To realize the target of having a precise feature size measurement of multihole sheet metal part, this paper based on HALCON, first calibrates the camera with HALCON's calibration assistant. After acquiring the image of the multihole sheet metal part, the image coordinates of the center of fitting ellipse and the length of the long and short half shaft (pixel unit) can be gotten by proceeding a series of operations like thresholding, subpixel-precise contour extraction, fitting ellipses and so on. At last, the point coordinates in image are transformed into the plane Z=0 of the world coordinate system through translation and rotation, and the value of each feature size of the sheet metal part can be calculated.

Abstract:

Villanueva ELC, Buot, JrIE. 2018. Vegetation analysis along the altitudinal gradient of Mt. Ilong, Halcon Range, Mindoro Island, Philippines. Biodiversitas 19: 2163-2174. The vegetation of Halcon Range is diverse, unique, and culturally important; however, there is a very limited information on its altitudinal distribution and structure, leading to the formation of land uses that trigger problem in sustainable management decisions for the mountain. This study analyzed the vegetation in land use types distribution along the altitudinal gradient of Mt. Ilong, Halcon Range, Mindoro, Philippines. Fourteen plots of 10 x 10m were established along the slope from 100m-1400m elevation. The tree species that were sampled from the plots were subjected to classification and ordination analyses. The dendrogram showed three distinct vegetation zones corresponding land use types: Zone I (agroforest land use zone), Lansium-Artocarpus-Swietenia-Ficus-Nephelium-Mangifera zone; Zone II (forest land use zone), Cyathea-Astronia-Syzygium-Garcinia-Ficus-Psydrax-Diplodiscus zone; and Zone III (forest land use zone), Agathis-Suli-Alitugba-Ardisia zone. Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) indicated that elevation, temperature and pH level are the environmental variables that strongly influenced the vegetation distribution in various land uses, a characteristic that is similar to other tropical mountains.

This paper presents an algorithm to measure geometric parameters of optical fibers based on Halcon. The algorithm enhances the contrast of the fiber image and uses canny edge detection operator to extract the contours of fiber cross section. In order to remove noise in the contour, this paper studies new methods, include setting the contour length range, whether each contour is circular or not and whether the center of the circular contour and the center of the fiber core is consistent or not. These methods remove most of the noise. Finally, the effective contours are merged and then approximated by circle and ellipse. According to the mathematical model, all parameters required can be obtained. Experiment results show that the algorithm accuracy meet the needs.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to propose a set of six-axis robot arm welding seam tracking experiment platform based on Halcon machine vision library to resolve the curve seam tracking issue. Design/methodology/approach Robot-based and image coordinate systems are converted based on the mathematical model of the three-dimensional measurement of structured light vision and conversion relations between robot-based and camera coordinate systems. An object tracking algorithm via weighted local cosine similarity is adopted to detect the seam feature points to prevent effectively the interference from arc and spatter. This algorithm models the target state variable and corresponding observation vector within the Bayes framework and finds the optimal region with highest similarity to the image-selected modules using cosine similarity. Findings The paper tests the approach and the experimental results show that using metal inert-gas (MIG) welding with maximum welding current of 200A can achieve real-time accurate curve seam tracking under strong arc light and splash. Minimal distance between laser stripe and welding molten pool can reach 15 mm, and sensor sampling frequency can reach 50 Hz. Originality/value Designing a set of six-axis robot arm welding seam tracking experiment platform with a system of structured light sensor based on Halcon machine vision library; and adding an object tracking algorithm to seam tracking system to detect image feature points. By this technology, this system can track the curve seam while welding.

Abstract:
Optical systems for automatic visual inspections are of increasing importance in the field of automation in the industrial domain. A new application is the determination of steering wheel angles during wheel track setting of the final inspection of car manufacturing. The camera has to be positioned outside the car to avoid interruptions of the processes and therefore, oblique images of the steering wheel must be acquired. Three different approaches of computer vision are considered in this paper, i.e. a 2D shape-based matching (by means of a plane to plane rectification of the oblique images and detection of a shape model with a particular rotation), a 3D shape-based matching approach (by means of a series of different perspectives of the spatial shape of the steering wheel derived from a CAD design model) and a point-to-point matching (by means of the extraction of significant elements (e.g. multifunctional buttons) of a steering wheel and a pairwise connection of these points to straight lines). The HALCON system (HALCON, 2016) was used for all software developments and necessary adaptions. As reference a mechanical balance with an accuracy of 0.1° was used. The quality assessment was based on two different approaches, a laboratory test and a test during production process. In the laboratory a standard deviation of ±0.035° (2D shape-based matching), ±0.12° (3D approach) and ±0.029° (point-to-point matching) could be obtained. The field test of 291 measurements (27 cars with varying poses and angles of the steering wheel) results in a detection rate of 100% and ±0.48° (2D matching) and ±0.24° (point-to-point matching). Both methods also fulfil the request of real time processing (three measurements per second).

