Abstract:
This article tests the efficiency of the hog options market and assesses the impact of the 1996 contract redesign on efficiency. We find that the hog options market is efficient, but some options yielded excess returns during the live hogs period but not during the lean hogs period. Our findings indicate that the hog options market is efficient and is consistent with the new contract improving the efficiency of the market. However, other market conditions such as lower transaction costs during the lean hogs period can also contribute to reduce expected option returns during the latter period.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The yeast high-osmolarity glycerol (HOG) mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway has been characterized as being activated solely by osmotic stress. In this work, we show that the Hog1 MAPK is also activated by heat stress and that Sho1, previously identified as a membrane-bound osmosensor, is required for heat stress activation of Hog1. The two-component signaling protein, Sln1, the second osmosensor in the HOG pathway, was not involved in heat stress activation of Hog1, suggesting that the Sho1 and Sln1 sensors discriminate between stresses. The possible function of Hog1 activation during heat stress was examined, and it was found that the hog1Δ strain does not recover as rapidly from heat stress as well as the wild type. It was also found that protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) Ptp2 and Ptp3, which inactivate Hog1, have two functions during heat stress. First, they are essential for survival at elevated temperatures, preventing lethality due to Hog1 hyperactivation. Second, they block inappropriate cross talk between the HOG and the cell wall integrity MAPK pathways, suggesting that PTPs are important for maintaining specificity in MAPK signaling pathways.

ABSTRACT When confronted with a marked increase in external osmolarity, budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) cells utilize a conserved mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascade (the high-osmolarity glycerol or HOG pathway) to elicit cellular responses necessary to permit continued growth. One input that stimulates the HOG pathway requires the integral membrane protein and putative osmosensor Sho1, which recruits and enables activation of the MAPK kinase kinase Ste11. In mutants that lack the downstream MAPK kinase (pbs2Δ) or the MAPK (hog1Δ) of the HOG pathway, Ste11 activated by hyperosmotic stress is able to inappropriately stimulate the pheromone response pathway. This loss of signaling specificity is known as cross talk. To determine whether it is the Hog1 polypeptide per se or its kinase activity that is necessary to prevent cross talk, we constructed a fully functional analog-sensitive allele of HOG1 to permit acute inhibition of this enzyme without other detectable perturbations of the cell. We found that the catalytic activity of Hog1 is required continuously to prevent cross talk between the HOG pathway and both the pheromone response and invasive growth pathways. Moreover, contrary to previous reports, we found that the kinase activity of Hog1 is necessary for its stress-induced nuclear import. Finally, our results demonstrate a role for active Hog1 in maintaining signaling specificity under conditions of persistently high external osmolarity.

Abstract:
The Saccharomyces cerevisiae high osmolarity glycerol (HOG) mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway is required for osmoadaptation and contains two branches that activate a mitogen-activated protein kinase (Hog1) via a mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (Pbs2). We have characterized the roles of common pathway components (Hog1 and Pbs2) and components in the two upstream branches (Ste11, Sho1, and Ssk1) in response to elevated osmolarity by using whole-genome expression profiling. Several new features of the HOG pathway were revealed. First, Hog1 functions during gene induction and repression, cross talk inhibition, and in governing the regulatory period. Second, the phenotypes of pbs2 and hog1 mutants are identical, indicating that the sole role of Pbs2 is to activate Hog1. Third, the existence of genes whose induction is dependent on Hog1 and Pbs2 but not on Ste11 and Ssk1 suggests that there are additional inputs into Pbs2 under our inducing conditions. Fourth, the two upstream pathway branches are not redundant: the Sln1-Ssk1 branch has a much more prominent role than the Sho1-Ste11 branch for activation of Pbs2 by modest osmolarity. Finally, the general stress response pathway and both branches of the HOG pathway all function at high osmolarity. These studies demonstrate that cells respond to increased osmolarity by using different signal transduction machinery under different conditions.

