Abstract:
The Worker Holiday Fund (WHF) was set up just after the Second World War as a state-dependent organization that arranged recreation for Polish workers under the socialist doctrine. The communist authorities turned organized recreation into a tool of indoctrination and propaganda. This research aims to characterize the seaside tourism architecture in the Polish People’s Republic (1949–1989) against the background of nationalized and organized tourism being used as a political tool, to typify the architecture and to verify the influence of politics on the development of holiday architecture in Poland. The research methodology is based on historical and interpretative studies (iconology, iconography and historiography) and field studies. The research helped distinguish four basic groups of holiday facilities: one form of adapted facilities (former villas and boarding houses) and three forms of new facilities (sanatorium-type, pavilion-type and lightweight temporary facilities, such as bungalows and cabins). The study found that each type of holiday facility was characterized by certain political significance and social impact. Gradual destruction was the fate of a significant part of WHF facilities, which, in the public awareness, are commonly associated with the past era of the Polish People’s Republic (PRL) as an “unwanted heritage”.

Abstract:
Thousands of summer colonies were created for youth in Fascist Italy (1922–1943). Most were temporary structures set up to assist children only during the daytime; dozens became the concrete symbol of the totalitarian project undertaken by Fascism to shape “new Italians” starting from childhood. Actually the colonies promoted by the organizations of the regime, state agencies and industrial companies, due to a lack of precise “models” of reference for the architects involved, present a highly varied expressive panorama, reflecting the complexity of the architectural debate in those years and the difficulties that faced any truly modern approach to architecture.

Abstract:
As a result of wartime operations, many citizens of child-bearing and working age either fell or became disabled, and in the best of cases required treatment due to a worsening of hygienic conditions and malnutrition. According to the Polska Zbrojna magazine from 1933, the health of the Fatherland’s defenders required particular attention. For this reason, in the Second Republic of Poland, the officers’ corps had its own holiday system. Military architecture can largely bring to mind standardised urban layouts of barracks complexes filled with repetitive architecture. However, the architecture of holiday houses, sanatoriums and officers’ homes dedicated to recreation and entertainment (pensioners insisted on the hosting of dancing nights) and health treatment/convalescence is something different altogether. Although the first military holiday home in Cetniewo was built in the manorial style, the so-called White Manor (Biały Dworek), successive buildings were largely designed in the Modernist style, which perfectly fit the relaxed atmosphere and was healthy due to its immanent assumptions: it was equipped with impressive glazing, where the clash of masses caused the appearance of open rooftop terraces, etc. Officers, non-commissioned officers and their families had access to year-round holiday facilities such as the Officers’ Holiday Home in Augustów, seasonal facilities (Officers’ Holiday Complex in Jurata), as well as sanatoriums (Military Sanatorium in Otwock). After sailing and kayaking had become popular among officers, facilities dedicated to specific sports club began to appear, such as the Yacht Club in Zegrze. The design of such facilities was the domain of not only military engineers, but also avant-garde civilian designers, such as Edgar Norwerth, Marian Lalewicz, etc. Recreational homes were not only of recreational and integrative significance, but were also important in propaganda: the Officers’ Recreational Home in Cetniewo was to mark Polish presence on the freshly reclaimed Baltic coast through its modern, avant-garde architecture.

Abstract:
The article covers the results of the study of a historical wooden holiday architectural ensemble called Świdermajer, located on the outskirts of Warsaw in Poland. The fashion for traveling and resting within natural surroundings emerged in the 19th century, contributing to the popularization of a new model of spending free time. It had an impact on the development of a new type of architecture, including the “Swiss style”, today representing an extremely picturesque European architectural heritage integrated into the landscape. The area of Otwock is one of a very few of such places in Poland, where the entire complexes of suburban wooden holiday buildings from the late 19th and early 20th century have survived. This paper aims to show an overview of a development of the local wooden building trend on the “Otwock Line” within its historical and social background. The main goal of the study focuses on identifying the characteristic features of the architectural wooden local style. As a final outcome of the study, the article presents the method applied for the recording and assessment of historic wooden summer villas. The conducted study confirmed the distinctiveness of the phenomenon represented by cultural values and, at the same time, its strong links with the Alpine style of architecture.

Abstract:
Houses are fascinating because they seem to occupy a pivotal position in the spectrum of human construction. They are, perhaps, located right on the watershed between what is generally understood as ‘architecture’ and what is considered as just ‘building’. They allow us to probe the very definition of what architecture is perceived to be. Using the typology of the dwelling - and three examples from three architectural practices - we examine differing responses to context, climate and the vernacular, documenting and evaluating commonalities and differentials in design approaches. The examples are a holiday home in Dungeness by NORD, an artists’ residence and studio on Loch Fyne by GMA and a house on the Isle of Lewis by studioKAP.

Abstract After studying in Budapest and Wien, Ernő Foerk first became an assistant to Imre Steindl at the Royal Joseph’s Polytechnic and later he started teaching at the Hungarian Royal Public Higher Architectural Industrial School. The practice of holiday surveys which is largely based on the experience gained in Wiener Bauhütte in Wien can be captured as a link between these two activities. Foerk’s full teaching activity was followed by the holiday paths he had with his students. These of course were also inextricably linked with the activities of the cultural heritage management at this time; the drawings made at that time were included in the National Committee of Monuments. Processing of the group in question may raise new issues of the history of architecture and scientific history possibly for wellknown monuments, sometimes for one person, as well as for a comprehensive look at Foerk’s model which has been previously sporadically examined.

