Abstract:
This study investigated the impact of various reactive diluents on viscosity of uncured mixture at 50 °C over a 12-week period. This criterion is important to predict the shelf life of uncured composition. Studied mono-functional acrylate monomers were: hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA), hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate (THFA), isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA), isobornyl acrylate (IBOA), 2-(2-Ethoxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate (EOEOEA), acryloyl morpholine (ACMO), glacial methacrylic acid (GMAA) and phosphate acrylate monomer (PAM); and various solvents: isopropanol(IP) ethyl acetate (EA), butyl acetate (BA). There was found the difference of effect on the systems viscosity in time between the mono-functional monomers and solvents. HPMA and IPA showed the most stable viscosity values in time.

Abstract:
The people of Rowoboni Village have not optimized the potential of water hyacinths in Lake Rawapening. People only work as laborers picking water hyacinths and selling raw to collectors. It does not improve the community’s economy because the selling price of water hyacinths is still lower than that of water hyacinths processed into handicraft products. This study aims to describe the process of water hyacinth Iboni craft community empowerment to improve community welfare and economy. This qualitative approach used in-depth interview techniques with 14 participants consisting of one manager, seven workers, four devices village, one farmer, and one hyacinth collector who are considered to have precise information related to the focus of the research. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity applied source triangulation techniques, and the data were analyzed through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study show that the empowerment process of Iboni craft consists of 3 stages, namely 1) awareness and behavior formation, 2) knowledge and skills transformation, and 3) intellectual and skills enrichment or improvement. The economic impact of this empowerment program is increasing people’s income and welfare. The conclusion is that the empowerment process of Iboni Craft consists of 3 stages: 1) awareness and behavior formation through Dialogical communication or word of mouth to the public, 2) knowledge and skills transformation through group training, and independent training with the manager of Iboni Craft, 3) intellectual and skills enrichment or improvement where the workforce begins to produce independently following consumer demand. The economic impact of this empowerment program is an increase in family income, which can provide the family with a second source of income.

Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this study was to use the isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA) as a combining or substituent diluent monomer in the resin matrix of dental resin composites. Thus, the resin matrix was formulated with 60 wt% of BisGMA and 40 wt% of diluent monomers. TEGDMA as the only diluent monomer was used as control with 40 wt%, while total substitution of TEGDMA was done with 40 wt% of IBOMA. The combination of IBOMA and TEGDMA was done with 20 wt% of each monomer. To the resin matrix, 65 wt% of filler particles was added. Degree of conversion (DC) using FT-IR, flexural strength (FS), flexural modulus (FM), polymerization shrinkage by gap formation (GF), Knoop hardness (KH) and solvent degradation (SD) were evaluated. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey’s test (α=0.05; b=0.2). The results showed that reducing or substituting TEGDMA using IBOMA did not affect the DC (0.085), FS (p=0.886) or FM (p=0.414). Also, when IBOMA was used, lower GF was found in comparison to the control containing only TEGDMA as the diluent monomer (p=0.032). However, even though all composites presented reduction in KH during the SD test, the combination of IBOMA and TEGDMA showed similar reduction in KHN in comparison to the control group (p=0.001), while the total substitution of TEGDMA with IBOMA decreased KHN after SD (p=0.041). Thus, the combination of IBOMA and TEGDMA seem to reduce SD and GF without affecting the properties of resin composites.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this research was to synthesize a novel cross-linked latex copolymerised by butyl acrylate (BA), isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA), hydroxy propyl methacrylate (HPMA) and dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (DFMA). IBOMA is a very useful functional monomer. Its molecular structure not only contains bornyl acetate alkoxy but also includes a double bond, which can be copolymerised with other unsaturated monomers via free radical polymerization. The large nonpolar bicyclic alkyl in bornyl acetate alkoxy offers the polymer chain strong space steric protection, which endows the polymer with some special properties. Design/methodology/approach – The semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerisation technology was adopted to copolymerise BA, IBOMA, HPMA and DFMA in the water phase, which was initiated with potassium persulfate (KPS) and emulsified with the mixed surfactants of sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and OP-10. Findings – The particle size of the latex decreases with an increase in the amount of IBOMA. All the latexes have good mechanical stability and calcium ion stability. The latex has good film-forming property when the IBOMA amount is controlled moderately. The optimal IBOMA amount is 10.00 g. The thermal stability and water resistance of the film are improved. Practical implications – The latexes can be applied as a binder of coatings and adhesions. Originality/value – The effect of the amount of IBOMA and BA on the properties of the resultant latex and its film were investigated in detail. In comparison with the latexes copolymerised without IBOMA, the novel latex has better thermal stability and water resistance.

