Abstract:
This article deals with the experience of translating historical novels in translation studies. It provides a comparative analysis of the specific methods of the Uzbek national school of translation studies and the world schools of translation. Moreover, the genesis of translation of Uzbek historical novels, methods of translation, especially the problem of technique in the translation into English, and certain peculiarities of translating historical works are studied here on a scientific basis. As a result, a number of scientific and practical recommendations are given to improve the mechanisms of forming professional competence in the practice of translating historical novels, with the experimental trends of world translation schools taken into account.

Abstract:
Abstract Our objective in this article is to discuss the contributions of archival ethnography as a method of historical research in management. We indicate that, while historical research is already relevant in the management research area, there is still a dilemma regarding the possibility of how to access the past and conduct research of this nature. In this context, ethnography associated with historical archives emerges as a legitimate source, loaded with voices and silences to be unveiled in the processes of reflection on time in the context of organizations. Thus, we discuss the characteristics and possibilities of the method of an archival ethnography, considering its multi-situated character in the proposed research strategy. Thus, we hope to foster the discussion about ethnographic immersion in historical archives and how this method can contribute to the several research areas in management and more specifically in Organization Studies.

Abstract:
Summary The present study analyses recent criticisms against the use of modern-historical methodologies in Biblical Studies. These methodologies abstract from the historical horizon of the researcher. In order to relate properly to the historicality of the researcher, historical objectivism needs to be transformed into historical hermeneutics. Recent developments in the historical methodology of biblical scholars are unable to reckon with the historicality of the researcher due to the partial or incorrect implementation of Gadamer’s views on reception history. I analyse the views of Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and Gadamer on historicality and contend that the study of reception history is a necessary condition for conducting historical study from within the limits of our historicality. Reception history should not be a distinct methodological step to study the “Nachleben” of biblical texts, but needs to clarify how the understanding of these texts is already effected by their history of interpretation. The awareness of the presuppositions that have guided previous interpretations of biblical texts enables us to be confronted by their alterity. This confrontation calls for a synthesis between reception-historical and historical-critical methodology that introduces a new paradigm for conducting historical study in Biblical Studies in dialogue with other theological disciplines.

Abstract:
This essay first explores how the defining features of comparative-historical analysis (CHA) endow this approach with comparative advantages for substantive research on macro development. It identifies three major traits of CHA that make this tradition an especially powerful approach for the study of development: cased-based research; a focus on context and configurations; and a concern with mechanisms and temporal flow. It then considers what concretely we have learned about the sources of macro development from CHA studies. While some findings are tentative or open to debate, the list of empirical contributions from CHA is quite substantial. Finally, the essay considers some of the frontiers of CHA work on development. Included at this frontier is work on the concept of development itself, displacing the centrality of property institutions with a focus on identity institutions, and moving the focus of analysis from the national level to subnational and supranational levels.