Abstract:
The Balaia Hotel (1964–1968) near Albufeira, in the Algarve, designed by Francisco Conceição Silva and Maurício de Vasconcellos, is one of the first and most iconic seaside holiday megastructures built in Portugal. In its territorial approach, physical dimension and range of amenities, it represents a new stage of development in seaside tourism accommodation facilities. A self-contained and self-sufficient structure that shapes its own landscape. Also, the “turn key” commission implied the transition from the small-scale architecture office to the multidisciplinary design and planning firm, revolutionizing the Portuguese architectural culture and professional practice. This essay addresses the impact of the Balaia Hotel on the traditional structures of architecture production and, consequently, on the disciplinary debate of the 1960s in Portugal.

Abstract:
In the summer of 2009, while on vacation in Italy, I lay on a deck chair on a beach under the scorching sun reading Ecology of Fear: Los Angeles and the Imagination of Disaster. I had taken Mike Davis's book as holiday reading after becoming interested in attitudes to sustainability as represented in films through supervising the unpublished dissertation ‘The Science and Fiction of Sustainable Living’. The dissertation analysed approaches to the green movement of the 1970s versus those held today. It did this through the study of ecological science fiction movies made during the two periods. As someone grounded in humanities research, using film studies research methods rather than conventional building science methods seemed to me an engaging, original approach to sustainability. The dissertation compared the 1972 American environmental science fiction film Silent Running to the 2007 British science fiction film Sunshine. During this supervision, the student gave me a copy of the films. Because Silent Running resonated with me, I took it on that same Italian holiday and watched it again. I recall thinking that Silent Running offered a departure point for an alternative kind of sustainable design studio. Then and there, I selected a film clip that I screened – in the background and without volume – at studio presentations to students held in September 2009.

Abstract:
The decorative arts are integral and crucial elements in the works of Philadelphia architect Frank Furness (1839–1912) (Fig. 1). The wonderfully inventive embellishments to his buildings, in wood, metal and glass, contribute to a memorable richness and help distinguish his buildings from those of his contemporaries. Our current understanding of Furness and his works has been based primarily upon considerations of the buildings themselves, and on anecdotal information concerning Furness’s personality and family, and some reasonable assumptions as to how his work fits within the architectural and design trends of his day. A fuller understanding has been hindered by the fact that he wrote very little, that first-hand accounts of his working methods are few, and that, of his relationships with the artisans who produced his decorative designs, only the collaborations with the furniture maker Daniel Pabst (1826–1910) and sculptor Karl Bitter (1867–1915) have been documented. Therefore, the discovery of new sources of information that document an overlooked but long-time working relationship between Furness and a noted English artist is an important addition to Furness scholarship.

Abstract:
The regional aspirations of resort architecture give specific perspectives on the history of regionalism. The development of the shores of Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe, was determined by this particular regional aspiration. Iván Kotsis was a defining figure of Hungarian architecture between the world wars, and had a significant impact on the period - not only with his work as an architect, but also as a university professor and a public activist. This paper examines his activity around Lake Balaton on different scales, since it represented a peculiar perspective within the history of regional ideas. The research concludes that Kotsis’ regional perspective focused on resort architecture was an independent conception separated from both modern and local interpretations. Based on his university work and the knowledge transfer resulting from his international relations, he developed an integrated perspective on the region from an academic position. Reflecting on the problems of holiday resorts, he formed an autonomous method with which he experimented, to mediate between the universal modern approach and the local features of the landscape.

Abstract:
Queen Victoria (1819-1901) and Prince Albert (1819-61) first visited Scotland in 1842 when they were both twenty-three years old. What began as a puppy love turned into a life-long affection for the country its landscape and its architecture. Their passion culminated in 1852-56, when they had their holiday home, Balmoral Castle, built in the remote hills near Aberdeen, following a design by the Aberdonian architects John Smith (1781-1852) and his son William (1817-91). This article will analyse Balmoral Castle as an example of what we will call ‘built unionism’, that is, a building that promoted the royal couple's agenda of underlining the union between England and Scotland and the strength of the British nation. At the same time, we will show how this building communicated ideas about national revival that, at the time, were also developing in many other European countries, and particularly in Germany.

Abstract:
In 1973, Gustavo Gili published the Spanish version of Planning and Design for Leisure, by Georges Candilis. In the Introduction, the author emphasised that "from the moment we admit that mass leisure is in the process of becoming a crucial phenomenon of contemporary civilisation, we have the duty ¼ to clarify its true meaning, its content, its varied and multiple aspects, as well as the growing and preponderant role it is called to have in our society". From the disciplinary point of view, the situation demanded "a new architecture: the architecture of leisure". For Candilis, one of the founders of Team 10, tourism projects associated with the emerging welfare and mass consumer society represented the opportunity to test new urban planning and housing models which, as an alternative to the practices inherited from modernity, reclaimed denser patterns of territorial occupation and more diversified formulas of living. Many of the principles expressed by Candilis had already been announced by José Antonio Coderch, also a member of Team 10, in the unbuilt project of the Torre Valentina holiday complex, presented in 1959 at the last CIAM. The difference was now in the scale of the interventions. Responding to the democratic ideal of "leisure for the greatest number", there is an evolution in the traditional forms of tourism exploration, with the hotel giving way to the holiday mega-structure and the city of leisure. In Portugal, the protagonist of this transition would be Francisco Conceição Silva, “the architect of tourism”. Abstract:
This study aims to open a discussion on the concept of cultural sustainability in architectural design. We asked the question of whether spatial planning has a role in cultural sustainability and in which terms cultural sustainability could be considered or discussed in the design process. We started with a presupposition of an example that achieved cultural sustainability in time. We exemplified a holiday resort village designed in 1970, which is still in use with inconsiderable transformations. Social engineering was a necessity for the architects, Altuğ and Behruz Çinici, and their design approach was to achieve sustainable living considering financial, ecological, environmental, and cultural dimensions. Behruz Çinici and his wife, Altuğ Çinici, were influential architects of their time. For an understanding of Çinici’s design concepts, we first looked at the inspiration sources mentioned in his conferences. After studying their village projects, we suggested four spatial concepts for reading projects from the perspective of cultural sustainability. We analyzed their three resort villages, which were designed in the same decade, through the criteria we have suggested. In the evaluation, the distinguished features of Çinici’s resort projects are discussed in relation to the concept of cultural sustainability. In conclusion, we aim to open a discussion for the criteria we proposed for cultural sustainability in spatial planning, and to emphasize the importance of cultural practices for housing policies for regional identity in a global world.

