Abstract:
Introduction: Hansson Pinloc system consists of three pins locking into a plate. In biomechanical trials, the novel plate design with its pin configuration enhanced torsional stability. Hansson Pinloc has been used for femoral neck fracture in some countries including Sweden and Japan. Recently, the outcome of a randomized clinical study comparing Hansson Pinloc and conventional Hansson pins was published. However, subtrochanteric fracture after internal fixation using Hansson Pinloc has not been reported in the English literature including the above report. Only several Japanese literatures reported some cases with this post-operative complication. We present a case with subtrochanteric fracture after internal fixation using Hansson Pinloc. Case Report: Subtrochanteric fractures after internal fixation of femoral neck fractures are rare but severe complications. We present our experience of this complication after internal fixation using Hansson Pinloc system which is a new design implant for femoral neck fracture. A 67-year-old woman was diagnosed with a femoral neck fracture of Garden stage I after a fall. She underwent closed reduction and internal fixation using Hansson Pinloc system. At 4 weeks after surgery, she suffered subtrochanteric fracture without any episode of trauma. The patient underwent removal of the instrumentation and internal fixation with a long femoral nail. We get in trouble with removing Hansson Pinloc system due to secondary fracture, and of bone defect. 9 weeks after the second surgery, the patient could get bone union and walk using double T-canes. Conclusion: Surgeons should be cognizant of this post-operative complication before using this system. In osteosynthesis of the femoral neck fracture using Hansson Pinloc, we should keep in mind that subtrochanteric fracture is a possible post-operative complication. Full text
Abstract:
First published in 1893, George Egerton's Keynotes was immediately popular, selling six thousand copies in its first year alone. Appearing three years later, Laura Marholm Hansson's review effectively singles out what made the text such a tremendous success: each story offered readers a probing representation of woman's “consciousness” or inner world of emotional and sexual passions, subjects unavailable in any “previous work.” Egerton was, of course, the penname for Mary Chavelita Dunne Bright, and many of the themes covered in Keynotes were loosely modeled after her own life. The volume was uncompromising in its portrayal of women's desires, or those “notes” from which it takes its title. “[T]here are no signs of girlish prudery in ‘Keynotes,’” Hansson continues, “it is a liberal book, indiscreet in respect of the intimacies of married life, and entirely without respect for the husband” (63). Despite this high praise, Hansson also worries whether Keynotes was not “too good a book to become famous all at once” (61). Her hesitation alludes to the mixed reception among readers and literary critics, for to say that everyone loved Egerton's fiction would be an exaggeration and, more importantly, would miss the cultural work of her appetitive characters. As signaled by the second epigraph, taken from Egerton's “Now Spring Has Come,” Keynotes was full of stories focused on “unconventional” women who “hungered” for both food and love; such libidinal desires were unthinkable – and even unspeakable – in a world where the proper Victorian lady was defined in terms of bodily sacrifice. While some readers certainly disapproved, still others like Hansson, as the first epigraph suggests, welcomed this “independent” turn in women's writing and saw in Egerton's characters a reflection of their own “woman's individuality.”

Full text
Abstract:

This report is a study of information quality that has been carried out at Nils Hanssons Åkeri Ltd. The objective was to focus on the information flow at the firm. This was done by three case studies where two departments, the market department and the traffic management department, were studied. These departments were chosen because there is a natural flow of information between them that has not been evident for everybody involved before.

Today, the information flow has a difficulty to contribute to the value creation process. The case studies were analyzed by means of an information quality model where the flaws were made visible. A scale model was designed in order to visualise the balance between the material and the immaterial flow. The scale model visualized that the current focus is the material part. The importance of a well functioning information flow is not prioritized. This makes the scale unbalanced and it weighs over to the material side. In order to restore the balance, it is required that everyone concerned sees the information as a product and not as a by-product.

The case studies led to three improvement suggestions. The first is that NHAB should designate one person that is responsible for the whole information quality process. The next suggestion is to have annual meetings involving the two departments. The third suggestion is to have a central place were the departments can share information. It was also required to have a checklist that can increase the information quality.

Abstract:
The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the possibility to communicate messagesrelated to sustainable development through cultural works. Culture is here synonymous toliterature or, more specifically, the fiction genre. According to ecocritical research, this genrehas the capacity to contribute to a more sustainable development and is therefore interestingto analyse from an environmental point of view. The novel selected for the study is Vips så blev det liv - eller en hyllning till blågrönalgen(2010), written by the Swedish author Bob Hansson. The analysis is mainly focused on howthe book’s climate related messages are formulated and integrated in the story. Alsoconsidered is in what way Hansson’s strategies are compatible with the expectations raisedtowards the fiction genre within the context of sustainable development; expectations thatinclude the ability to evoke emotion, to convey new values and perspectives, and to act as alink between different parts of society. One conclusion to be drawn from the analysis is that Hansson approaches the climate issuein several ways. For example, Vips så blev det liv reflects both anthropocentric and bio-/ecocentric values, and the messages are delivered in an informative as well as in anillustrative manner. Moreover, the literary tropes give the book an emotional touch, whichmay help the reader to comprehend the information. In other words, the methods used are to alarge extent in line with the above mentioned expectations towards the fiction genre. What is however important to remember, is that the book includes several parallel themesand many comic episodes. For that reason, it cannot be taken for granted that the reader willpay much attention to the climate messages; however emotional, multidisciplinary andunconventional they may be. This highlights the difficulty in predicting the response to acertain cultural work. In order to understand its true potential in terms of communicatingmessages for a sustainable development, it is therefore essential to analyse the whole chainthat links the creator of the work to its recipients.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to survey the textile based proto-industrialism in Sweden in the middle of the 19th century. This case study is founded upon Anders Hansson’s pre-industrial textile production at the estate of Mölneby, Östra Frölunda in the rural district of Kind in the province of Västra Götaland. Account books from the year 1853 related to Anders Hansson’s wool fabric manufacturing have been looked into and categorized using a quantitative research method. The research has also been supplemented with a number of interviews. The result of the survey shows that Anders Hansson’s business activities fit into Mendel’s theory of proto-industrialists at a practice level. By collaborating with a merchant in Gothenburg the fabrics were traded in unknown markets, as well as in more familiar neighbouring districts. The amount of production varied due to agricultural season. Usually it contributed to the income of the peasant’s family, but for some people living in poor-houses it was their only income. The theory of proto-industrialism also assumes that there is a surplus of food production in adjacent districts, something that is not completely evident in this study.  However, an accumulation of capital can be seen as continuous investments in forest land and agricultural properties took place. Furthermore, the study shows that Anders Hansson’s business activities also led to his acquisition of trading skills as well as specialist knowledge of how to organize production. Consequently, the conclusion of the study has to be put forward in the following way: by looking into the case study and earlier research of the proto-industrial theory it is evident that this activity at practice level co-existed in a symbiotic relationship in the rural society as well as in the urban society. Mendel’s proto-industrial theory discusses and analyses different parts of this manufacturing as a contributing factor to the industrialization or as in the case of Anders Hansson’s manufacturing; the de-industrialization.

