Abstract:
Replicating previous findings that homosexuals are underrepresented after middle age, the 1996 National Household Survey of Drug Abuse ( N = 12,381) and 2000 Kaiser Family Foundation 15-city survey ( N = 405) reported that homosexual men and women are seldom aged 50+ yr. and that older homosexuals are more apt to have a homosexual partner. Deaths of 228 homosexuals as recorded in the Washington Blade 1999–2001 were examined. Although more apt to have a partner when older, the median age of death of 88 homosexually partnered men was 45 yr., while for 118 unpartnered homosexual men it was 46 yr. This is consistent with the suggestion that homosexual partnering may be an additional hazard to men.

Abstract:
How many heterosexuals are ‘ex-homosexuals’? In 1984, a random sample of Dallas adults indicated that 8 (2.7%) of 294 currently heterosexual men and 4 (1.0%) of 393 currently heterosexual women said that they were ex-homosexual. Of an urban sample from 5 additional cities, 0.5% of current heterosexuals reported that they had been homosexually ‘married’. It thus appears that perhaps 1–2% of heterosexuals are ex-homosexuals. Proportionately more adults than teenagers and more men than women moved from homosexuality to heterosexuality. Of the 18 who changed, 12 became heterosexual and 6 bisexual, suggesting that perhaps two-thirds of those who abandon “being” homosexual ‘become’ heterosexual and a third ‘become’ bisexual. Because labeling oneself ‘homosexual’ is so mutable and value-laden, the term ‘omnisexual’ is suggested.

Abstract:
Beginning in the 1960s, American males began to plead the “Homosexual Panic Defense” (HPD) when charged with the murder of a homosexual male. Over the next 50 years, legal and literary academics decried the use of the HPD affirming that it relied on prejudicial stereotypes of “bad” homosexuals as sexual predators. This article revisits these critical debates and shows how these legal critics attempt to gentrify the “homosexual” into a good subject in order to justify his right-to-life. I argue that sexuality should never be considered a justification for murder, regardless of the particular homosexual’s status as good or bad.

Abstract:
Homosexuals face challenges in unraveling their personality, thus, the process of coming- out becomes a very difficult experience. Most of the homosexuals are craving for the liberty to express their personalities which they believe would give essence to their existence. They are hampered by various factors in the society in which they need to come across and gain acceptance and respect. This queer study reports on the process and findings of a mini- ethnography conducted in a gay organization in the Philippines. The aims of the study were to acquire a comprehensive understanding on the challenges encountered by the homosexual gay members during the process of coming out and to identify structural and cultural enablers or barriers in revealing their homosexual personality. Four themes were strongly identified: “internalized homophobia”, “perceived rejection”, “presence of homosexual friends” and “strong desire”. These themes were seen to influence the homosexual’s coming out process. If the culture of orientation disables gay homosexuals to come out, they would find a culture or make their own culture that would be worthy of their homosexual personality, giving them the liberty of life and security

Abstract:
Previous estimates from obituaries and pre-1994 sex surveys suggested that the median age of death for homosexuals is less than 50 yr. Four contemporary databases were used to test that estimate: (1) obituaries in the homosexual press from 1993 through 1997 reflected treatment success for those with AIDS but suggested a median age of death less than 50 years; (2) two large random sexuality surveys in 1994—one in the USA and the other in Britain—yielded results consistent with a median age of death for homosexuals of less than 50 years; (3) the median age of those ever married in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway was about 50 years, while that of the ever homosexually partnered was about 40 yr.; further, the married were about 5 times more apt to be old and 4 times less apt to be widowed young; and (4) intravenous drug abusers and homosexuals taking HIV tests in Colorado had almost identical age distributions. The four lines of evidence were consistent with previous findings suggesting that homosexual activity may be associated with a lifespan shortened by 20 to 30 years.