Abstract:
This paper discusses a procedure for model selection in ANFIS for time series forecasting with a calendar effect. Calendar effect is different from the usual trend and seasonal effects. Therefore, when it occurs, it will affect economic activity during that period and create new patterns that will result in inaccurate forecasts for decision making if not considered. The focus is on the model selection strategy to find the appropriate input variable and the number of membership functions (MFs) based on the Lagrange Multiplier (LM) test. The ARIMAX stochastic model is used at the preprocessing stage to capture calendar variations in the data. The calendar effect observed is the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Indonesia, a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. The data of Tanjung Priok port passengers used as a case study. The result shows that hybrid ARIMAX-ANFIS based on the LM test can be an effective procedure for model selection in ANFIS for time series with calendar effect forecasting. Empirical results show that the use of the calendar effect variable provides more accurate predictions as indicated by smaller RMSE and MAPE values than without the calendar effect variable.

Lombok Island seems to be a favorite holiday destination for international and domestic tourists, because it has many tourists destinations, one of which is North Lombok Regency. This condition greatly impact on increasing regional income, individual of communities from service accommodation to tourist. However, judging from the interest of tourist visits which increase every year, the avaibility of facilites in terms of quantity and quality has not been balanced. For example, resort as a form of tourism accommodation are the most sought after by tourist, because the have the most complete facilities to pamper tourist while enjoying the beauty of the sorrounding environment. In fact, the condition of tourism accommodation especially in the sub-district of Pemenang can be said to have not developed according to the demand and needs of tourist. The existence of resorts as a place to serve tourists in the sub-district of Pemenang is very minimal, this can be said because the number of accommodation is dominated by homestay class which in general has incomplete facilities. Beside that, it needs to be supported by special treatment in planning a resort with an eco-architecture approach to reduce the enviromental impact of planning this resort. This approach in planning eco-resort is combined with combining the local architecture to be in harmony with the conditions and atmosphere of the sorrounding environment. So, tourists can be take a vacation and relax while feeling the atmosphere of the sorrounding environment that is presented in this tourist accommodation Index Terms— resort, eco architecture, reduce, local of architecture, environment.

Abstract:
The provision of recreation to the working population was one of the main tasks that the government of the USSR had to solve already during the first years of the Soviet regime. In this regard, they prescribed a line of improvement concerning the state of health resort areas of the country. Large-scale realization of new holiday homes, health resorts and medical complexes had started in the areas, which were located along the Black Sea coast, and in the towns of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. Design in resort areas was complicated by the presence of mountainous terrain and the special structure of historical buildings. A successful example of a medical facility in a resort city is the building of the “Udarnik” sanatorium, which was designed by Fomin I. A. and Roslavlev M. I. in Zheleznovodsk. The article is devoted to this building. The paper provides an analysis of the formation of the urban-planning situation that determined the location and shape of the design area. The initial and implemented schemes of planning organization of the health resort’s territory are analyzed. The influence of the historical context of the area on the volumetric solution of the structure is revealed. The relationship between the health resort and other significant objects of Zheleznovodsk is established. In the urban-planning decisions of «Udarnik», the authors managed to take into account the surrounding low-rise buildings and the significant height difference of the landscape.

Abstract:
In this paper, an Effective Electrical Load Forecasting (EELF) model has been introduced based on Feed-Forward Neural Network (FFNN) which utilizes the constructive method during training. The key aspect of this model is to automate the FFNN architecture during training phase in order to forecast the electrical load. Thus, the robustness of standard FFNN increases while forecasting the electrical load. Moreover, this proposed model can efficiently overcome the existing limitations of FFNN to successfully predict the fast load changes and also the holiday loads. The model has been named as Constructive Approach for Effective Electrical Load Forecasting (CAEELF) on a short-term basis. In order to evaluate the performance of CAEELF, Spain's daily electrical load demand data have been used. Furthermore, extensive experimental results and comparisons have been shown to validate the acceptability of proposed CAEELF for electrical load prediction over other standard FFNN models.

