Abstract:
The aim of this study is twofold: on the one hand, it purports to develop a model to investigate universal or generic propositions (e.g., theses, maxims, proverbs, aphorisms) and their effects in poetry; on the other, it applies such model to four poetry collections by Cristina Annino, Milo De Angelis, Marco Giovenale, and Guido Mazzoni. The analysis, guided by the criteria and parameters established by the model, has allowed to discover in what textual forms and pragmatic functions the aforementioned authors express contents worth of memic transmissibility, as well as related effects of authority, necessity, wisdom, intuition, collective relevance. Mazzoni’s reliance on theses, for instance, has been interpreted as an attempt to gain an objective knowledge of the world, differently from Annino’s more subjective aphorisms or De Angelis’ utterances, which are rooted in the here-and-now and yet capable of transcending themselves by virtue of their archetypal relevance. The model proposed has also enabled to shed light on less prototypical forms, such as Annino’s creative manipulation of proverbs and Giovenale’s parodic redeployment of stereotypes. The article concludes by suggesting paths for future research in which the model could be profitably applied. English title: Full of Wisdom: Forms and Uses of Maxims in Contemporary Italian Poetry

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe present work has as object of study the Penitentiary Security ex-Agent (ex-ASP) who is in prison regime by the crime of passive corruption (Article 317 - Brazilian Penal Code). The study answered the following questions: 1) What do staffs and ex-staffs think on the practice of corruption exercised between institutional staffs and some prisoners inside the Sao Paulo's Prisons? 2) What are the representations for the conduct of the ASP's? 3) How do these representations explain the inclusion of some staffs in illegal activity by way of corruption? What is the relationship between corruption and violence? This is a qualitative research with questionnaires and interviews script sticking to the viewpoint of those involved in acts of corruption (the ex-ASP's) and the speeches of the staffs in the exercises of function. The social representations was used as theoretical and methodological axes to present the explanatory elements (material and symbolic) that guide the conduct of this professional category about the corruption and the relationship of this practice with the intramural violence.

Abstract:
The global COVID-19 pandemic has had substantial implications on all aspects of our lives including teaching and learning. Interest in online education has grown unprecedentedly as online-only teaching was the only option for continuing education at all levels for several months when countries went into lockdown in March 2020. Higher education was not an exception. As put by Mazzei and Jay-Rayon Ibrahim Aibo (2022), due to the global pandemic, “[t]hose who had never considered teaching online “were forced” to do so, and now we have a more informed idea of the demands and realities of this type of educational space” (p. 14). The assertion is that online education is here to stay and will keep growing in a post pandemic world. Thus, I would not be wrong in saying that The Routledge Guide to Teaching Translation and Interpreting Online by Cristiano Mazzei and Laurence Jay-Rayon Ibrahim Aibo is a timely and much-needed contribution to translator and interpreter training research and practice.

Abstract:
Captures and postmortem examinations, or necropsies, of invasive or nonnative animals may provide insight into the ecological impact of these invaders. Researchers should be able to perform necropsies when an opportunity arises to examine nonnative species for study. While the techniques described serve as a guide to necropsy of all reptiles, we focus on exotic species found in south Florida. South Florida provides prime habitat for invasive reptiles such as Argentine black and white tegu and Burmese python, and these species are used to describe our techniques. Licameli, Chiara.

Abstract:

Abstract:
ReferênciasVan Meerbeek B, De Munck J, Yoshida Y, Inoue S, Vargas M, Vijay P, et al.
