Abstract:
The paper features the term "lifeworld" coined in 1910 by E. Husserl. The research objective was to describe the ideological content of Husserl's phenomenology, which determined the content and categorical design (type) of phenomenological sociology. E. Husserl introduced a systematic concept of the "lifeworld" and used it as a basis for a branch of social science now referred to as "understanding sociology". In addition, Husserl’s socio-philosophical and epistemological research helped to resolve the "crisis" of science, which he himself discovered, and to recreate the trampled dignity of human subjectivity. The research generalizes and clarifies various scientific views on the criticism of E. Husserl's naturalism and the problem of "lifeworld". Its results can be used in courses of sociology, philosophy, and history.

Abstract:
Straipsnyje aptariamas Danielio C. Dennetto pasiūlytas heterofenomenologijos metodas, pretenduojantis sąmonės patirtis tirti iš trečiojo asmens perspektyvos, ir analizuojamas argumentų už šio metodo pranašumą autofenonomenologijos, arba Edmundo Husserlio fenomenologijoje taikomo introspekcijos metodo iš pirmojo asmens perspektyvos atžvilgiu, korektiškumas. Dennettas, įvesdamas trečio asmens perspektyvą, heterofenomenologijos metodui siekia suteikti gamtos mokslų metodams būdingo objektyvumo, kurio nepavyko pasiekti Husserlio autofenomenologijos projektui dėl neišvengiamo subjektyvumo veiksnio. Todėl Dennettas subjektų pranešimams apie sąmonės patirtis suteikia įsitikinimų statusą, kurį legitimuoja jau ne pats subjektas, o stebėtojas (heterofenomenologas), šitaip atlikdamas mokslinį subjektų įsitikinimų apie sąmonės patirtis tyrimą. Bet ar subjektų pranešti įsitikinimai gali būti neutralūs, be subjektyvios interpretacijos apvalkalo, kaip to tikisi Dennettas? Straipsnyje tvirtinama, kad ambicingas Dennetto heterofenomenologijos metodas neišvengia Husserlio fenomenologijai būdingo subjektyvumo, nes Dennettas nekorektiškai interpretuoja Husserlį, iškreipdamas, bet neišvengdamas autofenomenologijai priskiriamų trūkumų.Pagrindiniai žodžiai: heterofenomenologija, autofenomenologija, sąmonė, metodas, intencionalumas, patyrimas.Does Heterophenomenology Surmount Autophenomenology?Ernesta Molotokienė SummaryDaniel C. Dennett’s heterophenomenological method for analyzing the experiences of one’s consciousness using the third person approach, as well as an analysis of the argument correctness of its superiority over the autophenomenology or introspective method of the first person approach applied in Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology are presented. By introducing the third person perpective, Dennett seeks to bestow the impartiality which is typical of the nature sciences, to heterophenomenological method. The Husserl autophenomenology project had failed in this field because of its inevitable subjectivity. Therefore, Dennett provides the subject’s messages about experiences of consciousness with the conviction status, which is legitimated not by the subject but by the observer (the heterophenomenologist), and in this way he carries out the scientific research of the subject’s convictions about the experiences of consciousness. But can the subject’s convictions be neutral, without a shell of subjective interpretation, as Dennett expects them to be? The article argues that the ambitious heterophenomenologic method of Dennett is unable to avoid the subjectivity typical of Husserl’s phenomenology, because Dennett interprets Husserl incorrectly by twisting his ideas, but is unable to elude the drawbacks of autophenomenology. Keywords: heterophenomenology, autophenomenology, consciousness, method, intentionality, experience.

Abstract:
AbstractThe paper examines Husserl’s interactions with logicians in the 1930s in order to assess Husserl’s awareness of Gödel’s incompleteness theorems. While there is no mention about the results in Husserl’s known exchanges with Hilbert, Weyl, or Zermelo, the most likely source about them for Husserl is Felix Kaufmann (1895–1949). Husserl’s interactions with Kaufmann show that Husserl may have learned about the results from him, but not necessarily so. Ultimately Husserl’s reading marks on Friedrich Waismann’s Einführung in das mathematische Denken: die Begriffsbildung der modernen Mathematik, 1936, show that he knew about them before his death in 1938.

