Tam, Wai-Chun. "Histoire de l'opéra cantonais." Paris 7, 1992. http://www.theses.fr/1991PA070122.
Full textCantonese opera is one of the most important of chinese main opera types. It uses the cantonese language and is spread throughout Guandong, Guangxi and a among overseas cantonese - speaking chinese in South - Asia and north and North America. Opera performances in the canton area can be traced to as early as the fourteenth century. Since the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, although opera flourished, the language used was still manderin, it is impossible to speak of it as "cantonese opera". At the beginning of this century "idealistic opera troupes" (called zhish) launched a reform mouvement in canton, Hong-Kong and Macao, singing and speaking in the cantonese language on original revolutionary themes. Their reform gained local troupes who helped spread the use of cantonese in opera. In the 20's the troupes form canton and HongKong were influenced by western drama, stage production and cinema, giving birth to modern cantonese opera which reached its peak in the 20' and 30's and began its decline as early as the 40's. This thesis also discusses cantonese opera in rural communities and its present conditions
Xu, Yan. "Histoire des méthodologies de l'enseignement du français en Chine (1850-2010)." Thesis, Nice, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014NICE2056/document.
Full textFor this study, we propose to study the concept of “Chinese methodology” demanded by Chinese actors working in the teaching of foreign languages in general and the French in particular. For years, the term is made and repeated, without any serious research is conducted on its legitimacy and its definition. For the elucidation of this blurred vision, we strive to adopt an approach that is both historical and didactic by digging methodologies that have been adopted in the teaching of French in China since its origin, that is to say, the year 1850 to today. By this time rebuilding effort, we seek to reveal whether a “Chinese methodology” was well formed on the ground at some point in history, and if necessary, to clarify its meaning. During the research, we were able to identify valuable ideas and teaching practices that are born of the land by translating them into countless precious historical documents. And by this “pass meta”, we try, even if it is for a small part, to fill the empty damaging to the conceptualization of local experiences suffered by the discipline of the ELF in China, and than to empty, to make some personal reflections on the question of the identity of any particular method of teaching foreign languages in a globalized world
Charleux, Isabelle. "Histoire et architecture des temples et monastères lamaïques de Mongolie méridionale." Paris 4, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998PA040274.
Full textInner Mongolia (now a province of the PRC) had more than a thousand lamaist temples and monasteries at the beginning of the 20th century. This very valuable and little studied collection of buildings is a major heritage of the Mongol culture and the Buddhist art and deserves study on both accounts. Although derived from the Chinese and Tibetan architectural traditions, Mongolian religious architecture exhibits a great many original characteristics. The first part of the dissertation studies the historical process of the building of the monasteries, from the “mongol renaissance” of the mid-16th century, around Altan Qan and his capital Köke Qota, to this century. The second part describes the physical aspect of the monasteries, as they could be studied during fieldwork completed between 1993 and 1998, supplemented with various published material (Chinese local history and gazetteers, Japanese observations of the Manchukuo period and travelogues). The third part builds on the description and the history to give an analysis of the major characteristics of Mongolian religious architecture, and finally determines its major types as well as their historical significance. Field material (maps, photographs. . . ) are provided in the appendix

Full textChina remained the sole purveyor of tea in the world until the 1850's. Based on the living art in china. Tea created a culture in europe. Especially in great britain. The frenzy for tea led the british to push their demands for the opening of the chinese frontiers. They finally created a market for their products in exchange for tea or silk. This resulted in the opening of the country brought about by the opium war, which profoundly influenced the entire traditional economy and society of tea. The chinese had large exports. And its peasants and merchants benefited from these efforts. They finally reached their limits. However, when new producers began to appear on the scene. This resulted in the decline of trade and constituted an important element in the crisis that emerged in the 20th century. This thesis is a study of all these events throughout this period
Ged, Françoise. "Shanghai : habitat et structure urbaine, 1842-1995." Paris, EHESS, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997EHES0027.