Abstract:
This paper proposed a calibration method of sheet-of-light vision measurement sensor based on light plane constraint. Through capturing 12 images of different direction from homemade circular calibration target, the center of the circle and the light stripe is extracted based on Halcon platform of Germany. The experimental results obtained the intrinsic parameters, extrinsic parameters and radial distortion coefficient of the nonlinear model. At the same time the light plane constraint equation is got based on PCA plane fitting method. The results show that the calibration method is simple and reliable, and the method does not need any auxiliary adjustment. The work laid the better foundation for hard disk planeness vision measurement.

In current Ultrasonic Cleaning simulation, high calculation complexity and low precision is a big problem. The disadvantages of reflecting the sound field characteristics inaccurately and quantitative difficulties exist in the sound field measurements. Firstly, the two-dimensional and three-dimensional models of Ultrasonic Cleaning are established in COMSOL Multiphysics and corresponding cleaning effects under different frequencies are simulated, then the frequencies of cleaning machine suitable for remanufactured components are determined. Finally, by means of staining method, sound field distribution on different work cross-sections in the Ultrasonic Cleaning process is studied. Halcon and Matlab are used in our investigation to deal with the experiment results in order to provide a new idea on the measurement of the sound field of Ultrasonic Cleaning.

Abstract:
In machine vision defects detection of pharmaceutical blister packaging, the traditional defects detection algorithms always do the binary image processing and edge feature extraction and other operations, and then locate the analysis image through these features. These operations are very tedious and inflexible. In this paper, the shape template matching algorithm is applied to pharmaceutical blister packaging defects detection. The algorithm can determine whether there is a positioning region of the sheet or pieces missing through search algorithm to locate the template image and comparing the difference of gray value between the detection region and the template region. This paper packaged the software of pharmaceutical blister packaging machine vision defects detection via the professional image processing library of Halcon and visual programming software Visual C++. Detection case demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of detection algorithm and system.

Abstract:
SummaryFour weeks of fieldwork in the forests of Mindoro, Philippines, in 1991 has elucidated the status of the six bird species endemic to the island. Of these, Ducula mindorensis and Otus mindorensis are high-altitude species with restricted ranges and in need of active conservation in the medium term. Three of the four lowland species, Gallicolumba platenae, Centropus steerü and Penelopides mindorensis are under immediate threat of extinction through forest clearance and fragmentation, while the fourth, Dicaeum retrocinctum, s i not under immediate threat but is certainly at risk of extinction in the long term. Whilst deforestation is an enormous problem across the entire Philippines, Mindoro is the smallest centre of endemism with the least forest cover after the Sulu Islands. Extinctions are believed inevitable within the next 10 years unless concerted action is urgently taken. The Halcon range must receive attention in order to conserve the montane species, but more urgent by far is the preservation of lowland forest remnants, concentrating on central-west Mindoro.

Abstract:
Aiming at the problem of moving target recognition, a moving target tracking model based on FDRIG optical flow is proposed. First, the optical flow equation was analyzed from the theory of optical flow. Then, with the energy functional minimization, the FDRIG optical flow technique was proposed. Taking a road section of a university campus as an experimental section, 30 vehicle motion sequence images were considered as objects to form a vehicle motion sequence image with a complex background. The proposed FDRIG optical flow was used to calculate the vehicle motion optical flow field by the Halcon software. Comparable with the classic Horn and Schunck (HS) and Lucas and Kande (LK) optical flow algorithm, the monitoring results proved that the FDRIG optical flow was highly precise and fast when tracking a moving target. The Ettlinger Tor traffic scene was then taken as the second experimental object; FDRIG optical flow was used to analyze vehicle motion. The superior performance of the FDRIG optical flow was further verified. The whole research work shows that FDRIG optical flow has good performance and speed in tracking moving targets and can be used to monitor complex target motion information in real-time.

Abstract:
Abstract Aiming at the problem that the characters in the superimposed character area on the surface of the front bumper bracket of the car are difficult to recognize, a machine vision-based automobile front bumper bracket character recognition method is proposed, use Python, OpenCV and Halcon computer vision library for software system design. For eight images collected from different angles of light source directions, an innovative method of polynomial fitting gray value can reducethe uneven illumination of the images. The photometric stereo algorithm is used to obtain a high-contrast character image, and the separation of the two types of characters is simultaneously achieved. After the image filtering, opening and closing processes canremove background interference, use a morphological improvement algorithm based on scanning algorithm to complete character positioning, and then the improved algorithm of projection dichotomy based on the connected domain size is used to complete the character segmentation, and finally the support vector machine is used for character feature recognition. The experimental results claim that these methods can quickly separate superimposed characters and complete the recognition of non-color difference convex characters and inkjet characters, and the average recognition accuracy rate is over 96%, which meets the expected recognition requirements.

