Abstract:
Nous présentons dans cet article les résultats d’une revue de la littérature sur les rôles sociaux, au terme de laquelle se dégagent deux grandes tendances, l’une basée sur les disciplines de la sociologie et de l’anthropologie, l’autre sur celle de la psychologie sociale. Ces tendances entrent en contradiction l’une avec l’autre, parce qu’elles partent de principes différents (approches socioculturelles vs approches individuelles) ; il s’en dégage d’une façon générale que des confusions apparaissent, notamment lorsque nous voulons situer la problématique des rôles sociaux au regard de la dimension des habitudes de vie d’une personne ayant des incapacités, et s’inscrivant dans le processus de production du handicap. Il s’agit donc de dégager les difficultés et les limites associées à l’utilisation de la notion de rôle dans le modèle conceptuel du processus de production du handicap. En étendant la problématique aux processus favorisant la participation sociale des personnes ayant des incapacités, le concept de rôle social devient alors un élément clé mais ambigu, permettant toutefois de s’interroger sur la qualité de cette participation sociale.

Le concept d’autodétermination, né en Amérique du Nord de recherches théoriques et empiriques en psychologie et en sciences de l’éducation, se diffuse aujourd’hui très largement dans la pratique de l’accompagnement médico-social. Or il bénéficie d’un autre fondement, plus théorique mais aussi de plus forte portée normative : dans la Convention européenne des droits de l’homme et la jurisprudence de la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme qui a dégagé, depuis 2002, la notion très proche « d’autonomie personnelle ». Du rapprochement de ces deux sources d’inspiration, et de l’éclairage particulier que donne l’application de cette notion aux situations de handicap, peut naître une vision renouvelée de l’accompagnement des personnes vulnérables, des obligations d’accessibilité qui pèsent sur la société et du rôle attendu des professionnels du travail social.

De nombreuses recherches en psychologie sociale s’accordent actuellement pour considérer que le jugement social repose sur deux dimensions fondamentales, appelées dans le cadre de la théorie de la valeur sociale : désirabilité et utilité sociale. L’objectif de ce travail est d’analyser dans quelle mesure deux sous-dimensions de l’utilité sociale (i.e., compétence et effort) ont des valeurs prédictives différentes dans l’explication de la réussite universitaire d’étudiants présentés comme ayant ou non des incapacités motrices. Dans l’Étude 1, 174 étudiants lisaient un petit scénario décrivant un étudiant ayant ou non des incapacités motrices, réussissant ou non dans ses études. Dans l’Étude 2, le paradigme est inversé : il est demandé à 185 étudiants d’évaluer le potentiel de réussite d’un étudiant ayant ou non des incapacités motrices, présenté comme soit désirable, soit compétent, soit faisant des efforts. Pris dans leur globalité, les résultats montrent que la réussite universitaire est perçue comme reposant davantage sur la compétence que sur les efforts. Par ailleurs, les étudiants en situation de handicap sont survalorisés sur la dimension de l’effort.

Si la psychiatrie a pour objet la subjectivité (normale et pathologique) et pour outil l’intersubjectivité, la méthodologie ou, sur un autre plan également nécessaire, la déontologie du soin psychiatrique garantissent-elles l’éthique? L’accès au statut de psychothérapeute via la formation autorise-t-il les psychiatres à se penser éthiciens ou, à tout le moins, à se présupposer plus compétents en éthique que les autres spécialistes, lesquels n’auraient jamais envisagé le sujet? Si l’herméneutique du sujet (Foucault) ne se réduit pas à la psychologie, la problématique subjectivité/vérité appelle de facto à un questionnement sur les mœurs, sur la société du malaise (Ehrenberg). Et si intersubjectivité et soins du psychisme étaient le lieu de tous les risques de violation de l’éthique du fait de la normativité inhérente au pouvoir psychiatrique (Foucault)? Et si l’éthique en psychiatrie appelait à un surcroît de questionnement, de prudence en lien avec les impensés ou les pré-jugés de la profession? « Approche écologique de la famille en SESSAD ». Par l’accompagnement médico-social des familles touchées par le handicap qu’il propose, le SESSAD peut être considéré comme une institution paradigmatique d’une intervention écologique. Le psychologue en SESSAD travaille à la reprise des liens intra-familiaux bouleversés par le traumatisme. Il favorise le maillage des liens extra-familiaux en intervenant dans l’environnement familier de l’enfant, avec les partenaires institutionnels. Il aide chaque acteur (enfant, parent, intervenant) à se situer dans ce réseau, à élaborer son rapport au handicap. Il participe à l’inclusion d’un enfant handicapé au sein de la société civile. L’auteur s’appuie sur une situation clinique familiale où le psychologue, au sein d’une équipe pluridisciplinaire, construit pas à pas ce travail de liaison qui soigne la famille.

