Abstract:
To find out whether carbon sequestration is both effective at mitigating climate change and promoting economic growth, in this paper, by adopting a stochastic frontier panel model with translog production function, carbon sequestration is incorporated into endogenous variables to establish estimation model of carbon sequestration total factor productivity (CSTFP) and examine CSTFP growth and its drivers decomposition of the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) of China in three estimations. The result shows that, (1) compared to traditional TFP growth, CSTFP growth in YREB is improved by 26.74 percentages (from −26.55% to 0.20%), contributed by three positive drivers of technical efficiency change (28.59%), technological progress change (18.55%), and scale efficiency change (3.99%); (2) different CSTFP growth exists in three watershed segments of YREB, which firstly is the upper reaches (0.62%), then the lower reaches (0.11%) and the middle reaches (−0.14%). Improved CSTFP growth owes to carbon sequestration’s harmonious symbiosis where natural ecosystems and human activities are naturally blended while insufficient synergies are bottleneck for promotion of CSTFP growth in YREB. Related policy suggestions are provided in the end. The proposed analysis framework is efficient to disclose CSTFP growth in YREB, and can also be applied to similar analysis on CSTFP in regions and extended to multi-country/region analysis.

By 2060, a green low-carbon cycle development of the economic system and a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system will be fully established, carbon neutral goals will be successfully achieved, fruitful results will be achieved in the construction of ecological civilization, and a new realm of harmonious coexistence between man and nature will be created. Urban planning is the blueprint for the development of urban construction and the basis for management of a city. The urban planning of China’s high-speed modernization has encountered many bottlenecks, and the gap between the daily living needs of residents and the urban planning objectives has attracted particular attention. Harmonious development between man and nature is necessary to build a harmonious society, and urban planning that is close to the needs of residents and more humanized has become the main goal of urbanization. In this paper, urban planning of Zhuhai City was studied for one year. Zhuhai focuses on building transport hub, industrial layout, and urban development in three major patterns. Many problems in the planning and management of Zhuhai City were encountered in the past, because the plans are only heavy concepts that ignore implementation and lack of comprehensive survey. Based on the concept of communication planning, the main features of the public participation in the urban planning model through modern mass media may be suitable for achieving the objectives and satisfying public needs. Urban planning and decision-making in Zhuhai City in recent years are evaluated by SWOT method. Future plans of Zhuhai City are discussed.

Abstract:
Spherical Harmonics (SH) have been proven as a powerful tool for rendering, especially in real-time applications such as Precomputed Radiance Transfer (PRT). Spherical harmonics are orthonormal basis functions and are efficient in computing dot products. However, computations of triple product and multiple product operations are often the bottlenecks that prevent moderately high-frequency use of spherical harmonics. Specifically state-of-the-art methods for accurate SH triple products of order n have a time complexity of O ( n 5 ), which is a heavy burden for most real-time applications. Even worse, a brute-force way to compute k -multiple products would take O ( n 2 k ) time. In this paper, we propose a fast and accurate method for spherical harmonics triple products with the time complexity of only O ( n 3 ), and further extend it for computing k -multiple products with the time complexity of O ( kn 3 + k 2 n 2 log ( kn )). Our key insight is to conduct the triple and multiple products in the Fourier space, in which the multiplications can be performed much more efficiently. To our knowledge, our method is theoretically the fastest for accurate spherical harmonics triple and multiple products. And in practice, we demonstrate the efficiency of our method in rendering applications including mid-frequency relighting and shadow fields.

However, since the quest for reality ends up with making real objects, physical prototypes cannot be out-rightly eliminated in product development process. With the advent of rapid prototyping technology (3D printer), manufacturing is now possible at any scale, from units of one to millions, large or small batches. Thus, rapid prototyping is seen as a possible technology for enhancing product development process; especially in small and medium industries that relies on manual production techniques. Hence, this paper investigates the viability of rapid prototyping technology in small and medium industries. Abstract. The necessity of measuring harmonic emissions between 2 and 150 kHz is outlined by several standard committees and electrical utilities. This paper presents a measurement system and its traceable characterization designed to acquire and analyse voltages up to 230 V and currents up to 100 A with harmonics up to 150 kHz that may occur in smart grids. The uncertainty estimation is carried out and described in detail for both the fundamental and supraharmonics components. From a metrological point of view, ensuring the traceability of current measurements for frequencies higher than 100 kHz and dealing with the complexity of uncertainty determination are bottlenecks related to supraharmonics measurements that this paper proposes an approach to deal with.

