Abstract:

AbstractHong Kong, a special autonomous region within the PRC's constitutional hierarchy, has a long history behind its privileges. It started with the defeat of the Qing Dynasty in a series of Opium Wars which ended with the 156-year rule of Hong Kong by the British which ended in 1997. However, the handover did not come easily. Based on The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984, an international agreement made by Britain and China regarding the re-acceptance of Hong Kong, it promised Hong Kong to be an autonomous region for 50 years post-1997 except in the field of defence and cooperation with foreign powers. This article seeks to examine the implementation of The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984 with a literature review method based on the rights it gives to the people of Hong Kong and the reality in daily life. Keywords: Implementation; The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984; Hong Kong; Autonomy; International Agreement.AbstrakHong Kong yang merupakan sebuah wilayah otonomi khusus dalam hierarki ketatanegaraan RRT memiliki sejarah yang panjang yang melatarbelakangi keistimewaannya. Dimulai dari kekalahan Dinasti Qing dalam rentetan Perang Candu yang berakhir dengan penguasaan Hong Kong oleh Inggris selama 156 tahun yang berakhir pada 1997. Akan tetapi, penyerahan tersebut tidak terjadi dengan mudah. Berdasarkan The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984, sebuah perjanjian internasional yang dibuat oleh Inggris dan RRT mengenai penerimaan kembali Hong Kong, ia memperjanjikan Hong Kong menjadi wilayah otonom selama 50 tahun pasca-1997 kecuali pada bidang pertahanan dan kerja sama dengan kekuatan asing. Artikel ini berusaha mengkaji penerapan The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984 dengan metode kajian kepustakaan berdasarkan hak-hak yang diberikannya kepada rakyat Hong Kong dan kenyataannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata Kunci: Pelaksanaan; The Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984; Hong Kong; Otonomi; Perjanjian Internasional.

Deiksis dalam Bahasa Ngaju. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif, suatu metode yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan membuat gambaran informasi sistematik, faktual, dan akurat atas data yang ditemukan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) wujud deiksis orang dalam bahasa Ngaju: meliputi (a) kata ganti orang dalam tuturan, seperti kata aku (aku/saya), ikau (kamu), ikei (kami), itah (kita), iye (dia), ewen (mereka), dan keton (kalian). (b). kata sapaan dalam tuturan, seperti mina (tante/bibi), indue (ibu), umai (ibu) mama (paman), bue (kakek), tambie (nenek), esu (cucu) dan Bapa (ayah/Bapak). Abstract:

Pekerja migran perempuan Indonesia (PMPI) memiliki peranan amat penting dalam meningkatkan devisa negara Indonesia. Saat ini terdapat sekitar puluhan ribu PMPI di Hong Kong, 2.191 di antaranya berasal dari Sulawesi Utara. Sampai saat ini belum ada laporan khusus yang meneliti tentang keadaan PMPI asal Sulawesi Utara secara spesifik, terutama dari sudut pandang psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi, tantangan, dan mekanisme koping para PMPI asal Sulawesi Utara dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif berupa wawancara, sintesis, dan triangulasi. Secara umum, mayoritas PMPI Sulawesi Utara di Hong Kong merasa puas dengan keberadaan mereka di Hong Kong, terutama dari segi penggajian dan perlakuan majikan. Tantangan yang dialami justru kebanyakan berasal dari keluarga di Indonesia. Terlepas dari berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi, mereka tetap bertahan di Hong Kong karena mereka adalah sumber nafkah utama bagi keluarga inti dan keluarga luas mereka. Mekanisme koping yang diambil untuk bertahan kebanyakan berupa sugesti diri dan berdoa, dan melakukan kegiatan keagamaan bersama teman-teman PMPI lainnya.

