Barada, S. "How to overcome sugar addiction?" Journal of AMD 23, no. 3 (November 2020): 231. http://dx.doi.org/10.36171/jamd20.23.3.10.

Full text
Abstract:
Sugar consumption activates the mesocorticolimbic system in a very similar way to substance abuse. But if all addictions initially start with a feeling of pleasure, as in the case of highly palatable foods and sugar rich diets, then why should I abandon something that makes me feel good? And then why does one continue to abuse food despite the negative consequences. There are various ways to deal with the different addictions. However, the problem with sugar addiction, or even more generally with food addiction, is that there is no awareness that the relationship with food can represent an addiction in some cases, and the tools are lacking to identify the most suitable professional figures to help manage the situation when needed. Therefore, the approach to the problem must be multidisciplinary. A methodology based on three fundamental elements is proposed: 1. Training the patient with regard to her/his addiction, providing objective and scientific information, 2. Providing the patient with the right tools, i.e. ‘know-how’, 3. Preventing relapses. Our patients’ stories report how they have learned to manage their emotional needs without escaping, to observe their thoughts by recognising their distortions, to identify what triggers their spasmodic desire for food and understand their behaviour in depth, and to connect better with themselves and others, also sharing the painful emotions along the way! KEY WORDS sugar addiction; food addiction; awareness; addiction treatment; multidisciplinary team.

Abstract:
With the development of technology, social media has been disseminated to the masses, and now basically everyone has their social media accounts. People may not realize that they are addicted to social media, but on the subway, on the bus, while waiting for a meal, when relaxing, or when people are alone, people often use social media to pass their time, they subconsciously open social media to browse, but they can’t live without it. The term “low-headed” is also used to describe those people who are always on their phones. The topic of this article is how to overcome social media addiction. Some case studies or personal experiences will be cited. It is divided into “what,” “why,” and “how” sections so that people understand what social media addiction is, whether they have this symptom, and why they are addicted to it. Finally, it will explain how to choose a better choice, i.e. how to overcome social media addiction. The study is focused on people who are addicted to cell phones. In this era of new media, cell phone addiction has its causes and many external factors, but people can still avoid social media addiction if they are conscious to overcome other aspects such as dependency.

Wyner, Garret B. "Spiritual Addiction: Searching for Love in a Coldly Indifferent World." Religions 13, no. 4 (March 30, 2022): 300. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/rel13040300.

Abstract:
I describe “spiritual” addiction as a felt compulsion to seek surrogates in the absence of that spirit of unconditional love underlying core personality change. We awaken to a “real” world akin to a prison in which all sides seem morally compromised, so any choice seems to necessitate sacrificing our conscientious relationship to the truth. Thus, spiritual addiction runs deeper than physical and psychological addictions to include socially accepted “addictions” to all we associate with “success”—including our morality and religion. All that we seek may be grounded in a collectively imbibed prejudice toward truth itself. If so, such a prejudice, underlying spiritual addiction, compromises our will, reason, feelings, actions, and character—including all of our relationships. It underlies the reality of a collective moral crisis which, we show, is more deeply a religious crisis tempting us to doubt the reality and attainability of that unconditional love that provides a foundation for hope. To overcome the prejudice underlying spiritual addiction, we show how unconditional love can be realized by placing conscientiousness in the foreground of concern as we are guided by the most reliable moral and spiritual witnesses in our history distinct from any religious group claiming to speak in their name.

Abstract:
Since nonprofits use third-party funds for their activities, they are often perceived as resource managers or spending units, instead of being considered as social wealth generating entities. The aim of this study is to help to overcome this myopic perception by showing how the invisible wealth generated by these organizations can be made visible. We use the SROI methodology to do so, by identifying stakeholders, outcomes (tangible, intangible) and social impacts in a drug addiction treatment centre. The results show that social impact in monetary terms exceeds that of the inputs used, confirming the idea that addiction-based nonprofits are social wealth generating units. The conclusion drawn is that social impact measurement should be widely used as a management tool and a mechanism for reinforcing the social image of nonprofits.

