Abstract:
In the present work, a theoretical study of the 13C + d system is carried out in the framework of the R-Matrix model. The experimental data used were taken from the IBANDL library. The cross-section measurements for the reactions have been carried out in the energy range of 0.49-1.65 MeV for three backscattering angles of 135°, 150° and 165°. The R-Matrix calculations were performed with the use of the AZURE2 code and involved the simultaneous analysis of the 13C (d, p0)14C, 13C (d, t0)12C 13C (d, a0)11B, 13C(d,a1)11B reaction channels with one, coherent set of parameters.

Abstract:
We report on the absolute differential cross section for proton elastic scattering on aluminum in the energy range of 0.8 MeV to 2.1 MeV. In the literature we have found previously published data that follow similar trends but are not consistent with one another. The present measurements also fall within that range, moreover, covering angular regions where there were no reported data, improving databases such as IBANDL. Different methods for the optical model calculations are shown where angular distributions at backward angles are in good agreement, allowing one to fix the optical potential parameters. The calculation results, as well as their data fit, differ significantly as one would expect for the energy range covered in this work, where the nuclear part of the interaction contribution is almost zero. Our data, as well as previous reports, suggest an increase with higher energies for the value of the elastic cross section at backward angles. Further work is required from both experimental and theoretical fronts.

Abstract:
The benchmarking experimental procedure in IBA (Ion Beam Analysis) is carefully designed in order to validate evaluated and experimental differential cross–section datasets of charged particles via the acquisition of EBS and NRA spectra from thick targets of known composition, followed by their simulations. In the present work, such benchmarking measurements have been performed at the laboratory of the Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics “Demokritos”, for the elastic scattering of protons on natSi in the energy range of 1.1 – 3.5 MeV at four backward angles, at 140o, 150o, 160o and 170o. In addition, measurements were performed for the elastic scattering of deuterons on 16O in the energy range of 1.1 – 1.7 MeV at four backward angles, at 140o, 150o, 165o and 170o. More specifically, a thick non–polished Si target with Au evaporated on top and a Nb2O5 tablet were used. The spectra acquired were compared with simulated ones using the SIMNRA program along with the evaluated differential cross-section datasets from IBANDL. All the experimental parameters were thoroughly investigated. The obtained results, the observed discrepancies and the encountered problems during the benchmarking process are discussed and analyzed.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The Ngajat is a traditional dance which synonym with the ethnic of Iban in Sarawak. This dance is usually performed in festive such as the Gawai Dayak and matrimony. The purpose of the dance is to entertain and showing gratitude for the attended guest. In Iban’s culture, the Ngajat dance can be divided in two categories by referring to gender, which are Ngajat Indu (Female’s dance) and Ngajat Laki (Male’s dance). Other than that, the Ngajat dance have significant meaning and scared in the Iban’s culture depending on the ritual performed by the ethnic itself. Therefore, this is an ethnography study emphasized on the intangible culture of the Iban’s Ngajat. This study applied the qualitative method of exploratory research and exploring a concept of phenomena through conducting field work and interview with an expert in the Iban’s culture. The studies sites are located in Betong and Sri Aman which have the largest Iban’s settlement in Sarawak. The studies find the Ngajat dance still widely practised and there is an effort to conserve the traditional dance to prevent it from extinction.

Abstract:
The Sea Dayaks, better known as the Ibans, inhabit nearly the whole of Sarawak. The Ibans belong to the Proto-Malay groups and historically, they were from the Kapuas Valley in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. They migrated to Sarawak about fifteen generations ago in the mid 16th century (the 1630s). They went to the state through the Kumpang Valley and inhabit Batang Ai and then split to several places in Sarawak (Morgan, 1968). Although the Ibans have a social status in their traditional belief, they do not have a hierarchy of social status such as the Orang Ulu. However, they have elevated the status so-called Pengulu, Tuai Rumah, Tuai Burung, Lemambang, Manang, Beliau, Tukang Sabak, dan Indu Takar. The era of modernization has led to changes to the knowledge of the young generation, especially the younger generation of the Ibans who lack knowledge about the function and role of each rank status in their communities. Therefore, this study was conducted qualitatively through an interview with expert informants, observation, and documentation. This research was hoped to contribute to the general knowledge of the Iban community and other communities in the preservation of the function and role of each social status in the Iban community.