Abstract:
The aim of the study was to explore the influence of social media and social support on the flourishing homosexual identity in Accra, Ghana. The objectives were to determine the extent to which social support influence’s homosexual identity, the correlation between homosexual identity and flourishing levels among homosexuals, to ascertain the extent to which media, emotional, and social support predicts how homosexuals flourish, and finally to as certain how differences in the level of education predict how homosexuals flourish in Accra, Ghana. A case study design was employed. The population for this study was associates of the homosexual Community in Accra-Ghana. Using a purposive sampling technique, 142 homosexual respondents answered a standard questionnaire. Berlin Social Support scale (BSSS), Diener Flourishing scale Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale were used on demographics, social support, flourishing, and lesbian, gay, bisexual identity. Data was analysed using simple linear regression, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, and one-way analysis of variance. Results obtained indicated that social support does not predict homosexual identity among homosexuals in Accra. As an individual homosexual identity increases so does the level with which the individual flourishes. Thirdly, social media emotional, and social support was found to be a predictor of flourishing among homosexuals in Accra. Finally, the results also indicated that differences in the level of education do not predict how homosexuals flourish in Accra. The conclusion indicates that study has shown that differences in the level of education among homosexuals do not influence the extent to which homosexuals flourish.

Abstract:
Do homosexuals disproportionately molest children? A survey of 8 of the nation's newspaper news stories of child molestation during the first 9 months of 1995 showed that about 40% of child molestation stories in the major cities involve homosexuality. An Internet survey of FirstSearch for 1989 through 1995 indicated 46%, and of Newsbank for 1990 through 1995 60% of molestations were homosexual. About half of teachers, day care workers and other professionals caught molesting children assaulted them homosexually. It is argued that large unbiased sets of newspaper news stories appear to approximate the figures for incidence of child molestation by those occupying a newsworthy status but overreport homosexual molestation in general.

Controversies are commonplace among scientists who endorse different ideas about the determinants of homosexual orientation and their concomitant social and political implications. To measure the relationship between beliefs about the determinants of homosexual orientation and attitudes toward homosexuals, we asked 745 respondents in four societies about their beliefs concerning the origins of homosexual orientation. Analysis indicated that subjects who believed that homosexuals are “born that way” held significantly more positive attitudes toward homosexuals than subjects who believed that homosexuals “choose to be that way” and/or “learn to be that way.”

To assess whether a systematic tally of newspaper accounts reflect official foster-parent molestation a review of 6,444 news stories on Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe from 1989 through 2002 about child molestation yielded 33 stories involving foster parents. Of the 25 foster-parent perpetrators, at least 15 (60%) engaged in homosexuality In Illinois 1997–2002, 92 (34%) of 270 foster- or adoptive-parent perpetrators who engaged in “substantiated” sexual abuse homosexually abused their charges. These findings suggest that the proportion of homosexual perpetrators in a systematic tally of newspaper stories is similar to the proportion of homosexual perpetrators in datasets from large entities and put in question the current policy of utilizing homosexuals as foster and adoptive parents.

Abstract:
To assess possible morale and recruiting problems that might be associated with changing the military policy against admitting or retaining homosexual practitioners, a national systematic area-cluster sample of 4,340 adults and a Dallas sample of 842 were given a questionnaire concerning (1) feelings about nudity before homosexuals and heterosexuals, (2) military service and kind of discharge, (3) sharing communal facilities with homosexuals, (4) having a homosexual commanding officer, (5) having to depend upon a homosexual while under attack, (6) whether a change in policy would affect advice regarding joining the military, and (7) their opinion of current military policy. Consistent with other studies on the issue, 31% of homosexual versus 4% of heterosexual men reported less than honorable discharges. About three-quarters of the sample reported that, when disrobed, they were averse to being seen by homosexuals. About two-thirds of the men who had served, a majority of men who had not served, about a third of the women, and a minority of homosexuals felt that homosexuals should be excluded from or discharged from the military.