Abstract:
Preparations of the root bark of Tabernanthe iboga have long been used in Central and West African traditional medicine to combat fatigue, as a neuro-stimulant in rituals, and for treatment of diabetes. The principal alkaloid of T. iboga, ibogaine, has attracted attention in many countries around the world for providing relief for opioid craving in drug addicts. Using a plant metabolomics approach, we detected five phenolic compounds, including 3-O-caffeoylquinic acid, and 30 alkaloids, seven of which were previously reported from T. iboga root bark. Following a report that iboga extracts contain insulinotropic agents, we aimed to determine the potential alleviating effects of the water extract of iboga root bark on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced hyperglycemia as well as its effects on cognitive function in male C57BL/6J mice. Feeding a HFD to mice for 10 weeks produced manifestations of metabolic syndrome such as increased body weight and increased plasma levels of glucose, triacylglycerols, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, insulin, leptin, and pro-inflammatory mediators (IL-6, MCP-1, ICAM-1), as compared to mice fed a low-fat diet (LFD). Supplementation of HFD with iboga extract at ibogaine doses of 0.83 (low) and 2.07 (high) mg/kg/day did not improve these HFD-induced metabolic effects except for a reduction of plasma MCP-1 in the low dose group, indicative of an anti-inflammatory effect. When the HFD mice were tested in the water maze, the high-dose iboga extract caused hippocampus-dependent impairments in spatial learning and memory, as compared to mice receiving only a HFD.

Abstract:
Fast-growing poplar has become an extensively planted fast-growing forest tree species because of its short plantation rotation, lightweight character, and strong adaptability. However, fast-growing poplar usually exhibits some disadvantageous properties, such as inferior mechanical properties, high hygroscopicity, and poor dimensional stability, which limits its applications to a great extent. Herein, a simple method for improving the water resistance and mechanical properties of fast-growing poplar wood using the biobased monomer isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA) was investigated. Wood/PIBOMA composites were prepared by impregnating the wood matrix with IBOMA ethanol solution, and then the IBOMA in the wood matrix was heated to initiate in situ polymerization. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to investigate the properties of fast-growing wood/PIBOMA composites. The results showed that the IBOMA successfully penetrated the wood structure and polymerized in the cell walls and cell lumens. Thereby, the water resistance and mechanical properties of the fast-growing poplar were effectively improved. In addition, the water uptake of the wood decreased from 168.3% to 35.8% after impregnation with the 90% IBOMA solution. The modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), and compression strength (CS) of the 90% wood/PIBOMA composites were increased by 82.7, 28.6, and 2.3%, respectively.

Dengan adanya peningkatan jumlah pariwisata setiap tahunnya, maka perlu adanya sarana untuk penginapan hotel resort yang memiliki standard bintang 5 dengan fasilitas yang terpenuhi. Perancangan hotel resort pada kawasan Pantai Iboih untuk memberikan fasilitas kepada parawisata yang ingin bermalam di Pantai Iboih. Pada era berkembang saat ini banyak muncul berbagai konsep tema arsitektur, agar fasad yang didesain pada hotel resort dapat menampilkan kesan yang menarik dan nyaman bagi wisatawan maka dalam perancangan ini menerapkan konsep arsitektur kontemporer baik pada interior maupun eksterior bangunan dengan penekanan rancangan yang menggunakan warna-warna netral sesuai dengan standard konsep arsitektur kontemporer. Arsitektur kontemporer adalah arsitektur yang memiliki kebebasan untuk berekspresi dan berkreasi, dapat menampilkan suatu yang berbeda dari aliran terbaru. Diharapkan dengan adanya hasil rancangan hotel resort di Pantai Iboih dapat mendukung fasilias bagi wisatawan dan menjadikan rancangan sebagai tempat wisata.