Abstract:
“Miring” ceremony plays an important role for the Iban’s community. Most previous researches and discussions focus on miring ceremonies but the discussion of the ceremony in the context of historical building preservation are extremely rare. Most researchers focus on the “miring” ceremonies held during the annual festivals, paddy cultivation, early phase of house construction and any activities that are considered need to be carried out the ceremony by the practitioner’s group. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the function of the miring ceremony in the process of preserving Fort Brooke in Julau and Fort Emma in Kanowit, Sarawak. The “miring” ceremony was held before the conservation work in the area began. This study utilises qualitative research methods using participatory observation techniques and in-depth interview. The informant was an experienced “miring” leader who conducted the ceremony and experts of Iban's tradition. Observations were made during the ceremony holds at the study site. The process of data analysis has been done using the content analysis techniques based on the transcriptions from the interviews conducted. Observations were made during the “miring” ceremony at the study site. The purpose of the observation was to see the process of miring ceremony. The findings show that the miring ceremony played an important role to make sure the process of preservation of both forts can be completed as planned and as well as to respect the sensitivity of the Iban community living near the fort.

Abstract:
Cultural identity is a specific word that refers to individuals and communities in distinguishing themselves from others. One of the most dominant identities in a community culture is traditional clothing. In Sarawak, the traditional dress for the Iban is commonly known as Ngepan Indu. The Ngepan Indu is often worn during the Gawai Dayak celebration season as well as several other ritual ceremonies such as the Miring ceremony (Offerings) and Melah Pinang (Marriage). The Iban community believes that the Ngepan Iban is an identity and cultural icon in today's customs. Apart from that, Ngepan Iban is one of the treasures and legacies of Petara (God) who inhabited a kingdom called Panggau Libau, Tinting Gawai Gasing Gerah Layang so that Iban always remembered Petara and the origin of Iban's ancestors. This paper aims to analyze and understand the Ngepan Indu in the context of the custom and culture of the Iban community by using the qualitative research method based on the collective memory of the Iban cultural experts in Sarawak. Through this research, it is expected to have an effective and progressive impact to regenerate the spirit of Iban culture to continue persistently preserve the Ngepan Iban as a cultural heritage from the ancestors of the past, so that it will continue to be preserved for the future.

When writing about Islamic sectarian diversity, the vast majority of authorspay attention only to Sunni and Shi‘i Islam. Yet there exists a third groupdrawn from the earliest conflicts that rent the Muslim ummah apart: the Ibadis. If they are mentioned at all, it is usually little more than a footnote remarkingthat this group is the remnant of the Khariji secession in 657. Yet this thirdgroup – today predominant in Oman and Zanzibar, with populations also inAlgeria, Libya, and Tunisia – played an important political and theologicalrole in the immediate post-Prophetic period. Due to this word’s negative connotation, however, Ibadis do not refer to themselves as Kharijis, a group historicallyviewed as religious extremists by other Muslims. Instead, “Ibadi”comes from the enigmatic Abdullah ibn Ibad/Abad who died early in theeighth century, although, as the author notes, it is likely that his successor Jabiribn Zayd played a more important role in founding the group.Addressing the dearth of English-language resources on Ibadi beliefs, ValerieJ. A cross-sectional research design was employed for this study, involving data collection from 574 participants through self-administered surveys and interviews. Quantitative data were subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, while qualitative data underwent content analysis. The study's findings and conclusions reveal a positive correlation between governance and the quality of public health services, as well as a favorable association between governance management and these services. Additionally, administrative management was found to have a positive impact on public health services. Consequently, the study offers recommendations for the central government, urging consistent vigilance in supporting district performance and allocating adequate resources for drug distribution and medical equipment to bolster healthcare within the district. Furthermore, the study advocates for a continued emphasis on effective administration, encouraging public involvement in decision-making processes, open communication through public hearings, and grassroots participation in financial planning, all aimed at enhancing public health services. In conclusion, this study underscores the need for greater attention to public health services within the Ibanda administrative area, as it contributes to the existing body of research on public service delivery