Purpose: the purpose of the presented article is to study the conditions and possibilities of overcoming the protracted economic crisis in Russia.Methods: the study is based on the use of a modified information logic model, which establishes the relationships between the identified bottlenecks, the causes of their occurrence and possible ways to eliminate these causes.Results: the possibilities of overcoming the crisis are, first of all, to use the potential accumulated in the Russian economy, dispersed by sectors of the complete technological reproduction cycle, including the extraction of resources, their processing into useful materials and semi-finished products, the production of machinery and equipment, as well as the production of final products, the provision of services, infrastructure and waste disposal. Simultaneously with the search for opportunities for economic growth, it is necessary to draw the attention of the Russian Government and the legislative and executive heads to the necessity to correct the strategic mistakes. They were conducted in the process of choosing a resource-export development strategy, separating the financial sector from the support and interests of the development of domestic industrial production sector, ignoring the potential and opportunities for the development of the domestic scientific and technological complex, using imperfect economic management mechanisms, etc. The work justifies the need to overcome a long economic crisis via the management of new opportunities breakthrough, which involves the harmonious development of all economic sectors based on supporting a domestic scientific and technical complex capable to ensure the high technologies development and the competitive products production.Conclusions and Relevance: substantiating and choosing ways to overcome the economic crisis should be focused on achieving harmonious development of all sectors of the economy and using in management practices at the national, corporate and company levels, such methods and instruments of targeted projects and programs management, which are the core basis for economy and society development strategies.

Electric vehicles(EV) are directed as a bequest to the intelligent grid to elevate efficient functions environmentally and economically in different working scenarios. It considerably sustains the resiliency of the local grid during disturbing events. The interaction of electric vehicles to an intelligent grid by accomplishing a synergistic affiliation to disseminate power is vibrant for refining on its way. The aptitude of EVs fleets to turn as one unit for surplus energy storage allows for the mass integration of renewable sources into a conventional grid structure. In this study, a vehicle equipped with V2G functionality offers numerous features such as support for actual and reactive power, load leveling, filtration of current harmonics, etc. Nevertheless, the concept of V2G additionally arises noticeable issues, like depletion of batteries, communiqué bottleneck between grid and vehicle, a modification for the design of a distribution network. In this review, the feasibility of an intelligent V2G system along with its impacts and limitations is thoroughly discussed with the modeling of hybrid generating sources to charge/discharge of EVs by the efficient energy management system.

Abstract Microresonators of ultrahigh quality (Q) factors represent a crucial type of photonic devices aiming at ultra-high spectral resolution, ultra-high sensitivity to the environmental perturbations, and efficient nonlinear wavelength conversions at low threshold pump powers. Lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) microdisks of high Q factors are particularly attractive due to its large second-order nonlinear coefficient and strong electro-optic property. In this letter, we break through the long standing bottleneck in achieving the Q factors of LNOI microresonators beyond 108, which approaches the intrinsic material absorption limit of lithium niobate (LN). The ultra-high Q factors give rise to a rich family of nonlinear optical phenomena from optical parametric oscillation (OPO) to harmonics generation with unprecedented characteristics including ultra-low pump threshold, high wavelength conversion efficiency, and ultra-broad operation bandwidth. Specifically, the threshold of OPO is measured to be only 19.6 μW, and the absolute conversion efficiency observed in the second harmonic generation reaches 23%. The record-breaking performances of the on-chip ultra-high Q LNOI microresonators will have profound implication for both photonic research and industry.

Electric motor drives based on electronic power converters having good power quality parameters are getting huge acceptance. Conventional Diode Bridge Rectifier (DBR) and DC to DC converter-based methods have become obsolete, as they provide low power quality indices which hamper the supply by introducing current harmonics and conduction losses. Although there are many developments in motors and control strategies, the risk and complexity of such drives become bottlenecks in implementation. This study implemented a drive scheme with a brushless DC Motor. The new improved bridgeless topology was modified with an advanced fuzzy logic controller to further improve its power quality and performance. Due to low power, a high-speed application of Brush Less (BLDC) motor was selected for the drive scheme. This combination could achieve almost Unity Power Factor (UPF) and significantly improve control compared to conventional topologies. A circuit-wise analysis was conducted to design the converter's components. The modifications were elaborated through mathematical expressions, and the parameters of power quality were analyzed and validated.

Many issues have arisen for the electricity sector because of the widespread use of gadgets that rely on electrical power. India's energy demands are rising rapidly due to the country's rapid economic development. These days, almost every industry makes extensive use of electrical machinery and equipment. Electronic gadgets add a non-linear demand to the power grid, which can cause power quality (PQ) problems such as voltage fluctuations that can damage electrical equipment and even knock the grid down. As the use of DG units becomes more commonplace, complications related to power conversion interfaces, load switching, and other factors emerge as potential bottlenecks in service. Power filters were first created several decades ago to address problems with PQ and to dampen harmonics caused by nonlinear loads. This document summarises previous studies that have investigated the effectiveness of power filters and other techniques for enhancing power quality. There are also descriptions of research that is still going on and where it stands, as well as a look ahead to what its possible future benefits might be.

The article examines the modern realities of the functioning of the State Regional Development Fund as a budget program within the State Budget of Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to reveal the key features of the Fund functioning in modern conditions, to assess the current state of financial support of regional development projects, to identify the main problems in this field, and to develop possible solutions. The article substantiates the importance of sustainable development of territories as a mode of functioning of the region, characterized by harmonious positive changes in the most important spheres of life of the individual, society, and state, considering the interests of present and future generations. The change of the tendency of the gap between the declared and approved volumes of financing of regional development projects in 2015-2021 is estimated and the possible consequences of such gap are outlined. The volume and number of development projects in the regional and district dimension, funded by the Ukrainian State Regional Development Fund in 2020, are marked on the map of Ukraine. The need for uniform distribution of project financing based on the new zoning and elimination of "white spots" on the project map is emphasized. The ratio of the number of regional development projects in terms of settlements of implementation by their status was studied. Structural analysis of the use of funds of the Ukrainian State Regional Development Fund by purpose and type of work is performed; the average cost of regional development projects by category and in general are calculated and compared. Based on the analysis, the "bottlenecks" of the Ukrainian State Regional Development Fund functioning at the present stage are identified and the ways to solve them are proposed.