Abstract:

Citizenship education exists because the problems that occur in society. The urgency of citizenship education is very important due to global issue of human rights that occur in South Africa and Hong Kong. The purpose of this article is to show how we can see the urgency of citizenship education in the context of global issues (Human Rights) in South Africa and Hong Kong both theoretically and factually. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by seeking some information from 15 national indexed journal, documentation and some other sources that support the research objectives and metaanalysing to get critical and valid research. The results of this study says that citizenship education has an important role viewed by historically and empirically in minimizing human rights issues, society have an erudation of their country and participate in understanding of universal citizenship to face global challenges. Keywords: citizenship education, urgency, humas rights issues, South Africa, Hong Kong ABSTRAK Pendidikan kewarganegaraan hadir karena permasalahan yang terjadi dalam kehidupan masyarakat disuatu negara. Pendidikan kewarganegaraa sangat penting untuk meminimalisir permasalahan isu global HAM yang terjadi di Afrika Selatan dan Hong Kong. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji lebih dalam urgensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan dalam konteks isu global (HAM) di Afrika Selatan dan Hong Kong baik secara teoritis maupun faktual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literatur review dengan cara mencari beberapa informasi dari 15 jurnal terindeks nasional yang relevan dan beberapa sumber-sumber lain yang mendukung tercapainya tujuan penelitian. Kemudian dilakukan analisis data agar mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang kritis dan valid. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa Pendidikan kewarganegaraan memiliki peranan yang sangat penting jika ditinjau secara historis dan empiris dalam meminimalisir permasalahan HAM yang terjadi di Negara Afrika Selatan dan Hong Kong, dimana masyarakat paham terhadap hak dan kewajibannya sebagai warganegara, memiliki pemahaman kewarganegaraan yang universal dalam menjawab tantangan global, dan mampu mengimplementasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kawasan Kowloon Hong Kong merupakan kawasan perkotaan di Hong Kong yang terdiri dari semenanjung Kowloon and New Kowloon. Kawasan ini merupakan pusat kota dari Hong Kong yang mempunyai mobilitas tinggi, dan kaya akan aktivitas. Kawasan kowloon memiliki beragam fasilitas seperti perkantoran, komersial, bisnis, fasilitas umum, residensial, konservasi, dan rerkreasi. Arsitektur kawasan sebagian besar memiliki gaya internasional atau modern yang menjadikan infrastruktur nya memiliki kualitas baik dan menjadi daya tarik bagi pengunjungnya. Kowloon merupakan kawasan yang memiliki pengunjung paling banyak dari penduduk Hong Kong karena terdapat areal perkantoran dan wisatawan karena banyaknya fasilitas hotel daerah Tsim Sha Tsui terutama terdapat area perbelanjaan, kuliner mancanegara, dan merupakan spot paling digemari oleh para turis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep imagability dan permeability dalam pengembangan kawasan Kowloon dengan menggunakan teori Kevin Lynch. Imageability merupakan penggambaran kualitas fisik yang dimiliki suatu objek atau kawasan. Permeability merupakan kualitas aksesibilitas dan aktivitas pergerakan manusia pada suatu kawasan. Hasil dari penelitian bahwa kawasan Kowloon memiliki citra kota path, node, landmark, district, dan edge yang sangat baik dan permeability mengenai aksesibilitas blok, lebar jalur, dan hubungan jalur sangat baik sehingga dapat dinilai kawasan kowloon merupakan kawasan yang legible.

