Abstract:

Zusammenfassung In der »Nachkriegszeit« (1948) entstand auf Anregung des jungen Hans-Joachim Kraus die Initiative für einen neuen Kommentar zum Alten Testament, der gründliche exegetische Arbeit und theologische Auslegung vereinigen sollte. Hans Walter Wolff, Martin Noth, Gerhard von Rad und Walther Zimmerli wurden für den Gründerkreis gewonnen. Gemeinsam stellten sie das hinter dem Kommentar stehende Konzept 1952 in der »Evangelischen Theologie« vor. Es findet auch in der Gliederung jedes Kommentarabschnitts in »Text - Ort - Zeit - Wort - Ziel« seinen Ausdruck, zeigt aber im Übrigen eine große theologische Vielfalt, die in diesem Beitrag näher entfaltet wird. Seither hat der Kommentar eine bewegte Geschichte durchlaufen und hat sich zu einem unentbehrlichen exegetischen und theologischen Arbeitsinstrument entwickelt. Inzwischen findet man unter den Mitarbeitern schon die dritte Generation.

Abstract:

Hans Walter Kosterlitz will be remembered as the winner of an international race to identify the first endogenous opioid, enkephalin. He came to the UK from Berlin in 1934, one of the many scientific émigrés of that period who later so enriched biochemistry, physiology and pharmacology. His entire career was spent at the University of Aberdeen, where he developed a reputation first in carbohydrate metabolism and later in the pharmacology of opiates. His strong experimental skills, and particularly the use of bioassays on tissues from laboratory animals, allowed him to predict the effectiveness and abuse potential of opiate drugs. Most notably, this led to the isolation of the peptide hormone enkephalin, the first of a group of such peptides now often known as endorphins. This work was done in his seventies, after his official retirement, with an energy and enthusiasm that could leave younger colleagues physically tired but intellectually stimulated.

Neste artigo, propõe-se o aprofundamento teórico do conceito de limiar a partir da análise das obras de Hans Breder e do fotógrafo brasileiro Walter Tochtrop. Primeiramente, a ideia de dissolução e deformação são analisadas a partir do pensamento de Gaston Bachelard e de suas reflexões a respeito dos arquétipos da água e do ar. Posteriormente, discute-se a presença do espelho enquanto elemento artístico, evocando a ideia de heterotopia desenvolvida por Michel Foucault. A partir disso, propõe-se o caráter reflexivo, crítico e criativo das zonas liminares, compreendo-as como um possível espaço de transformação e engendramento de novas realidades.

Walter Greiner (29 October 1935 - 6 October 2016) was a German theoretical physicist. His scientific research interests include the thematic areas of atomic physics, heavy ion physics, nuclear physics, elementary particle physics (particularly quantum electrodynamics and quantum chromodynamics). He is most known in Germany for his series of books in theoretical physics, but he is also well known around the world. Greiner was born on October 29, 1935, in Neuenbau, Sonnenberg, Germany. He studied physics at the University of Frankfurt (Goethe University in Frankfurt Am Main), receiving in this institution a BSci in physics and a Master’s degree in 1960 with a thesis on plasma-reactors, and a PhD in 1961 at the University of Freiburg under Hans Marshal, with a thesis on the nuclear polarization in [Formula: see text]-mesic atoms. During the period of 1962 to 1964 he was assistant professor at the University of Maryland, followed by a position as research associate at the University of Freiburg, in 1964. Starting in 1965, he became a full professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Goethe University until 2003. Greiner has been a visiting professor to many universities and laboratories, including Florida State University, the University of Virginia, the University of California, the University of Melbourne, Vanderbilt University, Yale University, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory. In 2003, with Wolf Singer, he was the founding Director of the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS), and gave lectures and seminars in elementary particle physics. He died on October 6, 2016 at the age of 80. Walter Greiner was an excellent teacher, researcher, friend. And he was a great supporter of the series of events known by the acronyms IWARA - International Workshop on Astronomy and Relativistic Astrophysics, STARS - Caribbean Symposium on Cosmology, Gravitation, Nuclear and Astroparticle Physics, and SMFNS - International Symposium on Strong Electromagnetic Fields and Neutron Stars. Walter Greiner left us. But his memory will remain always alive among us who have had the privilege of knowing him and enjoy his wisdom and joy of living.