Abstract:
The purpose of the work reported within this thesis was to design and implement a series of tests which better replicate the impact conditions experienced during a game, and allow for quantitative measurements of performance of various items of personal protection equipment (PPE). The sports of cricket and taekwondo were used as case studies. The aim was to improve on existing testing protocols making them more representative of real life, an approach that has not been previously attempted in the literature and so required design of multiple items of novel equipment. A representative cricket impact test was developed utilizing a ball canon firing a cricket ball mass at an equivalent bowling velocity of 31 m/s (70 mph) and a novel, freely suspended force acquisition system with embedded accelerometers from which the transmitted force values could be derived. Throughout the testing secondary variables of coefficient of restitution (COR), deformation and contact time were measured from high speed video footage to give further insight into the impact mechanics of the three tested leg guards. Contact times were in the range of 3 ms - 4 ms, COR between 0.38 - 0.50 and deformation between 45 mm - 52 mm. These results were compared against other benchmark tests to establish how close the representative test was to an actual human related ball-pad impact and to estimate human tolerance levels to impact. A rig to mimic a human on human kicking impact in taekwondo was designed to measure performance of the piece of body protection equipment used in training and competition, commonly referred to as a hogu. Primarily a mechanical simulator was designed to replicate the speed and mass of a human leg impacting during a roundhouse kick. A force acquisition system was manufactured, capable of integrating with the kicking robot functioning, with a human torso sized and shaped anvil, using a similar accelerometer based system of force measurement as that introduced in the cricket testing. This test was then used to measure performance levels of nine off-the-shelf hogus and protective training pads. Using transmitted peak force and time to peak force (TTPF) as indicators of protection, these values were found to range from between 0.5 kN 7.5 kN and 9 ms - 23 ms across the pads indicating a major difference in the protection provided.