AbstrakTaman Wisata Alam Laut (TWAL) Pulau Weh merupakan kawasan konservasi yang dikelola oleh Badan Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) Banda Aceh. TWA Laut Pulau Weh terletak di Desa Iboih dan masuk ke dalam Wilayah Hukom Adat Panglima Laot Lhok Iboih. Keberadaan Hukom Adat Laot memberikan dampak secara ekologi, sosial ekonomi, dan tata kelola TWA Laut Pulau Weh. Selain itu, sistem pengelolaan berdasarkan hukum adat dapat dijadikan rujukan dalam menyusun kebijakan atau strategi pengeloaan TWA Laut Pulau Weh ke depan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghitung dan mengestimasi tingkat keberlanjutan pengelolaan TWA Laut Pulau Weh berdasarkan Hukom Adat Laot Lhok Iboih. Metode yang digunakan adalah multi dimensional scalling (MDS) berdasarkan tiga dimensi yaitu ekologi, sosial ekonomi dan tata kelola. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dimensi tata kelola dan sosial ekonomi berada pada kategori cukup keberlanjutan dengan indeks 59,98 dan 56,75, sedangkan dimensi ekologi berada pada kategori kurang berkelanjutan dengan indeks 46,94. Indeks dan status keberlanjutan menunjukkan bahwa, sistem pengelolaan berdasarkan Hukom Adat Laot Lhok Iboih pada dimensi tata kelola dan sosial ekonomi cukup memberikan dampak terhadap keberlanjutan pengelolaan TWA Laut Pulau Weh.AbstractMarine Recreational Park (MRP) Weh Island is a conservation area managed by Natural Resources Conservation Agency Banda Aceh. The MRP is located at Iboih village and it is also inside the area of local customary Law of the Sea Lhok Iboih. The existence of customary Law of the Sea affects the management of MRP in terms of ecology and social economy. Apart from that, the local customary management system could be used as a reference in finalizing the policy and strategy of the management of MRP Weh Island in the future. The purpose of this research is to calculate and to estimate the sustainability level of the MRP Weh Island management based on customary Law of the Sea Lhok Iboih. The method used is multi dimensional scaling (MDS) that is based on 3 dimensions i.e. ecology, social economy, and management. The analysis result indicates that the dimension of management and social economy are arguably sustainable with index 59.98 and 56.75, while the dimension of ecology falls into less sustainable level with index 46.94. The index and sustainability status indicate that the management system based on customary Law of the Sea Lhok Iboih specifically on the dimension of management and social economy influence the sustainability of MRP Weh Island management.

Abstract:
The first stage of the drug discovery process involves the identification of small compounds with biological activity. Iboga alkaloids are monoterpene indole alkaloids (MIAs) containing a fused isoquinuclidine-tetrahydroazepine ring. Both the natural products and the iboga-inspired synthetic analogs have shown a wide variety of biological activities. Herein, we describe the chemoenzymatic preparation of a small library of novel N-indolylethyl-substituted isoquinuclidines as iboga-inspired compounds, using toluene as a starting material and an imine Diels–Alder reaction as the key step in the synthesis. The new iboga series was investigated for its potential to promote the release of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) by C6 glioma cells, and to inhibit the growth of infective trypanosomes. GDNF is a neurotrophic factor widely recognized by its crucial role in development, survival, maintenance, and protection of dopaminergic neuronal circuitries affected in several neurological and psychiatric pathologies. Four compounds of the series showed promising activity as GDNF releasers, and a leading structure (compound 11) was identified for further studies. The same four compounds impaired the growth of bloodstream Trypanosoma brucei brucei (EC50 1–8 μM) and two of them (compounds 6 and 14) showed a good selectivity index.

