Heyse & Erpenbeck (2009) define counselling competence very broadly as the ability to counsel people and organisations. This requires for teachers an extensive knowledge of content, social-emotional competence and solution-oriented thinking. In this context, the article focuses on the one hand on the location of the legal basis for teacher training in higher education in the context of counselling competence and how counselling skills can be improved to avoid conflicts in the classroom. On the other hand it describes the handling and use of counselling skills in everyday school life based on the results of focus group discussions within the Erasmus+ project SEEVAL.

Abstract:
This cross cultural study has tried to correlate the influence of moral intensity on ethical decision making, for instance on the stage of moral awareness. The phenomenon is interesting to investigate more because there is a difference between individualism culture and collectivism culture in ethical decision making, especially in the correlation of moral intensity components that influence ethical decision making process (Heyler, Armenakis, Walker, & Collier, 2016; McMahon & Harvey, 2007; Saat, Yusoff, & Panatik, 2014; Singh, Vitell, Al-Khatib, & Clark, 2007). Planned behavior theory stated that an individu make a decision based on individual ability to control his or her decision, this theory has been applied in individualism culture (Ajzen, 1991). In other hand, collectivism culture has a different finding with planned behavior theory. An individu in collectivism culture tend to make a decision ethically based on social group control (Ashkanasy, Windsor, & Trevino, 2006; Saat et al., 2014). The different findings on both culture is interesting to discuss more, in order to understand how Indonesian employee as a collectivism culture, and to determine the right ethical training approach for them.

Abstract:
U–Pb dating was carried out on nine volcanic rocks and two felsic intrusions from the Red Lake greenstone belt in order to establish an absolute time framework for the magmatic evolution of the area and yield first indications on the time of deformation and gold mineralization. The data indicate a protracted period of igneous activity spanning at least 270 Ma. Felsic volcanic rocks near the top of the tholeiitic to komatiitic sequence in the eastern part of the belt yield ages of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. A third unit, dated at [Formula: see text], contains inherited zircons older than 2982 Ma, which casts some uncertainty on the validity of the inferred intercept age. Rocks in the western part of the belt, previously believed to form a relatively young calc-alkalic sequence but now known to be dominantly tholeiitic, are shown to be relatively old, with ages of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. These two dates also bracket the age of stromatolites occurring in chemical sediments that are under and overlain by the dated units.Another volcanic horizon in the centre of the belt is dated at 2830 ± 15 Ma, and calc-alkaline volcanic sequences on the southern and northern flanks of the belt yield ages of 2739.0 ± 3.0 and [Formula: see text], respectively. An age of [Formula: see text] was determined for tholeiitic pyroclastic rocks near the base of the predominantly calc-alkaline Heyson sequence. The major gold deposits of the Red Lake belt appear to be present dominantly within older supracrustal sequences. On the other hand, they are also associated with late deformation zones that postdate the intrusion of the Dome Stock dated at 2718.2 ± 1.1 Ma ago. The time of an earlier folding event is bracketed by this age and by the age of [Formula: see text] for an isoclinally folded felsic dike.

