Abstract:
The harder the forearm flexor–pronator muscles (FPMs) relative to the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), the less likely it is for UCL laxity to occur with repeated pitching. This study aimed to clarify what selective contraction of the forearm muscles makes FPMs harder relative to UCL. The study evaluated 20 elbows of male college students. Participants selectively contracted the forearm muscles in eight conditions under gravity stress. The medial elbow joint width and the strain ratio indicating tissue hardness of the UCL and FPMs during contraction were evaluated using an ultrasound system. Contraction of all FPMs (in particular flexor digitorum superficialis [FDS] and pronator teres [PT]) decreased the medial elbow joint width compared to rest (p < 0.05). UCL hardens due to the contraction involving the FDS muscle (p < 0.05). FPMs harden due to the contraction of flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU) and FDS (p < 0.05). In the ratio of strain ratio UCL/FPMs, there was no significant difference between rest and each contraction task (p > 0.05). However, contractions composed of FCU and PT tended to harden FPMs relative to the UCL. FCU and PT activation may be effective in UCL injury prevention.

Abstract:
Abstract Demands on Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) data transport have been increasing over the years as frame sizes and refresh rates increase. As the bandwidths requirements increase the ability to implement data transport protocol layers using “soft” programmable logic becomes harder and start to require harden IP blocks implementation. To reduce the number of physical links and interconnects, it is common for data acquisition systems to require interleaving of streams on the same link (e.g. streaming data and streaming register access). This paper presents a way to leverage existing FPGA harden IP blocks to achieve a robust, low latency 100 Gb/s point-to-point link with minimal programmable logic overhead geared towards the needs of data acquisition systems with interleaved streaming requirements.

Abstract:
Alumina cement which was used in this investigation contains about 56% of Al2O3 in the component. Early compressive strength alumina cement at 1 and 3 days can be achieved of 85% compressive strength value at 28 days. After a long period of hydration, the compressive strength of alumina cement harder decreased due to the releasing process of aluminum hydroxide [Al(OH)3] to the outside environment [1, 4,11]. To improve and maintain the long lasting compressive strength of alumina cement harden, new binders would be created SiO2- Al2O3 and among CaO-SiO2-Al2O3. The new binders would exist sustainably in the cement harden as a result of the chemical reaction between the product of hydrated cement called gel [Al(OH)3] with micro silica (amorphous SiO2) [4]. This report demonstrates the result of the investigation which is about the effect of silica fume and fly ash on alumina cement.

Abstract:
Abstract In the 1850's John Harden and E.A. Watkins, missionaries of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) to James Bay, began the work of adapting James Evan's Cree syllabic orthography to Inuktitut. Watkins' introduced the syllabic writing system to Inuit at Fort George and Little Whale River in 1855, and that same year Harden printed a small book of scripture verses in syllables on his press at Moose Factory. In 1865, at the request of CMS Secretary Henry Venn, Harden and Watkins met in conference in England and modified the syllabic system to allow a more precise rendering of both Inuktitut and Moose Cree. It remained for Edmund James Peck, who arrived in the diocese in 1876, to devote his attention to the translation of scripture into Inuktitut in Harden and Watkins' orthography. Only minor changes were made in the Inuktitut orthography until the major revision under the direction of the Inuit Cultural Institute in the 1970's.

In 2013 the rules for solving the puzzle changed with the implementation of Resource Description and Access (RDA), bringing new opportunities for providing improved access to information. As with any major change, people need assistance in understanding and incorporating new rules. This can be especially true when dealing with special formats, like printed or recorded music, where the basic rules do not always seem pertinent to the “puzzle” before you. This brings us the aptly titled new book Music Description and Access: Solving the Puzzle of Cataloging by Dr. Jean Harden. Harden is a long-time practitioner and educator in the field of music cataloging, and has been recognized nationally for her contributions to the profession. In her latest work, Harden attempts to solve the cataloging puzzle.

Abstract:
At present, the research on the radiation-harden ability is the hot spot in the field of aerospace devices. In the paper, one commercial D flip-flop chain and one radiation-harden D flip-flop chain are chosen to be tested on the five conditions of different work frequency in the range of 100k~100M. The test would help us to study the frequency effect on SEE. The result shows that when the work frequency increases 103times, the upset threshold of commercial D flip-flop chain is almost unchanged, but the saturation cross section of the single event upset (SEU) increases about 7.13 times. Compared with radiation-harden D flip-flop chain, the reinforced chain has higher upset threshold, lower upset saturation cross section, and the saturation cross section increases about 3.71 times when the work frequency increases 103times.

Abstract:
Objectives: Curriculum analysis is an essential process in exploring the validity of assumptions behind the curriculum and judging its perspectives, goals, and objectives. This study analysed the curriculum of the Internal Medicine Residency Programme at the Sudan Medical Specialisation Board, exploring the programme’s strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Materials and Methods: A qualitative descriptive analysis method using Harden Ten Questions framework was used, implemented through document analysis. Thematic analysis was used to categorise the findings following the Harden Ten Questions framework. Results: The analysis of this curriculum using Harden Ten Questions framework revealed that it is built on needs assessment, with clear objectives and contents, good organisation of the contents and a precise management process. However, there is a need to improve the areas related to training strategies, training methods, assessment methods and the learning environment. Conclusions: This study showed that the curriculum is built to meet the needs of the Sudanese community. The contents fit for internal medicine clinical residency and the methods of training are likely to foster long-life learning. The curriculum needs some improvement particularly in the following areas such as clinical teaching, trainee assessments, and learning environments. Harden Ten Questions framework for curricula was practical to some degree in analysing the postgraduate curriculum. However, some suggestions have been made regarding the original framework to make it more adaptable to curriculum analysis at postgraduate level. The systematic analysis is transferable to the analysis of other undergraduate or postgraduate medical curricula in Sudan.

Abstract:
Despite much work on the iron compounds found on invertebrate and vertebrate teeth, no interspecific quantitative analyses of iron compounds in fish teeth have ever been conducted, nor in any vertebrate has such a study related the iron concentrations to the feeding ecology. This study reveals that ferric iron exists on the tooth cap of eight species of chaetodontid butterflyfishes. The iron layer appears early in tooth development and is darkest, and presumably more concentrated, towards the tooth tip. There are significant differences among the eight species, with those that feed on harder prey having more iron than those that feed on softer-bodied prey. Furthermore, there exist differences among the species that correlate with the degree of morphological specialization for feeding on hard-bodied prey. The iron layer, which has been shown by others to be harder than the underlying enameloid, probably represents a specialization to harden the teeth, resisting abrasion and cracking.

Abstract:
In this paper, we systematically studied Ca–YBCO [Formula: see text] and CaLa–YBCO [Formula: see text] systems by Raman spectroscopy. It is found that [Formula: see text] is closely related to the vibration of lattice. In the Ca–YBCO system, the phonons around 115 and 335 cm[Formula: see text] harden as the [Formula: see text] decreases. Oppositely, the 140 cm[Formula: see text] mode and the 220 cm[Formula: see text] mode soften. In the CaLa–YBCO system, the [Formula: see text] decreases gradually with the content of Ca and La. The Raman peak of 140 cm[Formula: see text] mode hardens and the 360 cm[Formula: see text] mode softens. Besides, the fluctuations of phonons of 210 cm[Formula: see text] mode and 575 cm[Formula: see text] mode were observed.