Abstract:
The article prefaces the publication of chapter 8 (Is This a Holiday?) from J. Shapiro’s book on W. Shakespeare and examines the architecture of the intellectual docu-novel which carefully reconstructs a period in the English playwright’s life and work and shows how the social and political developments of the Elizabethan era as well as specific facts of the Bard’s biography found their way into Shakespeare’s plays dated 1599. Drawing on documentary evidence, Shapiro pieces together the events of the year that marked a turning point in Shakespeare’s work. In terms of its genre, the book follows the traditions of W. Abstract:
Analysis of the potential and resources of each region in the country is necessary for improving the living conditions of an individual. The present task of the Lithuanian recreational system is to allow effective use of recreational resources on the Baltic seacoast. Recreational landscapes play an important role on which the prestige of a country depends. Its foreign visitors have an influence on appearance of new economic relations and investments into its economy. They leave a country with an impression about the potential of its economy, society and culture. This makes it important to ensure a constant growth of existing and future recreational sites, resorts and holiday settlements. This study deals with some of the strategic aspects of the country’s future development. Some concrete proposals on improving formation of recreational landscape are presented in the paper.

Since the second half of the twentieth century, in the liberal world economy, the idea has emerged that the benefit of entrepreneurs must be harmonized with environmental protection, safety and health measures for workers and the provision of extra-wage earnings. This 'fad' - underpinned by the philosophy of human rights and the ideology of sustainable development - is called 'corporate social responsibility' (CSR). Initially developed as an economic practice in the United States, corporate social responsibility has become a general hallmark of economic activities across the globe. In Romania, the most popular CSR measures are: meal vouchers, medical fringe benefits, training programmes and covering the costs of professional certifications, flexible working hours or working from home, access to gyms and lifestyle benefits, bonuses and bonuses, company car, holiday vouchers, mobile phones and high-performance laptops.

Abstract:
In order to solve the problem of web editing data mining effectively, a semantic network generation algorithm is proposed. First of all, on the basis of preprocessing the variant short text, the maximum matching distance between short text is calculated by using the dictionary to expand the semantics of the Chinese words, which is used as an index to measure the formal distance between short text. Finally, a weighted method is used to synthesize formal distance and unit semantic distance into text distance, which is applied to the clustering analysis of online comments. The length of the word list is used to punish the distance. Results show that the most popular query topics on the Internet are shopping 10%, entertainment 10%, pornography 12%, computer 9%, research 9%, healthy life 5%, travel 5%, games 5%, family medical 5%, sports 3%, personal economic plan 3%, holiday 1% and others. It is proved that the improved algorithm proposed in this paper is superior to other methods and the clustering performance is significantly improved.

While Malaysia is heading for urbanization, urban green space degradation had occurred. Malaysia’s typical urban green space had shown the demotion of social interaction among urban residents. Hence, this research aimed to understand the designs of typical Malaysian green spaces which are believed to enhance community social interactions. Variables measured were the physical and natural characters of selected green spaces including activities, attractions and settings. The observation took place during representative of weekday, weekend and public holiday in those green spaces. The result suggested that diversity of subspaces including vegetation density, animal populations, undulating landforms and water bodies afford social interaction behavior. A great number of tourists has embraced online travel booking. This paper examines the influence of four factors, namely credibility, trustworthiness, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use on booking intention and explores whether the attitude mediates the relationship between trustworthiness and booking intention. A total of 191 completed and usable questionnaires from holidaymakers in Malaysia were collected. The results showed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a significant positive relationship with the booking intention. The result also highlighted that attitude partially mediates the relationship between trustworthiness and booking intention. Abstract:
Today, there is a growing tendency towards tourism based economical activities. However, the impact of tourism particularly in the less developed countries can be very destructive in terms of the environment that is also an attraction point for tourists. It is widely acknowledged that tourists prefer to experience the natural environment, the social and cultural life, the historical heritage of the region they are visiting. Hence it is obligatory to answer these needs in a responsive tourism development process. When sustainable tourism is mentioned it includes conservation of natural and architectural environment, as well as the cultural identity while providing economical benefits. In this respect, sustainability of these particular natural, cultural and architectural environments is a crucial issue. The integration of tourism with the local environment and local community is another important factor in successful planning. In light of this discourse, the ongoing tourism developments in Bafra region in the north of Cyprus are standing at a very challenging position for decision makers in terms of balancing the impacts of tourism on these resources. Bafra's coastline is recently becoming a new center for mass tourism by its increasing number of hotels, holiday villages, recreation areas, etc. This study proposes sustainable tourism planning for a unique traditional rural settlement-Bafra Village- which is located in close vicinity of this heart of tourism. The continuity by conversion of existing traditional housing stock of Bafra village for tourism purposes is critically discussed in order to minimize the potential threats of increasing tourism demands.

Abstract:
This paper considers the definition and meaning of an eruv1 as “territoriality without sovereignty” in Jewish tradition (Fonrobert 2005). It begins by exploring the origin and development of the term eruv itself, as well as its applications in different urban settings. It distinguishes between, on the one hand, the “enclosure” of the eruv that is made up of various natural and artificial structures that define its perimeter and, on the other hand, the “ritual community” created by the symbolic collection of bread that is known as eruvei chatzeirot. It suggests that much of the controversy, including legal issues of separation of church and state, as well as emotional issues such as the charge of “ghetto-ization”, surrounding urban eruvin (plural of eruv) may be connected to the identification of the area demarcated by an eruv as a “territoriality”. It argues that the enclosure of an eruv is not in itself religious in nature but rather makes up a completely arbitrary and generic “space”, and that it is only through and on account of the eruvei chatzeirot that this space becomes meaningful as a purely symbolic “place” one day a week (on the Sabbath). In the course of this analysis, it considers the one “weekday” on which an eruv may be significant – the Jewish holiday of Purim – and how on that day it may be a tool by which the area defined as part of a given city may be extended.