Abstract:
Abstract: This research explores the craft and creativity of the art of Ilang as an interpretation of the philosophy of ‘Being a Teacher’ in the life of the Iban community. Symbolism towards the elements of nature is often used to express various ideas and meanings about their practices, culture, and life. This research uses a qualitative approach as a whole. Data obtained through qualitative approach using observations and interviews. Overall research has found that the human mind is made up of natural properties. Humans learn from nature and create the aesthetics they learn from it. Nature is made as a 'teacher', a human mind built from nature. This means that the developing world teaches humans to think creatively and to create something using natural resources, such as parang Ilang. Every event that happens around human life may not be separated from nature. The Iban people live in a natural environment. For them, nature is a ‘teacher’ to solve all the problems that occur in their lives. For some individuals in the Iban community, they are skilled at producing crafts that use the natural elements that exist in their environment. The aesthetic values of parang Ilang can also be seen through the uses of nature such as the consumption of wood (Eusideroxylon Zwageri) on the part of parang's coverThis indicates that nature as a teacher or terms of thought and ideology, as well as the symbolism of perseverance and psychology of the maker of the parang Ilang. Through nature, the Iban community made crafts using natural elements on the parang Ilang that reflected their aesthetic and artistic values as well as their culture. Keywords: Ilang, Aesthetic, Arts, Philosophy of Alam Takambang Jadi Guru, Iban’s culture Abstrak: Kajian ini menerangkan tentang kerajinan dan kekreativiti seni tentang parang Ilang sebagai tafsiran falsafah Alam Takambang Jadi Guru dalam kehidupan masyarakat Iban. Abstract:
Tattoos add a perceived aesthetic value to the body of the wearer. In instances where tattoos are worn – by choice – to enhance the outer appearance of the wearer, they are a vivid expression of artistic freedom, individualism and even a mark of belonging. For the same reasons that their appearance becomes conspicuous, tattoo wearers are vulnerable to receive negative first impressions. Tattoos are broadly divided into three types: those that are of tribal origins, those that are linked with criminal communities, and those that are forcefully given to mark prisoners or given as punishment. In the main stream media, the tattoos shown are often worn by antagonists or characters of a criminal nature. Recognizable Asian tattoos range from Japanese Horimono to Borneo tribal tattoos. A well-known example of tribal tattoo are the ones worn by Borneo Ibans. This paper will explain the importance of semiotics studies by looking at the cultural value of a particular tribal tattoo. The bunga terung is an Iban tattoo that a man will get when he goes for bejalai, a journey comparable to a walkabout. The theory of semiotics and representation by Charles Sanders Peirce will cover the knowledge process towards understanding the bunga terung. This research will enable us to differentiate between a tattoo that represents a particular indigenous community and a tattoo that represents a criminal one. Abstract:
Innovative and sustainable use of land for agricultural production is one of the strongest contributors to food systems across the globe. Access to enough land is of paramount importance to enhancing the welfare and household food security. Land fragmentation is a universal trait of all agricultural systems which affects agricultural productivity and no one has documented a rural society where there is no land fragmentation. This study of the effects of land fragmentation on smallholder food production in Rukiri Sub-County Ibanda District. The specific objectives were to; determine the land size, nature of fragmentation and production status of households, assess the causes and effect of land fragmentation on household food production and explore the current household adaptive mechanisms to fragmented parcels and propose innovative measures of enhancing production on small sized parcels. The study was a cross sectional survey employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches for data collection and analysis. Information was collected from a sample of 288 farming households and other key informants using questionnaire and interviews. Data was analyzed using Microsoft EXCEL and SPSS Version 21.0 to generate both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study established 2.3 acres as the average household land holding size. Land fragmentation in Rukiri Sub-County was as a result of population increase, poverty, family wrangles, communal land conflicts and legal provision based on inheritance divisions. The study established that land fragmentation had effects on over all farm productivity by escalating soil exhaustion, wetland and forest degradation, limiting agricultural mechanization, production of large space profitable crops like banana and coffee, reducing per unit area of production and increasing travelling time and cost of traveling between plots. Farmers had adapted and enhanced food production on small sized parcels by improving soil fertility with organic and inorganic fertilizers, crop diversification, practicing agrosilvipastoral, integrating soil and land management approaches, growing shorter cycle crops and hiring land from neighbors. The study concluded that land fragmentation had a significant effect on smallholder food production in the area. It therefore recommends that Government through relevant Ministries, Ibanda District Local Government and community leadership should come up with mechanisms to address house hold land conflicts, review the land use decree to grant genuine access to contagious land holdings, strengthen population growth control programs and mechanisms of improving productivity on small sized plots like, growing of low space requiring crops, improved high yielding crop varieties, agrosilvipastoral, integrated soil and land management approaches.