Abstract:
In het Medisch Spectrum Twente te Enschede is op de afdeling klinische neurofysiologie nieuwe EEG- apparatuur aangeschaft. Met EEG-apparatuur kan het elektro-encefalogram opgenomen worden. Dit is een weergave van de extracraniële potentialen als gevolg van de activiteit van neuronen in de hersenen. Deze worden gemeten met elektroden die op de hoofdhuid worden geplaatst. Conventionele EEG-apparatuur maakt gebruik van 20 à 30 elektroden en de signalen op deze elektroden worden gesampled met ongeveer 250 Hz. De nieuw aangeschafte apparatuur heeft een aanzienlijk grotere spatiële en temporele resolutie, nl. 64 elektroden op hetzelfde hoofdoppervlak en een maximale samplefrequentie van 5000 Hz. De EEG-registratie met dergelijke apparatuur wordt dan ook High Definition Encephalography (HDE) genoemd. Met HDE zijn een aantal toepassingen mogelijk die niet met conventionele EEG-apparatuur mogelijk zijn. De belangrijkste hiervan is de bronlokalisatie. Bij bronlokalisatie wordt door een inverse methode de meest waarschijnlijke oorsprong van de potentialen op de hoofdhuid berekend. Het bepalen van de positie van de bron van elektrische activiteit heeft klinische importantie, omdat dit een hulpmiddel kan zijn bij bijvoorbeeld operaties om epileptische foci te verwijderen in gevallen waar medicijnen geen effect hebben. Voor bronlokalisatie zijn een aantal technieken ontwikkeld, waaronder deblurring/deconvolutie en de dipole fit. Deze laatste kan gebruikt worden als piekgolven in het EEG aanwezig zijn. Piekgolven zijn ongewoon scherpe pieken met een duur kleiner dan ongeveer 70 ms en een amplitude tot 300 µV die gevolgd worden door een veel langer durend golfverschijnsel. Als piekgolven in het EEG aanwezig zijn duidt dit op hyperactiviteit in een zeer beperkt gebied in de hersenen. Dit gebied kan gemodelleerd worden met een dipool. Het dipoolmodel gaat uit van een ladingsscheiding in een punt welke fungeert als bron voor elektrische activiteit. Er wordt onderscheidt gemaakt tussen een fixed dipole, een rotating dipole en een moving dipole. In deze volgorde hebben deze modellen steeds meer vrijheidsgraden. Een dipool wordt gedefinieerd door een positie, een oriëntatie en een sterkte. Bij het moving dipole model kunnen deze parameters alle in de tijd veranderen. Omdat de data opgenomen met de HDE-apparatuur, respectievelijk de bewerkingen hiermee erg veel opslag- en rekencapaciteit kosten als met de maximale samplefrequentie geregistreerd wordt, is bij de beoogde gebruikers van de apparatuur de vraag gerezen of het wel noodzakelijk is met een dergelijk hoge frequentie te registreren. Om deze vraag te beantwoorden is een onderzoek opgezet met het doel te bepalen wat de invloed is van samplefrequentieverlaging bij HDE-registratie op de parameters van bronnen gelokaliseerd met het dipoolmodel. Hiertoe is een HDE-registratie bij een proefpersoon uitgevoerd, bij wie een aanzienlijk aantal piekgolven in het HDE voorkwam. Dit HDE is gedownsampled met een playbackfunctie naar 2500 Hz, 1250 Hz, 625 Hz, 312 Hz, 156 Hz en 78 Hz. Het resultaat hiervan zijn een aantal overeenkomende EEG’s welke in enige mate van elkaar verschillen, omdat ze (virtueel) met verschillende samplefrequenties zijn opgenomen. Uit de originele HDE data zijn een aantal piekgolven gezocht, welke voor elke bovenstaande frequentie en voor de originele HDE data voor analyse zijn weggeschreven. Vervolgens zijn op deze pieken bronlokalisaties uitgevoerd volgens het moving dipole model. De resulterende dipoolparameters zijn ter evaluatie in een spreadsheet gezet. De conclusies die uit de verwerking van de dipooldata volgen kunnen als volgt worden samengevat: • Tot een samplefrequentie van 625 Hz vertonen de dipoolposities ten hoogste een gemiddelde afwijking van 1.68 mm met standaardeviatie 1.30 mm. Bij verdere verlaging van de samplefrequentie naar 312 is het positieverschil met de 5000 Hz dipool gemiddeld 2.23 mm met standaarddeviatie 1.04 mm. Als dan de frequentie nog verlaagd wordt gaan de verschillen een logaritmische trend volgen, met bij 78 Hz een verschil van 7.62 mm met standaardeviatie 2.05 mm. Hieraan zijn een aantal voorbehouden verbonden, welke bij annihilatie aanvullend onderzoek nog kunnen leiden tot kleinere verschillen (en in principe niet tot grotere verschillen): • Het headmodel, welke de geleidingseigenschappen van het hoofd modelleren, dat gebruikt is voor de bronlokalisatie was verre van ideaal. Het ideale headmodel is een realistic headmodel welke gegenereerd kan worden uit een MRI-scan. Het gebruikte headmodel is een sferisch drie schillen model. • Uit het onderzoek is gebleken dat afwijkingen in de elektrodeposities grote invloed kunnen hebben op de bronparameters. Of (en zo ja, hoeveel) de opgenomen elektrodeposities afwijken van de werkelijkheid is niet te achterhalen. • Mogelijk heeft de gebruikte playbackfunctie die gebruikt is voor downsampling invloed op de resulterende bronparameters. Om een sterke conclusie over de invloed van de samplefrequentie op de bronparameters te verkrijgen moet het onderzoek herhaald worden met een aantal aanpassingen: • Er moet een nieuwe geschikte proefpersoon gevonden worden. Bij deze proefpersoon moet een MRI-scan van het hoofd gemaakt worden, waarbij de slicedikte gelijk is aan de resolutie in de scanrichting. Op deze manier is de resolutie van de driedimensionale reconstructie in alle drie reguliere scanrichtingen gelijk. Een resolutie van 1 mm is naar de mening van schrijver dezes voldoende. Ook moet er voor gewaakt worden dat geen slices worden weggelaten die voor andere doeleinden geen klinische importantie hebben: het hele hoofd moet gescand worden. • Bij de HDE-registratie moeten de elektrodeposities zorgvuldig door meerdere personen meerdere malen opgenomen worden. Het middelen van de elektrodeposities geeft een betrouwbaar resultaat, waarbij zeker is dat de persoon die de elektrodeposities registreert geen invloed heeft op de resulterende elektrodeposities. • Er moeten meerdere EEG-registratie plaatsvinden bij verschillende frequenties. Als dit gecombineerd wordt met downsampling via playback is gegarandeerd dat de reproducability acceptabel is, alsmede dat gevolgen die mogelijk geïntroduceerd worden door downsampling via playback opgemerkt worden. • Voordat het onderzoek herhaald wordt, moet onderzoek plaatsvinden naar de EEG-vorm. Uit dit onderzoek moet blijken of er piekvormen bestaan die de piek op alle kanalen op dezelfde latentie vertonen. Als dit het geval is en er wordt een proefpersoon met deze piekvorm gevonden kan met lokalisatie op de pieklatentie volstaan worden.