Abstract:
This article examines Easyway, a popular clinical and self-help method for the treatment of smoking addiction established by the late Allen Carr in 1984. It begins by addressing how smoking has come to be constituted as a neuropharmacological addiction and some of the issues and concerns raised against this in the social sciences. After situating its theoretical and empirical focus, the article then proceeds with an interpretative thematic analysis of a selection of Easyway self-help texts. The aims here are as follows: firstly, to show how Easyway, as a discourse, constitutes the problem of nicotine addiction in novel and distinctive ways; secondly, to elaborate how the Easyway texts seek to govern readers—paradoxically, through their free capacity for reflection, introspection, and action—to overcome their situated addiction to smoking; and thirdly, to identify and locate the significance of the author’s implicit claims to charisma in underpinning his authority to know and treat nicotine addiction.

Abstract:
The literature on hybrid masculinity suggests that some men manage subordinate or contradictory forms of masculinity while still maintaining and benefiting from gender inequality. Drawing from 35 in-depth qualitative interviews with religious participants in pornography addiction recovery programs, we expand this literature by illustrating how hybrid masculinity operates through shared cultural knowledge about sex, gender, and sexuality. We find that participants use distinct cultural schemas related to religion and science to explain how men are created by God to be biologically “hard-wired” for pornography addiction. We use the phrase redemptive masculinity to describe a type of hybrid masculinity that upholds the cultural association between hegemonic masculinity and pornography consumption, but allows religious men to describe their avoidance of pornography as a masculine feat. Redemptive masculinity depends upon particular beliefs about gender that give advantage to the religious men who work to overcome pornography addiction. We show how their stories reinforce essentialist differences between male and female bodies that protect the interests and sexual expressions of religious men. In turn, we show how hybrid masculinities may involve gender-flexible practices for men but also how these may ultimately reinforce strict and inflexible beliefs about so-called “opposite” sexes.

Abstract:
Purpose CrossFit has been popularized for the high intensity workouts it provides and the sense of community it facilitates; however, its potential as an adjunctive treatment for addiction is unknown, as is has not been published in traditional peer-reviewed literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the potential for CrossFit to benefit individuals in addiction recovery. Design/methodology/approach A search was conducted using the search terms “CrossFit,” “addiction” and “addiction recovery.” A tool was created to categorize key information within articles such as type(s) of addiction described, mention of support/community, main narrative type (personal story, information about a treatment centers, etc.), mental health described as a comorbidity, and if the exercise program(s) was(were) used to prevent, sustain or support recovery. Findings Nearly half of the articles reviewed (48 per cent) described personal stories related to using CrossFit as a means to overcome addiction, and 26 per cent were about CrossFit gyms targeting addiction recovery. A key finding was that 62 per cent of all articles mentioned the community and social component of CrossFit as an important mechanism of the recovery process. Finally, 33 per cent of articles recognized mental health as a comorbidity to addiction and therefore also proposed CrossFit as a suitable way to improve mental health. Research limitations/implications Although this was a review of gray literature, the findings reveal how CrossFit may be an innovative approach for supporting addiction recovery. Practical implications The potential benefits identified in the articles demonstrate the positive impact that CrossFit may have on recovering addicts. Empirical research is needed to objectively study the impact of key aspects that CrossFit can provide to individuals overcoming addiction. Originality/value This study provides an example of how anecdotal evidence of addiction recovery can be used for analysis, thus providing a strategy to be implemented in addiction treatment facilities. CrossFit has been widely popularized by the fitness community, but the social support and exercise it provides may be a leverage point for supporting individuals in recovery.

Abstract:
The study is dedicated to analyzing addictive behavior among members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the context of war in Ukraine. The paper establishes a connection between religious identity and survival strategies in conflict conditions, and also examines the role of church practices in overcoming addictions. Specifically, it explores how religious beliefs can prevent or, conversely, contribute to the development of addictions, what forms of addictive behavior are typical for this religious group during war, and how psychosocial support from the church community can influence the overcoming of stress and anxiety. The research findings show that Adventists have certain advantages in managing addictive behavior during war, but they are also susceptible to the influence of stress and traumatic events. In conclusion, the paper proposes practical measures aimed at protecting believers of this denomination from addictions, particularly through maintaining a healthy lifestyle and active support from spiritual leadership and the community. Special attention is paid to the strategies Adventists use to overcome stress and maintain psychological balance. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms through which war affects the manifestation of addictive behavior and is important for developing strategies of mental support for Christian believers in conditions of prolonged conflict. Some of the reasons individuals consume alcohol include to dare to take risks, calm themselves, overcome themselves, run away from loneliness, forget sadness, feel confident, overcome depression, adjust to social situations, relieve pain, overcome personal stress when many schoolwork. The ease of getting liquor and the loose supervision of parents and the surrounding environment are one of the causes of so many children who consume liquor. In addition, a sense of solidarity and friendship bonds are one of the reasons to try liquor. The role of parents in dealing with these problems is more participatory and passive. Where parents only reprimand and advise and some even do nothing, so that children still cannot escape from alcoholism.