Ce texte propose une analyse croisée du soutien aux familles d’enfants handicapés au Québec et en Suisse romande. Il présente, pour chaque région, les principales législations en lien avec la politique familiale et le handicap, les dispositifs de sécurité sociale ainsi que l’organisation des services sociaux, scolaires et de santé. Les deux territoires possèdent un héritage historique commun ancré dans une approche caritative du handicap. Dans les années 1970, les revendications des mouvements associatifs ont permis, de part et d’autre, une professionnalisation de l’accompagnement des personnes handicapées et de leurs proches. Actuellement, le système québécois s’inscrit dans une perspective ambulatoire, tandis que les institutions spécialisées jouent encore un rôle important en Suisse romande. Dans ces deux parties francophones d’États fédéralistes, des besoins importants subsistent au sein des familles d’enfants handicapés, malgré le développement de solutions innovantes.

Cette thèse traite du sens du handicap physique. Le handicap est appréhendé en tant qu'expérience biographique qui est à la fois psychique et sociale. L'analyse de cette expérience est menée à travers plusieurs récits de vie de personnes dites handicapées. La nécessite de tenir compte dans cette analyse des deux dimensions psychique et sociale appelle une sociologie clinique du handicap. Cette expérience se compose d'une série de pratiques sociales « justifiées » par le handicap. Ces pratiques témoignent de processus contradictoires que vit la personne « handicapée ». Ces processus touchent à plusieurs secteurs de l'histoire de sa vie : histoire affective, histoire familiale et histoire professionnelle. . . L'analyse de ces processus dévoile l'importance de la question identitaire qui se trouve au cœur de l'expérience du handicap. La personne dite handicapée est mise en situation de « balancement identitaire » entre deux identités : l'identité ordinaire, « réservée » aux personnes physiquement bien-portantes et l'identité « handicapée » rattachée au handicap. C'est dans l'interaction en face à face que la personne « handicapée » fait l'expérience de ces enjeux identitaires en particulier et de son handicap en général. Dans l'interaction, la personne « handicapée » fait l'expérience du regard des autres qui joue pour elle un rôle révélateur de son handicap. Cette thèse de doctorat se conclut par un appel à la construction d'un nouveau concept pour décrire la réalité des personnes dites handicapées qui ne sont plus toutes en situation de« liminalité » (à la marge), en prônant à cet effet le recours à une sociologie clinique du handicap
This thesis examines the meaning of physical disability which approached as a biographical experience which is both psychic and social. This experience is analysed using life historics of several people living with physical disability. This requires clinical sociology to take into account both psychic and social aspects of disability experience. This experience is composed of a series of social practices "justified" by the disability which attest to the contradictory processes which face "handicapped" people. These processes deal with several sectors of their life history including emotional, family and work. . . The results indicate the centrality of the identity question in the disability experience. People identified as "handicapped" are put in situations of "identity swing" between ordinary identity, usually "reserved" for people in good health and "handicapped" identity related to disability. It is in face-to-face interactions that "handicapped" people experience their specific identity issues and those of their handicap in general. This doctoral thesis concludes by calling for a new concept to describe the reality of people with disability who are not longer all kept at the margins (liminality). This suggests the need to develop a clinical sociology of disability