Abstract:
This thesis is a long-term evaluation of the profit margin hedging strategy suggested by Kenyon and Clay. To implement this strategy an expected profit margin is estimated based on the amount of pork, corn price, and soybean meal price. The profit margin that can be 'locked in' by the futures market is calculated from the futures prices of live hogs, corn and soybean meal with an allowance for other cost. The hedging rule is to hedge hogs, corn and soybean meal when a profit margin of fifty percent above the expected profit margin can be 'locked-in' with the futures. In their original paper, using data from 1975-82, Kenyon and Clay found this method of hedging stabilized cash flow while increasing the overall profit level. Using out-of-sample data from 1983-98, the current research finds no difference in profits from hedging versus not hedging. The most obvious reason for the lack of success is the inability to predict the expected profit margin with the simple supply model used by Kenyon and Clay. Addition of demand shifting variables to the model failed to significantly improve the prediction of expected profit margin or the hedging results. The hedging strategy was also affected by a significant decrease in the variance in the futures market that lead to a decrease in hedging opportunities. With the failure of the Kenyon and Clay hedging strategy with out-of-sample data, this research empirically demonstrates the need for out-of-sample testing of selective hedging strategies.

Abstract:
Wheat grain is sold based upon several physiochemical characteristics, one of the most important being grain texture. Grain texture in wheat directly affects many end use qualities such as milling yield, break flour yield, and starch damage. The Hardness (Ha) locus located on the short arm of chromosome 5D is known to control grain hardness in wheat. This locus contains the puroindoline a (pina) and puroindoline b (pinb) genes. All wheats to date that have mutations in pina or pinb are hard textured, while wheats possessing both the 'soft type' pina-D1a and pinb-D1a sequences are soft. Furthermore, it has been shown that complementation of the pinb-D1b mutation in hard spring wheat can restore a soft phenotype. Here, the first objective was to identify and characterize the effect the puroindolines have on grain texture independently and together. The second objective was to determine which milling bread baking characteristics are affected by the seed specific over-expression of puroindolines. To accomplish both of these objectives a hard red spring wheat, possessing the pinb-D1b mutation, was transformed with 'soft type' pina and pinb, creating transgenic isolines that have added pina, pinb, or pina and pinb. Northern blot analysis of developing control and transgenic lines indicated that grain hardness differences were correlated with the timing of the expression of the native and transgenically added puroindolines. The addition of PINA decreased grain hardness less than the reduction seen with added PINB. Friabilin abundance was correlated with the presence of both 'soft type' PINA and PINB and did not correlate well with total puroindoline abundance. Selected T3 lines were grown in a field trial with two replications under dry and irrigated field conditions. Harvested grain was then milled and baked. Lines transformed with the puroindolines exhibited decreased total flour yields and increased break flour yields, yielding flour with lower protein and ash content. Decreases in loaf volume, mixograph absorption, and crumb grain scores were also observed in transgenic lines. These results demonstrate that the puroindolines can be used to profoundly influence grain hardness and a variety of milling and bread baking traits in wheat.