Abstract:
Water quality plays a substantial role in maximizing fish productivity. Despite the efforts made by government to improve fish production, there are general complaints about the small size of fish produced in aquaculture systems. This study was conducted in order to assess the effect of water quality on aquaculture productivity in Ibanda District, Uganda. The specific objectives were to examine the status of water quality parameters (temperature, turbidity, pH, alkalinity, Ammonia content, hardness, Carbon dioxide content, and Iron content) and assess their effect on fish pond productivity. Using data from fish farmers and water samples taken from 25 restocked fish ponds in ten sub-counties, the study revealed that of the eight water quality parameters examined only four (average turbidity, alkalinity, hardness, and Carbon dioxide content) were within the acceptable ranges, while Ammonia content, temperature, pH, and Iron content were slightly outside the recommended ranges. In addition, the study revealed that water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, and Ammonia Carbon dioxide, and Iron content had a significant effect on the weight and size of both tilapia and catfish. The study concluded that certain water quality parameters have a detrimental effect on fish farming. There is a need to educate fish farmers on how to maintain water quality at suitable levels in order to improve fish farm productivity in Ibanda district.

Abstract:
In spite of a long-standing interest in the Ibadi community and its historical, social, religious and architectural legacy, its Ibadi scholarly literature remains largely unknown. The present research continues in the footsteps of the pioneering works of Joseph Schacht (Schacht, 1954) and Pierre Cuperly (Cuperly, 1988) on Ibadism. It aims to cast light on the Ibadi literature that represents an authentic source of information for the study of Ibadism past and present. This article analyzes an Ibadi manuscript from the twelfth century written by the scholar Abul’Abbas Ahmad. This document has been the primary reference for the most important sources of Ibadi legislation still in use by the community in its three main centers: M’zab, Djerba and Oman. The study of this document, along with other Ibadi scholarly literature on this topic, shows that this jurisprudence has regulated in detail the design, construction and management of mosques, and that this level of careful attention was due to the importance of the mosque for the instruction and organization of the community.

Abstract:
Abstract This article focuses on letters in private Ibadi libraries and their importance for understanding the primary means of communication among Ibadi communities in the premodern Maghrib. Using the example of a letter from the 7th/13th-century Ibadi Shaykh Abū ʿAbdallāh al-Ṣidghiyānī from the island of Djerba (Tunisia) to the Ibadis of Warjalān (Algeria), it seeks to highlight the importance of the archive of unedited Ibadi manuscript letters. This corpus of correspondences has not received the care and maintenance it merits because these letters do not belong to a recognized volume or book and are today located in private libraries unavailable to the public. The article also uses the example of al-Ṣidghiyānī’s letter to emphasize the importance of the manuscript letters and their role in maintaining intellectual ties among the Ibadi cities of the Maghrib. This brief article consists of two parts. The first part offers a general presentation of the archive where the letter is today held: the El Barounia Library in Djerba, Tunisia. The second part presents the manuscript and its author in their historical context.