Abstract:
Cenacolo community is a Catholic association whose mission is to help people overcome addiction. It originated as a grassroots movement in 1983. by sister Elvira Petrozzi and has over 50 houses worldwide, with headquarters in Italy. Over the years, the community has become known as a place where people change their addictive habits through work and prayer, by living together for an extended period of three years on average. To understand how the method works, we analysed 49 testimonials of former addicts who, at the time of giving testimony, were members of the community. What emerged from the research is that, besides work and prayer, the central motivation for the former addicts to complete the programme, is friendship. This was not clear from the outset, but gradually emerged through the application of the grounded theory. Grounded theory is the methodology developed by sociologists Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss. It allows the researcher to extract the main features of the studied reality by giving voice to the participants in the first place. Grounded theory has rarely been used in theology, and this research is one of the few done so far in the theological realm. The results show that, while work and prayer have a certain importance, the former addicts find friendship to be the main force which helps them to change their habits and start a new life.

Abstract:
Many barriers to health care interventions are principally cultural rather than technical. North America's first and only supervised injection facility, known as Insite, where injection drug users legally inject illicit drugs within a government funded and sanctioned setting, illustrates the cultural roots of health care. Its establishment is a story of intentional cultural change that required the identification of implicit and explicit values about addiction as part of an anthropological action plan. The plan involved changing narratives so that supervised injection could become culturally possible. This essay reviews how an action-based strategy, rooted in practiced anthropology, was deployed to overcome narrative obstacles to create and protect a medically defensible but culturally controversial program located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Abstract:
This interview asks how we can move to the next era of urban design, away from extractive capitalist models towards a more connected and equitable society. While there is disagreement over what exactly might come next—Young favours a new ‘compassionate capitalism’, while Nash argues for the importance of imagining non-capitalist models—both argue for regenerative economic models that empower people at the community level. Nash argues that Pākehā need to overcome their addiction to individual, exclusive land and property ownership, and to recognise how the violent history of colonialism underpins the ongoing commodification of land. The unfolding Covid-19 crisis lays bare the failings of our current economic model and prompts us to radically reimagine what might be possible. Young and Nash’s dialogue suggests that this involves both a reckoning with our past and taking a stand in the future—imagining the world we want to inhabit as a first step towards transforming it.