Indonesia terletak di pusat keanekaragaman terumbu karang dunia. Keanekaragaman hayati ini menekankan pentingnya Indonesia dalam upaya global untuk melestarikan sumber daya laut. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji struktur komunitas karang dan kompoisis ikan terumbu yang terdapat pada dua lokasi yang berbeda di dua titik di perairan Sabang, meliputi Pulau Rubiah dan Iboih sebagai perwakilan dari perairan Sabang bagian Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2019. Metode LIT digunakan dalam penelitian ini (Line Intercept Transect) dengan panjang transek 100m. Analisis data karang meliputi persen penutupan karang dan kelimpahan ikan karang dan indeks keanekaragamannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase tutupan karang di lokasi Pulau Rubiah dan perairan Iboih sebesar 27,76±5,30% dan 26,12±5,85% yang termasuk kedalam kondisi sedang. Dilokasi pertama karang didominasi oleh genus Acropora (16,74%) sedangkan pada lokasi kedua Heliopora (18,45). Komposisi ikan pada lokasi pertama dan kedua didominasi oleh Acanthuridae dan Pomacentridae dengan persentase yang berbeda pada setiap lokasi. Indeks keanekaragaman pada dua lokasi berada pada kriteria sedang yaitu 2,862 (Pulau Rubiah) dan 2,816 (Iboih).

Abstract The objectives of this study was to analyze the regulation system and to recommend the management of empowerment strategy for Panglima Laot Lhok Iboih, Sabang. This study used qualitative approach with a triangulation method. Data were collected by means of purposive and snowball sampling. Analysis used in this study were normative juridical, describtive, and SWOT analysis. The results obtained from this study were Panglima Laot Lhok Iboih has implemented several roles: (1) Closed area system in the waters area of Lhok Iboih as conservation and marine tourism area, then the prohibitation of the use of destructive tools and methods of fishing, prohibition day for fishing, prohibition to harvest ornamental fish, and prohibition all activities that damage the environment in the Lhok Iboih. (2) Implement sanction for anyone who break the rules, that is: consisting of payment penalty in the form of money, livestock, fishing gears seizure, reconducted the Khanduri Laot; Enpowerment strategies of Panglima Laot were conducted by benefiting the strengths and opportunities (SO), which were: the increase of communities role on socializing sea customary law to tourists, collaborative cooperation between Panglima Laot and tourism operators on operational monitoring of SATGAS, the increase of institutional capacity building of Panglima Laot for monitoring and managing fisheries through coaching and training in collaboration with government and NGOs, the providing of infrastructure and facilities coordinated with goverment. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data dasar (data base) tentang model kegiatan pemberdayaan melalui penyuluhan pertanian kerja sama perguruan tinggi dengan masyarakat tani Gampong Pulo Iboih sebagai desa binaan Universitas Malikussaleh. Secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi petani lada terhadap pelaksanaan penyuluhan kerjasama perguruan tinggi di Gampong Pulo Iboih. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode penelitian kualitatif studi kasus pada kelompok petani lada dan pengolahan datanya statistik non parametric dengan pengukuran data mengunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi petani lada terhadap penyuluh pertanian yang sangat baik dirasakan oleh petani lada Gampong Pulo Iboih, secara berurutan meliputi; (1) peran penyuluh dalam melakukan pelatihan budidaya, (2), peran penyuluh sebagai pihak penghubung antara petani lada dengan pihak luar (3) peran penyuluh pertanian perecanaan dan pengawasan program budidaya lada serta (4) peran penyuluh dalam penguatan kelompok . Pesepsi petani Petani lada terhadap peran penyuluh dari perguruan tinggi dalam tahapan proses penyuluhan pertanian pada pelaksanaan penyuluhanan pertanian secara berurutan meliputi; (1) ketepatan pengunaan media, (2) kesesuaian metoda penyuluhan, (3) kesesuaian materi penyuluhan dan (4) intensitas pelaksanaan penyuluhan.