Cette thèse a pour objectif d'examiner les réactions au handicap en fonction d'une double perspective. Considérant la production sociale du handicap comme un processus interactif entre le groupe stigmatisant des personnes valides et celui stigmatisé des personnes handicapées, nous soutenons que les processus de comparaison sont fondamentaux, mais à différents niveaux d'analyse. La première partie expérimentale aborde la question des attitudes préjudiciables des valides envers les handicapés. L'étude 1 montre que les affects en constituent des déterminants de première importance. L'étude 2 met en évidence que ces attitudes négatives sont particulièrement manifestes lorsque l'identité sociale des valides est rendue saillante, évoquant l'aspect comparatif des préjugés. L'étude 3, en milieu scolaire, et l'étude 4, en laboratoire, confirment que des comparaisons intergroupes favorables provoquent des attitudes ouvertement hostiles envers les personnes handicapées. La seconde partie expérimentale est consacrée aux stratégies de protection de soi du point de vue des handicapés. L'étude 5 établit la relation positive entre l'estime de soi et les comparaisons intrapersonnelles entre le soi présent et le soi futur. L'étude 6 révèle que parmi trois niveaux comparatifs (intergroupe, inter et intrapersonnel), seules les comparaisons intrapersonnelles fonctionnent en tant que stratégie auto-protectrice pour des étudiants handicapés. Enfin, l'étude 7 dévoile que suite à une comparaison intrapersonnelle favorable, des collégiens handicapés favorisent et s'identifient à leurs pairs valides, dénotant un phénomène de mobilité sociale. Les résultats confirment l'hypothèse selon laquelle pour le groupe dominant des valides, les comparaisons pertinentes expliquant l'hostilité envers le handicap se situent à un niveau intergroupe, alors que pour le groupe dominé des handicapés, les comparaisons pertinentes témoignant de la préservation du soi à un niveau intrapersonnel

In my thesis the potential of technical struggles and various mechanical limitations of puppets themselves is explored. Related to that also other limitation of puppetry and even drama as a genre itself are uncovered. Surprising analogy with the world of people with disabilities can be found here. So a disabilitity becomes a substantial point of view and a kind of subjects of demonstration which have been used in my work up to now. In the first part resources and terms related to disabilities are considered as well as the reasons triggering my interest in this phenomenon. A partir d'une expérience clinique d'une vingtaine d'années dans un camsp en tant que psychanalyste auprès d'enfants handicapés âgés de 0 à 6 ans et de leur famille, il s'agit de dégager les répercussions psychiques du handicap qui marque l'enfant du sceau de l'étrangeté et confronte ses parents à l'anormalité de leur descendance. Du côte des parents, le handicap constitue un traumatisme, dont on peut décrire les modalités évolutives. Le décalage entre l'enfant réel et l'enfant imaginaire mobilise un travail de deuil infini et impossible, car l'enfant réel rappelle sans cesse la blessure narcissique initiale et rend très délicate l'expression de la culpabilité liée au fantasme de filiation fautive que le handicap vient objectiver, ainsi que de l'ambivalence affective, et en particulier les souhaits de mort. Du côté de l'enfant, à partir de traitements psychothérapiques de longue durée, quels sont les processus psychiques mis en place, même par des enfants très déficients, pour élaborer cette particularité qui s'inscrit dans la construction de l'identité ? le handicap oblige l'enfant a "penser la différence", ce qui passe par des périodes de dépression et produit des configurations défensives sur le mode du déni et du clivage, voire de la perversion, ainsi qu'un risque de psychotisation. Par ailleurs, l'approche psychanalytique du handicap conduit à des réflexions sur le rôle du regard et du miroir, des interrogations sur l'origine, la causalité et la transmission. Enfin, ce champ clinique contraint, plus qu'un autre, à une réflexion sur les aspects contre-transférentiels mobilisés, normal-pathologiue, réalité psychique-réalite factuelle. En conclusion, la recherche aboutit à a l'idée d'une possibilité de devenir psychique, même pour un sujet lourdement marqué par une réalite organique et ou événementielle
This research is derived from a practice as a psychoanalyst in a center (camsp) which treats handicapped children aged from 0 to 6 and their family and it investigates what will be the psychic evolution of both the parents and the children. The handicap has left the child with a stamp of abnormality, which evokes a sense of uncanniness. For the parents, the discovery of the child's handicap is a traumatic event. The gulf between the imaginary child and the actual child is so big, that the work of mourning will be impossible and endless. The handicap awakens a sense of guilt and of abnormal sexuality. As for the child, the handicap affects its identity. A psychotherapeutic approach enables us to demonstrate the ways in which identity formation occurs in this respect and to describe the psychic processes used by the child. The revelation of being different implies experiencing moments of depression, and passes through denial, spliting and even perversion. Or psychotic mecanisms. In conclusion, there is a possibility to link the uncanny of the handicap to representations and to show the psychic evolution which remains possible, even if there is a heavy organic and actuel reality