Abstract:
During the last decades there has been a change of attitude regarding the recognition of homosexual rights that is also reflected on their claims for recognition of their right to access to Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAR) or adoption.Although the Greek legislator has shown some signs of progressiveness by adopting laws that ensure the homosexuals’ rights, they have chosen not to include the homosexual couples in the l. 3719/2008 regarding civil partnership. In Greece, discussions concerning the integration of homosexuals in the civil partnership had already commenced during the vote of the relevant law. This discussion has revived after the conviction of our country by the ECHR in the case of Vallianatos and Others vs Greece. For the time being, however, the legal situation in Greece, as far as the homosexuals’ access to MAR or adoption is concerned, entails the following conclusions. Firstly, although the legal right to procreation is established in article 5 §1 of the Constitution, reality differs for homosexuals and especially for homosexual couples in Greece, which do not have access to MAR methods. It is quite common, in practice, for one of the members of a lesbian couple with fertility problems to visit a doctor as a single woman and gain access to MAR methods. On the contrary, homosexual men do not have any chance of having access to MAR methods either as single men or as a couple.Regarding the homosexuals’ access to adoption, Articles 1452 et seq. Civil Code make no specific reference either to the adopters’ sex or to their sexual orientation. So, in principle, it is possible for a single homosexual person to adopt a child. However, homosexual couples do not have the chance to be monitored by the social service in charge. According to articles 1545 et seq. Civil Code the same person’s adoption by more people at the same time is not possible unless they are married. Given the fact that in Greece same-sex marriage is not permitted, there is no possibility for a child’s adoption by a homosexual couple. In view of the above, there is a clear need for modernization of Family Law regarding the protection of the homosexuals’ rights as an attempt to cope up with contemporary social facts.

Abstract:
Referenced as both supporting and weakening the case for parenting by homosexuals, 57 life-story narratives of children with homosexual parents published by Rafkin in 1990 and Saffron in 1996 were subjected to content analysis. Children mentioned one or more problems or concerns in 48 (92%) of 52 families. Of the 213 scored problems, 201 (94%) were attributed to the homosexual parent(s). Older daughters in at least 8 (27%) of 30 families and older sons in at least 2 (20%) of 10 families described themselves as homosexual or bisexual. These findings are inconsistent with propositions that children of homosexuals do not differ appreciably from those who live with married parents or that children of homosexuals are not more apt to engage in homosexuality.

The intent of this study was to obtain data on the incidence and types of sexual fantasies of homosexuals and heterosexuals as identified by an original Sexual Fantasy Questionnaire. Participants were 142 subjects, 72 heterosexual college students (39 men and 33 women) and 70 homosexuals (39 men and 31 women) associated with gay students' organizations. Analysis of responses to the 34 sexual fantasies led to conclusions that the 10 most common sexual fantasies differed between heterosexual and homosexual men more than between heterosexual and homosexual women. Fifteen sexual fantasies were significantly different between the groups of men, with 7 fantasies reported more often by the homosexual men. Only 8 fantasy items were significantly different between the groups of women, with 2 fantasies reported more often by the homosexual women.

Abstract:
Although the U.S. Surgeon General characterized homosexual sex as “normal” and “healthy,” homosexuals and IV drug abusers have suffered disproportionately from the AIDS epidemic. Longevity is often utilized as a measure of health. How long did homosexuals live before the AIDS epidemic and how long do they live today? We examined 6,737 obituaries/death notices from eighteen U.S. homosexual journals over the past thirteen years and compared them to obituaries from two conventional newspapers. The obituaries from the non-homosexual newspapers were similar to U.S. averages for longevity: the median age of death of married men was seventy-five, 80 percent died old (65 or older); for unmarried men it was fifty-seven, 32 percent died old; for married women it was seventy-nine, 85 percent died old; for unmarried women it was seventy-one, 60 percent died old. For the 6,574 homosexual deaths, the median age of death if AIDS was the cause was thirty-nine irrespective of whether or not the individual had a Long Time Sexual Partner [LTSP], 1 percent died old. For those 829 who died of non-AIDS causes the median age of death was forty-two (41 for those 315 with a LTSP and 43 for those 514 without) and <9 percent died old. Homosexuals more frequently met a violent end from accidental death, traffic death, suicide, and murder than men in general. The 163 lesbians registered a median age of death of forty-four (20% died old) and exhibited high rates of violent death and cancer as compared to women in general. Old homosexuals appear to have been proportionately less numerous than their non-homosexual counterparts in the scientific literature from 1858 to 1993. The pattern of early death evident in the homosexual obituaries is consistent with the pattern exhibited in the published surveys of homosexuals and intravenous drug abusers. Homosexuals may have experienced a short lifespan for the last 140 years; AIDS has apparently reduced it about 10 percent. Such an abbreviated lifespan puts the healthfulness of homosexuality in question.