Setelah pelatihan, diharapkan mereka paham dan memiliki pengetahuan mengenai aspek-aspek dalam pengelolaan sebuah destinasi. Kehadiran wisatawan di Kota Sabang, baik wisatawan domestik maupun wisatawan mancanegara sangat diharapkan oleh pariwisata Kota Sabang. Oleh karena itu bagaimana ‘menahan’ wisatawan agar mau tinggal lebih lama dan mengeksplorasi wisata Kota Sabang sangat penting dilakukan. Untuk itu kuncinya adalah terletak pada pengelolaan destinasi wisata yang tepat. Seiring peningkatan kemampuan pengelola dan warga tersebut, diharapkan pelaku jasa wisata setempat semakin profesional yang pada akhirnya dapat juga meningkatkan kepuasan wisatawan/pengunjung. Abstract:
Iboih is one of the villages located in the western area of Weh Island which has been popular as the marine tourism potential. The mangrove ecotourism potential has not been well developed. This study aims to review the mangrove ecosystem suitability as ecotourism area in Iboih Village – Sabang. The methodology used was an explorative survey method. The method of potential suitability determination was scoring and weighting achieved from each parameter reviewed consisting of mangrove density, mangrove species, tidal, biota object, area characteristics, and accessibility. The output of the study found 3 (three) mangrove species including Rhizhophora mucronata, Rhizhophora apiculata, and Avicennia alba. There are supporting biota objects consisting of aquatic dan land fauna. Based on the matrix of potential suitability for mangrove ecotourism, it was found that the tourism suitability index (TSI) as 82.14% indicating that the mangrove ecosystem in Iboih is very suitable for ecotourism area. The benefit of the study is to provide a contribution to science and become the facilities for environmental education and conservation to the community.

Objectives: The effect of dentin contacting materials on three-dimensional cultures of pulp-derived cells was evaluated in a dentin barrier test device using erbium-doped yttrium, aluminum, and garnet (Er:YAG) laser-treated dentin. Methods: The test materials (iBond®, G-Bond™, and Vitrebond™) were applied on laser-treated or untreated dentin discs. After 24 h of exposure with perfusion of the test chamber, cell survival was evaluated by enzyme activity and related to a nontoxic control material. The mean values of control tissues were set to represent 100% viability. Data were analyzed using Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney U test. Results: Vitrebond was the most toxic material for both laser-treated and untreated dentin. On untreated dentin, G-bond was cytotoxic to the pulp-derived cells ( p < 0.05), and iBond was similar to the negative control group ( p > 0.05). However, G-Bond and iBond were not cytotoxic when they were applied to Er:YAG laser-treated dentin ( p > 0.05). Conclusion: Er:YAG laser treatment of dentin may protect the pulp cells from toxic substances of dentin contacting restorative materials; however, this effect is material related. Taking into consideration the limitations of this in vitro study, the Er:YAG laser treatment of dentin before restoration might be an option for decreasing the cytotoxic effects of the dental materials. Further research is required for clinical applications.

An improved butterfly optimization algorithm (IBOA) is proposed to overcome the disadvantages, including slow convergence, generation of local optimum solutions, and deadlock phenomenon, of the optimization algorithm in the path planning of mobile robots. A path-planning grid model is established based on an improved obstacle model. First, the population diversity is improved by introducing kent mapping during population position renewal in the normal butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA) to enhance the global search ability of the butterfly population. Second, an adaptive weight coefficient is introduced in the renewal process of each generation to increase the convergence speed and accuracy. An opposition-based learning strategy based on convex lens imaging is introduced to help the butterfly population jump out of the local optimum. Finally, a mutation strategy is introduced to solve the path planning problem. On this basis, two path simplification strategies are proposed to make up for the shortcomings of planning paths in grid maps. The shortest path lengths solved by IBOA, BOA, and GA in the 20 × 20 map are 30.97, 31.799, and 31.799, respectively. The numbers of iterations for the shortest paths searched by IBOA, BOA, and GA are 14, 24, and 38 in that order. The shortest path lengths solved by IBOA, BOA and GA in the 40 × 40 map are 63.84, 65.60, and 65.84, respectively. The number of iterations for the shortest paths searched by IBOA, BOA and GA are 32, 40, and 46, respectively. Simulation results show that IBOA has a strong ability to solve robot path planning problems and that the proposed path simplification strategy can effectively reduce the length of the optimal path in the grid map to solve the path planning problem of mobile robots. The shortest paths solved by IBOA in 20 × 20 and 40 × 40 maps are simplified to lengths of 30.2914 and 61.03, respectively.

The Panglima Laôt has formulated and promulgated strict regulations to encourage a sustainable coastal and marine environment. The local wisdom would increase the welfare of the people living in the coastal area, and the harmonization between humans and the biosphere can be achieved.