Abstract:
Lorsque l’on entend parler d’un crime ou d’un acte de violence, les premières questions que nous nous posons concernent généralement l’auteur et la victime de l’infraction puis l’acte qui a été commis. Au regard des taux élevés de victimisation des personnes handicapées, il semble pertinent et important de s’interroger sur la façon dont le handicap est appréhendé dans le domaine de la justice. Cette thèse se situe à l’intersection de trois domaines différents que sont la psychologie sociale, le handicap et la criminologie. Son but principal est d’examiner l’influence du handicap face à une situation infractionnelle, que la personne handicapée soit auteure ou victime de l’infraction. Pour cela, cinq études combinant les approches descriptives et expérimentales ont été réalisées. Les deux premières recherches portent sur l’analyse d’archives judiciaires (violences conjugales et vols avec violence), avec pour objectif la comparaison de différents facteurs (individuels, familiaux, sociaux et légaux) entre les situations avec ou sans handicap. Trois études expérimentales ont été menées afin de déterminer l’effet de la présence d’un handicap et du type de handicap (moteur, mental, psychique) sur l’attribution de responsabilité des protagonistes, ce qui est ressenti lorsqu’une infraction est commise ainsi que sur les actions pouvant être entreprises. Les résultats indiquent une relative similarité des facteurs entre les archives judiciaires qu’il y ait ou non présence d’un handicap. Ceux des études expérimentales montrent un effet de la présence d’un handicap ainsi que du type de handicap sur les taux de responsabilité et sur ce qui est ressenti. L’implication de ces résultats est discutée d’un point de vue théorique et pratique
When we hear about a crime or an act of violence, the first questions we ask ourselves concern generally the author and the victim then the act which was committed. With regard to the high rates of victimization of the disable people, it seems relevant and important to investigate how disability is apprehended in the field of justice. This thesis is situated at the intersection of three different domains that are social psychology, handicap and criminology. Its main purpose is to examine the influence of disability in the face of an unlawful situation that the disabled person is the author or the victim of the offense. Five research combining descriptive and experimental approaches have been made. The first two studies focus on the analysis of court records (domestic violence and thefts with violence), with the aim comparison of different factors (individual, family, social and legal) between the situations with and without disabilities. Three experimental studies were conducted to determine the effect of the presence of a disability and the type of disability (physical, intellectual, mental) on the attribution of responsibility of the protagonists, what is felt when an offense is committed and on possible actions. The results indicate a relative similarity factors between the judicial archives whether or not the presence of a disability. Those of the experimental studies show an effect of the presence of a disability as well as the type of disability on rates of responsibility and on what is felt. The implication of these results is discussed from a theoretical and practical perspective

Abstract:
The World Health Organization (WHO) states on its website, the one dedicated to the regional office of the Middle East, that there are more than 1000 million disabled people across the globe, which represents approximately 15% of the entire world population i.e. nearly 1 in every 7 people is disabled. It also indicates that the number of the people who suffer from a handicap is on a continuous rise, mainly because of the aging population as well as the exacerbation of chronic illnesses. Moreover, the same organization informs that although this matter is of an extreme seriousness, there is in fact a severe lack of awareness and an unavailability of the necessary scientific information related to this topic. As a matter of fact, there is only a small number of documents that display collections of studies about the policies and responses that the countries have put in place in order to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The data related to disabilities and disabled people points out to an evident lack of concern, on a global scale, when it comes to this particular group that happens to include millions of people all throughout the world. However, and despite the efforts and resources dedicated to accommodate and rehabilitate handicapped people, we still, unfortunately, have a long way to go before we can reach this desired goal. So, does it mean that all these efforts were in vain? In this communication, we will attempt to answer this question through a presentation of the historical evolution of opinions about the meaning of disability and special needs in light of the recent scientific advancements and its impact on the social perception, by shedding the light on the symbolism of the phenomenon of abuse and bullying targeting individuals with special needs. This historical examination shows a clear quantum leap when it comes to the treatment and attitude towards people with special needs, a leap that coincides with the advancement that the scientific research and the pathological classification in the psychology have witnessed in the beginning of the twentieth century. Following these classifications, a number of legal renewals took place, which provided disabled people with several rights that guarantee their protection. Therefore, we can determine that there is indeed a tangible change, albeit the fact that there is definitely and undoubtedly more room for improvement in this regard. Consequently, the denunciations we witness today regarding the abuse and mistreatment of people with disabilities is in fact a product of the collective awareness and the public acknowledgment of the radical shift regarding the conceptual and practical notion of disability. Which in turn, predicts a better and a more prosperous future for a group of people who are in dire need of change.