ASEAN dan Hong Kong sepakat untuk membentuk kerjasama kawasan dalam bentuk ASEAN Hong Kong FTA (AHKFTA). Negosiasi perundingan direncanakan akan selesai pada akhir 2016. Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara anggota ASEAN tentunya berpartisipasi dalam rencana pembentukan AHKFTA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung seberapa besar dampak berlakunya perjanjian perdagangan barang ASEAN-Hong Kong FTA terhadap kinerja perdagangan Indonesia. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah model Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) dengan menggunakan Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) versi 8. Kerjasama kawasan ini diharapkan akan menurunkan hambatan perdagangan di semua sektor, khususnya penurunan tarif sebagai representasi penurunan hambatan perdagangan baik di Indonesia maupun di Hong Kong. Penelitian ini melakukan dua simulasi yaitu pemotongan tarif sebesar 50% dan liberalisasi penuh. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia memperoleh manfaat dari liberalisasi penuh perdagangan FTA ASEAN-Hong Kong baik dari kesejahteraan maupun peningkatan GDP, sedangkan peningkatan output hanya terjadi di beberapa sektor yang merupakan komoditi unggulan yaitu vegetable oil, oil seeds, wearing apparel, textile dan electronic equipment Penurunan tarif secara bertahap, pemberlakuan proteksi dan peningkatan daya saing bagi sektor yang berdaya saing rendah merupakan kebijakan yang sangat diperlukan. ASEAN and Hong Kong have agreed to establish bilateral cooperation in the form of the ASEAN-Hong Kong FTA (AHKFTA). The negotiation process is planned to be completed by the end of 2016. Indonesia as one of ASEAN countries will surely participate in AHKFTA. This study aims to investigate the impact of the bilateral trade agreement of the ASEAN-Hong Kong FTA on the Indonesian trade performance. The analytical method applied in this study is Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) using modeling approach of Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) version 8. This cooperation is expected to reduce the trade barriers in all sectors, such as reducing tariff in order to decrease the trade barriers between Indonesia and Hong Kong. This study conducted two simulations of tariff cuts 50% and full liberalization. The results indicate that Indonesia gained some benefits from full liberalization of ASEAN-Hong Kong FTA in terms of its welfare and the increase of GDP. The increase of output only occurs in few sectors which are categorized as a primary commodity such as vegetable oil, oil seeds, wearing apparel, textile and electronic equipment. In short, reducing tariff gradually and reinforcing protection and improvement to a sector having low competitiveness are vital to support Indonesia’s trade performance.

Abstract:

Abstract. The political stability and governance of a country are greatly influenced by public support and the commitment of public officials to accommodate the people's voice. The chaos that occurred in mainland China from June 2019 until the end of 2020 became a reflection that the political system of government of 'One Country, Two Systems' was a formidable challenge for the Chinese government after the surrender of Hong Kong by the British on July 1, 1997, where China used the communism system and on the other hand, Hong Kong uses a system of liberalism. Hong Kong's strong understanding of freedom makes this region very sensitive on several issues, one of which is legal issues due to the killing of Hong Kong citizens in the country of Taiwan. This article aims to explain the dualism of leadership used by the Hong Kong-China government, which led to anarchism, political instability of the government, and causing the investment climate in Hong Kong-China to decline sharply. The research method used is a qualitative method, with secondary data types taken from journals, book literature, and official websites used to search for theories and data that are vaild. This research shows that political realism in the demonstration case in Hong Kong is proof that the state in this case the central government in Beijing still has the power to always interfere in Hong Kong's domestic affairs.Keywords: Democratic Instability, Political Realism, One Country Two SystemsAbstrak. Stabilitas politik dan pemerintahan sebuah negara sangat dipengaruhi dukungan masyarakat dan komitmen pejabat publik untuk mengakomodir suara rakyat. Kekacauan yang terjadi di daratan China sejak bulan Juni 2019 hingga akhir tahun 2020 menjadi cerminan bahwa sistem politik pemerintahan ‘Satu Negara, Dua Sistem’ merupakan tantangan berat bagi pemerintah China pasca diserahkannya Hongkong oleh Inggris pada 1 Juli 1997, dimana China menggunakan sistem komunisme, dan dipihak lain Hongkong menggunakan sistem liberalisme. Kuatnya pemahaman Hongkong terhadap kebebasan menyebabkan wilayah ini sangat sensitif dalam beberapa isu, salah satunya isu hukum akibat adanya peristiwa pembunuhan yang dilakukan warga Hongkong di negara Taiwan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dualisme kepemimpinan yang digunakan pemerintah Hongkong-China, yang berujung pada peristiwa anarkisme, instabilitas politik pemerintahan, hingga menyebabkan iklim investasi di Hongkong-China merosot tajam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode kualitatif, dengan jenis data sekunder diambil dari jurnal, literatur buku, dan website resmi yang digunakan untuk mencari teori dan data yang vaild. LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in English; abstract also in Chinese.Historically, sports was globally understood within the context of a masculine value system both in the Eastern and Western Societies. The 'Ying' and the 'Yang' stand for female and male in the Chinese culture implied that the female are more fragile and submissive where as the male being more aggressive and stronger. With 90% of the population in Hong Kong being Chinese, the cultural belief in a Chinese society that "Women's place should be in the home" has confined women to attend household chores and child bearing activities. In early 20th century, with the changing role of women in China and especially in Hong Kong, women are more active that they were a decade ago. Women are equal nowadays in a wide range of activities because they are better educated, play a more committed role and live a more active life. Thus, their participation in sports has increased in the past decade both in recreation and in competition. This paper attempts to report on Hong Kong women's participation in major games and also to recommend strategies which can further enhance women's place in sports.歷史上，無論東西方社會，運動廣泛地被視為屬於雄性的項目。正如中國以陰陽來代表女男一樣，女性被認為較順從和脆弱的，而男性則較強壯和具攻擊性。在九成人口都是中國人的香港社會中，「女性應該留在家裡」的觀念曾規限著女性須要處理家務和照顧孩子的責任。踏入20世紀，女性對社會事務的參與也開始積極起來。時至今日，香港的女性在多方面都能跟男性般獲得平等對待。她們不單止得到較佳的敎育機會，在社會的角色也越來越重要。因此，無論在運動比賽及健體活動上，女性的參與比十年前的大為提高。究竟香港女性過去在主要運動競賽上的參與情況和未來女性在運動發展上方針應該如何?這都是本文探討的綱領。

Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini, yaitu Teknikmembaca , mencatat dan menginventarisasi . Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitisendiri yang merupakan alat pengumpul data utama analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan:( 1 ) mengidentifikasi dan menginventarisasi data hasil temuan , ( 2 ) mengklasifikasi hasiltemuan berdasarkan jenis majas dan ciri penanda , ( 3 ) menginterpretasi makna hasil analisisdata , ( 4 ) mendeskripsikan hasil analisis data tersebut. Abstract This study examines tone mergers in Hong Kong Cantonese from the perspective of variationist sociolinguistics. It approaches the issue of whether Cantonese has six or nine tones by focusing on two ongoing tone mergers: (1) the merger of yin qu T3 and yang qu T6, and (2) the merger of lower yin ru T8 and yang ru T9. Speech data from fifty native Cantonese speakers in Hong Kong were collected and analyzed. The change routes and constraint patterns of the two mergers were compared and found to be similar. The results support the six-tone system for Hong Kong Cantonese. This study serves as an example of how the variationist approach can be used in phonological debates.

Abstract:

In 2016, between Guangdong strikes in mainland China and Hong Kong’s unionization momentum, Hong Kong artist Wong Ka Ying posted a call on Facebook founding the Hong Kong Artist Union (HKAU). The gesture followed the mischievously named Come Inside, Hong Kong’s ‘first female artist duo’ created by Wong and artist Mak Ying Tung, which declared it would combat art’s ‘formalized system’. Ironically, one of its first actions was to enrol in a course on insurance that could help it formalize healthcare for artists. Come Inside welcomed the idea that opposition to the ‘system’ brings artists into it. HKAU took shape within this ‘trap’ when Wong and Mak started researching trade unions. ‘On Union, Displaced’ explores the past four years of HKAU existing as a union-not-yet-registered-as-an-official-union, a serious gesture of ludic conceptualism that plays with artistic freedom’s relationship to captivity and capture. Through Rey Chow’s theory of conceptual art as trap, it traces HKAU’s entanglement in the history of Hong Kong art groups, regional labour organizing, and efforts to reground the term ‘artist’. Studying HKAU requires various conceptual frameworks: Yuk Hui’s cosmotechnics; Laikwan Pang’s multiple sovereignties; Sandro Mezzandra and Brett Neilson’s border-as-method; Linda Lai Chiu-han’s performative research; and Frank Vigneron’s plastician. The article explores how being ‘plastic’ ‐ a union displaced; a union whose registration with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is perpetually negotiated ‐ has helped HKAU pose important questions about solidarity and sovereignty in art.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explain how post-1997 Hong Kong has been perceived in Taiwan and to critically evaluate the demonstration effects of Hong Kong under the “One Country, Two Systems” policy on cross-strait relations. Design/methodology/approach “Today’s Hong Kong, Tomorrow’s Taiwan” has become a dominant discourse in cross-strait relations in recent years. The paper has adopted discourse analysis of selected texts during and after the 2014 Sunflower Movement to elucidate the disapproval of the developments of post-handover Hong Kong and the construction of the Movement’s self-identity. Findings It has observed the following arguments which shaped the prevailing perceptions among critics of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy: political infiltration of China in Hong Kong could be extended to Taiwan in the sense that the Beijing authorities would adopt the identical approach to manipulate Taiwan through the cross-strait trading agreements; negative perceptions and images of China and Chinese capitals as a collective aggressor and a threat, raising fear and worries in both Hong Kong and Taiwan; and Kuomintang, as a ruling party at that time under the leadership of President Ma Ying-jeoh, was dismissed by protesters as an incompetent gatekeeper and defender of Taiwan’s interests. Originality/value The pervasive sentiments and perceptions about post-1997 Hong Kong has been articulated discursively by the young activists in Taiwan and Hong Kong into a statement – “Today’s Hong Kong, Tomorrow’s Taiwan” – which has brought about a somewhat unexpected bonding effect between Hong Kong and Taiwan through a strong disapproval of “One Country, Two Systems” and the China factor, which has be reproduced, delivered and circulated in both societies since 2014.

EnglishThis study describes the pilot project of religious education in the form of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) in Hong Kong. The findings show that Islamic Religious Education in HK has developed both in the form of organizations and Islamic teaching circles (Majelis Taklim). However their roles are considered limited, for they only provide religious education for adults and for children. This situation is due to the lack of competent teachers of Islamic subjects. Islamic Religious Education for children is available at the Consulate General office although the supporting factors are still limited. To boost further development, a stakeholder committee of the madrasah has been formed by taking into account all potentials and opportunities. IndonesiaStudi ini mendeskripsikan rintisan pendidikan keagamaan Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) di Hong Kong. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa perkembangan Pendidikan Keagamaan di HK cukup menggembirakan terbukti banyaknya lembaga Pendidikan Keagamaan baik dalam bentuk organisasi maupun Majelis Taklim yang kegiatannya cukup semarak. Namun peranannya dalam pendidikan keagamaan Islam masih terbatas, baik untuk orang dewasa maupun untuk anak-anak. Karena kurangnya tenaga ustadz yang memiliki kompetensi di bidang agama. Walaupun Pendidikan Keagamaan Islam bagi anak-anak telah tersedia di KJRI, namun kondisinya masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu berdasarkan peluang dan potensi yang tersedia, telah disepakati adanya rintisan Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah yang diikuti komitmen (agreement) dengan terbentuknya stackeholder atau tim penyelenggara rintisan Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah di Hong Kong.