Abstract:
Background For people experiencing substance use or gambling disorders, web-based peer-supported forums are a space where they can share their experiences, gather around a collective goal, and find mutual support. Web-based peer support can help to overcome barriers to attending face-to-face meetings by enabling people experiencing addiction to seek support beyond their physical location and with the benefit of anonymity if desired. Understanding who participates in web-based peer-supported forums (and how), and the principles underpinning forums, can also assist those interested in designing or implementing similar platforms. Objective This study aims to review the literature on how people experiencing substance use or gambling disorders, and their family, friends, and supporters, use and participate in web-based peer-supported forums. Specifically, we asked the following research questions: (1) What are the characteristics of people who use web-based peer-supported substance use or gambling-focused forums? (2) How do people participate in web-based peer-supported forums? (3) What are the key principles reportedly underpinning the web-based peer-supported forums? (4) What are the reported outcomes of web-based peer-supported forums? Methods Inclusion criteria for our scoping review were peer-reviewed primary studies reporting on web-based addiction forums for adults and available in English. A primary search of 10 databases occurred in June 2021, with 2 subsequent citation searches of included studies in September 2022 and February 2024. Results Of the 14 included studies, the majority of web-based peer-supported forums reported were aimed specifically for, or largely used by, people experiencing alcohol problems. Results from the 9 studies that did report demographic data suggest forum users were typically women, aged between 40 years and early 50 years. Participation in web-based peer-supported forums was reported quantitatively and qualitatively. The forums reportedly were underpinned by a range of key principles, mostly mutual help approaches and recovery identity formation. Only 3 included studies reported on outcomes for forum users. Conclusions Web-based peer-supported forums are used by people experiencing addiction in a number of ways, to share information and experiences, and give and receive support. Seeking web-based support offers an alternative approach to traditional face-to-face support options, and may reduce some barriers to engaging in peer support.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective Persistent neuropathic pain is a common and often severe consequence of spinal cord injury (SCI). There is a critical need to better understand how to overcome barriers and promote facilitators to optimal pain management. The present study was designed to identify, from the perspectives of persons living with SCI, their significant others, and SCI health care professionals, the barriers and facilitators to optimal pain management for intense neuropathic pain. Design Qualitative interviews. Setting University laboratory. Subjects People with SCI who had experienced intense neuropathic pain for a minimum of a year (N = 15), their significant others (N = 15), and SCI health care providers (N = 15). Methods Qualitative interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed based on grounded theory using ATLAS.ti software. Results Inadequate access to care, information, or pain management expertise were frequently perceived barriers to optimal pain management across all three groups. Another major barrier was SCI stakeholders’ concerns regarding the risks of adverse effects and addiction to pain medication. Facilitators included having a better understanding of pain and available treatment options, effective patient–provider communication, resilience, and access to nonpharmacological treatment options. Conclusions Managing intense neuropathic pain poses significant challenges after SCI. SCI stakeholders felt that accessible treatment options were limited and primarily focused on pain medications with minimal benefit but with significant risks for addiction and adverse effects. Actionable facilitators to optimal pain management after SCI include education regarding neuropathic pain and treatment options for all stakeholders, better communication regarding neuropathic pain among stakeholders, and improved patient access to nonpharmacological treatment options.

Abstract:
The social well-being of the Russian students showed how steadfastly this category of youth survived the period of the covid-pandemic peak and the post-covid stage. Mass opinion polls revealed that the new generation mastered the distance learning system, and it properly assessed the prospects for virtual learning. Russian universities adapted to the new distance learning system despite the fact that the professional and educational Internet addiction of students increased. Working students pursuing “remote work”, were included in the state program of self-employment. The overwhelming majority demonstrated civic self-organization and a responsible position in the context of the covid pandemic, they observed safety measures, and the most active provided volunteer assistance to the people in need. It is not a secret that there existed negative consequences from covid self-isolation. They provoked family conflicts among the respondents. The conflicts were overcome by joint efforts due to the tactics of cooperation between “parents and children”. Thus, the institute of Russian higher education and the institute of the traditional Russian family were able to withstand all the covid-pandemic consequences of 2019–2020. The social well-being of students remained within the limits of the norm.

