely to provide an academic level commensurate with the needs of librarians.

Abstract:
The investigation's main subject is based on the collection of periodicals, and other resources such as reference materials and databases which belong to Hemeroteca de la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral. These are elements that provide a service of legal reference to which the community of users and investigators have a free access. The work was established upon a normative theoretical framework, international guidelines applied to academic and research libraries, the Conspectus model, circulation and consultation data and opinions from experts based on other works. At local level the contribution of the Methodological Guide of Evaluations of Collections made by Universidad Nacional de La Plata is taken into account. All that was mentioned before allows us to make an analysis of this collection in particular and consequently, to lay foundations on future actions to take part concerning this thematic.

Abstract:
Most Libraries nowadays offer their catalogues or databases online, but do not adapt their reference services to the new environment. The purpose of this masters' thesis is to analyse what has changed in the field of reference work and to describe how new products and services can help librarians in responding to this development. Firstly, changes in reference work due to the increased use of the Internet and electronic media are examined. The main points discussed are increased end-user searching, accompanied by changes in the way students do their research, electronic publishing, digitisation and the impact all these factors have on reference work. This is followed by an analysis of new products and services (virtual reference, personalised and convenience services, user education in information literacy, hybrid library concept). Finally, some strategies for improving the web presence of reference on the website of the Austrian National Library are developed. The main findings were that libraries need to be proactive and aware of the fact that there is a segmented user group with different needs. The main focus should be to provide users with a seamless access to all the information resources of a library.

Abstract:
Knowledge is the object of investigation and discussion; Citizens use it critically, transforming it into tools that allow them to improve their lives individually and collectively. The social and hierarchical differences that historically determined access to formative capital have blurred in the last century, and a wide variety of forms of culture are increasingly consumed, regardless of social, economic or cultural level. Among the cultural centers most visited by the citizens we find the museums. These knowledge centers work so that their communicative purpose is in tune with the content they offer and try to respond to the expectations and needs of visitors. The analysis of whether the answers they offer are adjusted to the demands of their visitors is the object of this work. It is a meeting that brings together disciplines such as information sciences, social sciences and museology, and which has made it possible to obtain an approach to the motivations and demands that some of the visitors to the Museu de les Ciències de Valencia have when they visit a museum.

Abstract:
In every library, users’ information needs should be represented, thus guaranteeing equity and inclusion in terms of information, aiming to build citizenship. This thesis deals with such needs in the GLTTIBQ community. APPROACH There exists an evident lack of information in terms of users’ studies in the GLTTIBQ community, which uncovers the need to approach ways of rendering accessible and inclusive services by means of a pertinent collection to enable their members to feel identified with their sexual choice. The aim of this work is to try to find a remedy to this situation, in Spanish. DATA AND METHODOLOGY A quali-quantitative documentary approach was carried out by reviewing the literature in the Library Literature Science Abstracts (LISA) database over 2015 2016, to perform a comparative study of the recovered documents. CONCLUSIONS The main result arising from this research is the shortage of literature on the subject and the lack of scientific production in Spanish in the analyzed database.