This study aims to describe the mental health of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. The respondents of this study were Indonesian female migrant workers who worked in domestic sectors in Hong Kong, the number of respondents in this study were 100 respondent, female Indonesia migrant workers. This study uses survey method and quantitative approach with a sampling technique aimed at criteria of minimum 1 year working period, women and working in the household or domestic sector. This research was carried out using a mental health questionnaire. Mental Health Inventory (MHI) constructed by RAND Health Insurance Experiment (Veil & Ware, 1983) 38 items that measure aspects of anxiety, depression, emotional control, affect. Data analysis using SPSS is by using description analysis and different test (T-test). Result shown that in general respondents showing a good mental health condition (81%), very good mental health condition (1%), and poor mental health condition (18%).Keywords: mental health, Indonesian migrant workers, women domestic workersAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kesehatan mental pekerja rumah tangga perempuan migran Indonesia di Hong Kong. Responden penelitian ini adalah pekerja migran perempuan Indonesia yang bekerja sebagai pekerja rumah tangga di Hong Kong, jumlah responden penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 100 orang pekerja rumah tangga perempuan asal Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik sampel bertujuan kriteria minimal masa kerja 1 tahun, perempuan dan bekerja pada sektor rumah tangga. Penelitan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat ukur kuesioner kesehatan mental Mental Health Inventory (MHI) dikontruksi oleh RAND Health Insurance Experiment (Veil & Ware, 1983) yang terdiri dari 38 item yang mengukur aspek kecemasan, depresi, kontrol emosi, afek. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS yaitu dengan menggunakan analisis deskripsi dan uji beda (T-test) dan berdasarkan hasil analisa menggunakan SPSS menunjukkan bahwa secara umum responden mengindikasikan kondisi kesehatan mental yang kurang baik (18%), baik (81%), dan sangat baik (1%). Established by several independent filmmakers in Hong Kong in 1997, Ying E Chi (YEC) has facilitated the production and the distribution of Hong Kong independent films by means of VCD/DVD releases, video streaming, film festivals and community screenings. The non-profit body has played a key role in aiding local independent filmmakers’ projects, seeking film distribution opportunities locally and transnationally and building community networks in its home city. As the organizer of the Hong Kong Independent Film Festival since 2008, YEC has demonstrated its fluid translocal positioning by not just promoting the works of local filmmakers, but also introducing worldwide independent cinema to Hong Kong audiences. In retrospect, the development of YEC has reflected the transforming cultural landscape of Hong Kong to different degrees. From cinephiles and academics to the public, the audiences YEC has developed over the years indicates an ever-changing spectatorship in the making, bespeaking the various responses to the social environment under which these films were made, shown and watched. This article will use YEC as a case study to explore the mutual impacts between documentary films and their spectatorship which have shaped independent filmmakers’ production and distribution strategies continuously in postmillennial Hong Kong, particularly in the wake of the 2014 Umbrella Movement and the 2019 Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement. The article will draw on interviews with local independent filmmakers, in order to understand how industry practices and dynamics have responded to identification, social events and audience behaviours over time. In this regard, spectatorship is understood as not just an embodied experience of film viewing, but also a series of affinities between the filmmaker, the audience and the film work. As a whole, the article will probe how the idea of citizen-spectator has evolved and has become inscribed in spectatorial engagement with independent documentary films, which has oscillated between audiences’ approval and authorities’ disapproval in postmillennial Hong Kong.

Kondisi fundamental perekonomian Indonesia diyakini berbeda dan lebih baik dari negara lain yang sedang mengalami krisis serupa. Abstract This article examines autobiographic documentaries about families that expose “dissensus” in the mapping of transborder migration and diasporic desire that were the results of the Cold War in North Korea, South Korea, and Japan. Jae-hee Hong (dir. My Father’s Emails) and Yong-hi Yang (dir. Dear Pyongyang and Goodbye Pyongyang) document the ongoing Cold War in their fathers’ histories through their position as a “familial other,” who embodies both dissensus and intimacy. Hong reveals that anticommunism in South Korean postwar nation building reverberated in the private realm. Yang documents her Zainichi father, who sent his sons to North Korea during the Repatriation Campaign in Japan. The anticommunist father in South Korea (Hong’s) and the communist father in Japan (Yang’s) engendered family migration with contrasting motivations, departure from and return to North Korea, respectively. Juxtaposing these two opposite ideologies in family histories, as well as juxtaposing the filmmakers’ dissonance with the given ideologies in domestic space, provide the aesthetic form for “dissensus.” The politics of aesthetics in domestic ethnography manifests in that the self and the Other are inextricably interlocked because of the reciprocity of the filmmaker and the communist or anticommunist subject.