AbstractMontag, Wegmann, Sariyska, Demetrovics, and Brand (2019) propose an important framework surrounding the taxonomy of problematic internet usage, with particular applications to disentangling the role of mobile and other handheld devices versus stationary platforms. This is a critical contribution, as organizational frameworks have begun to move past “whether” there is disordered internet use, and towards better understanding the complex and multifaceted ways in which internet usage can be related to psychological maladjustment. In the present commentary, we encourage authors to extend this framework by incorporating developmental complexities. Montag and colleagues' (2019) contribution is discussed with reference to children and families, including: (1) the conceptualization of problematic internet usage and associated behaviors across the early years, (2) the types of internet use and devices that are most salient for young users, (3) the embedding of children's internet consumption within the context of a broader pattern of family media usage, and (4) the construct of behavioral addictions in pediatric populations. Recommendations for science and practice are briefly discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Evading apoptosis is one of the key mechanisms that cells become cancerous. Oncogenic proteins in the family, including BCL-2, BCL-xL, and MCL-1, which counteract the pro-death function of tumor suppressor like proteins, have been shown in many models of tumorigenesis. Thus how to reprogram the apoptosis regulatory machinery to tilt towards pro-death activity has been the focus of modern cancer therapy, regardless of conventional or targeted therapy. Inhibiting BCL-2, BCL-xL and/or MCL-1 anti-death proteins has also become the hot pursuit for drug development. To effectively kill cancers with heterogeneity, it is necessary to understand which oncogene is the underlying mechanism. Applying novel BCL-2 inhibitors, a selective or dual inhibitor for BCL-2/BCL-xL, which have been developed by Ascentage Pharma Group and currently under phase I/II clinical trials, we probed the oncogene addiction patterns in a panel of hematologic malignancy cell lines, including ALL, AML and MM. Methods Cell sensitivity to BCL-2 inhibitors was assessed by Cell-titer-glow assays. 2. Protein expression levels by Western blotting, or protein complexing detected by MSD method were used to dissect the mechanism of sensitivity or resistance. 3. Mice xenograft models were carried out to confirm the tumor growth inhibition (efficacy model) and regression (survival model) through combination treatments. 4. RNAseq was performed to reveal the transcriptome alteration by APG-115, a novel MDM2 inhibitor also developed by Ascentage, to re-sensitize cells to BCL-2 inhibitors. Results A panel of hematologic malignancy cell lines were first assessed cells' sensitivity to novel BCL-2/ BCL-xL inhibitors, and revealed a distinct pattern of dependence on BCL-2, BCL-xL or MCL-1, from the most sensitive ALL line RS4;11 to BCL-2, to the most resistant one like MM line H929. In between there is a mix pattern of dependence on these three anti-death proteins. To dissect the mechanism of action, we established and validated BCL-2:BIM complex using MSD method. In BCL-2 dependent cell lines, BCL-2:BIM complex correlates with cells sensitivity to BCL-2 selective inhibitor. While in the mix pattern, high BCL-2:BIM complex alone does not predict drug sensitivity. Pretreating cells with BCL-2 inhibitors, either selective or dual inhibitors, can disrupt the BCL-2:BIM complex and reduce signals detected by MSD methods (Figure 1). Such reduction is consistent with co-immunoprecipitation results using Ascentage selective BCL-2 inhibitor or reference compound ABT-199, suggesting BCL-2 protecting cells through sequestering pro-death protein BIM. To overcome resistance to BCL-2 inhibitor, we combined it with our novel MDM2 inhibitor APG-115. Both in vitro cell viability assay and mice xenograft models demonstrated that MDM2 and BCL-2 inhibitor combination can re-sensitize cells and effectively inhibit tumor growth or lead to tumor regression. To obtain a full transcriptome profile changed by APG-115, we further performed RNAseq on OCI-AML3, which is intrinsically resistant to BCL-2 inhibitor. RNAseq results revealed that APG-115 reprogramed cell cycle and apoptosis pathway, increasing its known targets for cell cycle regulation (p21, p15 protein) and pro-death proteins (BAX, PUMA and NOXA). Furthermore, APG-115 also increased significantly some target genes involved in immune or inflammatory response pathway, including MIC-1 (macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1, GDF15), IL-24 (also known as mda-7, melanoma differentiation-associated protein 7, tumor suppressing protein), and PADI4 (peptidyl arginine deiminase, type IV, regulating granulocyte and macrophage via histone remodeling), which may alter tumor microenvironment and manifest cell death signals (Figure 2). Conclusions Using novel selective or dual BCL-2/BCL-xL inhibitor, we probed the oncogene addiction patterns in a panel of hematologic malignancy cell lines, and revealed a mix pattern of dependence on BCL-2, BCL-xL or MCL-1. The BCL-2 addiction relies on the sequestration of pro-death proteins like BIM. Disrupting BCL-2:BIM complex by BCL-2 inhibitors can trigger cell death. MDM2 inhibitor APG-115 reprograms cell cycle, apoptosis and immune/inflammatory pathways to re-sensitize cells to BCL-2 inhibitor. Disclosures Deng: Ascentage Pharma Group: Employment. Abstract:
The objective of the study presented in the article is to reveal academic difficulties of primary school pupils occurring due to unfavourable enviromental factors and the strategies to overcome them on the basis of the experience of pedagogues. Problematic study question: What academic difficulties of pupils, which are resulted in by unfavourable enviromental factors, do primary school teachers encounter and how do they overcome them? Qualitative research type was chosen for the study. In the study, the method of a semi-structured interview was used. The study data were processed by using the method of content analysis. 12 pedagogues participated in the study.Academic difficulties of primary school pupils are resulted in by three groups of unfavourable enviromental factors: unfavourable factors related to their close environment (family) (the resolution of mutual problems in an inappropriate way, violence in close environment, emotionally cold relationships in their family, the lack of thoughtful and meaningful family leisure time, child's seclusion from one/both parent(s) due to various circumstances, the addiction of one/both parent(s), hypoguardianship and hyperguardianship), unfavourable factors within an educational institution (the mismatch between an educational programme and individual abilities and needs of a child, failure to involve a child in various activities, human and material resources of a school, unsafety of the school environment), unfavourable factors related to a peer group (rejection by peers, bullying, encouragement of a child to behave in a socially inappropriate manner). The study findings revealed that primary school teachers encounter the following academic difficulties: a lower level of a pupil's interest in his/her environment, the lack of knowledge and experience, the lack of curiosity and inquisitiveness when learning environment, a lower level of preparedness for school, attention retention problems, passivity when performing tasks, distrust / doubts regarding his/her abilities, fluctuation, regress or stagnation of a child's progress (learning achievements), reduced interest in learning and poor learning efforts when performing tasks, the lack of learning motivation, getting late to lessons or missing them.In order to overcome academic difficulties of pupils, teachers render them individual assistance: they make the best use of the opportunities provided by their curriculum (they individualise and differentiate the learning in a lesson, provide consultations after lessons, if need be, they organise additional lessons), talk with a pupil about the learning difficulties arising to him/her and discuss strategies to overcome difficulties, set learning goals together with a pupils, rethink their teaching style, try various teaching methods, which correspond to a pupil's abilities and needs, and enhance learning motivation, involve child's parents (guardians, custodians), and engage the specialists of educational assistance.