Abstract:
Introduction. In scientific literature dedicated to J. Brahms, much attention has been paid to a song genre. The researches note that J. Brahms’s songs can be regarded as a continuation of genre-specific features of Austro-German Lied, which retains the purity of the generic semantics in the composer’s works, without involving typically operatic means of vocal intoning, or approaching the so-called “poem with music”. J. Brahms’s songs do not allow the singer to demonstrate the full range of his/her voice, to reveal his/her artistic temperament, to show the technical skill. Absorption in a special emotional aura of J. Brahms’s songs requires a variety of timbre-intonational resources of a singer, his/her ability not to lose the sense of the whole while detailing the melodious overture. Of particular interest is the issue of music and words correlation in J. Brahms’s songs. As a rule, the composer is considered to be the immediate successor of F. Schubert rather than R. Schuman in his orientation to musical embodiment of a generalized poetic image. At the same time, this issue requires more detailed study, since the composer was very sensitive to the poetic text, in particular, from the point of view of coordinating the intonation-phonetic features of German language and vocal intonation. Theoretical Background. Recent research and publications analysis. Opus 49 by J. Brahms seems to be in the shadow of musicological thought and performing practice. It should be noted that a very famous opus part is “Lullaby”, which is mentioned in the monographs of K. Tsareva (1986), M. Druskin (1959), and K. Geiringer (1965). In the literature being considered the abovementioned opus is not completely covered, thus determining the relevance of our article. There are references to individual songs in different sources, but incidentally, in the context of different issues. Objective is to study J. Brahms’s opus 49 in the aspect of the interaction of poetic word and music, verbal and musical intoning. Methods: 1) historical method, allowing to comprehend the selected material in the perspective of the development of Austro-German song of the XIX century; 2) intonational method, which involves the study of vocal melody in terms of phonetic-tonic links; 3) genre method, caused by the features of chamber vocal lyrics; 4) stylistic method, corresponding to a specific opus consideration in the general context of the composer’s creative work. Results and Discussion. The composer did not have any tendency to the songs cyclization, however, the vocal miniatures, assembled in one opus, appear to be lyrical notes, self-contained but united by poetic motives and nature of the author’s expression. Many researchers see a cyclic organization of his particular vocal opuses. For example, I. Mykhailov (1987: 19) proves the existence of cyclic principles at different compositional levels in composer’s songs: separate “melodious pairs”, a number of songs with the texts by one poet inside the opus, a whole vocal opus with the texts by different authors. According to I. Mikhailov, the cyclic connection of songs is emphasized by several compositional techniques: thematic one, i.e. the unity of the musical material; the continuity of songs alternation, which is sometimes manifested in the absence of a piano introduction of the next song. In opus 49, the author chooses different poetic sources – poems by P. Heyse, L. Hölty, A. F. Schack, and J. Wenzig. The composer refers to one of the samples of the famous collection by Joachim von Arnim and Clemens Brentano “The Magic Horn of a Boy”. Given the anthological principle of poetic texts selection, no transparent storyline in opus 49, such as “A Beautiful Miller” by F. Schubert or “Poet’s Love” by R. Schumann, there is no reason to regard it as a cycle. However, the opus’ songs are arranged in a certain semantic sequence. Owing to the fact that three songs (“Sunday Morning”, “To a Violet”, “Longing for the Sweetheart”) are united by homogeneous poetic motifs, one can regard them as forming a microcycle within the whole. The second micro-cycle of the opus is represented by No. 4 and No. 5 (“Lullaby” and “Twilight”). In interpreting the poetic text, J. Brahms adheres to the principle of emotional and musical generality, once detailing the text, if at all. Here, he succeeds F. Schubert. However, he uses the technique of keywords, distinguishing them in two ways: rhythmically (with syncope) and through intrinsic chants; the composer also uses different types of intoning. Following the tradition of the 19th-century Austro-German song, the composer regards the genre as an alliance of two full members: the vocalist and the pianist, with the part being an instrumental generalization. The intonational image of the whole in vocal music arises at the crossing of two texts – poetic and musical. German has intonation difficulties owing to a large number of consonants. Problems, encountered by the singers in intoning German language, are compensated by the consonants and vowels, which are most favorable for correct sound formation, allowing to achieve the required quality. The soft consonants and vowels should be regarded as the ideal vocal sound, that is, a model for other phonemes in musical-poetic text. While creating vocal melodies of Opus 49 songs, J. Brahms cares the phonetics of a German text in the singing to be comfortable for the performer. Conclusions. J. Brahms uses such principles and techniques of literary original musical embodiment as preservation of the holistic image, created by the author of the poems, on the one hand, and its detailing on the other. In the second case, the composer resorts to all means of musical expression: motive-thematic, texture-register, rhythmic, harmonious, texture ones. The prospects of the research lie in studying the interaction of verbal and musical intonation in other vocal works of J. Brahms, as well as in chamber-vocal music of late romantics.

Abstract:
AbstractThere is evidence linking hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) to gut microbiota dysbiosis, and this relationship was corroborated in a large HFMD patient population in our previous study. Here, we present a bacterial 16S rRNA gene dataset from faecal samples of 713 individuals (254 HFMD patients, 459 healthy controls) aged 2 to 7 years residing in Heyuan and Jiangmen counties, Guangdong Province, southern China. Microbiome analysis indicated a significant increase in genus Prevotella, Cetobacterium, and Megamonas was observed in patients with HFMD, whereas a large increase in genus Bacteroides, Ruminococcus, and Faecalibacterium were seen in the control group. We also share the bioinformatic analytical pipeline for this analysis, from data preprocessing to data filtering and amplicon sequence variant (ASV) table generation. We expect that the dataset will be reprocessed, evaluated and fully analysed with various analysis methods to further elucidate the role of the gut microbiota in HFMD development.

Body, Ralph Mark. "Behind the Scenes: Hans Heysen’s Art World Networks." Thesis, 2019. http://hdl.handle.net/2440/120159.

Full text
Abstract:
The artist Hans Heysen is closely associated with the South Australian regional environment, which featured as the subject matter of his most celebrated works. At the same time, however, he also rapidly established a national reputation, achieving critical and commercial success in the interstate art worlds of Melbourne and Sydney. This dissertation investigates the significant role of Heysen’s art world networks in establishing, shaping and maintaining his career and reputation. Most of the existing scholarship on Heysen has either been biographical or concerned with analysing the style and subject matter of his paintings. While previous authors have alluded to the importance of his networks, these have not been their central focus of study. Similarly, Heysen’s ties to the urban Australian art worlds where his works were exhibited, reviewed and sold have been little researched. Heysen’s networks encompassed fellow artists, art critics, publishers, dealers, collectors and museum trustees and directors. Due to his geographical isolation written correspondence played an essential role in his long-distance career management, with the letters he exchanged providing valuable insights into the importance of his networks. Consequently, this dissertation has involved intensive archival research, cross-referencing the archives of Heysen and his correspondents, together with studying historic exhibition catalogues, art magazines and published reviews. The interpretation of this material has been informed by two complementary conceptual frameworks. The first is Howard Becker’s conceptualisation of art (and art world success) as the product of collaborative activity. This has been utilised when analysing the specific operations of Heysen’s networks. The second is Pierre Bourdieu’s notion of a ‘Field of Cultural Production,’ a metaphorical, changing space in which cultural agents compete for symbolic capital. These ideas have been employed to examine the structure of the Australian art world and the construction of reputation. This research demonstrates the essential role of Heysen’s art world networks in representing and advancing his interests. The support of key associates enabled Heysen to withstand the threats to his career presented by anti-German sentiments during the First World War, the impact of the Depression on the art market and the ascendency of modernism. While he generally benefited from his networks, the entrenched conservatism or overt commercial concerns of some of Heysen’s associates proved detrimental to his reputation. This dissertation shows that while Heysen’s traditionalist style and subject matter did not change dramatically over the course of his lengthy career, there were considerable shifts in the way in which he displayed, promoted and sold his works which reflected broader changes in the Australian art world. Similarly, perceptions of Heysen progressed from regarding him as an innovator in the Edwardian period, to an establishment figure during the interwar decades and finally as the last representative of a past generation. Heysen is shown to have been a strategically-minded professional who closely monitored both his own critical fortunes and those of other Australian artists.

Abstract:
This chapter examines Tom Cipullo’s Long Island Songs (2005). Cipullo’s Italian-American heritage, combined with a family background in jazz, makes for a potently individual brand of unabashed romanticism. His intimate understanding of the voice has enabled him to mine a vein of luxuriant lyricism without exceeding bounds of taste. His harmonies are richly sensual and the music flows freely through constantly changing metres, capturing fluctuating moods effortlessly. Arching phrases exploit the voice’s full capacity and highlight the sensuousness of language and timbre. These texts by William Heyen, set with meticulous care, prove to be ideal vehicles for his musical vision. Every nuance is calibrated, yet the effect is entirely spontaneous. One is sometimes reminded of the great French song composers, such as Debussy, in the use of sudden tender, floated pianissimi.

Abstract:
In our paper we present first performance measurement results of a digital simulation laboratory, which is applied in the context of industrial front-end team training. The design of the simulation laboratory is oriented towards an Escape Room. First, we situate the presented approach within existing competency understandings and accompanying training approaches in the context of Industry 4.0 Performance measurement for front-end training has been a challenge in this context so far, since performance, unlike in the back-end, is not attributable to specific production results, but becomes visible on a superior process level. Building on the competency facets of complexity management, self-reflection, creative problem solving, and cooperation (Wilkens et al., 2017) as well as action implementation (Heyse & Erpenbeck, 2009), the performance measurement presented addresses the question which individual competencies have an impact on team performance in the simulation scenario. Preliminary results show that the individual competencies among team members have a lower impact on performance than moderating factors such as heterogeneity and cohesion within the team. In order to increase the performance of front-end teams, it therefore appears to be reasonable to focus more on developing team structures rather than only on individual competence development.

Abstract:
Microbusiness, a possible way to solve the problem of unemployment in eastern Europe? Regarding the topic of microbusiness, an ancient day which has been around for centuries now, many people have in fact seen them as the “go-to” way as to solve problems of general unemployment which has plagiarized most of the world today. The general idea of microbusiness goes as: if one can’t find a desired position, one should indeed strive and their best to create it. However, this has proven itself on numerous occasions that it was much easier said than done, as starting a microbusiness does yield numerous risks of its own, with the major one being falling into bankruptcy as well as inadvertently falling into a legal affair. (Heyes, 2019) The former has indeed proven itself to be much more of a general danger for those who engage in this idea unprepared, while the latter might prove itself to be signifying a greater danger for those business which survive the initial stage which may last for a few months up to a few years at the time.

Abstract:
Violence at sports events, particularly in football matches, has been for a long time serious problem for all European countries taking various forms with evident tendency of relocating from inside the stadium to surrounding areas including wider urban environment. As a direct reaction to the tragic events at Heysel in 1985 and as the European institutional response to the problem of sports hooligans, the European Convention on Spectator Violence and Misbehaviour at Sports Events and in particular at Football Matches was adopted within the Council of Europe. The Convention has come into force on the 1st November 1985 and since then it has been ratified by 42 Member States (CETS No. 120). Ugly scenes in sports arenas throughout Europe over the past decades has shown that the content of this Convention is inconsistent and, in some respects, contradictory to the approach and good practice that has been established in many European countries for the past several years. That is why it was decided in 2013 to amend the Convention from 1985 and in 2016 the Council of Europe adopted the Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events which has come into force on 1st November 2017 (CETS No. 218). This Convention completely replaces the European Convention on Spectator Violence and Misbehaviour at Sports Events and in particular at Football Matches. One of the main characteristics of the Convention is the integrated approach of all involved actors and stakeholders in the fight against violence and misbehaviour in sports arenas, based on three interdependent pillars: safety, security and services. In his paper the author analyses key features and solutions from the Convention No. 218 including the Recommendation Rec (2015) 1 of the Standing Committee on Safety, Security and Service at Football Matches and other Sports Events taking into account the Convention No. 120 referred to in the preamble of the Convention No. 218. Furthermore, the author points to the need and importance of signing and ratifying this Convention for the Republic of Serbia.

Abstract:
Anyone who stood on the bridge over the Río Guacimal at Monteverde on a wet-season night in the early 1980s would understand Archie Carr’s sentiments. Nearly 300 male Fleischmann’s Glass Frogs (Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni) defended territories along a 120-m section of the stream, and their loud, incessant “peeps” filled the air. In the late 1980s, however, this chorus all but fell silent as the number of glass frogs plummeted. The population has not recovered. In 1998, only a single male could be heard from the bridge. The dramatic reduction in glass frogs was part of a larger decline of Monteverde’s amphibians. A sudden crash of populations in 1987 affected species throughout the area and led to the disappearance of many (Pounds 1990, 1991a, 1997, Crump et al. 1992, Pounds and Crump 1994, Pounds and Fogden 1996, Pounds et al. 1997). The disappearance that has drawn the most attention, however, is that of the Golden Toad (Bufo periglenes). This species, known only from elfin cloud forest high on the ridgetops at Monteverde, is famous for its striking appearance and the colorful spectacle of its breeding congregations (Savage 1966, Jacobson 1983, Fogden and Fogden 1984, Jacobson and Vandenberg 1991; see Savage, “Discovery of the Golden Toad,”. Because the Golden Toad had been locally abundant in seemingly undisturbed habitats for at least 17 consecutive years, its sudden disappearance caused great alarm and dismay (Pounds et al. 1997). Interest in this case has intensified with the suggestion that it is part of a global pattern (Barinaga 1990, Blaustein and Wake 1990, 1995, Phillips 1990, 1994, Wyman 1990, Wake 1991, Wake and Morowitz 1991, Sarkar 1996; see Pounds, “Monteverde Salamanders,”). Many similar declines and disappearances have been reported for highland areas of other continents (Corn and Fogleman 1984, Heyer et al. 1988, Osborne 1989, Weygoldt 1989, Czechura and Ingram 1990, La Marca and Reinthaler 1991, Carey 1993, Fellers and Drost 1993, Kagarise Sherman and Morton 1993, Drost and Fellers 1996, Laurance et al.

Abstract:
Since the 1950s, academic and researchers have examined artificial intelligence and the use of computers for assistance with, or automation of, data collection (Schatz & Browndyke, 2002). In the ensuing 60+ years, considerable technological growth has occurred. Perhaps most influential in the field of clinical psychology was the introduction of the personal computer in the 1980s, which allowed individuals to have computing devices in the home and/ or office. Over the past 30 years, the percentage of U.S. households with a computer has dramatically increased, from 8.2% in 1984, to 42% in 1998, to 52% in 2000, to 84% in 2013 (File & Ryan, 2014; Newburger, 2001). As of 2014, approximately 50% of households have a tablet device (such as an iPad) or an e-reader (such as a Kindle or Nook) and approximately 28% of adults age 18 and older have read an e-book in the past year (up from 17% in 2011) (Zickuhr & Rainie, 2014). However, despite widespread ownership of computing devices, in clinical practice, use of technology is not as commonplace. While the vast majority of clinical psychologists have used e-mail or Internet searches in their clinical practice, in a 2009 survey, only 47% had used computerized test administration software, 60% had used a computerized test-scoring software, and 54% had used a computerized test interpretation software (McMinn, Bearse, Heyne, Smithberg, & Erb, 2011), and only 20% (test administration), 29% (test scoring), and 22% (test interpretation) had used these technologies “fairly often” or “very often.” Even as recently as 2009, in a report of an American Psychological Association (APA) Presidential Task Force on Technology, discussion of the role of technology in the future of psychology practice was limited to the use of electronic health records (in the context of documenting service delivery and reimbursement), expanding ways for streamlining assessments and service delivery, and training psychologists to use and integrate technologies (APA, 2009).

Abstract:
Glaucoma is a general term for the deterioration of the optic nerve head usually associated with an increase of intraocular pressure (IOP). Certain types of glaucoma are associated directly with the displacement of the iris from its normal morphology [1]. For example, angle closure glaucoma and pigment dispersion syndrome involve abnormal anterior or posterior displacement of the iris, respectively [2]. In angle closure, the abnormal position of the peripheral iris blocks aqueous humor access to the outflow pathway (trabecular meshwork), increasing the IOP. Although there has been a considerable amount of ultrastructural characterization of the iris [3], to our knowledge, there as been little done on the mechanical characterization of the iris other than a previous study by Heys and Barocas on passive bovine irides [4]. To have a complete understanding of these it requires that we understand the mechanical properties of the iris in both its passive and stimulated states. Mechanical analysis of the iris requires the consideration of its two constituent muscles, the inner sphincter iridis and the outer dilator pupillae, see Fig. 1. The sphincter iridis is innervated parasympathetically whereas the dilator is innervated sympathetically.