During a couple of hundred years, a mixed-plan system has been formed in Alytus: an irregular one in the old town and exact and rational in the new town parts, based on a regular street network, correct plan and spatial structure. Historical factors determined the town’s development: on the right bank of the Nemunas river the development was slow (Alytus I), and the center of the town, formed on the left bank of the Nemunas river (Alytus II), from the urban point of view, was the most valuable part of the town. The period 1930–1940 was extremely important for the town’s development: central areas were arranged, quite a number of public buildings were built (town hospital, tuberculosis sanatorium, town municipality, seminary, etc.), a reinforced concrete bridge over Nebulas. In 1935–1944 Vytautas Trečiokas, the chief architect and designing engineer of Alytus district, tried to make Alytus look like a holiday resort and designed a modern elementary school. Abstract:
Varosha (Famagusta) was one of the richest districts, and best known holiday destination of the region during the 1970's. However, due to the war in 1974, half of Varosha was closed to residents and the other half became a bordered city. The demographic structure, in addition to the physical and cultural structures of the city was therefore completely altered. Postwar displacement and re-settlement in Varosha is the focus of this paper. The main aim is to discuss the lifestyle in Varosha from a cultural perspective using memories from former and current inhabitants. To achieve this, a set of semi-structured interviews were conducted in which two main questions were posed during the interviews: 1) What was the lifestyle in Varosha before 1974? and 2) What was the lifestyle in Varosha after 1974? these questions were intended to shed some light on the post-war landscape of Varosha. For this purpose, researchers followed a chronological order: life before 1974; interview group a, six Greek Cypriots who were former inhabitants of Varosha. Life after 1974: interview group B, six turkish Cypriots who were displaced and settled in Varosha; and interview group C, six immigrant/settlers turks from turkey, who volunteered to move to Cyprus and settle in Varosha. The snowball method has been used to identify former and current residents of Varosha. The findings are based on interviews with the former, displaced and re-settled Varoshian residents. The interviews revealed how displacement affected the city and the former and current inhabitants. Analysis of the findings were categorized under three headings: 1) displacement from/to Varosha; 2) belonging and identity; 3) life style and culture of each group. The categorization is used to describe how displacement affected the city and its citizens. In other words, this research targets to describe pre- and post-war life (styles) in Varosha.

The review compares two recent books: Holidays after the Fall. Seaside Architecture and Urbanism in Bulgaria and Croatia (edited by Elke Beyer, Anke Hagemann and Michael Zinganel, Berlin, 2013) and Enchanting Views. Romanian Black Sea Tourism Planning and Architecture of the 1960s and 1970s (edited by Kalliopi Dimou, Sorin Istudor and Alina Serban, Bucharest, 2015). They are the first comprehensive publications that focus on seaside tourism architecture and urbanism in the former communist world, in the three countries where these have been most substantially developed at the time. The two books are also part of a tendency in recent literature on the communist period, to see the brighter side of a built environment that is still generally considered to be grey and dull. The review compares the two editorial strategies and stresses their differences: Holidays after the Fall addresses both the communist and the post-communist periods, including the ‘architectural monstrosities’ of the recent liberal developments; Enchanting Views focuses strictly on the 1960s and the 1970s, with their unspoiled image of a clean and pure modernist seaside environment. Holidays after the Fall focuses more on researching and revealing objects of architecture and urbanism, while Enchanting Views looks to display as many different disciplinary perspectives and interpretations as possible. The review highlights their similarities too: both books develop comparative approaches, showing that modernist seaside developments in the communist Europe were closely similar to their Western counterparts and that seaside resorts have played a major role as instruments of lifestyle change and modernization.

Abstract:
AbstractMosaic landscape structures with traditional forms of land use are currently the most important landscape features, especially from the point of landscape and cultural-historical perspective. Their typical features are the alternation of the areas of narrow-field fields, meadow vegetation and permanent cultures, especially vineyards and orchards. Their presence in the territory is mainly related to the rich vineyard and fruit-growing tradition. On the territory of the Nitra district, we record the most extensive mosaic landscape structures from the south to the north-eastern part. These are heterogeneous units, typical of the rotation of small-area land management, scattered by non-woody vegetation and habitat. In the mosaic landscape structures, we also find elements of the traditional settlement architecture of the houses ‘hajloch’. Significant landscape elements in the form of mosaic structures survive thanks to the rich viniculture tradition. In the long run, however, there are changes in their use: they are often the subject of inheritance, they are converted into holiday homes or they are used for the needs of an expanding residential development. The aim of our study is to point out the dynamic and changes that occurred in the mosaic landscape structures between the two-time horizons (the 50s of the 20th century and the present). For this purpose, we use geospatial analysis to evaluate their area representation, spatial characteristics in relation to the surrounding settlement structure and selected properties of relief forms. The analysis and evaluation of the spatial diversity of mosaic landscape structures as important landscape elements play a significant role in protecting the natural and cultural heritage values of the area from the aspect of species diversity and rich gene pool, visual perception of the landscape, preservation of ecological stability of landscape, landscape potential and overall landscape diversity.