Abstract:
Lacking the natural amenities “New West" counties, some rural communities have attempted to attract land use activities that are normally seen as undesirable. One example of these undesirable industries is the hog concentrated animal feeding operation, or CAFO. While a number of studies have explored the socio-economic and environmental aspects of hog farms, few studies have focused on the planning process and evaluated its effectiveness in dealing with the threats and challenges that a CAFO poses. This qualitative study used interviews, observations, public meeting minutes, and other written sources of data to evaluate whether or not a rural, western community, Beaver County, Utah, was able to successfully plan for one of the largest hog operations in the United States. The evidence suggested that the majority of planning efforts failed in the short-term, but were more successful in the long-term. Despite any relative success, the proposal generated intense controversy in the small community. Crucial to any planning achievement was the input and guidance provided by the state environmental agency. This research highlights the need for long-range planning as well as the importance of public participation in the planning process.

Abstract:
Face recognition and video summarization represent challenging tasks for several computer vision applications including video surveillance, criminal investigations, and sports applications. For long videos, it is difficult to search within a video for a specific action and/or person. Usually, human action recognition approaches presented in the literature deal with videos that contain only a single person, and they are able to recognize his action. This paper proposes an effective approach to multiple human action detection, recognition, and summarization. The multiple action detection extracts human bodies’ silhouette then generates a specific sequence for each one of them using motion detection and tracking method. Each of the extracted sequences is then divided into shots that represent homogeneous actions in the sequence using the similarity between each pair frames. Using the histogram of the oriented gradient (HOG) of the temporal difference map (TDMap) of the frames of each shot, we recognize the action by performing a comparison between the generated HOG and the existed HOGs in the training phase which represents all the HOGs of many actions using a set of videos for training.

A duális képzés célja, hogy a hallgatók kompetenciái minősített partnervállalatok segítségével kerüljön fejlesztésre. A cél elérése érdekében fontos tudni, hogy hogyan ítéli meg a munkaerőpiac a hallgatók kompetenciáit, illetve ahhoz, hogy a képzés versenyképes maradjon fontos, megismerni, hogy milyen jövőbeli elvárásokkal kell szembenéznie a duális képzésben résztvevőknek, milyen kompetenciákra lesz szükség az elkövetkezendő években. A kérdések megválaszolására készült felmérés célja a duális képzésben résztvevőkkel szemben támasztott munkaerő-piaci igények prognosztizálása. A felmérés alapján láthatóvá válik, hogy melyek azok a kompe-tenciák, amik fejlesztésében a vállalatok nagyobb szerepet tudnak vállalni, illetve melyek azok, amelyek fejlesztésében a partnerek nem tudnak segíteni, azonban mindenképpen szükség van rá, így ebben az esetben a fejlesztés feladata az oktatási intézményre hárul.

