Abstract:
AbstractOne hundred and fifty-seven students (aged 15 to 19 years) enrolled in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) program completed the Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS), and measures of school-related stress, attitudes to school and wellbeing. In general, VCAL students reported a positive attitude to school, high levels of wellbeing, low levels of school-related stress, and used a wide range of coping strategies. Gender differences and attitudinal differences were found in relation to coping strategies used, wellbeing, and stress. Discriminant analysis indicated that for females, low levels of school-related stress and frequent use of the ‘work hard’coping strategy significantly predicted a positive attitude to school, while for males high levels of wellbeing, and the frequent use of ‘work hard’, ‘focus on the positive’, and minimal use of ‘tension reduction’ predicted positive attitudes to school. The findings are discussed in light of current research and recommendations for interventions are proposed.

Abstract:
The appearance of unaccompanied migrant minors in our communities and the impact they have had on Spanish society, and vice-versa, is a phenomenon of outstanding educational importance, as it has brought into public awareness issues such as child vulnerability and focused our attention on the legal, social and educational policies and resources that are meant to materialise an inclusive, democratic and just society. Around these young people, mainly from the Maghreb and therefore identified with Islam, society has created an image that serves to bolster many Islamophobic, xenophobic and racist discourses emanating from the media and the ideologies of Spanish far-right political parties. This is achieved by generalising the criminal conduct of some migrant youths, by depersonalising them as human beings and by linking news about them to vicarious emotions such as mistrust and the feeling of menace. Recognising the importance of this phenomenon, in this article we present the results of a study aiming to identify and analyse the main stereotypes, attitudes and prejudices that Barcelona secondary-school students have towards unaccompanied migrant minors (MENA in their Spanish initials). To this end a questionnaire based on the Overcoming Prejudice Scale (Etxeberria, Murua, Arrieta, Garmendia & Etxeberria, 2012) was administered. Our findings showed that high-school students hold certain prejudices and stereotypes that should be tackled in order to promote the integration and inclusion of unaccompanied migrant minors and to ensure a culture of peace among young people.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes of high school students toward fitness testing. An instrument containing 18 items and four factors measuring student’s attitudes toward fitness testing: cognitive, affect-enjoyment, affect-feelings, and affect-teacher was completed by 524 boys and 675 girls (N = 1199). MANOVA indicated significant differences among the dependent variables for grade and gender. A stepwise discriminant function analysis (DFA) indicated affect-feelings then affect-enjoyment as variables that predicted these differences. Follow-up tests indicated that gender, and not grade, was the cause of the significant affect-feelings differences. MANOVA for fitness test types and the follow-up DFA indicated that students who completed the FitnessGram test had significantly higher cognitive attitudes than those who completed the President’s Challenge. The results suggest that student gender and the type of fitness test impact and lead to differences in attitudes.

Abstract:
Infant feeding decisions depend on breastfeeding attitudes. This study examined the high school and the vocational school students’ attitudes toward breastfeeding. The descriptive cross-section survey was applied. A stratified random sample of 1,319 male and female students was carried out. The results revealed that female students were more positive than male students in breastfeeding attitudes. Of the female students, 34.7% (n = 458) reported that they will plan to breastfeed, and 29% (n = 382) male students indicated that they will encourage breastfeeding. Moreover, two-thirds (60.7%, n = 801) of the participants favored the inclusion of breastfeeding information in the school curriculum. Findings from this study suggest that breastfeeding information needs to be addressed earlier among adolescent students to increase positive breastfeeding attitudes.

Abstract:
This article summarizes the main educational provisions developed and implemented for gifted and highly able students in Victoria, Australia. It emphasizes the strong influence that different governments have had on policies and guidelines providing for the education of these students. Among the options offered it is possible to differentiate those based on acceleration and high ability grouping. Accelerated learning options include early entry, grade skipping, subject acceleration, Higher Educational Studies program, and International Baccalaureate. High ability grouping includes Select Entry Accelerated Learning programs, select entry high schools, specialized high schools. The identification of students’ advanced intellectual and academic needs and the implementation of effective provisions for these students are strongly related to the level of knowledge and attitude that teachers have towards gifted and highly able students. The implications of the current educational provisions are discussed to reflect and promote better guidelines and more research in the field.

Abstract:
Field research was used to find a attitude towards value among high school students. In Tiruvallur district, 250 high school students were selected as study samples in simple event sampling. The data was designed and the data was designed by the Sublime Attitude Scale Investigator to collect research data. The data collected was tested using analyses at the point of average, deplanation, t-test, etc. As a result of the study, high school students have a significant difference in their gender, language of instruction and school location. To bridge these differences, teachers should first be trained in workplaces to teach values in conjunction with the subject. In order to encourage teachers to provide research papers on value, they should participate in seminars and workshops to improve their teaching skills. Thus, when teachers combine with the subject during learning teaching and teach them values, students can become better citizens.