Abstract:
The Ibadiyya sect, which is one of the first sects to emerge in the history of Islam, separated from other Kharijite sects in a short time due to its moderate views and continued to live until today. The sect, which has a fiqh dimension as well as a creed, has a large fiqh literature that has started to form since the time of Jabir b. Zayd, who is considered the intellectual founder of the movement. This literature continues even today. In this article, Ibadi scholars who lived in the periods that can be described as the foundation and formation period of Ibadi fiqh and their fiqh works will be discussed. What makes the study unique is that it examines the Ibadi fiqh literature, which is a point that even the studies on Ibadi fiqh, which have been done in a very limited amount in our country, have never touched. As a matter of fact, the studies on Ibadi fiqh in our country have examined this sect through either fiqh method or furu fiqh, but have not mentioned its literature. It is one of the aims of this study to show that the Ibadiyya sect, which constantly stands out with its creed, also has a fiqh aspect and that there is a substantial amount of fiqh literature. For this purpose, in the article, the Ibadi fiqh literature in the process covering the establishment period of the sect and the formation period that ended in the half of the sixth century A.H. will be touched upon and evaluations of these periods will be given. As there is no study in this field in our country, some of the Ibadi fiqh works mentioned in the study are not accessible in our country. This increases the importance of the study.

Abstract Since becoming a nation-state in 1970, Oman's expanding heritage industry has included the restoration of castles and citadels, including the fort at Nizwa. The fort was once the administrative and juridical center of the Ibadi Imamate (1913–58). As the site of sharia adjudication, it sanctioned a past of primarily moral nature, oriented toward God and salvation and grounded in Ibadi doctrine and practice. This mode of history implied that everyday interactions and relationships could be assessed through exemplary forms of morality, as embodied by virtuous forbears. Yet the heritage project in modern Oman has treated history and Islam as seemingly separate, erasing formal awareness of the sociopolitical and ethical relationships that once characterized Ibadi rule. Today, the historical work done by the fort as a heritage site entails a progress-oriented future, reconfiguring Ibadi Islam in the process.

In this paper, we elaborate the problem of energy–momentum in General Relativity with the help of some well-known solutions. In this connection, we use the prescriptions of Einstein, Landau–Lifshitz, Papapetrou and Möller to compute the energy–momentum densities for four exact solutions of the Einstein field equations. We take the gravitational waves, special class of Ferrari–Ibanez degenerate solution, Senovilla–Vera dust solution and Wainwright–Marshman solution. It turns out that these prescriptions do provide consistent results for special class of Ferrari–Ibanez degenerate solution and Wainwright–Marshman solution but inconsistent results for gravitational waves and Senovilla–Vera dust solution.

Abstract:
The study examined the relationship between teachers’ professional development and teachers’ job performance in secondary schools in Ibanda Municipality. A cross-sectional descriptive survey design using a quantitative approach was used in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. The target population consisted of headteachers, teachers, and the directors of studies. Using Morgan and Krecjie’s table of sample size determination, the study used 19 headteachers, 470 teachers, and 20 directors of studies. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling were used to select the sample size. Data was collected using a closed-ended questionnaire. Findings revealed a positive correlation between professional development and the performance of teachers. Teachers’ professional development is very critical in job performance since it helps teachers to improve subject mastery, teaching methods, general attitude, and beliefs towards work, and diverse learning activities. The study recommends sequential professional development activities for all teachers. School administration should have a specific budget for teachers’ professional development. There should be deliberate efforts by school supervisory bodies like Board Governors and district education officers to ensure teachers’ professional development. This would encourage professional development. A promotional criterion that focuses on the extent of professional development should be adopted by schools

The Iban is an indigenous group living in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, located on Borneo Kalimantan. The study examined ethnic identity and consumption of Iban pop songs by investigating the influence of half- or full-Iban parentage on knowledge, attitudes and practices of listening to Iban pop songs. Questionnaire data were collected from 189 Iban participants (21.16% half-Iban; 78.84% full-Iban). The favourite genre of Iban pop songs is ballads but 74.6% of the participants could sing the iconic Iban rock song, Biar Bekikis Bulu Betis. A majority of the Iban participants listened to Iban pop songs on YouTube channels although a fair number still used the radio and mobile phones. The participants believed that Iban songs can unite the Iban and represent the Sarawakian identity. The male participants were more familiar with Iban pop songs than the female participants. Consumption of Iban music does not differ significantly with monthly income and education level. The results showed that full-Iban participants are more interested in, knowledgeable about, and positive about Iban pop songs, compared to half-Iban participants. The full-Iban participants felt strongly that Iban songs can represent the Malaysian identity, and modern Iban culture and attain the international standard. The findings suggest that Iban parents shape their children's interest in Iban popular music by inculcating a strong Iban ethnic identity.