Abstract:
Edmund Husserl’s Logical Investigations was the breakthrough of phenomenology. What made it a breakthrough was the new way of explicating truth or evidence as self-givenness or adequacy. Husserl did however also have another interpretation of truth: evidence as indubitability or certainty of apodicticity. Originally Husserl thought that apodicticity increases the evidence of something already adequately given. Yet, in the first Cartesian Meditation Husserl differentiates the two modes of evidence. In this article the way to this split up of evidence is elaborated with the help of some recent publications in Husserliana. It is also suggested that the fact that Husserl has two separate views on truth is one reason for the dispersed state of Husserl- research. This article argues that Husserl’s early view on evidence adequacy is more original and interesting. The real philosophical challenge, however, is to be able to join the two modes of evidence under one strenge Wissenschaft.

Abstract:
This paper accomplishes two goals. First, the essay elucidates Husserl’s descriptions of meaning consciousness from the 1901 Logical Investigations. I examine Husserl’s observations about the three ways we can experience meaning and I discuss his conclusions about the structure of meaning intentions. Second, the paper explores how Husserl reworked that 1901 theory in his 1913/14 Revisions to the Sixth Investigation. I explore how Husserl transformed his descriptions of the three intentions involved in meaningful experience. By doing so, Husserl not only recognized intersubjective communication as the condition of possibility of linguistic meaning acts, but also transformed his account of the structure of both signitive and intuitive acts. In the conclusion, I cash out this analysis, by showing how, on the basis of these new insights, Husserl reconstructs his theory of fulfillment.

Abstract:
Abstract: Although the phenomenological movement was one of the most fecund in the XX century, it does not mean that Husserl’s philosophy was well known, even by his collaborators. This failure of understanding is partly due to the fact that it is only recently that the thousands of manuscripts Husserl left us, and in which fresh aspects of his thought are revealed, could be better known, thanks to the constant work undertaken by the Husserl-Archives in Leuven. But, there have also been other reasons why Husserl’s philosophy was left aside, or even stigmatized by both the neo-Thomist Catholics and the existentialist thinkers. Their common reason was the denomination of “transcendental idealism” that Husserl himself gave to his philosophy. The examination of the subsequent misunderstandings seems to be a good way to introduce Husserlian philosophy, showing that we cannot do without Husserl’s thought, for it allows us to comprehend the deep philosophical reasons behind the civilizational crisis we are going through.

This text analyses the meaning that Husserl gives to the term "transcendental". To do this the author analyses Husserl's texts in two stages. First, he lists some central features that characterise the transcendental. Second, he relates these features to the phenomenological method and the notion of phenomenon. Together with this the author analyses the Kantian motifs that Husserl collects, giving an account of the critical extension that Husserl makes of them

Abstract:
The young Edmund Husserl stressed that the success of his philosophy hinged upon his ability to determine the subject and the predicate of impersonal propositions and their expressions, such as ‘It is raining’. This essay accordingly investigates the tenability of Husserl’s early thought, by executing the first study of his analysis of impersonal propositions from the late 1890s. This examination reshapes our understanding of the inception of phenomenology in two ways. First, Husserl pinpoints the subject by outlining why impersonal expressions are employed during communication. This contravenes interpretations of the early Husserl as uninterested in intersubjectivity. Second, by studying how Husserl determines the predicate by investigating existential propositions, I show that Husserl , in the late 1890s, came to his final view on the concept of being.

Abstract:
Husserl&rsquo
s phenomenology can be analyzed simply by relying on the conception of intentionality. What I want to do is to put forward the logical grounds on which I can construct an acceptable account of Husserl&rsquo
s theory of intentionality. For this aim, firstly, I need to put some light on the nature of intentional acts or experiences. This suggests us that there is a close connection between the acts and what they are directed towards. Actually many have specified the relation between the act and the object, but what they have ignored was to give an exclusive explication of how such a relation can be connected with the content component. The penomenological content mediates between the intentional act and the intended object. There are some disagreements as regards whether the act is also directed towards the content or not. One of the significant aims of this research is to shed some light on the adequate arguments by which I will try to clarify that one can speak of such a directedness of intentional acts. In other words I believe that one can not only describe an intentional relation between the act and the intended object but also similar relations between the act and the content. There seem to be three parts to be examined interconnectedly: these, namely, are act, content and the object. For, the act is directed towards the object with the intermediation of the content. So his theory is not the same as the object theory of intentionality of which there are some defenders. Husserl&rsquo
s content theory is firstly examined in Logical investigations and Ideas respectively.