Abstract:
Személyi edzőként a felnőttekkel való foglalkozásom során fogalmazódott meg bennem a kérdés, hogyan tudnám már az általános iskolás gyerekeket megtanítani arra, hogy egészség- és testtudatos felnőtté váljanak. Úgy gondolom, hogy mobilapplikációval kiegészítve az egészségre nevelés folyamatát könnyebben átadhatók és gyakorlatba ültethetők az információk a 6-14 éves gyerekek számára. Tekintettel az online oktatás során szerzett tapasztalatokra és néhány korábbi kutatási eredményre (Révész, 2019) a digitális eszközök bevonása a testnevelés órák esetén is növeli a tanítás-tanulás hatékonyságát. IKT eszközök segítségével hatékonyan tanítható, milyen gyakorlatokat hogyan végezzenek (Varga, 2018.) és – ami a jelen megoldások hiányossága –, hogy azokat miért tegyék pl. zsírégetés, ízületi mozgékonyság, testoptimalizáció, izomtónus fokozás, izomtónus egyensúly. Emellett mozgástevékenységük mérhetővé is válik az eszközök által, pl. pulzus, ami a differenciált oktatás megvalósításában is jelentős szerepet játszhat (Nagy et al, 2016.). Mobilapplikációkban egyénre szabott edzésterveket kaphatnának, amelyekben visszatekinthetővé válna mozgástevékenységük és játékos motivációt is kapnának úgy, hogy például egészséges ételeket gyűjtenek bizonyos gyakorlatok elvégzésével. Kutatásom célja bizonyítani, hogy lehetséges IKT eszközökkel segítve megtanítani az általános iskolában az egészségtudatos, testtudatos felnőtté válást úgy, hogy elméleti háttértudást és gyakorlati feladatokat is biztosítok digitális applikációkon keresztül. Kutatásom egyik kiinduló hipotézise, hogy a köznevelési tananyagban nincs elegendő tudásanyag ahhoz, hogy a gyerekek képesek legyenek annak alapján egészséges életmódot folytatni a mindennapokban és mozgással fenntartani egészségüket, karban tartani testüket adottságaikhoz illeszkedő módon. Jelen elődásomban feltérképezem a közoktatási tananyagokban elérhető kapcsolódó témaköröket, a Nemzeti Köznevelési Portálon elérhető online tananyagok tartalmának elemzésével, beazonosítva a hiányzó szakmai tartalmi területeket.

Jelen tanulmány egy 2018-as kérdőíves felmérés eredményeire alapozva arra keresi a választ, hogy a hazai vállalkozások hogyan viszonyulnak a társadalmi problémákhoz, illetőleg azok megoldásához. Az eredmények alapján a vezetők fele úgy gondolja, hogy a vállalatoknak csak azokkal a társadalmi problémákkal kell foglalkozniuk, amelyeket ők maguk idéztek elő. A válaszadó vezetők háromnegyede szerint a társadalmi innováció elsősorban az állam és az önkormányzatok feladata, hasonló arányban vannak azok, akik szerint a nonprofit szféra és a társadalmi vállalkozások feladata, és csak a vezetők fele véli úgy, hogy elsősorban a vállalati, üzleti szféra feladata. A válaszadók döntő többsége ugyanakkor egyetért azzal, hogy a társadalmi innováció sikere érdekében szükség van az egyes szereplők, úgy mint az állami, vállalati, üzleti, nonprofit és civil szféra összefogására.

A munkáltatói márka (employer brand) viszonylag új keletű kifejezés Magyarországon, célja elsősorban az új munkaerő megszerzése és a jelenlegi munkatársak megtartása. Szinte közhelyes megállapításnak tűnik már, hogy az utóbbi években Magyarországon a legtöbb szervezet munkaerőhiánnyal küzd, ezért újabb és átgondoltabb akciókra van szükség a tehetségek megtartásához. Kérdőíves kutatásunk során megvizsgáltuk, hogy a Csongrád megyei fiatalok hogyan vélekednek a megyében található foglalkoztatókról. Mitől vonzó egy munkáltató? Milyen tényezők játszanak szerepet az elhelyezkedésükben? Ha elköltöznének a megyéből, azt miért tennék? Azt találtuk, hogy a Csongrád megyei fiatalok számára a legfontosabb tényezők egy munkahely kiválasztásakor a fizetés és juttatás, a munka-magánélet egyensúlya és a kellemes munkakörnyezet.