Abstract:
In the Anthropocene, a new approach towards nature in poetry is emerging. This change is closely related to ecocritical theory, which is a reevaluation of the human view on, and representation of, nature. It moves away from a more traditional anthropocentric perspective to a more critical one. This can for instance be in the spirit of Arne Naess or Timothy Morton, the two main theorists used in this essay. This essay is an ecocritical close reading of two Swedish contemporary poems on nature: “När jag går i skymningsmörkret” by Ingela Strandberg (from Att snara en fågel, 2018) and “(Strandförskjutningar)” by Gunnar D Hansson (from Tapeshavet, 2017). The focus of the reading is on the representation of wild, untouched nature. The formulated questions in the essay concern how untouched nature is represented in the poems, the human relationship towards it and how the differences and similarities between the two poems relate to and transform romantic representations of nature.  The conclusion is that these two very different poems exemplify the range of contemporary Swedish nature poetry. Strandberg’s poem is leaning towards a romantic or ecosofist representation of nature, whilst Hansson’s is more clear-cut ecocritical in line with Morton’s dark ecology.

Persson, David. Thesis, Lille 2, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014LIL20002.

Abstract:
This thesis relates the forms and effects of the utopianism that underlies the SAP (Swedish Social-Democratic Party) political project between 1932 and 1986. The power of ideas, symbols and imaginary in politics is our theoretical base. The political discourse of the SAP leaders and the importance of words in the creation of public policy are studied. Our corpus consists of a vast archive material. Guided by utopianism, the leaders express their will to create a new society. The Folkhem political metaphor, narrative at the heart of the political glossary of the SAP, is in the centre of this utopianism. The notion is used as a mobilizingmyth for the new society and it works as a social contract for the Swedes. The Folkhem narratives help us understand the Swedish model and contemporary Sweden. By its extreme plasticity and by being part of the Swedish identity, the notion is still a source of political legitimacy and continues to produce meaning

Abstract:
Selective Revision was proposed by Fermé and Hansson as a belief revision operation in which it is possible to accept only a part of the input information. In this paper, we extend Selective Revision to belief bases and also to logics not closed under negation.

Abstract:
A proximal femur fracture due to osteoporosis is one of serious health care problems in aging societies. Osteosynthesis with pin or screw type of implants, such as Hansson pin (HP), Dual SC Screw (DSCS), is widely used for femoral neck fracture treatment in Japan. Unfortunately, some complications such as secondary fractures, especially peri-prosthetic fractures, may occur during postoperative rehabilitation period. In order to reveal the potential cause of the postoperative fracture from the viewpoint of the biomechanics, authors had already performed the dynamic stress analysis of the treated proximal femur based on finite element (FE) analysis. The final goal of our project is to establish the reliable postoperative bone fracture risk assessment method in response to the daily activity including mainly walking. The aim of this study is to propose a novel elastic multi body analysis method based on FE analysis for proximal femur biomechanics. Patient-specific 3D left hip joint FE model was constructed from an elderly female volunteer’s CT images. The model consists of the pelvis, proximal femur, cartilage and DSCS, as multi bodies. The dynamic loading and boundary conditions were applied to the model for simulating a gait motion. Direction and magnitude of the loads varies in response to the gait motion. The time dependent loading forces; hip contact, gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, tensor fasciae latae and adductor, acting around the hip joint was obtained by inverse dynamic analysis of a human gait using in-house lower-limb musculoskeletal model. These loading and boundary conditions for simulating the gait motion are the major technical advantages of the proposed multi body analysis comparing with the conventional static FE analysis. Time varying stress distribution during the gait was evaluated by using dynamic explicit method via ABAQUS. In order to visually demonstrate dynamic stress distribution, we examined the time varying von Mises stresses at the representative points located on the cortical surface of the proximal femur; femoral head, fracture surface and around the lateral insertion holes. The results indicate significant increase of the stresses around the proximal lateral insertion holes for DSCS treatment. Maximum stress values are good agreement with the previous static FE analysis, on the other hand, these biomechanical discussions based on the stress time histories are only obtained from the proposed method. It is indicated that the proposed method is feasible to support the better pre- and postoperative clinical decisions, which is the main contribution of this study.