The article is devoted to the study of the duration of phenophases of two species - Ligustrum vulgare L. and Ligustrum ibota Siebold et Zucc. in the collection of the Botanical Garden of the Ural Russian Academy of Sciences. The patterns of growth of annual vegetative shoots have been established. The average duration of growth and development of branching shoots ranges from 112 days in Ligustrum ibota to 126 days in Ligustrum vulgare. Features of the mechanisms of apical growth of vegetative shoots are manifested in the form of differences and similarities in growth rhythms. Apical growth has similar curves of seasonal dynamics in shape and is characterized by synchrony in Ligustrum vulgare, which may indicate the similarity of their mechanisms in different shoots. There are also specific characteristics in the growth rate of privets; of the two species, Ligustrum vulgare is characterized by a high rate of apical and radial growth.

ABSTRACTObjectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the bond strength of one-step adhesive systems to dry or moist dental substrate.Methods: Thirty human third molars were sectioned into two halves, in the mesio-distal direction, parallel to the long axis of the tooth. Each half was embedded in a polystyrene resin cylinder so that the buccal/lingual surface remained exposed. This exposed surface was abraded to obtain both flat exposed enamel and dentin. The samples were randomly allocated according to the adhesive system (Xeno III, Adper Prompt and iBond) and moisture condition (dry and moist). The substrates were air-dried for 30 s for dry condition, while the moist substrates were re-wet with 2.5 µl of distilled water after drying. After the adhesive procedures, two resin composite cylinders were build-up on dentin and enamel substrates, totaling four per sample. A shear load was applied to the samples at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min until failure. Data were statistically analyzed by three-way ANOVA and the Tukey test (α=0.05).Results: The evaluated one-step adhesives showed higher bond strength to dentin than enamel. The iBond presented better bond performance to moist substrate and Xeno III to dry substrate. The moisture condition did not interfere in the performance of Adper Prompt. The Xeno III and iBond presented higher bond strength than the other adhesives to both dry and moist substrates.Conclusions: The moisture condition of substrate interfered in the performance of one-step selfetching adhesives and the best moisture condition was material dependent. Microgrid optimal dispatching has become one of the core issues of microgrid energy management and integrated control, which is of great significance to reduce energy consumption and environmental pollution. As a natural heuristic algorithm, the butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA) has the advantages of simple adjustment parameters and fast convergence speed. It is widely used to solve nonlinear programming problems. However, BOA is easy to fall into local optimization and poor convergence accuracy. Therefore, an improved butterfly optimization algorithm (IBOA) based on skew tent chaotic map, Cauchy mutation, and simplex method is proposed, and compared with particle swarm optimization (PSO), whale optimization algorithm (WOA), sparrow search algorithm (SSA), and BOA, the results show that the IBOA has high convergence speed and optimization accuracy. Finally, the IBOA is used to solve the optimization model. The simulation results show that the IBOA can effectively reduce the power consumption cost of the system, promote the effective utilization of renewable energy, and improve the operation stability of the microgrid cluster system.

Abstract:
O objetivo, neste estudo, foi avaliar o efeito do óxido de zinco e eugenol (OZE) usado como restaurador provisório na resistência de união ao microcisalhamento de adesivos. Os canais de 36 molares foram removidos, e a coroa dental, transversalmente seccionada em duas partes. A metade dos espécimes foi armazenada, enquanto a outra, restaurada com um restaurador temporário. Após 24 horas, a restauração OZE foi removida mecanicamente. As superfícies da dentina foram tratadas com os seguintes adesivos: Single Bond (SB), Clearfil SE (CSEB) e iBond (iB). Cinco cilindros de resina Z250 foram construídos em cada superfície de dentina. Depois de 24 horas de armazenamento os espécimes foram testados. O teste “t” de Student foi aplicado em cada sistema adesivo para avaliar a influência do eugenol nos valores de resistência de união (=5%). O cimento OZE usado como restaurador provisório não afeta os valores de resistência de união do adesivo convencional (SB), porém reduz a resistência de união dos sistemas adesivos autocondicionantes (iBond).