Abstract:
Traffic forecasting provides the foundational guidance for many typical applications in the smart city management, such as urban traffic control, congestion avoidance, and navigation guidance. Many researchers have focused on the spatio-temporal correlations under fixed topology structure in traffic network to improve the traffic forecasting accuracy. Despite their advantages, the existing approaches are not completely discussed that the association relationship among traffic network nodes are not invariable under different traffic conditions. In this paper, a novel traffic forecasting framework is proposed by integrating the dynamic association of traffic nodes with the spatio-temporal deep learning model. To be specific, an adaptive subgraph reformulation algorithm is designed first based on the specific forecasting interval to reduce the interference of irrelevant spatio-temporal information. After that, by enhancing the attention mechanism with the generative decoder, a spatio-temporal deep learning model with only one forward operation is proposed to avoid the degradation of accuracy in the long-term prediction, in which the spatio-temporal information and the external factors (such as weather and holiday) are fused together to be as an input vector. Based on the reformulated subgraph constructed of traffic nodes with closer spatio-temporal correlation, experiments show that the proposed framework consistently outperforms other GNN (Graph Neural Network)-based state-of-the-art baselines for various forecasting intervals on a real-world dataset.

Abstract:
The theatrical performances that appeared in the country after the revolution of 1917 with an audience of tens of thousands of spectators were a landmark phenomenon of social and artistic life. The art of mass spectacles burst into the streets and squares, subordinating the historical architectural ensembles of Petrograd to an artistic design. These searches began in the Theater and Drama Workshop of the Red Army, which existed in Petrograd from 1919 to 1920. The article is devoted to the second theatrical performance of the Workshop – "The Third International" (1919). The subject of this article is the reconstruction of the revolutionary theatrical performance "The Third International". The purpose of the study is to establish the director's method of creating a performance and to establish the origins of the activation of the viewer as a method of directing theatrical performances. The methodology of the research is of a historical and theoretical nature and is based on the classical methods of the Leningrad (Gvozdev) school of theater studies, the formal school of literary studies, the method of historical reconstruction of the performance developed by the German philologist and theater historian Max Herman.  A detailed reconstruction of the theatrical performance of the "Third International" of the Theater and Drama Workshop is given for the first time on the pages of a scientific publication. In the same view, N. G. Vinogradov-Mammoth for the first time introduces the activation of the viewer as a directorial technique. In 1937, CIAM 5 specifically linked the housing question to leisure, considering it an absolute necessity to acknowledge that the most privileged places will be chosen for the location of these leisure areas. Taking possession of these places by large masses will allow for rest and outdoor exercise, the indispensable recuperation of the forces lost in the city. As Charlotte Périand (1903–1999) asserted, the need to create machines à recréer, the goal was definitively to assure “the happiness of men”. From the first optimistic architectural swimming-pool complexes to discovering the enjoyment of beaches or of winter sports in the mountains, these “architectures of the Sun” began to link the power of landscapes with the relaxation and pleasure of the human body. Associated with healthy living and claimed for all, for the first time, the beaches, mountains, lakes and forests became identified as places for vacations.

Abstract:
This paper presents a method for predicting bus stop arrival times based on a unique approach that extracts the spatio-temporal dynamics of bus flows. Using a new technique called Bus Flow Centrality Analysis (BFC), we obtain the low-dimensional embedding of short-term bus flow patterns in the form of IID (Individual In Degree) and IOD (Individual Out Degree) and TOD (Total Out Degree) at every station in the bus network. The embedding using BFC analysis well captures the characteristics of every individual flow and aggregate pattern. The latent vector returned by the BFC analysis is combined with other essential information such as bus speed, travel time, wait time, dispatch intervals, the distance between stations, seasonality, holiday status, and climate information. We employed a family of recurrent neural networks such as LSTM, GRU, and ALSTM to model how these features change over time and to predict the time the bus takes to reach the next stop in subsequent time windows. We experimented with our solution using logs of bus operations in the Seoul Metropolitan area offered by the Bus Management System (BMS) and the Bus Information System (BIS) of Korea. We predicted arrival times for more than 100 bus routes with a MAPE of 1.19%. This margin of error is 74% lower than the latest work based on ALSTM. We also learned that LSTM performs better than GRU with a 40.5% lower MAPE. This result is even remarkable considering the irregularity in the bus flow patterns and the fact that we did not rely on real-time GPS information. Moreover, our approach scales at a city-wide level by analyzing more than 100 bus routes, while previous studies showed limited experiments on much fewer bus routes.

Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of the colonial exhibition of 1931 in the context of the metamorphosis of the colonial idea in France. After the First World War, the difficulties in managing the colonies were increasingly felt in France. The French political class hoped to give new vitality to the national consciousness, which was threatened by various social-revolutionary and anti-colonial movements, through the reform of colonial policy. The colonial exhibition of 1931 became the apogee of imperial propaganda in the metropolis and a symbol of unity between the Third Republic with its colonies. Its success was associated with the extent to which the colonial idea penetrated French society and with the stabilization of the mother country's relations with her colonies between the two world wars. The colonial discourse of the 1931 exhibition was an apology for republican centrism expressed through the firm positioning of racial superiority, the demonstration of the validity of the ideals of progress inevitably brought about by colonization, and the dominance of French values. The author demonstrates that the new political situation that developed after the Great War contributed to the achievement of colonial consolidation, on the part of the majority of parties and, mainly, through the deployment of the state propaganda machine. The colonies and the colonial question marked the outlines, the brushstrokes, as it were, of a national union. This union between the national and the colonial, the nation and the empire, was twofold. Between the two world wars, national and colonial issues became logically interlinked and interdependent. The author concludes that the 1931 exhibition propagated the idea of the imperial order through the display and presentation of idealized indigenous cultures represented by a variety of artifacts, fine arts, and architecture. The 1931 exhibition became a general imperial holiday, and was intended to serve the unity between the imperial centre and the colonies. It became an important tool of imperial construction, a fairly effective means of broadcasting the official imperial ideology, and a metaphor for the colonial republic, which embodied the cultural, social, and mental characteristics of the imperial nation; its hidden meaning was directed against the growing ideas of colonial nationalism and resistance.