Plant HeightAbstract. Plant height is one of the main parameters for the growth of pakcoy plants that are cultivated hydroponically. Therefore it is necessary to measure the height of the plant which takes a relatively long time if it is actually measured. So the solution to this problem is automatic measurement using image processing to replace human labor. The purpose of this research is to design and monitor the height of the hydroponic system pakcoy plant using image processing technology and a 3D Kinect v2 camera integrated with a computer. In this study, there are two measurements, namely manually using a ruler, and image taking using kinect v2 with a camera resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Pakcoy plant samples used in this study at the age of 2,3 and 4 weeks were 60 samples. Image retrieval is carried out in the afternoon, starting at 15.00-17.00. The resulting depth image data is processed using Halcon HDevelop 20.05 Student Edition software by entering an algorithm and identified using the Distance Transform and Watersheds Segmentation method, which functions to separate objects from the background and create boundaries between objects that touch or coincide. To determine the distance of each leaf detected by the kinect v2 camera, the histogram method was used in image processing. Based on the test results using digital image processing technology, the kinect v2 sensor has been proven to be able to collect data on the height of pakcoy plants. The percentage of accuracy in the actual measurement of plant height and kinect v2 using the Root mean squre error (RMSE) method is 2 with good criteria, while using the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) method, which is 93%.

Abstract:
The global production of propylene oxide is more than 8 million tons/year and is increasing by more than 5% annually. Almost all domestic propylene oxide (72 thousand tons/year) is produced at PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Russia) according to one of the variants of the Halcon process – epoxidation of propylene with ethylbenzene hydroperoxide (HPEB) in the presence of a molybdenum catalyst. One of the most important tasks arising in improving the process for the joint production of styrene and propylene oxide at PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Russia) is the search and development of new catalysts and catalytic systems, one of the stages of this process – the epoxidation of propylene with HPEB. The complex molybdenum catalyst used in the production of propylene oxide, having high activity and selectivity, has several disadvantages, namely: low dissolved molybdenum content, high consumption of ethylbenzene hydroperoxide for its production, and instability during storage. Thus, the problem of obtaining a catalyst with a higher content of dissolved molybdenum and increasing the stability of the catalytic complex, i.e. development of new catalytic systems with the best technological and technical and economic indicators. An analysis of the scientific and technical literature and patent publications showed that in the synthesis of a complex molybdenum catalyst, various molybdenum compounds of both organic and inorganic nature can be used. During the study, molybdenum-containing solutions based on ammonium paramolybdate and monoethylene glycol were tested, distillation distillation products prepared by distilling off excess monoethylene glycol by strengthening under vacuum. Molybdenyl glycolate was isolated by salting out with ethanol from a distillation bottoms product.

Abstract:
Outcrop and continuous core descriptions, high-resolution seismic profiling, and downhole geophysical data are integrated with detailed mapping to update sedimentary and stratigraphic frameworks for Halton sediment, a complex mud-rich lithofacies succession. Halton sediment has a gradational transition from underlying Oak Ridges Moraine (ORM) sediment and can abruptly overlie Newmarket Till. Halton strata thin and fine upwards from ORM sand and gravel to graded sand, silt, and clay rhythmites, with muddy diamicton and sand and gravel interbeds. These strata fill basin lows and drape ORM sediment lobes and Newmarket Till drumlins. These distinct sedimentary units are here informally referred to as Halton formation. Formal Halton Till is a proposed subunit of Halton formation, a clay-rich diamicton mapped from Niagara Peninsula to ORM and eastward. Halton Till has traditionally been inferred to represent a late, climatically induced readvance of grounded ice from Lake Ontario basin, which deposited drumlinized till. Halton sedimentary architecture and facies are interpreted as deposition in an ice-marginal or subglacial lake bounded by Niagara Escarpment, ORM, and grounding line oscillation of a semi-buoyant ice shelf or ice lid over Lake Ontario. Large volumes of transported mud are distal equivalents of ORM high-energy gravelly sand deposits to the east. Glaciolacustrine sedimentation is indicated by mud-rich texture and laminations. Clay–silt rhythmites, diamicton interbeds, and intraclasts indicate ponding, debris flow, and periodic ice loading. Halton depositional model may apply to other muddy diamictons in Great Lakes basins. Halton formation facies are not compatible with proposed grounded ice stream events in Lake Ontario basin.