2019-ben, amikor egy átlagos vásárló ellátogat egy szupermarketbe, nem az az első gondolata, hogy vajon a kezében tartott csoki vagy joghurt hogyan, milyen technológiával, milyen körülmények között lett előállítva, mert az esetleges fizikai szükséglete felülír minden további filozofálást a megvásárolni kívánt termékről. Ezzel szemben, ha megvásároljuk a különböző gyógyszeripari termékeket, melyeket már különféle bevonatokkal látnak el, hamarabb eszünkbe jut az, vajon hogyan készült? Tanulmányunkban egy hazai vállat gyártási folyamatába nyerhetünk bepillantást, ahol megvizsgáljuk azt, hogy milyen minőségbiztosítási tanúsítványok vannak érvényben, hogyan történik a gyártás és mi az alapja (push vagy pull). Kutatásunk rávilágít arra, hogy az évek során milyen technológiai újítások történtek a vállalatnál, valamint melyek azok, amiket még alkalmazni terveznek. Megvizsgáljuk, hogyan kerüli el a vállalat a gyártás előtt, alatt és után keletkező veszteségeket, illetve a keletkezett selejtet hogyan kezeli.

A nemzetközi szakirodalom azt mutatja, hogy a tanárok szerepe rövid idő alatt drámai változáson ment keresztül, beleértve a digitális kompetenciák egyre növekvő jelentőségét. Ez igaz az információs műveltségre is, bár úgy tűnik, hogy a követelményeket erőteljesebben befolyásolja a digitális kompetenciák előtérbe kerülése, ami az információs műveltség fogalmával kapcsolatosan tapasztalható zavart is megmagyarázhatja. Több empirikus kutatás az mutatja, hogy számos középiskolai tanár nem ismeri ezt a kifejezést, és következetlenek a meghatározásában is, sőt van, aki tanítja az információk keresését, szűrését és értékelését, de az információs műveltség megemlítése nélkül teszi ezt. A fentieket figyelembe véve, kutatásunkkal arra kívántuk felhívni a figyelmet, hogy az információs műveltségnek van létjogosultsága az iskolapedagógiai gyakorlatban, ugyanakkor sok problémát kell még ezen a területen megoldani. Kutatásunk közvetlen célja az volt, hogy felmérjük az információs műveltség fejlesztésének gyakorlatát Magyarországon, Lengyelországban és Litániában, összehasonlítva az ezekben az országokban dolgozó középiskolai (9-12. évfolyamon tanító) tanárok ez irányú ismereteit és attitűdjét. A feltett kérdésekre kapott válaszok azt mutatják, hogy a vizsgálatba bevont pedagógusok többsége túlbecsüli az információs műveltséggel kapcsolatos készségeit és tudását. Többnyire rövid projektek során valósítottak meg az információs műveltséggel kapcsolatos programokat, amelyek azonban nem voltak alkalmasak arra, hogy akár csak magukat a tanárokat is szakszerűen felkészítsék a kommunikáció- és médiatudomány, illetve az információk felhasználásának, kezelésének, valamint azok tanításának elméletére és gyakorlatára. ----- Information literacy attitudes of secondary school teachers in the light of the results of an international questionnaire ----- The literature shows that the role of teachers has changed dramatically in a short period of time, including the growing importance of digital competencies. This is also true for information literacy, although requirements appear to be more strongly influenced by the rise of digital competencies, which may also explain the confusion surrounding the concept of information literacy. Several empirical studies show that many teachers, working in secondary education are unfamiliar with this term and use its definition inconsistently. Some of them teach how to search for, filter, and evaluate information, but do so without mentioning information literacy. In view of the above, our research aimed to draw attention to the fact that information literacy has a raison d'être in school pedagogical practice, but many problems still need to be solved in this area. The direct aim of our research was to assess the practice of developing information literacy in Hungary, Poland and Lithuania by comparing the knowledge and attitudes of secondary school (teachers in grades 9-12) working in these countries. The answers to the questions asked show that the majority of teachers involved in the study overestimate their skills and knowledge in information literacy. Most of the time, information literacy programs were implemented as short projects, which, however, were not suitable to train even the teachers themselves in the theory and practice of communication and media science and the use, management and teaching of information.