Abstract:
<p>Now, people all over the world use messengers to communicate with their families and employees at work, schedule meetings, congratulate on holidays, and conduct banking operations using bots built into messengers. However, it is challenging to improve such architectures, as a result of which WhatsApp still does not have Chabot’s, whereas their competitors from Telegram already have them built-in. The essence of this project is to create a messenger that has an optimal ratio of functionality and code processing speed, as well as the ability to improve the architecture without high resource costs quickly. The basic version has features such as registration, logging in with your account, checking whether the user is online, messaging, and hash encoding for secure messaging over the Internet. The result showed a high potential for improving the application architecture in any part of the code within the acceptable level of influence on its other functions, as well as a more stable operation of the application itself in comparison with applications built based on Android or JavaScript. However, it was not possible to achieve a higher code processing speed in comparison with other Android or web applications. A method is designed and implemented to enhance the speed of code processing. The results produced by this proposed method and design has shown enhancement in the speed of code processing for messengers. Abstract:
In this paper, we investigate the influence of holidays and community mobility on the transmission rate and death count of COVID-19 in Brazil. We identify national holidays and hallmark holidays to assess their effect on disease reports of confirmed cases and deaths. First, we use a one-variate model with the number of infected people as input data to forecast the number of deaths. This simple model is compared with a more robust deep learning multi-variate model that uses mobility and transmission rates (R0, Re) from a SEIRD model as input data. A principal components model of community mobility, generated by the principal component analysis (PCA) method, is added to improve the input features for the multi-variate model. The deep learning model architecture is an LSTM stacked layer combined with a dense layer to regress daily deaths caused by COVID-19. The multi-variate model incremented with engineered input features can enhance the forecast performance by up to 18.99% compared to the standard one-variate data-driven model.

Abstract:
Image segmentation and classification are basic operations in image analysis and multimedia search which have gained great attention over the last few years due to the large increase of digital multimedia content. A recent trend in image analysis aims at incorporating symbolic knowledge representation systems and machine learning techniques. In this paper, we examine interweaving of neural network classifiers and fuzzy description logics for the adaptation of a knowledge base for semantic image analysis. The proposed approach includes a formal knowledge component, which, assisted by a reasoning engine, generates the a-priori knowledge for the image analysis problem. This knowledge is transferred to a kernel based connectionist system, which is then adapted to a specific application field through extraction and use of MPEG-7 image descriptors. Adaptation of the knowledge base can be achieved next. Combined segmentation and classification of images, or video frames, of summer holidays, is the field used to illustrate the good performance of the proposed approach.

Abstract:
Millennials is a generation who prefers exploring new things rather than saving for future. Millennials who were born in rapid high technology development era make the global culture affects the generation easily, this causes the local culture such as betawi culture is less demanded by millennials. Tourism area in South Jakarta which less centralized and not having strong activity connection make some of the attractions unexplored, such as Betawi Village in Setu Babakan. A connector between Ragunan attractions & Perkampungan Betawi in Setu Babakan is needed by creating facilities with informal education and entertainment program that can help tourist to explore more about betawi culture with holiday experience. This design is studied by researching the behavior of Millennials, their behavior towards betawi culture and the characteristics of attractions that will be able to make Millennials come. The design strategy of this touris trap is explorative, interactive, and telling a story about a space experience that can catch Millennials’ attention which can be adapted to their behavior. Contoured site and green area along the site and street make this tourist trap integrated well with green area. Narrative architecture method is applied to make space rich with immersive experience in order to have their one story. Visitors can do fun activities by learning with interactive digital media in the form of cullinary gallery, self learning area, workshop, and escape room based on betawi culture history and the story of Betawi folkfore.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Osteoporosis is characterized by weakening of the bone, disruption of its architecture, and loss of skeletal strength, leading to increased risk of fragility fractures. According to the CDC, the prevalence of osteoporosis in 2017-2018 was 5.7% in males and 17.7% in adults aged 65 and older. Approximately 2 million osteoporosis fractures occur annually in the USA. The annual direct cost is estimated to be $25.3 billion by 2025. Implementing effective strategies to help with early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up is fundamental. Our study aims to identify barriers that render the geriatric population with osteoporosis from receiving optimal medical care. Methods We retrospectively reviewed a sample of 119 patients of a GERIATRIC PACT Veteran administration (VA) clinic between 1/1/2018 and 8/30/2021 to identify patients diagnosed with osteoporosis and monitor the adequacy of education, treatment, and follow-up. Possible treatment barriers and subsequent consequences were noted. Results were presented using descriptive statistics. Results The mean age of the cohort was 83±7 years old, 90% (N=107) of them being males, with a mean BMI and Hb A1c of 27± 6 kg/m2 and 6. 0± 2.1%, respectively. From the total, we obtained a sample of 17.8% (N=15, 12M/3F) patients who had a previous diagnosis of osteoporosis without concurrent medical management. Eight patients (53%) didn't have Osteoporosis management or discussion of the treatment with the clinician at their initial geriatric appointment, and 5 patients didn't discuss osteoporosis in subsequent visits either. Poor mental or physical status, limiting patient follow-up or treatment, was identified in 40%(N=6) of the patients. Adverse reactions were seen in 6.6% (N=1). 20% of the patient were on drug holiday (N=3), and 20% (N=3) refused any osteoporosis treatment. 26.6%(N=4) of the patients had developed fragility fractures. From this subgroup, one patient refused the treatment, and 3 had no osteoporosis treatment discussion at their initial visit. Discussion Our results showed that a significant number of patients with osteoporosis had no screening or evaluation. Osteoporotic fractures were presented within a few months in 20% of them. No identifiable cost barriers or contraindications to osteoporosis treatment were noticed. Multiple factors could have contributed to these events. Lack of universal clinical reminder for osteoporosis screening per national VA guidelines fails to identify men at increased risk for osteoporosis and it does not address the lack of follow-up reminders on this topic. Public misinformation regarding osteoporosis treatment is another barrier that needs to be addressed with education. Plans to identify patients with no concurrent treatment are necessary. Conclusions In geriatric veterans, implementing tools to follow-up on patients with osteoporosis and identifying treatment barriers is an essential step for high-quality, integrated, and comprehensive patient care. Such tools need to be validated with future studies to ensure effectiveness. Presentation: Saturday, June 11, 2022 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 1:24 p.m. - 1:29 p.m.