Changes in the stage of adolescence (physical and mental) can be affected by social stereotypes, acting negatively on mental and physical well-being, for example, young homosexuals. The objective of this research was oriented to analyze the level of acceptance of homosexual stereotypes within the homosexual group and determine how it can affect their mental health. Through a quantitative study, data collection is carried out with an instrument based on previous research, (n= 96), belonging to Andalusia. The results show that stereotypes are still negatively present in young homosexuals. The conclusions indicate that homosexual people fear to show themselves as they really are due to accepted social stereotypes.

Abstract:
Homosexuals According to Ziauddin Sardar's book "Reading the Quran"This study aims to describe the homosexual discussion in Ziauddin Sardar's book Reading The Qur'an. As text research, the research method used is qualitative with an interpretive-literary approach. The data collection technique was carried out in a documentative manner. Meanwhile, the data analysis was carried out in an explanatory-hermeneutic manner. The research results mention homosexuality as an act that is not explicitly explained in the Al-Qur'an. Homosexuality occurs because of an innate instinct or life choice. Homosexual acts in the contemporary era cannot be attributed to the sexual violence that occurred in the story of the Prophet Lut AS. Where the people of the Prophet Lut AS committed sexual violence through intimidation and cruelty. Meanwhile, homosexual culture in contemporary culture refers to the sexual hedonist attitude of a person who is motivated by psychological, health, hedonism, economic, and technological pressure factors. Homosexuals cannot be punished cruelly according to Islamic sources. So with that, as fellow human beings, we still have to respect homosexual perpetrators according to human nature, and not respect their actions. Despite this, homosexual behavior still undermines the social fabric

Accepting homosexuality is increasing in Nepali society, yet negative attitude toward homosexuals persists. In educational setting, homosexual students face direct or indirect discrimination. This article reports on the study aimed to assess the attitude of college students toward homosexuals in relation to various factors affecting it. A descriptive study was done on 160 students of Padmakanya Multiple Campus and Shanker Dev Campus using homophobia scale, a self-administered questionnaire that measured the affective, cognitive and behavioral aspects of homophobia. It was hypothesized that there would be difference in attitude toward homosexuals with regards to the independent variables used under the study. Exactly how these factors play role to form a college students’ overall attitude toward homosexuals is not fully understood, though associations between sex, religion and contact experience have been recognized. The study results show that male students and those who have no or negative contact experience with homosexuals hold more negative attitude than female students and those having homosexual friends. The implication of the study includes taking gender into account when working with issues surrounding homosexuality and emphasizing on more positive contact environments between heterosexual and homosexual students.

Among the siblings of homosexuals, a lack of sexual and romantic interest in women may be independent of erotic feelings for men. This study investigated the sexual histories of siblings of gender-dysphoric outpatients. The patients were classified into three groups: non homosexual males, homosexual males and homosexual females. Their siblings consisted of 301 brothers and 284 sisters over the age of 25. Logistic regression showed that the brothers of the homosexual male patients were significantly less likely to have been married, either legally or common-law, than the brothers of the other gender-dysphoric groups, even with age and relative birth order taken into account. This finding suggests that the low propensity for long term heterosexual relationships seen in homosexual male gender-dysphoric patients also tends to appear in their brothers.

Through 1998, 78 custody appeal decisions involving 79 homosexual parents were evaluated. The 142 children involved in these cases were exposed to a thousand child-years of homosexual parenting. In appeals records (a) parents recorded as lying or engaging in criminality or homosexuality were more apt to be recorded as harming children; (b) homosexuals more frequently were recorded as lying or engaging in criminality; (c) in 54 (70%) disputes the homosexual parent or his associates and in 4 (5%) the heterosexual parent was recorded as having exposed the children to harm(s), e.g., neglect, seduction; and (d) homosexuals were responsible for 111 (97%) of the 115 recorded harms to children. For 78 nonhomosexual vs nonhomosexual control cases, in 11 (14%) the 141 children were exposed to 12 harms.

