Abstract:

Abstract:
This chapter examines perfectoid spaces. A Huber ring R is Tate if it contains a topologically nilpotent unit; such elements are called pseudo-uniformizers. One can more generally define when an analytic Huber ring is perfectoid. There are also notions of integral perfectoid rings which are not analytic. In this course, the perfectoid rings are all Tate. It would have been possible to proceed with the more general definition of perfectoid ring as a kind of analytic Huber ring. However, being analytic is critical for the purposes of the course. The chapter then looks at tilting and sousperfectoid rings. The class of sousperfectoid rings has good stability properties.

Abstract:
In this chapter, Huler canoes along a path similar to one Lawson took around the South Carolina coast. Huler discovers the environment and scenery of Lawson’s journey along the salted marsh rife with Spartina alterniflora, or marsh grass. Huler continues paddling across the Charleston Harbor through the tides, and to the mouth of the Santee, which he learns is not easy. Huler begins to appreciate the danger Lawson encountered while canoeing through the waves along the coast from Charleston to coastal communities and islands nearby. On the other hand, Huler learns to paddle and adventure through the wind despite exhaustion. Huler’s first journey ends with his stay at McClellanville.

Abstract:
The word “hand” occurs more times in King John than in any other Shakespeare play. This is no accident. This play imagines sovereign agency through forms of prosthesis, and figures sovereignty through synecdoche: parts standing in for wholes. The word “hand” comes to the fore at moments in the play where the transactional nature of sovereign power is being accentuated: in John’s uncomfortable second coronation and, most concentratedly, in the peculiar circumstances of Prince Arthur’s death, a death that is willed by many but enacted by none. In the disputes between King John and Hubert over their relative responsibility, the word “hand” becomes a focus for a drawn-out meditation on the extent to which sovereign power is alienable or always located in the person of the King himself.

Abstract:
This chapter examines Huler’s meeting with Dale Loberger who is interested in uncovering old roads in the Charlotte area. Together, they compare old maps and modern maps. During Huler’s and Loberger’s time together, they cook using modern tools and use modern technology to record their data. Huler recognizes that his purpose is not to do exactly what Lawson did, but to walk, talk to people, and look at the environment. Loberger advises Huler about surveying land and the math that will help determine old paths and lands. In Charlotte, Huler acknowledges the beauty of creeks but also addresses pollution. At the end of this chapter, Huler reflects on Lawson’s barbecue meal with the Indians. Huler, on the other hand, prefers sandwiches and fish.

Full text
Abstract:
Basic symptoms are subtle, subjectively experienced disturbances in mental processes including thinking, speech, attention, perception, drive, stress tolerance, and affect, originally described by Gerd Huber. Basic symptoms are present in prodromal, psychotic, and residual/deficit states of schizophrenia and have been conceptualized as the most immediate psychopathological expression of the neurobiological abnormalities underlying the development and persistence of psychosis. Basic symptoms are currently mostly recognized for their potential to detect psychosis prior to the first psychotic episode and, thus, for their ability to herald persistent positive symptoms. Although initially described to facilitate understanding of deficit states in schizophrenia, their contribution to negative symptoms has less been studied, although the evaluation of basic symptoms helps in improving understanding of the psychopathology—including differentiation of primary and secondary negative symptoms—and course of schizophrenia and in planning better treatment.

Abstract:
As an innovative sparse kernel modeling method, support vector regression (SVR) has been regarded as the state-of-the-art technique for regression and approximation. In the support vector regression, Vapnik developed the -insensitive loss function as a trade-off between the robust loss function of Huber and one that enables sparsity within the support vectors. The use of support vector kernel expansion provides us a potential avenue to represent nonlinear dynamical systems and underpin advanced analysis. However, in the standard quadratic programming support vector regression (QP-SVR), its implementation is more computationally expensive and enough model sparsity can not be guaranteed. In an attempt to surmount these drawbacks, this article focus on the application of soft-constrained linear programming support vector regression (LP-SVR) in nonlinear black-box systems identification, and the simulation results demonstrates that the LP-SVR is superior to QP-SVR in model sparsity and computational efficiency