This study investigated the effect of enamel etching with phosphoric acid on the margin integrity of self-etch bonded composite restorations in demineralized enamel. Standardized Class V cavities were prepared in all specimens. Demineralized groups were either etched with phosphoric acid for 10, 30, 60, or 120 s (groups 2–5 and 9–12), or no etching was performed (groups 1 and 8). The non-demineralized (sound) groups were etched for 10 s (groups 7 and 14) or remained non-etched (groups 6 and 13). Resin composite restorations were then placed using either a one-step (iBond Self Etch, groups 1–7) or two-step self-etch adhesive (Clearfil SE Bond, groups 8–14). Margin integrity of the restorations was assessed after thermocycling (5000×, 5–55 °C) using scanning electron microscopy, and the percentage of continuous margins (%CM) was statistically analyzed (α = 0.05). Phosphoric acid etching significantly increased %CM in both demineralized and sound enamel. For iBond Self Etch, a significant increase in %CM in demineralized enamel was observed with increased etching times. All etched groups treated with Clearfil SE Bond and those etched for 60 or 120 s and treated with iBond Self Etch showed similar %CM in demineralized enamel as in etched sound enamel, and significantly higher %CM than in non-etched sound enamel. In conclusion, enamel etching with phosphoric acid improves margin integrity of composite restorations in demineralized enamel when bonded with the examined adhesives.

Background: Secondary metabolites derived from plant extracts can be used in the reduction of metal salts into their respective nanoparticles using simple, environmentally friendly and cost effective green synthesis techniques. Metal nanoparticles have important applications in medicine and agriculture. The leaves of Tetradenia riparia (Iboza), an important medicinal species in South Africa, are reported to contain various terpenoids and pyrones which can be used in the reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) to nano-silver particles. Materials and Methods: Fresh leaves and stems of Iboza were oven-dried, crushed, extracted in water and methanol and filtered followed by incubation with AgNO3. Synthesized nano-silver particles were characterised using ultraviolet visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Results: The bio-reduction of metal ion to base metal was rapidly conducted in a single step and at room temperature and pressure. UV-Vis spectra showed the characteristic surface plasmon resonance band of the synthesized nano-silver particles at 410 nm for all extracts. SEM analysis revealed predominantly aggregated spherically-shaped nano-silver particles with a size range of 20-50 nm and an average diameter of 26 nm. The presence of elemental silver in the nanoparticles was confirmed by EDX at 3 keV. As revealed by FTIR analysis, the reducing agents included terpenoids and pyrones which were responsible for reducing and capping the nano-silver particles. Conclusion: Both methanol and aqueous-derived extracts of Iboza leaves and stems can be used to synthesize nano-silver particles. FTIR evidence suggests that the reduction of the silver ions and the synthesis of the nanoparticles may have been actioned by various terpenoid and pyrone compounds found in the plant parts.

Sample collection is conducted by using plot size of 1 x 1 meter, destructive sampling and non-destructive sampling methods. The results shows that macrobenthos inventory on Rubiah Island in Sabang, Aceh with destructive sampling methods is amounted to 8 species from 5 families, while Benthos obtained from non-destructive sampling methods is amounted to 8 species from 6 families. Macrobenthos inventory on the water of natural tourism area of Iboih beach Sabang. Diversity index is moderate with H '= 1.22061, and non-destructive value H' = 1.31391. Includes the category of moderate diversity. In Payau waters with destructive H'= 1.74816, nondestructive with a value of H' = 1.7104. Has a moderate diversity index. Macroentent inventory of the Teupin Layeu Mangrove Waters of Sabang City found 27 and 29 species of benthos. Among them (Meretrik meretrik) is amounted to 44, (Anadara cunearca) is amounted to 36 and many other species. With species diversity H'= 3, 2114 indicates a high level of species diversity.

Chronic pain affects one in five people across human societies, with few therapeutic options available. Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) can provide long-lasting pain relief by inhibiting local release of neuropeptides and neurotransmitters, but its highly paralytic nature has limited its analgesic potential. Recent advances in protein engineering have raised the possibility of synthesising non-paralysing botulinum molecules for translation to pain sufferers. However, the synthesis of these molecules, via several synthetic steps, has been challenging. Here, we describe a simple platform for safe production of botulinum molecules for treating nerve injury–induced pain. We produced two versions of isopeptide-bonded BoNT from separate botulinum parts using an isopeptide bonding system. Although both molecules cleaved their natural substrate, SNAP25, in sensory neurons, the structurally elongated iBoNT did not cause motor deficit in rats. We show that the non-paralytic elongated iBoNT targets specific cutaneous nerve fibres and provides sustained pain relief in a rat nerve injury model. Our results demonstrate that novel botulinum molecules can be produced in a simple and safe manner and be useful for treating neuropathic pain.