Since the first isolated attosecond pulse was demonstrated through high-order harmonics generation (HHG) in 2001, researchers’ interest in the ultrashort time region has expanded. However, one realizes a limitation for related research such as attosecond spectroscopy. The bottleneck is concluded to be the lack of a high-peak-power isolated attosecond pulse source. Therefore, currently, generating an intense attosecond pulse would be one of the highest priority goals. In this paper, we review our recent work of a TW-class parallel three-channel waveform synthesizer for generating a gigawatt-scale soft-X-ray isolated attosecond pulse (IAP) using HHG. By employing several stabilization methods, we have achieved a stable 50 mJ three-channel optical-waveform synthesizer with a peak power at the multi-TW level. This optical-waveform synthesizer is capable of creating a stable intense optical field for generating an intense continuum harmonic beam thanks to the successful stabilization of all the parameters. Furthermore, the precision control of shot-to-shot reproducible synthesized waveforms is achieved. Through the HHG process employing a loose-focusing geometry, an intense shot-to-shot stable supercontinuum (50–70 eV) is generated in an argon gas cell. This continuum spectrum supports an IAP with a transform-limited duration of 170 as and a submicrojoule pulse energy, which allows the generation of a GW-scale IAP. Another supercontinuum in the soft-X-ray region with higher photon energy of approximately 100–130 eV is also generated in neon gas from the synthesizer. The transform-limited pulse duration is 106 as. Thus, the enhancement of HHG output through optimized waveform synthesis is experimentally proved.

The gradual shift towards cleaner and green energy sources requires the application of electric vehicles (EVs) as the mainstream transportation platform. The application of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) shows promise in optimizing the power demand, shaping the load variation, and increasing the sustainability of smart grids. However, no comprehensive paper has been compiled regarding the of operation of V2G and types, current ratings and types of EV in sells market, policies relevant to V2G and business model, and the implementation difficulties and current procedures used to cope with problems. This work better represents the current challenges and prospects in V2G implementation worldwide and highlights the research gap across the V2G domain. The research starts with the opportunities of V2G and required policies and business models adopted in recent years, followed by an overview of the V2G technology; then, the challenges associated with V2G on the power grid and vehicle batteries; and finally, their possible solutions. This investigation highlighted a few significant challenges, which involve a lack of a concrete V2G business model, lack of stakeholders and government incentives, the excessive burden on EV batteries during V2G, the deficiency of proper bidirectional battery charger units and standards and test beds, the injection of harmonics voltage and current to the power grid, and the possibility of uneconomical and unscheduled V2G practices. Recent research and international agency reports are revised to provide possible solutions to these bottlenecks and, in places, the requirements for additional research. The promise of V2G could be colossal, but the scheme first requires tremendous collaboration, funding, and technology maturation.

Objective:to promote the sustainable and efficient utilization of water resources in Henan Province, accelerate the optimization of the water resources management system, innovate the government administrative management mode, and provide new strategic countermeasures and path choices for the industrial upgrading and transformation in water resources related fields and the high-quality development of regional economy in Henan Province. Methods: by combing the current situation and existing problems of water resources utilization in Henan Province, this study focuses on analyzing the strategic opportunities faced by the field of water resources in Henan Province and expounds on the innovation and application of cutting-edge key technologies for water resources protection and utilization in Henan Province. Results: while the protection and utilization of water resources in Henan Province have achieved great results, it still faces great challenges: low water-saving results, imperfect advanced technology system, unstable water pollution control results, and imperfect water resource management mechanism. Conclusion: in the future, we must coordinate the relationship between water resources development and protection, establish the idea of harmonious development, give full play to the regional advantages of Henan Province, strengthen the research and development of cutting-edge key technologies, innovate the government management mechanism, and realize the efficient and sustainable utilization of water resources.

Abstract: The danger of the novel coronavirus has not yet come to an end, and new variants have begun to attack the world. What philosophy should humankind’s strategy be based on when human society as a group is fighting against Covid-19, as the pandemic ravages the world? Unfortunately, political leaders of various countries have failed to achieve the overall awareness of attacking the pandemic for a shared future for mankind so far. In the face of the pandemic, mankind as a whole urgently needs to break through the narrow nation-oriented ideology of seeking only self-protection. The International Community should establish a new type of international cooperation featuring the concept of harmony of "all things under heaven as a unity". The international relations system dominated by the power ofwestern discourse is now in a bottleneck. The main aim of this article is to study the ancient Chinese wisdom of "the Unity of Man and Heaven" philosophy and build a global harmonious community.
