Abstract:
The research was conducted to find out the impacts of Beel sanctuary management on fish production of the HaltiBeelTanki fish sanctuary and socio-economic competence of adjacent fishermen, Natore, Bangladesh through random sampling with questionnaire survey and secondary data. The main objectives of the research were- to find out the present status of fish production of the Beel and to know the socio-economic condition of the surrounding fishermen. A total of 68 fishermen were selected and interviewed. In the studied Beel the annual fish production was 8.8 MT in 2012 where Beel sanctuary management increased the production up to 15.2 MT in 2013. The average fish production increased 2.6 MT per year. Fish species such as Ayre, Calbaosh, Pabda, Sharputi etc. were absent before the project (before 2012) but at present available at a rate of 20g, 1000g, 300g, and 1200g per day respectively. The study revealed that about 77% of the fishermen preferred nuclear family where only 23% joint family. It was found that about 63% fishermen were illiterate and there was no H.S.C pass fisherman. The average income of the selected fishermen was 8125 taka/month and about 58% fishers were able to save money 501-1000 taka/month after the project.J. Environ. Abstract:
In Bangladesh, English is taught as a foreign language. The English Language Teaching Improvement Project (ELTIP) introduced commutative textbooks in between 1992 to 2001 from class three to the higher secondary level. The main aim of ELTIP is to facilitate the teaching and learning of English with a methodology that will encourage students to acquire communicative competence in English through regular practice of these skills. Each of the books contains many tasks on speaking, but unfortunately in reality there is no practice and reflection of this skill. The speaking skill is never examined in S.S.C. and H.S.C. exam though in the English medium schools the scenario is totally opposite. Now the students who get admitted in the private universities having a very poor competency in speaking face great problems from the very beginning because English is the medium of instruction in these universities and general English courses are compulsory for all students. Very few students are capable of understanding lectures given in English. So conducting the class in English becomes a great challenge for all teachers. In my paper, I intend to analyse some factors that are closely related with teaching speaking. Then I will try to evaluate how Public Speaking course at Stamford University Bangladesh plays a vital role in teaching speaking, and our teachers’ and learners’ opinions regarding this course. Abstract:
The experiences gathered during the theoretical and experimental investigations of the thrust and journal high stiffness bearing (H.S.B.) allowed to improvement of their characteristics. New elements of the throttling system were introduced into the journal H.S.B. to make possible this improvement. It was shown that the H.S.B. can reach infinite stiffness in a wide range of the loading forces having at the same time zero or submicronic shaft displacement. Additionally, the load-displacement characteristic of the H.S.B. may have the prescribed negative displacement to make possible the full compensation of elastic deformation of connected machine parts. The influence of journal rotation on the H.S.B. load-displacement characteristics is discussed in this paper. The H.S.B. of presented characteristics may be applied to many precise devices, e.g., to ultra-precision grinding machines.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The steps by which a tool life analysis applicable to orthogonal cutting can be extended to accommodate tool obliquity are detailed. By following these, a relation between tool-life, T, tool obliquity, λ, and a representative tool flank wear land contact temperature, θfs, is obtained. A method is then described by which θfs in oblique cutting can be computed. This is based on a recently developed procedure for estimating temperatures of obliquely moving heat sources on the rake face combined with the influence of constriction resistance occurring at the discrete contact points within the flank contact area. In this way, from a knowledge of the T − θfs relation applicable to a given tool/workpiece combination cut orthogonally, tool lives at different tool obliquities are predicted and are shown to agree quite well with experimentally determined values. Finally, a comprehensive tool life expression independent of cutting parameters and of tool geometry is proposed and is verified using data obtained by cutting mild steel with H.S.S. tools.

Abstract:
Image classification using fully connected neural network is not efficient due to huge number of parameters in each layer. In this paper, we propose a Neuro-Statistic model for classification of five different pig breeds from pig images. The model consists of four sub modules which work together as a layered structure. We captured multiple individual pig images of five different pig breeds from different organized farms to conduct this research, segmented the captured pig images using hue based segmentation algorithm and then calculated the statistical properties like entropy, standard deviation, variance, mean, median, mode and color properties like H.S.V from the content of the individual segmented images. We fed all the extracted properties into Neural Network for Pig Breed (NNPB) to perform pig breed prediction with the classification module and analyzed the best performance, regression error plot, Error histogram and training state of NNPB. The performance of NNPB network was accepted based on error analysis and finally, we used the trained model to predict the breed of 50 pig images and achieved the prediction accuracy of 90%.

Abstract:
Sulphate ion and chloride ion existed in the alkaline saline soils may cause serious problems on the durability of reinforced concrete structures, while it is found that superfine mineral powder plays positive role in the precaution of the alkaline saline corrosion. A composite cement named high performance cement (H.P.C) composed of clinker, metakaolin and fly ash powder in appropriate proportions is developed with good performance in preventing concrete from alkaline saline soil corrosion. Mortar bar test and visual examination showed that the cement could effectively control AAR and sulphate ion related expansion, and the charge passed tested according to ASTM C1202 was decreased to “negligible” level for concrete with W/B ratio of 0.3, and “very low” grade for concrete with W/B ratio of 0.45 and 0.55 when the high performance cement was used. Other properties such as low hydration heat and anti-freezing properties, as well as the uniformity of the fresh concrete (with no bleeding and segregation), made it an important material in the construction of concrete structure in alkaline saline soils.