Panduri nr.90, Email: ecaterinavr@yahoo.com ABSTRACT Introduction The importance of educational and social inclusion for all children and adolescents is clear in the modern world and particularly in Europe, with an emphasis on marginalized and vulnerable groups. Children with special educational needs (SEN) are one important group in this social and educational area. Main objectives: 1. Explore the internet resources in connection with the SEN and inclusion (criteria based), in order to identify the amplitude and the main meanings of the two concepts 2. Built lists of publications available on internet from major resources and making short reviews for some of these Methodology and process Based on the two key words (special educational needs and inclusion) hundreds of websites and blogs were explored, during the first phase. In the second phase some of them were selected – on a short list - according to the consistence to the key words: special educational needs and inclusion. This short list – including resources in English, French and Romanian language - was explored more in depths, following the indicators of: a) Terminology and meanings – for the two main terms b) Coverage (components) for special educational needs c) Linkage between the two terms In the third phase internet resources from UNESCO and European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education (EADSNE) was reviewed, in order to build - for each one - a short list of publica-tions and studies. Findings The main results are presented in synthesis. Objective 1 There is huge amount of web sites and blogs connected with SEN and inclusion. Of course this is more obvious from the internet sources in English. Due to the dynamics and complexity of internet communi-cation (direct and linked sources) is very difficult to make a quantitative estimation, but there are certainly thousands of links in the international arena. From a qualitative approach some major findings were: a) In the English sources from Europe SEN and SNE (Special Needs Education) are by far the most frequently used words. In the USA and Canada SEN is used interchangeably with ‘special needs’ and/or ‘spe-cial education’. In Europe SEN and SNE have a wide usage, particularly in the UK, Spain, Portugal but also at the level of the EADSNE (2 countries from EU as members). In the French sources there is less usage of SEN and SNE terms, but the term “besoignes educatif particuliere’ (particular educational needs) has emerged recently (EADSNE, 2009). In the Romanian sources there is a mixture of using SEN (a little bit of SNE) and also traditional terms as handicap, impairment, learning and language disorders etc. b) There is some variety in Europe, when scrutinizing the coverage (components) for SEN, but the tendency is to take the OECD definition from 2000 (IE: Hungary). Some countries have made recent changes in legislation in connection with SEN meaning and coverage (Scotland and Spain). There are similarities between the content of SEN in Europe and that of ‘special needs; or special education beneficiaries’ in USA. An interesting term in USA is “exceptional children’ (The Council of Exceptional Children), which refers both to children with disabilities and to gifted children. In Romania a pilot project was undertaken by RENINCO in 2007 – in cooperation with the Education Ministry - using the OECD definition of SEN. This definition is also present in a draft strategy for special needs education in the context of inclusion, posted on the Ministry website since April 2010. c) In all languages and geographical entities explored there is a clear and strong connection between SEN (or SNE) and inclusion. UNESCO and the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education are two important leading organisations in this field, also emphasising a strong connection between SEN and inclusion. Objective 2 After reviewing various resources two of them where selected for a thorough inventory of relevant publications and other resources. UNESCO (www.unesco.org.) is offering, in particular, a lot of information on inclusive education, like for instance the following publications and eReports: - Open file on inclusive education, 2001 - Case studies on inclusive education, 2001 (comprising Romania too) - Guidelines for inclusion. Ensuring education for all, 2005 - Positive discipline in the inclusive, learning-friendly classroom: a guide for teachers and teacher educators, 2006 - Policy guidelines on inclusion in education, 2009 EADSNE (www.european-agency.org) offers resources both on SEN and inclusion, like for exam-ple: - Development of a set of indicators – for inclusive education in Europe, 2009 - Inclusive Education and Classroom Practices, 2003 - Multicultural diversity and special needs education. Summary Report, 2009 - Special Needs Country Data, 2008 - Thematic Key words for Inclusive and Special Needs Education, 2009 The paper presents a short summary for each of these publications. Conclusions The internet resources for SEN and inclusion are very rich and diverse. The idea of Inclusive Education for pupils with Special Educational Needs is widely spread and emphasised on the internet. In spite of the diversity, there are some important common features and clear tendencies in terminology and in the definition of the two terms. The UNESCO work posted on internet – particularly on inclusion – and EADSNE – both on SEN (SNE) and inclusion – are very important and could be wider accessed and better valued in this context.