Abstract:
Currently, the media has become a commonly used tool for communication between individuals. Although the homosexual population has been through the process of “being illegal” to “were accepted by some countries”, stereotypes are still unavoidable. Therefore, this paper focuses on the influences of homosexual media portrayals on the identity homosexual young adults, including how homosexual adolescents are viewed by the prevailing trend of the public. According to the research, the homosexual group is not portrayed in the media as realistic as the heterosexual people are. Gays and lesbians are described as opposite sex characteristics respectively. Negatively speaking, as a result of the one-dimensional portrayals, misconceptions about homosexuality are conveyed to the young public. In some extreme cases, young homosexuals may be traumatized and diagnosed with emotional disorders. On the other hand, a more open online community has been created by social medias. Young generation are able to clarify their sexual orientations better and to create better understanding of the homosexual population for the straight population.

20 homosexual men and 20 heterosexual men, including a pair of discordant identical twins, contributed photographs of themselves at 6 mo. to 6 yr. of age for judging on personality. 18 traits were rated successfully. Factor analysis yielded two factors, Extroversion and Toughness. Data for only 19 homosexual and 11 heterosexual men were usable for the t tests; no significant differences were found, although trends for the homosexual group suggested less Extroversion and less Toughness. For the twins, photographs the mother identified as the homosexual twin were rated as showing less Extroversion and less Toughness. In conclusion, no obvious differences were found in the ratings of homosexuals' childhood photographs but slight differences were hinted at.

Abstract:
The detrimental effects caused by the LGBT victimization in America are directly felt by middle-aged homosexuals nowadays and is internalized into their identity, creating problems that continuously affect them even after LGBT acceptance in the United States. The shift of homosexual identity in middle-aged American homosexuals is thus inevitable in order to regain their identity balance. Andrew Sean Greer’s Less depicts this issue through the internal conflicts of Arthur Less —a character struggling to accept his identity as an aging homosexual man. Arthur’s process in assimilating new experiences around him and accommodating his conceptionabout his homosexual identity become the highlights of this study. The writer utilizes Susan Krauss Whitbourne’s Identity Process Theory that deals with identity assimilation, identity accommodation, and identity balance. The result shows that past LGBT victimization has caused (1) HIV/AIDS trauma, (2) hyper-sexualized image, (3) cynicism towards marriage, and (4) internalized homonegativity, all of which creating the balance disruption on identity. When identity assimilation fails and identity accommodation occurs, middle-aged American homosexuals are encouraged to acknowledge that (1) homosexual identity exists beyond stereotyped sexual context, (2) there are no standardized attitudes that they must adopt, and (3) they are allowed to desire the same sense of comfort and intimacy through committed relationship or marriage, like their heterosexual counterparts.

Abstract:
The effect of exposure to information regarding the development of homosexual orientation on attitudes toward homosexuals was investigated. Testing was conducted in five regularly scheduled undergraduate classes. 105 volunteer subjects from college classes were exposed to one of three treatment conditions. Subjects in the experimental group read a summary article of current research emphasizing a biological component of homosexual orientation. Subjects in one control group read a summary article of research focusing on the absence of hormonal differences between homosexual and heterosexual men. Subjects in another control group were not exposed to either article. All subjects completed the Index of Attitudes Toward Homosexuals. As predicted, subjects in the experimental group had significantly lower scores than subjects in the control groups. There was a significant interaction between treatment condition and sex of subject. Scores on the index were significantly lower for women, but only in the experimental group. These results show that exposure to a research summary can significantly affect immediately assessed scores on the Index of Attitudes Toward Homosexuals. Also, the pattern of effects of these experiences was different for women and men.

This study aims to explore why homosexual and lesbian households can survive as couples' households in general. The research method in this study is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data in this study were collected using in-depth interview techniques. The data sources in this study are primary data sources taken from homosexual and lesbian families. This study found that there are two factors that cause homosexual and lesbian families to survive. First, the presence of children in a homosexual family becomes a mediation that can reduce both partners, even though the husband or wife already knows that homosexuality and lesbianism are deviant acts. Second, economic dependence, such as doubts about the establishment of life, is also a factor in the survival of homosexual and lesbian households. This study concludes that although homosexuals and lesbians are deviant behaviors, there are conditions and factors that cause homo and lesbi families to persist.

