Abbatoirs have to produce meat that complied requisite of safety, healthy, wholeness and halal. Animalorigin product have to requisite basic safety product which implementated of hygine sanitation asproduction processed. The research aim was to evaluate implementation of hygine sanitation systemon 1st categrory abbatoir at Bogor Regency to complied safety and quality assurance of product.Observations on the implementation of hygienic sanitation were carried out using an evaluation matrixof the suitability of physical requirements with the criterion parameter assessment method based onthe Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 13/2010. The best suitability value (NK) of 3 wasobtained on the environmental hygiene indicator and the absence of the use of chemicals, while theother sanitation hygiene indicators were worth 2 (less appropriate). The results of testing on meat forthe content of Salmonella sp. is negative and the Total Plate Count test is between 7.1 x 103 - 5.2 x 104cfu/g below the SNI threshold (1.0 x 106 cfu/g). The test for E. coli in meat was above the threshold ofsuspected contamination from the water used. Validation of hygiene sanitation practices was carried outby means of Colliform swabs on knives, palms hand and clothing of officers. Colliform swab test of theofficer’s palm hand, which is 5.4 x 102 cfu/g, shows a value above the allowable threshold. The results ofthe evaluation of the application of sanitation and hygiene in the abattoir are quite good but still needimprovement. Priority improvements are the equipment of cleaning facilities, water quality testing andimprovement of personal hygiene understanding.

Abstract:
Objective To assess hand hygiene compliance in selected primary hospitals in Ghana. Design A cross-sectional health facility-based observational study was conducted in primary health care facilities in five regions in Ghana. A total of 546 healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, midwives and laboratory personnel from 106 health facilities participated in the study. Main outcome measures The main outcome measures included availability of hand hygiene materials and alcohol job aids; compliance with moments of hand hygiene; and compliance with steps in hygienic hand washing. These were assessed using descriptive statistics. Results The mean availability of hand hygiene material and alcohol job aids was 75% and 71% respectively. This was described as moderately high, but less desirable. The mean hand hygiene compliance with moments of hand hygiene was 51%, which was also described asmoderately high, but less desirable. It was observed that, generally, hand hygiene was performed after procedures than before. However, the mean compliance with steps in hygienic hand washing was 86%, which was described as high and desirable. Conclusion Healthcare workers are generally competent in performance of hygienic hand washing. However, this does not seem to influence compliance with moments of hand hygiene. Efforts must therefore be made to translate the competence of healthcare workers in hygienic hand washing into willingness to comply with moments of hand hygiene, especially contact with patients.

Abstract:
The problem presented in the article concerns the concept of hygienic care and the reasons for objectifying hygiene practices related to the body. The analysis of hygiene goals made based on a critical analysis of key publications and texts inscribed in the evolution of hygiene and educational activity was used to determine the methods of shaping hygienic body awareness in contemporary educational practice. The article attempts to define the common fields of influence of hygiene and pedagogy, draw attention to the reflective way of reading the canon of vital needs of children and adolescents to give them a pro-health meaning in the life cycle. The main conclusions resulting from the analyses carried out are: 1) departing in the education process from traditional thinking about hygiene, i.e. perceiving it as a set of norms and rules of purely medical origin (giving instructions, recommendations to guarantee hygiene safety, focusing awareness on prevention), 2) overcoming the model of preventive hygiene (negative, passive) for the release of hygiene care and education based on transgressive practices of caring for the body, 3) locating hygienic activity in the area of life skills, 4) inducing hygienic sensitivity based on the resources of the living environment and vital values.