The study was conducted to determine the performance and attitudes towards reading and writing of Grade 12 students in public schools of Cabagan, Isabela. There were 244 students involved in the study. Stratified random sampling was used in selecting the participants of the study. A quantitative research method was used in the study to determine performance and attitudes towards reading and writing. Frequency counts, percentage scores, the arithmetic mean, and Kendall’s Rank Correlation Tau was used to describe and analyze the data in the study. The findings of the study revealed that students' reading and writing performance were poor. However, their attitudes toward reading and writing were positive. Hence, the study demonstrated that there is a significant correlation between students’ attitudes and their reading and writing performance. Thus, the study supports DepEd’s "SulongEdukalidad" in creating programs to enhance learners' reading mastery and sustain its basic goal of producing quality learners enhanced by quality education. Language teachers should also be engaged and exposed to training to handle weak foundations of learners in basic academic (reading and writing) skills.

Abstract:
While there are several scales that measure students’ mathematical attitudes, few are focused on measuring students’ attitudes towards geometry. Some of the scales present in literature measure different dimensions of students’ attitudes towards geometry, such as their enjoyment of the subject, motivation to learn it, and perception of the usefulness of learning geometry. In the present study, we present an instrument that can be used to measure students’ attitudes towards geometry by focusing on four factors: (1) students’ enjoyment, (2) perception of the usefulness of learning geometry, (3) negative (or positive) factors underlying the learning of geometry, and (4) students’ motivation to learn geometry. The instrument has been tested on a sample of 242 Italian high school students. An exploratory factor analysis has shown that the instrument is valid and the reliability of the instrument is high. Abstract:
Attitudes can affect the overall behavior of students in the learning process. This study aims to investigate the correlation between students’ attitudes and mathematics learning achievements among 367 senior secondary school students in Yobe state, Nigeria. A correlational design was used in the study. The research instruments used were questionnaires designed by the researchers to elicit responses from the students and end-of-term 3rd term mathematics examination scores of the students. The respondents were measured with a relevant standardized scale with Cronbach alpha reliability of 0.83. The data obtained was analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and t-test for independent sample. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between students’ attitudes and mathematics learning achievements of high school students’. In addition, there was a significant difference between male and female students’ attitudes toward mathematics learning achievements of high school students. Thus, it can be concluded that students' attitudes and learning achievement in mathematics are positively related. Female students are more prone to math phobia. In view of these findings, it is recommended that teachers should be wary of student attitudes toward learning mathematics and ensure that mathematics phobias are drastically minimized.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to determine aspects of the school climate through the prism of relationships with students and teachers. Students from three high schools in Mostar participated in the research (N = 399). Significance of differences among students was not determined in relation to students with regard to the school that students attend, but statistically significant differences were found in assessments of school climate and attitudes towards teachers with regard to the school they attend. Because students rated their teachers very low, the results obtained can serve as a guideline for improving student-teacher interaction. Teachers of the schools surveyed should work on their leadership and teaching style to create a comfortable school climate.

Abstract:
Choosing the best career is vital and needs a long process and serious planning for the students to make the right decision. This descriptive study investigated the attitude towards career decision-making of the 302 senior high school students of Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. Factors such as sex, grade level, and socioeconomic status were focused on determine their influence on students’ career decisions. The researchers utilized mean, frequency, and percentage, T-test, and F-test/ANOVA, Scheffe Post Hoc Testing, and Multiple Comparisons to organize the data in the study. The results reveal that parents stand as the most prominent factor in students’ career decisions. Likewise, males and females vary in their career choice such that males are more decisive in their career decision-making than females. Further, students who have lower family incomes tend to be more fixed in their career choice than those whose families earn high salaries. It was recommended that school guidance counselors provide counseling for students to be more aware of the possible courses they pursue and the factors that influence them as delineated in this study. Moreover, the parents let their children decide on the courses they desire to pursue in their tertiary education and the profession they carry out in the future.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a disruption in the regular process of teaching and learning. The inclusion of electronic learning (e-learning) is a measure introduced in order to preserve continuity in school education. E-learning, however, was introduced in response to the state of emergency and the pandemic and not as a pre-planned and well-prepared innovation, thus suggesting the need to research students' attitudes towards the implementation of e-learning in high school biology instruction. 255 students of two Belgrade high schools (the Zemun High School and the Fifth Belgrade High School), in which e-learning was implemented, took part in the study. Processing of the data obtained by means of a questionnaire yielded results indicating that students on the whole have a neutral attitude to e-learning and do not want it to become their sole model of learning. Moreover, they are aware only of some of the benefits provided by e-learning. The results show that there are no statistically significant differences between the attitudes of male and female students to e-learning. Similarly, students' grade, their end-of-semester grade in biology, and rating of how interesting instructional content is, do not affect their attitudes to e-learning. Based on the results, in view of the current situation in terms of health security and the need to optimize the instruction process, further continued training of teachers and students in e-learning and instruction is being planned, as well as the provision of appropriate material and other resources for this purpose.