Abstract:
For years Ronald Dworkin has been a leading academic defender of individual rights. The political and jurisprudential theory underlying his defense has had enormous influence. Defense of the rights of homosexuals has been a prominent theme in his writings. In 1966 he published his well-known critique of Lord Devlin’s critical essay on the Wolfenden’s Committee’s recommendations that sexual relations in private between consenting homosexual adults be de-criminalized (reprinted in 1978b, ch. 10). In recent writings, he has condemned key rulings by American courts that denied certain basic rights to homosexuals. References to the rights of homosexuals are made in many of his works. But nowhere does Dworkin present a developed argument for homosexual rights. He appears to think that support for the rights of homosexuals follows naturally from his political-legal theory. But does it? If so, how? And how adequate is such a defense?

A homosexual has many problems in his life, including confusion of self-identity and social intolerance from the environment, because many people put aside human values in viewing the reality of homosexuals, so that society gives all “stamps”, such as homosexuals as pathological, anomaly, or abnormal. . This study aims to find out more about forgiveness therapy as a form of developing subjective well-being of homosexual clients at “Yayasan Peduli Sahabat Cibinong Bogor”. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method. The type of research used is field research. Researchers went directly to the research site at Yayasan Peduli Sahabat Cibinong Bogor in obtaining data and engaging with the subject directly. The primary data sources in this study were counselors or client companions, and homosexual clients at the Peduli Sahabat Foundation. The data collection technique was done by interview, observation, and documentation. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed descriptively using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that the subjective well-being of homosexual clients at Yayasan Peduli Sahabat experienced a good development of conditions after using forgiveness therapy. This is marked by a state of cognition or a new perspective on himself, which initially homosexual clients were unable to take lessons, considered failure, humiliation, but now they have changed such as being able to take lessons, the meaning of life, and life satisfaction.

Abstract:
Male homosexual preference (MHP) is an evolutionary enigma because it is partially heritable and imposes a fertility cost. In occidental societies, homosexual men are feminized at various levels and they have more older brothers than heterosexual men. To evaluate whether femininity and the fraternal birth order (FBO) effect are universal features of MHP or not, we collected original data from homosexual men, heterosexual men, and heterosexual women from Java (Indonesia). Facial photographs were used to test whether homosexual faces are feminized when compared with heterosexual ones. We found that faces manipulated to resemble the average face of homosexual men are perceived as facially feminized, suggesting that homosexual men are facially feminized compared to heterosexual men, although a higher facial femininity was not captured by morphological analyses. Then, family data were used to detect differences in siblings’ composition between homosexuals and heterosexuals. Homosexual men displayed a higher number of older brothers than heterosexual men, even when sibship size was controlled for, suggesting that the FBO effect exists in Indonesian populations. Independent of sexual orientation, men with older brothers seem more feminized than those without older brothers, consistent with the immune origin of the FBO effect. In conclusion, MHP in Indonesia is partially feminized and they have more older brothers. Such features are also associated with MHP in other cultural contexts, suggesting a cross-cultural effect of men homosexual preference. An evolutionary explanation is available for the feminizing effect, although the FBO effect remains unexplained even if proximal mechanisms start to be identified.

The article offers in-depth, critical analysis of the books The Men With The Pink Triangle: The True Life-and-Death Story of Homosexuals in the Nazi Death Camps by Heinz Heger and Damned Strong Love: The True Story of Willi G. and Stefan K. by Lutz van Dijk, touching upon the topic of Nazi persecutions of homosexuals. Both texts are being presented as matrix testimonies, which not only widened the Second World War discourse by introducing the homosexual victim, but also initiated homosexual variant of what Przemysław Czapliński’s called the “reverse catastrophe”. Although concentrating precisely on male war-time experience, the texts significantly exceed the dominant, male-centered narrative pattern. By discussing the issues such as ambiguous authorship, differences between narrative strategies, brutalization of the language and the authors’ attitudes towards body, sexuality or violence, the article demonstrates—thus far seldomly considered—“catastrophic potential” of the publications. Attention is also being drawn to the fact that by virtue of their existence, homosexual war-time experience no longer has to be considered—to use Sławomir Buryła’s term—“non-verbalizable”