Abstract:

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the emergence of civil disobedience (CD) movements in Hong Kong in the context of the notion of civil society (CS). Design/methodology/approach The paper begins by rigorously defining the notion of CD, as well as the concept of CS and tracing its development in Hong Kong over the past several decades. By using a model of CS typology, which combines the variables of state control and a society’s quest for autonomy (SQA), the paper aims to outline the historical development of CD movements in Hong Kong. It also discusses the recent evolution of CS and its relationship with CD movements, particularly focusing on their development since Leung Chun-ying became the Chief Executive in 2012. Finally, by using five cases of CD witnessed in the past several decades, the relationship between the development of CS and the emergence of CD in Hong Kong has been outlined. Findings Four implications can be concluded: first, CD cannot emerge when the state and society are isolated. Second, the level of SC and the scale of CD are positively related. Third, as an historical trend, the development of SQA is generally in linear progress; SQA starts from a low level (e.g. interest-based and welfare-based aims) and moves upwards to campaign for higher goals of civil and political autonomy. If the lower level of SQA is not satisfied, it can lead to larger scale CD in future. Fourth, the CD movement would be largest in scale when the state-society relationship confrontational and when major cleavages can be found within CS itself. Originality/value This paper serves to enrich knowledge in the fields of politics and sociology.

Investasi yang berasal dari investor Hong Kong ke Indonesia merupakan salah satu yang terkecil apabila dibandingkan dengan negara ASEAN lainnya. Hal ini juga diindikasikan terjadi karena faktor perdagangan. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi peranan perdagangan sebagai salah satu faktor pertimbangan investor untuk berinvestasi di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan studi ini adalah Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL), untuk melihat pengaruh suatu variabel dan mendapatkan nilai pengaruhnya. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan bahwa dalam jangka pendek, faktor perdagangan mempengaruhi keputusan investor asing untuk berinvestasi secara langsung (FDI). , Sedangkan dalam jangka panjang, hanya ekspor yang berpengaruh terhadap FDI. Secara umum, pertumbuhan ekonomi dan stabilitas politik menjadi faktor yang secara relatif lebih dominan apabila dibandingkan perdagangan.

Jaringan saraf tiruan salah satunya algoritma hebbian; pada algoritma hebbian aturan pelatihan yang paling awal dan paling sederhana untuk jaringan syaraf tiruan secara umum. Pada aturan hebbian ini pelatihan yang terjadi yaitu dengan memodifikasi kekuatan sinapsis (bobot). Data ditunjukkan dalam angka bipolar yaitu (1 dan -1). Dengan menggunakan metode jaringan saraf tiruan-algoritma hebbian maka dapat membandingkan antara nikkei dan hanseng mana yang lebih baik.

Magic Carpet was launched in 2013 by Hendrik Tieben of the School of Architecture and Anthony Fung of the School of Journalism and Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as an outreach program combining documentation of daily life, community engagement and urban design. The project was first held in Sai Ying Pun in 2013 and was subsequently brought to Tin Shui Wai (2014) and To Kwa Wan (2016). Magic Carpet transforms a public space into an outdoor cinema in which movies about the neighbourhood are shown. The movies are produced by local secondary school students, following a series of workshops that prepare them to conduct video-interviews with the community. At Magic Carpet, community members and the general public interact with each other, building a stronger bond between themselves while empowering them to re-envision the possibilities of public space together.