Abstract:

This study concerns the nature and role of analyticity in the work of Immanuel Kant and Edmund Husserl. Its initial goal is that of clarifying the place of analytic judgment in Kant's critical project. Against the widely held assumption that analytic judgment has no role to play in the critical project, I show that analytic judgment has a precise and genuinely important role to play in the context of Kant's metaphysics. Analytic judgment has the role of clarifying our a priori conceptual repertoire and thus of making possible the synthetic a priori judgments that are properly constitutive of metaphysics. The next goal of the study is that of unifying and defending Kant's various characterizations of analytic judgment. Whereas a number of commentators have suggested that Kant is vague or ambivalent as regards the properties of analytic judgment, I show that we can extract a clear, consistent picture of analytic judgment from his work. The key to seeing this, I argue, is becoming clear on Kant's basic assumptions concerning concepts, logic, and propositional form. Subsequently, I turn to Husserl. Picking up on the fact that for Husserl, too, analyticity has metaphysical, or ontological significance, I spell out his conception of analyticity in detail. I show that analyticity for Husserl embraces two essentially symmetrical domains of law: the a priori laws of objective givenness and the a priori laws of propositional form. I then bring Husserl and Kant together. After showing that Husserl fails to capture the essence of Kant's theory of analytic judgment, and so fails to see exactly where he stands relative to Kant, I argue that what ultimately distinguishes Husserl from Kant is the claim that analytic truth is properly articulated in a purely formal context. I show that this departure from Kant has extremely significant consequences. For example, it enables Husserl to describe whole systems of judgment, such as mathematics or logic, as analytic; and it enables Husserl to defend the possibility of analytic judgments having empirical content

Abstract:
The discussion about Husserl's intersubjectivity theory is well established, the discussion about the same from Heidegger is not as extensive. Above all, there is little discussion about Heidegger as a critic of Husserl's intersubjectivity theory. Thus, the present paper describes Husserl's and Heidegger’s intersubjectivity theories in order to be able to account for Heidegger's criticism of Husserl's theory. The paper shows that Husserl bases his theory on empathy, while Heidegger bases it on the care of the equipment world, the They, everyday existence and the public. Heidegger criticizes Husserl for assuming the subject with an inner authentic core on which social and cultural life is incorporated. According to Heidegger, the most primary condition for humans is that we live in a shared world with other people.

Abstract:
Premiere partie (t. L'a. L'a. Situe egalement, par rapport a la constitution. .
First part : french translation of husserl's dingvorlesung (1907 summer term course) and of complementary texts, as published in the original ed. By u. Claesges (hua, 16) husserl defines there the fundamental notions of his phenomenology of perception. Then, after a fundamental analysis of the simpler case of perceptions wherein sense data remain unchanged, he develops the intentional implications of cinetically synthetized perceptions; it leads to pointing out the essential inadequateness of every perception of a thing. The last two divisions of the work are dedicated to the study of the kinesthesis-sense field coordination, and to its definite type. Second part : 1) translator's brief comments and critical remarks, related to the first part text. 2) a synthetic essay on husserl's theory of the constitution of material things in perception : the a. Sets forth the decisive import of passive synthesis and its phenomenology. He traces the double fundamental question of the meaning of "being" and "being-so" in the case of material reality. He criticizes the wrong understanding of "phenomenological attitude" as a "reductive" operation --a typically cartesian gesture. Hence the methodological and logical requirements of the concept of constitution. Analyzing the presuppositions of the latter, the a. Shows that founding the constitutive a priori upon a "genetical" a priori ultimately leads to contradiction : phenomenology, as transcendental, proves to be either a modern empiricism,. .