It was founded in Santiago, Chile in 2013 with a focus on producing botanical extracts and has developed a proprietary R&D platform, based on plant tissue culture, for sustainable and improved production of Advanced Botanical Materials (ABM) that addresses critical and well-known issues related to the current production of key traditional botanical raw materials, often obtained under exploitation of natural resources. It has a 500 m2 laboratory production facility in Chile that can produce large amounts of product without the need for field-grown natural resources - making the production unique, and very efficient in producing and scaling the volume of botanical extract needed. It will be setting up a new facility in California later this year to focus mainly on pharmaceuticals. As a venture-backed company it has raised approximately $10 million so far to support its core areas. In May of 2022, BSI won the Best Startup Company of the Year Award from the World Bioprotection Forum, based on the evaluation of 20 distinguished judges. It has a mixed IP strategy; the production platform itself is protected by trade secrets, and the extracts and formulated products are patented.

Abstract:
The Ibadis are a Muslim religious minority with a long history and a rich philosophical and theological literature. This research claims that the Ibadis adherence to strict and puritan Islamic principles has not only affected their individual and social behavior, but also marked their approach to architecture, and the construction of cities. This article investigates the architecture of mosques developed in the four significant regions where this network of communities has settled since the ninth century: Oman, the M'zab valley in Algeria, Djerba in Tunisia, and Jebel Nafusa in Libya. Many features distinguish the architectural style of these from the typical mosque style. Although it may appear plural in its spatial arrangement, volumes, material and construction methods, the architecture of Ibadi mosques displays an “air de Famille” that relates them to their Arab-Berber origins and Ibadi religious principles. The present research is a comparative analysis of representative samples of this architecture in all the regions inhabited by the Ibadis. The second layer of scrutiny consisted of exploring the origins of its distinctive features in the meanings of the Ibadi Fiqh that concerned the act of building. It is a pioneering investigation of the relationship between the Ibadi religious principles and the architecture of their mosques. This research has established that the Ibadi Fiqh has addressed some aspects of the design of mosques and therefore have impacted, if not produced, some of the distinctive features of this architecture.

Abstract:
Studies on the oral literature of the migration of the Ibanik community have been extensively conducted by scholars, including studies on the oral literature of the migration of the Mualang community, one of the Ibanik subgroups in Kalimantan Barat. In various studies, it is narrated that the Mualang community once lived in Tampun Juah. In this place, they parted ways with the Buah Kana people or the Pangau Libau people. Another story tells that they lived together with the Buah Kana people in Labai Lawai. This study is conducted through interviews to obtain new information about the oral literature of the Mualang community related to migration and patterns of shifting settlements. This study found several pieces of information similar to previous studies, but there are also differences. According to the oral literature of the Mualang community in Sungai Gandal Village, they used to live in Tampun Juah but migrated due to cases of marriage between first cousins (manal). They then moved to Labai Lawai, where they still lived together with the Pangau Libau people. Actually, in Labai Lawai, they parted ways with the Pangau Libau people, not in Tampun Juah. The Mualang community in Sungai Gandal Village experienced relocation from one area to another, usually due to cases considered taboo. This study has provided new contributions to oral literature related to the migration of the Ibanik community, particularly the Mualang community.

Abstract:
Abstract Within the framework of studies concerning the importance of European manuscript collections for Ibadi history, this article aims at retracing the history of an archive put together by the French scholar Auguste Bossoutrot (1856–1937). This archive gathered a quantity of materials on the Arabic and Berber languages collected during his life. In particular, some of the manuscripts contain parts of a long religious work in Berber (Kitāb al-Barbariyya), discovered in the island of Djerba (Tunisia) among the Ibadi community of the island towards the end of the nineteenth century. This text was firstly discovered and reported to the scientific community by another French scholar, A. De Calassanti-Motylinski (1854–1907), but his untimely death prevented him from publishing it and the whereabouts of the manuscripts that contained it remained unknown until the discovery of Bossoutrot’s papers, which contained the longest extant copy of the work (about 900 pages).