Abstract:
Mehedinţi County impresses with the specificity of its traditions, with its heritage that speaks of a time of peace and order, through a horizon full of special symbolism. The study is organized on two coordinates with the intention of briefly presenting the issues addressed. , On the one hand, the elements of ethnography of traditional housing will be analyzed, on the other hand, it is intended to present some aspects of authentic Romanian spirituality manifested in the area of Mehedinţi, that of the local ‘nedei’. Regarding the ethnographic aspects of the traditional house, an attempt will be made to create a typology of houses with vernacular architecture in Mehedinți County, as well as to mention their conservation and restoration actions in the conditions of contemporary research. Among the calendar customs specific to the area, the most spectacular are the ‘nedeile’, because they represent the meeting between an ancient pre-Christian substratum with certain holidays and / or church feasts, i. e. with the Christian religion. The distinction between fairs and ‘nedeile’ will be discussed extensively, bringing arguments selected from specialized bibliography. At the same time, the important role of the ‘Iron Gates’ Museum from Drobeta Turnu Severin will be mentioned in the conservation and patrimonialization of the material and immaterial culture specific to the Mehedinți ethnographic region.

Abstract:
Background – The problem of waste is one of big problems arise from various sectors. Recycling and reusing can be one good solution. Balinese people who still carry out traditions including the event with various arts, one of which is a beautiful offering. This beautiful offering is in the form of sampyan from art coconut leaves which ends as waste. In the past, when Balinese were going to cook, they could use fuel from this dry coconut leaves waste. On The Holidays for ceremonies, there is a 30% increase in waste. Even though this is a ceremonial waste, a balance in the relationship with God/Hyang Widi must be maintained in accordance with the Balinese concept of Tri Hita Karana. This concept is in the form of a balanced relationship towards Hyang Widi/God, to the fellow humans and to the environment that causes happiness. Therefore, waste must be processed. Husks and straw waste from rise field in Bali amounted to 54.65 million tons of GKG, then alot of sawdust waste from wood carving and wood architecture industries. This waste is often burned even though some are used for planting media and fuel. On the other hand, the tourism community and people in Bali produce 829 tons of plastic waste per day. Currently, appreciation of buildings with “Green Architecture” is a concern for tourism and will become of destinations. Thus, it will very possible in Bali. Purpose – provide economic value added for the community, wood workers and farmers and make the world a better place. Findings –Artistic acoustic panel recycled material from plastic bottles and waste of sampyan, sawdust, husks, straw. Originality/value – Acoustic Panel Material and Artistic Acoustic Panels with Balinese Architectural Ornaments is an original. Design/methodology/approach – Recycled plastic waste with the right mixture composition is heated and printed with a hot press machine. In this study, the Transmission Loss test was carried out using an Impedance Tube. Research limitations – Measurement of transmission loss on sheet panels has limitations. Measurements should be developed into room research.

Abstract:
Finland lived, in the 1920s and 1930s, through an ephemeral time of peace and enthusiastic ideas in which it began to forge itself as a modern nation. Its borders still unstable, the country used its landscape as a social unifier and an element of national identity. Finland’s incipient welfare state, institutionalised holidays and the democratised consumer goods encouraged a new leisure lifestyle in natural settings. This article studies the recreational housing programme that responded to that demand. The new typology, later called mökki in Finland, was developed during the rise of Nordic functionalism (funkkis in Finnish) – the revision of the romantic villa and the traditional rural housing model, together with the emergence of prefabrication techniques. Among the architectural competitions and drawing albums published on the subject, this article studies the competition run by the Enso-Gutzeit paper company in 1932. Other studies have analysed this competition from constructive, stylistic or historical perspectives. This paper provides a different view by explaining that the competition was a testing ground where one of modern Finnish architecture’s distinctive features was forged: tuning into a constructed idea of nature. This fact is revealed through a graphical analysis of the competition’s proposals, as well as through the incipient personal traits in the work of the promising, young Finnish architects who participated in the competition.