40 appeals cases of custody disputes drawn systematically from all cases involving a homosexual parent in the United States were compared to 38 appeals cases involving heterosexual custody disputes drawn randomly from listings under parental “character” and 18 appeals cases drawn randomly from “general” cases in Dicennial Digest from 1966 to 1991. Each case involving homosexual vs heterosexual claimants was examined for recorded information about (1) the character of the homosexual parent, the associates of the homosexual parent, the heterosexual parent, and the associates of the heterosexual parent, (2) the effects, particularly harms, upon the child(ren), and (3) psychiatric opinion. 82% of the homosexual vs 18% of the heterosexual parents and 54% of the homosexual's associates vs 19% of the heterosexuals' associates were recorded as having poor character in cases involving a homosexual claimant. Of the 66 recorded harms, e.g., molestation, physical abuse, to the 73 children, homosexual persons accounted for 64 (97%). Of the 32 lesbians, 6 were recorded as having engaged in criminal activity and 3 of bringing false charges of child sexual abuse against the father. Psychiatric opinion, however, ran 25 to 12 in favor of custody for the homosexual parent. In the 56 heterosexual vs heterosexual comparison cases, 38% of the heterosexual parents and 28% of their associates were recorded as having poor character. Six harms to their 105 children and 3 instances of criminality but no false charges of sexual abuse were recorded. In the appeals court literature, homosexual parents were disproportionately of poor character and disproportionately associated with various harms to their children.

Abstract:
As the homosexual population in China is increasing constantly, more people are becoming more open-minded. Attitudes of ordinary people towards homosexuality have slowly changed from exclusion to acceptance. Chinese legal system needs several modifications to better protect the legal rights of homosexuals, including restrictions on violence and same-sex rape and same-sex marriage laws. Due in part to this predicament and traditional social rejection, gays live in an environment rife with violence, prejudice, pressure, psychiatric issues, and even suicide attempts. This research suggests three solutions to obtain their legal rights and social acceptance: homosexual education, a homosexual organization, and legal reforms. This study aims to further the cause of binary-sex individuals while assisting the homosexual communityand, in an ideal world, all sexual minority groupsin obtaining their legal rights and protection. It also aids in identifying the areas of the Chinese legal system that require alteration as contemporary society moves toward a more liberal ideal.

Abstract:
The article provides the analysis of three handbooks for homosexuals (two for gays and one for lesbians). Its first part summarizes their contents which demonstrate that homosexual relations do not belong into one class of phenomena. The problems of homosexual women and men are distinctive enough to preclude their treatment either as one group or in opposition to heterosexual relations. The factor which distinguishes them is not sexual orientation but gender — its social construct. The second part of the article concerns the interpretation of homosexual relations in accordance with Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of male domination. It is a principle which shapes social order. However, it is more than just a hegemony of men over women. It’s victims are representatives of both sexes. Social models of masculinity and femininity are translated through the process of socialization and impact on both homosexual and heterosexual people. These models are the most intricate problem in the sphere of intimate relationships among gays and lesbians.

Abstract:
Egodystonic type homosexuality is a condition where the individual has internal conflicts over his homosexual behavior. Therefore, not a few egodystonic homosexuals hide their sexual orientation by marrying the opposite sex, which we call heterosexual marriage. This study aims to analyze homosexuals engaged in heterosexual marriage, and the effect on their marital life. This study also analyzes the Christian view of homosexuals who are involved in heterosexual marriages. The result of this study is that humans were created as heterosexual beings, starting with the creation of Adam and Eve. The purpose of creating two sexes is to execute the reproductive function and for humans to not fall into sexual sin. In Christian’s view, it is stated that homosexual relationship is an abomination and forbidden. Marriage in Christianity is a sacred covenant before God. Homosexuals who engage in heterosexual marriages will have lots of conflicts, including having problems with themselves and their partners. Homosexuals in heterosexual marriage are recommended to take intensive consultation with marriage counselors, for marital happiness.