Full text
Abstract:
The COOLTRANS research programme is an £8 Million, three year (2011–2014) research and development project to identify, address and resolve key issues relating to the safe routeing, design, construction and operation of onshore pipelines transporting dense phase carbon dioxide (CO2) in the United Kingdom (UK). National Grid Carbon established and led the project. National Grid Carbon brought together major technical capability in academic and industry organisations in the UK and coordinated the research studies in order to provide a ‘fast-track’ for the identification and application of key learning to its ongoing pipeline projects. In particular, National Grid Carbon is pursuing plans to develop a pipeline network in the Humber and North Yorkshire areas of the UK to transport dense phase CO2 from major industrial emitters in the area to a saline aquifer off the Yorkshire coast. The COOLTRANS research programme has provided the technical foundations for the design and operation of CO2 pipelines in the UK. The paper highlights the key learning for the design of CO2 pipelines, and the specific application of the learning to the planned National Grid Carbon CO2 network in the Humber and North Yorkshire area of the UK.

Full text
Abstract:
During the outbreak of COVID-19, Wuhan had been first imposed lockdown measures from January 23 to April 8, 2020. After that, no new cases emerged from Hubei Province, and China achieved the first-staged victory in containing the epidemic. As the COVID-19 became a pandemic, Wuhan lockdown has inspired countries around the world. Under the framework of China’s public health system and urban space, this paper combines the data on responses in global affected areas, analyzes the global influence and inspirations of Wuhan lockdown, and compares and contrasts lockdowns and the compound systems in virus epicenter metropolitan areas in China with those in US, Italy and Japan. Finally, the paper proposes a new perspective of "Isolation of metropolitan areas" under the region-city-community networks, to discuss how to create a sustainable and healthy life for mankind by cooperation among the public health system, urban space and social value.

Cosham, Andrew, David G. Jones, Keith Armstrong, Daniel Allason, and Julian Barnett. "Analysis of a Dense Phase Carbon Dioxide Full-Scale Fracture Propagation Test in 24 Inch Diameter Pipe." In 2016 11th International Pipeline Conference. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2016. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/ipc2016-64456.

Full text
Abstract:
A third full-scale fracture propagation test has been conducted using a dense phase carbon dioxide (CO2)-rich mixture (approximately 10 mole percent of non-condensables), at the DNV GL Spadeadam Test & Research Centre, Cumbria, UK, on behalf of National Grid, UK. The first and second tests, in 914 mm (36 inch) outside diameter pipe, also conducted at the Spadeadam Test & Research Centre, showed that predictions made using the Two Curve Model and the (notionally conservative) Wilkowski et al., 1977 correction factor were incorrect and non-conservative. An additional correction was required in order to conservatively predict the results of the two tests. A third full-scale test was necessary to evaluate the fracture arrest capability of the line pipe for the proposed 610 mm (24 inch) outside diameter Yorkshire and Humber CCS Cross-Country Pipeline, because the predictions of the first and second tests were non-conservative, and it was unclear if and how the results of these tests could be extrapolated to a different diameter and wall thickness. The third test was designed to be representative of the proposed cross-country pipeline, both in terms of the grade and geometry of the pipe, and the operating conditions. The test section consisted of seven lengths of pipe: an initiation pipe and then, on either side of the initiation pipe, one transition pipe and two production pipes. The (in total) four production pipes are representative of the type of line pipe that would be used in the proposed cross-country pipeline. A running ductile fracture was successfully initiated; it propagated through the transition pipes on both sides, and then rapidly arrested in the production pipes. The result of the test demonstrates that a running ductile fracture would arrest in the proposed Yorkshire and Humber CCS Cross-Country Pipeline. The main experimental data, including the layout of the test section, and the decompression and timing wire data, are summarised and discussed. Furthermore, the implications of the three tests, in two different pipe geometries, for setting toughness requirements for pipelines transporting CO2-rich mixtures in the dense phase are considered.