Abstract:
When a person has a goal of drinking alcohol or using another addictive substance, the person appears to be automatically distracted by stimuli related to the goal. Because the attentional bias might propel the person to use the substance, an intervention might help modify it. In this article, we discuss techniques that have been developed to help people overcome their attentional bias for alcohol, smoking-related stimuli, drugs, or unhealthy food. We also discuss how these techniques are being adapted for use on mobile devices. The latter would allow people with an addictive behavior to use the attentional training in privacy and as frequently as needed. The attentional training techniques discussed here appear to have several advantages. They are inexpensive, can be fun to use, and have flexibility in when, where, and how often they are used. The evidence so far also suggests that they are effective.

Abstract:
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) has been recognized as a chronic, relapsing disorder. However, much of existing SUD care remains based in an acute care model that focuses on clinical stabilization and discharge, failing to address the longer-term needs of people in recovery from addiction. The high rates of client’s disengagement and attrition across the continuum of care highlight the need to identify and overcome the obstacles that people face at each stage of the treatment and recovery process. Peer recovery support services (PRSS) show promise in helping people initiate, pursue, and sustain long-term recovery from substance-related problems. Based on a comprehensive review of the literature, the goal of this article is to explore the possible roles of peers along the SUD care continuum and their potential to improve engagement in care by targeting specific barriers that prevent people from successfully transitioning from one stage to the next leading eventually to full recovery. A multidimensional framework of SUD care continuum was developed based on the adapted model of opioid use disorder cascade of care and recovery stages, within which the barriers known to be associated with each stage of the continuum were matched with the existing evidence of effectiveness of specific PRSSs. With this conceptual paper, we are hoping to show how PRSSs can become a complementary and integrated part of the system of care, which is an essential step toward improving the continuity of care and health outcomes.

Abstract:
Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adults. Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adults. Behavior that leads to intimacy, sexual attraction and sexual habits carried out by two people of the same sex or the opposite sex before a legal marriage is called premarital sex behavior. This study aims to determine what factors can influence adolescent premarital sexual behavior based on the behavioral theory of Lawrence Green and Sarwono and how it impacts. The method in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Informants are teenage girls who have premarital sex. The results of this study indicate predisposing factors for premarital sexual behavior, namely lack of knowledge, increased sexual libido, emotions, expectations, enabling factors for sexual behavior, namely the use of technological developments and information that is not wise. Reinforcing factors for sexual behavior are the attitudes of parents who taboo on sex, attitudes of peers that have a negative influence, delaying the age of marriage, tabooing sex, sexual violence, role vacancies, economics, conditions for joining the group. The impact of this sexual behavior is depression, low self- esteem, reproductive organ disorders, STD, pregnancy out of wedlock, sex addiction, regret, decreased school performance, social sanctions, sex becomes a teenage lifestyle, and sexual deviations. Therefore, to overcome this, it takes a wise attitude from parents, the community, health workers, and the youth themselves, so that they can get through the transition period safely.

