Abstract:
В книге [Jimyeong Lee, "First passage time densities through Hölder curves", ALEA Lat. Am. J. Probab. Math. Stat., 15:2 (2018), 837-849] доказано, что плотность момента первого пересечения границы одномерным стандартным броуновским движением будет непрерывной, когда граница непрерывна по Гeльдеру с показателем больше $1/2$. С целью распространить результат [Jimyeong Lee, "First passage time densities through Hölder curves", ALEA Lat. Am. J. Probab. Math. [Jimyeong Lee, "First passage time densities through Hölder curves", ALEA Lat. Am. J. Probab. Math. Stat., 15:2 (2018), 837-849], используя свойство локального времени стандартного $d$-мерного броуновского движения и уравнение теплопроводности с граничным условием Дирихле, мы находим достаточное условие существования непрерывной функции плотности.

Abstract:
Both the theory of functions of a complex variable, and the approximation theory, are finding more and more applications in modern engineering sciences. In the present report we consider the spaces of analytic functions inside the unit circle satisfying on the boundary a strong Hölder condition for a rather wide class of the modulus of continuity. An analog of Smirnov's classical theorem relating to Hardy spaces has been obtained. The result is generalized to spaces of functions that are inductive limits of the spaces stated above.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Members of the class Epsilonproteobacteria are known to be of major importance in biogeochemical processes at oxic-anoxic interfaces. In pelagic redoxclines of the central Baltic Sea, an uncultured epsilonproteobacterium related to Sulfurimonas denitrificans was proposed to play a key role in chemolithotrophic denitrification (I. Brettar, M. Labrenz, S. Flavier, J. Bötel, H. Kuosa, R. Christen, and M. G. Höfle, Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 72:1364-1372, 2006). In order to determine the abundance, activity, and vertical distribution of this bacterium in high-resolution profiles, 16S rRNA cloning and catalyzed reporter deposition and fluorescence in situ hybridization (CARD-FISH) and quantitative PCR measurements were carried out. The results showed that 21% of the derived clone sequences, which in the present study were grouped together under the name GD17, had >99% similarity to the uncultured epsilonproteobacterium. A specific gene probe against GD17 (S-*-Sul-0090-a-A-18) was developed and used for enumeration by CARD-FISH. In different pelagic redoxclines sampled during August 2003, May 2005, and February 2006, GD17 cells were always detected from the lower oxic area to the sulfidic area. Maximal abundance was detected around the chemocline, where sulfide and nitrate concentrations were close to the detection limit. The highest GD17 numbers (2 × 105 cells ml−1), representing up to 15% of the total bacteria, were comparable to those reported for Epsilonproteobacteria in pelagic redoxclines of the Black Sea and the Cariaco Trench (X. Lin, S. G. Wakeham, I. F. Putnam, Y. M. Astor, M. I. Scranton, A. Y. Chistoserdov, and G. T. Taylor, Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 72:2679-2690, 2006). However, in the Baltic Sea redoxclines, Epsilonproteobacteria consisted nearly entirely of cells belonging to the distinct GD17 group. This suggested that GD17 was the best-adapted epsilonproteobacterium within this ecological niche.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The pattern of peptidoglycan (murein) segregation in cells ofEscherichia coli with impaired activity of the morphogenetic proteins penicillin-binding protein 2 and RodA has been investigated by the d-cysteine–biotin immunolabeling technique (M. A. de Pedro, J. C. Quintela, J.-V. Höltje, and H. Schwarz, J. Bacteriol. 179:2823–2834, 1997). Inactivation of these proteins either by amdinocillin treatment or by mutations in the corresponding genes, pbpA androdA, respectively, leads to the generation of round, osmotically stable cells. In normal rod-shaped cells, new murein precursors are incorporated all over the lateral wall in a diffuse manner, being mixed up homogeneously with preexisting material, except during septation, when strictly localized murein synthesis occurs. In contrast, in rounded cells, incorporation of new precursors is apparently a zonal process, localized at positions at which division had previously taken place. Consequently, there is no mixing of new and old murein. Old murein is preserved for long periods of time in large, well-defined areas. We propose that the observed patterns are the result of a failure to switch off septal murein synthesis at the end of septation events. Furthermore, the segregation results confirm that round cells of rodA mutants do divide in alternate, perpendicular planes as previously proposed (K. J. Begg and W. D. Donachie, J. Bacteriol. 180:2564–2567, 1998).

Abstract:
Abstract Abstract 4693 Loss of Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes 1A Protein Expression is Associated with a Poor Prognosis in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Utz Krug, Claudia Hömme, Nicola Tidow, Horst Bürger, Gabriele Köhler, Achim Heinecke, Thomas Büchner, Wolfgang E. Berdel, Steffen Koschmieder, Carsten Müller-Tidow Introduction Acute myelogenous leukemia is a genetically heterogenous disease with many risk factors for a poor prognosis. One of the most important independent risk factor in AML is the age at diagnosis. Older patients with AML generally have a poor prognosis which suggests that the biology of AML in elderly patients differs from AML in younger patients. Methods Gene expression profiling was carried out to identify age related changes in AML blasts of 67 AML patients of different age (range: 17 to 80 years). Among the genes that correlated with age, SMC1A was selected for protein expression studies. A tissue array was created containing bone marrow histology samples of 135 patients with newly diagnosed AML of different ages and probed with an antibody against SMC1A and protein expression was quantified by the DAKO score. Results 131 genes showed a significant correlation between mRNA expression levels and patient age. Increasing age was associated with significantly decreased mRNA levels of SMC1A. 116 patient samples were evaluable for SMC1A protein expression and expression of SMC1A protein was low or absent in 74 out of 116 AML specimens. SMC1A protein expression did not show a correlation with patients' age at diagnosis. Both event free survival (2.6 months vs. 10.3 months, p=0.003, see figure) and overall survival (10.4 months vs. 22.6 months, p=0.015, see figure) were significantly worse in patients with low or absent SMC1A protein expression. In a multivariate analysis, SMC1A protein expression level remained a significant prognostic factor for event free survival (p=0.014) with a borderline significance for overall survival (p=0.066). Conclusions We identified 131 genes with putative age-dependent microarray mRNA expression and identified low levels of SMC1A protein expression as a marker for poor prognosis in patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia.