Abstract:
While the French constitution of 1791 abolished the crime of sodomy, the 19th century nevertheless allowed the political power and the bourgeoisie to repress homosexuality thanks to a broad legal arsenal. In 1942, Philippe Pétain explicitly reintroduced the criminalisation of homosexual relations into French law. Some years later, an amendment adopted in 1960 considered homosexuality a “social plague”, like tuberculosis or alcoholism. French homosexuals remained what they had always been: second-class citizens. The homosexual movement that emerged in the 1970s was mostly revolutionary and very few were interested in legalist demands. Many of activist came from extreme left-wing organisations; for them it was more a question of fighting for the revolution than attempting to become citizens like the others. With the end of the 1970s, the revolutionary horizon vanished and the French homosexual movement, in a quest for popularization, evolved its paradigms to fight against repression. This article retraces and discusses the evolution of homosexual mobilisation in the early 1980s, when gay and lesbian activists reconfigured the French homosexual movement from the perspective of claiming a “right to difference” and ending their status as “second-class citizens”.

The homosexual group (except one case that developed AIDS and died during one year observation period) contained otherwise healthy men some of which had no contact with individuals from high-risk areas and only a few sexual partners. Abstract:
With the increase in research on homosexuality, more and more countries and regions are beginning to recognise and accept lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) minorities and to care about their legal rights and physical and mental health. As there is less research on homosexuality in China, this paper sets the scope of the study to China, targeting the heart and health problems caused by the overly conservative attitude towards homosexuality in China. To a certain extent, it enriches the research on homosexual mental health in China, and also gives some suggestions to solve homosexual mental illness. Using case studies, literature research and data analysis, the paper concludes that understanding the risks of the disease and reducing social oppression are important factors in improving the mental health of homosexuals and that university education can help to eliminate prejudice and discrimination against homosexuals, thereby protecting the mental health of homosexuals.

Abstract:
The term homosexuality has changed depending on the historical and social context. Although, in the past, significant progress was made in accepting homosexuality, the social exclusion of homosexuals is still not uncommon. Yet, the existence of certain barriers such as homophobic behavior and various forms of violence does not prevent a homosexual person from revealing their homosexual identity. That is why this research aims to examine the experiences of homosexual people regarding the quality of their lives. In this context, research questions were formulated regarding participants’ experience in terms of same-sex preferences, hiding sexual orientation, feelings of exclusion, same-sex relationships and having children, and opinions about Gay Pride. The paper presents the results of research conducted in 2021 using the method of semi-structured interviews on a sample of twelve participants in the Republic of Croatia. The research has found that understanding their homosexuality represents a stressful period of their lives as well as the process of coming out, which they decide on most often during puberty and adolescence. The participants generally did not experience social exclusion, violence, and rejection. They would like to have children, and adoption would be the most likely option. In their opinion, there is no difference between raising children in a homosexual and a heterosexual family. Most of them are satisfied with their lives, and Gay Pride is considered important, especially in terms of increasing the visibility and rights of homosexuals.

Abstract:
A stratified random sample of 750 males in Calgary, Canada, aged 18-27 years, were given questions on sexual activity and orientation. Mental health questions included a measure of suicidality and of acts of deliberate self-harm. A computerized response format, which has been established as a good method for eliciting sensitive personal data, ensured anonymity. Almost 13% of the males were classified as homosexual or bisexual on the basis of being currently homosexually active or by self-identification. Significantly higher rates of previous suicidal ideas and actions were reported by homosexually oriented males than by heterosexual males. Homosexually oriented males accounted for 62.5% of suicide attempters. These findings, which indicate that homosexual and bisexual males are 13.9 times more at risk for a serious suicide attempt, are consonant with previous findings. The predominant reason for the suicidality of these young males may be linked to the process of “coming out,” especially for those who currently have high levels of depression. These results underscore the need for qualified services rarely available to homosexually oriented youth.

Abstract:
In 1997, prevalence of and risk factors for hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection were evaluated in 146 homosexual and 286 heterosexual men attending a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic in Rome, Italy. Total HAV antibody (anti-HAV) was detected in 60·3% of homosexuals and 62·2% of heterosexuals. After adjustment for the confounding effects of age, years of schooling, number of sexual partners, use of condoms, and history of STD, homosexuals were not found to be at increased risk of previous HAV exposure than heterosexuals (OR 1·1; 95% CI 0·7–1·9). Independent predictors of the likelihood of anti-HAV seropositivity among homosexuals and heterosexuals were: age older than 35 years and positive syphilis serology which is likely a proxy of lifestyles that increase the risk of faecal–oral infections. These findings do not support a higher risk in homosexual men but could suggest a role for the vaccination of susceptible patients attending STD clinics.