Abstract:
There are many tobacco users who wish to quit. In some cases, ostracism related to religious proscriptions serves as a barrier and prevents them from revealing their addiction status. Religion as an institution has an immense influence on human behaviour. It contributes to the cultural identity of individuals, moderating uniformity in their behaviour and social life. We describe a case from a province in Punjab in North India, where tobacco use is a ‘taboo’ due to the widely practised faith of Sikhism. The case illustrates how a doctoral thesis student, along with the healthcare providers at a non-communicable disease clinic, overcame the concealment of tobacco use of a patient with hypertension due to fear of social exclusion. The student assisted him in quitting tobacco use through a culturally specific, patient-centric, individualised, behavioural intervention using religion as a backdrop. This case study highlights the importance of recognising and appreciating the dynamics of sociocultural factors to develop a suitable and successful deaddiction strategy. This case elaborates how a simple ‘nudge’ of religious tenets-based counselling helps the tobacco addict transgress or tide over such barriers.

Abstract:
The results of an automated online survey of parents of schoolchildren in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (Russian Federation) are presented. The aim of the survey was to study the satisfaction of the parents of schoolchildren with the form of organization and the results of the educational work of the educational organization. The average indicators of parental satisfaction with various aspects of educational work are analyzed. It was revealed that the satisfaction of parents in the areas of educational work differs. Parents are little satisfied with how the school forms positive life goals, high life needs, tolerance for the views and opinions of other people, the development of volitional qualities, and independence. Parents believe that the school does not help the child to believe in themselves, learn to solve life problems, overcome difficulties does not teach the correct behavior in difficult life situations. From their point of view, the school does not sufficiently teach their children to reject nationalism, extremism, corruption; prevention of alcohol and drug addiction and smoking. Also, parents believe that the school does not prepare well enough for a meaningful choice of profession. To increase the efficiency of the organization of educational work, it is recommended to improve the training of future teachers in the process of obtaining higher education. It is necessary to prepare them for professional activity in modern conditions of digital transformation of society and education on the basis of a systematic approach to the organization of educational work and the use of innovative technologies.

Abstract:
The purpose of the articleis to learn about concept of codependency in professional works and the ambiguity of the term «codependency» owing to the connotation with the concept «dependency». Codependence as a relational problem that often, but not necessarily always, occurs in conjunction with addiction or disease. This theme highlights the fact that codependency is defined as a dysfunctional pattern of relating to others, present in relatives of those with different problems. Among them are people in relationships with irresponsible people and chronically ill people; people in relationships with emotionally or mentally disturbed persons; parents of children with behavior problems, professionals of helping professions (nurses, social workers and others). The researches have shown that various factors resulting from repeating stressful circumstances experienced in childhood or adulthood may contribute to this relation. It is characterized by emotional dependence, extreme focus in the other person, and self-neglect. The commoncharacteristics (self-esteem, dependency, depression and anxiety, anger, relationship difficulties, and stress-related physical symptomatology),types of codependency (aggressive and passive ones) and stages of it are presented in the article. Regardless of the reason why people become codependent, the negative effects brought about by this cannot be taken for granted. It is essential to know how to handle situations like this, as the inability to overcome and adapt to these problems and other changes may restrain the person from progressing both emotionally and psychologically. It is important that a codependent must gain knowledge on how to effectively get rid of distressful feelings and become bold in the expression of his emotions. Thus, being rejected by society and failing to adjust from predicaments have the ability to interfere individuals from moving forward in their life. These people have a very strong sense of responsibility towards others and even get to the point where they blame themselves for the sufferings of others. Their lives are dependent on that of others and their decisions are influenced by the judgment of others, but not their own opinions.