Abstract:
Abstract Risk of neonatal mortality secondary to infections such as pneumonia and diarrhoeal diseases can be influenced by maternal hygiene, but little information is known about current maternal hygiene practices in low- and middle-income countries. This study aimed to assess the hygiene practices of mothers of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients in Lusaka, Zambia and associated epidemiological factors. A cross-sectional survey of the mothers of hospitalized neonates at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka was conducted. Study nurses orally administered questionnaires to mothers in their local languages about their hygiene practices related to newborn care. Of the 201 mothers surveyed, self-reported hygiene practice was associated with literacy (p = 0.013) and income (p < 0.0001). In contrast, adherence to recommended hygienic newborn care was less common, with only 36% of mothers practising recommended cord care practices. Forgetfulness (32%) and lack of hygiene resources (13%) were the major barriers to hygienic behaviours. Surveyed Zambian women who delivered babies requiring NICU care self-reported adequate hygienic practices and apparently faced difficulty practising them due to forgetfulness and a lack of hygiene resources. Future efforts should focus on improving cord care education, reinforcement of the importance of hygienic behaviours, and the supply of affordable antiseptic tools.

Abstract:
Hindu culture and religion has its own idea regarding what constitutes excellent physical, mental, and spiritual purity. It would be interesting to learn more about whether or not the Hindu society of today adheres to the same practices. All Hindus view maintaining personal hygiene, including cleanliness of the body, hands, clothes, hygienic toilet, and menstrual hygiene management, as a duty and a fundamental principle. Personal hygiene is considered to be a key component of Hindu society. The major objective is to comprehend the level of awareness and personal hygienic behavior in Hindu society. The study primarily takes into account two cultural and social aspects of personal hygiene. The study used hand washing behaviors, trimming and combing procedures, menstrual hygiene management, usage of safe toilet, brushing, bathing, and cleaning practices as the main areas of the study. The necessity of hygienic habits for happiness, social status, and cultural continuity was also well understood in Hindu society. More Hindus now practice personal hygiene than during the Vedic Hindu era. Hygiene habits may be improved by affecting the attitudes of the society. A social and behavior change communication approach for hygiene behaviors should be implemented by the society. The improvement of daily personal hygiene routines and behavior adjustment are required to raise a better social status and cultural practices. The Hindu community is also adopting a novel viewpoint on the connection between personal hygiene and Hindu culture.

Abstract:
Abstract The Total Bacterial Count (TBC) and the Somatic Cells Count (SCC) in the milk are important indicators of its hygiene and quality. Hygienic conditions in barns, milking procedures, udder hygiene before, during and after milking, milking machine hygiene, as well as milk cooling procedures immediately after milking, have direct or indirect influences on milk hygiene indicators. Poor results of milk hygiene quality, when it comes to SCC and TBC, which are often seen in dairy cattle farms in our country, indicate numerous omissions before and during milking. To determine the possibility of improving milk hygiene quality, training of extension service professionals and farmers was conducted, corrective and preventive measures were determined and the achieved state was monitored on 128 dairy farms where SCC and TBC were observed at regular monthly intervals for 6 months. The results showed a continuous statistically very significant improvement in hygienic conditions in barns, milking procedures, udder hygiene before, during and after milking, milking machine hygiene, as well as milk cooling procedures. This has contributed to a statistically very significant improvement in the hygienic quality of milk, both in SCC and TBC indicators, continuously from month to month, with a visible improvement at the end related to the beginning of the study period. At the begining and the end of survey 19.7% and 50.0% of milk samples belong to 1st class of milk quality, respectively, indicating a significant improvement after implementation of corrective measurements.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The wood material provides a nature-based theme to construction because of its natural appearance, ecofriendly nature and biophilic effects on humans. However, its organic and porous nature is questioned when using it in hygienically important places such as hospitals. Studies have shown that wood has antimicrobial properties against some pathogens; work is still needed, however, to demonstrate this antimicrobial action and its relation to wood and microbiological variables. This research gathers and generates information to guide stakeholders of hospital hygiene on the hygienic safety of wood materials. First, a simple and direct method was developed to study the antibacterial and antifungal activity of solid wood, which also identified the role of wood and microbial variables on antimicrobial behavior. Further, an elution based bacterial recovery method was investigated which showed that the most common nosocomial bacteria did not survive as well on wood as compared to smooth surfaces such as aluminum, steel and polycarbonate. Meanwhile, an innovative tool was developed, involving the use of fluorescent probes to study the bacterial distribution on and inside wood using confocal spectral laser microscopy. These experiments produced the information that will help the decision makers regarding the choice of wood material in the healthcare buildings. It not only enhances our understanding of hygienic safety of wood in healthcare buildings but also provides the basis for future research on the prevalence of pathogens in the wooden healthcare institutes and the perception of the occupants those buildings