Abstract:
Phenomenology has been one of the most influential and far-reaching developments in 20th Century Philosophy and has had a great impact on the disciplines of philosophy of logic and math, theory of knowledge, and theory of meaning. The most profound influence on Edmund Husserl (1859 - 1938), the founder of phenomenology, was Rene Descartes (1596 - 1650), whose radical rethinking of philosophy’s overall project provided Husserl with both the historical and conceptual point of departure for his foundation of prima philosophia. Despite this explicit and well-known influence, there is no book- length study of their thematic parallels; numerous Journal articles focus almost entirely on the phenomenological reduction and, aside from this, are fairly unsatisfactory. The purpose of the present work is to elucidate systematic convergences (and divergences) between Descartes and Husserl throughout their respective philosophical developments. This comprises explication of several central topics: 1. The parallel between 17th C. skepticism, which Descartes attempted to overthrow, and 19th C. psychologism and relativism, which Husserl reacted against. 2. The striking similarity at the level of formal ontology between Descartes' simple and complex natures and Husserl's part-whole theory. 3. A clarification of the Cartesian sense of methodical doubt and how Husserl's mistaking of this shaped the initial formulation of the reduction. 4. Convergence in the maturation of the primitive notion of intuition as "clear and distinct seeing" and "seeing of essences" for both thinkers. 5. An analysis of the modes of methodical doubt, in terms of steps in the cognitive act of doubting, and not merely in the content of that which is doubted. 6. Far-reaching divergences in that Descartes was motivated to establish with scientific certainly an entirely new world of being, whereas Husserl was concerned to disclose an entirely new sense of the world. As such, thematic convergences between Descartes and Husserl are not due to accidental intersections of interest, nor are they curiosities of the comparative method in historical research. These parallels are intrinsic and systematic due to an overarching congruence in their visions of the starting point, methodological procedures, and reaction to pseudo-scientific matters-of-fact in the founding of a genuine philosophical project.

Abstract:
In the fi rst part of the text, the author presents the reasons that in the future will make one create robots that will be endowed with subjectivity. In the second part the author selects a phenomenological approach from the possible philosophical approaches to the creation of robot subjectivity. She gradually presents her construction of robot subjectivity from a perspective inspired by Husserl, Heidegger and Sartre. At the end of the text, the author demonstrates that an approach inspired by Husserl and Heidegger would lead to the creation of a non -free, human -dependent robot. On the contrary, an approach inspired by Sartre would lead to the creation of a free robot.

Хайдеггера и других. teaching the training course "Ontology" for bachelor philosophers is completely impossible to implement without a solid foundation on the history of the formation of ontological ideas, from antiquity to the twentieth century. The main pivot of the course is the modern understanding of ontological problems, focused on the comprehension of ontology in the concepts of E. Husserl, N. Hartmann, M. Heidegger, and others.

Abstract:
The turbulent events of today, posing new challenges to humanity, in turn, actualize the negative effects and provoke the growth of people's mental tension, anxiety, depression, and crisis, moreover. In contrast, in recent years, there has been a tendency among scientists to understand and conceptualize the concepts of "psychological health" and "happiness", which correspond to the desire of philosophers and psychologists to form new guidelines for overcoming and preventing these negative influences. The article provides a brief historical and theoretical review of the understanding of the concept of happiness in the framework of existential psychology and psychotherapy from the point of view of leading representatives of this field, in particular, S. Kjerkegor, F. Nietzsche, E. Husserl, M. Heidegger, L. Binswanger, M. Boss, E. Van Deurzen, V. Frankl, A. Lengle. KEY WORDS: the phenomenon of happiness, existential psychology, existence, being.