Full textThe present monography on to shanghai - in three volumes, including one of illustrations - deals with the highlights in a century and a half of urban development : it analyzes the boost of the metropolis from the second part of the xixth century to its new dimensions symbolized by the development of the pudong area over the last decade, which occured after a thirty years sleep. The search of the city's structuring patterns aims at bringing out the roots from which shanghai' identity sprung. Urban modernisation forms are analyzed on two interlinked scales : a global urban dimension, that of an bird's views or urban planning designs, and a daily based understanding perceved by the pedestrian, that of the shanghai housing. A paradox is that the regularity of the urban network was established during the concessions era, when the city was managed by three different authorities. This urban parcel system will last until the 1990's great public works which will then radically change the system, underwent deep changes. During the maoist regime, an anti-urban policy together with an extremely restricted municipal budget brought the developement to a halt : efforts were aimed at building standardized housing in peripherical blocks or in satellite-cities. At the beginning of the 1980's, the need fot global urban measures became acute facing the public transportation saturation and the recurrent housing shortage crisis. The pudong area project, planned as early as the mid-1980's, became a reality a decade later thanks to dynamic city politicians able to impose their project to the central government and convince international investors. Whether by the housing reform or the selling of land in the city centre, the daily lifestyles of the shanghainese is forever changing in an urban surrounding itself in mutation for the past twenty years

Full textThe jiangnan arsenal and shipyard was established by the regional public authorities in 1865, and has played a leading role in the economic and naval modernization of china. Its history helps us to follow the specific relations between the chinese state and its public enterprises. After a first part which relates the historical background and the traditional role of the imperial state, we try to definie the state of the jiangnan shipyard from 1905 to 1927. At this particular period, the arsenal and the dock were spareted and the dock becam a "free public enterprise". During these two decades, jiangnan's management and commercial policy were comparable to a private enterprise. Its modern organization stemmed from a "sino-foreign mixed management". In the third part, we analyze the shift in the management of jiangnan during the nanking decade (1927-1937). Then, the nationalist government marked a major step in the direction of central control over industrial development in china. Despite a central control, jiangnan has always tried to keep an autonomous management
Idier, Nicolas. "Pierre Ryckmans (alias Simon Leys, né en 1935) : mise en perspective disciplinaire et apport méthodologique en histoire de l’art et sinologie." Thesis, Paris 4, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011PA040245.
Full textPierre Ryckmans, born in 1935 in Belgium, is famous throughout the world under the pen name of Simon Leys, which he adopted to write a series of essays on Chinese contemporary politics. However, this perspicacious sinologist is first and foremost a great Chinese art historian. His works have opened new methodological and theoretical perspectives: clear definition of this « one more art » that is calligraphy, periodization of painting, the setting of a terminology for aesthetics, all these based not only on the translation of art treaties, but also of several types of texts that are characteristic of Chinese scholars culture: casual literary notes, comments, memories, Chinese canons… The main contribution of Pierre Ryckmans is to have addressed both Classic and Contemporary China through its visual culture, to have succeeded in adapting art history to the specificities of the field and context of production – specificities related to linguistics, philosophy, literature and politics. In the historiography of Chinese art history, Pierre Ryckmans occupies a prominent place, largely influential to the developments of current international research. These construction mechanisms had to be explained. This dissertation thus focuses on the contribution of Pierre Ryckmans to Chinese art history, in order to emphasise the coherence of his methods and the lasting relevance of its results
Ku, Loming Rosanna. "Le temple du Ciel à Pekin : étude architecturale." Paris, EPHE, 2004. http://www.theses.fr/2004EPHE4017.
Full textThe temple of Heaven in Pekin constitutes not only an excellent area for architectural studies, it also provides a perfect example illustrating the layout method and module system. By researching the initial modules used for the layout, it was important to trace stages of architectural history and make comparisons with the different historical periods mentioned in ancient texts. This study has produced interesting results which provides explanations showing how architectural coherence was maintained in spite of destruction of some buildings and modification of others during the five centuries since its creation. Using the European method for an architectural monograph, this thesis shows an original way of studying a specific Chinese traditional architectural complex as a whole. Checks have been made on chronological coherence between the layout and historical facts mentioned in the ancient texts