Excerpt: A study by Tromp et al1 concluded that “Our multifaceted hand hygiene improvement program resulted in a sustained improvement of hand hygiene knowledge and compliance in nurses as well as physicians.” However, the support for the conclusions is weak because of a number of drawbacks. These drawbacks would inhibit the application of those conclusions in health care. The first drawback is the absence of a control group and, secondly, the contradictions in the data, as explained below.

Abstract:
Compliance with hand hygiene is widely recognized as the most important factor in preventing transmission of infection to patients in healthcare settings (Haas and Larson, 2007). Hand hygiene dramatically decreases the potential pathogens on hands and is considered the first measure for decreasing the risk of transmitting organisms to patients, healthcare professionals, and family members. Noncompliance with hand hygiene practices has been shown to increase healthcare-associated infections, costing hospitals $35.7-$45 billion each year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2012). Education about hand hygiene starts in school and should transfer into the real world of nursing. The purpose of this research is to determine how student nurses in a baccalaureate nursing program in northeastern Tennessee perceive hand hygiene and the importance of conducting the act of hand washing. Students who do not perceive it as important, or do not have the correct information, are unlikely to use principles of good hand hygiene in their practice. Few studies were found assessing nursing school students’ perception of the importance of hand hygiene.

Abstract:
Annotation. The widespread introduction of laser products in various fields of science, technology and medicine, as well as the possibility of serious damage to the organ of vision and skin during their operation, put forward new and increasingly complex tasks for laser hygiene. An analysis of the hygienic normative and methodological documents currently in force on the territory of the Russian Federation showed that they cannot fully ensure laser safety. Differences in the approaches to the hygienic standardization of laser radiation (LR), adopted in the Russian Federation and the USA and the European Union, have been established. The LR hygienic standards in GOST R IEC 60825-1-2013 are practically identical to foreign IEC 60825 standards, that is, in most spectral ranges they exceed the MPL by an order of magnitude or more (SanPiN 1.2.3685-21). The necessity of correcting the hygienic standards of LR, harmonizing the classification of lasers according to the degree of hazard, and developing effective means of control and protection was revealed. Draft documents have been developed: "Hygienic standards for laser radiation" and "Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for working conditions during the operation of laser products", the introduction of which into the practice of sanitary and epidemiological supervision will ensure the preservation of the health of workers. Key words: lasers, correction of hygienic standards, classification, methods and means of control and protection, laser safety.

Abstract:
This SLH Learning Paper summarises the key learning from a rapid topic exploration on 'Learning in the Sanitation and Hygiene Sector'. The study looked at how people in the WASH sector learn, the processes utilised and what works best, as well as the barriers and challenges to learning. It looks at learning from communities and peer-to-peer and how the learning gets translated into action at scale. How do you think we learn best? What barriers do you see and experience that make it more difficult for us to learn? And what steps should be taking to reduce the barriers and improve how to learn more effectively? This paper shares the lessons from sector and associated actors working in low- and middle-income contexts around the world and makes recommendation on how to strengthen learning and sharing processes, as well as building capacities and confidence for learning, with the ultimate aim of turning that learning into action at scale.

Abstract:
This Frontiers of Sanitation draws on the Transformative WASH concept to explore and outline what may be required of WASH implementation stakeholders in efforts to support child development outcomes. The Frontiers explores the multiple ways in which inadequate sanitation, hygiene, and environmental cleanliness can affect physical and cognitive development in children. It explores areas beyond hand hygiene to consider food hygiene and broader environmental cleanliness, and beyond human faeces to consider animal faeces. What this means for practice is then discussed to outline how the WASH sector can improve current practice to best support improvements to child development outcomes and in particular opportunities for children to both survive and thrive.