Neste artigo, faço uma reflexão crítica sobre o romance A montanha mágica (1924), de Thomas Mann, como um possível romance de formação. De acordo com Franco Moretti, o ‘Bildungsorman” é a forma simbólica da modernidade, porque é nela que a juventude se torna a parte mais significativa da vida, na medida em que incorpora o dinamismo e a instabilidade que tanto caracterizam a temporalidade moderna. A experiência da juventude pode ser uma das coisas perdidas depois da Primeira Guerra Mundial. Esta experiência é marcada por uma sensação de perda da capacidade de construir sentido, como Walter Benjamin articulou em seu famoso ensaio “Experiência e pobreza”. Ele é um personagem de romance de formação na medida em que se deixa educar esteticamente.

Resumo Quando se faz referências às relações entre Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) e Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) a menção sempre lembrada é a da amizade. Nas homenagens prestadas à Hannah Arendt por ocasião de sua morte, o filósofo Hans Jonas - amigo de Arendt desde o tempo que foram colegas na universidade em Marburg e alunos de Heidegger - destacou sua vocação para a amizade. Segundo ele, o que a movia era o Eros da amizade (Eros der Freundschaft). No círculo dos amigos mais próximos, incluía-se Walter Benjamin, com quem convivera no exílio em Paris entre os anos 1936 e 1940. E a amizade como pensada e cultivada na prática pelos dois pensadores situava-se no centro de suas vidas, como laço afetivo e visão de mundo. Este paper aborda a relação entre Arendt e Benjamin em dois âmbitos: a amizade, construída na situação de filósofos judeus-alemães refugiados em Paris, e as afinidades eletivas na concepção da história e da modernidade.

This paper intends to approach Hans-Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutical view of history to Walter Benjamin’s dialectical concept of it, choosing, as a contrasting point of view, historicism, which overlaps fact by comprehension on behalf of a so-called scientific neutrality. To the impossibility of ignoring the “being-there” of the historian, peculiar to gadamerian hermeneutics, Benjamin adds both the presuppositions of historical materialism and the concept of time present in Jewish-Christian theology and Jewish mystics, turning History into science and remembrance, conservation and redemption.

Tysk, kulturkritisk reaktionær livsfilosof. Til hans pantheon af inspirationertæller særligt Goethe, Nietzsche og Bachofen. Som ung blev Klages kendt som psykologisk og grafologisk teoretiker og var centralt medlem af den litterære og kunstneriske kreds omkring digteren Stefan Georges i München. Han havde studeret kemi og fysik i Leipzig og tog i München en doktorgrad i kemi, men komaldrig til at arbejde som kemiker. En akademisk karriere inden for psykologi eller filosofi forfulgte han heller ikke. I 1915 flyttede han til Schweiz i afsmag for militarismen, krigen og den moderne måde at være tysk på, og blev der resten af sine dage. Berygtet er Klages’ antisemitisme, som ikke var racebiologisk, men en åndskritisk antijudaisme. I manges øjne bragte den ham ideologisk i betænkelignærhed af nazismen, om end nazisternes chefideolog Alfred Rosenberg i 1938 tordnede imod Klages’ filosofi. Hovedværket fra 1929, Der Geist als Widersacher der Seele, udtrykker Klages’ grundtanke om sjælen og ånden som modsatrettede magter, hvorfra alle hans naturog kulturanalyser kan afledes. Hans indflydelse på en kulturkritiker som Walter Benjamin, der læses meget på danske universiteter, erunægtelig, men lidet erkendt herhjemme.

The analysis by Haggbloom, et al. (2002) establishing a list of the most eminent psychologists of the 20th century contains significant errors. In one case the achievements of Walter B. Cannon are misattributed to W. Gary Cannon. Other errors are eponyms misattributed to Margaret F. Washburn, Morton Deutsch, Wolfgang Köhler, and G. Stanley Hall. A further mistake is to miscalculate the statistic for introductory psychology textbook citations for Hans J. Eysenck. These errors have consequences for the ranking of individuals on this list. Care must be taken to guard against such mistakes.