In this paper, a multi-objective integrated trajectory planning method based on an improved butterfly optimization algorithm (IBOA) is proposed, to improve the dynamic performance of the Delta parallel pickup robot in high-speed pick-and-place processes. The main objective of the present study is to improve dynamic positioning accuracy and running stability at high speeds and high accelerations. On the one hand, the intention is to ensure smooth motions using the trajectory planning method, and on the other hand to improve the picking efficiency. To this end, the pick-and-place trajectory of the robot is constructed by using NURBS curves in Cartesian space. Taking the time and jerk as the optimization objectives, a trajectory optimization method based on the improved butterfly optimization algorithm (IBOA) is proposed. The IBOA is based on the butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA); a circle chaotic sequence is introduced to replace the random initial population of the original BOA, and the fractional differential is used to improve the convergence speed of the BOA. Then, the problem of parallel segment deformation of the optimized trajectory is solved. Finally, a three-degrees-of-freedom Delta robot is used to evaluate the performance of the prosed algorithm. The obtained results show that, compared with other optimization algorithms, IBOA reduces the optimization time by 16.2%, and the maximum jerk is reduced by 87.6%. The results are better than the optimization results of other algorithms by 14.1% and 27.2%. The robot motion simulation results show that IBOA can effectively reduce the vibration acceleration of the end platform.

Transfer massa air di Pulau Weh sangat signifikan yang akan berdampak pada sebaran suhu perairan di sekitar kawasan pesisir. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan perpindahan massa air secara vertikal dan hubungannya terhadap perubahan suhu perairan. Tiga area penting diobservasi yang mewakili utara, timur, dan selatan pulau weh yakni kawasan Iboih, Ie Meulee, dan Keunekai. Tiga ADCP diinstal pada ketiga titik observasi tersebut. Secara vertikal, komponen kecepatan arus zonal dan meridional menunjukkan kecepatan yang lebih acak saat menuju ke permukaan dengan kecepatan kurang dari 0,5 m/detik. Identifikasi pasang surut elips pada seluruh stasiun membuktikan bahwa di perairan Pulau Weh, arus pasang surut dangat dominan yang mana faktor lain juga memiliki pengaruh dalam memicu perpindahan massa air di permukaan. Arah arus dominan berputar sesuai dengan kaidah Spiral Ekman dan pengaruh gaya Coriolis. Fluktuasi suhu mengikuti perubahan elevasi pemukaan dan kecepatan arus yang berkisar antara 25-35 oC. Pada penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa pada bagian utara (Iboih) dan selatan (Keunekai) Pulau Weh, fluktuasi suhu berlangsung secara berlawanan menyerupai “jungkat-jungkit” yang mengindikasikan peran besar dari transfer massa air dari Laut Andaman dan Samudera Hindia yang membawa massa air hangat selama musim perlaihan I. The strategic position of Weh Island makes this region is unique in terms of physical oceanography characteristics. Water mass transport in Weh Island is tremendously significant, whereby it will affect the distribution of temperature in the surrounding coastal area. This study aimed to determine the changes in vertical water mass movement and its relation to water temperature alteration. We observed three vital areas representing north, east, and south parts of Weh Island waters, namely Iboih, Ie Meulee, and Keunekai, respectively. Three ADCPs were installed at those three observation points. Vertically, the zonal and meridional current components showed a more randomly speed surface-ward with less than 0.5 m/s magnitude. Tidal ellipses identification at all stations proved that in the Weh Island, tidal current is predominant. Other factors also trigger water mass movement on the surface. Sea current dominant direction rotated as the Ekman Spiral and Coriolis force influence. Temperature fluctuation followed the surface elevation and current speed changes ranging from 25-35 oC. In this study, it shows that between northern (Iboih) and southern (Keunekai) part of Weh Island, the temperature fluctuation oppositely takes place like a “see saw” indicating the significant role of water mass transfer from the Andaman Sea and the Indian Ocean which brings warm water during the first transitional season.