Abstract:
Despite numerous research studies that have examined why women are underrepresented in engineering education programmes, the phenomenon is still not fully understood, and no effective general solutions have been found. In this context, analysing women’s experiences in engineering education can provide insights regarding the evolution of the students’ learning strategies and socialization processes as well as contextual factors that influence their choice to persist in or leave their courses. This paper explores the pertinence of enhancing phenomenological analyses conducted in engineering education research by incorporating sociological perspectives, drawing on sociological studies that explore the relationship between gender, STEM education and persistence in STEM courses. The aim is to contribute to building a conceptual framework that, on the one hand, captures lived experience in engineering education and, on the other hand, analyses the social settings around engineering itself, i.e., the objectively significant circumstances, that condition female students’ attitudes, behaviours, and expectations towards persisting or not in engineering courses. Conclusions suggest the conceptual framework around subjectively meaningful experiences, proposed by Alfred Schutz, who followed the phenomenological school of thought initiated by Edmund Husserl, might be useful in understanding not only (a) the representations of the subjective social world for women in engineering education (that induces feelings of identification, security, symbolic values, and ultimately social actions), but also (b) the intersubjective social system that structures daily life, legitimizes behavioural patterns, assigns roles, and defines group membership along education in engineering. Expanding engineering education researchers’ conceptions of phenomenology, to consider more of the structural issues that influence women’s experiences and choices, can help generate increasingly meaningful research findings.

Abstract:
Each and every thought, word, feeling or action of a person harbor a richness of meaning, opening on all the possible worlds accessible for him/her. A vision on those possible worlds, those open possibilities of action, should be of great interest for human science research. We believe that the phenomenological thinking of Edmund Husserl, reworked to adapt to the modern conception of the human sciences, can allow such an understanding of a person or a more or less large group, giving not a static picture of his mind, but a dynamic view of the ongoing process of constitution of meaning. In cross-cultural and/or intercultural comparative fields as well as developmental and educational fields, the researcher is confronted to language, in conversations, narratives, writings and texts studied, to understand the relations of individuals to their cultures. Collecting freely expressed narratives and texts, the researcher accesses the whole universe of the subject in all its richness, individual specificity and cultural and social characteristics. Hence the question of the meaning and interpretation of the narratives to be done by a lecture in intension to reconstruct the possible worlds of the subject by phenomenological analysis. MCA, “Meaning Constitution Analysis”, explores the pluralities of the significations lying in the texts and implied by it. Software, MCA – Minerva, has been developed as an efficient tool in the work of text analysis. By MCA-method any kind of text can be analyzed in a rigorous and controlled way. By allowing also for different statistical treatment of the results of the process of analysis, it might render obsolete the now almost classical distinction between qualitative and quantitative methods.

Abstract:
There is an expression: "What you are afraid of, then it happens." The process of realization of fears is often explained by the supernatural. In the practice of counseling, there are cases when a person is afraid of something and this happens in his life. A similar phenomenon of "self-fulfilling prophecy", or "Rosenthal's principle", "is that a person's expectations of the fulfillment of the prophecy largely determine the nature of his/her actions and the interpretation of the reactions of others, which provokes the selffulfillment of the prophecy." It is proposed to look at this phenomenon through the prism of the inner world of a person, through their perception as an active process. It is assumed that in these cases the perception of what is happening is carried out through the prism of their fears. The orientation of mental activity, as the basis of attention, implies a selective nature, the selection of significant objects and phenomena from the environment. If fears are significant for us, then the focus will be on these concerns. In a broader sense, self-fulfilling fears are based on intentionality – one of the central concepts of Husserl's phenomenology – the quality of mental states (e.g. thoughts, beliefs, desires, hopes) which consists in their being directed towards some object or state of affairs, orientation of consciousness to an object, interpreted as a fundamental characteristic of consciousness and its acts. Therefore, self-fulfilling fears may not be the actual events of a person's life, but the result of intentionality and constitute certain complexities of a person's life. According to Husserl, one of the possible ways to overcome intentionality is to study its nature. If necessary, in psychotherapeutic practice, it is supposed to study the texture of self-fulfilling fears and the nature of these fears.

Abstract:
The King Hussein Foundation (KHF) partners with Oxfam in the Youth Participation and Employment programme (YPE) to promote entrepreneurship through supporting youth to engage in business start-ups and scale-ups. KHF projects support community-based organizations (CBOs) in establishing revolving funds, training CBOs in microfinance management and building the capacity of potential entrepreneurs. Apprenticeships and shadowing are two examples of popular approaches to facilitating entrepreneurship and self-employment. During the COVID-19 crisis, KHF has continued the implementation of activities virtually. This case study presents examples of young people utilizing financial support, reaching out to new clients using ICT, and eventually exploring ways to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