Abstract:
BackgroundCare recipients in care and welfare are increasingly presenting themselves with complex needs (Huber et al., 2016). An answer to this is the integrated organization of care and welfare in a way that personalized care is the measure (Topol, 2016). The reality, however, is that care and welfare are still mainly offered in a standardized, specialized and fragmented way. This imbalance between the need for care and the supply of care not only leads to under-treatment and over-treatment and thus to less (experienced) quality, but also entails the risk of mis-treatment, which means that patient safety is at stake (Berwick, 2005). It also leads to a reduction in the functioning of citizens and unnecessary healthcare cost (Olsson et al, 2009).Integrated CareIntegrated care is the by fellow human beings experienced smooth process of effective help, care and service provided by various disciplines in the zero line, the first line, the second line and the third line in healthcare and welfare, as close as possible (Ettema et al, 2018; Goodwin et al, 2015). Integrated care starts with an extensive assessment with the care recipient. Then the required care and services in the zero line, the first line, the second line and / or the third line are coordinated between different care providers. Abstract:
National Grid, in the United Kingdom (UK), has extensive experience in the management and execution of under pressure operations on its natural gas pipelines. These under pressure operations include welding, ‘hot tap’ and ‘stopple’ operations, and the installation of sleeve repairs. National Grid Carbon is pursuing plans to develop a pipeline network in the Humber and North Yorkshire areas of the UK to transport dense phase Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from major industrial emitters in the area to saline aquifers off the Yorkshire coast. One of the issues that needed to be resolved is the requirement to modify and/or repair dense phase CO2 pipeline system. Existing under pressure experience and procedures for natural gas systems have been proven to be applicable for gaseous phase CO2 pipelines; however, dense phase CO2 pipeline systems require further consideration due to their higher pressures and different phase behaviour. Consequently, there is a need to develop procedures and define requirements for dense phase CO2 pipelines. This development required an experimental programme of under pressure welding trials using a flow loop to simulate real dense phase CO2 pipeline operating conditions. This paper describes the experiments which involved: • Heat decay trials which demonstrated that the practical limitation for under pressure welding on dense phase CO2 systems will be maintaining a sufficient level of heat to achieve the cooling time from 250 °C to 150 °C (T250–150) above the generally accepted 40 second limit. • A successful welding qualification trial with a welded full encirclement split sleeve arrangement. The work found that for the same pipe wall thickness, flow velocity and pressure, dense phase CO2 has the fastest cooling time when compared with gaseous phase CO2 and natural gas. The major practical conclusion of the study is that for dense phase CO2 pipelines with a wall thickness of 19.0 mm or above, safe and practical under pressure welding is possible in accordance with the existing National Grid specification (i.e. T/SP/P/9) up to a flow velocity of around 0.9 m/s. The paper also outlines the work conducted into the use of the Manual Phased Array (MPA) inspection technique on under pressure welding applications. Finally, the paper identifies and considers the additional development work needed to ensure that a comprehensive suite of under pressure operations and procedures are available for the pipeline operator.

Abstract:
Corporate social responsibility is one of the activities that goes beyond philanthropy, based on volunteerism in line with the responsibilities of enterprises towards society. This concept, which offers businesses the opportunity to look after and develop their brand image in the eyes of society, has become a necessity, not a choice, especially in today's world. In order to meet social expectations, the effectiveness of static and dynamic advertising messages implemented in all social benefit-based studies for human development such as environment, health and education is very important in terms of ensuring audience communication. In the second half of 2019, people were confined to homes and life came to a standstill all over the world in order to reduce and prevent the impact of the pandemic within the scope of the “New Type Corona Virus” (COVID-19) measures, which are from the sars-cov-2 coronavirus family, which is spreading rapidly globally starting from Wohan, Hubei Province, China. As a basic protection module for humanity against corona virus, it has incorporated the concept of social distancing into their lives in order to reduce the contact of staying at home and increasing hygiene, except in mandatory situations. During this extraordinary period, many brands on a global scale have included the concept of “social distance” in their advertising messages with the awareness of corporate social responsibility and have started to inform and educate the community about this issue by emphasizing the importance of the process. Within the scope of this research, advertising designs prepared by brands acting with corporate social responsibility awareness through the concept of social distancing during the Pandemic period were discussed and how the meaning structures behind the messages were created and transmitted. The research is limited to 3 (three) advertising designs determined by the 'judicial sampling' method (selective method). In the sample of the study, advertising narratives of brands in different sectors were explained in general framework and similar and different aspects of messages were uncovered by performing comparative analysis between messages in line with the findings obtained from the narratives. In this context, it was determined that the contrasts of “pessimism and optimism, hope and despair, happiness and unhappiness, death and life, strong and powerless, youth and old age, unity/togetherness and separation, struggle and defeat, nature and culture” were constructed as the main discourse.

Abstract:
