Abstract:
En 1964, tras más de 20 años viviendo en Amsterdam con su familia, Aldo van Eyck se traslada a Loenen aan de Vecht. Meses antes había adquirido una construcción modesta, de unos 200 metros cuadrados repartidos en dos plantas y un desván, construida en el siglo XVII y remodelada en el XVIII. La suya será la tercera transformación de un edificio, protegido actualmente como monumento, para convertirlo en una vivienda en la que, junto a Hannie, vivió hasta 1999. La casa de Loenen ha permanecido hasta hoy inédita y sin publicar, como el único proyecto de Van Eyck ocupado por él mismo como proceso permanente durante 35 años: una casa que no es más que una casa. Esta tesis toma el proyecto como objeto de estudio, intentando fijar la casa como casa antes de su desaparición y simultáneamente abrir la casa como libro publicado para sucesivas lecturas e interpretaciones. Esto significa que el trabajo resulta en una suma de tres esfuerzos. El primero que documenta, levanta, cataloga, fotografía, graba y archiva la materia física que conforma la casa para poner todo el material a disposición del que quiera visitarla virtualmente. El segundo que entrevista, conversa, escucha, comprende a sus habitantes y sus preocupaciones para recoger la casa que aún queda, comprendiendo la importancia de lo cotidiano en la reconstrucción del hogar. El tercero que lanza una interpretación sobre el material elaborado, que lo ordena según una mirada intencional, que vuelve a proyectar la casa para descubrir el proceso de generación de la obra, para hacerla legible al público. En definitiva, la investigación propone una larga estancia en interior de la casa de Loenen aan de Vecht. A través de ella, de la colección de arte vernáculo, la biblioteca, las maquetas, las pinturas de vanguardia, las fotografías del archivo; la tesis se asoma al museo imaginario de Aldo van Eyck. Al fin y al cabo, la historia de un hombre es un largo rodeo alrededor de su casa.
In 1964, after more than 20 years living in Amsterdam with his family, Aldo van Eyck moved to Loenen aan de Vecht. Months before they had acquired a modest construction, about 200 square meters spread over two floors and an attic, built in the seventeenth century and refurbished in the eighteenth. His will be the third transformation of a building, currently protected as a rijksmonument, to turn it into a house in which he and Hannie lived until 1999. The house has remained unpublished and unknown, as the last place lived by the Van Eyck's family, inhabited as a permanent process, for 35 years: a house that's just a house. This thesis takes the project as an object of study, trying to record the house as a house before its disappearance and simultaneously to open it as a published material for successive readings and interpretations. This means that the research results in a sum of three efforts. The first one that documents, raises, catalogs, photographs, records and archives the physical reality of the house to provide all the material to those who want to visit it virtually. The second that interviews, talks, listens, understands its inhabitants and their concerns to capture the house that still remains, understanding the importance of the everydayness in the making of a home. And the third that performs an interpretation based on the data collection, which orders the documents according to an intentional gaze, which designs the house from scratch to discover its generation process, to make it readable to the public. In short, this research proposes a long stay inside the house in Loenen aan de Vecht. From its insides, from the collection of vernacular art, the library, the architectural models, the avant-garde paintings, the photographs of the archive; the thesis builds Aldo van Eyck's musée imaginaire. After all, a man's story is a long detour around his house.
En 1964, després de més de 20 anys vivint a Amsterdam amb la seua família , Aldo Van Eyck es trasllada a Loenen aan de Vecht. Mesos abans havia adquirit una construcció modesta, de uns 200 metres quadrats repartits en dos plantes i una cambra, construïda en el segle XVII i remodelada en el XVIII. La seua era la tercera transformació d'un edifici, protegit actualment com a monument, per a convertir-ho en un habitatge on, junt a Hannie, visqué fins 1999. La casa de Loenen ha romàs fins hui inèdita i sense publicar, com l'únic projecte de Van Eyck ocupat per ell mateix com a procés permanent durant 35 anys: una casa que no es més que una casa. Esta tesi pren el projecte com a subjecte d'estudi, intentant fixar la casa com a casa abans de la seua desaparició i al mateix temps obrir la casa com a llibre publicat per a successives lectures i interpretacions. Açò significa que el treball resulta en una suma de tres esforços. El primer que documenta, alça, cataloga, fotografia, grava i arxiva la matèria física que conforma la casa per a posar tot el material a la disposició de qui vullga visitar-la virtualment. El segon que entrevista, conversa, escolta, comprén als seus habitants i les seues preocupacions per a recollir la casa que encara queda, comprenent la importància d'allò quotidià en la reconstrucció del llar. El tercer que llança una interpretació sobre el material elaborat, que l'ordena segons la mirada internacional, que torna a projectar la casa per a descobrir el procés de generació de l'obra, per a fer-la llegible al públic. En definitiva, la investigació proposa una llarga estància a l'interior de la casa de Loenen aan de Vecht. A través d'ella, de la col·lecció d'art vernacle, la biblioteca, les maquetes, les pintures de vanguardia, les fotografies de l'arxiu; la tesis aguaita el museu imaginari de Aldo Van Eyck. Al cap i a la fi, la història d'un home es una llarga volta entorn a sa casa.

Abstract:
El tema de la tesis se centra en el pensamiento filosófico-político de Hannah Arendt (1906-1975). De acuerdo con los objetivos, se ofrece una investigación filosófica que pretende constituirse en un aporte que, en su calidad de lectura hermenéutica e histórico-crítica, muestra, en el recorrido de una selección de reconocidos textos de la autora judía, el anclaje de sus reflexiones en una particular concepción del tiempo y de la historia que sitúa a la vez que resignifica sus categorías analíticas de pensamiento filosófico-político. El desarrollo interpretativo vincula de forma dialógica el pensamiento de la autora con su época y su propia vida; por esto, a lo largo del texto también se reconstruye el entramado de relaciones sociales e intelectuales que dan cuenta de preocupaciones comunes y afinidades temáticas entre Arendt y sus coetáneos. Con la obra de Arendt, pensadora política e independiente, tal como ella se llamó a sí misma, se interviene en el debate filosófico contemporáneo del siglo XX con la tradición, especialmente europea de origen grecorromano y se presta atención a los cruces críticos y dialógicos con filósofos,políticos, religiosos e intelectuales de diferentes épocas, como Platón, Aristóteles, Pablo de Tarso, San Agustín, Thomas Hobbes, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant, Georg W. F. Hegel, Theodor Lessing, Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche, Franz Kafka, Karl Jaspers, Martín Heidegger o Walter Benjamin. Esta tesis ofrece una lectura hermenéutica y crítica de textos seleccionados, a través de los cuales se explora la configuración conceptual de la problemática del tiempo y de la historia, apuntando los modos en que ésta delinea un contexto de comprensión de su pensamiento filosófico-político.

A presente dissertação é uma intro-dução à obra de Hannah Arendt. Seu objetivo é determinar os principais conceitos enunciados pela autora, tendo como ponto de partida o evento totalitário e a provável resposta de Arendt a este acontecimento: a condição humana. Com base nessa resposta analisa-se o julgamento de Adolf Eichmann e o seu significado para a obra da autora. Naquele julgamento apareceram três questões fundamentais: a dificuldade dos juízes julgarem um caso sem precedentes; a consciência de Eichmann; e o fenômeno da banalidade do mal. Tais questões representavam problemas que Arendt já havia abordado. Eles podem ser sintetizados no problema do mal e na problemática separação entre pensamento e ação, que está no início da Tradição ocidental. Para respondê-los é que se analisa as características do pensamento e sua relação com o julgamento, compreendendo-se que a banalidade do mal se relaciona com a incapacidade de pensar, e que é o julgar que estabelece a ponte entre pensamento e ação. Por fim, determina-se o que é ação para Hannah Arendt, concluindo-se que para a autora ação e liberdade são a mesma coisa, o que traz vários questionamentos, uma vez que a Tradição relaciona a liberdade com a faculdade da Vontade, sendo esta uma das suas relações mais perniciosas.

Abstract:
O objetivo desta pesquisa é examinar o conceito de liberdade no pensamento de Hannah Arendt. Para tanto, inicio este estudo com o ensaio Que é liberdade?. Nele a autora apresenta a liberdade como pertencente ao domínio da política e recusa a noção de liberdade cristã e liberal, isto é, nega a liberdade como livre arbítrio e como área de não interferência. Embora este seja o principal texto da autora sobre o tema, ele não é suficiente para se entender todas as dimensões de seu conceito de liberdade. Nesse sentido, é preciso recorrer a outros textos da autora, como o livro A Condição Humana. Nesta obra, Arendt analisa como o trabalho e as questões econômicas foram valorizados na Modernidade, trazendo sérias dificuldades para o exercício da ação livre. Ainda, em Origens do Totalitarismo, a autora apresenta a radicalidade da experiência totalitária. De acordo com ela, os regimes totalitários contribuíram para reforçar a idéia de que a liberdade não é vivenciada no domínio político. A despeito disso, Arendt afirma a ligação entre ser livre e agir no domínio político analisando a experiência da Democracia Ateniense, da República Romana e das revoluções modernas. Ela escreve Sobre a Revolução para tratar do aparecimento da liberdade na Modernidade e das dificuldades de se fundar e conferir durabilidade a espaços onde a ação livre seja possível. Ao longo da exposição das principais obras da autora, apresento diversas manifestações do conceito de liberdade, assim como as relações entre este conceito, o pensamento político arendtiano e a tradição filosófica. Dessa forma, ao fim da dissertação, retomo tais manifestações e relações para interpretar a concepção de liberdade em Hannah Arendt como um conceito multifacetado.
This research aims at examining the concept of freedom in Hannah Arendts thought. For this reason, I start this study with the essay What is Freedom?. In this text, the author presents freedom as belonging to political domain and refuses the Christian and liberal notion of freedom. That is, she denies freedom as free will or absence of constraints. Even though this is the authors most important text on the subject, it is not enough to understand all the properties of her concept of freedom. Therefore, we have to search for other author´s texts, like the book The Human Condition. In this book, Arendt analyses how work and economic issues were valued in the Modernity, bringing serious trouble to free acting. Yet, in The Origins of Totalitarianism, the author shows the radicalism of the totalitarian experience. According to her, the totalitarian regime contributed to amplify the idea that freedom is not experienced in the political realm. In spite of this, Arendt affirms the connection between freedom and acting in a public scene based in the experiences of the Athenian Democracy, the Roman Republic and the modernity revolutions. She writes On Revolution to treat the freedom´s emergence in the Modernity and to show the hardness of founding and giving durability to the area where the free action is possible. I manifest throughout this dissertation several characteristics of the freedom concept, such as the relationship between this concept and Arendt´s political thought and between it and the philosophical tradition. Therefore, in the end of the text I resume this characteristics and relationship in order to interpret Arendt´s concept of freedom as a multifaceted conception.

In 1993 with the establishment of the Nazis regime in Germany, Hannah Arendt joined the Zionism to face the totalitarian regime. Yet in 1933, fleeing from persecutions against Jews, she went to Paris and after that to the United States of America (place where she established her new residence later). In the 60’s Arendt returned to Jerusalem as a reporter to cover the judgment of the Nazi’s ex-bureaucrat, Adolf Eichmann, found by the secret police of Israel living in Argentina. On this occasion, as the correspondent of the North-American magazine The New Yorker, she published her impressions about the judgment. Thereafter, her articles are reunited and published it the book Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil. This dissertation work aims to solve the complexity which involved the elaboration of these texts, taking into consideration the relation of Hannah Arendt with the Zionists, as well as the categories and concepts previously presented in her works, which oriented her reflection during the judgment. In order to accomplish this comprehensive exercise, a dialogue was established between Eichmann in Jerusalem and other works as The Origins of Totalitarianism, as well as other articles and texts of Hannah Arendt.
Em 1933, com o estabelecimento do regime nazista na Alemanha, Hannah Arendt se filiou ao sionismo para enfrentar o regime totalitário. No mesmo ano, fugindo de perseguições contra os judeus, ela segue para Paris e, posteriormente, para os Estados Unidos da América, onde estabeleceu nova residência. Na década de 1960, Arendt vai para Jerusalém como repórter para cobrir o julgamento do ex-burocrata nazista, Adolf Eichmann, encontrado pela polícia secreta de Israel vivendo na Argentina. Nesta ocasião, trabalhacomo correspondente da revista norte-americana The New Yorker, onde publica seus artigos sobre o julgamento. Futuramente, esses artigos seriam reunidos e publicados no livro Eichmann em Jerusalém: um relato sobre a banalidade do mal. Esta dissertação procura analisar a elaboração destes textos, levando em consideração a relação de Hannah Arendt com os sionistas, assim como as categorias e conceitos que nortearam sua reflexão durante o julgamento. Para a realização desse objetivo, estabeleceu-se um diálogo entre Eichmann em Jerusalém e outras obras da autora, como, por exemplo, Origens do totalitarismo.

Abstract:
Le but de cette etude est d'etablir le cahier des charges des sollicitations mecaniques subies par une hanche lors de la marche. A ce jour il n'existe pas de moyen technique de mesurer in vivo les charges supportees par une articulation. La methode consiste a realiser une modelisation mecanique du systeme equivalent au membre inferieur en mouvement. Le modele est etabli a partir de pieces cadaveriques. Les formes des os sont mesurees a l'aide d'un robot puma 560 et representees sur ordinateur. Les os numerises sont ensuite deformes et adaptes aux caracteristiques morphometriques de l'individu mesurees sur des radiographies. Nous obtenons ainsi un squelette semblable a celui de l'individu. Le systeme motion analysis fournit les coordonnees spatiales de marqueurs reflechissants fixes sur le sujet en mouvement. Apres traitement ces donnees permettent d'acceder aux mouvements des os. Une plateforme de force (kistler) synchronisee enregistre le torseur des actions de contact entre le pied et le sol. La cinematique et la force de reaction du sol servent ensuite au calcul des moments intersegmentaux resultants. Ces moments sont pris en charge par les elements actifs du mouvement: les muscles. La determination des forces musculaires pose un probleme: celui de la redondance des muscles par rapport aux degres de liberte des articulations humaines. Ce probleme n'a pas ete resolu. Nous proposons cependant certaines solutions basees sur des criteres d'optimisations et nous les comparons aux donnees electromyographiques relevees sur le meme individu

Abstract:
La chirurgie orthopédique est un domaine relativement ancien de la médecine. L'accroissement de vie de l'homme a suscité un développement important, bien que récent, lié tant à une connaissance accrue dans le domaine biologique qu'à l'évolution de la technologie. De ce fait, les applications relatives à la mécanique articulaire sont très nombreuses. Elles concernent aussi bien le développement de prothèses d'épaule, de phalange, de genou, que celles de la hanche. En règle générale, les prothèses de hanche sont les plus répandues. Les premières études cliniques approfondies à la suite d'implantations de ce type de prothèses sont apparues vers les années soixante. Le recul maintenant disponible est suffisant pour pouvoir juger de la réussite ou de l'échec de ces implantations. Un certain nombre d'équipes médicales ont pu ainsi établir des statistiques concernant les accidents de descellements, qui nécessitent une réintervention chirurgicale. Abstract:
Les objectifs de ce travail étaient d'analyser la fonction motrice d'une hanche prothésée selon le type d'implants et de la comparer à une hanche native. Le protocole analysait la fonction motrice par une évaluation clinique, biomécanique et par des tests fonctionnels. Le groupe RTH montre une stabilité et engendre un meilleur contrôle moteur que pour le groupe PTH. Selon les paramètres de stabilométrie, la coordination posturale apparaît stable et devient même régulière quelque soit le niveau de contrainte appliquée. Le test de proprioception a été développé et analysé selon deux campagnes de mesure (yeux ouverts et fermés). La dynamique appliquée lors d'un saut vertical sur le centre de masse évaluait la puissance musculaire. Les 2 groupes de patients présentaient des différences significatives lors de la réalisation de tests fonctionnels de sautillement et de proprioception. Dans le groupe RTH, tous les patients ont été capables d'effectuer les tests de proprioception et de sautillement alors que seuls 8 patients (40%) avec une PTH ont réussi l'ensemble de ces 2 tests. Le comportement moteur des patients du groupe RTH (par rapport au groupe PTH) révélait des amplitudes de réception de saut plus faibles. En pratique, les patients du groupe PTH ne montraient pas de retour à la normale. Dans le groupe RTH, les hanches opérées retrouvaient des valeurs moyennes fonctionnelles identiques aux hanches de référence. Un RTH permet d'obtenir un niveau d'activité supérieur à une PTH. Les résultats fonctionnels des RTH retrouvent une hanche identique à une hanche saine contrairement aux patients du groupe PTH qui avaient systématiquement des valeurs plus faibles
The goals of the study were to analyze and assess the motor function after hip arthroplasty according to the type of implants used with a clinical and radiological analysis, a biomechanical reconstruction study and functionals tests. The hip resurfacing group has a better stability and a stronger motor pattern than the conventionnal hip arthroplasty. According to the stabilometry datas, the postural coordination appears stable and regular whatever the level of constraints imposed. The proprioception test was developped and analysed according to two levels of measures : eyes opened or closed. The dynamic pattern applied during a vertical jump on the gravity center assessed the muscular power. The two groups of patients has significant differencies during hop test and proprioception test. In the hip resurfacing group, all the patients has done the tests. The motor comportment of the hip resurfacing patients was with very low outliers for the hop test. The hip arthroplasty group patients never reached a normal gait and functional motor situation. In the hip resurfacing group, the motor function, the gait walking datas and the proprioception results were equivalents of those observed in a control group

Abstract:
Counterproductive behaviour could have an enormous impact on the workplace. Little research has been done in South Africa into the construct of integrity. Employee performance and productivity are vital for companies and employers should be made aware of the risks of unethical behaviour within such companies. Attempts should be made to reduce these risks. Research has been focused on two sets of factors that prompt counterproductive behaviour, namely personality dimensions and situational factors. Limited sources that describe the association between integrity and personality are available on the African continent. Research has indicated that individuals who score lower on integrity indicate a greater likelihood of committing theft and vandalism than individuals with higher scores. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between integrity and personality traits. The study population consisted of 145 individuals who formed part of the same recruitment process for appointment as security guards. The Contextual Performance Scale, a newly developed South African measure of integrity in the work setting, and the Work Style Questionnaire were administered. Canonical correlation and moderated regression analyses were carried out to assess the relationship of personality variables to integrity. The results indicate that a person with high integrity is someone who is relatively persuasive and very self-assured; he will be very much focused on detail - systematic, precise, accurate and able to pick up omissions quickly, he will respect authority, be hardworking, conscientious and trustworthy. This person was further shown to be able to plan and prepare ahead, and to take into consideration the consequences of decisions. A person with integrity can readily adapt to new situations and accept change without adapting his moral values. This employee can be relied upon and is unlikely to engage in counterproductive behaviour.

Resumo: Neste trabalho, pretendemos analisar a premissa arendtiana de que a categoria de meios e fins não é uma categoria política. Pretendemos mostrar que a recusa de Arendt em aceitar essa categoria no âmbito político não significa negar que a ação tenha propósitos e objetivos específicos, mas sim que a independência em relação a propósitos e fins intencionados é constitutiva da ação. Para tanto, pretendemos analisar a crítica arendtiana ao utilitarismo, para em seguida abordar a noção de grandeza da ação no pensamento arendtiano, partindo de uma analogia com a noção de beleza na esfera da arte. Retomaremos, então, duas análises de Arendt de ações propriamente políticas, com a intenção de mostrar a natureza da ação: sua capacidade de transcender motivos e objetivos. Refletiremos ainda sobre algumas críticas dirigidas à sua obra. A idéia central desta dissertação é que a ação, segundo Arendt, baseia-se na pluralidade humana e que a possibilidade de manutenção dessa pluralidade (que só se manifesta através da ação) é a fonte da sua especificidade
Abstract: The present work intends to analyze Arendt¿s claim that politics is not a means to an end. We aim to show that Arendt¿s refusal in accepting the category of ends and means in the political realm does not mean that action has no purpose or specific objectives, but, on the contrary, that action¿s constitution does not depend on its suitability in achieving its purposes or objectives. To achieve this, we intend to analyze Arendt¿s critique of utilitarianism, and then to reflect on Arendt¿s notion of the greatness of action, based on an analogy with the notion of the beauty. We then reflect upon two events examined by Arendt as proper political actions, in order to demonstrate the nature of these said actions and its capacity of transcending motives and objectives. We also examine some critiques directed at her philosophy. The main idea of this dissertation is that action, according to Arendt, is based in human plurality and that the possibility of the continual of this plurality is the source of action¿s constitution

Este trabalho vista demonstrar o fundamento, a importância e a singularidade da reflexão arendtiana sobre o fenómeno totalitário assim como do mal que dele resulta, procurando destacar as consequências que resultaram da experiência totalitária e entender até que ponto somos ainda hoje afectados pelas mesmas. Abstract:
This thesis examines Hannah Arendt’s argument for a council democracy and its relevance for contemporary democratic practices. References to the councils in Arendt’s work are often ignored or dismissed by her interpreters as a utopian commitment. Against the tendency to neglect this aspect of her thought, I argue that the councils play a crucial role in her work as the institutional embodiment of her principle of political freedom. Tracing the development of the council concept in Arendt’s thought, I offer a significant reinterpretation of her political theory as situated within the radical democratic tradition of Rosa Luxemburg. I contend that Arendt’s key contribution to democratic theory is her championing of a federal system of participatory and empowered councils as the central political institutions of a council republic. Arendt’s argument for a council democracy draws from historical examples of councils from the French Revolution to the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. However, Arendt mischaracterises the nature of the councils and the intentions of council delegates. She inserts them in the framework of her own political categories and disregards the delegates’ socialist ideology and socio-economic concerns. Arendt’s distortion of the councils gives rise to the need for a historical re-examination of their political practices. I return to the political struggles of the post-First World War council movements in Germany and Russia in order to place the councils in historical perspective and challenge the biases of Arendt’s account. My analysis reveals that the councils were concerned with both political and economic affairs. I revise Arendt’s depiction in arguing that the councils were transformative organs of democratisation that sought to introduce democratic conditions into all spheres of social organisation. Situating the councils in relation to contemporary democratic practices, my principal argument is that they offer a critical perspective on the limits of current liberal democratic regimes. Although the councils do not present a model that could be replicated today, council delegates engaged in significant political practices that are instructive for current attempts at political transformation. In particular, they reveal the insufficiencies of electoral institutions for enabling widespread political participation and holding elites accountable. I argue that the historical significance of the councils is their exemplary role as institutions through which working-class forces organised to restrain elites, dismantle hierarchical systems and equalise power between citizens.

In her book On Revolution Hannah Arendt has tried to settle accounts with the two dominant political traditions of the Iast 150 years: liberal democrats and Marxists. According to her basic thesis, both traditions have misunderstood the actually revolutionary element in moder o revolutions: their repeatedly failed attempt to establish a constitutiolibertatis, that is, a political space of public freedom in which people as equal and free citizens would take control of their common concems. This paper tries to show how Arendt's apparently naive idea of direct or council democracy maybe used productively by being integrated into - instead of being opposed to-- the liberal-democratic socialist legacy.
En su libro Sobre la revolución Hannah Arendt trató de saldar cuentas tanto con la tradición liberal como con la marxista; esto es, con las dos tradiciones políticas que han dominado los últimos 150 años. Su tesis básica es que ambos, marxistas y liberales demócratas, han malentendido que lo que era verdaderamente revolucionario en las modernas revoluciones era el siempre frustrado intento de una constitutiolibertatis - la intención de establecer un espacio político de libertad pública en el cual las personas, como ciudadanos libres e iguales, puedan tomar control de sus asuntos comunes. En este artículo, el autor trata de mostrar cómo la idea arendtiana de democracia directa o consejo democrático, idea que tomada literalmente parece ingenua, puede ser usada productivamente si fuera integrada -en vez de opuesta- allegado liberal democrático-socialista.

Abordagem que visa equacionar o sentido da justiça, em Hannah Arendt, com suas reflexões sobre a faculdade humana de julgar. Analisa-se o comportamento do carrasco nazista Adolf Eichmann durante seu julgamento em Israel, a partir das impressões suscitadas em Arendt, com vistas a delinear a problemática que envolve a jurisdição frente a crimes sem precedentes, tal como o genocídio. Descrevem-se os elementos que compõem o totalitarismo, destacando seu caráter inédito e, mediante a constatação do esfacelamento da tradição frente ao fenômeno totalitário, caracteriza-se a vita activa com o objetivo de demonstrar que no pensamento da filósofa, o sentido original da política se radica no conceito de liberdade. Partindo da problemática do mal, se traça uma diferenciação entre a concepção de sua radicalidade e de sua banalidade engendrando uma leitura interpretativa das três atividades básicas do espírito a fim de evidenciar as relações que estas mantém entre si, extraindo daí as implicações e abrangência da faculdade de julgar como atividade eminentemente política. Com base na crítica arendtiana à modernidade e em seu posicionamento filosófico de desconstruir a argumentação metafísica delineia-se a importância da capacidade de pensar, querer e julgar, em seus modos autônomos visando identificar a compreensão e a busca pelo sentido como algo imprescindível à existência humana, à política e à compreensão de um sentido de justiça cujo significado perpassa a inclusão do outro em uma perspectiva que só pode ser política se for também intersubjetiva. Avalia-se a figura do espectador, identificando os elementos que os compõem como atributos indispensáveis ao ato de julgar como viabilizador do paradigma de compreensão, que promove a reconciliação dos homens com o mundo cuja dimensão política carece mais do que nunca, na atualidade, ser dignamente resgatada. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
Approach considering the sense of justice in Hannah Arendt through her reflection on the human faculty of judging. We analyze the behavior of Nazi murderer Adolf Eichmann during his trial in Israel from Arendt’s feelings in order to outline problems involved in the jurisdiction in the face of unprecedented crimes such as genocide. We describe elements of totalitarianism, highlighting its unprecedented nature and, by establishing the disintegration of tradition against the totalitarian phenomenon, the vita activa is characterized in order to demonstrate that within the philosopher’s thought, the original meaning of politics lies in the concept of freedom. Starting from the problem of evil, a distinction is drawn between the design of its radicalism and its banality engendering an interpretative reading of the three basic activities of the spirit in order to show relations between them drawing implications and scope of judgment faculty as political activity eminently. Based on Arendt's critique to modernity and its philosophical position to deconstruct, the metaphysical reasoning outlines the importance of thinking, willing and judging abilities in their autonomous ways to identify the comprehension and the quest for meaning as something essential to human existence, policy, and understanding the sense of justice whose meaning runs through the inclusion of the other in a perspective that can only be political if it is also intersubjective. We investigate the figure of the spectator, identifying elements that compose him as essential attributes to judge as facilitator of understanding paradigm, which promotes individuals reconciliation with the world whose political dimension is needed more than ever, at present, be worthily redeemed.

Esta dissertação apresenta a concepção de juízo político de Hannah Arendt. Afastando-se de uma leitura ortodoxa dos textos kantianos, Arendt vislumbra no juízo reflexionante estético de Kant a estrutura do juízo político. Em um constante diálogo com a obra kantiana a autora se apropria de vários conceitos, tanto conceitos constantes na Crítica da faculdade do juízo, que é a obra que ela afirma conter a verdadeira filosofia política de Kant, como conceitos de outras importantes obras kantianas. No decorrer deste texto, quando entendemos que ocorre uma apropriação conceitual buscamos situar minimamente o conceito no contexto da obra kantiana para compreendermos a concepção e o gesto interpretativo de Arendt. Através da análise de seus escritos mostramos como ela compreende o modo de funcionamento da faculdade humana de julgar os eventos políticos, por meio da exposição e discussão dos principais conceitos envolvidos em sua teoria. Assim, apresentamos as condições de possibilidade do juízo representadas pelas faculdades da imaginação e do senso comum, bem como as duas perspectivas pelas quais essa faculdade se manifesta no mundo público, o juízo do ator e o juízo do espectador. Depois, analisamos a conexão entre as faculdades de pensamento e juízo para extrair as implicações éticas da faculdade humana de julgar. Estas reflexões são uma tentativa de compreender como, para Arendt, opera a faculdade de julgar; por que ela considera esta faculdade a mais política das habilidades espirituais do homem, e qual é a relevância política desta atividade do espírito.
This dissertation presents the conception of Hannah Arendt’s political judgment. Moving away from an orthodox reading of Kantian texts, Arendt glimpses in the aesthetic reflective judgment of Kant, the structure of the political judgment. In one constant dialogue with Kantian Work the author appropriates several concepts, as concepts constant in the Critique of judgment, which is the Work that she affirms that contains the true Kant’s political philosophy, as concepts of other important Kantian Works. In elapsing of this text, when we understand that a conceptual appropriation occurs, we try to situate the concept in the context of the Kantian Work to understand Arendt’s conception and the interpretation gesture. Through the analysis of her writings we show as she understands the way of functioning of the human faculty to judge the political events, by the exposition and debate of the main involved concepts in her theory. So, we present the conditions of judgment possibility represented by the faculties of the imagination and the common sense, as well as the two perspectives for which manifests this faculty in the public world, the judgment of the actor and the judgment of the spectator. After that, we analyze the connection between the faculties of thought and judgment to extract the ethical implications of the human faculty to judge. These reflections are an attempt to understand how does the faculty of judge operate for Arendt; why does she consider this faculty the most political of men’s mental abilities, and what is the politic relevance of this spirit’s activity.

Mais on ne saurait agir qu’au pluriel, et il y a une radicale autonomie de la praxis. La politique, au pluriel agissant, effectue une révélation du-monde : elle change le « désert » en « monde ». Parce qu’agir est fondamentalement commencer quelque chose, la politique se laisse le mieux approcher aux moments révolutionnaires, aux moments de hiatus dans les temps historiques, où la capacité originaire des hommes apparaît à la lumière du jour. L’expérience de la politique nous montre que l’agir humain est la seule figure véritable de ce que les philosophes ont appelé l’arkhè. La pensée politique recherchée par Arendt est une pensée qui saurait s’exercer en conditions de pluralité. Cela exige de décentrer le dispositif philosophique dans son ensemble : du théorique, le séjour du singulier-universel, vers l’Öffentlichkeit, le séjour du pluriel-mondial. Penser politiquement, cela suppose d’endurer le Faktum de la pluralité en développant une patience de l’action. La pensée politique prend la forme d’une compréhension, ce qui nomme le moment principal de ce décentrement. Politics, as Arendt understands it, is the name of an specific experience, infinitely practical : the politeuein, the experience of acting. Thus, plurality is the condition of acting and so there is a radical autonomy of praxis. Politics, as a plural action, accomplishes a revelation of the-world : it transforms the no man’s land into a world. If acting means primarily beginning something, the revolutionnary periods teach us with particular acuity about acting : the periods of an hiatus in historical time, when the originating capacity of men appears in an explicit way. The experience of politics shows that human acting is the mere genuine figure of that thing that philosophers called arkhè. The political thinking which Arendt has investigated is a specific way of thinking to put in practice in conditions of plurality. That means to off-center the philosophical device altogether : from the theoretical, the place of the singular-universal, to the Öffentlichkeit, the place of the plural-earthly. Political thinking means acomplishing the task of enduring plurality and developping a patience of the action. Political thinking is mainly a means of comprehension, which is the name of the crucial moment of this off-centering process. If acting starts something new each time, if it’s primarily a rupture, the patience of the action defines the labor, the effort and the discipline of beginning, of miracle. This patience defines a philosophy of initium, of initiative. The main challenge of this way of thinking consists on substracting the moment of « in the beginning » from mythic power. Il n’est de lecteur d’Hannah Arendt qui ne soit frappé par la présence des poètes et des romanciers dans le cours de son oeuvre, par l’irrigation de sa pensée par la source littéraire. Sur fond de réconciliation de la philosophie et de la littérature, mise au crédit du XXe siècle, surgit ainsi l’énigme d’une façon proprement arendtienne d’acclimater la parole poétique et romanesque à l’écriture théorique. Afin d’élucider cette énigme, d’en dévoiler les enjeux, j’ai tenté de retrouver les fondements ontologiques du parti pris littéraire d’Arendt : Pourquoi des poètes et des romanciers ? Autour de quels concepts les affinités avec les écrivains se nouent-elles ? Il convenait ensuite, afin d’entrer plus avant dans cette pensée du roman et de la poésie jamais élaborée mais partout suggérée, de traiter séparément chacun des deux genres : la poésie d’abord, conservatoire d’une Stimmung et d’une modalité de la vérité pré-modernes, puis le roman, qu’Arendt goûte comme lectrice, accueille avec libéralité comme penseur mais qui lui demeure suspect comme genre littéraire. Handle is the main touch point of the machine and it needs to provide enough comfort and assist the functions.Cramer, a German garden tools brand owned by The Globe Group, is focusing on researching and developing Garden power tools for amateurs as well as professional users. For them it is important to satisfy the customer and improve the user experience of their products.This project is focused only on the handle of the string trimmer to improve the overall user experience. This project mainly deals with the ergonomic aspects of the handle for a larger percentile of population. It is very important to make a handle were the professional users are going to use longer period of time. Along with the comfort this project put stress on increase the user experience by giving modern, friendly and premium expression visually as well as physically. Even though the project is to develop a handle concept, it needs to go along with the overall brand language.

Resumo: A que nos conduz o pensamento de Hannah Arendt? Neste estudo concebe-se o pensamento de Hannah Arendt a partir de uma dimensão inerente a sua condição de “conduzir”, nos marcos do sentido etimológico da “pedagogia”. Faz-se um exercício de cartografia do seu pensamento, com uma demarcação sobre aqueles escritos que nos permitem aproximar melhor da condição humana de seu exercício na filosofia. Procuram-se em algumas correspondências, memórias, entrevistas e discursos, as marcas de um pensamento que nos auxiliam a pensar o sentido de “pertencimento”, na relação do sujeito com o mundo, e o sentido do “reconhecimento”, na relação do sujeito com o outro seu semelhante. A resposta à pergunta nuclear alcança a sua elaboração final com a definição do exercício mesmo do pensamento, em uma solução de acerto do sujeito consigo mesmo. Discute-se o sentido do pensar, enquanto uma prática, ao mesmo tempo individual e social, como a expressão da responsabilidade que um sujeito assume diante do outro e diante do mundo. Tais elementos da composição do sujeito a partir do reconhecimento do mundo, do outro e de si, são trazidos para a reflexão dos desafios de uma educação diferente, que tenha-os como base de condução.
Abstract: Where does Hannah Arendt thoughts lead us? In this study Hannah Arendt's thinking is conceived from a dimension inherent in his condition of "driving" within the framework of the etymological sense of "pedagogy". An exercise of cartography of his thought is made, with a demarcation on those writings that allow us to better approach the human condition of his exercise in philosophy. We seek in some correspondences, memories, interviews and speeches, the marks of a thought that help us think the sense of "belonging", regarding the subject with the world, and the sense of "recognition", regarding the subject with the other of his resembling. The answer to the nuclear question reaches its final elaboration with the definition of the exercise of thought, in a solution of hits of the subject's own self-satisfaction. It discusses the meaning of thinking, as a practice, both individual and social, as an expression of the responsibility that one admits before the other and before the world. Such elements of one’s composition from the recognition of the world, from the other and from itself, are brought to the reflection of the challenges of a different education that has them as a basis of conduction.

L'etude, realisee pour des vibrations aleatoires entre 0 et 500 hertz, a permis de caracteriser le comportement de la hanche saine, par comparaison avec des articulations munies de protheses totales realisees en differents materiaux. Les resultats experimentaux ont ete confrontes a ceux de deux modeles numeriques, et montrent que le calcul devrait rapidement permettre des predictions convenables. L'experience montre egalement que certains materiaux testes donnent des resultats proches de ceux de l'os intact, au sens du protocole utilise

L’objectif de ce travail est d’élaborer un modèle mécanique de la hanche saine susceptible d’être utilisé comme référence pour pouvoir ensuite analyser le comportement de hanches pathologiques en évaluant l’effet des traitements préconisés par comparaison des différents comportements simulés. Dans ce contexte, un modèle éléments finis générique de l’articulation de la hanche est développé. Il est également nécessaire de déterminer l’état de chargement de l’articulation de la hanche pour notre simulation. L’analyse du mouvement permet le calcul des données cinématiques et dynamiques à partir des mesures expérimentales. A partir de ces données, un modèle musculo-squelettique associant une méthode de dynamique inverse et d’optimisation statique, permet de déterminer les efforts musculaires mis en jeu par les muscles croisant l’articulation de la hanche. L’évaluation des forces développées par les muscles de la hanche permet de calculer la réaction de contact articulaire exercée par le fémur sur le bassin. C’est cette réaction que nous implémentons dans le modèle éléments finis. Ainsi, les simulations du comportement de la hanche saine sont réalisées pour la phase d’appui de la marche et la phase d’appui de la montée d’escaliers. Nous traitons ensuite d’une application clinique visant à évaluer l’influence du port d’une orthèse podale sur le comportement mécanique d’une hanche arthrosique. La démarche suivie est la même que celle mise en place pour l’étude du comportement de la hanche saine. L’état de chargement de la hanche arthrosique est déterminé chez le patient pendant la marche et la montée d’escaliers évoluant successivement avec puis sans orthèses
The aim of this study is to elaborate a mechanical model of the healthy hip joint. The main objective is to use it as a reference model in order to analyse pathological hip joint mechanical behaviours and evaluate prescribed treatment by comparison of pre vs. Post simulated behaviours. Therefore, a generic finite element model of the hip joint is developed. Experimental acquisitions of kinematical and kinetic data are implemented in a musculo-skeletal model to calculate muscular forces acting at the hip joint. Our approach consists in coupling an inverse dynamic method with static optimisation. From the evaluation of each individual hip muscle force, the contact reaction force is computed. The contact reaction force is then implemented in the finite element model in order to perform simulations for several instants of the stance phase of gait and stair climbing. Contact pressure distributions during the stance phase of gait are compared to those available in the literature, measured in vivo by mean of instrumented prosthesis or cadaveric experiments simulating gait cycles. A clinical application concerns the evaluation of the effect of foot orthoses on the mechanical behaviour of an osteoarthritic hip joint. The loading conditions at the hip joint, when the patient is walking or climbing a step successively with and without foot orthoses, is determined in each experimental conditions using the approach previously described
